The Wasps Analysis
The Wasps is a satirical comedy written in 422 BCE by Aristophanes as the Peloponnesian War was
coming to an end. The playwright s purpose for writing this is to mock the Athenian society at the
time. Because Athens also became a democracy during the 5th century, this comedy is particularly
controversial since during the time it was written, the courts were being severely manipulated and
corrupted by Cleon. In addition to this, there various other conflicts that take place during the time that
this was written. The plot centers around the protagonist Philocleon and his antagonist Misocleon and
uses the popular Athenian democratic ideology to point out its very own flaws. The playwright
criticizes both the judicial conflicts, which is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In relation to the metaphor of wasps, the text refers to the house as being netted. It seems that there is
only one door in the home giving it a sense of a dungeon like dwelling. Misocleon sleeps on the roof
and is presumably guarding it in the instance that his father tries to escape from there rather than the
door he is aware of being blocked off. The well intentioned Misocleon, tries to deter his father from
his usual routine of going to the courts to sit on the jury for less than a livable wage. Although his plan
is doomed to fail, he still attempts to save his father from his job as a wage slave who has
unknowingly pledged his allegiance to Cleon, the demagogue. Although Philocleon does escape from
his son s poorly thought out trap, Misocleon does not accept defeat but rather attempts to reason with
his father. The father s willingness to at least debate the issue shows that he is a fair man and is willing
to hear what others have to say. Based on their discussion, the reader can see an obvious gap in
generational understanding of the litigious Athenian democracy. Philocleon is illusioned by his petty
wages and is obsessed with the praise of others and the benefit that come along with his position such
as the affection of his own daughter (600 5). However, Misocleon fires back at his partisan father
explaining that when he takes into account all of the taxes, then the income that he is so prided in, is
nothing but 1/10th of what the city makes. (650 5). He

Evolution vs Intelligent Design Essay
The suggested separation between church and state in contemporary America is not what the framers
of our constitution and our country had in mind as they wrote the words Congress shall make no law
respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof. After deconstructing
the words, the most insignificant adjective an, tells us that the framers wanted to restrain Congress
from installing any one religion as the official religion of the state. Those immortal words say nothing
about religion informing congress or society on policy, education, or progress. I maintain that the first
amendment s establishment clause regarding religion was to protect citizens free exercise of religion
from state interests and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Darwinian evolution is the theory that life after appearance and over time endured mutation and
adaptation through natural selection to eventually yield modern man from the same source, a single
cell. ID is the theory that life exists in its present forms as the product of a purposeful design. Both
theories use natural science to support their ideological conclusions such as embryology, genetics, and
biochemistry. A key to these theories being comparable is that they both suggest that a preexisting
being sparked life on Earth. Within evolution this point is highly debated and denied by many,
however the father of evolution, Charles Darwin, expressed in the Origin of Species his belief that the
first cell received its spark of life by the Creator. (Darwin 1900, 316) This will soon be important as a
reason why evolution should not be taught in public education at all if you believe that the first
amendment means a separation between church and state as evolution at its roots tells us that God
created life on earth. ID at its roots also asserts that an entity also lit the initial sparks of life on earth.
A core difference between the premises of these two theories is found in their assertions of the identity
of this being and will be analyzed next. In contrast, these theories are substantially different.
Darwinian evolution assumes that after the emergence of the first living cell eons passed as that cell
self replicated and began the

Shortcomings Of Social Media
Communication is an integral aspect in organizational success. The efficiency of both the internal and
the external communication determine the success of a given organization. As such, use of the most
effective means of communication is fundamental to the success of organizations (Benson, 2016). In
this excerpt, an examination of the benefits and shortcomings of using social media as well as having
kick off meetings will be analyzed.
Think of a time that social media was used on a project. Describe what was used and the purpose of
communication (inform, persuade, motivate, interact, inspire). What were the benefits and challenges
of using that social media? Citing a case in context, our organization aimed at motivating people to
participate in a corporate social responsibility (CSR) program. The members of the workforce were to
attend a tree planting event. However, much of the members were opposed to the idea as they
preferred attending a team building retreat. Therefore, the communication department was charged
with the duty of motivating the members to develop a positive attitude towards the corporate social
responsibility (CSR) event. Therefore, the communication team consistently posted positive effects of
participating in CSR. In this undertaking, the posts were made emotional hence touching the players
by both benefits and shortcomings of using the social media were manifested. It was meant to reach
all the members of staff almost immediately. Comments from

