All small time liberal arts schools need something to attract future students to the school. At
Elizabethtown College, the biggest attraction is the not built yet sports and wellness center. The sports

However, then he goes into the history of the lobster. He shares fact after fact about how Maine s

that the name lobster comes from the Old English loppestre (Wallace 55). At first these facts are
interesting, but upon rereading the article one may wonder, what does this have to do with the
argument? The answer is, nothing. These facts are in no way essential to adding context to Wallace s
moral argument, but rhetorically they serve the purpose to distract and retain. If right after page one
Wallace started criticizing eating lobster, he runs the risk of ostracizing some of his carnivorous
audience, but by just narrating and sharing facts, he delays this argument and continues to capture the
interest of readers as they wonder where he is going with this.
Once Wallace finally does reach his argument, he continues to present himself like he doesn t want to
offend any reader by tip toeing around making a claim. He starts his argument off with so then here is
a question (Wallace 57), both continuing his conversational tone and trying to frame this as a

mosquitos originated from Africa and came to the United States through ships. The mosquitos tend to

United States. These mosquitos go through a complete life cycle going from egg to larva to pupa to an

written. This grant proposal is straight to the point, but gives enough information within most areas

What were the roles of women in the Saga of King Hrolf Kraki? Compare and contrast the various
female characters in the story. How were women viewed in Viking culture in general? In the Saga of
King Hrolf Kraki, there were four main groups of women: Queens, sorceresses, a freeman s loyal
daughter and an elfin woman and her daughters (Anon, Introduction). As stated in the Introduction of
the book, the important events turn on decisions made by women. Throughout the book, this quote
came to represent the fact that almost all the wars/fights within the saga was caused by some action of
a woman. Almost all these actions of the women in this saga was the root cause for all the wars/fights

plan in her own school. This will be working with at risk and special education students in the math
classroom and ways to better serve those students using differentiated instruction and technology to
help lessen the educational gaps those students have and to raise MAP scores.
Proposed Research Design
The proposed research plan will include two classrooms of at risk and special education students math
classes. Incorporating technology and researched based instruction to help increase MAP scores and
student understanding. The instruments used will be pre and post tests, MAP scores for the year,
informal daily bell ringer and teacher responses. This unit will take one quarter to complete and will
help in looking at further instruction in math for these students in years to come. Because of the small
sampling and that it is based in one school an action methodology is the best fit.
Sampling Techniques
The sampling pool includes two sections of Math 1.5, consisting of 18 students in one class and 13 in
the other. All participating students were placed in Math 1.5 by either teacher placement, MAP scores
