Biblical Genealogy Is Important For Establishing Identity
Prior to this passage, Jacob moved his family to this region in Canaan and bought land from Hamor,
instead of remaining with Esau and kinfolk (Gen 33:18). Now in a land known to worship false gods,
Jacob and his family are vulnerable and separated from a community of likeminded practitioners.
When Genesis 34 begins, we learn the lineage of Dinah as Leah s daughter with Jacob (Gen 34:1).
Biblical genealogy is important to establishing identity as it expresses idealized understandings of
families. Leah is the daughter of Laban to which Jacob was tricked into marriage (Gen 29:21 25).
Leah, after birthing several sons, delivered a daughter for which she named Dinah (Gen 30:21). As a
sister with several older brothers, the assumption is that Dinah was sheltered and naïve since she is
alone in the city without an escort. Moshe Reiss in The Family Relationship of Simeon and Dina
states, She is under her father s protection and it seems unlikely that she went out without permission.
The term ‫ֵ֤צא‬ ‫ַוֵּת‬ ‫ות‬ ‫ֹ֖א‬ ‫ְר‬‫ִל‬ (went out to visit) causes much debate among critics as it is seen as an
inappropriate behavior for a young lady. The phrase went out to visit implies interaction with
outsiders. Dinah would not have gone out without knowing where she might be headed, as it would
have left her vulnerable and invited trouble. Without any further details, it is implied that travel was
accepted and a coexistence among the groups was present and generally peaceful.

Setting Off For College
When you attend a university life will turn out to be considerably more less demanding and you ll
increase substantially more money. While you were a youngster you were dependably informed that
you would attend a university. Setting off for college is important to have a simple lucrative life on the
grounds that on the off chance that you stop at a secondary school level instruction or drop out you
will have an immense avoidance from many openings for work. Regardless of the possibility that
some fruitful individuals with simply secondary school certificates or on the off chance that they drop

School is exceptionally costly and businesses are searching for something that schools don t educate.
They esteem individuals who are self coordinated: who can set objectives, step up, and prevail at
work. What is additionally wild about school is that in light of The New York Times Increasingly that

what you could do by simply heading off to the library for nothing and not by any means attending a
university. Elements that hurt school incorporate into state or out of state educational cost, living on or

specific degree or program. The high cost of school has brought about many individuals to scrutinize

Public Speaking Self Reflection
Public Speaking Self Reflection
COM/128
May 11, 2014
Public speaking has always been very hard for me, I ve never been the type to stand in front of an
audience and speak or do a presentation. No matter how many times I ve done presentations I ve
always get nervous or shy and always forget what I rehearsed. In the military I was training Nco,
everytime we had a new marine check in to our unit or are shop. I would be the one to give them and
the A presentation on what is expected of them and also give them information about the unit and our
shop. In my opinion the Marine Corp prepared me for public speaking, especially if you where lower

What do you want to accomplish in this course?
Whether I like it or not I been given the opportunity to talk to large crowds like a squadron or just a
couple of people in the class. My problems have always been the same getting shy, anxiety, and even
sweating. Learn to analyze the size of the audience, I want to be able to captivate my audience and
overall I just need to find the confidence in myself to do it.
How would you plan to improve weak areas to accomplish your goals? Overall no matter how many
times I do a rehearsal or practice I always get stage fright. Stage fright is my weakest area I have done
rehearsals and private or with one or two people but when it comes to the bigger picture I always
freeze. I need to learn to speak with confidence and try to get the audience involved instead of rushing
the presentation or speaking very softly so no one hears me I need to be able to let the audience know
that I am confident and the information that I am sharing is worth their time to listen and learn

Please someone help me! Those were the very words my grandmother had screamed in Malayalam,
our native language, while laying motionless and gasping for air. I sprinted across my aunt s living
room with screams of my family echoing in my ear and quickly dialed 911. Without any hesitation,
my mother who is a nurse practitioner fell to her knees and started CPR. It took two unbearable hours
for an ambulance to arrive they were completely unprepared. That night I saw a glimpse of a
healthcare system that was not only dysfunctional, but was understaffed and over worked. This
ultimately contributed to the death of my grandmother. After the wake and funeral services had

Four doctors offered four different surgeries for his radical prostatectomy; with each of them
guaranteeing their method was the best. How could that be possible? From yet another experience, I
came to the realization that being a healthcare provider was just not enough. In our ever changing
health care system, we need leaders that have a toolbox of personal traits that include managerial and
financial skills in order to be successful. My job as a medical assistant at Kurucz Medical, a
Rheumatology and Internal Medicine office, has provided me with the understanding of our healthcare

Problems Revealed In Shakespeare s Romeo And Juliet
Romeo and Juliet is a famous play. which deals with tragic love between two supposed enemies.
William Shakespeare, the author of the play is universally known as a magnificent poet who wrote
numerous famous poems, comedies, histories, and tragedies. Shakespeare crafted a tragic love story
with problems between parents and children, negative effects of long standing quarrels, and fate, luck,
and coincidence as central themes. Without these themes, Romeo and Juliet would not be the
catastrophic love story that is so well known and appreciated today. Firstly, Shakespeare wrote Romeo
and Juliet with the theme of problems among parents and children. One problem that was displayed
was in the first scene when Romeo is unable to tell his father why ... Show more content on

The star crossed lovers meet because of fate. What are the chances of two sworn enemies meeting let
alone falling in love? The stars led Romeo and Juliet together. The servant can not read, asks Romeo
to read the quest list, and Benvolio pushes Romeo to go to the masquerade. It is out of Romeo and
Juliet s control that they met; it was fate. Shakespeare also explores the idea of fate in his play by
letting the audience know certain things about his characters. In the prologue of the play, Shakespeare
tells the audience what is going to happen to the Romeo and Juliet: from forth the fatal loins of these
two foes, A pair of star cross d lovers take their life; (prologue 5 6). This introduces the idea of fate
into the play and prepares the audience for what is to come The idea that the lovers will take a
different path is suggested throughout the play. Coincidence is also a theme written throughout Romeo
and Juliet. For example, it is a coincidence Paris is at Capulet s tomb the same time Romeo is. It is late
at night and Paris had already gone to Juliet s service. It is a coincidence Paris is there at the tomb that
ultimately got him killed. Shakespeare s tragic play made great use of fate, luck, and coincidence,
especially at crucial moments in the