Reflecting on Industry Futures That Will Affect Print Media
Reflecting on Industry Futures that will Affect Print Media Executive Summary The commercial
printing industry, once the dominant communication medium of the United States has been changing
constantly for the last 65 years. Since the end of the Second World War, the commercial printing
industry has lost market share for a number of reasons. Unimagined technological advances brought
continuous innovations, new media challenges, a changing culture and increased domestic and foreign
competition. The result of these changes is an industry that s been forever altered and is facing an
uncertain future. Changes in Technology he job of putting ink on paper was once the domain of highly
skilled individuals possessing a broad base of knowledge that covered all aspects of the print
production process. Job functions were complex and the technology of printing required a craftsman s
knowledge of the processes and materials in order to produce quality printed materials. All of that
changed at the end of WWII. As profit margins began to shrink, printing businesses began heavily
investing in new processes and technology. (Wallace Kalleberg, 1982) Over the next 60 years,
developments in offset printing, electronic prepress and laser technology continuously shortened the
print production cycle and increased production capacity. The introduction of the Xerox copier made
the ability to produce a printed page available to anyone. The use of computers altered the workflow.

A Randomized Control Trial, Usher, Alcock, And Petra
In a randomized control trial by Smith, Usher, Alcock, and Petra (2013), the researchers aim to
determine whether the use of NeoWrap, a polyethylene occlusive wrap, immediately after birth was
more effective than standard protocol to control hypothermia in NICU admissions. Participants consist
of 92 infants under 27 weeks of gestation and 44 infants less than 30 weeks gestation. The infants are
randomly assigned to be in either the control or the intervention group; the control group is transferred
under the prewarmed heater immediately after birth, dried and wrapped with prewarmed towels, and
applied a hat. The intervention group is wrapped from the neck the down with the polyethylene wrap
before being transferred to the prewarmed heater and undergoing the aforementioned process. World
Health Organization s definition for hypothermia, as cited by Smith et al. (2013), is a temperature of
less than 36.5 degrees Celsius. This parameter was used by the researchers, and the temperatures of
the infants were taken upon birth and upon NICU admissions as well as admission time for both the
control and intervention groups. The temperature was taken axillary on the infant at birth, upon
admission to the NICU and every 30 minutes using a digital thermometer until the infant reached 120
minutes postadmission. The results showed that although the usage of wrap increased the temperature
in neonates less than 27 weeks old, no statistically significant difference on neonates 27 to 29

Essay on The History of Five Churches in London
The churches of London have been through a lot over the past few centuries and the show us every
major phase of English history. The church had a great importance in the medieval society and
transitioned now to the modern days. There are little events that changed the buildings inside and
outside such as the laying of London Underground which damaged only one churches and there are
big incidence such as the Great fire of London which completely destroyed or severely damaged over
80 churches.
Since there are so many churches I focused on just five different ones and their historic background.
All of them are set in the City of London, which is the center of the much bigger city London and are
still in use today.

