Typical Computer Components
         By James Bennett
Introduction

This is a presentation displaying typical computer
components
I am including a technical description of the
component, and image and a function of the
component within the computer
Motherboard

The Motherboard is the main component. Everything
is run by it and it controls most things. It holds many
of the crucial components of a computer.
CPU

A Central Processing Unit (CPU) is a component that
carries out the orders given from a computer
programme. The CPU also plays a part in being the
brain of the computer.
RAM

Random Access Memory or otherwise known as RAM
is the memory of the computer. They can range from
256mb to 8GB. There are many types of RAM such as:
DDR RAM, DDR 2 RAM, DDR3 RAM and finally DIMM
RAM.
Power Supply

The power supply is the component that supplies
power to the computer allowing it to turn on and
function properly. The power supply Unit in a computer
converts AC mains power to a low DC power for their
internal components of the computer.
Fans

Fans are used to cool the internal parts of the
computer down and to draw warm air out and blow
colder air in. The are also used to blow cold air over
the top of the heat sink to help cool down a particular
internal component of the computer.
Video Card

A video card is a type of expansion card which helps
to feed images to the monitor. Video cards can
produce 2D and 3D images and some advanced video
cards are used for Gaming.

NIC

A Network interface controller is a part of the
computer that connects the computer to a network.
You can either connect wirelessly with a Wireless NIC
   or via a Ethernet port.