Essay on The Effects of Immigration on the United Kingdom
Migrants are defined as all those who were born outside the UK and were known as aliens or
foreigners . Kostakopoulou calls this assumption into question, arguing that aliens are by definition
outside the bounds of the community by virtue of a circular reasoning which takes for granted the
existence of bounded national communities, and that this which takes for granted the existence of
bounded national communities, and that this process of collective self definition is deeply political and
historically dated. The composition of the current UK migrant population has of course been
conditioned by immigration policy over the past 50 years. Immigration has become a major debate
across the UK, with many different reasons given for and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Honeyford made an interesting and yet controversial quotation, which was from a French intellectual,
Fannon that wrote.
It s a just reparation which will be paid to us. Nor will we acquiesce in the help for underdeveloped
countries being a program of sisters of charity. This help should be the ratification of a double
realization: the realization by the colonized peoples that it is their due, and the realization by the
capitalist powers that in fact they must pay.
Sir Jones revealed that Britain has grown complacent and that migrants should not be blamed for the
nation s unemployment as they are willing to work for low wages and possess the skills and education
that Britain no longer provide for their own workforce .His opinion was shared by the Home Secretary
s, where they stated:
I want the message to go out loud and clear that Britain will remain open for business. Our economy
will remain accessible to the best and the brightest in the world... as the Prime Minister said
entrepreneurs will be welcome.
Legrain considers the advantages of immigration in his book and clearly defends the concept of
immigration. He is determined to argue the benefits

Analysis Of The Passage By Dalton Trumbo
¨Parents act so strong for us, that we often forget just how fragile they are.¨ As we grow we often find
ourselves not spending as much of our free time with our parents as we had when we could barely
speak a sentence without having bad grammar. This maturing state is something all of us experience.
We become more interactive with sports, friends, relationships, and we forget who gave us this
wonderful life. In the following stories of ¨ The Passage¨, ¨Through the Tunnel¨ , and ¨American
History¨ the author utilizes dialogue to indicate the disconnection from their parents in the journey to
adulthood.
In the story The Passage By Dalton Trumbo, the author portrays coming of age and the beginning of a
new chapter in life through the dialogue between the protagonist, Joe, and his father. The bond
between Joe and his father is exhibited as very stable and happy. Their bond displays the attachment
every adolescent acquires with their parents; as we learn almost everything basic to life from our
parents. This short story suggests that at one period in time we start to grow out of adolescence into
young adults and begin to detach from our forever known guardians and heroes. We begin to mature
and become more distracted with friends, school, sports, etc.. Joe, in this short story, depicts this
detachment from our parents as we grow for example in paragraph two: Now he was 15 and Bill
Harper was going to come tomorrow... Tomorrow for the first time in all their trips

My Mexican Heritage
I really did not think there was anything extraordinary about my culture and heritage because I have
lived in a Crystal City, Texas my whole life. Being Mexican American was really the usually thing so I
did not consider anything special of it, but my history has shown me otherwise. Living in a small town
has shown me that I can leave a legacy, keep the heritage of my family alive, and still strive to have an
education. Even though I live in a small town, it still holds a lot of history. The walkout in Crystal
City, Texas was a major event that made Mexican Americans remembered. In Cynthia Orozco s article
she says the Crystal City High School walkout happened because Chicano s were not being giving

the fields again, so my mother decided to go with him. Though, after a few years they decided to stop

Workplace Mediation
Unit 1
AO1 Describe the causes and effects of workplace conflicts
Conflict is an inevitable and is part of business life, where there are people there will always be
conflict, not all conflict is negative. Some workplace conflict s healthy and if viewed positively,
however where unhealthy conflict is present it has a potential risk to cause the company serious
problems Workplace conflict can be in many forms from serious flare ups to less obvious, but less
destructive forms of negativity. Workplace conflict can be caused by personality clashes or style
differences and personal. Workplace factors such as poor leadership, poor management, unfair

Low trust can paralyze the business because conflict situations are addressed with ridicule, anger, or
silence and results in fear of conflict, and lack of commitment. In the same company the MD promised
staff things but would never carry them out, this made staff frustrated and they did not trust anything
he said and this generated a very poor work environment. Under performance can create more
conflict, have a major effective on the business strategy, productivity, morale of other team members.
Resulting in failure to pass on information or act on information received, withdrawal or non
communicative behaviour, aggressiveness towards others, lengthy absences from the work area,
excessive or unexplained absenteeism, unusually delayed completion of work. In my experience under
performance is generally down to poor management or the style of the manager. Covert sabotage is
deliberate damage to work processes and of management s efforts and usually occurs when employees
are angry at their employer but it can be directed at fellow employee especially when conflict exists. A
good example of this was when I was an apprentice on of my colleagues had the lock of his tool
cabinet filled with glue which meant he could not unlock it and get his tools out to start work. It later
came to light that this was done by one of his colleagues because he was always getting the best jobs
and he was the foreman s favourite. Low morale has a destructive effect on performance,

How Does Edgar Allan Poe Use Alliteration In Poetry
Tintinnabulation I know, Poe. Again. Truth be told I do not know many other poetic authors. Nor did I
have a large mental library of poems to draw from. Yet, I digress. Typically, I do not take the copout. I
try to take on every new assignment as a new opportunity to expand my knowledge or learn something
new. When it comes to poems though, that shelf is bare. I have only started caring about poems for the
last six weeks. I like poems, I simply do not have prior experience with them. So, I took a copout, and
chose The Bells by Eager Allen Poe. This poem is heavy in two distinctly poetic elements. Assonance
and Alliteration. Assonance is the repetition of the Vowel sounds at the end of a word, were

In the second half of the poem the tone also makes a shift and becomes distinctly Poe. Strangely the
third line of the third stanza is What tale of terror, now, their turbulency tells! (Poe). This line sticks in
your head like the refrain of the most recent and obnoxious pop song. The alliteration from here just
keeps getting better. Starting with the next line and on to the eighth, In the startled ear of night / How
they scream out their affright! / Too much Horrified to speak, / They can only shriek, shriek, / Out of
tune, (Poe). So, the key words here are, scream, speak, and shriek. There is no brain trickery here just
the same consent. There is also a line that is only in the first and last stanza that is In a sort of runic
rhyme (Poe) this line creates a sort of image. Runic, or a rune is an incantation that is written on an
object to create a permeate effect. So, the runic rhyme hints toward a more mystical element to the
bells. This is a foreshadowing of the last stanza. This line is first used in line ten and is not seen again
till line 94. In the last stanza, is where that poem hits a runic apex of alliteration. This excerpt from the
fourth stanza, I personally feel, is a good representation of the poem. What a world of solemn thought
their monody compels! / In the silence of the night, / How we shiver with affright / At the melancholy
meaning of their tone! (Poe). This is my favorite part of this poem. Solemn silence shiver, melancholy
meaning, and their tone are all alliteration. These four lines are build up to the next three. For every
sound that floats / From the rust within their throats / Is a groan. (Poe). Then with the assonance of
tone, floats, throats, and groan in combination with the metaphor in the second line creates a striking
image. The metaphor in the line From the rust within their throats (Poe), is not like the typical
metaphor. Though this metaphor does

Summary Of The Film Imperfekt Strangers
The film Imperfekt Strangers revolves around a pseudo Christian cult the Faith Community that is
based in Bloomington, Indiana. In the film, there are two Indiana University students who are
roommates with two members of the cult. This movie reflects from actual events that happened in the
1970s in Bloomington, Indiana. The pseudo Christian cult the Local Church that was held in
Bloomington was led by Witness Lee who tried to gain members through college students and others
around in the city ( Are ). Throughout the film, the two roommates who are part of the cult tries to
convince the other two roommates, Steve and Tyler to join the cult. However, tension builds up with
the cult members and the students when they would not convert and Steve s best friend Richie ends up
joining the Christian cult. Furthermore, Steve and Tyler end up worried and concerned around the
other roommates because their practices of following Christianity are eerie; they become
uncomfortable with the other followers who would also come to the house to preach. Likewise, Steve
and Tyler then confront their roommate Matty that they do not want to partake in the cult. At the end,
the two roommates Harold and Matty leaves Tyler and Steve. Due to the film being based on true
events, Matt Walls character Tyler is deemed to be the most believable character in the film and
convincing that all these events are naturally occurring on a day to day basis.

