Skateboarding Vs. Longboarding
Skateboarding vs. Longboarding Everyone knows what skateboarding is and has an opinion on the
sport. However, not very many people know or have even heard about longboarding. Because of this,
most people just assume that skateboarding and longboarding are similar in sport and that the same
stereotypes of skateboarders can be given to longboarders. That is not the case at all. Even though they
may seem similar longboarding has its own unique attributes that set it apart from skateboarding.
Skateboarding and longboarding were both invented in 1959 as a way to surf in the absence of
rideable waves. They first called it, sidewalk surfing . These two styles of riding grew, except
skateboarding became a lot more popular. Skateboarders enjoy ... Show more content on

Longboards have bigger everything. The decks can be anywhere around thirty five to forty five inches
long. Skateboards are usually shorter, twenty eight to thirty two inches. Skateboards are also not as
wide as a longboard. Longboards tend to be around 10 inches wide while a skateboard is mainly only
eight inches wide. These differences in the deck give the unique uses for each. The smaller build of a
skateboard allows it to be maneuvered easily for tricks. On the other hand, longboards are built for
stability. Modern skateboards differ only in minor details like the brand or materials. Wheel size, deck
size, truck specifications, and deck shapes don t vary much. Longboards, however, have several
different styles of the decks, wheels, and trucks. Longboards can be built in deck styles such as pintail,
drop through, drop down, and speedboard. Along with the general style of a deck there are also
options for how the deck itself is shaped and built. Some aspects of unique longboards are the build
material, rocker vs. camber, concave, grip tape, and flex. Longboard wheels are unique in the
durometer and diameter of each wheel. Trucks can be positioned at different angles as well as being
outfitted with specific bushings to accommodate the responsiveness the rider desires. Each style has
its own perks and attributes which allows a rider to build a personalized board specifically suited for

Anne-Marie Slaughter-Why Women Still CanT Have It All
Being at the Top is Great, But....... In Anne Marie Slaughter s essay Why Women Still Can t Have It
all, Slaughter wants to incorporate her professional success and family to have a balanced life.
Slaughter is the president and CEO of the New American Foundation, a nonprofit, nonpartisan public
policy institute and has worked as director of policy planning for the U.S. State Department. Slaughter
is concerned about not being a supportive mother to her children because of work issues. Her career
requires her to work for long periods of time while juggling reports and writing commentaries on
drafts, leaving little room to spend time with her family. I agree that working in a high position job can
have a negative effect on how most women view their success because they are constantly working
without being able to put their energy to something they value family. Slaughter has two teenage boys
who need her attention, especially since her 14 year old son is misbehaving in school. She receives
calls in Washington, D.C. during work, but her son lives in New Jersey and there was not much she
could do. While working in Washington, D.C., she is only able to come home on the weekends and for
two teenage boys spending time with their mother only on the weekends is not enough. When
Slaughter s two year public service was over she immediately went home to her family. Slaughter was
excited to leave her job, but others viewed this as a disappointment. These reactions caused her to

Q1. Provide a brief summary of the case in your own words.
This case study gives an overview of Maori cultural heritage, tourism in New Zealand,
commercialisation of Maori cultural heritage and opposition to this commercialisation by Maori
people. The study gives a brief introduction of vast Maori culture that is developed through many
centuries and how they are trying to oppose any type of outside interference and how New Zealand s
government is trying to commercialise it by trying to make a balance between Maori cultures. There is
a brief introduction to a Maori place called The Te Whanaga Paemi. A place that has a very good
scope of tourism but Maori people do not want it to be touch by tourism industry, How commercial
whaling was once part of Maori culture and how it s today, Laws and legalisations made by
government to protect New Zealand s cultural and natural heritage etc.
So, from our group s point of view we have summarised this case study into following points:

How Does Charlie Chaplin Use Film Techniques In A Dog s Life
A Dog s life by Charlie Chaplin expresses a handful of social issues with comedy; it has filmmaking
techniques and numerous comic elements. The film was made in 1918, during World War I. Chaplin
demonstrates how poor people live and how certain people view them. The film takes place in a poor
neighborhood. Chaplin plays as Tramp in the film, a homeless man trying to survive. The film begins
with Tramp sleeping on the ground in an empty lot. In that same scene Tramp wakes up to the smell of
food. He s hungry and moneyless;thus, he steals one sausage without the seller noticing. This
demonstrates what poor people do to survive.
The film consists of three main characters: Tramp, Edna and Scraps. Tramp is homeless but still has
hope and happiness. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Music changes the mood quickly. Music can make scenes funny, happy and sad. For example; when
Tramp is running away from the tenderloin, the music got serious and faster. The music gets the
audience s attention and makes them more excited.
The title of the film, A Dog s Life, means to have a hard life. Life isn t easy and you re constantly
struggling to survive everyday; that s what Tramp was dealing with. The overall message is to be
grateful and be optimistic. To have hope and be happy no matter how hard life gets. Tramp was
homeless but had a great attitude towards life. Tramp was happy and hopeful. Even though he steals,
staves, and has no money; Tramp doesn t let that bring him down. Tramp, Edna and Scraps were all in
the same situation but their lives got better at the end. All you need is time and positive

