Mullah Sahib Research Paper
Mullah Sahib s bakery was making fresh Nan seven days a week. His place was across from
Ghani s, between our house and Gulum Ghous s. Some of our neighbors and us carried rounded
or square sticks of wood, when we were purchasing Nan. Mullah Sahib marked the wood sticks
with a knife and a pencil, without any money was being exchanged. At the end of the week or
month, our fathers paid for what we purchased. Mullah Sahib was happy, we were happy, our
mothers and as well as our neighborhood. The conflict between the Muslims and the Jews was

Sentinel City Essay
Sentinel City appears to be a primarily urban area with very little open space. The houses are
mostly multi family complexes like apartments, condos, senior and independent living centers, that
are constructed from brick. Industrial Heights and Casper Park District have older, more
dilapidated buildings that were probably factories years ago. Trash and graffiti are abundant within
this area. Nightingale Square and Acer Tech Center have more well taken care of lawns, less
graffiti, more historical places, and sophisticated dinning and shopping options. Industrial Heights

Blade Runner Research Papers
Blade Runner, adapted from the book Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, is the cornerstone
science fiction movie of it s time. It s neon lights and overcrowded megalopolis culture helped
define what an entire generation thought of the future. In the movie, a nuclear war makes it
necessary for off world colonies to be made. These colonies employ replicants, genetically
designed androids with no emotions that are identical to humans, as slave labor. After an attack by
rebellious replicants, they were banned on the earth. A police force was made to kill, or retire,
these rogue replicants. These killers were known as blade runners. After a group of replicants

One particular group, led by Osama bin Laden, used these funds later to form Al Qaeda, a terrorist

These consequences, among others, demonstrate the consequences of a society driven by fear.
This is reflected in the world of Blade Runner, where people live in fear and paranoia of the
replicants, creating tests to find these replicants and creating a police force for killing them. It even
got to the point where replicant life spans were shortened to prevent them from developing emotion.
Like the US government, the people of the world of Blade Runner ignored how the discrimination
would affect those discriminated against.
Roy, the last replicant, said to be a slave is to live in fear . This was what the replicants were

A proper balance of the rights of majority and minority shareholders is essential for the smooth
functioning of the company. Explain Illustrate? 1. Introduction:
The basic principal relating to the administration of the affairs of a company is that the will of the

Shareholders holding minority interests in closely held corporations are at risk of unfair or

their counterparts in partnerships or in corporations whose shares are publicly traded.

Sometimes directors and officers of closely held corporations that have acted fraudulently or
illegally mismanaged the corporation and also acted oppressively or unfairly toward one or more
minority shareholders. Shareholder oppression occurs when the majority shareholders in a
corporation take action that unfairly prejudices the minority. It most commonly occurs in close
corporations because the lack of a public market for shares leaves minority shareholders particularly
vulnerable, since minority shareholders cannot escape mistreatment by selling their stock and
exiting the corporation.10The majority shareholders may harm the economic interests of the
minority by refusing to declare dividends or attempting a squeeze out. Majority may physically lock
the minority out of the corporate premises and even deny the minority the right to inspect corporate

Types Of Common Intention Constructive Trusts
For sole name cases, there are two distinctive stages where claimant have to establish a beneficial
interest under constructive trust before quantifying the beneficial interest whereas in joint name
cases, it is assumed that there is joint equitable ownership (i.e. 50:50 split) where the court only has
to quantify the beneficial interest.
For single name cases like Lloyds, claimant should acquire beneficial interest before it can be
quantified. There are two types of common intention constructive trusts: (i) express common
intention constructive trust and (ii) inferred (implied) common intention constructive trust. Lord
Bridge made two distinctions, where he referred the first category to constructive trust and
proprietary estoppel whereas the second category to constructive trust.
As regards (i), beneficial interest in a family home can be claimed through an oral agreement
between the couple, where claimant relied on the agreement to his or her detriment. A lie can be
considered as an oral agreement. However, it must have been communicated to each other. Instead
of legal language, the courts are looking for language that forms the necessary intention on which to
base a proprietary interest. Intention of parties must be common where Dilon LJ expressed that if
parties intention was not expressed, common intention would be difficult to prove.
Regarding detrimental reliance, claimant must prove that he or she relied on the agreement to his
or her detriment. To

Similarities Between Blood Diamond And The Constant Gardener
The films Blood Diamond and The Constant Gardener both represent the relatively recent shift of
modern film making towards depicting Africa centric story lines in order to spread awareness of
issues such as corruption and exploitation to American and European audiences. However, the
portrayal of Africa in these two movies in particular, should be carefully considered, as these
movies may present the more stereotypical Africarather than the truth.
A good example of the stereotypical representation of Africans is Solomon Vandi from Blood
Diamond. Throughout the movie, he is portrayed as the know nothing black man that has a good
goal, which is that of trying to find and rescue his son, but has no idea how to function outside his
little rural village. Danny Archer, on the other hand, is... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The sequence in question is Danny Archer s conversation with Maddy as he is dying. In this
scene we see perfectly depicted the two factions of Africa: Archer is shown in so called rural
Africa, a place punctuated throughout the film with bright, vibrant colours and large expanses
of dry, sandy plane. Here Archer realises he belongs, and to the viewer, this realisation is
emphasised by the use of continuous back and forth cuts between where Archer lies and where
Maddy sits, as Maddy s surroundings are starkly different. Although Maddy is still in Africa, she
is shown in a city so modern it is given the same grey scale that is attributed to Western cities. The
stark contrast in colour therefore makes the viewer realise the contrast between the two views of
Africa, and serves as a meaningful conclusion to Archer s on going battle to get out of rural

What Sparked Wachowski s Knowledge In The Film
The aforementioned question was raised during the film when Morpheus asked Neo an
important question, although basic in comparison to the plot of the film. Morpheus simply asked
Neo, This is your last chance. After this, there is no turning back. You take the blue pill the story
ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill
you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes . I think the idea of
knowledge being a truly powerful force is what sparked Wachowski s imagination, and because of
this, was the idea for the film. The concept of knowledge (or lack of it), was demonstrated through
the constant twists and turns throughout the film. In dystopian environments, knowledge is a

