New Hampshire Visit
My mother held the reason for the family s New Hampshire visit, two tickets to a race at New
Hampshire Motor Speedway. While my parents attended the race in the sweltering heat, my sister,
Catlyn, and I had the entire day to ourselves. We didn t have much of a plan besides spending the
day without our parents. Catlyn and I agreed to explore the area around Hampton, starting near our
hotel. We found a pamphlet for a group of outlet stores. Upon further inspection of the pamphlet,
we realized that outlets were in Maine. This fact had confused us. To our knowledge New
Hampshire and Maine seemed too far for a day s drive. When we found directions on our phones we
noticed that it would only take twenty minutes. Wait, so it only takes twenty minutes... Show more

We still had plenty of time in the day to get to Kittery, so Catlyn and I set off for Maine. As our
parents didn t have the pleasure of knowing that we decided to drive to Maine, we thoughtfully
sent them a picture of the Welcome to Maine sign, leaving them to question why we left the state.
We arrived at Kittery sometime near noon. After walking around in the summer heat, we stopped
at a Bose factory store. The moment we walked into the store we fell under a trance to try on
every single pair of headphones. Ooh, noise cancelling, my sister said with a sarcastic tone. We
compared pairs of headphones and enjoyed the cool air conditioning. We had to pick up every
pair and check, possibly double check, the cushions and the way the headphones felt when we
wore them. The time spent in the Bose store was well needed as the air conditioning was
perfectly set to cool us during the warm day. After our folly in the store we decided to check the
rest of the outlet stores to possibly find more nonsensical things to mess around with. We stopped
into a store called Brookstone after. This store is known for its odd gadgets and assortment of
massage chairs. This store didn t interest us as much because everything interesting was not out on
display, but instead stuck inside a

Decline In Youth Sports
The decline in youth sports is affecting many people around the world today and it isn t just the
kids themselves, or parents with children, it includes the average person. If the participation in
youth sports continues to decline everyone will be affected in a negative way. As a society we
need to get our kids back into sports so they can receive the benefits and the life lessons that they
will hold onto for the rest of their lives. Sports can be a very important thing in many children s
lives and it will have a positive effect on them forever.
Decline in youth sports is a problem because it is hurting more than one person. Kids that do not
participate in a sport are more likely to have bad grades, get into drugs and alcohol, get into ... Show

Cost is a huge problem when it comes to kids participating in youth sports. According to athlete
intelligence parents in the United States spend an average of $671 per year to cover different
costs for sports. These costs may include the participation fee, uniforms, lessons, or coaching
from a private club. As the kids get older they start participating in traveling leagues which can
also be very costly. Overtime all of those things add up and can become very costly for families
This is just in youth sports only, and the cost has increased and has been on the rise.
Another problem would be under trained coaches or coaches that are not properly taught how to
coach young children in youth sports. Farrey (2013) Only 1 in 5 coaches of youth teams of
children under age 14 say they have been trained in effective motivational technique, and just 1 in
3 in skills and tactics in the primary sport they coach . Most of the coaches in youth sports today
are fathers that have a kid in the sport, so that might be why they are coaching in the first place.
Also they haven t been properly trained in the first place. According to NRPA there are roughly 3.5
million coaches in youth sports and the majority of them are volunteer coaches that lack the
training to coach these kids. They are unable to teach the correct fundamentals and developmental
skills to these kids, while at the same time have them enjoy the

Spanish American Independence
It was known by the Spanish American War of name conflict occurred between Spain and the
United States in 1898, culminating with the taking of Cuba, Puerto Rico and the Philippines to
Spanish rule. With the exception of the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812, both fought
against their former colonial power, Britain, this was the first war of the US against a European
nation.
The conflict, which lasted approximately eight months was also the first major military victory of
the United States of a foreign power. Such a war signaled once the Spanish decline as a world
power and catapulted the United States to the forefront of the global political disputes.

The Catholic Views Of The Roman Catholic Church
The Roman Catholic Church has consistently condemned abortion the direct and purposeful taking
of the life of the unborn child. In principle, Catholic Christians believe that all life is sacred from
conception until natural death, and the taking of innocent human life, whether born or unborn, is
morally wrong. The Church teaches, Human life is sacred because from its beginning it involves
the creative action of Godand it remains for ever in a special relationship with the Creator, who is
its sole end. God alone is the Lord of life from its beginning until its end: no one can under any
circumstance claim for himself the right directly to destroy an innocent human being ( Donum
vitae, 5).
The respect for the sacredness of life in the womb originates in Christianity s Jewish roots. The
ancient Jewish world was much different from the surrounding cultures of Palestine where
infanticide, infant sacrifice and abortion were not uncommon, and in some cases prevalent. For
the Jewish people of those times and orthodox Jews to this day, all human life has as its author
the one God whose creative power produces the child in the mother s womb and brings it step by
step to full life. The Old Testament revelation, which the Church inherited and accepted, gives
clear evidence that life in the womb was considered as sacred. Moses proclaimed, When you
hearken to the voice of the Lord, your God, all these blessings will come upon you and overwhelm
you: May you be blessed in the city,

common law which would satisfy these actions as described. Court states that no such common
law exists mainly because an issue such as this has not been dealt with by the court, it does not
inherently mean there is no tort present. The court also looks at Restatement 2d В§ 46 which
states One who by extreme and outrageous conduct intentionally or recklessly causes severe
emotional distress to another is subject to liability for such emotional distress, and if bodily
harm to the other results from it, for such bodily harm. Restatements 2d would consider the
repeated attempt at unnecessary debt recovery the extreme and outrageous conduct. 6. Holding:
As stated in the case: one who, without a privilege to do so, by extreme and outrageous conduct
intentionally causes severe emotional distress to another, with bodily harm resulting from such
distress, is subject to liability for such emotional distress and bodily harm even though he has
committed no heretofore recognized common law tort. 7. Court s Order: As a result of this
holding the court has established sufficient law entitles P to have her case heard before trial

Those Who By Insight Know What Love Is Essay
As any romantic will assert, love is by far the most powerful force known to human hearts and
minds. This sentiment is espoused throughout history, almost to the point of clichГ©. Everyone
has heard the optimistic statement, love conquers all, and The Beatles are certain, however idyllic
it may be, that all you need is love. Humanity is convinced that love is unique within human
emotion, unequalled in its power to both lift the spirit up in throws of ecstasy, and cast it down in
utter despair. Loves power has suggested to many that it serves as a link to the divine, and that the
feeling instilled in man by love comes from the supernatural, be it God or otherwise. In La Vita

The physical effect that love has on Dante is apparent whenever he is in its presence, that is,
through a vision of Love himself or through being close to Beatrice. In their second encounter,
nine years later, Beatrice is walking down the street where Dante is standing in fear and
trembling. As she passes him, she greets him, of which he says, Such was the virtue of her
greeting that I seemed to experience the height of bliss [...] I was filled with such joy that, my
senses reeling, I had to withdraw from the sight of others. (5) It is after this encounter that Dante
has his first vision of Love manifested, in which love says to him, Ego dominus tuus, or I am
your master. Love is holding Beatrice in his arms, and in one hand, Dante s heart. Love bids
Beatrice to eat the heart and then, weeping, the two ascend into heaven. It is clear that Dante is
consumed, body and mind, by Love, and sees him as a divine force to which he must submit his
will. Just as devout men who feel the influence and power of God within them give up their will
and lives to the service of their Lord, so Dante gives himself to Love. So strong is his devotion
that his thoughts are entirely consumed by Beatrice. The strain of such a state weighs heavily on
Dante, such that his appearance reflects his turmoil and causes his friends to grow concerned.
About inquiries into the cause of his pain, Dante says, in obedience to Love s will, [...] I replied
that it was Love who had

Scarlet Letter Ending
Suddenly, a shiver ran down the spines of the duo of sinners and out of the brush burst a bone
chilling sight. Standing there upon the edge of the forest was their common enemy, he stood in a
dusky shadow that began to overwhelm Pearl s beam of light. What a beautifully incidental family
reunion, but how tragic would it be if the pure child was to suddenly vanish from this immoral
thicket?
Chillingworth! cried Hester, Thou hast no place here, may our lord God banish you back to where
you came from just as he banished my sin! .

as beautiful as her. Delicately growing ivy climbed it s way up the walls and wild flowers grew at
the base of the cottage. The only thing that could draw away from the magnificent scene was the
dark, grisly weeds surrounding the wild flowers.
Hester turned just as they reached her threshold and she hugged Dimmesdale with a crushing grip.
Thank you. For everything. Without waiting for him to say anything she hurried into her house