Essay on Analaysis of the American Way
No matter how liberty and freedom are defined, America and its people have always prided itself on
being founded on their principles. Looking back at the founding of America , slavery, Civil War,
emancipation, reconstruction, and the times following all the way through today I would say everyone
should ask, is liberty truly the American Way?
Since I have not yet taken American History 1, I had to look outside this week s readings to review the
Monroe Doctrine and Manifest Destiny that lead to some of the attitudes and events covered. In 1823
in the Monroe Doctrine, America essentially told Europe and other powers in the eastern hemisphere
hands off the western hemisphere. Lands in the western hemisphere would either become part of the ...

These problems with people and the suppression of freedom were not confined to the frontier but the
south and north as well.
In the south, African Americans were technically free but the 1896 case of Plessey vs. Ferguson
established legal segregation. Worse than segregation were the lynchings. In 1898, Ida B. Wells
Barnett wrote, Mr. President , the colored citizens of this country in general, and Chicago in particular,
desire to respectfully urge that some action be taken by you the chief magistrate of this great
nation........For nearly twenty years lynching crimes, which stand side by side with Armenian and
Cuban outrages, have been committed and permitted by this Christian nation. (Wells Barnett) The
north was plagued with discrimination against Slavic and Italian immigrants. While American born
citizens moved into management and skilled labor jobs new immigrants were given less skilled work
many times based on discrimination rather than qualifications.
Both the racism already prevalent in American and nationalism led America to not only seeking to
expand in the west but overseas. As with Manifest Destiny Americans felt the obligation to right the
wrongs of not just on this continent but in world and the western hemisphere in particular. Governor
Teddy Roosevelt in an excerpt from The Strenuous Life said, I wish to preach not the doctrine of
ignoble ease but the doctrine of the

No Bruce Springsteen Or Billy Joel Concert
The moment I stepped foot into the doorway, I knew that the night would not turn out the way I had
expected. I was stunned in fear by the way people looked: tattoos, piercings, and hoodies was clearly
the norm at the scene. The room was dark, and I felt the stuffy air choke me up. First impressions are
everything, and this one was unlike any other; I was somewhat scared and uneasy. This is how I felt
the night my friends introduced a new idea to go to a metal concert for the first time. This was no
Bruce Springsteen or Billy Joel concert; it was a new entity that was explicitly more fierce and
threatening that I have ever imagined. Metal concerts are dangerous and unappealing places where
people fight, get hurt, and are reckless with their behavior; attending these concerts have demonstrated
how revoking the people and venue can be, and have changed my views on them and music forever.
I heard a tap on the microphone, a loud squeal, and there I realized that this music was not meant for
me. I am used to a nice soothing type of music: a good rhythm, with calming lyrics. This was the
complete opposite. The lead singer was screaming these inaudible words into the microphone as he
banged his head in a way that almost looked painful. The instruments were played recklessly with a
force that was incredible: the drummer slammed the bass, guitarists shredded the chords, and everyone
else yelled the lyrics. For a moment I was just still, confused, and stunned by what I was seeing in

Rural Americans Face The Struggle Of Accessing Healthcare
Rural Americans face the struggle of accessing healthcare, both preventative services and also
specialty care, here in America. What is the cause most often? Distance. According to a study
conducted by Buzza et al (2011), those surveyed believed that distance was perhaps the most
important reason for lack of access to healthcare on a variety of the spectrum to include: routine
healthcare, emergency care, specialty care, and in some cases diagnostic services. What the study
found was that among other things, improved means of getting to said services would in turn, improve
access to healthcare services for rural Americans. The demographics of this study looked at
specifically rural veterans, however, these struggles can be seen for ... Show more content on

Technological fixes are ways to solve the problems by means of technology, and often ignore
changing the behavior itself and rather just solve the problem with technology. Structural changes are
what are implemented as a penalty for not changing behaviors, typically an example of this is laws
and regulations that create a penalty for behaviors in order to change whatever problem is at hand.
First, how can the cognitive approach be utilized in order to change healthcare access to rural
Americans? Education of rural Americans as well as healthcare providers plays a role on access to
healthcare and their overall health. In rural America, twenty eight percent of adults rate their health
status as fair to poor, approximately nineteen percent of adolescents smoke, eighty in 100,000 males
and forty in 100,000 females between the ages of one and twenty four die, and approximately sixty
four percent of rural adults are covered by private insurance. In addition, only ten percent of the
doctors in the United States practice in rural communities and only about forty in 100,000 specialists
are in rural communities as well ( What s Different about Rural Health Care, n.d.). In terms of
educating rural Americans on healthcare, it is a known fact that rural Americans have a poorer
understanding of healthcare, let alone, often have lower education levels as a result, rural Americans