When Neo escaped from the Matrix, he joined up with Morpheus and a few others, with the
eventual goal of bringing down the Matrix and releasing everybody being kept prisoner by it.
This shows the power those who are oppressed can have when they gain knowledge they are not
supposed to have, and this is an issue explored in dystopian worlds. Neo took the red pill, a
decision I too would have made. This revealed to us Neo s thirst for knowledge and to what
extent he was willing to go to gain information. In my opinion Neo made the correct decision in
selecting the red pill. I feel that someone who strives for perfection, and somebody who strives to
always do better should have the same thirst for knowledge that Neo had. When the question was
initially asked of Neo, I did not see how he could turn it down; being given the chance to learn
one of the biggest secrets on your planet, to me, was too good an opportunity to turn down. As a
consequence of this it did not shock me when Neo decided to take the red

Coming Of Age In Persepolis
Marjane Satrapi claims that her story is about the coming of age, not for either gender, but for all
humans. However, after reading the book, one might argue that it truly is a woman coming of age
story and not for all humans. One might even go as far to say that she is a little defensive in this
interview, further hinting that feminism is a very important value for Marjane. It is human nature
to do what is best for oneself. It is human nature to protect the rights of one s own kind. It is
Marjane s human nature to tell her story with hopes of achieving equal rights for all women. In

her; They insulted me. They said that women like me should be pushed up against a wall and
fucked and then thrown in the garbage (74). All because Marji was not wearing a veil. One
might also say that these men are particularly vulgar, and give off a very disgusting vibe, but
nonetheless it is a loss for females everywhere. According to these terrible men, all they are good
for is sex. Then they are useless. A little less grotesque instance of objectification is when the

Malcom X And The Civil Rights Of Malcolm X
By definition, civil rights are the rights of citizens to political and social equality. To simplify
that, civil rights are rights that every person should have, no matter what race, color, ethnicity,
etc. Some people believed so strongly that everyone should have civil rights, they were willing to
risk their own lives for it. People such as Martin Luther King Jr, Rosa Parks, Ruby Bridges,
Elizabeth Eckford, Ernest Green, Hazel Massery, and many others. One of the many civil rights
activists was Malcolm Little, who later changed his name to Malcolm X. Malcolm X was one of the
activists who fought back violently. All of these civil rights activists wanted generally the same
thing. Dr. King wants the same thing I want. Freedom Malcolm X. Many of them used words, and
peaceful protests, many of which were led by Martin Luther King Jr. Malcolm X strongly believed
that peace would never solve anything, so he decided to use violence to get his way.

Midwestern Contemporary Art Case Study Essay
Midwestern Contemporary Art Case Study The Midwestern Contemporary Art case study presents
a relationship between a director; Keith Schmidt, and Peter Smith the chairman. Peter Smith
pledged $5 million towards the Midwestern Contemporary Art Museum. Both Peter Smith and
Keith Schmidt had a disagreement on the way the funds should be spent on projects around the

Providing High Quality Liquid Assets ( Hqla )
In order to meet its liquidity needs to survive a significantly severe liquidity stress scenario
lasting for a month, Liquidity Coverage Ratio (LCR) s requirement aims to ensure that banking
institutions have sufficient High Quality Liquid Assets (HQLA) that can be readily converted
into cash (Lange, Saunders Cornett, 2015). The LCR is a ratio and firms would be required to
keep HQLA equal to at least 100 percent of total net cash outflows over the next 30 calendar days.
The LCR has been implemented since 1st January 2015, but the minimum requirement was set
starting at 60% and increase in equal annual steps to reach 100% by 1st January 2019. The LCR is
ensured through this approach so that it can be introduced without material disruption to the orderly
strengthening of banking systems.
According to APRA, HQLA includes cash, bankbills and certificates of deposits (CDs) issued by
Financial Intermediaries (FIs) and at call deposits, must be free from encumbrances (Lange et al.,
2015). When Basel III liquidity reforms, LCR does not call for any minimum quantity of cash
reserves, unlike traditional reserve requirements, instead, calls for a minimum quantity of various
HQLA. Besides, LCR differentiates itself through being applied to nearly all bank liabilities,
including derivatives and off balance sheet loan commitments, according to their maturity. With
this, it is more restrictive than conventional reserve requirements, causing it to strive to prevent
banks from

Discussion Questions Browning
1.What is this poem s expressive purpose?
This poem s expressive purpose is to show the listener what the speaker s last duchess was like, and
through this, show what the duke himself is like. He explains that this piece was done very well,
and that the expression that the duchess seems to be making in the painting could be a result of
when Fr Pandolf chanced to say Her mantle laps / Over my lady s wrist too much, or Paint / Must
never hope to reproduce the faint / Half flush that dies along her throat. This shows that any simple
compliments that the painter may have chosen to give to the duchess were enough to cause a an
earnest glance with such depth and passion. From here on, the speaker is conveying serious
disappointment in how the duchess acted; she appreciated him just as she appreciated everything
and everyone else.
2.How many characters do we find in this poem?
In this poem, we find six individual characters. There is the duke himself, the person he is speaking
to (who is servant to a count), the count, Fr Pandolf , Claus of Innsbruck who has cast in bronze a
statue of Neptune...Taming a sea horse for the duke, and the duchess herself. There are also some
other people that are spoken of, such as the officious fool who brought the duchess a bough of
cherries and the people who are waiting for the duke and the servant.

Swot Analysis of Ryanair
2. Procedure
The research for this report, which is focused on a S.W.A.T. analysis on Ryanair, was fully based
on internet web sites. For full information, refer to the bibliography at the end of he report.
3. Findings
3.1 Strengths
a. Leadership in the low cost sector
Ryanair was Europe s original low fares airline and is still Europe s largest low fares carrier.
Currently the company carries over 35m. passengers on 325 low fare routes across 21 European
countries ( Ryanair).
As a matter of fact Ryanair is currently the largest low cost company on the market with 12
European bases, a fleet of over 250 aircrafts and more than 2700 employees.
Moreover the company provides frequent point to point services which allows them to avoid ...

