International Business Environment
GFC and the Debt Crisis
After the global financial crisis in 2008, and the debt crisis in late 2009, which are the start of the
nightmare of the global economy, in early 2012, the global economy are expected to enter into
recovery phase, the International Monetary Fund made an announcement that the world economy has
an expected global economic growth rate at 3.5%, however, the two cuts of the forecast in April and
October (now to 3.3%) shows that the prospect of the global economy situation is not really very
good, actually 2012 is the slowest year of the growth since 2009.
But, the thing is that according to World Bank s announcement, the expected growth rate has been
divided into two parts, developing countries with a growth rate of 5.3% and advanced countries with a
growth rate of 1.4% .( World Bank database,2012)
The rapidly growth of Asian Pacific region
After a significant transformation during the 2000s, the Asian Pacific region countries became a part
of the global supply chains, also the very aggressive consumer power based on the large population,
the low labour cost and high productivity have made this region part of a non ignorable global
recovery power and most

Essay On Baroque And Renaissance
Unit 4 Written Assignment
Revival and Rebirth in Europe: The Renaissance, Baroque and Rococo
Introduction
The three stylistic periods, following the original classical era, the Renaissance, Baroque and Rococo
saw many changes in art. This was influenced by many factors, such as scientific development,
revolution in the case of the Rococo as well as one of the key factors that the church was no longer
such a key patron of the arts.
These factors would have had a profound influence on have art developed during these three periods
preceding the classical era of art. This paper will discuss the relationship between growing scientific
knowledge and art. Scientific developments at the time had a profound influence on how art itself
developed. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although there was certainly an application of realism involved, certainly in easel art. For example,
Dutch realist painting. However, it certainly used knowledge acquired through scientific research from
previous eras.
The realist approach continued to flourish in much later eras until the 1700s, even though art didn t
benefit from such scientific developments. Previous knowledge was essential right up until the 1700s
(Encyclopedia of Art History, n.d.).
Conclusion
The relationship between art and science become fundamental in the renaissance era. This relationship
became mutually beneficial, not only did science help create techniques such as linear perspective or
knowledge of the human anatomy, but science benefited with knowledge. This is due to artists being
heavily involved in such research to perfect art, hence the term scientific realism.
Art has been a motivation, driven by the desire to make art increasingly more realistic. There are three
key developments in science which have aided this realism. Perspective, Geometry and the research

What Is The Difference Between Romeo And Juliet 1968 Play
For never was a story of more woe than this of Juliet and her Romeo. William Shakespeare. Romeo
and Juliet is a tragedy written by William Shakespeare early in his career about two young star crossed
lovers whose deaths ultimately reconcile their feuding families. It was among Shakespeare s most
popular plays during his lifetime and along with Hamlet, is one of his most frequently performed
plays. The 1968 film version of Romeo and Juliet is a British Italian romance film based on the tragic
play by William Shakespeare. The film was directed and co written by Franco Zeffirelli, and starred
Olivia Hussey as Juliet Capulet, and Leonard Whiting as Romeo Montague. The film of 1968 is by far
the best and most adapted version of the play, and most popular version as well. ... Show more content

This version was the first to use actors who were close to the age of the characters from the original
play. Not only were the actors age very accurate, their portrayal of the characters were so believable
because the actors playing Romeo and Juliet actually fell in love in the making of the film. All of the
actors of the film played their characters very well and made them come to life. Olivia and Leonard
told the story of Romeo and Juliet very accurately not only through their lines but with their body
language. Viewers can really feel the emotional connection between the two. All the relationships
between characters was spot on, my favorite being Lord Capulet and Paris. Although the acting
throughout the film was very good, some scenes weren t as good as the others. The worst scenes
would have to be the deaths of Mercutio and Tybalt. Those two death scenes were very unbelievable
and unrealistic and didn t give viewers the burden of emotion as

Marcus Scagliety s Life
This is the story of Marcus Scagliety, a fairly recognized American novelist. Marcus was born and
raised in New York, but once he became of age, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue his dream of
becoming a writer. By the time he was 25, Marcus had published his first bestseller, love is life, a
romantic novel. This early success, along with Marcus good looks and erotic mojo led him to become
the absolute definition of a man living in the Aesthetic stage. Marcus used the earnings from his first
novel to purchase a beach house in Malibu, and a Porsche so that he could prove to the world, what a
cool and accomplished father he was. The first year after his novel was published was filled with