Value of a Bachelors Degree
June 1, 2013 ENG 112 0011S Is a Bachelors Degree Only Worth the Prestige? Having a bachelor
degree was a way of showing how successful you have become in your life. The value of these
degrees has come into question recently. The value of a bachelor s degree has dropped significantly
over the years. We will look into why the value of the degree has depreciated over the years. For
starters, someone with a Bachelors degree could have expected to receive top priority when being
considered for a job position. Today, a bachelors degree might get your foot in the door for an
interview, but with so many competitors, landing the actual job might prove to be more difficult.

Perhaps worst of all, even those who do manage to graduate too, rarely end up in careers that require a
college education. Many college graduates are still unemployed because they have not been able to get
a job in their field or have took another job that has nothing to do what they went to school for.
(Nemko 561).The store clerk at your local grocery store could hold a Bachelor s in Science and is
waiting for his or her dream career. Forty eight percent of employed college graduates are in jobs that
require less than a four year degree (Adams). Students that are more likely to get a job out of college
are those that are in STEM (science, technology, engineering or math). These graduates have almost a
fifty percent more chance of landing a job that requires them to have a four year college degree than
none STEM graduates. One of the reasons graduates is having a hard time finding a job is because
companies are offshoring. Moving their companies overseas has saved them a lot of money because
production and labor is less expensive. Some of the business that has left some of their offices in the

Introduction
There are primary neurological brain abnormalities in individuals with schizophrenia. According to

EXAMPLE 2 Concerto RV 522 and BWV 593/III/105 107
Bach also changes the passages consisting of fast repeated notes that are impossible to perform on the
organ.
EXAMPLE 3 Concerto RV 522 and BWV 593/I/72 75
We can also see Bach changing the way of notating to make it easier for the performer to play the
particular section of the piece.
EXAMPLE 4 Concerto RV 522 and BWV 593/III/76 79
In a harpsichord concerto in F major BWV 978 there is only one section in which Bach modified the
violin figure based on the repeated notes and changed it to a more harpsichord like figuration with the
repeated note at the top. The short and airy tone of the harpsichord allows, unlike the organ, to easily
assimilate the violin parts.
EXAMPLE 5 (BWV 978 / III / 56 71)
Let s now talk about the most important changes changes in the texture.
Bach made the texture more dense by using the motives more often. When it comes to the organ
concerto, it meant adding extra voice in the middle
EXAMPLE 6 Concerto RV 522 and BWV 593/I/6 8
As we can see, Bach added a semiquaver motive that works as an imitation to the middle voice
(marked with a) and also added a broken chord motive in the middle voice that is followed by the
original motive in the top voice (marked with b). Thanks to

Map Case Study
Haloperidol is one of the choice treatments for treating MAP. Haloperidol is also an aggressive
dopamine blockade (antagonist) which has been hypothesized to worsen craving and reduces
motivation to continue medication and which may lead to a high chance of a drug relapse. Quetiapine
targets dopamine D2 and serotonin 5 HT2A receptors and therefore may have fewer side effects that
may lead to a lower risk of drug relapse. The aims of this study were to compare the antipsychotic and
adverse events of quetiapine, an atypical antipsychotic drug, to haloperidol, a standard treatment for
primary psychotic disorder, in individuals with MAP. It is hypothesized that overall Quetiapine may
be a better option for treating MPA because it may help ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The study was approved by the local ethical Committee of the Thanyarak Institute and was performed
with ethical standards based on the declaration of Helsinki. Patients were randomly assigned into
either a quetiapine group consisted of 36 patients or a haloperidol group consisted of 44 patients by
block randomization. The quetiapine group had 30 males and six females there mean age was 25.2. All
quetiapine group used speed pills and 11 also used ice (crystal meth). There were 13 female and 31
males in the haloperidol group. The mean age was 22.8. All users in this group used speed pills and 15
used iced (crystal meth). The quetiapine group was started at 100 mg per day and the haloperidol
group started at 2 mg per day orally, once a day at bedtime. This study lasted 4 weeks. The pharmacist
at Thanyarak Institute created identical capsules of quetiapine and haloperidol. They also used block
randomization. The treatment was blinded for the patients, investigator, doctors and research nurses.
The doses for quetiapine were increased from 100mg to 200mg to 300mg every five days if psychotic
symptoms continued. Haloperidol was increased from 2mg to 4mg to 6 mg every five if psychotic
symptoms continued. If violent aggression occurred and need to be controlled immediately, 10 mg of
diazepam was admitted every 4 hours. Psychotic symptoms were measured using the Positive and
Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS). The PANSS was scored every day in the first week, then every 2

Informative Essay
Supernatural is a television series produced by Warner Bros. staring Jared Padaleki and Jensen Ackles.
The show is about two brothers who hunt supernatural (hints the name) things. Jared plays the little
brother, Sam Winchester, and Jensen plays the big brother Dean Winchester. Sam and Dean s mother
was killed on Sam s 6 month birthday by a special demon with yellow eyes. The demon went into
Sam s room and Mary went to check on him. When she saw a figure standing there, she assumed it
was her husband John Winchester, until she went downstairs and saw John watching TV. She

7:00 8:00 central time, on The CW. Supernatural is around the top 9th longest running TV show.
Jensen and Jared (the main characters) both have things they support, like charities. They both have
charities, and campaigns they start. Jensen has three children and a wife. Jared has two children and a

The South Beach Diet
The high starch carbohydrates the grains and cultivated root foods which are now such a large part of
our diet are quite new in evolutionary terms. For over seven hundred thousand years our ancestors ate
a diet of primarily meat, fat, nuts, wild roots, fruit and berries. They did have other uses for
carbohydrates they fermented them, fuelled their fires with them, built with them and fed them to their
animals. Recent discoveries of prehistoric human fossils have astounded scientists. These were the