In addition the company is now recruiting its cabin crew in Poland and in Latvia in order to cut
further down its costs, the fact is that people spend enormous amounts of money(for their
standards) for a English course provided from the company in order to get a chance to get hired,
which represents not only a bad image but also a bad advertisement for Ryanair.
In general the whole staff is working under big pressure set by an overhead person and most
commonly with feelings of unsatisfaction.
b. Low quality services and attitudes towards customers
b.1. Disabled people
Bob Ross successfully sued Britain s favourite airline on January 30. Ross has stamina problems
as a result of having cerebral palsy and was charged 18 pounds by Ryanair for the use of a
wheelchair through the concourse of Stansted Airport. Other airlines absorb this cost but Ryanair
have been making disabled people pay extra (BBC).
This example successfully shows how the company does not take care of all its customers in the
way it should be done, therefore this case was brought to court since it was found unacceptable the
fact that a disabled person had to pay for the transportation through the airport, which normally it is
a cost that is absorbed by the company. Unfortunately this is not their only case, in fact it has
happened that Ryanair had to unload from the

Often, the virus is dormant and the carrier is unaware of the chronic disease they hold. There are
two types of herpes, HSV 1 and HSV 2. There are only a few symptoms for this virus. They may
be blisters on the genital areas, and sores around the outside of the mouth. People that do show
symptoms will show within four to seven days after the infection has already entered their body.
These symptoms may last as long as twenty days. Initially when someone becomes infected if they

look beyond the appropriate rate for the investment to make, but Nodal acquires assets in a foreign

country without modifying the initial investment and it is much the impact of currency fluctuations
where these actions is no longer good for business, cannot take their assets and retire, but has to
evaluate all assets and sell the real estate. But before that happens and for proper economic
performance of real income derivatives, must be exchanged for dollars in each period, to distribute
investment and benefits, in order to reduce risks.
ALTERNATIVES
Take the currency risk, and buy real, hoping it will appreciate in future. This seemed to be a
favorable option because the real had consistently appreciated against the dollar over the past three
years, and macro volatility is low and economic policy is sound although the fiscal and external
solvencies are now a non issue and the balance of payments is being backed up by strong inflows
of dollar.

projections against the spot rate though. In this case had an option to have Forward contracts,

Cultural Values Of Athens
ATHENS IS THE PLACE TO BE!! Athens is an independent city state in ancient greece that has
many cultural values. Athens was formed of the Mycenaeans. The citystate of Athens is
independent because seas and mountains separate it from the other city states in ancient greece.
Athens is a well rounded city state that supports educations, military involvement, and government.
. To begin with, Athens educationwas extremely important. Only boy citizens attended private
schools and would learn about poetry, literature, math, and science from ages 6 17.This was
needed in order to become a citizen and carry out duties. As stated the ability to read and write was
important to all Athenian people , reading and writing was needed in order to be a citizen, and carry
out their duty.. (Document A). This quote explains that the citystate of Athens felt that it was
essential for men to be educated in order to be an important citizen within their culture. Also, as
part as the Athenian boys took part in sports. Athenians believed that it was important to not only
study subjects but also to have physical activity in order to have men with strong minds and bodies.
Additionally girls did not receive the formal education that the boys got, they were educated at
home by their mothers. Because women were not apart of the government in Athens, they were
simply taught household duties. Only if they were part of a wealthy family they learned to read and
write.

Meenen, Bailey Ochs, Allison Olive, Marit Pavek) Date: 04/03/2014 Subject: Case 08 6, The
Rump Organization Statement of Relevant Facts: The Rump Organization, a SEC registrant, is
planning a corporate restructuring plan. On December 27, 2005 Ronald Rump, the CEO of the
organization, along with the Board of Directors approved a plan to involuntarily terminate 100 of
the organization s employees. There is an option for each of the employees to sign a litigation
waiver, which forfeits any right they have for legal action against Rump. In exchange for their

Alternatively, if the employee s termination is considered voluntary a liability will be recorded
when the employee leaves the company (ASC 712 10 25 1). In order to answer this question we
need to establish the communication date in the case. After establishing the communication date
we need to determine if all criteria presented in ASC 420 10 25 4 are satisfied. An additional issue
is if the past one time severance benefit offered to employees being terminated could be considered
an enhancement to an ongoing benefit arrangement. If it is considered an enhancement, the liability
would be recognized when it is probable that a future settlement will be reached (ASC 420 10 55
18). Conclusions and Authoritative Reasoning: Below is a summary of our conclusions and
authoritative reasoning for each of the provisions: 1. We conclude that Rump should recognize the
liability for the expected employee termination benefits on the communication date, upon meeting
all four criteria presented in ASC 420 10 25 4 and communicated to the employees, which is
December 31, 2005. We believe that the termination of the employees is involuntary. We also
concluded that the benefit arrangement is not to be treated as an enhancement to an ongoing
benefit arrangement. a. Following is a discussion of the four criteria presented in ASC 420 10 25 4:

A Look At Non Alzheimer s Disease
A Look At Non Alzheimer s Disease Dementias
By Katie Bergstrom, PA S
ABSTRACT:
The most common tendency in assessing patients who display signs of dementia is to evaluate
them for Alzheimer s Disease. This means that Vascular Dementia, Dementia with Lewy Bodies,
and Parkinson s Disease Dementia are conversely overlooked as possible diagnoses. Special
attention to clinical presentation and the use of diagnostic tests (such as the MRI) and assessment
scales (like the Mini Mental State Exam) aid in distinguishing between these diseases, and therefore
better the evaluation process. There are other telltale markers that aid in assessing these diseases, as
well. Alzheimer s Disease often presents with a slow decline in memory, while Vascular Dementia
patients experiences sharp declines in cognition. Patients suffering from Parkinson s Disease
Dementia and Dementia with Lewy bodies often present with symptoms of psychoses and
hallucinations as well as cognitive impairments, and they differ in the onset time of dementia. The
early detection of cognitive decline is important not only for the treatment but also for improving
the caregiver burden of these patients. Management of these disorders is focused on symptomatic
relief, but it is also important to minimize life style risk factors for all dementias.
INTRODUCTION:
Although Alzheimer s Disease (AD) is the most widely known cause of dementia in the elderly
population, there are many other explanations and clinical diagnoses that