How Human Beings Can Conserve Primate As Valuable Species
Animals and human beings come into contact with each other in the different environment across
the world. This has been fostered by human settlement in most regions that were delegated for
animals. Whenever there is a contact between human and animals, there is a chance for the
development of a relationship. Although human beings are familiar with the interaction of
companion animals like cats, human animal interaction also occurs in the context of farms,
laboratories and in the wilderness (Davis, Schaffner, Smith 2005). Repeated relationship can lead to
developing long term friendly relationship between animals and human beings involved. Various
studies have been developed in an attempt of developing the most critical and rational measures that
can be utilized to enhance and develop a human animal relationship (Campbell, Shideler, Todd,
Lasley 2001). These research studies have in majority concentrated on domesticated species. This
research paper is developed to critically analyze the human primaterelationship. The study critically
is developed to show how human beings can conserve primate as valuable species. The primate is
used to refer to the group of mammals that are intelligent and most developed in comparison to
other animals. In the animal kingdom they are the beings that are closest related to humans.
Primate conservation has been one of the major concerns of animal experts. The animals are
intelligent and required great attention with a critical understanding

History Of Internet On The World

History of Internet
Before the the Internet was created, linking the world, human beings were already thinking with
a connected mind. While messages obviously were unable to be transferred electronically,
humans invented different ways to trade information and news with other people. Firstly was
the post. In order to send a friend a message, a letter would have had to been written and mailed.
Mailing messages was a long process, often taking days to get one message to another person.
This method (still used today) was not the most convenient because there is no urgency or speed
in mailing a letter. Luckily in the mid 1800 s the telegraph was invented. Sent for the first time in
1838, the telegraph was the first instance of sending a message (4). A telegraph is defined as the
transmission of textual or symbolic messages without the physical exchange of an object. This is
the first instance of a message being sent in a virtual sense (2). While messages could be delivered
through the mail within a matter of days, a telegraph could be transmitted live. At the time this was
quite a feat. When studying the creation of the internet, it is important to remember that not one
single man directly created the web that we know today. Rather, many brilliant minds, over time,
added and refined the experience for the greater good. Originally, the earliest version of the internet
was constructed as a tool for US warfare. The United States

anything which has proved to be the best in terms of performance or quality. It can be a product, a

Increase the Rate of Organizational Learning: During the process of benchmarking, there are many
innovative ideas which can be expressed, and this helps to promote a healthy environment of
innovation and learning amongst the employees. It also facilitates sharing of experiences amongst

Some of the most used Quality Management tools in Benchmarking are as follows;
1.Checklist: A Checklist, true to its name, enlists all the factors which constitute a benchmark.
(Hopen) 2.Pareto Chart: Arranges all categories in a descending order, i.e. from highest to lowest,
to signify which is of the highest frequency or priority. Pareto rule states that 80% of the issues
are usually caused by 20% of the factors and if these are correctly identified and remedied, then
most of the issues can be mitigated. (Pareto Chart) Figure 2: Sample Pareto Chart

Epic Of Beowulf Argumentative Essay
You have known about the brilliance of Beowulf the Great, slayer of the foul beast Grendel and
of Grendel s reviled mother, who dragged the ring supplier to her den, much to her own lament;
Beowulf, who slew the monster of the fortune store, the mythical beast who killed our kin for the
loss of yet one gold glass. In spite of the fact that Beowulfs own cutting edge, Naegling, fizzled
him in desperate hour, with the assistance of his brother Wiglaf, he put a conclusion to the reviled
worm, however he lost his life in the fight.
Presently you should know about the childhood of Beowulf and how he picked up the quality of
thirty men in his grasp, the quality he used to tear the arm from the killing Grendel, the descendent
of Cain, the main murder. King Hrethel, understood among the tribes, a honorable pioneer of the
Geats, was as a father to Beowulf, however Beowulf was not the child of his loins. You know from
the story of Beowulf the man that he conveyed the pennant of war into fight interestingly at seven
years old.
The person who conveys the pennant serves to rally the warriors at vital circumstances. He should
hold it up high and never discharge his grasp upon it. This the youthful Beowulf did as no

Differences And Similarities Between Formula 1 And Indycar
One of the most obvious examples of differences and similarities are the cars, with Formula 1
and IndyCar being similar and NASCAR being the odd one out. However, the differences and
similarities go further than just the looks and the body design. Most people know that there are
mechanical differences between the cars, but not many know the specifics. The Montreal Grand
Prix website states, While the F1 and Indy cars feature open wheels and an open cockpit, NASCAR
drivers are enclosed in a sedan styled vehicle. It s also the heaviest of the three, averaging over
3,250 lbs (1,474 kg) compared to just over 1,500 lbs (680 kg) for F1 and IndyCar. The increased

While they all initially use ungrooved racing tires, if it s raining, IndyCar and F1 apply grooved
racing tires to overcome this challenge. In the aspect of cars, they have very few traits that they all
share. Though IndyCar and F1 cars may have more similarities, NASCAR s vehicles still have their
similarities to the other divisions.
Other than the cars themselves, the three series have other comparable factors, such as their
backstories. Each Motorsports division started in different regions. They were each started by
different individuals or groups of people. According to NASCAR s website, the sport became
more popular after the end of the second World War. In 1947, Bill France formed the first branch
of NASCAR or the modern Monster Energy Series . Later, in the year 1982, members of
NASCAR made a new series, which was given the name the Late Model Sportsman Division,
which later became the XFINITY Series. There is also a third series, the Craftsman Truck
Series, or the Camping World Truck Series that was formed, which uses trucks instead of cars.
The NASCAR website explains how the sport started and how it expanded with the two
additional series that it added. When the sport started, there was no organization. However, as
time went on, and because of men like Bill France, NASCAR became an organized and popular
sport. Founded in 1994, INDYCAR serves as the sanctioning body for the Verizon IndyCar Series...

The Pros And Cons Of Unions In The Workplace
Have you ever been in a situation where you didn t feel safe in an environment due to its
working conditions? I have. Many times people in jobs feel the need to stay quiet and not
defend their opinions because they are afraid of possibly losing their jobs if they speak their
mind. However, what many people don t know is that as a human being, we have rights and with
those rights you are allowed to be a part of a union in search of better opportunities. A union is
when a group of employees gather together to use their strength to have a voice in their
workplace. (L.A. Union, What is a Union?) Yes, that is correct, a voice that needs to be heard is
what we all want. Of course, not all unions are good, but many have done well for the employees
they have represented. Unions are very important to have in a company because it allows the
employees to acknowledge their rights within the workplace, and also protects them from the
employers. Unions help employees have job security and better wages, as well as better benefits.
There are a few disadvantages however of having a union. The disadvantages are the dues that have

Ontology vs. Epistemology
Ontology deals with questions concerning what entities exist or can be said to exist. What do
we know? What are we certain of? What can we prove? What is the nature of existence?
Epistemology is the study of knowledge. How do we know what we know? How can we
establish truth and certainty? Are their limits to what we can know based on how we come to
know it? These epistemological questions when combined with ontological questions have
philosophers pondering what exists and how we know it exists. In A Certain Ambiguity, by
Gaurav Suri and Hartosh Singh Bal, there was a constant question of proof. How do you go about
proving something? Well the book suggests that it is only possible to prove something if you have
a set of accepted axioms.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first half of this quote explains that idea in a different way, Each society thought that their
way was the natural way, the absolute way, and the certain way, but Protagoras and Sophists
realized that one way was not anymore certain or real than any other way. They went on to
generalize that every human idea is relative to the circumstances surrounding the originator of
the idea, and that true knowledge is unattainable. (pg. 42) The second half of the quote intrigued
me. People are too dependent on one another to formulate or recognize new truths. The movie
Flatland showed how people s thoughts and ideas are limited to what they can see and what
they experience. The circles were powerful and influential and clearly knew they could control
the thoughts of their people. The circumstance surrounding the idea of the existence of the 3rd
dimension was the shapes were to be punished if they disobeyed the circles and tried to prove
there was a 3rd dimension. When someone finally stood out and fought to prove the existence of
the new dimension, was when the people followed along because the new truth made more sense.
If people keep looking at certainty with an oh look, something shiny attitude they are going to
continue to be pawns in someone s game and are never really going to increasing their knowledge.
Oh look, something shiny is used to express the way people react when they are told a new truth.
Most people are not educated enough to