A new way of building a church was with a cross in square plan, that is said to be a dutch influence,
and a very untraditional nave and aisles with subsidiary chapels.
A lot of churches needed a general rebuilding in the 18th and 19th century such as St.Bartholomew the
Great and All Hallows London Wall. These restoration were needed because of dissolution and decay.
During the 19th century declining population and church attendance in the city intersected with
growing appreciation of the buildings . Because of that Bishop Tait enforced the Union of Benefices
Act of 1860 which lead to the demolition of 16 city churches.
Around that time St.Nicholas Cole Abbey was disturbed during the laying of the London Underground
and St.Bride s Fleet Street was struck by lightening and needed some restoration.
A much bigger impact had the damage that was caused by bombs during the second World War. St.
Olave Hart Street for example was hit by four strikes and was restored in 1951 1954. Other Churches
such as All Hallows London Wall and St.Bride s Fleet Street had some serious war damage and
St.Nicholas Cole Abbey was burnt out in 1941 and reconstructed in 1961 1962. Even though those
churches needed some restoring architects of the 20th century tried to keep it as original as possible
and focused on the old parts of the church without any modern influence.
Throughout these years the churches were adapted

Review Of The Trail Of Tears
The Trail of Tears was a challenge since it was both a dramatic change (by losing each tribe s
traditional land, plants, and animals, as well as their horses being confiscated or killed [to prevent
escape] and their cattle being seized in order to discourage the temptation of absconding to live
independently) and a traumatic exploit (many tribes lost over half of their population). I picked this
topic because I have always wondered what exactly happened during this trek, how far they travelled
(where they came from and where they ended up), and how they were treated. The Indians, numbering
about 16,000, were forced off their lands when Georgia citizens and the president of the US ignored
the decision from Worcester v. Georgia. Almost 4,000 Indians died on the trail (including those
victims who died in the stockades awaiting forced transportation), in order to empty their tribal lands
and make them available for new white settlers. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I want to learn more about the Indians (tribes, traditions, and peoples) because since I was younger,
some of my favorite books have been about Indians, and my favorite thing to do besides reading
books about Indians was to watch old westerns (starring John Wayne) that focused primarily on
Indians and the threats or advantages that their presence offered with my dad and my brother (because
my mom has always been petrified at the very thought of Indians). This paper will review and discuss
various aspects about the Trail of Tears written by Gary L. Cheatham, John J. Dwyer, Natalie Joy,

Therefore, because they are closer the particles will collide more often. The more often they collide
the more chance they have of producing a productive reaction. If I had a wide range of molarities, it
would be easy to see this pattern.
METHOD
Before conducting our experiment where we would get our facts and evidence from, we carried out a
pre test. The pre test helped us decide the exact details of our experiment. We started off with testing
25cm³ of 3 molar hydrochloric acid to 2g of calcium carbonate medium size chips (we decided a
medium size chips before we started our pre test as we had a choice of 3, small, medium, large). We
saw that this reacted too quickly as we used 10 second intervals and we couldn t get 6 results this is
because our burette could only hold
100cm³ of water, which would make our results reliable. We then decreased the amount of Calcium
Carbonate to 1g and kept the same
25cm³ of 3 molar hydrochloric acid and 10 second intervals. We could get the right amount of results
of this, so we then tested the other extreme the lowest molarity. We tested both the highest and lowest
molar, as the molars in between would work and give us sufficient results if these two worked. We
took the 25cm³ of 0.5 molar hydrochloric acid and our 1g of calcium carbonate. This also worked.
This meant from our pre test that we would use 25cm³ of the solution,
1g of Calcium Carbonate and have 10 seconds interval between each reading. We

My Original Definition Of Social Media Essay
1. My original definition for antisemitism was: antisemitism is the conscience or unconscious hatred
of a Jew or Jews, because of certain characteristics that the hater believes the Jew or all Jews possess
by being Jewish. However, one thing that my original definition does not hint towards the wide
spectrum of behaviors that are antisemitic. This is an advantage that your definition has. Your
definition mentions a spectrum form mildest expressions to exterminatory activities. Your definition
goes on to list different examples of antisemitic behavior. One category of behavior is not mentioned
though, and that is the use of social media to do such things as cyber bullying. We talked some during
the course about social media, especially at the end of the course when we discussed the six
parentheses symbol. Perhaps a better definition of antisemitism could come about by combining our
two definitions and making mention of social media. The new definition could be: antisemitism is
defined as the conscience or unconscious hatred of Jews or Judaism from its mildest expressions to
exterminatory activates. The activists include making jokes, cyberbullying, the destruction of religious
objects, defacing synagogues, and murdering Jewish people. This new definition considers actions
despite weather or not the hater is aware of them. For example, a person could have always been told
that Jews are greedy. This guy goes around telling jokes about Jews being greedy. He is engaging in