Final International Emergency Disaster Management
Final International Emergency Disaster Management

Abstract
Through the years, many countries have adopted the same guidelines when it comes to emergency
management. The system is ever changing with the types of hazards countries have to deal with, and
so is the knowledge to mitigate them. As counties adopt this universal system, it provides them with
an easier way to give and receive outside aid before, throughout and after an event or disaster.
Although very similar there seems to always be some differences around the world. Emergency
management and disaster response in France is very similar to the United States. Because of these

The Invention Of The Automobile Industry
The automobile industry is said to have its beginnings dating to the 19th century. Gottieb Daimler and
Wilhelm Maybach, of Germany, fitted their engine into a stagecoach in 1886 (Kindersley, 2011, 10).
They were both successful at creating the first four wheeled, gas engine vehicle. It reached a top speed
of ten miles per hour. Each engine was still being fitted into stagecoaches (Kindersley, 2011, 10). The
industrial revolution introduced a wide array of new ideas for the automobile. The ideas ranged from
air cooled engines, single cylinder engines, steam powered engines, electric cars, to a vehicle with a
sliding gear transmission (Kindersley, 11, 2011). Other ideas included overhead cam engines, and the
introduction of the gearbox.

For the industry this became only the beginning. Many other innovative designs to the engine that
were introduced during this time are still in use today. In 1926, both Daimler Mercedes merged to
become Daimler Benz AG. This was as a result of the recession during that time which forced many
companies into joint ventures. Their cars were marketed under the name of Mercedes Benz.
During the 1930 s, the world was gripped by the second World War which saw the industry, especially
in Germany, being used to support ongoing war efforts again. The cars of Mercedes were adored by
the Third Reich and the cars were being used by motor racing as well (Kindersley,15, 2011). This
enabled the company more exposure later on. The 1930 s were hailed as a time of great challenge
especially with the onslaught of The Great Depression.
The world was met by the introduction of the station wagon and pick up truck in the 1940 s. The
station wagon was a reintroduced Land Rover, . . . the Land Rover s wider appeal led to demand for a
more civilized vehicle the 7 seater Station Wagon fulfilled that brief, (Kindersley,113, 2011). The
station wagon was designed as a working vehicle and that could carry a lot of people. The pick up
truck was unveiled by The Ford Motor Company and named The F Series. This became most

Essay about History of the Computer
History of the Computer
The first devices that resemble modern computers date to the mid 20th century (around 1940 1945),
although the computer concept and various machines similar to computers existed earlier. Early
electronic computers were the size of a large room, consuming as much power as several hundred
modern personal computers.[1] Modern computers are based on tiny integrated circuits and are
millions to billions of times more capable while occupying a fraction of the space.[2] Today, simple
computers may be made small enough to fit into a wristwatch and be powered from a watch battery.

This effort was funded by ARPA (now DARPA), and the computer network that it produced was
called the ARPANET. The technologies that made the Arpanet possible spread and evolved. In time,
the network spread beyond academic and military institutions and became known as the Internet. The
emergence of networking involved a redefinition of the nature and boundaries of the computer.
Computer operating systems and applications were modified to include the ability to define and access
the resources of other computers on the network, such as peripheral devices, stored information, and
the like, as extensions of the resources of an individual computer. Initially these facilities were
available primarily to people working in high tech environments, but in the 1990s the spread of
applications like e mail and the World Wide Web, combined with the development of cheap, fast
networking technologies like Ethernet and ADSL saw computer networking become almost
ubiquitous. In fact, the number of computers that are networked is growing phenomenally. A very
large proportion of personal computers regularly connect to the Internet to communicate and receive
information. Wireless networking, often utilizing mobile phone networks, has meant networking is
becoming increasingly ubiquitous even in mobile computing environments.

Recording Studio Technology and the Producer
Studio technology has developed drastically over the years and has become ever more vital to the
record producer within the music industry. Different producers make use of studio technology in

Australia is split into different states and territories that have their own government. These territories
include the Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales, the Northern Territory, Queensland, South
Australia, Tasmania, Victoria, and Western Australia. This is important to note because each individual
state government manages the schools within its territory (Immi.Gov). They provide both the
regulations and funding to both the public and private schools, though the government only provides
the public schooling and private schools are offered by Churches and other groups (Immi.Gov). Some

TAFE Institutes provide education such as construction and engineering and typically grant an
advanced diploma (Working In Australia.com). Individual TAFE institutions are operated and funded
by the state government and are typically called Colleges or institutes, depending on the location of
the institution. Students who enroll in such programs are required to pay full fees and are not entitled
to the Commonwealth Program. The Commonwealth support program allows students to only pay part
of the fees while the program pays the rest of the balance (Working In Australia.com). After
completing a VET or TAFE program, the now former students are allowed to enroll in Universities.
Some choose to do so right after schooling, though some also choose to enroll at a much later date
(Immi.gov). Australian Universities and Colleges offer a range of international educational courses, as
containing some of the oldest and most prestigious Universities in the world. This ends up making
Australia a popular place for people to study abroad in (Working In Australia.com). In an interview