Pre 18th Century Attitudes to Slavery Like other people of the time, Europeans believed that the
enslavement of another person was justifiable as long as a reasonable explanation could have
being given for the enslavement. In Africa itself, slavery was acceptable and people were taken
as slaves in three ways: as prisoners in war, as a punishment for a crime and as a payment for debt.
An English philosopher, John Locke stated that slavery is only justifiable when a person was then
taken captive as a prisoner of war e.g.: in crusades. The Spanish questioned whether slavery was
right but they still practiced it. They argued that slavery although wrong was necessary in order to

However, in the 18th century they began focusing on resisting the Abolition Movement in

they had 50 members. In order to delay emancipation, the parliamentary members of the WII

largely due to the fact that more abolitionists were becoming MP s; particularly in the House of

Essay On Electronic Vehicle Control
Electronic Stability Control (ESC) ESC systems sense parameters such as yaw rate, steering
wheel angle and lateral acceleration in order to detect differences between the intended and
actual path of the vehicle. The system is then linked to the ABS and engine management system
in order to differentially apply the brakes and/or reduce the engine power to individual wheels,
thus generating yaw moments to correct the vehicles path. These systems are known by a
variety of other proprietary names such as Vehicle Dynamic Controller (VDC) and Vehicle
Stability Control (VSC) but are referred to generically as ESC in this report. Market penetration
of ESC systems was estimated at 27% in Europe in 2002, and is expected to reach 50% in Europe
by 2007 (Reed Electronics Research, 2003). Previous research indicates that ESC significantly
reduced instability in test manoeuvres where substantial instability was encountered. It also
suggests that ESC does not influence vehicle behaviour when a driver attempts to operate outside
the physical limits of the vehicle. No significant disbenefits of ESC systems were found, and clear
evidence of positive influence on safety and accident reduction was cited (Grover Knight, 2005).
ESC is also now strongly recommended to all consumers by the EuroNCAP organisation
(EuroNCAP, 2005). It is suggested that ESC must work to constrain vehicle behaviour to that
expected by normal human driving behaviour. It does this either by producing similar

Abstract
There has been an increasing use of the social networking sites to aid in the decision making
process for making investments in the capital markets around the world by both individuals and
organizations. Social networks enable a faster and easier access to information regarding capital
markets to all. According to various researches, data from the social networking sites can be used

The research by Indiana University Professor Johan Bollen shows that their algorithms are capable
of predicting the direction of DJIA with 87 percent accuracy, up to four days before the actual
move happens in the market. Here is an example of their findings.
In the graph the blue line represents the Dow Jones Industrial Average and the red line represents
the predicted model of stock prices based on twitter updates. The trends are separated for better
viewing in the middle and bottom graphs. From the graph we can see that when delayed by
three days, the trends in predicted model of stock prices overlaps meaningfully with the Dow
(top). However, events that the public cannot predict, like the bank bailout pointed to in the top,
can disrupt the accuracy of the predicted model of stock prices. b) Another research study says it
has found a correlation between the social media popularity of key brands and their share price,
and suggests that it might be used as a lead indicator to determine the trend of the stock price as
well. The author of the study, Arthur O Connor, a post doctoral student at Pace University said
that he was able to reliably predict the daily stock prices of three major stocks over a 10 month
period. He also made three predictions, claiming that Wal Mart, Viacom and Sony each had seen
major recent growth in key social media profiles, implying that the share prices of those stocks

Factors Affecting The Human Body
In order for the Human Body to maintain balance within its internal environment or return systems
to functioning within a normal range, it must manage a multitude of highly complex interactions in
order to deal with external changes that are optimal for survival. The organs that help maintain
homeostasis are the liver, the kidneys, and the brain through hypothalamus, the autonomic nervous
system and the endocrine system. The main function of the liver is to metabolize toxic substance as
well as stabilising carbohydrate metabolism. The kidneys are responsible for a number of things.
They regulate bloodwater levels, re absorb substances into the blood, maintain salt and ion levels in
the blood, regulate blood pH, and excrete urea and other wastes, however, there are many factors
that can disrupt this process resulting in homeostatic imbalance which may cause disease or death.
Factors that need to be carefully controlled are body temperature, water content, carbon dioxide
level, and blood sugar level. It is crucial to ensure that these factors are maintained throughout
homeostasis. A major factor that affects homeostasis, in general, is water and salt balance.
Most people believe it is vital to stay hydrated during strenuous amounts of exercises however this
is not necessarily the case for those embarking on the Kokoda track. Water plays a critical role in
homeostasis. The amount of water in the body should be kept balanced all the time in order to
prevent cells from being

Executive Summary
This report provides analysis and evaluation of a newly designed wastewater treatment facility for
Sand Valley, Nevada. Analysis will include Biological OxygenDemand (BOD) along with total,
volatile, and fixed suspended solids. Methods for analysis will include the Winkler Test for BOD
and a Hatch test for the suspend solids.
The report finds BOD levels meet the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES)
permit renewal standards. Results for suspended solids shows an opposite trend. Suspended solids
increase throughout the course of the water treatment. This does not meet NPDES standards.
Further suspended solids test will be needed to insure a minimal amount of error. If the same trend
continues, the facility may need to be redesigned to meet NPDES standards.

How Does Temperature Affect The Permeability Of The Plasma...
Introduction
Membranes contain phospholipid bilayer these are two layers of phospholipids which are facing
in opposite directions to each other. The non polar tails are hydrophobic which are water hating,
what makes it difficult for polar molecules/ions to pass through them are the fatty acid tails which
also act as a barrier to water soluble substances. These molecules move in and out of the cell by
diffusion, osmosis and active transport. Diffusion is the net movement of particles down a
concentration gradient for example when gases move about and will move from where there is a
high concentration to where they are in lower concentration. By osmosis, the diffusion of water
through the plasma membrane is possible because the lipids bilayers are water resistant to
important molecules and small molecules like oxygen and carbon dioxide, these molecules and
ions diffuse freely across the cell membrane. By active transport, ions and molecules are forced
using metabolic energy to move against their concentrated gradient. ... Show more content on

This will lead to a higher reading on the colorimeter. At about 59В°C proteins start to become
denatured losing their shape preventing the normal movement of substances in and out of the cell.
Above 60В°C proteins become totally denatured. At these temperatures the fatty acid melts leading
to a reduced stability of the membrane.
Betalain are the red coloured pigment which happens in the vacuoles of the beetroot cell, a

The Hunger Games
Just as the town clock strikes two, the mayor steps up to the podium and begins to read. It s the
same story every year.
He tells of the history of Panem, the country that rose up out of the ashes of a place that was once
called North America. He lists the disasters, the droughts, the storms, the fires, the encroaching seas
that swallowed up so much of the land, the brutal war for what little sustenance remained. The
result was
Panem, a shining Capitol ringed by thirteen districts, which

brought peace and prosperity to its citizens. Then came the
Dark Days, the uprising of the districts against the Capitol.
Twelve were defeated, the thirteenth obliterated. The Treaty of Treason gave us the new laws to

It is both a time for repentance and a time for thanks, intones the mayor.
Then he reads the list of past District 12 victors. In seventyfour years, we have had exactly two.
Only one is still alive.
Haymitch Abernathy, a paunchy, middle aged man, who at this moment appears hollering
something unintelligible, staggers onto the stage, and falls into the third chair. He s drunk.
Very. The crowd responds with its token applause, but he s confused and tries to give Effie Trinket
a big hug, which she barely manages to fend off.
The mayor looks distressed. Since all of this is being televised, right now District 12 is the
laughingstock of Panem, and he knows it. He quickly tries to pull the attention back to the reaping
by introducing Effie Trinket.
Bright and bubbly as ever, Effie Trinket trots to the podium and gives her signature, Happy Hunger
Games! And may the odds be ever in your favor! Her pink hair must be a wig because her curls
have shifted slightly off center since her encounter with Haymitch. She goes on a bit about what an
honor it is to be here, although everyone knows she s just aching to get bumped up to a better
district where they have proper victors, not drunks who molest you in front of the entire nation.
Through the crowd, I spot Gale looking back at me with a ghost of a smile. As reapings go, this
one at least has a slight entertainment factor. But suddenly I am thinking of Gale and