The doctor decided that the most prudent thing to do was to carry out blood analysis, to confirm what
the problem truly was. Marcus had never gotten a blood analysis before, therefore he did not know
what to expect. It took 48 hours to receive the results, and once the doctor received them, he
immediately called Marcus into his office, to tell him the news. Marcus arrived into the doctor s office
as soon as possible, and once he was there he could not wait to hear the news, hoping it would be
something minor; Unfortunately, it was far from it. The doctor informed Marcus, he appeared to have
contracted AIDS. This news destroyed Marcus morale; he felt, as if all he had done had come to a
tragic end. The doctor advised Marcus to inform the women he had had sexual relations about the
possibility of them contracting it, which would not be an easy task, considering the vast quantity of
women it had been over the years. For Marcus, this was an eye opening moment. First of all, He
decided to do the right thing, and make it public that he had been diagnosed with AIDS. Secondly, he
decided to become completely celibate, to stop the spread of the disease. Thirdly, he created a fund, to

Making Yeast Doughs
There are four basic ingredients used in making yeast doughs flour, water, yeast and salt. Lean doughs
contain these four, with or without addition of little sugar or fat. So how come there are so many kinds
of different breads: crunchy baguette, chewy bagel, soft rolls...? Proper manipulation of these same
ingredients can result with large variety of breads. If you add some more fat, sugar and eggs to this
mixture, you will make enriched yeast dough. Making Yeast Doughs There are nine basic steps in
making yeast dough: 1. Scaling the Ingredients It is important to measure ingredients accurately and it
is preferable to have them at the proper temperature. All ingredients combined and well kneaded
should reach 25ºC. The amount of flour may vary depending on the humidity level and the amount of
protein in the flour. Flour with more protein will absorb more water. 2. Mixing and Kneading the
Dough The yeast dough must be kneaded properly so the ingredients are combined uniformly and the
gluten is developed. There are several methods of mixing the yeast dough. Straight Dough Method is
the simplest and the most common method of mixing yeast dough. Yeast is firs dissolved in water, and
then it is added to flour and salt mixture. After that dough id kneaded until smooth and elastic. Sponge
Method has two stages. First yeast, liquid and half of flour is mixed to make a thick batter sponge (Fr.
poolisch). The sponge is then left to rise until doubled in size. After that

him to command only the Army of the Potomac. Chief of Staff, Peyton March, sent a telegram to
McClellan in refence to his orders and instructed him to speak first to Governor Dennison. Suspicious
of this message McClellan refused the invitation to Washington or to speak to Dennison. Later, the
General wrote to his wife that the rascals of Washington were after him again and that if he could

What Gave Public Enemy the Right to Call Elvis and John...
Tyler Brown #211711710 In the 1960 s Elvis Presley and John Wayne stood together as the coat of
arms for the American Dream and embodied societies perceptions of white supremacy. Their
seemingly endless fan base and mass appeal, coupled with a whitewashed legacy , distinguished them
as icons amongst a vast range of underrated and extremely talented colored artists. Chuck D and Flava
Flav articulate their disdain by labeling them as racists and insulting them in Public Enemy s most
notorious song Fight The Power. What right did they have in doing this? John Wayne was an
extremely popular Movie star at the time, during an interview with Playboy in 1971; he stated, I

This focused the attention of the public, less towards the whitewashed media and art forms, and more
towards the black community. This immense stardom and fame was the quintessential element that
justified black artists like Chuck D and Flava Flav expressing their dislike for him. Fight The Power
was written to depose societies prejudiced attitudes in segregated America. The reason black
performers then and now feel bitter towards him was that he was getting all the attention while they
were struggling to get noticed. To add insult to injury, Elvis was even dubbed the King of Rock . It is
no wonder that after a long battle by the black community to fight for their right to create art and
distinguish themselves, uproar would ensue when a charming white man incorporated their songs,
their style and their flare into his act. This left black artists infuriated; Fats Domino, Chuck Berry and
Little Richard who pioneered the sounds and styles, received no recognition for their contribution and
brilliance. To these pioneers, Public Enemy and black artists in America, it was frustrating to see time
and time again a white artist take a style from any group of colour and gain acceptance and popularity.
Elvis used the tunes, rhythms and performance style from black artists and far overreached the cultural
acknowledgement of the originals. Chuck D stated in an interview that his attacks were against Elvis s

Disadvantages Of Mobile Technology
Mobile technology gives people the power to build community and bring the world closer together, as
we can connect our loved ones far and near. Regardless of where one resides, communication and
strong community can be possible with the help of mobile technology. When I came to the United
States back in 2012, I was homesick. There was not a lot that I could do to connect with my friends
and relatives back home, other than send them texts or call them. Now, with more advanced
technology that I am exposed to, I can video call on Facebook Messenger. I have been video calling
my friends and relatives back home since 2013. Although we are living different lives, with the help of
the Facebook Messenger, we are able to share our experience with one another. I am used to this
feature, and I cannot imagine myself losing touch with my friends and relatives back home, as I learn
from their experiences just as I tell them about mine. The reason I have not gone back home since
2012, is because of Facebook s video calling feature. I did not feel a need to go see my friends and
relatives because I was able to see them through video calling. When I video call, I am usually with
my friends. That way I am able to connect my Indian friends with my American friends and form
community between the two. With the help of mobile technology, we are able to build community
across a broader area. When some crisis happens, the public is made aware of it through social media.