Different And Important Elements Within Graphics Design
Introduction: I will discuss several different and important elements within graphics design.
Specifically speaking, I will provide a discussion on the hardware and software and how these have an
impact on graphic work. E.g.: A graphics card, PaintShop, memory digital camera drivers and much
more. Additionally, I will explain the different file formats (using examples) as well as their features
and limitations; I will come to a conclusion to which of these suit certain graphical products. Adding
on from this report, I will compare the limitations of hardware/software where I will select two
graphic related hardware devices and compare their limitations the limitations of raster will also be

Furthermore, images on a monitor are made up of pixels (very tiny dots) the processor works closely
together with several software s and eventually sends data/information about an image to the graphics
card. What the graphics card does next is it decides how to use pixels on a monitor to create and
actually make the image visible (all this information is sent through a video cable, directly to the
monitor). As a result, a graphics card impacts graphical work because it is used to display image
contents on the monitor and process changes in graphics. ◦ RAM = This is an acronym for Random
Access Memory which is the internal memory within a computer. RAM is a container which holds
applications/programs, documents and files every time they re at run or graphic files that have been
opened. When a user insists on opening any type of file, there is a process that is used each time this
happens. E.g.: When a software application is at run, the program is copied directly to the hard disk of
the computer. This is then copied to RAM and, very quickly, it travels through to the processor. While
saying that, the more RAM is available, the better, as Flash and ROM take up a lot of space. Roughly
about 128 256MB (or more) is needed to for the best performances. It is often confused that a brand
new computer may resolve the issue of a computer

Essay about The Changing of American Families
The Changing of American Families
Television reflects how American families are viewed. Leave it to Beaver and
The Brady Bunch were the ideal families in the 1960 s and 1970 s, and in the 80 s, it was Family Ties.
When the 1990 s approached us, television shows took on a whole new outlook on American Families.
There were shows such as Full House, which was about a single father raising three daughters with the
help of his brother in law and his best friend. Roseanne was also another show that showed the
dysfunctional side of families. American Families keep changing, and they will continue to change in
our future.
Topics such as the changes in family logistics are important to be informed about in this day and age.

More and more women were pushed into the work force. The 1960 s and 1970 s became an era of
diversity and identity politics as a host of others sought recognition and liberation from the constraints
of discriminatory laws, social policies, and negative stereotypes (Erera 354). As more women were
entering the work force, they were becoming financially independent and were able to live on their
own. This led to many women who were unhappy in their marriage to divorce their husbands and raise
their children on their own. As more and more women became financially independent, the more
appealing single life became to them. Soon women all over were adopting and fostering children, and
many also decided to give birth while still remaining single. With the increasing numbers and
visibility of single parent, step, and adoptive families, the gay liberation movement opened the way
for the emergence of gay and lesbian families (Erera 355). Gay and lesbian families were starting to
become more common as the seventies had passed.
The eighties and nineties were a time when everyone was arguing over what a family really was. Erera
states Voices on the right blames changes in the family for a wide range of social problems, while
voices on the left look to the family to provide the basis for a more communitarian society (Erera
356). People were starting to blame the increase of family diversity to almost anything they could.

I would prefer Lindy Hop because it is a dance which helps to express ourselves and requires high
vitality, quick swing that hits the dance floor. It is a partnered dance form, traditionally danced a male
and a female. In this dance the man drives steps and the lady deciphers the signs and takes after. The
essential stride used in this dance is called the swingout. Artists performs alone in the vacant position,
then the couple meets up to dance in the swingout s shut position. All in all, the swing scene comprises
simply enjoying the dancing and meeting individuals. In this dance, we are stress free being genuine

Circumcision As A Medical Term Meaning
The word circumcision in the natural is a medical term meaning to remove the prepuce of (a male).
Circumcision is not just an act of removing the foreskin on a males penis but it is also the removal of
part of the clitoris (female).
Circumcise first appears in Genesis 17; God told Abram that he will be circumcised in the flesh to
show his covenant with God (ESV). In the Old Testament circumcision was done a sharp flint stone. It
was not just for the Israelites but it was also for the foreigners and servants in the land.
God is talking to Moses in Deuteronomy 10:16, were he makes a covenant with Moses. Verse 16, God
tells Moses circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart and be no longer stubborn (Deuteronomy
10:16). This is a parallel meaning. First God has obliged the cutting of the foreskin of the genitals
males and now he is making everyone to have their foreskin of their hearts cut.
New Testament circumcision is used in the physical; Jesus told them to circumcise the little boys on
the eight day after his birth (Luke 1:59). However, because in the later writings of Paul, circumcision
had become a overpowering deal between the circumcised and the uncircumcised that it took away
from the Glory of God.
Now, because of Jesus, there is no circumcision nor circumcision because Jesus has become the savior
of both.