Disadvantages Of Intersectionality
To be a person, requires intersectionality. Intersectionality is the idea that people do not function on
only one aspect of their being, but instead, function on every aspect. Aspects that include race,
gender, ability, etc. With this intersectionality comes innumerable categories that lie on the scale of
privileged, oppressed, or somewhere in between. To be privileged is to have advantages that are
not necessarily earned, and instead come with a specific, usually uncontrollable feature, such as race
, gender, class, and ability. To be oppressed is to have disadvantages that are not earned, but
instead come with the same uncontrollable categories as privilege. Even cis gendered,
heterosexual, white, men have aspects of their intersectionality that might not place them at the
top of the privilege hierarchy. And it is in these complications where people start to place doubts
on their own privileges. It is important to realize that it is nearly impossible to have privilege in
every single way or oppression in every single way, yet, this is not an excuse to deny privileges.
Even with some oppressions, some are still granted more advantages than others. To delve into
this deeper, analyzing writings from established writers, such as Peggy McIntosh and Devon
Carbado become necessary. In Peggy McIntosh s White Privilege: Unpacking the Invisible
Knapsack, she expresses her own privileges as a white woman. She says things such as, I do not

Comparison Between Luxor Temple And Saint Peter s Basilica
ANCIENT ARCHITECTURE
Luxor Temple and Saint Peter s Basilica
I.OVERVIEW
The two pieces of art that I have chosen to compare are The Luxor Temple located in Luxor,
Egypt and Saint Peter s Basilica located within Vatican City of Rome, Italy. The ancient design has
fostered some of its styles and characteristics into future generations, and also upheld the mysteries
of phenomenal architecture over the centuries. I believe the Luxor Temple and Saint Peter s
Basilica are good pieces for comparison. The details and the architectural features between both of
these great Arts show ingenuity, symmetry, geometry and balance from two very diverse time
periods. The aspects of their values, religious beliefs, culture, and mythology play key roles in the
beliefs of both timepieces of Art. The architectural medium is not only impressive, but it is
captivating to the eye as well. One can only marvel at the unique wonders of ancient civilization.

Assembly Language
ASSEMBLY LANGUAGE
An assembly language is a low level programming language for a computer, microcontroller, or
other programmable device, in which each statement corresponds to a single machine code
instruction. Each assembly language is specific to a particular computer architecture, in contrast to
most high level programming languages, which are generally portable across multiple systems.
Assembly language is converted into executable machine code by a utility program referred to as
an assembler; the conversion process is referred to as assembly, or assembling the code.
Assembly language uses a mnemonic to represent each low level machine operation or opcode.
Some opcodes require one or more operands as part of the instruction, and most ... Show more

The popular arcade game NBA Jam (1993) is another example. Assembly language has long been
the primary development language for many popular home computers of the 1980s and 1990s
(such as the Sinclair ZX Spectrum, Commodore 64, Commodore Amiga, and Atari ST). This was
in large part because BASIC dialects on these systems offered insufficient execution speed, as well
as insufficient facilities to take full advantage of the available hardware on these systems. Some
systems, most notably the Amiga, even have IDEs with highly advanced debugging and macro
facilities, such as the freeware ASM One assembler, comparable to that of Microsoft Visual Studio
facilities (ASM One predates Microsoft Visual Studio).
The Assembler for the VIC 20 was written by Don French and published by French Silk. At 1,639
bytes in length, its author believes it is the smallest symbolic assembler ever written. The assembler
supported the usual symbolic addressing and the definition of character strings or hex strings. It
also allowed address expressions which could be combined with addition, subtraction,
multiplication, division, logical AND, logical OR, and exponentiation operators.

Variables Of The Working Capital Requirements Essay
Dependent variables
1 working capital requirement ( WCR )
The study observes the determinants of the working capital requirements of an enterprise. Working
Capital Requirements (WCR_TA) were included as a dependent variable, as used by Shulman and
Cox (1985), as a measure of working capital management (cash and equivalents + marketable
securities + inventories + accounts receivables) (accounts payables + other payables). Working
capital requirements are deflated by total assets to control the size effect
2 Cash Conversion Cycle (CCC)
Cash Conversion Cycle (CCC) as a measure of working capital management, where a shorter CCC
represents the aggressiveness of working capital management measured by the following Cash
Conversion Cycle = Inventory days + Accounts Receivables days Accounts Payable day
Independent Variable Measures:
1 Operating cash flows deflated by total assets (OCF_TA) the cash flows generated from the
routine operations of the enterprise and obtained directly from the cash flow statement as well as
deflated by total assets. The high value of this ratio shows that the enterprise main operation
generating enough cash this also decreasing operation risk.

My Life As A Better Life
A lot of people would always look back at their childhood and say, Wow! Those were good times.
To me, it wasn t. I was easy to get picked on as I was chubby and I am unable to speak Bahasa
Indonesia fluently. In my elementary school, I began to get a lot of hatred from my classmates
as they would speak behind my back. I began to hate humanity and began to develop depression
over the years. As I was always being picked on, I was unable to create any friends until I moved
to Malaysia. When I moved to Malaysia, I had a mindset of: There is no point of making any
friends. This all changed once I met Chan Young Jeon, or as known as CY. Despite my
traumatizing childhood, CY helped me experience a better life with his compassion, diligence,
and creativity. Having the ability to analyze other people just by looking at them is something
unique, most of us cant do it but CY can. CY has this ability and it has become second nature for
him. When I moved to Malaysia, he could tell that I was timid. When he sat next to me, he
began to ask questions about my age, the places I ve been and my impression of Malaysia. At
first, I did not know what to do because usually, no one would go up to me. When he struck a
conversation, I began to mumble and he could tell I was scared. As he realized this, he took me
around the school and I asked him questions such as How is the community here? Are they
friendly? When I asked him these questions, he immediately knew I got bullied frequently. He
began to introduce me to some of his friends and taught me how to socialize. Out of curiosity, I
asked him Why are you helping me? He replied back I know you have been through a rough
patch and you seem like you need a friend to guide you. I began to understand why he was
compassionate towards other people. He did this to make sure that they are not alone in this and
lending a helping hand allows other people to not feel abandoned. CY wasn t very diligent in
school. He is a strong procrastinator and he would try to skip school. Despite his bad habits, he
was able to make money independently by creating his own small business. He put countless hours
into his new business as he would research on the latest trends. At the end of the day,

Public Goods Game Experiment
Introduction
A public goods game is an experimental game where subjects choose the amount of money or
tokens they would like to place in a public pot. It is done so privately without anyone else knowing
about it. The amount is then multiplied equally by a factor, and it is then equally shared among the
participants. (Radoc, 2001) Although some players would have contributed less they are allowed to
keep tokens or money amounts they did not contribute. Peoples contributions are also heavily
subjective what how much their peers contribute, and also benchmarked upon previous
contributions (Augenblick Cunha, 2014) We have conducted a small experiment in our student
accommodation to test and see the behavior of people in a natural setting.

