year old patient that came into his office for a second opinion. The lower priced dentist mentions that
the woman needed some basic dental work done to her teeth to keep them healthy. While (deleted
comma) the woman was at her general dentist, the dentist was attempting to force the woman to get a
more expensive cosmetic work done. Her general dentist provided her with an expensive treatment
plan for approximately $14,700. Upon hearing the cost, the patient went for a second opinion from
another dentist in town. After looking at her x rays, she was given another inexpensive treatment
option using composite now and later putting in crowns if needed. The patient got her work done with
the inexpensive treatment and goes back to her regular dentist for a routine check up. She told her
regular dentist about the bonding work done instead of the crowns. At hearing this, he replied that he
could have done that for her as well. I believe this was unethical for a variety of reasons. First reason

picture of Mari Bárbola and Nicolasito Pertusato. The infanatas parents, Philip IV and Mariana de
Ulloa, reflections are in the mirror. The artist also includes himself in the painting, painting a huge
canvas. When Velázquez was painting the portrait, he was trying to paint like the technique called
Baroque. This technique is the style used to exaggerate motion in order to produce drama and tension
in paintings, sculptures, literature, dance and music. He was trying to make a complex and credible

The Omnivore s Dilemma: A Natural History of Four Meals

As omnivorous beings, it seems that is both a blessing and a curse to have such a vast amount of meal
choices to choose from. In The Omnivore s Dilemma, Michael Pollan explores the majority of these
options and offers a sort of guide on how to make a choice. The UC Berkeley Graduate School
journalism professor takes us on an eye opening ride with this book where we find out horrifying
truths on the ingredients of the foods we eat every day and whether our choices benefit our bank
accounts more than they do our health and the earth.
The book is divided into three sections with each section focused on the major players in our diet in
terms of where they come from. The first section (consisting of the first seven chapters) would, of
course, focus the industrial food chain. The second emphasizes alternative foods, mainly organic foods
and the last section is based on hunter gatherer foods. Each section ends with a meal that he consumes
and gives us his thoughts on such.
Pollan begins his journey of exploring the industrial food chain by taking a trip to the supermarket.
Reason being, most Americans, buy their food from such stores. During this trip, he finds what seems
to be a wide variety of choices. However, majority of these choices have one thing in common: they
have corn in them or

The Tsar (Nicholas II) survived the 1905 revolution. However, the revolution in 1917 did remove him
from power. When asking why Nicholas II survived 1905 there are numerous factors to examine. Both
revolutions had extremely similar conditions. Levels of dissatisfaction, strikes and the country moving
towards a wartime economy are all examples. It is also important to see small differences which gave
the two events such contrasting outcomes and determined the survival and the fall of the Tsar.

he would establish an elected assembly to assist the government in their decisions. The strikes
continued until Nicholas was forced to act. The people realised, after being fired upon, that their faith

The same conditions did not exist in 1917. The people were under no illusion as to how the Tsar felt
about them. During the February Revolution, strikers carried slogans such as Down with the autocracy
written on them. With no support from the masses, Nicholas II had lost a key ally in his battle to
remain in power.
On the 30th of October he issued the October Manifesto , this proved enough to satisfy many,
especially the middle class who withdrew their support for the strike leading to its collapse. The
apparent release of some of his total power proved to be crucial to the Tsar s survival, as the people
would not have rested had there been concessions. The October Manifesto promised the following:
1) Guaranteed freedom of speech
2) Freedom from arrest without due cause
3) An elected Duma (parliament) with power to make laws
4) Legal political parties were allowed

The Invention Of Hugo Cabaret Image Evaluation The invention of Hugo Cabaret, an award winning
book by Brian Selznick. In a successful attempt to create a movie/book feeling, he replaced 158 pages
of words with pictures. This picture, depicted on pages 118 119, caught my eye because it effectively
contributes to the development of the narrative. It relates to Hugo s father, who is a minor character,
but the picture perfectly correlates with the description provided in the pages. This image is a
flashback from Hugo s mind. It shows that Hugo s father, can t stop thinking about the automaton
even at work. In the picture, Selznick has cleverly managed to convey the mood of Hugo s father.
Selznick produces this by using, body language and facial expression, which is my first criteria. He
draws the character to show that Hugo s father is absorbed in what he is doing, which shows his
passion towards his job and the automaton. His body language is portrayed in the way he handles the
mechanical part in his hands. As you can see he is handling the part delicately indicating that it is

These types of musical choices are plentiful in the first half of the movie, until being abruptly