What do these circumstances imply?
Once you figure step 1. .2 out, use your imagination to connect to the character.

Remember I m not nervous because I am this character; I feel its emotions, its struggles, its love and
hate. The most important thing when waiting for your audition, is not whether you re going to land the
part or not, is to prepare yourself to become this character!
Anytime a noun is mentioned circle it, you need to remember it and really make a relation to it! For

My audition wasn t believable; I think during the middle of my journey it looks like I ve become
apathetic, especially during a time where I should ve shown how much I wanted this girl.
When I got out of my character (when I disconnected) I stopped listening because I became nervous:
like I stopped acting and all the sudden was aware that I had all these stage lights cameras on me.
I didn t use my environment.
When I m re watching film, I couldn t see myself being authentic in those moments, like that s not

My Criticism: Take everything personally! What s your need! If you re feeling overwhelmed with
remembering the technicalities of preparing for your cold read, as well as taking stage direction, just

in the way we feel motion from day to day. This, in conjunction with Aristotle s philosophical world
view built on shaky logic and a lack of technology meant that the debate over the motion of the Earth
lasted well into the 19th century. Galileo was able to chip away at some of the arguments using
empirical data. However, the philosophical worldview was able to be adjusted to account for his
discoveries. One of the most basic arguments for a stationary Earth was developed by Aristotle.
Humans can perceive motion through the wind on our faces, the scenery passing by, and other factors.
However, since the motion of the Earth is not observable in the same way other motion is, Aristotle
determined that the Earth was stationary. This among many of his other ideas were used to build a
world view that was in place for thousands of years. Ptolemy built on Aristotle s ideas with his
conclusions regarding the dynamics of an object thrown in the air or dropped from a tower. Ptolemy
notes that when an object is dropped from a height, it falls perpendicular to the ground (DeWitt P. 92).
By Ptolemy s logic, if the Earth was moving, the object would fall behind the initial position; since ...

This describes the theory that if the Earth is rotating about its axis or orbiting the Sun, the stars should
appear to move relative to the Earth s position in its orbit. Ptolemy acknowledges that stellar parallax
should be observed if the Earth is moving, but since it is not observed he concludes that the Earth is
not moving (DeWitt P. 94). This was a damning conclusion, because stellar parallax was not observed
until 1838 (DeWitt P. 96). The crux in Ptolemy s conclusion is that he believes the stars are much
closer than they are which should have allowed him to observe the

Everyday Use By Alice Walker Point Of View
Everyday Use by Alice Walker is told from the point of view of Mama who goes by no other name.
She could be referred to as Mrs. Johnson, but the line, Who ever knew a Johnson with a quick tongue?
(Walker, 337), leads me to believe that Johnson is her maiden name. To be a mother is who and what
she is, in this story, with no especial plans for when her youngest gets married. While she would be
considered the protagonist, I feel that both Maggie and Dee are as equally integral to the story, and all
have their own and share antagonists. The short story may be told from Mama s point of view but the
plot truly revolves around all three. Each of the three main characters have at least one antagonist in
common: the time period in which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When she does ask, far from expecting to hear No, and is told that they d been promised to Maggie,
she gets angry. Dee had been offered a quilt before she went away to college, but declined because
they were out of style. Now, it seems, she sees the value in them, and the need to preserve. What
would happen to the quilts on the wall or the pieces of the churn when they went out of style? What if
she never thought of anything artistic to do with the dasher? What if she moved and didn t have an
alcove with a table large enough for a centerpiece, or the room for these pieces of art? We can only
imagine, because as soon as Maggie says that Dee can have them, and that she can member Grandma
Dee without the quilts (342), it s obvious which girl deserves them. This isn t lost on Mama, and in
taking action giving quilts to Maggie she stands up to her own personal antagonist and in doing so,
negates Maggie s antagonistic idea that her lot in life is to lose.
If it weren t for Dee s entitled attitude towards her family and outward lack of respect for them, you
could feel more easily that the time period was her antagonist, as well. She was not all bad, and had a
very real appreciation for the benches, churn top, and quilts. As David Cowart put

911 Operations Supervisor Research Paper
What is a 911 Operations Supervisor? A 911 operations supervisor plays one of the most important
public safety roles within government administration. These professionals supervise emergency
communications and dispatch appropriate services for police, fire and medical services.

Comparison Of Neurons And The Peripheral Nervous System
Inside human brains contain around 100 billion neurons, which primarily connect to other neurons in
order to communicate. Nevertheless, neurons help us perform simple, everyday tasks like answering
your telephone or opening a door. With the help of many different structures, neurons, for the most
part, let us communicate efficiently. (cite, book)
The nervous system is made up of two sections, the Central Nervous System, which is composed of
the brain, cerebellum, and the spinal cord. Whereas, the Peripheral Nervous System contains nerves
that allows your body to move, also known as sensory and motor nerves.
Similar to other cells, neurons inhabit a cell body, called the soma, which includes a nucleus.