Compare And Contrast Obama s Four Freedom Speech
I believe that freedom the idea of freedom from fear has not changed over time. There are many things
in the world that change, such as the situation of a country s economy or a countries moral standpoint.
I will be analyzing President Franklin Roosevelt s Four Freedom Speech and President Obama s
welcome speech delivered whilst he was visiting a British Prime Minister in 2012.
President Roosevelt presented some very essential freedoms in his Four Freedoms Speech for the
American people, and others in the world alike. These freedoms are freedom of speech and expression
everywhere in the world, freedom of every person to worship God in his own way everywhere in the
world, freedom from want, and freedom from fear. In his speech, President Roosevelt also mentions
that is no vision of a distant millennium. It is a definite basis for a kind of world attainable in our own
time and generation... which basically means that all these freedoms are attainable now if we as a
people work toward them. He then makes it clear that a free nation stands for human rights
everywhere, and mentions that America is a free nation. President Roosevelt is firm in his belief that
these four freedom s are essential for a good society. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

say We believe that our citizens should be able to live free from fear... along with ...or endanger the

The Christian s Acts Of Faith
We ve all been there before, searching for something to watch on TV, 500 channels and nothing
catches our attention until we hear the yelling of the televangelist, YOU JUST GOTTA HAVE FAITH!
QUIT TRYING TO UNDERSTAND IT ALL! LET GO AND LET GOD! For some that may be the
solution they are searching for. They might be frustrated or let down by their own efforts of
understanding. But does faith begin with letting go (of reason and understanding) and letting God
(reveal Himself to us) ? Is there any compatibility between exercising Christian faith and exercising
reason? Does reason have a role or should it have a role in the Christian s acts of faith? This has been
a topic of discussion throughout history by many great thinkers. I am going to attempt to show that
reason has an active role in exercising the Christian faith; at least attempt to show that reason and faith
aren t mutually exclusive. I will briefly discuss (1) different views of the philosophical divide taken by
philosophizers over the ages (2) and biblical evidence of the use of reason (3) definition of biblical
faith.
The apparent conflict between faith and reason has brought much trouble to believers and non
believers alike through the centuries. Influences like Immanuel Kant in his Critique of Pure Reason

faith (1965, B:XXX) and Soren Kierkegaard held that the absolute limit to which our reason

Beerohm Response
2. The distinction Beerbohm makes between going out for a walk and being taken out for a walk is
that going out for a walk requires your own motivation and pride. He thinks that going out for a walk
escorts your brain to shutdown mode, as shown when he says, My objection to it is that it stops the
brain...This boast is not confirmed by my memory of anybody who on a Sunday morning has forced
me to partake of his adventure. He also thinks that going out for a walk means that it is your body s
way of saying you are, in a sense, superior, as shown when he says, The body is going out because the
mere fact of its doing so is a sure indication of nobility, probity, and rugged grandeur of character.

This excuse does not work because 1) it is not believed, 2) it forces you to improvise some sort of
action, whether it be writing a letter or cleaning your house, and 3) it won t operate on Sunday

sake may be as highly laudable and exemplary a thing as it is held to be by those who practise it. My
objection to it is that it stops the brain. This is his thesis because he is putting forward a
statement/theory which must be proved. 5. This essay is an informal essay. This is because through out
this essay, the author writes in first person, as shown when he says, It is a fact that not once in all my
life have I gone out for a walk. The use of I and my prove that he is writing in first person. This is also
an informal essay because the author relates certain points to his own life, which is shown when he
says, We pass an inn. He reads vapidly aloud to me: `The King s Arms. Licensed to sell Ales and
Spirits. Here, the author is relating to his experience walking while out for a walk with an
acquaintance. This essay is informal because of the tone. The tone of this essay is very loose and
comedic. This essay is informal because the structure is very loose, and rather unorganized. The
author jumps from personal experiences to personal thoughts, and there is no first, second, third type
of structure. Finally, this essay is an informal essay because the purpose is to reflect

she says she doesn t even have time to even think about dating. It s hard because relationships require
a lot of time and attention, Sheena said. But I heard the best place to meet someone is in the campus
library. She is not the only student who feels this way about dating. Many college students find it hard
to juggle their social life with school and work. Being in school makes their time short and money
tight. Not only is it hard to find the time to date while in college, but it s a

Comparison of the Tempest and Forbidden Planet Essay
Jamie Roberts
ENGL 1000P2
Prof. B. Johnson
8 February, 2010
Morbius Fatal Folly
As pointed out by Merrell Knighten in his essay called The Triple Paternity of Forbidden Planet, the
main difference between Shakespeare s The Tempest and the 1956 science fiction adaptation
Forbidden Planet (referred to as FP) is the use and control of power. In The Tempest, Prospero knows
what power he holds through the use of his books and spells, and ultimately uses these powers to
restore order to the island. However, in forbidden Planet, Morbius powers are unknown to him and
ultimately lead to his demise. This essay will show how Morbius may be considered a more disastrous
character than Prospero due to his lack of realization of the power which ... Show more content on