Comparing The Fable Tortoise And The Geese
1. How is a tale different from a fable in length and content? Be sure to have read the information in
your text. A fable is shorter than a tale. A fable is a brief often humorous narrative told to illustrate a
moral. In contrast, a tale is a short story that illustrated a series of events in a summary without
detailed descriptions of its characters. 2. What lessons are taught in the first two fables ( Samarra and

Wilfred Owen s Anthem for Doomed Youth Analysis Essay
Wilfred Owen s Anthem for a Doomed Youth is exactly that, an anthem ( a solemn song) to
commemorate the innocent youth, whose lives were taken to soon by war. By using the word anthem,
he calls to mind the glory and honor of a national anthem, however; he goes on to explain that there is
no honor or glory in death, pairing the words doomed and youth together creates so much sorrow as
well, it provides a woeful impression as it foretells of young people having no hope. Written in sonnet
form, it is an elegy for the dead. The octave deals with auditory images of war and death and the sestet
deals with more visual images. Wilfred Owen masterfully uses both imagery and figurative language
to convey his lament for these young people who died. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Owen gives the sonnet a powerful, negative connotation from the very beginning. He implies with this
phrase a dehumanization of the soldiers as well as the fact that war causes human beings to treat each
other as less than human. In line three, the reader can hear the sound imagery of the stuttering rifles
rapid rattle . The word anger in line 2 also emphasizes the destructive hatred of war. Choirs of wailing
shells is a powerful metaphor in line 7 contrasting the world of war and the world of God.
For the rest of the poem various religious images abound. For example, the word candles would call to
mind the church candles, but they also mean the candles lit in rooms where coffins lie. Holy glimmers
of goodbyes (line 9) combines religious imagery with the idea of death. In the pallor half rhyme of
line 11, these two words combine in one line to show the seriousness of the situation. Young people
are dying in war, and it is tragic. The flowers of line 11 are also a double edged sword. Flowers are
given on very happy, momentous occasions, but they are also in abundance at solemn occasions like
funerals. Furthermore, Owen compares the events of war to traditional burial rituals and describes
how those who die in war do not receive proper funerals. In the first stanza, Owen references the
monstrous anger of guns to passing bells and rifles rapid rattle to hasty orisons . Usually

Tchaikovsky s personal life, and especially his sexuality, have been discussed to an extent that is very
uncommon for most composers of his time. Although he achieved much success, he also suffered
through much trauma. He often fell into depressive episodes, and worked through many trials, such as
his mother s death, his own suppressed homosexuality, and the loss of his good friend and sponsor

Dna Reaction Essay
DNA: Interactions between Proteins
Deoxyribonucleic Acid is a molecule that contains the genetic makeup of almost all living organisms.
While Deoxyribonucleic Acid, or DNA, has been successfully mapped out, many of its interactions
with certain proteins and enzymes have not been fully revealed within the atomic level.
The history and mysteries of DNA continue to fascinate biologists and chemists alike. However, we
must question, who was the first to discover DNA, and what scientists have done to further enhance
our understanding of it? In short, DNA was first isolated by physician Friedrich Miescher in 1869; in
1937, William Astbury became the first person to produce an x ray diffraction pattern of the DNA
molecule. Sixteen years ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Essentially, adenine may only bind with thymine with two hydrogen bonds, and guanine may only
bind with cytosine with three hydrogen bonds. In broader perspective, purines may only bond with
pyrimidines. Adenine and guanines are the purines, due to their double ring molecular structure, while
thymine and cytosine are the pyrimidines due to there single ring structure. In addition the strands of
DNA are connected together between base pairs, through Hydrogen bonding. While each base pair
may only bind with its complimentary base pair, it is the sequence of the base pairs that creates such
genetic diversity amongst living organisms around the world. As scientists further investigate the
atomic structure and function of DNA, DNA replication is also being further examined. During DNA
replication, multiple enzymes, such as DNA Ligase, DNA Helicase, and DNA polymerase assist in
unwinding the DNA double strand into single stranded DNA (essentially an unwinding of the DNA in
which the hydrogen bonds are broken separating the two strands) which would latter be used as a
template for the creation of a new single DNA strand. DNA is thus widely known as the genetic
material for almost all living organisms. Although DNA replication is in general understood, its
atomic structure and interactions (between DNA and its proteins and enzymes) are not. Hence, we
must begin to

The Impact Of Indians During The Colonial Americas Essay
The Impact of Indians in the Colonial Americas Many historians speculate that about 20,000 years ago
Paleo Indians migrated to America. How they made the journey is highly speculated as well. Some
believe it was by a land bridge between Asia and Northern America while others believed the Paleo
Indians to have migrated via boat. However, how they arrived is not what matters, but what is
important is that the Paleo Indians made it to the Americas where they began establishing their own
civilizations. Around 1492, however, countries like Spain, Britain, and France began exploring for
new lands to colonize . The lands they discovered were already inhabited by Indians, who are
portrayed as the bad guy more times than not. Yet, one could argue that they are the opposite of that.
Yes, colonists and Indians shared their differences, but if it were not for the Indians many of the
colonists and colonizations would have never survived. One of the major countries to colonize in the
Americas was Spain. Spain would actually go on to conquer and colonize many areas and establish
one of the largest empires in all of the Americas. But the way in which they went about doing so was
completely unnecessary according to Bartolome de Las Casas. Bartolome actually wrote In Defense of
the Indians which was one of the first works in which a person from a colonizing nation argued for the
rights of the indigenous people (Indians or Native Americans in this case) of the region that was being

The Inventions Of The Cotton Gin During The Industrial...
During the Industrial Revolution, many inventions were produced. In 1793, Eli Whitney invented the
cotton gin. Eli Whitney was a farm boy and was trying to make a name for himself as a manufacturer.
About a few days later, he developed a machine to restructure the cotton industry. The pasteurization
was created by Louis Pasteur in 1864. Louis Pasteur was a chemistry professor and was studying
fermentation. He created this invention for beer because there was trouble with brewing and kept
going bad while no one knew why. There is a big time difference between the year date they were both
created. They both have been known for many years and are still being used to this day. These two
inventions have made a huge impact throughout history and people s lives. Cotton has been known for
many years, but it was not used as much as compared to today. For many years, the only way to
separate the cotton seeds from its fibers was to pull them out by hand. It was a very slow and hard
occupation. The way the cotton gin worked was by; the cotton needs to fall through the feeder hopper,
goes through a place where it comes into the wire teeth, which seizes the fibers for the seeds and
comes out of the machine. Although the cotton gin was a very advantageous machine, it affected many
slaves. It came with a number of unintended consequences, especially towards slavery. During this
era, cotton was the most arduous plant since the seeds needed to be removed and that was a wearying
process.