Hinduism
To begin, my part of the project focused on the gods Krishna, Parvati and Shiva and these three gods
play a significant role in Hinduism. Hinduism has many deities within this religion and it is most
commonly practiced in South Asia in countries such as India. Hinduism currently has over 900 million
followers. The first topic, in my essay, I am going to compare and contrast Hinduism from the
Abrahamic religions to Hinduism. Most religions like Christianity, Islam and Judaism have a founder
and a main religious text but Hinduism on the other hand is unique in its own way. In the second topic
I am going to talk about the gods that I chose for my part in the project. The god Krishna in Hinduism
is one of the most popular gods of the religion. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Because Hinduism was started in India, some are offshoots of it, one is considered to be a direct link
of it and the others are movements of it based on a certain guru they follow. Here are some of the
religions that are similar to Hinduism, Buddhism and the movements are Hare Krishna s and followers
of both the Sai Baba gurus. Here are some of things that make Buddhism and Hinduism similar, both
believe in reincarnation and practice different kinds of yoga. Another thing that is common between
the two is that Ashoka Gautama was a Hindu and he is the founder of Buddhism and his religion still
incorporates some of the practices that are from Hinduism. Hare Krishna is a movement that was
founded in the U.S. in recent times and they focus their belief on Krishna. The founder of this
movement was A.C. Bhaktivedanta and he was told to bring the teachings he learned to the west to
spread the word and spark interest to join this movement. Their teachings come primarily from the
Bhagavad gita and another text. Another thing that they practice is they view the cow very sacred and
are vegetarians just like other Hindus. Also they are very small in numbers but they do have their own
temples. This group is similar because of how they look at only one part of the yoga s Bhakti, but they
do follow everything else of the religion. Another movement of Hinduism, are the followers of Satya
Sai Baba and believed he was the reincarnation of the god Shiva and also a living god. He was also
known for saying he performed miracles just like the god Krishna did, but there was a lot of
speculation that he didn t. Also he was well known for his philanthropy on providing clean water in
rural areas of India and has other projects that are currently going on. The other one is the original Sai
Baba, his name is Sai Baba of Shirdi and he also was a spiritual

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder ( Ptsd )
PTSD in Catcher in the Rye Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is most commonly thought of as an illness
men and women acquire from experiences while serving in the wars. Some do not even know what it
is or how much it affects people s lives. In the novel, The Catcher in the Rye, J.D. Salinger helps to
convey what Post Traumatic Stress Disorder really is. PTSD is a curable condition triggered by a
traumatic event with many types, causes, and symptoms displayed by Holden Caulfield.
All of the people who suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder have described the events causing
this condition as frightening and stressful. PTSD develops in about 1 in 3 people who experience
severe trauma ( Post traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Causes ). It is a common disorder and different
people come upon it in a variety of ways. In most cases, events responsible for Post Traumatic Stress
Disorder occur in the person s early life and in people who have a history of mental illnesses such as
depression or anxiety. Also, most patients have always had trouble coping with tragedies and do not
have very much support around the time of the trauma ( Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) ).
This condition can develop in different amounts of time following the situation, depending on the
person. It can begin immediately after, weeks, months, or even years later ( Post traumatic Stress
Disorder (PTSD) Causes ). Examples of the causes entail witnessing violent deaths, sexual abuse,