For Miranda s lover Ferdinand, the film inserts Commander Adams who is in fact the leader of the
rescue expedition sent to relieve Dr. Morbius and his supposed companions. There are no relations
between the film and the play with regards to Morbius fellow colonizers of Altair 4, but this has to do
with the fact that the film was a sci fi adaptation. The drunken butler Stephano is countered in the film
with the Tennessee bourbon sloshing space cook. The character of Caliban resonates in the film by use
of the Id monster, and finally Ariel is engrossed through the character of Robby the Robot. A closer
reading of some of the characters in FP will reveal parallels outlined by Campos. Campos shines light
on the fact that [Prospero and Morbius] are figures that, isolated from the rest of mankind, have
devoted their lives to the study of some books which have granted them an extraordinary, almost
supernatural power (Campos, 285). The main connections between the two are their utilization of
science and magic. As pointed out by Campos, the film gives a clear implication that science becomes
the magic of the future (286). This statement seems to be truthful as in Shakespeare s time magic
would be thought to be no different from the scientific breakthroughs of our time. For example a
Shakespearean audience would marvel at the strides science has taken in the modern day, such as the
utilization of electricity.

Bromination of Trans- Stilbene to Form 1,2- Dibromo-...
Bromination of trans Stilbene to form 1,2 Dibromo 1,2 diphenylethane Abstract 1,2 dibromo 1,2
diphenylethane was produced by the bromination of trans stilbene through the addition of
hydrobromic acid (HBr) and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). This experiment was a greener bromination
of stilbene because bromine was generated in situ and ethanol was used as the solvent. The melting
point (243.30°C), mass (.427g), and percent yield (45.54) of the crystals were recorded. The FTIR was
used to confirm that the product was produced. The peaks on the HNMR revealed the presence of
aliphatic and aromatic hydrogens and were used to verify the identity of the product. In addition, the
melting point of the crystals was also used ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Molecular And Extinction Of Fear Memories Of The Brain...
C. APPROACH: Based on our preliminary data on lncRNA changes in specific regions of the brain
associated with contextual fear, we hypothesize that specific lncRNAs mediate consolidation and
extinction of fear memories. To test this hypothesis, the Puthanveettil and Stackman laboratories will
bring together their strong expertise in genomics, bioinformatics, noncoding RNAs, genetics,
behavioral models, non coding RNAs, bioinformatics and functional, in vivo manipulations of novel
molecular players. We will employ a research strategy that starts with an unbiased, genome wide
analysis of lncRNAs and funnel down to key players, at which point mechanisms of action will be
identified. First, unbiased expression analysis of lncRNAs will be carried out with contextual fear
conditioning following extinction of contextual fear memory. Second, we will then carry out in vivo
manipulation of specific lncRNAs in specific regions of the brain to determine necessity of the
expression of specific lncRNAs in consolidation and extinction of fear memory. We anticipate that our
studies will establish the functional importance of candidate lncRNAs in consolidation and extinction
and provide novel insights into the novel molecular regulators and mechanisms underlying
development of PTSDs. All of the genomics, bioinformatics and rodent behavior analyses will be
carried out locally, at Scripps Florida and FAU, with confocal imaging experiments being performed
across the street at the Max Planck

The Ones Who Walked Away from Omelas
The Ones Who Walked Away from Omelas Samantha Clements ENG 125 February 18, 2013 The
Ones Who Walked Away from Omelas is to some people, a very disturbing story; but, it is nothing
short of the truth when speaking of today s society. Can a city really exist where there is nothing but
happiness forevermore? No, it cannot, not without consequences; as shown in Le Guin s story. Good
vs. Evil is a definite underlying theme in The Ones Who Walked Away from Omelas. The goodness
and happiness in the city of Omelas comes only by the misery and sacrifice of an innocent child. Good
cannot exist without evil. In this story, the child helps the people of Omelas measure their own
happiness; because if the child in the cellar was not so ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Matchmaker Analysis
The golden age of the big budget musical may remain lost to the annals of old Hollywood, some may
argue that classics will always be better than their reimagined counterparts, but this is hardly the case
in all circumstances. The 1969 big screen adaptation of Hello, Dolly! proves that sometimes the
original star power of a cast can be overridden decades later. The 2017 Broadway revival of Hello
Dolly! supports the idea that while people may become accustomed to hearing a song a certain way, a
new interpretation of the materials can lead to blockbuster success. Despite the glitter and grandeur of
the on screen film adaptation s costuming and set design, the 2017 iteration of the musical, based on
Thornton Wilder s play The Matchmaker, shows that big budgets and sweeping landscapes are not
needed; opting to go with garishly bright pastels and impeccable choreography to stir the imaginations
and win the hearts of millions of theatergoers.
Starring Barbra Streisand and Walter Matthau, the 1969 film certainly attempted to bring the star
power but hostility that developed between Walter Matthau and Barbra Streisand (TCM) turned into
anything but a love story when presented on the big screen. Both actors shared a mutual dislike that
caused a very clear disconnect onset, where Matthau refused to be in the same room as Streisand
unless they were filming (TCM). In front of the camera, Mathau comes across as a crass old
businessman who cares for no one but himself, while