Difference Between Sleep Drive And The Circadian Alerting...
Sleep is a complex phenomenon, best understood as the product of two intertwined biological systems
: the sleep drive and the circadian alerting system. The sleep drive is our biological need for sleep. The
sleep drive can be thought of as a tank that empties and fills throughout the course of a day, like the
gas tank in a car. When you sleep at night, the tank is filled with sleep. You awaken in the morning,
refueled and ready to drive through the day. The longer you drive through the day, the more the tank
depletes. By bedtime, the tank is on E ; it is empty and you must sleep to replenish it. The sleep drive
forces sleep, so that your tank can be refilled, and your biological sleep need is met. The circadian
alerting system

The Pros And Cons Of Manuals
Summer of 2017, I was employed as a warehouse manager as well as a truck driver for deliveries. I
was driving a large cube truck with a manual transmission through the mountains of Kentucky. The
truck was almost at max load capacity and I would not have made it up the steep hills in an automatic
as I was passing other trucks struggling to keep momentum to the crest. The company also saved on
fuel costs by the drivers being able to keep their trucks in a single gear rather than an automatic
constantly downshifting to keep the revs in the power band. Automatics may outperform manuals in
everyday driving but cannot keep up in heavy duty or performance applications.

Throughout his years of racing, he has always valued the driver to car connection through the
operation of a manual gearbox and has not found an automatic that has yet to reach the same feeling
and performance. Engine breaking, as mentioned in the previous quote, is the process of leaving the
car in a selected gear to allow the engines revs to drop with the resistance of the gearbox. The reason
for engine breaking is to slow down the vehicle without using the breaks as well as eliminating driver
response through not having to switch pedals.
Heavy machinery, engineers, laborers, and precision assembly is required for the production of all
models and styles of transmissions. When pricing out a new car, you ll find that the same trim and
model but with a manual transmission will be a grand or two cheaper than the automatic counterpart.
The reason for this is manuals being cheaper to produce and install due to its mechanical simplicity
and lack of electronics. In terms of repair, stick shifts a common name for manuals, are vastly cheaper
to maintain and fix because of their not being as complex and having less moving parts that could fail.
The cost of replacing automatic transmission fluid generally ranges from about $100 to $200,
depending on the vehicle and who is doing the work. Manual transmissions also require periodic fluid
changes, but the cost tends to be about half of that. (Rick Popely, June 8, 2016).
All in all, the price range for a rebuilt automatic

Chemtrails Do you think Chemtrails are made of chemicals? Many scientists say they are just made of

ice then goes into the clouds form as a cloud. As watch a YouTube video it shows that chemtrails are
starting as water vapor because there nothing coming out of it when you turn it on. As a theory, there
are no chemicals based on the videos. In these videos the chemtrails shows that there are no
chemicals. At last, I saw pictures that describes that there are no chemicals because the chemtrails don
t start as one. As I saw a picture up close when a jet is about to release the water vapor they are
forming in to clouds. It would probably take a lot longer for chemicals to form into a cloud. There are
so pictures that look the same it s just water vapor they don t hurt people. Also, they are all the way up
in the air they can t reach you. In conclusion, chemtrails are just water vapor forming into clouds, so
that the air would have more cover, Also, it s to control the weather from disaster, and the population

Nietzsche Good And Evil
In the first essay of On The Genealogy of Morals, Nietzsche states clearly his stand that Beyond Good
and Evil... does not mean Beyond Good and Bad (Nietzsche, page 143). Nietzsche makes the
distinction between good/bad, and good/evil, by delineating the central idea that what is good and evil
generally carries a morality to its definitions, whereas the former is essentially a social construct with
slanted purposes and no true objectivity to its meanings. Nietzsche frames the idea that the values of
good and bad, are fundamental to how we involve morality in our thinking, namely, how we assess
what is good and what is evil.
Nietzsche introduces the initial concepts of what is good to be determined by those who have
benefitted from unegoistical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It does not find its root and origin in objective circumstances; it originates from a place of
suppression, of seeking freedom, and most significantly, of ressentiment. Herein the idea Nietzsche
proposes is that the slaves are responsive against their noble masters because they are weak and
impotent, leading to the festering of hatred and resentment. This means that values culminating from
the revolt would be inaccurate in representing the true meaning of good or evil , because they were
formed through the tainted lens of the slaves of ressentiment. They would portray the slaves, the weak,
and the powerless as good and favourable, while casting the nobles, the masters, and the
upperclassmen in an evil and malicious light. This inverts the original notion that the nobles are the
definition of good . Nietzsche expounds this situation by clarifying that the nobles become blond
beast[s] (Nietzsche, page 128) when out of their familiar circumstances, insinuating that they turn into
a barbaric state where they seek victory over those who are inferior to them. In turn, displays of
brutality will be expressed, as a by product of this barbarism and therefore, fulfilling the morality of
the nobles as evil . Nietzsche also expresses that this form of morality may not always be beneficial; it

William Shakespeare s Measure For Measure Essay
In our society, interactions with others contains vital importance when examining the exercise of
authority. Due to this, authority has been very challenging to embrace. An individual with arduous
authority is often required to make decisions, and these decisions are created based on the conscience
this person possesses. Constantly, the interpretation must be made whether these decisions stamp a
title on these individuals, and this is where legitimacy or illegitimacy of the individual s actions make
an appearance. In the play Measure for Measure written by William Shakespeare, readers have the
opportunity to witness this trial of holding authority. Angelo, one of the characters within the play,
exemplifies the exercise of authority, and arguments can be created in relation to the sincerity of his
actions. Many may argue that his use of authority seems illegitimate, but due to certain citations
within this play, I strongly believe the contrary is true. Many situations within this particular play
comprise the recognition characters obtain of his incomparable ability to enforce laws, and these can
act as the establishment of proving the legitimacy he has as an authority figure. Also, particular
characters offer blatant indications of knowing and acknowledging the laws of the land, which will
result in the culmination of proving his legitimacy. Before presenting these examples, the definition of
legitimacy must be clarified. In addition to this, I will also be offering a

Cultural Changes In Rear Window
As our culture changes so do the films we see. If we look at films and their remakes decades later, it is
easy to see the changes in our culture. Between the time of the film Rear Window was released in
1954, under direction of Alfred Hitchcock, and the 2007 film Disturbia, directed by D.J. Caruso, our
country has experienced many cultural changes over those 53 years we have seen an increase in
violence, huge advancement in technology, and the increased use of sexuality, because of the media
coverage of the Vietnam War, the inventing of the microchip and computer, and the end of the Hays
Code in 1968. In Rear Window and Disturbia, both Jeff, played by James Stewart in Rear Window and
Kale, played by Shia Lebeouf in Disturbia have been forced to remain indoors, and because of
extreme boredom they have taken to spying on their neighbors to pass the time. While observing their
neighbors they see something strange from one of the men in their neighborhood. Kale and Jeff
become convinced that their neighbor is a killer, played by David Morse in Disturbia and Raymond
Burr in Rear Window. They also convince their friends of this. They end up trying to find a way to
obtain evidence to use against the suspected killer. They become obsessed with trying to catch the
killer in the act, until they realize that they aren t the only ones watching. ... Show more content on