Turn Pete Seeger Song Essay
Musician, song writer, and social activist, Pete Seeger wrote the hit Turn! Turn! Turn!, which
was popularly covered by the American rock band, The Byrds. Seeger adapted the lyrics from
Ecclesiastes chapter 3. Before delving deeper into the meaning of Ecclesiastes 3 in class, I
would have seen little to no difference between the meaning of the Bible and the meaning of the
Seeger song. For me initially, both the song and chapter expressed the notion of life s beautiful
and dark times: the time for joyously dancing about the room or the time for feeling frozen with
grief. But, when reading and discussing Ecclesiastes in class, I finally read the verses in a larger
context. As a whole book Ecclesiastes has a more negative tone, even expressing the uselessness or

Editors of the text even potentially added concluding remarks to the controversial messages of
Ecclesiastes in order to remind the reader that their actions do in fact matter, because they need
to follow the word of God and his commandments. But, for me, the Seeger song has a more
comforting, much more widely applicable and more secular meaning, despite the fact that its
lyrics come directly from the Bible. The song alludes more to my initial interpretation of the
verses, because the words stand alone, without the greater context of Ecclesiastes. A line from
both the verses and the song that I find troubling is the suggestions that there should be a time of
war, and a time of peace. I had trouble finding an explanation as to why the Bible would promote
having a time for war, while there obviously had been times of war and there would be more
times of war, it seems odd that the Bible would make war an inevitable. Should there really be a
time for war? As I have come to study the Old Testament with more questions and with greater
analysis, I see and contemplate the violence of it. And I have come to accept that there is not

order for the agencies to make a certain amount of revenue from the fines that the lawbreakers pay
as a consequence of their actions. Some laws that law enforcement agencies set up in order to
create this type of revenue off of lawbreakers include speeding tickets. The action of speeding can
cause more good than harm because of the amount of revenue that speeding tickets can produce,
compared to the amount of speeding related automobile accidents that people who... Show more

In the event of an impending snow storm, ticket sales for any event would plummet because of
the fact that people would not want to risk going out into the storm just to see a show. Other
changes that could influence ticket sales would be other activities in the city that day, the time
the show starts, and the price of the tickets. Assumptions about the ticket sales that could be
made would be that the tickets would be sold in higher numbers because whole families would
be going to the show. 4. I believe that it is rational for some people to end their formal education
with a high school degree, some to finish with a college degree, and some to obtain graduate
degrees. Being able to pay tuition is one reason why people may not go to college, but there are
many there reasons as well including family reasons and personal situations. Some people may not
want to leave their families and attend college. Others might have a spouse that is in a financially
stable situation where it is not important for them to work. These reasons lead people

Coca Cola And A Low Calorie Cola
With each day, the advertisement industry is growing, becoming one of the most undeviating parts
of our lives. According to statistics, one third of all commercials are produced right here in the
United States. Being home to major multi national companies, the United States witnesses both
excellent and atrocious ads. While many firms have failed dreadfully sometimes to promote their
products through the help of a commercial, Coca cola has always flourished in this sector. Coca
Cola managed to produce astounding ads by consistently creating an emotional connection with its
audience. With the launch of its new soda Coca Cola Life in Buenos Aires Argentina, The Coca
Cola companyhas released another scintillating and heartwarming commercial along with it. The
sixty second Coca Cola ad advocates Coca Cola Life, a low calorie cola that is naturally
sweetened with stevia leaf extract and sugar. By chronicling the joys and pains of parenting and by
portraying a family environment, Coca Cola effectively elicits from viewers that connect their
product with a sense of the warmth of a peaceful family life. Thousands of ads have tackled the
highs and lows of first time parenting but none quite as magnificently as this. At the end of the
commercial, it sends out a message, Destapa Tu Naturaleza. Substantially, the brand s campaign
invites consumers to open their good nature. Eventually, they synthesized the idea of parenting and
good nature

INTRODUCTION
According to Assael (2004, p.2), Consumer behaviour determines a firm s profitability . Marketers
have come to realize that their effectiveness in meeting consumer needs indirectly influences their
profitability. Assael(2004, p.2). So it s compulsory for every marketer to understand the consumer
behaviour otherwise they will have a more challenging time to target a campaign that attract

According to Assail (2004), Culture is a set of socially acquired values that society accepts as a
whole and transmits to its members through language and symbols. As a result, culture reflects a
society s shared meanings and traditions . The culture manner has to contact with the factors
influencing the choice in product depending to the kind of lifestyles and background the
consumer is from so David should buy the car which would be having all the Features which he
wants and the price should intersect his income range respectively. Secondly, majority of people
working in companies on manager posts uses the car which had these types of features in it,
because the companies are far away from their homes so they want a comfortable drive; this shows
a society s shared meaning and tradition as said by Assail 2004. This car can also be used as a
family car because it is four seated and everyone living with the family wants to buy a four seated
car because of their family members.
Another factor that can affect this consumer behaviour would be his personal characteristics
such as his personal life style, age and occupation, which can also be expressed by (Kotler 2010).
In David s case, these factors would relate firstly to his occupation. As a Manager, he has a
limited purchasing power by which price is important factor for him, by considering this point he
can t buy any car which is out of his price

The Power of Eve Ensler s The Vagina Monologues Essay
The Power of Eve Ensler s The Vagina Monologues
When Obie award winning author and playwright, Eve Ensler, began collecting testimonials from
women across the country regarding their experiences with sexuality, she had no idea what would
eventually occur as a result of her innovative ideas. Ensler gathered 200 monologues from women,
and wove them into a play that represents the strength and vitality of female sexuality. The Vagina
Monologues were first performed in the basement of New York City s Cornelia Street CafГ© in
1996. Since that time, the play has become a symbol of awareness and advocacy about violence
against women, and has been translated into 24 different languages, making it an international
success (2005, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Vagina Monologues uncovered the vital role that female sexuality played in human life. Not
only was this unearthed sexuality something to celebrate, but it was also an indicator of hidden
tragedies taking place around the world.
The accomplishments of the Vagina Monologues can be attributed to the creation of V Day in
1998. As a result of Ensler s production spreading across the United States through small, intimate
venues, stories of women who had been victims of rape, incest, domestic battery, and genital
mutilation, began to surface. Ensler noticed this trend, and decided to start a movement to end the
violence. The plan was simple: claim each Valentine s Day, February 14, as V Day until the
violence ends. Once the violence ends, V Day will become Victory Over Violence Day. That goal
may not have been reached at this point, but Ensler s efforts have certainly created a worldwide
movement that continues to grow (2005, vday.org).
Today, Ensler s Vagina Monologues have opened the door to a new level of humanity: love and
compassion for the female gender. Since the creation of V Day in 1998, the cause has raised over
$25 million to become one of Worth Magazine s 100 best charities in 2001. With the translation of
the play into many different languages, V Day has created grassroots activism against violence in
numerous countries. Eve Ensler has