Complementary And Alternative Medicine ( Cam ) Essay
Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) had risen considerably in the past decades. The use
of CAM is widespread. Many individual countries have used the term for the CAM definitions
approach when discussing the practices and products. The interest and use of CAM in healthcare
systems are integrating various methods with origins outside of mainstream medicine for treatment
and health promotion. Different countries have view and used CAM within their regulations.
Body
General definition of CAM
Firstly, one of the most widely used for CAM definitions is, the World Health Organization
(WHO)defined CAM as: a broad set of health care practices that are not part of a country s tradition
and not integrated into the dominant health care system. Other terms sometimes used to describe these
health care practices includes natural medicine , non conventional medicine and holistic medicine.
(World Health Organisation, 2004).Secondly, the US National Institutes of Health (NIH) National
Centre for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM) come across with CAM defined : as a
group of diverse medical and health care systems, practices, and products that are not presently
considered to be part of conventional medicine.Alternative medicine often refers to the use of
therapies as substitutes for biomedical treatment, and complementary medicine refers to the use of
such therapies in conjunction with biomedicine with CAM. (NCCAM, 2007).
It is important to realize CAM

Script Analysis Of ( 500 ) Days Of Summer
Script Analysis (500) Days of Summer
(500) Days of Summer is a film directed by Marc Webb. This film is about Tom, a lovesick romantic
who is blinded side when Summer, the love of his life, dumps him. He falls in love with her. But she
doesn t fall in love with him. He shifts back and forth through various periods of their 500 days
together to try to figure out where things went wrong.
For the most part, Webb was successful in translating the emotion of the script to the motion picture.
Each page of the script was about this hopeless romantic named Tom and his recollection of where
things went wrong with his girlfriend, Summer. Tom was retelling the story of how he met Summer in
bits and pieces. These pieces were essentially flashbacks. But in a way, they were transitions that
worked in really well into the film by the use of the amount of days he was with Summer. So instead
of having flashbacks all over the film with poor transitional cues, the screenplay was written with the
number of days that tied in with the event for that certain day. This helped keep the emotions of the
film intact because of the transitional cue cards. Each day was shown on the screen with a picture of a
tree that changes with the mood of scene and Tom. Which is supposed be comparable with the
changes of the seasons which is now the feelings of Tom. Another thing that was omitted from the
film that was in the screenplay was the use of animation for certain parts of the script. In the script,

Network Connectivity Issues Can Crop Up At Any Time
Network connectivity issues can crop up at any time and the issues seen could be related to any area of
the network or Internet that a user is connected. There are several programs that could be used to help
determine where the error or issue may reside. The four programs that will be reviewed are ipconfig,
ping, tracert and nslookup. Ipconfig is a program on Windows systems that show network settings for
the network adaptors on the computer system. Microsoft describes ipconfig as Displays all current
TCP/IP network configuration values and refreshes Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP)
and Domain Name System (DNS) settings ( Ipconfig, n.d.). Running ipconfig without any options will
show the adaptor s IP address, subnet mask and default gateway settings. To gain more information
about the adaptor the /all option should be used (Figure 1). Two items that is important is DCHP
Enabled and the DHCP server. If DHCP Enabled is set to yes, then the IP address is supplied by the
DHCP server. The next program could be used to determine if the host could communicate with the
DHCP server and other hosts or network devices. Ping is used to determine if a host or network device
is reachable on the network. Ping can be thought of like ping pong. The ping command sends out a
request to an IP address and waits for a response. If a host or network device is running, setup to
respond to ping requests and the response is sent within the timeout, then a response

