SlideShare a Scribd company logo
Gameplay Concept: The primary gameplay concept is that the player only has one
control, jumping and double jumping. The player cannot move side to side or increase
speed. Instead they are in a fixed position timing the dodging of obstacles that come their
way. Because of this CHAD is rhythm game, players primary focus is to time their jumps
right and see if the size of the obstacles necessitates a double jump, which cannot be
continually used as it may cause you to crash into the next obstacle.
! The game is also a platformer, however there is no set start/finish point, the game
only increases in speed and difficulty. This makes CHAD an endless platformer. The main
goal of the game is to see how far you can go without crashing, and then on seeing if you
can beat your high score. You can compete with your friends for the head spot on the
leaderboard, or try to beat other players across the globe.

Platform Features: The game is played in rounds obstacles, with a break between each
bout before the game gets faster. This will also be accompanied by a change in scene.
! -Enemies & Powerups: The never ending platform will be littered with randomly
generated enemies and power-ups. The enemies are gravel monsters, personified piles of
gravel that will trip Chad up if the player hits into them. However if the player can time a
jump right to land on top of the gravel you will bounce off and be awarded more points.
! The power-ups are different types of candy strewn across the platform that can be
collected along the way. Collecting the candy will award the player more points. Players
could simply ride through them to collect them or they may have to jump up for them,
risking crashing.

  • 1. Gameplay Concept: The primary gameplay concept is that the player only has one control, jumping and double jumping. The player cannot move side to side or increase speed. Instead they are in a fixed position timing the dodging of obstacles that come their way. Because of this CHAD is rhythm game, players primary focus is to time their jumps right and see if the size of the obstacles necessitates a double jump, which cannot be continually used as it may cause you to crash into the next obstacle. ! The game is also a platformer, however there is no set start/finish point, the game only increases in speed and difficulty. This makes CHAD an endless platformer. The main goal of the game is to see how far you can go without crashing, and then on seeing if you can beat your high score. You can compete with your friends for the head spot on the leaderboard, or try to beat other players across the globe. ! Platform Features: The game is played in rounds obstacles, with a break between each bout before the game gets faster. This will also be accompanied by a change in scene. ! -Enemies & Powerups: The never ending platform will be littered with randomly generated enemies and power-ups. The enemies are gravel monsters, personified piles of gravel that will trip Chad up if the player hits into them. However if the player can time a jump right to land on top of the gravel you will bounce off and be awarded more points. ! The power-ups are different types of candy strewn across the platform that can be collected along the way. Collecting the candy will award the player more points.
