School Project from the Art Institute of California, Challenge was to reinvent or redesign the UI of a given game. I was given Dead Space.
This presentation was broken into two parts. The first part covers various approaches to creating games on mobile platforms with some details specific to Windows 8. The second part covers strategies for creating successful mobile games including promotion and monetization strategies. While this talk was primarily to a Windows 8 developer audience, the talk was largely cross-platform focused, and parts of the second half on mobile strategy can apply to both apps as well as games.

Stanford University's Design School (d.school as it's stylized) had its first game design class in the spring of 2014. The class, called "Game Design: Making Fun" (http://dschool.stanford.edu/classes/game-design-making-fun/) invited me to give a guest lecture on the emerging trend of mid-core gaming. Thank you to teaching team of Michael St. Clair, Mathias Crawford, and Dan Klein for the invite.
Monkey Rush is an arcade mobile game, developed by using java scripts, HTML5 and Panda JS game engine.
The mobile game is aside-scroller where the player has to use the touch screen and tap to control the flying monkey, trying to fly between rows of logs without going to get in touch with them.
• Used HTML5, Java Scripts, Panda js HTML5 game engine to make the game application.
• Implemented on Apache Cordova (formerly PhoneGap) development framework.
• Used Adobe Photoshop to design the graphs

This talk discusses the business case for multiplatform game development. It was given at GDC Online Austin on October 9, 2012, by Adam Gutterman, Director, Games Monetization for Unity Technologies.

Button Men (multiplayer iPhone game) - a quick-playing strategy game for one or two players; where the goal is to capture your opponents dice while protecting your own. The original game, created by Cheapass Games, was awarded 3 Origins Awards including Best Abstract Board Game of 1999.
You've assembled a bunch of super fun gameplay objectives, figured out in-game action, and conjured a bunch of awesome and engaging characters. You're ready to go, right? Well, not quite. Sooner or later, you're going to have to figure out what your business model is, and how you are going to monetize your hit game. This presentation was used during a session on 'creative geography', organised by the Dutch 'Koninklijk Nederlands Aardrijkskundig Genootschap' on February 14 at the Hyperion College in Amsterdam. Focus of the presentation was on how to use the Mobile Learning Academy when teaching geography.