Different Meanings And Meanings Of The Religion Of Hinduism
Hinduism
The four terms Braham, Karma, Moksha and Atman are key terms in the religion of Hinduism each
with different meanings and contributions to the understanding and following of the Hindu faith.
Brahman
To begin with Braham can t exactly be defined. It is believed to be the truth and reality, Hindus
believe that Brahman is the one supreme being; Brahman is absolute and formless and is the universe.
Brahman is not a God as such but is more like a spirit which is everywhere from India to your cutlery
draw at home. Brahman is the unchanging reality among and beyond our world, it upholds and
supports everything. Some Hindus relate this power to Atman (themselves) while others disagree.
Karma
The dictionary defines karma as destiny ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Moksha is defined as the fourth Artha and is the highest of all Artha s, you can achieve Moksha during
this life, or after death and it is the most highly regarded goal in Hinduism. A useful analogy of
Moksha is by viewing your soul as a green bird which rests in a green tree. We are the bird and the
tree is the supreme god, when you land into the tree Moksha is achieved, you are just like the supreme
god, no longer ignorant and desiring anything, but still your own person. It is the unification of man
and God.
Atman
Atman is defined as eternal self; it is basically your natural soul without egos and falseness, and
underlies our true existence. Atman is the idea of exposing yourself as a spiritual being rather than a
material being, so in reality you could say that you are a spiritual being (Atman) having a human
experience rather than the opposite. Atman is present in every living thing from us humans to the little
flower in the back of your garden, it is everlasting, and from a human point of view your body is a
house for the atman to dwell in.
Importance of the above terms
Following on the importance of Moksha, Brahman, Karma and Atman are as follows. To begin with
Moksha is significant to Hindu s as it is the release from the cycle of death and rebirth, and sets them
free from all the pain and suffering experience in this world. It is a significant concept to them as it is
one of their main goals. Brahman is significant

Epic Of Gilgamesh Literary Analysis
Themes, characters, settings, and motifs are essential elements for any literary work. The authors of
the books combine these elements with their own unique understanding of the story that they wish to
narrate to their audience. Scriptural accounts of events that define the doctrines and practices of
Christianity depend on the literary elements. The Bible is a book of immense value to the followers of
the Christian faith in the sense that themes of love, sin, mortality, divinity, punishments are told
through stories of individuals and societies. The Epic of Gilgamesh is a Mesopotamian book that was
written long before the Bible. A comparison of the literary elements show several similarities that lead
many religious and cultural scholars, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Epic of Gilgamesh revealed that after his sexual encounter with Shamhat, the herd rejected him
due to his lack of innocence, which made the beast to flee his body and scattered the gazelle (Bird 99).
In his analysis of the story of the women in the Bible, Phyllis Bird stated that the comparison of the
events that resulted in the movement of Adam from the Garden of Eden and those with the mythical
ones documented in the ancient books such as the Epic of Gilgamesh highlighted its uniqueness. He
also explained that Eve s intention was different from that of the Harlot sent by Gilgamesh to test
Enkidu. The book of Genesis shows that Eve s inquisitive nature made her succumb to the trick of the
snake. In contrast, the Harlot s motive was to utilize the sexual urges of Enkidu to gain his trust and
fulfill the purpose of civilization.
The Flood that Destroyed the World
The accounts of the floods that destroyed the world due to the sins and wickedness of humans are
similar and different in many important ways. Historians and scholars in religious studies have
conducted comparative studies to examine both flood accounts. According to Fleming and Sara, the
tablet of the Epic of Gilgamesh that contained the account of the Flood wrote that Utnapishtim was
commanded to build a ship that would be big enough to weather the