Jesus Miraculous Birth, The Gospel Of Mark Essay
Though Mark is the shortest of the four gospels, it seems to be the most action packed of them all.
Mark also tells the events in more of a chronological order than the other gospels. Skipping the story
of Jesus miraculous birth, the gospel of Mark begins with verse one proclaiming that Jesus Christ is
the Son of God, then continues straight to John the Baptist preaching and preparing the people for the
coming of the Messiah. Only nine verses into the opening chapter, Jesus enters the scene. He is
coming to be baptized by John. After coming up out of the water, the heavens are opened. In Mark
1:11, God speaks from heaven saying, this is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Here we
learn from the Father himself that Jesus of Nazareth is truly the Son of God. Jesus soon goes on to call
his disciples and begins teaching with authority. People quickly hear about Jesus message, his
miracles, and who he claims to be. In Mark 1:23, Jesus confronts a man with an unclean spirit. Mark
1:24 says, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to
destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God. Again, in Mark 3:11 unclean spirits fall
before him and say, Thou art the Son of God ; and in Mark 5:7 they call him Jesus, Son of the most
high God. Even the demons know who Jesus is and they fear him. As Jesus continues to gain
popularity among the people, he is given many other titles. In Mark 6:3 the people of Nazareth call

The Major Types and Possible Causes of Schizophrenia
Schizophrenia is a severe, debilitating disabling disease. There are more than two million Americans
who suffer with schizophrenia in any given year. Some of the symptoms of schizophrenia are
hallucinations, delusions, apathy, lack of emotion, disorganized thoughts, difficulty concentrating or
following instructions and memory problems. There are no lab tests to diagnose schizophrenia and
most times the patient is misdiagnosed with a diagnosis of bipolar disorder or major depression (
Daily schizophrenia news, 2013). There are several major types of schizophrenia but there are five
that are more common; disorganized, catatonic, paranoid, undifferentiated and residual. Scientists are
leaning toward prenatal difficulties as to the development of schizophrenia with genetics also playing
a big part. Schizophrenia
Schizophrenia is a chronic, severe, and disabling brain disease with approximately one percent of the
population developing schizophrenia during their lifetime. There are more than two million Americans
suffering from the illness in a given year. Schizophrenia affects men and women equally, although, the
disorder often appears earlier in men, than in women. Men are usually affected in their late teens or

Word Choice In A Good Man Is Hard To Find

A Good Man is Hard to Find Race is figured in A Good Man is Hard to Find through social status,

vacationing in Florida because the Misfit is on the loose. On one of the back roads the grandmother s
cat escapes causing the car to crash into a ditch where the family is confronted by the Misfit. During
this time the grandmother tries to talk to the Misfit, but in the end the Misfit and his boys murder the

Based off of the selection of word choice you can understand that this story was taking place in the
south. The first way you can see that the story takes place in the south is by this quote You all ought to
take them somewhere else for a change so they would see different parts of the world and be broad (O
Connor). The grandmother s use of the word ought should give you an idea that she is southern
because if this story took place up north she would have said something like you should . This quote
also shows you that this family is a part of southern culture because the grandmother says be broad .
This is implying that the family does not live in a large city and that they may live in a secluded area
where it is hard for them to be broad . Word choice is also exemplified in the quote Little niggers in
the country don t have things like we do . The family s choice of words when they are talking about
the African American race shows they are from the south based off of the stereotypes of the south
considering slavery was more present in the south than it was in the north. The way the word nigger is
used by the family also implies that the family in the short story is white. The analyzation of word
choice in this short story helps identify the cultural background of the family. The short story A Good

Government Intervention And The Internet
Government Intervention in the Internet
A growing concern over our privacy online is causing us to seek legislation to protect us. Although
this may seem harmless and beneficial for all, there are many valid points as to why the government
should not intervene. When it comes to privacy online, the responsibility should be left in the hands of

Symptoms And Treatment Of Pompe s Disease
Background Pompe s disease is a glycogen storage disease caused by mutation in a gene coding for
the acid 1 4 alpha glucosidase (GAA), the key enzyme in glycogenolysis within lysosomes. GAA
deficiency results in accumulation of glycogen and successive enlargement of lysosomes. As the
lysosomes enlarge, there is also accumulation of other related byproducts, overtaking the space
regularly occupied by myofibrils and impeding their function (Lewandowska E et al., 2008).
Individuals with a complete loss of GAA activity usually do not live past the age of 2, usually dying
from heart failure (Hesselink RP et al., 2003)(Sun B et al., 2015). Individuals with incomplete loss of
GAA activity, or late onset Pompe disease, typically survive until ... Show more content on

