My artist's costume will be simple, following conventions of the indie genre. He will wear a plain black, white, or grey top in medium or close-up shots. Most indie artists focus on their music rather than appearance. The costume is everyday clothing like a t-shirt or sweater to appear relatable. Examples given show plain tops with neutral colors and backgrounds for Arctic Monkeys and Tanlines Mixed. The costume choice, location, and lyrics in my music video link it to the indie genre through realistic themes and simplistic presentation.

2. MY ARTIST’S COSTUME
 I will be using a close up or medium shot of my artists, as he is an upcoming
artist. I thought it would be necessary for the audience to know what he looks
like to gain a wide fan base.
 My artists will be wearing a plain black or white top, or a grey or white turtle
neck. I chose to keep the costume very simple as it is generic of the Indie
genre. Most artist within the Indie genre tend not to have images of the artists
face, they tend to do this because they are more focused on their talents and
the lyrics of their music rather than their appurtenance.
 The audience understand this and also admire them for their songs. However if
they have am image of the artist face it’s because they’re an upcoming artists.
I am following the conventions of a Indie genre.

VIDEO & GENRE
My artists is a young male who has a simplistic dress sense. In
my video my artists is dressed high-street. The clothing is
wearing is basic , everyday outfit , it’s not over the top . Unlike
like Pop genre who tend to have a lot of costume changes and a
lot of bright colours when it comes to their album cover and
music video. Throughout the video James Whiteman only had
two costume changes , this was done to follow the conventions
of a real Indie music video which is normally portrayed in a
Indie music video. Also the location of this video (the park )
links and suits the genre , the lyrics of the song also links
because it’s about love and reminiscing , which most Indie genre
tend to have their song about real life situations.