Romeo and Juliet is a tragedy written by William Shakespeare early in his career about two young star crossed lovers whose deaths ultimately reconcile their feuding families. It was among Shakespeare s most popular plays during his lifetime and along with Hamlet, is one of his most frequently performed plays. The 1968 film version of Romeo and Juliet is a British Italian romance film based on the tragic play by William Shakespeare. The film was directed and co written by Franco Zeffirelli, and starred Olivia Hussey as Juliet Capulet, and Leonard Whiting as Romeo Montague. Not only were the actors age very accurate, their portrayal of the characters were so believable because the actors playing Romeo and Juliet actually fell in love in the making of the film. All of the actors of the film played their characters very well and made them come to life. Olivia and Leonard told the story of Romeo and Juliet very accurately not only through their lines but with their body language. Viewers can really feel the emotional connection between the two. All the relationships between characters was spot on, my favorite being Lord Capulet and Paris. Although the acting throughout the film was very good, some scenes weren t as good as the others. The worst scenes would have to be the deaths of Mercutio and Tybalt. Those two death scenes were very unbelievable and unrealistic and didn t give viewers the burden of emotion as ... Tyler Brown #211711710 In the 1960 s Elvis Presley and John Wayne stood together as the coat of arms for the American Dream and embodied societies perceptions of white supremacy. Their seemingly endless fan base and mass appeal, coupled with a whitewashed legacy , distinguished them as icons amongst a vast range of underrated and extremely talented colored artists. Chuck D and Flava Flav articulate their disdain by labeling them as racists and insulting them in Public Enemy s most notorious song Fight The Power. What right did they have in doing this? Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This focused the attention of the public, less towards the whitewashed media and art forms, and more towards the black community. This immense stardom and fame was the quintessential element that justified black artists like Chuck D and Flava Flav expressing their dislike for him. Fight The Power was written to depose societies prejudiced attitudes in segregated America. The reason black performers then and now feel bitter towards him was that he was getting all the attention while they were struggling to get noticed. To add insult to injury, Elvis was even dubbed the King of Rock . It is no wonder that after a long battle by the black community to fight for their right to create art and distinguish themselves, uproar would ensue when a charming white man incorporated their songs, their style and their flare into his act. This left black artists infuriated; Fats Domino, Chuck Berry and Little Richard who pioneered the sounds and styles, received no recognition for their contribution and brilliance. To these pioneers, Public Enemy and black artists in America, it was frustrating to see time and time again a white artist take a style from any group of colour and gain acceptance and popularity. There was not a lot that I could do to connect with my friends and relatives back home, other than send them texts or call them. Now, with more advanced technology that I am exposed to, I can video call on Facebook Messenger. I have been video calling my friends and relatives back home since 2013. Although we are living different lives, with the help of the Facebook Messenger, we are able to share our experience with one another. I am used to this feature, and I cannot imagine myself losing touch with my friends and relatives back home, as I learn from their experiences just as I tell them about mine. The reason I have not gone back home since 2012, is because of Facebook s video calling feature. I did not feel a need to go see my friends and relatives because I was able to see them through video calling. When I video call, I am usually with my friends. That way I am able to connect my Indian friends with my American friends and form community between the two. With the help of mobile technology, we are able to build community across a broader area. • 18. Compare And Contrast Obama s Four Freedom Speech I believe that freedom the idea of freedom from fear has not changed over time. There are many things in the world that change, such as the situation of a country s economy or a countries moral standpoint. I will be analyzing President Franklin Roosevelt s Four Freedom Speech and President Obama s welcome speech delivered whilst he was visiting a British Prime Minister in 2012. President Roosevelt presented some very essential freedoms in his Four Freedoms Speech for the American people, and others in the world alike. These freedoms are freedom of speech and expression everywhere in the world, freedom of every person to worship God in his own way everywhere in the world, freedom from want, and freedom from fear. In his speech, President Roosevelt also mentions that is no vision of a distant millennium. It is a definite basis for a kind of world attainable in our own time and generation... which basically means that all these freedoms are attainable now if we as a people work toward them. He then makes it clear that a free nation stands for human rights everywhere, and mentions that America is a free nation. President Roosevelt is firm in his belief that these four freedom s are essential for a good society. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 19. The Christian s Acts Of Faith We ve all been there before, searching for something to watch on TV, 500 channels and nothing catches our attention until we hear the yelling of the televangelist, YOU JUST GOTTA HAVE FAITH! QUIT TRYING TO UNDERSTAND IT ALL! LET GO AND LET GOD! For some that may be the solution they are searching for. They might be frustrated or let down by their own efforts of understanding. But does faith begin with letting go (of reason and understanding) and letting God (reveal Himself to us) ? Is there any compatibility between exercising Christian faith and exercising reason? Does reason have a role or should it have a role in the Christian s acts of faith? This has been a topic of discussion throughout history by many great thinkers. I am going to attempt to show that reason has an active role in exercising the Christian faith; at least attempt to show that reason and faith aren t mutually exclusive. I will briefly discuss (1) different views of the philosophical divide taken by philosophizers over the ages (2) and biblical evidence of the use of reason (3) definition of biblical faith. The apparent conflict between faith and reason has brought much trouble to believers and non believers alike through the centuries. Influences like Immanuel Kant in his Critique of Pure Reason penned these words: I have therefore found it necessary to deny knowledge in order to make room for faith (1965, B:XXX) and Soren Kierkegaard held that the absolute limit to which our reason repeatedly is ... Johnson 8 February, 2010 Morbius Fatal Folly As pointed out by Merrell Knighten in his essay called The Triple Paternity of Forbidden Planet, the main difference between Shakespeare s The Tempest and the 1956 science fiction adaptation Forbidden Planet (referred to as FP) is the use and control of power. In The Tempest, Prospero knows what power he holds through the use of his books and spells, and ultimately uses these powers to