The world would forever change in 1958, when Jack Kilby and Robert Noyce invented the first
integrated circuit, also known as the micro chip. Without this invention there wouldn t be any
cellphones, laptops, high definition televisions, or I pods. Which also means there would be no
Google, Apple, Microsoft, or many of the major technology companies we have today, that have
innovated our world. In the two films Rear Window and Disturbia, you can see many examples of the
differences in technology resulting from there

Disadvantages Of Six Sigma
Six Sigma can be seen as a measure of quality that strives for near perfection. Six Sigma is a
disciplined, data driven approach and methodology for eliminating defects (driving toward six
standard deviations between the mean and the nearest specification limit) in any process from
manufacturing to transactional and from product to service.
The statistical representation of Six Sigma describes quantitatively how a process is performing. To
achieve Six Sigma, a process must not produce more than 3.4 defects per million opportunities. A Six
Sigma defect is defined as anything outside of customer specifications. A Six Sigma opportunity is
then the total quantity of chances for a defect. Process sigma can easily be calculated using a Six
Sigma ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It can also be argued that Six Sigma is proactive addressing the entire production process instead of
concentrating only on the end product. The way the concept seeks to find how improvements can be
brought about well before defects are detected.
In spite of its success, Six Sigma quality improvement method is not without some difficulties
(Chakrabarty and Tan ,2007). To begin with, implementing Six Sigma require complete participation
of every employee in the company for the process to be successful. For large companies, getting
everyone thinking and acting with the same goal may present some challenge.
Secondly, the customer focus nature of the measure could present a scenario where customer
satisfaction would hold sway over internal control measures, especially for companies working in the
service sector. Implementing Six Sigma is expensive often involving training a huge chunk of the
companies human resource in six sigma principles this may come at a great cost to the company
involve.
Another point is that because Six Sigma relies heavily on data, a poor data quality can jeopardize the
success of the process.

History of the U.S. Health Care Delivery System
Introduction:
In order to understand current health delivery services changes and formulate predictions, one must
thoroughly comprehend the three developmental eras of the health care system. The evolution of our
current health care system began in 1850, and has metamorphosed in three time periods, 1850 to 1900,
1900 to World War II (WW II), and WW II to 2009. Significant distinct and overlapping trends in
disease prevalence, availability of health care resources, social organizations, and the public s
knowledge and perception of health and illness and technology.

Nursing care was unscientific and consisted of assisting patients with usual body functions; and was
typically administered by women of a religious order or by women who by nature of their lifestyle
frequented hospitals. Hospital care was for the poor and destitute; since home based medical care was
better than risking additional infections in the dirty, crowded, and disease ridden hospitals. During the
typhus epidemic of 1852, hospital staff and patients suffered the greatest morbidity and mortality.
(Ranade , 199817 19)
1900 World War II: Birthing of Scientific Medicine
New discoveries spawn more medical research in medical colleges. In 1910, Abraham Flexner of the
Carnegie Foundation publishes his study on medical education, and induces major medical education
reform. Medical knowledge flourishes and specialists account for 20% of physicians in 1940.
Hospitals begin to embellish new medical technology as physicians relied on the hospital as a source
of access to new technology and as a facility in which to care for their sickest patients. (Writer,

The David Story, And The Iliad
In the books The David Story, and The Iliad the overall stories show us that history has evolved. In
which case, we read the differences between the human relationships toward their god(s). In The
David Story, David turns to Yahweh for advice, reassurance, and in some instances, a second opinion,
whereas in The Iliad, Achilles is overseen by the god of wisdom and military victory, Athena. The
relationships between the humans and their god have similarities but are also significantly different.
The Iliad takes place in a city, Troy, which is in modern day Turkey. Achilles a great warrior of Greek
mythology participated in the Trojan War, on which Homer s epic poem, The Iliad is based. Achilles
was the son of Thetis and Peleus, king of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Achilles had been struck down and needed the courage to go and fight. Athena is in favor of the
Greeks because she saw a part of herself in Achilles, and frankly because she hated the Trojans.
Fate bound the gods in Book 22 lines 190 209. As Achilles was face to face with Hector, Zeus showed
pity for Hector. In this scene, Zeus knew that Hector was destined to die. Zeus wanted to save Hector,
but was persuaded by Athena that it was Hector s time. Athena argued with him that if he would step
in and save Hector that many other gods would be upset with his actions. Not only would the gods be
angry, but death was Hector s fate, and the gods were bound to it. This is an example of how fate
outweighed what the gods wanted to happen. Zeus was wrestling with the thought of saving Hector or
allowing Hector to meet his fate.
Achilles and Athena s relationship seemed to be superficial. Although Athena seemed to care for
Achilles, her motive came from viewing parts of herself within him. The gods seemed to intervene
when the scene looked as if it needed a bit of excitement. For example, in Book 22, Hector was being
chased along the city wall by Achilles. Athena presented herself in the image of Hector s brother,
Deïphobus, to persuade Hector to stop running and fight with Achilles.
In The David Story, the largest portion of the story, takes place in Jerusalem. David was a great
warrior of the Hebrew era. He was famously known for killing the Philistine giant, Goliath. He

Examine the nature of the distinctive managerial, organisational and developmental characteristics of
small businesses vis à vis well resourced large companies. What are the implications of such
distinctiveness for small businesses attempting to achieve sustained growth?
Entrepreneur is someone who takes a risk and initiates to take up an opportunity in the market for any
goods or service to be sold to the consumers. All decisions are made by the entrepreneur as he is the
risk taker and this obviously involves people working under him for example managers. All the capital
is raised, decisions are made by the entrepreneur and business activities are monitored by the owners

Branson had earned enough money from his record shop to buy a country estate, in which he installed
a recording studio. He leased out studio time to fledgling artists, including multi instrumentalist Mike

Virgin Records won praise for exposing the public to obscure avant garde music, but Branson sold the

Branson had formed Virgin Atlantic Airways in 1984, and he went on to launch Virgin Trains in 1997,