Compare And Contrast The Emancipation Proclamation
The Emancipation Proclamation and The Emancipation Manifesto were two documents written in the
mid nineteenth century with many similarities. The two were similar in ways, they were abolishing
something that their respective governments believed was wrong, they were different in the way that
they were written for different reasons and had their own purposes. The conditions in both America
and Russia were similar in ways but different in many as well, the two leaders at the time, Abraham
Lincoln and Alexander II chose to solve their problem in a process that also compared and differed
from one another. I believe that the Emancipation Proclamation was the best solution for the problems
that these countries faced in my opinion.
The problems ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I believe that the Emancipation Proclamation was the better solution. The Emancipation Proclamation
did so much more than just abolish slavery. It gave the Union a clear cut war objective and that was
for the freedom of the African American slaves. Many African Americans soon joined the fight
because they knew that they were fighting for their own freedom. Lincoln knew as well if he issued
the Emancipation Proclamation it would create chaos in the south when word was received by the
slaves that they were supposed to be free. By issuing the Emancipation Proclamation Lincoln also
made it very difficult for any foreign nations to join in on the side of the Confederacy. The British of
the French could never join in on the war because they themselves had abolished slavery years ago
and the view of them in the world would decrease immensely if they were to join a war to support
slavery. All these reasons are why I believe that the Emancipation Proclamation was the better
solution out of the two

Special Needs For Special Education
Over the past years, the total number of students with special needs in the United States has grown
from 1990 through 2005. Studies from the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) show
that there are 4.8 million children enrolled in public schools who received special education between
the ages of 3 21. The studies show that in 1990 the percent of children receiving special education in
the school was 11 percent, while in 2005 the amount of students receiving special education grew to
14 percent. Actual studies by the IDEA during 2012 and 2013 reported that 6.4 million of the students
enrolled in public schools are obtaining special education. We can see that students with special needs
are rapidly increasing and at the same time we can notice that special education teachers are becoming
scarce. Taking in consideration all the aforementioned, I decided to interview a youth specialist
education professor. I wanted to know what truly inspired him to change his major and become a
Special Education educator. Malcolm J. Warren who was a political science major who got into
education on a whim. He started as a substitute teacher then as a paraprofessional and then was hired
as a teacher. He has been working with special education students for about four years. He graduated
from the Valdosta State University and he is currently working in a middle school in Georgia. He
loves his job and he has been driven to focus hard on achieving student success and inspiring their

Autistic children/adults go through all kinds of different interventions. Interventions can involve
behavioral treatments, and medicines. Many people with ASD have different types of medical
conditions such as sleep disturbance, seizures and gastrointestinal (GI). Working with these conditions
can approve a lot of attention, learning, and other interconnected behaviors (How Is Autism Treated |
What Is Autism | Autism Speaks). When kids are put in early intervention they want to have the child s
entire family to get involved and the family has to work with a team of professionals so they can
understand the life of autism. In some interventions some therapist will visit the home to work with
the family, this will involve parent training with parent leading the sessions while being watched by
the therapist. Other programs are held in a special center or a preschool. As a child starts to grow
older, interventions and supports start to become appropriate for that child s social and learning skills.
As children with autism enter school they may be put in a targeted social skill training classes and new

Natural Health Supplement Research Paper
Lots of individuals are becoming alert of the fact that they can go out and purchase natural health
Numedica total vegan supplements and improve their health enormously. There are some catches to
this.
Chemicals
According to a study done some while ago, around 30% of all supplements do not encompass what
they say they do. Several supplements also encompass chemicals and artificial fillers that have been
confirmed to impair the human body if used for protracted periods of time. You only wish to search
for the purest and most natural supplements available, but you also have to be alert of the fact that
there are supplements out there calling themselves natural and the using these dangerous chemicals.

make each other sturdier and offer greater health benefits for the user. This means that all the nutrients
have to be used in specific quantities and qualities to be able to yield more health advantages when
they are used together.
How to purchase natural health supplements that really work
Now that you know all this, you have a decent foundation to stand on. Finding the finest natural health
supplements can be overwhelming and even exasperating at times. The specialists have been
investigating supplements for numerous years, and it took them a while to find one that accomplishes
all of the criteria we have talked about above, but some time ago, they eventually did it. All of this

My Experience In My Middle School
Middle school changes lives, it s as simple as that. It changes everything that you know about yourself
and your abilities, and turns it upside down. When you walk through the doors on your first day of
school, you are confident and ready for everything to come, but by the last day of eighth grade, you
are exhausted, almost as if the school itself sucked the life right out of you. And yet, you have new
friends, amazing teachers, and new interests that you had never even given a second thought before
middle school. I myself have had many experiences in the middle school, good and bad. On one
faithful day in fifth grade, I became acquainted with my close friend, Azzia Berestecki. At the time,
we hated each other with the passion of a bull charging at a rodeo clown painted red. She was the
popular one, always surrounded by friends, and lovingly accepting the rule of teacher s pet. I was the
quiet girl who had a small circle of friends, and I was considered weird and annoying by Azzia and her
friends. We went on like this for a while, hating each other for reasons none other than biases. Then, as
if by fate, we both joined the robolab team at the beginning of seventh grade. We regarded each other
at a bare minimum for a majority of the year, but then the unimaginable happened. My mother was
rushed to the emergency room and was taken in for brain surgery. She would not have been able to
drive me, or herself, to Pittsburgh and back for robolab s final competition of the