restore order to the island. However, in forbidden Planet, Morbius powers are unknown to him and ultimately lead to his demise. For Miranda s lover Ferdinand, the film inserts Commander Adams who is in fact the leader of the rescue expedition sent to relieve Dr. Morbius and his supposed companions. There are no relations between the film and the play with regards to Morbius fellow colonizers of Altair 4, but this has to do with the fact that the film was a sci fi adaptation. The drunken butler Stephano is countered in the film with the Tennessee bourbon sloshing space cook. The character of Caliban resonates in the film by use of the Id monster, and finally Ariel is engrossed through the character of Robby the Robot. A closer reading of some of the characters in FP will reveal parallels outlined by Campos. Campos shines light on the fact that [Prospero and Morbius] are figures that, isolated from the rest of mankind, have devoted their lives to the study of some books which have granted them an extraordinary, almost supernatural power (Campos, 285). The main connections between the two are their utilization of science and magic. As pointed out by Campos, the film gives a clear implication that science becomes the magic of the future (286). This statement seems to be truthful as in Shakespeare s time magic would be thought to be no different from the scientific breakthroughs of our time. For example a Shakespearean audience would marvel at the strides science has taken in the modern day, such as the utilization of electricity. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 24. Molecular And Extinction Of Fear Memories Of The Brain... C. APPROACH: Based on our preliminary data on lncRNA changes in specific regions of the brain associated with contextual fear, we hypothesize that specific lncRNAs mediate consolidation and extinction of fear memories. To test this hypothesis, the Puthanveettil and Stackman laboratories will bring together their strong expertise in genomics, bioinformatics, noncoding RNAs, genetics, behavioral models, non coding RNAs, bioinformatics and functional, in vivo manipulations of novel molecular players. We will employ a research strategy that starts with an unbiased, genome wide analysis of lncRNAs and funnel down to key players, at which point mechanisms of action will be identified. First, unbiased expression analysis of lncRNAs will be carried out with contextual fear conditioning following extinction of contextual fear memory. Second, we will then carry out in vivo manipulation of specific lncRNAs in specific regions of the brain to determine necessity of the expression of specific lncRNAs in consolidation and extinction of fear memory. We anticipate that our studies will establish the functional importance of candidate lncRNAs in consolidation and extinction and provide novel insights into the novel molecular regulators and mechanisms underlying development of PTSDs. All of the genomics, bioinformatics and rodent behavior analyses will be carried out locally, at Scripps Florida and FAU, with confocal imaging experiments being performed across the street at the Max Planck ... The Matchmaker Analysis The golden age of the big budget musical may remain lost to the annals of old Hollywood, some may argue that classics will always be better than their reimagined counterparts, but this is hardly the case in all circumstances. The 1969 big screen adaptation of Hello, Dolly! proves that sometimes the original star power of a cast can be overridden decades later. The 2017 Broadway revival of Hello Dolly! supports the idea that while people may become accustomed to hearing a song a certain way, a new interpretation of the materials can lead to blockbuster success. Despite the glitter and grandeur of the on screen film adaptation s costuming and set design, the 2017 iteration of the musical, based on Thornton Wilder s play The Matchmaker, shows that big budgets and sweeping landscapes are not needed; opting to go with garishly bright pastels and impeccable choreography to stir the imaginations and win the hearts of millions of theatergoers. Starring Barbra Streisand and Walter Matthau, the 1969 film certainly attempted to bring the star power but hostility that developed between Walter Matthau and Barbra Streisand (TCM) turned into anything but a love story when presented on the big screen. This film is about Tom, a lovesick romantic who is blinded side when Summer, the love of his life, dumps him. He falls in love with her. But she doesn t fall in love with him. He shifts back and forth through various periods of their 500 days together to try to figure out where things went wrong. For the most part, Webb was successful in translating the emotion of the script to the motion picture. Each page of the script was about this hopeless romantic named Tom and his recollection of where things went wrong with his girlfriend, Summer. Tom was retelling the story of how he met Summer in bits and pieces. These pieces were essentially flashbacks. But in a way, they were transitions that worked in really well into the film by the use of the amount of days he was with Summer. So instead of having flashbacks all over the film with poor transitional cues, the screenplay was written with the number of days that tied in with the event for that certain day. This helped keep the emotions of the film intact because of the transitional cue cards. Each day was shown on the screen with a picture of a tree that changes with the mood of scene and Tom. Which is supposed be comparable with the changes of the seasons which is now the feelings of Tom. Another thing that was omitted from the film that was in the screenplay was the use of animation for certain parts of the script. In the script, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Network Connectivity Issues Can Crop Up At Any Time Network connectivity issues can crop up at any time and the issues seen could be related to any area of the network or Internet that a user is connected. There are several programs that could be used to help determine where the error or issue may reside. The four programs that will be reviewed are ipconfig, ping, tracert and nslookup. Ipconfig is a program on Windows systems that show network settings for the network adaptors on the computer system. Microsoft describes ipconfig as Displays all current TCP/IP network configuration values and refreshes Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) and Domain Name System (DNS) settings ( Ipconfig, n.d.). Running ipconfig without any options will show the adaptor s IP address, subnet mask and default gateway settings. To gain more information about the adaptor the /all option should be used (Figure 1). Two items that is important is DCHP Enabled and the DHCP server. If DHCP Enabled is set to yes, then the IP address is supplied by the DHCP server. The next program could be used to determine if the host could communicate with the DHCP server and other hosts or network devices. Ping is used to determine if a host or network device is reachable on the network. Ping can be thought of like ping pong. The ping command sends out a request to an IP address and waits for a response. We are the bird and the tree is the supreme god, when you land into the tree Moksha is achieved, you are just like the supreme god, no longer ignorant and desiring anything, but still your own person. It is the unification of man and God. Atman Atman is defined as eternal self; it is basically your natural soul without egos and falseness, and underlies our true existence.