The Naval Battle of Port Royal was fought on November 3rd 7th 1861. Port Royal was a
Confederate city on the South Carolina coast. It was defended by 2 forts at the entrance to its
harbor named Fort Walker and Fort Beauregard. On November 3rd the attack under Union naval
officer Du Pont led a navy attack of 14 warships, 26 supply ships, 25 transports for 12,000 troops,
and the flagship The Wabash. The Confederates also had some small ships to defend the harbor
including a converted tugboat which each had about 2 to 3 guns each. The Union engaged the
confederate ships and easily defeated them. The warships bombarded the two forts until Du Pont
received word that Fort Walker had been abandoned. Shortly after Fort Beauregard was abandoned

And by offering the right products at the right prices we will help our customers live a more
sustainable life at home. IKEA has an important role to play in terms of taking responsibility for
people and the environment. This is why sustainability is one of four cornerstones in the new
Group strategy Growing IKEA together . We have a strong foundation to build on it is in our
culture to twist and turn established truths to find a new angle, a new idea, and to have the
courage to try to do things differently. IKEA is obsessed with making more from less, and we
hate to waste resources of any kind. This will continue to be our compass in years to come, and
we will stimulate new thinking and innovation in our sustainability work. Innovation is needed to
build sustainable solutions into the IKEA range and to tackle some of the global challenges
society faces. We need to identify and use more resource efficient materials and develop better
solutions for reusing and recycling IKEA products once our customers no longer want them. I
believe IKEA together with our customers, co workers, suppliers and the rest of society can make
a big difference. The 50 million low energy bulbs purchased at IKEA in the past three years
represent energy savings equivalent to the output of four and a half nuclear plants, and substantial
reductions of carbon dioxide emissions. This gives just a hint of the potential that lies in the word

Mainstreaming
The definition of mainstreaming generally refers to the physical placement of students with
disabilities with their non disabled peers. The assumption is that their disabilities are able to be
accommodated with relatively minimal modifications.
My question is; at what cost to the student, educator, peers and educational system is mainstreaming
worth?
There are many positives side to the mainstreaming process for example;
improve in social interaction, language development,
appropriate behavior,
Self esteem.
It also created a world where non special education students interacting with their disabled peers,

The questions of where the education should take place, who should provide the curriculum and
what should be taught still cannot be answered. The question of where and whether place A ,
regular classroom setting, or place B, special education classroom, is better cannot be answered.
The foundation of special education is based on individual need so the concept of one place
contradicts the commitment to individualization education. The question of what the students
should be taught also cannot be properly answered. Should they be taught the same standards in
the same way by the same teacher, again contradicting the purpose of specialized education, or
should they be taught on their level with specific skill sets for independent living in a specialized
classroom. Should special education be taught in large classroom settings where direct interaction
is infrequent or in smaller classrooms where direct instruction is constant for increased educational
gains? In the large classroom settings should co teachers be utilized, which has been proven to be
ineffective but an easy out for general classroom teachers? The questions cannot be answered and
are fueled by passion not principal and research creating a cycle of never ending questions with little

A feeder can be either an overhead line or an underground cable. In urban areas the length of
11kV feeders is generally upto 3km, whereas in rural areas the feeder lengths can be upto 20km.
A 400 V feeder should never be more than 0.5 1.0km in length as long feeders can unduly lead to
low voltage at the consumer end. AC energy is generated by alternators, which require prime
movers to drive them, the prime mover maybe a turbine or a diesel engine. Depending on the
source from which the prime mover receives the energy, Power stations have the following
classifications; 1.3 Hydro Power Stations If huge quantities of water are stored in suitable locations
and at calculated heights, then the energy stored in the water can be used to generate electrical
power. Water stored at high altitude s can be made to impinge on the blades of a hydraulic turbine
through penstock. This leads to the some of potential and kinetic energy stored in the water and
converted into mechanical energy. Since the turbine is mechanically coupled to the alternator, the
mechanical energy imparted to the alternator is

Essay On George Mcclellan s Assassination
The bloodiest war in U.S. history was fought from 1861 to 1865. Of the current thirty four states,
seven southern slave states seceded from the United States and together they formed the
Confederacy (Confederate States of America.) The war was an inevitable side effect of different
political standings and opinions, about the morals and duties of man in everyday life, between the
North and South. When the war started, the North learned an important ideology about what would
be necessary for the fighting to end. They realized that they had to win, and end the Confederacy,
in order for the Union to be whole again with Northern ideals. While on the other hand, the
Confederacy only had to prove themselves to the Yankees, in other words, they only had to hold the
fight until the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even though this was true, Lincoln still put McClellan in charge of his army on the Eastern
Theater. McClellan was well respected and admired for many reasons, he was very visible to his
men, also he made them feel like they were soldier rather than a mob of beaten men. McClellan s
men would take a bullet for him any day of the week and twice on Sundays, but with knowing this
he gets scared. He is reluctant to engage the enemy in battle and won t commit his men to the
fight. This is shown in Antietam when McClellan could have ended the war but is not obedient
and does not attack when he had the chance. Unlike Lee, he did not have any kind of military
experience outside of his time in battle. Robert E. Lee, the General for the Confederacy, graduated
from West Point in 1829, top of his class, second specifically. With constant odds against the south,
they showed that they had what it took to either win the war or bring it to a stalemate,a shown in
the Battle of Antietam, even with 1,200,000 fewer soldiers throughout the war, Lee and his
Confederate troops, were able to win most of their

university try to scam the system and cheat? Why as a school that represents the Jewish philosophy
which deliberately looks down on cheating, people are not able to respect the system and show
honesty during exams ? Furthermore; students here are sometimes in a situation where they are