Around Ad 1200, Tahitian Explorers Came Across A Small
Around AD 1200, Tahitian explorers came across a small tropical archipelago consisting of eight
main islands and a few smaller islets. They settled there and the rich ethnic culture and religion
of native Hawaiians developed in isolation, untouched by the outside world, for the next five
hundred years. Each island had their own chief that ruled under the guidelines of the Kapu
religion. Their mystical polytheistic views affected every aspect of life from lifestyle habits to
lawmaking. But in mid January of 1778 a group of European explorers led by Captain James Cook

had previously been ceded to the U.S. Kanahele and his advisors signed a fifty five year lease with

Richard Adams Watership Down Analysis
The care of human life and happiness, and not their destruction, is the first and only object of
good government Thomas Jefferson. In Richard Adams Watership Down, the rabbits in the story
all live in groups on separate areas of land. These areas are called warrens, and there are three
main warrens that will be discussed in this essay. Each of the three warrens have a different type of
governments being run inside of them. The Sandleford Warren, the Efrafa Warren and the
Watership DownWarren are all ran differently. Each warren has modern world equivalences relating
to their governments. In the following paragraphs you will be able to see which modern world
governmentmatches up, and is present in each of the three warrens in Watership Down.
The first warren is the Sandleford Warren, this warren is a communistic government. It is a
communist government because all rabbits live under the order of the chief rabbit Threarah..
All the rabbits know to respect the chief rabbit especially if you are in a lower class like the
rabbit Hazel. I m awfully sorry, Chief Rabbit Hazel pg12. The chief rabbit and his communist
government want to control all the social classes and money in the area he controls. There are
three social classes in the Sandleford Warren, the Chief Rabbit, the Owsla and the Outskirters.
Outskirters that is, the rank and file of ordinary rabbits in their first year pg4. All these social
classes are controlled by the Chief Rabbit. Mao Zedong started a communist government in
China in 1927 and just as Chief Rabbit controlled the social classes of his warren, Mao Zedong
controlled the social classes of the country of China. In a real life communist government the
leader of the government will control the country s money. In the warrens the rabbit do not have
money but the one controllable factor is food. The caste system ran by the chief rabbit lets you
know what you eat and when, determined by class. Cowslips are for the Owsla* don t you know
that? Toadflax pg5. Cowslips are a food for upper class as Toadflax tells an outskirter. Through
class system, control of goods and one single leader you are able to see how the Sandleford Warren
is a communist government. Efrafa is the second Warren and

According Vermeulen, most new strategies are implemented. One of the chief reason for lack of
implementation of these strategies is that new strategies are usually not strategies at all. A real
strategy involves a clear set of choices which define what the organization is going to execute and
those which isn t going to execute. Therefore, most strategies are never put into actions despite the
ample efforts of hard working individuals since they doesn t represent a set of clear choices
(Vermeulen, 2017). To improve your strategy you must ensure that there is a clear communication
of the strategy to the implementers who are the employees as well as all the people in the
enterprise. Communicating your logic will be very important in answering some of the why
questions that your employees have. Answering such questions will help in persuading the
employees that the new strategy is valuable. For effectiveness of the strategy, it should be issued

question and the writing across the second going into third frame (9pm to 5am: Obey all the rules,

Romeo And Juliet Comparison To Zeffirelli s
Luhrmann uses lighting more effectively than Zeffirelli to portray the mood and emotions in the
story of Romeo and Juliet. To begin with, Zeffirelli s use of lighting is very weak in his version
of the movie, as he does not change the lighting to suit the characters behaviors and the overall
feeling of the movie at the time. For example, during the fight scene where Tybalt fights Mercutio
the lighting does not change, the light remains clear and bright even after Mercutio dies. This
shows that lighting in Zeffirelli s version is not as powerful as the lighting does not reflect on the
characters and how they are acting but just as a light source so you could see what s happening in
the movie. On the other hand, Luhrmann s use of lighting was

Questions on the Rescue of the Chilean Miners
Over 30 Workers Trapped Introduction On August 5, 2010 the 121 year old San Jose copper and
gold mine collapsed in Southern Chile (trapping 33 miners beneath the surface). During the ordeal,
there was a tremendous public relations effort behind the scenes that was occurring. To fully
understand what took place requires looking at: the considerations for the different kinds of
stakeholders, the actions that must be taken before / after the message is delivered and creating
two sample communications for constituents. Together, these elements will provide the greatest
insights as to how information is released by taking the various viewpoints into account. (Lusted,
2012) What are some considerations to remember given the different roles and people in the
audience? During the process of communicating with everyone is when there will be different
roles for stakeholders. The way that this will occur is to take into account a number of factors to
include: the sensitivity of the message, what kinds of information are being conveyed and the tone.
The combination of these elements will help to inform the audience and provide a way of offering
a form of hope. (Lusted, 2012) (Coombs, 2012, pp. 243 281) What would be the potential needs of
the families of the miners in receiving a message about this incident? The needs of the families are
to receive pertinent information about their loved ones. This means that the company must take
into account: the sensitivity of the message,

Stereotypes Are Oversimplifications
Stereotypes are simply oversimplifications of certain groups of people that are broadly circulated.
This kind of a generalization does not allow for diversity within these groups and it may lead to
discrimination and stigmatization if the stereotypes that are related are negative. More so, positive
stereotypescan also be dangerous because of their limiting nature. Whether positive or negative, they
should generally be evaded. Whereas all stereotypes are oversimplifications, not all simplifications
are stereotypes. When one a person stereotypes, he recurrences the traditional mythology that is
present in a certain general public (Nittle, 2018).

Snow Globes Lab Report
Snow globes are made of clear glass, a transparent sphere with a scenic view and a plastic toy
inside the globe. The globe must be shaken to actuate the snow so the white particles can fall
gradually to reach the base. When the marble (object used for this experiment) falls, it experiences
two external forces which are; the gravitational forceand the aerodynamic (fluid resistance) drag
of the marble, which affects the rate of the marble. As the marble is falling, the speed is increased
due to the gravitational force, which is pulling the marble downwards to the base of the beaker
until it reaches the terminal velocity, where both external forces are equal. However, there are
factors that can affect the marble s terminal velocity, such as... Show more content on

However, the results are completely different. The results shown in the table, the water and
cornstarch solution is most suitable liquid to use in the snow globes due to its thick viscosity
compared to other solutions. Hence, the marble traveled slower as it created more drag onto the
marble. Nevertheless, the water itself had low viscosity compared to other solutions because the
marble reached the base faster of the measuring cylinder. As a result, it created less drag onto the
marble compared to water and cornstarch solution. Therefore, the thicker the solution, the longer it

Correlation Between Mental Illness and Violence and Crime...
Literature Analysis and Research Proposal of the Correlation between Mental Illness and Violence
and Crime Over the past few decades, many researches have strived to test and explain the
correlation between violence and crime and mental illness. Moore and Hiday (2006) assert that up
22% of inmates has a mental illness, sometimes containing more mental illness patients than many
psychiatric units. Due to these statistics it is evident how important it is to understand the causes of
the correlations between crime and violence and mental disorders. This proposal wishes to explain
and understand the possible correlation and the reasons for such correlation between mental health
illnesses and violence and crime. Further research to test... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These theories strive to explain how these factors may have an influence of crime and mental
illness. Social Learning Theory and Mental Illness The Social Learning Theory strives to show
how behaviors are acquired and maintained through various techniques. According to this theory,
three basic constructs are apparent. Differential association explains that a person engages
themselves in a group that has an acceptance toward crime as a possible means of obtaining
necessary life goals. People engaged in these groups learn to view crime as either positive or
negative. Differential reinforcement explains how well the participation in crime is accepted
and imitation is the final acceptance of the crime by observing others and committing the crime
as well. Applied to mental illness, individuals with mental illness are more likely to be engaged
with individuals of these ideals due to excessive exposure from close contact in low
socioeconomic areas. Social Stress and Mental Illness According to the Social Stress Theory,
crime and violence is related to the amount of stress felt in one s life. Applied to mental health, it
is proposed that mental illness will lead to stressful situations in life which will in turn lead to
crime and violence (Silver 2006). Stressful life events have shown a relation to an increase in

The Company Of Free Enterprise And Market Competition
The foundation of the United States economy is the foundation of free enterprise and market
competition. The competitive market allows consumers to benefit from price reductions, increasing
quality, and allowing consumers the freedom of choice. These ideas of free enterprise and market
competition are so crucial that they are protected by Congressional antitrust laws. As the Supreme
Court has explained, Antitrust laws in general, and the Sherman Act in particular, are the Magna
Carta of free enterprise. They are as important to the preservation of economic freedom and our
free enterprise system as the Bill of Rights is to the protection of our fundamental personal
freedoms. (Harris, pg. 197, 2014) The healthcare industry is incredibly... Show more content on