  • 2. Biblical Genealogy Is Important For Establishing Identity Prior to this passage, Jacob moved his family to this region in Canaan and bought land from Hamor, instead of remaining with Esau and kinfolk (Gen 33:18). Now in a land known to worship false gods, Jacob and his family are vulnerable and separated from a community of likeminded practitioners. When Genesis 34 begins, we learn the lineage of Dinah as Leah s daughter with Jacob (Gen 34:1). Biblical genealogy is important to establishing identity as it expresses idealized understandings of families. Leah is the daughter of Laban to which Jacob was tricked into marriage (Gen 29:21 25). Leah, after birthing several sons, delivered a daughter for which she named Dinah (Gen 30:21). As a sister with several older brothers, the assumption is that Dinah was sheltered and naïve since she is alone in the city without an escort. Moshe Reiss in The Family Relationship of Simeon and Dina states, She is under her father s protection and it seems unlikely that she went out without permission. The term ‫ֵ֤צא‬ ‫ַוֵּת‬ ‫ות‬ ‫ֹ֖א‬ ‫ְר‬‫ִל‬ (went out to visit) causes much debate among critics as it is seen as an inappropriate behavior for a young lady. The phrase went out to visit implies interaction with outsiders. Dinah would not have gone out without knowing where she might be headed, as it would have left her vulnerable and invited trouble. Without any further details, it is implied that travel was accepted and a coexistence among the groups was present and generally peaceful. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The servant can not read, asks Romeo to read the quest list, and Benvolio pushes Romeo to go to the masquerade. It is out of Romeo and Juliet s control that they met; it was fate. Shakespeare also explores the idea of fate in his play by letting the audience know certain things about his characters. In the prologue of the play, Shakespeare tells the audience what is going to happen to the Romeo and Juliet: from forth the fatal loins of these two foes, A pair of star cross d lovers take their life; (prologue 5 6). This introduces the idea of fate into the play and prepares the audience for what is to come The idea that the lovers will take a different path is suggested throughout the play. Coincidence is also a theme written throughout Romeo and Juliet. For example, it is a coincidence Paris is at Capulet s tomb the same time Romeo is. • 9. Analysis Of The Passage By Dalton Trumbo ¨Parents act so strong for us, that we often forget just how fragile they are.¨ As we grow we often find ourselves not spending as much of our free time with our parents as we had when we could barely speak a sentence without having bad grammar. This maturing state is something all of us experience. We become more interactive with sports, friends, relationships, and we forget who gave us this wonderful life. In the following stories of ¨ The Passage¨, ¨Through the Tunnel¨ , and ¨American History¨ the author utilizes dialogue to indicate the disconnection from their parents in the journey to adulthood. In the story The Passage By Dalton Trumbo, the author portrays coming of age and the beginning of a new chapter in life through the dialogue between the protagonist, Joe, and his father. The bond between Joe and his father is exhibited as very stable and happy. Their bond displays the attachment every adolescent acquires with their parents; as we learn almost everything basic to life from our parents. This short story suggests that at one period in time we start to grow out of adolescence into young adults and begin to detach from our forever known guardians and heroes. We begin to mature and become more distracted with friends, school, sports, etc.. Joe, in this short story, depicts this detachment from our parents as we grow for example in paragraph two: Now he was 15 and Bill Harper was going to come tomorrow... • 12. How Does Edgar Allan Poe Use Alliteration In Poetry Tintinnabulation I know, Poe. Again. Truth be told I do not know many other poetic authors. Nor did I have a large mental library of poems to draw from. Yet, I digress. Typically, I do not take the copout. I try to take on every new assignment as a new opportunity to expand my knowledge or learn something new. When it comes to poems though, that shelf is bare. I have only started caring about poems for the last six weeks. I like poems, I simply do not have prior experience with them. So, I took a copout, and chose The Bells by Eager Allen Poe. This poem is heavy in two distinctly poetic elements. Assonance and Alliteration. Assonance is the repetition of the Vowel sounds at the end of a word, were Alliteration is the invers. That is repetition ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the second half of the poem the tone also makes a shift and becomes distinctly Poe. Strangely the third line of the third stanza is What tale of terror, now, their turbulency tells! (Poe). This line sticks in your head like the refrain of the most recent and obnoxious pop song. The alliteration from here just keeps getting better. Starting with the next line and on to the eighth, In the startled ear of night / How they scream out their affright! / Too much Horrified to speak, / They can only shriek, shriek, / Out of tune, (Poe). So, the key words here are, scream, speak, and shriek. There is no brain trickery here just the same consent. There is also a line that is only in the first and last stanza that is In a sort of runic rhyme (Poe) this line creates a sort of image. Runic, or a rune is an incantation that is written on an object to create a permeate effect. So, the runic rhyme hints toward a more mystical element to the bells. This is a foreshadowing of the last stanza. This line is first used in line ten and is not seen again till line 94. In the last stanza, is where that poem hits a runic apex of alliteration. This excerpt from the fourth stanza, I personally feel, is a good representation of the poem. What a world of solemn thought their monody compels! / In the silence of the night, / How we shiver with affright / At the melancholy meaning of their tone! (Poe). This is my favorite part of this poem. Solemn silence shiver, melancholy meaning, and their tone are all alliteration. These four lines are build up to the next three. For every sound that floats / From the rust within their throats / Is a groan. (Poe). Then with the assonance of tone, floats, throats, and groan in combination with the metaphor in the second line creates a striking image. The metaphor in the line From the rust within their throats (Poe), is not like the typical metaphor. Though this metaphor does ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 25. Wilfred Owen s Anthem for Doomed Youth Analysis Essay Wilfred Owen s Anthem for a Doomed Youth is exactly that, an anthem ( a solemn song) to commemorate the innocent youth, whose lives were taken to soon by war. By using the word anthem, he calls to mind the glory and honor of a national anthem, however; he goes on to explain that there is no honor or glory in death, pairing the words doomed and youth together creates so much sorrow as well, it provides a woeful impression as it foretells of young people having no hope. Written in sonnet form, it is an elegy for the dead. The octave deals with auditory images of war and death and the sestet deals with more visual images. Wilfred Owen masterfully uses both imagery and figurative language to convey his lament for these young people who died. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Owen gives the sonnet a powerful, negative connotation from the very beginning. He implies with this phrase a dehumanization of the soldiers as well as the fact that war causes human beings to treat each other as less than human. In line three, the reader can hear the sound imagery of the stuttering rifles rapid rattle . The word anger in line 2 also emphasizes the destructive hatred of war. Choirs of wailing shells is a powerful metaphor in line 7 contrasting the world of war and the world of God. For the rest of the poem various religious images abound. For example, the word candles would call to mind the church candles, but they also mean the candles lit in rooms where coffins lie. Holy glimmers of goodbyes (line 9) combines religious imagery with the idea of death. In the pallor half rhyme of line 11, these two words combine in one line to show the seriousness of the situation. Young people are dying in war, and it is tragic. The flowers of line 11 are also a double edged sword. Flowers are given on very happy, momentous occasions, but they are also in abundance at solemn occasions like funerals. Furthermore, Owen compares the events of war to traditional burial rituals and describes how those who die in war do not receive proper funerals. In the first stanza, Owen references the monstrous anger of guns to passing bells and rifles rapid rattle to hasty orisons . Usually ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 27. Dna Reaction Essay DNA: Interactions between Proteins Deoxyribonucleic Acid is a molecule that contains the genetic makeup of almost all living organisms. While Deoxyribonucleic Acid, or DNA, has been successfully mapped out, many of its interactions with certain proteins and enzymes have not been fully revealed within the atomic level. The history and