Conceptualize Sustainable Development
Topic: The politics of Sustainable Development
Dozen of years after the second millennium, people are witnessing a world with a high level of
complexities, trans boundary issues at a level of dysfunction that seem not to cease. Today,
humankind is said to have a tendency to produce what they do not necessarily consume, and
consume what they do not produce; as well as produce far more information than the capacity of
any individuals to absorb (Mebratu 1998, UNEP 2012). The urges for changes throughout historical
milestones and evolutions have led to a new, global concept Sustainable Development . Associating
with the theory of Three pillar addressing the fundamentally systematic aspects of humanity,

Environmentalist viewpoints can be found through the notions of World Conservation Strategy for
instance (IUCN 1980), whilst the rationale of growth could be derived through Status quo idea.
Supporters of status quo believe that business is the driver of sustainability by providing
information, technology advances, and claim for no conflicts between market enlargement and
environmental stability (Hopwood, Mellor O Brien 2005). To reconcile these distinct ideas,
Mitcham (1995) stresses that sustainable development approach simply does not halt growth, but to
enable growth in a sustainable way.
Moreover, the ideas of sustainability are developed by principles set values and ethics on how
people regard development should be. Hopwood, Mellor O Brien (2005) identifies five main
principles based on equity; including futurity , social justice , geographical equity , procedural
equity and inter species equity . These principles do not only clarify the understanding of the term,
but to relate human equity with environment and ecology values. The ideological version comes up
with several new concepts, among which eco feminism and eco socialism are two of the most
significant. Eco feminism is about the linkage between feminism and ecological matters;
meanwhile, eco socialism assumes ecological crisis as a