(Harris, pg. 214 217, 2014) The question is that can Dr. Stuart state a valid claim against the
doctors at General for their denial of her privileges under a three requirements of Section 1 of
the Sherman Act? Do the providers at General have a defense against Dr. Stuart s denial of
privileges within the restrictions of Section 1 of the Sherman Act? Furthermore, does Dr. Stuart
have a valid claim against the collaboration and coercions of General and Happy within Section 1
of the Sherman Act? Any application of Section 1 antitrust legislation must violate all three
claims: proof of conspiracy, restraint of trade, and effect on interstate commerce. The first
question poses the question of Dr. Stuart having a claim against General for violating section 1 of
the Sherman Act. The Sherman Act is composed of three claims as previously stated. The first
claim is the claim of conspiracy. In this claim, Dr. Stuart has no ground against the doctors of
General. This is because officers and employees of the same corporation cannot conspire with each
other or with their corporation, similarly two parts of the same organization cannot conspire with
each other. As the decision was made solely by the physicians and administrators of General, they
can not conspire with one another and therefore cannot commit conspiracy. (Harris, pg. 200, 2014)
The second claim is in regards to the restraint of trade. The type of restraint demonstrated would

Speech On The Moon Landing
In history, one of the greatest achievement known to mankind is the Apollo 11 moon landing. On
July 20, 1969, the spaceflight known as the lunar module Eagle, landed the first three humans on
the moon (NASA). The first human to step, and leave a footprint on the moon was mission
commander, Neil Armstrong. Climbing down the ladder, the words that he said are still
reminisced to this day, That s one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind (NASA). The
other two who were also part of this accomplishment was the pilot, Edwin Buzz Aldrin, and
Michael Collins.
Before this historic triumph, almost a decade before it occurred, the 35th president of the Unites
States, John F. Kennedy, on May 25, 1961, he proposed to the world the ambitious goal to put a
man on the moon before the decade if out (Logsdon 37). John F. Kennedy truly believed that it
was only a matter of time for them to make it possible since their technology was already too
advanced. There has been so much more that humans have been capable of and landing on the
moon sure was going to be one of them. As technology advances, humans are capable of so much
more, such as discovering nuclear power, the invention of the television, satellites, and computers.
These have proven that the intellectual knowledge in humans keeps expanding every single day,
making it possible to make more discoveries and accomplishments. John F. Kennedy was not able
to witness such success because two years later, after his speech, he

Over The Summer I Started Watching
Over the summer I started watching Shameless . I immediately fell in love with the shows drama
and dysfunctional family. After months of begging, I ve finally convinced my roommate to start
watching. While I ve seen every episode, I m watching again and realizing how important the
show is. If you haven t watched Shameless , I highly recommend doing so, because the show is
not only entertaining, but it s a wake up call and a reality check on things happening in your own
life.
I ll start you off with the basics: Starring Emmy Rossum and William Macy, the show focuses on a
very abnormal family, living in the ghetto of Chicago, the Gallagher s. Macy plays Frank, the
alcoholic (and mostly absent) father of six kids. The eldest of the kids ... Show more content on

Lip is the hottie every girl wants, and he has a hard time keeping a relationship. He falls in love
with his friends with benefits, and during their off times, he s sleeping with Ian s girlfriend (until he
comes out), once they fizzle out, he starts seeing his college professor (she s married and twice his
age...happens more than you think), and once things turn sour, he goes running towards his next
heartbreak.
There s also a major focus on addiction. I ve already mentioned Frank is an alcoholic, and he
spends all his money (from scams and disability) on alcohol, and when there s some extra left, he
picks up some crack and whatever other drugs he can get his hands on. His addiction is so bad,
he often blacks out (sometimes for months), and wakes up in another state or country. Lip seems
to be following in Frank s footsteps, especially after his relationship with his professor ends. His
drinking habits get him kicked out of school, and lands him in rehab. After he gets out, he keeps
his drinking habits under control, but eventually starts to spiral out of control when life gets tough.
Kevin, the Gallagher s neighbor, grows pot, and he and Lip sell joints to the locals over the
summer to make extra money. When Monica (the mother) decides to be in the pitcher, she and
Frank will blow through the family s money to get their

Marx s Term For Capitalist
Bourgeoisie: Page 10; Marx s term for capitalist, those who own the means of production.
The food production companies have accentually bought the government. If they come up with a
plan to produce more food, no matter how harmful it may be to the consumer, the government will
not step in to protect the citizen of Americans. As the bourgeoisie owns the industry, this fact has
been proven within the video of Food Inc. What is astonishing is that a company was actually
able to get a patent on life. How can a company be allowed to monopolize an entire industry?
That is depriving people of their basic human right of life, to eat healthy food, food that has not
been modified by harmful hormones or genetics. Several of the food production companies give
jobs to illegal immigrants and once their services are no longer needed, then the heads of these
companies call immigration to have them arrested and deported back to their home country. This in
turn saves the company money because they do not have to pay out anything for unemployment
wages for laying the employees off for a period of time. The food industry has really become the
bourgeoisie of this century.
Proletariat: Page 10: Marx s term for the exploited class, the mass of workers who do not have the
means of production.
In this case, this class of workers is the farmers and the people who work in the food production
plant. The farmers are forced to purchase seed from a company, which sells nothing expect GMO
seed.

Examples Of Daisy Buchanan In The Great Gatsby
On the other hand, Daisy Buchanan, the epitome of the aristocratic social class, was born into
the glory and prosperity that people wish to achieve in their dreams, and thus represents the
passion the Old Money class lacks by never having to chase an American Dream. In comparison
to Myrtle s vitality, Daisy is deficient in her devotions to strive towards a particular dream. After
marrying Tom, the values of the Old Money aristocracy led her to believe that there was nothing
else she could achieve because she had already fulfilled her role in society. Daisy s voice, her
inexplicable charm, is full of money (120); her prestigious persona is literally a representation of
her wealth and social class. The only discernible beauty in her voice... Show more content on

The nouveau riche class as a whole is characterized by Fitzgerald as moths among the
whisperings and the stars (39) in the way that the people are drawn toward things that tend to kill
them. Their determination for upward social mobility has led them to fulfill their American
Dream, but only to the extent of established wealth. A rebellion against aristocratic social conduct
leads to criticism and intolerance from the aristocratic community, leading to an unfulfilled
destiny of true social mobility. Although some of the nouveau riche class accept this distinction
from the aristocracy, Gatsby s dream and passion is nevertheless unfaltered by their judgments.
As he grew up in poverty, James Gatz s innocence and enthusiasm in his dream of social mobility
rapidly evolved into a desperate obsession with the aristocracy. His Platonic conception of himself
manifested in the ideal man of Jay Gatsby that only exists in the mind of James Gatz. Gatsby s
imagination led him to believe that his American Dream was a promise that the rock of the world
was founded securely on a fairy s wing (99). Nothing in comparison, even the harsh and bitter
burdens of reality, can ever outweigh Gatsby s strength and passion for his American Dream.

There are many ways to defined Canadian culture through different terms that make Canadian
culture, Canadian. Canadian culture can be found through artistic, musical, literary, culinary and
political and social elements. Dennis Lee believed that If you re Canadian; you don t really have a
place to call home . (Dennis, 1974). However, the landscapes in Canadaare known to be embedded
in notions of Canadian cultureshowing us the Canadian identity. In this paper, I will state how Rod
Charlesworth s landscape painting demonstrated Canadian culture by reviewing the importance
terms such as the Atwood s survival, group of seven, the environmental determinism, authenticity,
Canada as a northern country, and Northrop Frye s idea I have chosen a Canadian painting called
Algonquin painted by an artist named Rod Charlesworth. A little background information about the
artist, Rod Charlesworth, is that he was born in Terrace, British Columbia in 1995. Rod
Charlesworth artworks are majority influenced by Tom Thomson and the Group of Seven. He
studied art at Okanagan College, where he was able to express the beauty of Canadian landscape.
He is able to create Canadian culture through his painting, and his painting shows a strong Canadian

Phenomenon Of Korean Culture
Korean Drama is a television series, ranging from 16 to 30 episodes depending on its
broadcasting network. Each episode usually lasts an hour and is aired once or twice a week. One
of the popular terms incorporated with the advent of Korean Dramas is the term Hallyu wave .
Hallyu wave refers to a surge in the international visibility of Korean culture (Ravina, 2009, p.3).