  • 2. Skateboarding Vs. Longboarding Skateboarding vs. Longboarding Everyone knows what skateboarding is and has an opinion on the sport. However, not very many people know or have even heard about longboarding. Because of this, most people just assume that skateboarding and longboarding are similar in sport and that the same stereotypes of skateboarders can be given to longboarders. That is not the case at all. Even though they may seem similar longboarding has its own unique attributes that set it apart from skateboarding. Skateboarding and longboarding were both invented in 1959 as a way to surf in the absence of rideable waves. They first called it, sidewalk surfing . The smaller build of a skateboard allows it to be maneuvered easily for tricks. On the other hand, longboards are built for stability. Modern skateboards differ only in minor details like the brand or materials. Wheel size, deck size, truck specifications, and deck shapes don t vary much. Longboards, however, have several different styles of the decks, wheels, and trucks. Longboards can be built in deck styles such as pintail, drop through, drop down, and speedboard. Along with the general style of a deck there are also options for how the deck itself is shaped and built. Some aspects of unique longboards are the build material, rocker vs. camber, concave, grip tape, and flex. Longboard wheels are unique in the durometer and diameter of each wheel. In Anne Marie Slaughter s essay Why Women Still Can t Have It all, Slaughter wants to incorporate her professional success and family to have a balanced life. Slaughter is the president and CEO of the New American Foundation, a nonprofit, nonpartisan public policy institute and has worked as director of policy planning for the U.S. State Department. Slaughter is concerned about not being a supportive mother to her children because of work issues. Her career requires her to work for long periods of time while juggling reports and writing commentaries on drafts, leaving little room to spend time with her family. I agree that working in a high position job can have a negative effect on how most women view their success because they are constantly working without being able to put their energy to something they value family. Slaughter has two teenage boys who need her attention, especially since her 14 year old son is misbehaving in school. She receives calls in Washington, D.C. during work, but her son lives in New Jersey and there was not much she could do. While working in Washington, D.C., she is only able to come home on the weekends and for two teenage boys spending time with their mother only on the weekends is not enough. When Slaughter s two year public service was over she immediately went home to her family. Slaughter was excited to leave her job, but others viewed this as a disappointment. Looking back at the founding of America , slavery, Civil War, emancipation, reconstruction, and the times following all the way through today I would say everyone should ask, is liberty truly the American Way? Since I have not yet taken American History 1, I had to look outside this week s readings to review the Monroe Doctrine and Manifest Destiny that lead to some of the attitudes and events covered. • 7. No Bruce Springsteen Or Billy Joel Concert The moment I stepped foot into the doorway, I knew that the night would not turn out the way I had expected. I was stunned in fear by the way people looked: tattoos, piercings, and hoodies was clearly the norm at the scene. The room was dark, and I felt the stuffy air choke me up. First impressions are everything, and this one was unlike any other; I was somewhat scared and uneasy. This is how I felt the night my friends introduced a new idea to go to a metal concert for the first time. This was no Bruce Springsteen or Billy Joel concert; it was a new entity that was explicitly more fierce and threatening that I have ever imagined. Metal concerts are dangerous and unappealing places where people fight, get hurt, and are reckless with their behavior; attending these concerts have demonstrated how revoking the people and venue can be, and have changed my views on them and music forever. I heard a tap on the microphone, a loud squeal, and there I realized that this music was not meant for me. I am used to a nice soothing type of music: a good rhythm, with calming lyrics. This was the complete opposite. The lead singer was screaming these inaudible words into the microphone as he banged his head in a way that almost looked painful. The instruments were played recklessly with a force that was incredible: the drummer slammed the bass, guitarists shredded the chords, and everyone else yelled the lyrics. • 17. Circumcision As A Medical Term Meaning The word circumcision in the natural is a medical term meaning to remove the prepuce of (a male). Circumcision is not just an act of removing the foreskin on a males penis but it is also the removal of part of the clitoris (female). Circumcise first appears in Genesis 17; God told Abram that he will be circumcised in the flesh to show his covenant with God (ESV). In the Old Testament circumcision was done a sharp flint stone. It was not just for the Israelites but it was also for the foreigners and servants in the land. God is talking to Moses in Deuteronomy 10:16, were he makes a covenant with Moses. Verse 16, God tells Moses circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart and be no longer stubborn (Deuteronomy 10:16). This is a parallel meaning. First God has obliged the cutting of the foreskin of the genitals males and now he is making everyone to have their foreskin of their hearts cut. New Testament circumcision is used in the physical; Jesus told them to circumcise the little boys on the eight day after his birth (Luke 1:59). However, because in the later writings of Paul, circumcision had become a overpowering deal between the circumcised and the uncircumcised that it took away from the Glory of God. • 19. Ptolemy s Argument Essay