Types Of Common Intention Constructive Trusts For sole name cases, there are two distinctive stages where claimant have to establish a beneficial interest under constructive trust before quantifying the beneficial interest whereas in joint name cases, it is assumed that there is joint equitable ownership (i.e. 50:50 split) where the court only has to quantify the beneficial interest. For single name cases like Lloyds, claimant should acquire beneficial interest before it can be quantified. There are two types of common intention constructive trusts: (i) express common intention constructive trust and (ii) inferred (implied) common intention constructive trust. Lord Bridge made two distinctions, where he referred the first category to constructive trust and proprietary estoppel whereas the second category to constructive trust. As regards (i), beneficial interest in a family home can be claimed through an oral agreement between the couple, where claimant relied on the agreement to his or her detriment. A lie can be considered as an oral agreement. However, it must have been communicated to each other. Instead of legal language, the courts are looking for language that forms the necessary intention on which to base a proprietary interest. Intention of parties must be common where Dilon LJ expressed that if parties intention was not expressed, common intention would be difficult to prove. Regarding detrimental reliance, claimant must prove that he or she relied on the agreement to his or her detriment. To ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Similarities Between Blood Diamond And The Constant Gardener The films Blood Diamond and The Constant Gardener both represent the relatively recent shift of modern film making towards depicting Africa centric story lines in order to spread awareness of issues such as corruption and exploitation to American and European audiences. However, the portrayal of Africa in these two movies in particular, should be carefully considered, as these movies may present the more stereotypical Africarather than the truth. A good example of the stereotypical representation of Africans is Solomon Vandi from Blood Diamond. In this scene we see perfectly depicted the two factions of Africa: Archer is shown in so called rural Africa, a place punctuated throughout the film with bright, vibrant colours and large expanses of dry, sandy plane. Here Archer realises he belongs, and to the viewer, this realisation is emphasised by the use of continuous back and forth cuts between where Archer lies and where Maddy sits, as Maddy s surroundings are starkly different. Although Maddy is still in Africa, she is shown in a city so modern it is given the same grey scale that is attributed to Western cities. You take the red pill you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes . I think the idea of knowledge being a truly powerful force is what sparked Wachowski s imagination, and because of this, was the idea for the film. Neo took the red pill, a decision I too would have made. This revealed to us Neo s thirst for knowledge and to what extent he was willing to go to gain information. In my opinion Neo made the correct decision in selecting the red pill. I feel that someone who strives for perfection, and somebody who strives to always do better should have the same thirst for knowledge that Neo had. When the question was initially asked of Neo, I did not see how he could turn it down; being given the chance to learn one of the biggest secrets on your planet, to me, was too good an opportunity to turn down. • 17. Malcom X And The Civil Rights Of Malcolm X By definition, civil rights are the rights of citizens to political and social equality. To simplify that, civil rights are rights that every person should have, no matter what race, color, ethnicity, etc. Some people believed so strongly that everyone should have civil rights, they were willing to risk their own lives for it. People such as Martin Luther King Jr, Rosa Parks, Ruby Bridges, Elizabeth Eckford, Ernest Green, Hazel Massery, and many others. One of the many civil rights activists was Malcolm Little, who later changed his name to Malcolm X. Malcolm X was one of the activists who fought back violently. The LCR is a ratio and firms would be required to keep HQLA equal to at least 100 percent of total net cash outflows over the next 30 calendar days. The LCR has been implemented since 1st January 2015, but the minimum requirement was set starting at 60% and increase in equal annual steps to reach 100% by 1st January 2019. This poem s expressive purpose is to show the listener what the speaker s last duchess was like, and through this, show what the duke himself is like. He explains that this piece was done very well, and that the expression that the duchess seems to be making in the painting could be a result of when Fr Pandolf chanced to say Her mantle laps / Over my lady s wrist too much, or Paint / Must never hope to reproduce the faint / Half flush that dies along her throat. This shows that any simple compliments that the painter may have chosen to give to the duchess were enough to cause a an earnest glance with such depth and passion. From here on, the speaker is conveying serious disappointment in how the duchess acted; she appreciated him just as she appreciated everything and everyone else. 2.How many characters do we find in this poem? In this poem, we find six individual characters. There is the duke himself, the person he is speaking to (who is servant to a count), the count, Fr Pandolf , Claus of Innsbruck who has cast in bronze a statue of Neptune...Taming a sea horse for the duke, and the duchess herself. Alternatively, if the employee s termination is considered voluntary a liability will be recorded when the employee leaves the company (ASC 712 10 25 1). After establishing the communication date we need to determine if all criteria presented in ASC 420 10 25 4 are satisfied. An additional issue is if the past one time severance benefit offered to employees being terminated could be considered an enhancement to an ongoing benefit arrangement. If it is considered an enhancement, the liability would be recognized when it is probable that a future settlement will be reached (ASC 420 10 55 18). A Look At Non Alzheimer s Disease A Look At Non Alzheimer s Disease Dementias By Katie Bergstrom, PA S ABSTRACT: The most common tendency in assessing patients who display signs of dementia is to evaluate them for Alzheimer s Disease. This means that Vascular Dementia, Dementia with Lewy Bodies, and Parkinson s Disease Dementia are conversely overlooked as possible diagnoses. Special attention to clinical presentation and the use of diagnostic tests (such as the MRI) and assessment scales (like the Mini Mental State Exam) aid in distinguishing between these diseases, and therefore better the evaluation process. There are other telltale markers that aid in assessing these diseases, as well. Alzheimer s Disease often presents with a slow decline in memory, while Vascular Dementia patients experiences sharp declines in cognition. Patients suffering from Parkinson s Disease Dementia and Dementia with Lewy bodies often present with symptoms of psychoses and hallucinations as well as cognitive impairments, and they differ in the onset time of dementia. The early detection of cognitive decline is important not only for the treatment but also for improving the caregiver burden of these patients. Intersectionality is the idea that people do not function on only one aspect of their being, but instead, function on every aspect. Aspects that include race, gender, ability, etc. With this intersectionality comes innumerable categories that lie on the scale of privileged, oppressed, or somewhere in between. To be privileged is to have advantages that are not necessarily earned, and instead come with a specific, usually uncontrollable feature, such as race , gender, class, and ability. To be oppressed is to have disadvantages that are not earned, but instead come with the same uncontrollable categories as privilege. Even cis gendered, heterosexual, white, men have aspects of their intersectionality that might not place them at the top of the privilege hierarchy. And it is in these complications where people start to place doubts on their own privileges. It is important to realize that it is nearly impossible to have privilege in every single way or oppression in every single way, yet, this is not an excuse to deny privileges. Even with some oppressions, some are still granted more advantages than others. To delve into this deeper, analyzing writings from established writers, such as Peggy McIntosh and Devon Carbado become necessary. • 40. My Life As A Better Life A lot of people would always look back at their childhood and say, Wow! Those were good times. To me, it wasn t. I was easy to get picked on as I was chubby and I am unable to speak Bahasa Indonesia fluently. In my elementary school, I began to get a lot of hatred from my classmates as they would speak behind my back. I began to hate humanity and began to develop depression over the years. As I was always being picked on, I was unable to create any friends until I moved to Malaysia. When I moved to Malaysia, I had a mindset of: There is no point of making any friends. This all changed once I met Chan Young Jeon, or as known as CY. Despite my traumatizing childhood, CY helped me experience a better life with his compassion, diligence, and creativity. Having the ability to analyze other people just by looking at them is something unique, most of us cant do it but CY can. CY has this ability and it has become second nature for him. When I moved to Malaysia, he could tell that I was timid. When he sat next to me, he began to ask questions about my age, the places I ve been and my impression of Malaysia. At first, I did not know what to do because usually, no one would go up to me. When he struck a conversation, I began to mumble and he could tell I was scared. As he realized this, he took me around the school and I asked him questions such as How is the community here? Are they friendly? When I asked him these questions, he immediately knew I got bullied frequently. He began to introduce me to some of his friends and taught me how to socialize. Out of curiosity, I asked him Why are you helping me? He replied back I know you have been through a rough patch and you seem like you need a friend to guide you. I began to understand why he was compassionate towards other people. He did this to make sure that they are not alone in this and lending a helping hand allows other people to not feel abandoned. CY wasn t very diligent in school. He is a strong procrastinator and he would try to skip school. Despite his bad habits, he was able to make money independently by creating his own small business. It is done so privately without anyone else knowing about it. The amount is then multiplied equally by a factor, and it is then equally shared among the participants. (Radoc, 2001) Although some players would have contributed less they are allowed to keep tokens or money amounts they did not contribute. Peoples contributions are also heavily subjective what how much their peers contribute, and also benchmarked upon previous contributions (Augenblick Cunha, 2014) We have conducted a small experiment in our student accommodation to test and see the behavior of people in a natural setting. Seeger adapted the lyrics from Ecclesiastes chapter 3. Before delving deeper into the meaning of Ecclesiastes 3 in class, I would have seen little to no difference between the meaning of the Bible and the meaning of the Seeger song. For me initially, both the song and chapter expressed the notion of life s beautiful and dark times: the time for joyously dancing about the room or the time for feeling frozen with grief. But, when reading and discussing Ecclesiastes in class, I finally read the verses in a larger context. As a whole book Ecclesiastes has a more negative tone, even expressing the uselessness or the meaninglessness... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Editors of the text even potentially added concluding remarks to the controversial messages of Ecclesiastes in order to remind the reader that their actions do in fact matter, because they need to follow the word of God and his commandments. But, for me, the Seeger song has a more comforting, much more widely applicable and more secular meaning, despite the fact that its lyrics come directly from the Bible. The song alludes more to my initial interpretation of the verses, because the words stand alone, without the greater context of Ecclesiastes. A line from both the verses and the song that I find troubling is the suggestions that there should be a time of war, and a time of peace. I had trouble finding an explanation as to why the Bible would promote having a time for war, while there obviously had been times of war and there would be more times of war, it seems odd that the Bible would make war an inevitable. Should there really be a time for war? As I have come to study the Old Testament with more questions and with greater analysis, I see and contemplate the violence of it. The main character, Matthew Thorson was suddenly announced as the representative of Thor, the god, to save the world from a serpent: Our champion is Matthew Thorsen (Armstrong 61). Being the youngest of the family and one that was the least gifted, he doubts himself by thinking, They ve made a mistake. They ve made a really, really big mistake (65). As a result of Ensler s production spreading across the United States through small, intimate venues, stories of women who had been victims of rape, incest, domestic battery, and genital mutilation, began to surface. Ensler noticed this trend, and decided to start a movement to end the violence. The plan was simple: claim each Valentine s Day, February 14, as V Day until the violence ends. Once the violence ends, V Day will become Victory Over Violence Day. That goal may not have been reached at this point, but Ensler s efforts have certainly created a worldwide movement that continues to grow (2005, vday.org).