The influx of Korean Dramas in the Philippine market became a hit during the early 2000 s and
some of the game changers for the increase in the popularity of Korean Dramas can be attributed

  • 2. New Hampshire Visit My mother held the reason for the family s New Hampshire visit, two tickets to a race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. While my parents attended the race in the sweltering heat, my sister, Catlyn, and I had the entire day to ourselves. We didn t have much of a plan besides spending the day without our parents. Catlyn and I agreed to explore the area around Hampton, starting near our hotel. We found a pamphlet for a group of outlet stores. Upon further inspection of the pamphlet, we realized that outlets were in Maine. This fact had confused us. To our knowledge New Hampshire and Maine seemed too far for a day s drive. When we found directions on our phones we noticed that it would only take twenty minutes. Wait, so it only takes twenty minutes... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We still had plenty of time in the day to get to Kittery, so Catlyn and I set off for Maine. As our parents didn t have the pleasure of knowing that we decided to drive to Maine, we thoughtfully sent them a picture of the Welcome to Maine sign, leaving them to question why we left the state. We arrived at Kittery sometime near noon. After walking around in the summer heat, we stopped at a Bose factory store. The moment we walked into the store we fell under a trance to try on every single pair of headphones. Ooh, noise cancelling, my sister said with a sarcastic tone. We compared pairs of headphones and enjoyed the cool air conditioning. We had to pick up every pair and check, possibly double check, the cushions and the way the headphones felt when we wore them. The time spent in the Bose store was well needed as the air conditioning was perfectly set to cool us during the warm day. After our folly in the store we decided to check the rest of the outlet stores to possibly find more nonsensical things to mess around with. We stopped into a store called Brookstone after. This store is known for its odd gadgets and assortment of massage chairs. This store didn t interest us as much because everything interesting was not out on display, but instead stuck inside a ... • 3. Decline In Youth Sports The decline in youth sports is affecting many people around the world today and it isn t just the kids themselves, or parents with children, it includes the average person. If the participation in youth sports continues to decline everyone will be affected in a negative way. As a society we need to get our kids back into sports so they can receive the benefits and the life lessons that they will hold onto for the rest of their lives. Sports can be a very important thing in many children s lives and it will have a positive effect on them forever. Decline in youth sports is a problem because it is hurting more than one person. Kids that do not participate in a sport are more likely to have bad grades, get into drugs and alcohol, get into ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Cost is a huge problem when it comes to kids participating in youth sports. According to athlete intelligence parents in the United States spend an average of $671 per year to cover different costs for sports. These costs may include the participation fee, uniforms, lessons, or coaching from a private club. As the kids get older they start participating in traveling leagues which can also be very costly. Overtime all of those things add up and can become very costly for families This is just in youth sports only, and the cost has increased and has been on the rise. Another problem would be under trained coaches or coaches that are not properly taught how to coach young children in youth sports. Farrey (2013) Only 1 in 5 coaches of youth teams of children under age 14 say they have been trained in effective motivational technique, and just 1 in 3 in skills and tactics in the primary sport they coach . Most of the coaches in youth sports today are fathers that have a kid in the sport, so that might be why they are coaching in the first place. Also they haven t been properly trained in the first place. According to NRPA there are roughly 3.5 million coaches in youth sports and the majority of them are volunteer coaches that lack the training to coach these kids. They are unable to teach the correct fundamentals and developmental skills to these kids, while at the same time have them enjoy the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Spanish American Independence It was known by the Spanish American War of name conflict occurred between Spain and the United States in 1898, culminating with the taking of Cuba, Puerto Rico and the Philippines to Spanish rule. With the exception of the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812, both fought against their former colonial power, Britain, this was the first war of the US against a European nation. The conflict, which lasted approximately eight months was also the first major military victory of the United States of a foreign power. Such a war signaled once the Spanish decline as a world power and catapulted the United States to the forefront of the global political disputes. • 5. The Catholic Views Of The Roman Catholic Church The Roman Catholic Church has consistently condemned abortion the direct and purposeful taking of the life of the unborn child. In principle, Catholic Christians believe that all life is sacred from conception until natural death, and the taking of innocent human life, whether born or unborn, is morally wrong. The Church teaches, Human life is sacred because from its beginning it involves the creative action of Godand it remains for ever in a special relationship with the Creator, who is its sole end. God alone is the Lord of life from its beginning until its end: no one can under any circumstance claim for himself the right directly to destroy an innocent human being ( Donum vitae, 5). The respect for the sacredness of life in the womb originates in Christianity s Jewish roots. The ancient Jewish world was much different from the surrounding cultures of Palestine where infanticide, infant sacrifice and abortion were not uncommon, and in some cases prevalent. For the Jewish people of those times and orthodox Jews to this day, all human life has as its author the one God whose creative power produces the child in the mother s womb and brings it step by step to full life. The Old Testament revelation, which the Church inherited and accepted, gives clear evidence that life in the womb was considered as sacred. Moses proclaimed, When you hearken to the voice of the Lord, your God, all these blessings will come upon you and overwhelm you: May you be blessed in the city, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