mysteries of DNA continue to fascinate biologists and chemists alike. However, we must question, who was the first to discover DNA, and what scientists have done to further enhance our understanding of it? In short, DNA was first isolated by physician Friedrich Miescher in 1869; in 1937, William Astbury became the first person to produce an x ray diffraction pattern of the DNA molecule. Sixteen years ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Essentially, adenine may only bind with thymine with two hydrogen bonds, and guanine may only bind with cytosine with three hydrogen bonds. In broader perspective, purines may only bond with pyrimidines. Adenine and guanines are the purines, due to their double ring molecular structure, while thymine and cytosine are the pyrimidines due to there single ring structure. In addition the strands of DNA are connected together between base pairs, through Hydrogen bonding. While each base pair may only bind with its complimentary base pair, it is the sequence of the base pairs that creates such genetic diversity amongst living organisms around the world. As scientists further investigate the atomic structure and function of DNA, DNA replication is also being further examined. During DNA replication, multiple enzymes, such as DNA Ligase, DNA Helicase, and DNA polymerase assist in unwinding the DNA double strand into single stranded DNA (essentially an unwinding of the DNA in which the hydrogen bonds are broken separating the two strands) which would latter be used as a template for the creation of a new single DNA strand. DNA is thus widely known as the genetic material for almost all living organisms. Although DNA replication is in general understood, its atomic structure and interactions (between DNA and its proteins and enzymes) are not. Hence, we must begin to ... • 28. The Impact Of Indians During The Colonial Americas Essay The Impact of Indians in the Colonial Americas Many historians speculate that about 20,000 years ago Paleo Indians migrated to America. How they made the journey is highly speculated as well. Some believe it was by a land bridge between Asia and Northern America while others believed the Paleo Indians to have migrated via boat. However, how they arrived is not what matters, but what is important is that the Paleo Indians made it to the Americas where they began establishing their own civilizations. Around 1492, however, countries like Spain, Britain, and France began exploring for new lands to colonize . The lands they discovered were already inhabited by Indians, who are portrayed as the bad guy more times than not. Yet, one could argue that they are the opposite of that. Yes, colonists and Indians shared their differences, but if it were not for the Indians many of the colonists and colonizations would have never survived. One of the major countries to colonize in the Americas was Spain. Spain would actually go on to conquer and colonize many areas and establish one of the largest empires in all of the Americas. But the way in which they went about doing so was completely unnecessary according to Bartolome de Las Casas. Bartolome actually wrote In Defense of the Indians which was one of the first works in which a person from a colonizing nation argued for the rights of the indigenous people (Indians or Native Americans in this case) of the region that was being ... Eli Whitney was a farm boy and was trying to make a name for himself as a manufacturer. About a few days later, he developed a machine to restructure the cotton industry. The pasteurization was created by Louis Pasteur in 1864. Louis Pasteur was a chemistry professor and was studying fermentation. He created this invention for beer because there was trouble with brewing and kept going bad while no one knew why. There is a big time difference between the year date they were both created. They both have been known for many years and are still being used to this day. These two inventions have made a huge impact throughout history and people s lives. Cotton has been known for many years, but it was not used as much as compared to today. For many years, the only way to separate the cotton seeds from its fibers was to pull them out by hand. It was a very slow and hard occupation. The way the cotton gin worked was by; the cotton needs to fall through the feeder hopper, goes through a place where it comes into the wire teeth, which seizes the fibers for the seeds and comes out of the machine. Although the cotton gin was a very advantageous machine, it affected many slaves. It came with a number of unintended consequences, especially towards slavery. During this era, cotton was the most arduous plant since the seeds needed to be removed and that was a wearying process. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Sleep is a complex phenomenon, best understood as the product of two intertwined biological systems : the sleep drive and the circadian alerting system. The sleep drive is our biological need for sleep. The sleep drive can be thought of as a tank that empties and fills throughout the course of a day, like the gas tank in a car. When you sleep at night, the tank is filled with sleep. You awaken in the morning, refueled and ready to drive through the day. The longer you drive through the day, the more the tank depletes. The company also saved on fuel costs by the drivers being able to keep their trucks in a single gear rather than an automatic constantly downshifting to keep the revs in the power band. Engine breaking, as mentioned in the previous quote, is the process of leaving the car in a selected gear to allow the engines revs to drop with the resistance of the gearbox. The reason for engine breaking is to slow down the vehicle without using the breaks as well as eliminating driver response through not having to switch pedals. Heavy machinery, engineers, laborers, and precision assembly is required for the production of all models and styles of transmissions. When pricing out a new car, you ll find that the same trim and model but with a manual transmission will be a grand or two cheaper than the automatic counterpart. The reason for this is manuals being cheaper to produce and install due to its mechanical simplicity and lack of electronics. In terms of repair, stick shifts a common name for manuals, are vastly cheaper to maintain and fix because of their not being as complex and having less moving parts that could fail. The cost of replacing automatic transmission fluid generally ranges from about $100 to $200, depending on the vehicle and who is doing the work. Nietzsche Good And Evil In the first essay of On The Genealogy of Morals, Nietzsche states clearly his stand that Beyond Good and Evil... does not mean Beyond Good and Bad (Nietzsche, page 143). Nietzsche makes the distinction between good/bad, and good/evil, by delineating the central idea that what is good and evil generally carries a morality to its definitions, whereas the former is essentially a social construct with slanted purposes and no true objectivity to its meanings. It does not find its root and origin in objective circumstances; it originates from a place of suppression, of seeking freedom, and most significantly, of ressentiment. Herein the idea Nietzsche proposes is that the slaves are responsive against their noble masters because they are weak and impotent, leading to the festering of hatred and resentment. This means that values culminating from the revolt would be inaccurate in representing the true meaning of good or evil , because they were formed through the tainted lens of the slaves of ressentiment. They would portray the slaves, the weak, and the powerless as good and favourable, while casting the nobles, the masters, and the upperclassmen in an evil and malicious light. This inverts the original notion that the nobles are the definition of good . Nietzsche expounds this situation by clarifying that the nobles become blond beast[s] (Nietzsche, page 128) when out of their familiar circumstances, insinuating that they turn into a barbaric state where they seek victory over those who are inferior to them. Due to this, authority has been very challenging to embrace. An individual with arduous authority is often required to make decisions, and these decisions are created based on the conscience this person possesses. Constantly, the interpretation must be made whether these decisions stamp a title on these individuals, and this is where legitimacy or illegitimacy of the individual s actions make an appearance. In the play Measure for Measure written by William Shakespeare, readers have the opportunity to witness this trial of holding authority. Angelo, one of the characters within the play, exemplifies the exercise of authority, and arguments can be created in relation to the sincerity of his actions. Many may argue that his use of authority seems illegitimate, but due to certain citations within this play, I strongly believe the contrary is true. Many situations within this particular play comprise the recognition characters obtain of his incomparable ability to enforce laws, and these can act as the establishment of proving the legitimacy he has as an authority figure. Also, particular characters offer blatant indications of knowing and acknowledging the laws of the land, which will result in the culmination of proving his legitimacy.