The motion of Earth is a complicated idea to grasp. Its motion can t be seen with the naked eye or felt in the way we feel motion from day to day. This, in conjunction with Aristotle s philosophical world view built on shaky logic and a lack of technology meant that the debate over the motion of the Earth lasted well into the 19th century. Galileo was able to chip away at some of the arguments using empirical data. However, the philosophical worldview was able to be adjusted to account for his discoveries. One of the most basic arguments for a stationary Earth was developed by Aristotle. Humans can perceive motion through the wind on our faces, the scenery passing by, and other factors. However, since the motion of the Earth is not observable in the same way other motion is, Aristotle determined that the Earth was stationary. This among many of his other ideas were used to build a world view that was in place for thousands of years. Ptolemy built on Aristotle s ideas with his conclusions regarding the dynamics of an object thrown in the air or dropped from a tower. Ptolemy notes that when an object is dropped from a height, it falls perpendicular to the ground (DeWitt P. 92). By Ptolemy s logic, if the Earth was moving, the object would fall behind the initial position; since ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This describes the theory that if the Earth is rotating about its axis or orbiting the Sun, the stars should appear to move relative to the Earth s position in its orbit. Ptolemy acknowledges that stellar parallax should be observed if the Earth is moving, but since it is not observed he concludes that the Earth is not moving (DeWitt P. 94). This was a damning conclusion, because stellar parallax was not observed until 1838 (DeWitt P. 96). • 21. Everyday Use By Alice Walker Point Of View Everyday Use by Alice Walker is told from the point of view of Mama who goes by no other name. She could be referred to as Mrs. Johnson, but the line, Who ever knew a Johnson with a quick tongue? (Walker, 337), leads me to believe that Johnson is her maiden name. To be a mother is who and what she is, in this story, with no especial plans for when her youngest gets married. While she would be considered the protagonist, I feel that both Maggie and Dee are as equally integral to the story, and all have their own and share antagonists. The short story may be told from Mama s point of view but the plot truly revolves around all three. Each of the three main characters have at least one antagonist in common: the time period in which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When she does ask, far from expecting to hear No, and is told that they d been promised to Maggie, she gets angry. Dee had been offered a quilt before she went away to college, but declined because they were out of style. Now, it seems, she sees the value in them, and the need to preserve. What would happen to the quilts on the wall or the pieces of the churn when they went out of style? What if she never thought of anything artistic to do with the dasher? What if she moved and didn t have an alcove with a table large enough for a centerpiece, or the room for these pieces of art? We can only imagine, because as soon as Maggie says that Dee can have them, and that she can member Grandma Dee without the quilts (342), it s obvious which girl deserves them. This isn t lost on Mama, and in taking action giving quilts to Maggie she stands up to her own personal antagonist and in doing so, negates Maggie s antagonistic idea that her lot in life is to lose. If it weren t for Dee s entitled attitude towards her family and outward lack of respect for them, you could feel more easily that the time period was her antagonist, as well. She was not all bad, and had a very real appreciation for the benches, churn top, and quilts. As David Cowart put ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Lincoln knew as well if he issued the Emancipation Proclamation it would create chaos in the south when word was received by the slaves that they were supposed to be free. By issuing the Emancipation Proclamation Lincoln also made it very difficult for any foreign nations to join in on the side of the Confederacy. The British of the French could never join in on the war because they themselves had abolished slavery years ago and the view of them in the world would decrease immensely if they were to join a war to support slavery. • 31. My Experience In My Middle School Middle school changes lives, it s as simple as that. It changes everything that you know about yourself and your abilities, and turns it upside down. When you walk through the doors on your first day of school, you are confident and ready for everything to come, but by the last day of eighth grade, you are exhausted, almost as if the school itself sucked the life right out of you. And yet, you have new friends, amazing teachers, and new interests that you had never even given a second thought before middle school. I myself have had many experiences in the middle school, good and bad. On one faithful day in fifth grade, I became acquainted with my close friend, Azzia Berestecki. At the time, we hated each other with the passion of a bull charging at a rodeo clown painted red. She was the popular one, always surrounded by friends, and lovingly accepting the rule of teacher s pet. I was the quiet girl who had a small circle of friends, and I was considered weird and annoying by Azzia and her friends. We went on like this for a while, hating each other for reasons none other than biases. Then, as if by fate, we both joined the robolab team at the beginning of seventh grade. We regarded each other at a bare minimum for a majority of the year, but then the unimaginable happened. My mother was rushed to the emergency room and was taken in for brain surgery. She would not have been able to drive me, or herself, to Pittsburgh and back for robolab s final competition of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