D alleged that P stated in writing that she would pay the debts (which she did not incur), even though it is understood that P did not make this guarantee. Court states that no such common law exists mainly because an issue such as this has not been dealt with by the court, it does not inherently mean there is no tort present. The court also looks at Restatement 2d В§ 46 which states One who by extreme and outrageous conduct intentionally or recklessly causes severe emotional distress to another is subject to liability for such emotional distress, and if bodily harm to the other results from it, for such bodily harm. Restatements 2d would consider the repeated attempt at unnecessary debt recovery the extreme and outrageous conduct. 6. Holding: As stated in the case: one who, without a privilege to do so, by extreme and outrageous conduct intentionally causes severe emotional distress to another, with bodily harm resulting from such distress, is subject to liability for such emotional distress and bodily harm even though he has committed no heretofore recognized common law tort. 7. Court s Order: As a result of this holding the court has established sufficient law entitles P to have her case heard before trial court. 8. Reason: We can understand the policy rational of the Court in making this decision. Being that there was no explicit law on the books, the Court felt that the best interest of society would call for an establishment of such a rule to allow the case to be heard. • 7. Those Who By Insight Know What Love Is Essay As any romantic will assert, love is by far the most powerful force known to human hearts and minds. This sentiment is espoused throughout history, almost to the point of clichГ©. Everyone has heard the optimistic statement, love conquers all, and The Beatles are certain, however idyllic it may be, that all you need is love. Humanity is convinced that love is unique within human emotion, unequalled in its power to both lift the spirit up in throws of ecstasy, and cast it down in utter despair. Loves power has suggested to many that it serves as a link to the divine, and that the feeling instilled in man by love comes from the supernatural, be it God or otherwise. The physical effect that love has on Dante is apparent whenever he is in its presence, that is, through a vision of Love himself or through being close to Beatrice. In their second encounter, nine years later, Beatrice is walking down the street where Dante is standing in fear and trembling. As she passes him, she greets him, of which he says, Such was the virtue of her greeting that I seemed to experience the height of bliss [...] I was filled with such joy that, my senses reeling, I had to withdraw from the sight of others. (5) It is after this encounter that Dante has his first vision of Love manifested, in which love says to him, Ego dominus tuus, or I am your master. Love is holding Beatrice in his arms, and in one hand, Dante s heart. Love bids Beatrice to eat the heart and then, weeping, the two ascend into heaven. It is clear that Dante is consumed, body and mind, by Love, and sees him as a divine force to which he must submit his will. Just as devout men who feel the influence and power of God within them give up their will and lives to the service of their Lord, so Dante gives himself to Love. So strong is his devotion that his thoughts are entirely consumed by Beatrice. The strain of such a state weighs heavily on Dante, such that his appearance reflects his turmoil and causes his friends to grow concerned. • 9. How Human Beings Can Conserve Primate As Valuable Species Animals and human beings come into contact with each other in the different environment across the world. This has been fostered by human settlement in most regions that were delegated for animals. Whenever there is a contact between human and animals, there is a chance for the development of a relationship. Although human beings are familiar with the interaction of companion animals like cats, human animal interaction also occurs in the context of farms, laboratories and in the wilderness (Davis, Schaffner, Smith 2005). Repeated relationship can lead to developing long term friendly relationship between animals and human beings involved. Various studies have been developed in an attempt of developing the most critical and rational measures that can be utilized to enhance and develop a human animal relationship (Campbell, Shideler, Todd, Lasley 2001). These research studies have in majority concentrated on domesticated species. This research paper is developed to critically analyze the human primaterelationship. The study critically is developed to show how human beings can conserve primate as valuable species. The primate is used to refer to the group of mammals that are intelligent and most developed in comparison to other animals. • 10. History Of Internet On The World Josh Margolis EMF140 November 2, 2015 History of Internet Before the the Internet was created, linking the world, human beings were already thinking with a connected mind. While messages obviously were unable to be transferred electronically, humans invented different ways to trade information and news with other people. Firstly was the post. In order to send a friend a message, a letter would have had to been written and mailed. Mailing messages was a long process, often taking days to get one message to another person. This method (still used today) was not the most convenient because there is no urgency or speed in mailing a letter. Luckily in the mid 1800 s the telegraph was invented. Sent for the first time in 1838, the telegraph was the first instance of sending a message (4). A telegraph is defined as the transmission of textual or symbolic messages without the physical exchange of an object. This is the first instance of a message being sent in a virtual sense (2). While messages could be delivered through the mail within a matter of days, a telegraph could be transmitted live. At the time this was quite a feat. When studying the creation of the internet, it is important to remember that not one single man directly created the web that we know today. Rather, many brilliant minds, over time, added and refined the experience for the greater good. Originally, the earliest version of the internet was constructed as a tool for US warfare. Epic Of Beowulf Argumentative Essay You have known about the brilliance of Beowulf the Great, slayer of the foul beast Grendel and of Grendel s reviled mother, who dragged the ring supplier to her den, much to her own lament; Beowulf, who slew the monster of the fortune store, the mythical beast who killed our kin for the loss of yet one gold glass. In spite of the fact that Beowulfs own cutting edge, Naegling, fizzled him in desperate hour, with the assistance of his brother Wiglaf, he put a conclusion to the reviled worm, however he lost his life in the fight. Presently you should know about the childhood of Beowulf and how he picked up the quality of thirty men in his grasp, the quality he used to tear the arm from the killing Grendel, the descendent of Cain, the main murder. King Hrethel, understood among the tribes, a honorable pioneer of the Geats, was as a father to Beowulf, however Beowulf was not the child of his loins. You know from the story of Beowulf the man that he conveyed the pennant of war into fight interestingly at seven years old. The Montreal Grand Prix website states, While the F1 and Indy cars feature open wheels and an open cockpit, NASCAR drivers are enclosed in a sedan styled vehicle. It s also the heaviest of the three, averaging over 3,250 lbs (1,474 kg) compared to just over 1,500 lbs (680 kg) for F1 and IndyCar. Other than the cars themselves, the three series have other comparable factors, such as their backstories. Each Motorsports division started in different regions. They were each started by different individuals or groups of people. According to NASCAR s website, the sport became more popular after the end of the second World War. In 1947, Bill France formed the first branch of NASCAR or the modern Monster Energy Series . Later, in the year 1982, members of NASCAR made a new series, which was given the name the Late Model Sportsman Division, which later became the XFINITY Series. There is also a third series, the Craftsman Truck Series, or the Camping World Truck Series that was formed, which uses trucks instead of cars. The NASCAR website explains how the sport started and how it expanded with the two additional series that it added. When the sport started, there was no organization. • 14. The Pros And Cons Of Unions In The Workplace Have you ever been in a situation where you didn t feel safe in an environment due to its working conditions? I have. Many times people in jobs feel the need to stay quiet and not defend their opinions because they are afraid of possibly losing their jobs if they speak their mind. However, what many people don t know is that as a human being, we have rights and with those rights you are allowed to be a part of a union in search of better opportunities. A union is when a group of employees gather together to use their strength to have a voice in their workplace. (L.A. Union, What is a Union?) Yes, that is correct, a voice that needs to be heard is what we all want. Of course, not all unions are good, but many have done well for the employees they have represented. Unions are very important to have in a company because it allows the employees to acknowledge their rights within the workplace, and also protects them from the employers. • 15. Ontology vs. Epistemology Ontology deals with questions concerning what entities exist or can be said to exist. What do we know? What are we certain of? What can we prove? What is the nature of existence? Epistemology is the study of knowledge. How do we know what we know? How can we establish truth and certainty? Are their limits to what we can know based on how we come to know it? These epistemological questions when combined with ontological questions have philosophers pondering what exists and how we know it exists. In A Certain Ambiguity, by Gaurav Suri and Hartosh Singh Bal, there was a constant question of proof. How do you go about proving something? Well the book suggests that it is only possible to prove something if you have a set of accepted axioms.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The first half of this quote explains that idea in a different way, Each society thought that their way was the natural way, the absolute way, and the certain way, but Protagoras and Sophists realized that one way was not anymore certain or real than any other way. They went on to generalize that every human idea is relative to the circumstances surrounding the originator of the idea, and that true knowledge is unattainable. (pg. 42) The second half of the quote intrigued me. People are too dependent on one another to formulate or recognize new truths. The movie Flatland showed how people s thoughts and ideas are limited to what they can see and what they experience. The circles were powerful and influential and clearly knew they could control the thoughts of their people. The circumstance surrounding the idea of the existence of the 3rd dimension was the shapes were to be punished if they disobeyed the circles and tried to prove there was a 3rd dimension. When someone finally stood out and fought to prove the existence of the new dimension, was when the people followed along because the new truth made more sense. If people keep looking at certainty with an oh look, something shiny attitude they are going to continue to be pawns in someone s game and are never really going to increasing their knowledge. Oh look, something shiny is used to express the way people react when they are told a new truth. Most people are not educated enough to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As the night approaches, soft breezes change the snow s direction from time to time. The wind slowly gets more powerful with every gust making it evident that the storm is entering its infant stage. The doors and shutters get buffeted ferociously as their henges scream in agony trying to hold on. While looking through the window, a nearby tree succumbs to the straining and splits with a loud crashing noise. The storm continues to maintain its power after the initial impact. In addition, the storm becomes too dangerous to witness, causing every being in the cabin to search for cover. The next morning, the sun rises through a light and gentle snow. Cautiously, everyone stumbles outside to notice that the barn withstood the storm. The anxiety of not knowing the extent of the damage is put to rest, and everyone returns to reality and can return to their daily lives. Essay On Electronic Vehicle Control Electronic Stability Control (ESC) ESC systems sense parameters such as yaw rate, steering wheel angle and lateral acceleration in order to detect differences between the intended and actual path of the vehicle. The system is then linked to the ABS and engine management system in order to differentially apply the brakes and/or reduce the engine power to individual wheels, thus generating yaw moments to correct the vehicles path. These systems are known by a variety of other proprietary names such as Vehicle Dynamic Controller (VDC) and Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) but are referred to generically as ESC in this report. Market penetration of ESC systems was estimated at 27% in Europe in 2002, and is expected to reach 50% in Europe by 2007 (Reed Electronics Research, 2003). Previous research indicates that ESC significantly reduced instability in test manoeuvres where substantial instability was encountered. It also suggests that ESC does not influence vehicle behaviour when a driver attempts to operate outside the physical limits of the vehicle. No significant disbenefits of ESC systems were found, and clear evidence of positive influence on safety and accident reduction was cited (Grover Knight, 2005). ESC is also now strongly recommended to all consumers by the EuroNCAP organisation (EuroNCAP, 2005). It is suggested that ESC must work to constrain vehicle behaviour to that expected by normal human driving behaviour. It does this either by producing similar ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Factors Affecting The Human Body In order for the Human Body to maintain balance within its internal environment or return systems to functioning within a normal range, it must manage a multitude of highly complex interactions in order to deal with external changes that are optimal for survival. The organs that help maintain homeostasis are the liver, the kidneys, and the brain through hypothalamus, the autonomic nervous system and the endocrine system. The main function of the liver is to metabolize toxic substance as well as stabilising carbohydrate metabolism. The kidneys are responsible for a number of things. They regulate bloodwater levels, re absorb substances into the blood, maintain salt and ion levels in the blood, regulate blood pH, and excrete urea and other wastes, however, there are many factors that can disrupt this process resulting in homeostatic imbalance which may cause disease or death. Factors that need to be carefully controlled are body temperature, water content, carbon dioxide level, and blood sugar level. It is crucial to ensure that these factors are maintained throughout homeostasis. A major factor that affects homeostasis, in general, is water and salt balance. Most people believe it is vital to stay hydrated during strenuous amounts of exercises however this is not necessarily the case for those embarking on the Kokoda track. Water plays a critical role in homeostasis. The amount of water in the body should be kept balanced all the time in order to prevent cells from being ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Introduction Membranes contain phospholipid bilayer these are two layers of phospholipids which are facing in opposite directions to each other. The non polar tails are hydrophobic which are water hating, what makes it difficult for polar molecules/ions to pass through them are the fatty acid tails which also act as a barrier to water soluble substances. These molecules move in and out of the cell by diffusion, osmosis and active transport. Diffusion is the net movement of particles down a concentration gradient for example when gases move about and will move from where there is a high concentration to where they are in lower concentration. By osmosis, the diffusion of water through the plasma membrane is possible because the lipids bilayers are water resistant to important molecules and small molecules like oxygen and carbon dioxide, these molecules and ions diffuse freely across the cell membrane. By active transport, ions and molecules are forced using metabolic energy to move against their concentrated gradient. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This question and the writing across the second going into third frame (9pm to 5am: Obey all the rules, you miss all the fun) demands us to pay attention through an open question and a rebellious overtone and essentially takes us to the last frame. In accordance with Fowles s theory everything I ve mentioned grabbed our attention and actually takes us to the next frame. This last picture of the ad was introduced by a passage from the second to third frame stating, 9pm to 5am: Obey all the rules, you miss all the fun . This in words is the essence of the ad letting you know that the pictures are a timeline, and it also says to live a little without being direct. Here the woman is on her knees in the middle of the bed. By centering the woman in the bed looking in what we perceive is the morning light we have no choice but to give this attention. Fowles says advertisers will exhibit the models, in their beauty and here we have a beautiful woman in the morning light sun ray making her face glow. • 34. Romeo And Juliet Comparison To Zeffirelli s Luhrmann uses lighting more effectively than Zeffirelli to portray the mood and emotions in the story of Romeo and Juliet. To begin with, Zeffirelli s use of lighting is very weak in his version of the movie, as he does not change the lighting to suit the characters behaviors and the overall feeling of the movie at the time. For example, during the fight scene where Tybalt fights Mercutio the lighting does not change, the light remains clear and bright even after Mercutio dies. This shows that lighting in Zeffirelli s version is not as powerful as the lighting does not reflect on the characters and how they are acting but just as a light source so you could see what s happening in the movie. On the other hand, Luhrmann s use of lighting was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Questions on the Rescue of the Chilean Miners Over 30 Workers Trapped Introduction On August 5, 2010 the 121 year old San Jose copper and gold mine collapsed in Southern Chile (trapping 33 miners beneath the surface). During the ordeal, there was a tremendous public relations effort behind the scenes that was occurring. To fully understand what took place requires looking at: the considerations for the different kinds of stakeholders, the actions that must be taken before / after the message is delivered and creating two sample communications for constituents. Together, these elements will provide the greatest insights as to how information is released by taking the various viewpoints into account. (Lusted, 2012) What are some considerations to remember given the different roles and people in the audience? During the process of communicating with everyone is when there will be different roles for stakeholders. The way that this will occur is to take into account a number of factors to include: the sensitivity of the message, what kinds of information are being conveyed and the tone. The combination of these elements will help to inform the audience and provide a way of offering a form of hope. (Lusted, 2012) (Coombs, 2012, pp. 243 281) What would be the potential needs of the families of the miners in receiving a message about this incident? The needs of the families are to receive pertinent information about their loved ones. This means that the company must take into account: the sensitivity of the message, ... This kind of a generalization does not allow for diversity within these groups and it may lead to discrimination and stigmatization if the stereotypes that are related are negative. According to the Universityof Alabama, the Ferguson Center is the heart is the University of Alabama s campus. Being a native of Tuscaloosa, I knew the Ferguson Center has always been a hot commodity student attraction. Originally, I planned to conduct observations on Saturday. There was not much interaction on campus. The Ferguson Center was closed. I drove to three (3) different locations on UA s campus before I realized students were not on campus. I chose to conduct observations on Monday, July 3rd because the Ferguson Center was closed on the weekend. Locating the Ferguson Center was difficult and confusing. Eventually, a University Police Officer gave me directions. As one walks to the Ferguson Center, they will see an open space for walking. In the walking area is a beautiful water foundation with patio tables and chairs surrounding it. The scenery is very relaxing and few students were sitting and socializing. • 38. Snow Globes Lab Report Snow globes are made of clear glass, a transparent sphere with a scenic view and a plastic toy inside the globe. The globe must be shaken to actuate the snow so the white particles can fall gradually to reach the base. When the marble (object used for this experiment) falls, it experiences two external forces which are; the gravitational forceand the aerodynamic (fluid resistance) drag of the marble, which affects the rate of the marble. As the marble is falling, the speed is increased due to the gravitational force, which is pulling the marble downwards to the base of the beaker until it reaches the terminal velocity, where both external forces are equal. However, there are factors that can affect the marble s terminal velocity, such as... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, the results are completely different. The results shown in the table, the water and cornstarch solution is most suitable liquid to use in the snow globes due to its thick viscosity compared to other solutions. Hence, the marble traveled slower as it created more drag onto the marble. Nevertheless, the water itself had low viscosity compared to other solutions because the marble reached the base faster of the measuring cylinder. As a result, it created less drag onto the marble compared to water and cornstarch solution. Therefore, the thicker the solution, the longer it takes for the marble to reach the base of the measuring cylinder. Social Learning Theory and Mental Illness The Social Learning Theory strives to show how behaviors are acquired and maintained through various techniques. According to this theory, three basic constructs are apparent. Differential association explains that a person engages themselves in a group that has an acceptance toward crime as a possible means of obtaining necessary life goals. People engaged in these groups learn to view crime as either positive or negative. Differential reinforcement explains how well the participation in crime is accepted and imitation is the final acceptance of the crime by observing others and committing the crime as well. Applied to mental illness, individuals with mental illness are more likely to be engaged with individuals of these ideals due to excessive exposure from close contact in low socioeconomic areas. Social Stress and Mental Illness According to the Social Stress Theory, crime and violence is related to the amount of stress felt in one s life. Applied to mental health, it is proposed that mental illness will lead to stressful situations in life which will in turn lead to crime and violence (Silver 2006). Any application of Section 1 antitrust legislation must violate all three claims: proof of conspiracy, restraint of trade, and effect on interstate commerce. The first question poses the question of Dr. Stuart having a claim against General for violating section 1 of the Sherman Act. The Sherman Act is composed of three claims as previously stated. The first claim is the claim of conspiracy. In this claim, Dr. Stuart has no ground against the doctors of General. This is because officers and employees of the same corporation cannot conspire with each other or with their corporation, similarly two parts of the same organization cannot conspire with each other. As the decision was made solely by the physicians and administrators of General, they can not conspire with one another and therefore cannot commit conspiracy. • 41. Speech On The Moon Landing In history, one of the greatest achievement known to mankind is the Apollo 11 moon landing. On July 20, 1969, the spaceflight known as the lunar module Eagle, landed the first three humans on the moon (NASA). The first human to step, and leave a footprint on the moon was mission commander, Neil Armstrong. Climbing down the ladder, the words that he said are still reminisced to this day, That s one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind (NASA). The other two who were also part of this accomplishment was the pilot, Edwin Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins. Before this historic triumph, almost a decade before it occurred, the 35th president of the Unites States, John F. Kennedy, on May 25, 1961, he proposed to the world the ambitious goal to put a man on the moon before the decade if out (Logsdon 37). John F. Kennedy truly believed that it was only a matter of time for them to make it possible since their technology was already too advanced. There has been so much more that humans have been capable of and landing on the moon sure was going to be one of them. As technology advances, humans are capable of so much more, such as discovering nuclear power, the invention of the television, satellites, and computers. If they come up with a plan to produce more food, no matter how harmful it may be to the consumer, the government will not step in to protect the citizen of Americans. As the bourgeoisie owns the industry, this fact has been proven within the video of Food Inc. What is astonishing is that a company was actually able to get a patent on life. How can a company be allowed to monopolize an entire industry? That is depriving people of their basic human right of life, to eat healthy food, food that has not been modified by harmful hormones or genetics. Several of the food production companies give jobs to illegal immigrants and once their services are no longer needed, then the heads of these companies call immigration to have them arrested and deported back to their home country. This in turn saves the company money because they do not have to pay out anything for unemployment wages for laying the employees off for a period of time.