When the lysosomes are failing they begin to swell; the proton pumps are unable to properly maintain
the pH gradient to process and phagacytize cell products, causing the accumulation of lipofuscin in
skeletal muscle (Hesselink RP et al., 2003). These lipofuscin inclusions in individuals with Pompe s
disease prevent muscle from functioning properly (Feeney et al., 2014) Rapamycin, also known as
sirolimus, is an inhibitor of mTORC1 in the pathway for glycogen synthesis (Phyu SM et al., 2016).
Rapamycin is currently used as a treatment for many different medical conditions but has been shown
to reduce glycogen content in GSD III and reduce oxidative stress. It is a small molecule drug with
more specific purpose (Sun, B et al., 2015) as opposed to enzyme replacement therapy, the commonly
used treatment for GSD II which mostly treats the large scale cardiac problems associated with full
loss of GAA.
Discussion of Specific Published Data
Data shows that large deposits of lipofuscin are visible using fluorescent immunostaining in biopsies
of skeletal muscle (Feeney et al., 2014) Figure 1. Confocal fluorescence images of unstained fibers
showing numerous autofluorescent inclusions in the core of two fibers. Bar: 50 μm, (Feeney et al.,
2014)
Evidence of lipofuscin accumulation is seen for some of the patients in all groups of the study: adult
onset patients, juvenile onset patients, and patients

Christian Worldview Origin
Introduction This critical thinking paper will address five question pertaining to origin, identity both
meaning and purpose, morality and destiny. In congruently a comparison between the Hindus, and the
Christian worldviews. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was God, and the word was with
God, and the Word was God (John 1:1, KJV). These are foundational words from the Christian Bible,
and the Christian worldview. A posed to, Hinduism, which has no founder, yet many natives in India is

Hinduism: Origin The Hindus say that Brahma is the first god in the Hindu triumvirate, or trimurti.
The triumvirate consists of three gods who are responsible for the creation, upkeep and destruction of
the world (Who is Brahma, 2009). The origin of Hinduism is recorded as early as 1500 B.C. in India.
It is said that Hinduism is a polytheistic and ritualistic religion that requires strict meditation and
obedience.
How Did Life Begin.
Hinduism says that the Lord Brahma is creator of the universe, while the other two gods are part of the
triumvirate. The worldview of the Hindu belief is that there are multiple gods. One god, Brahma
created the universe, another, Vishnu is the sustainer of creation, and Shiva is the destroyer of life. In
contrast, Christianity worldview is there is one triune God, God the Father, God the Son, God ... Show

The Effects Of Norm Violation On The Perception Of Power
Investigation of the Effects of Norm Violation
On the Perception of Power Power governs our society. A powerful person is one that has authority
over others. This sense of authority relieves them of the restrictions a person of lesser power might
face, allowing them to make and break rules. The four studies conducted in Breaking the Rules to Rise
to Power: How Norm Violators Gain Power in the Eyes of Others by Gerben A. Van Kleef, Astrid C.
Homan, Catrin Finkenauer, Seval Gu ̈ndemir and Eftychia Stamkou, explores the concept of power
and transgression. Such that if powerful people are expected to act against the norm, then acting
against the norm should make people seem more powerful. The overall study focused on the

(Van Kleef et al., 2011)
The study examined the response of 25 females and 15 men with a mean age of 19.53 on two scales.
The first scale was a 25 question questionnaire consisting of adjectives that described social
impressions of power and norm violation, which was then rated on a scale from 1 to 7 with 1 being
definitely not and 7 being definitely. The second scale asked participants to indicate the extent to
which the power statements This person is influential ; . . . has a leadership position ; . . . is in charge
of subordinates ; . . . enjoys considerable authority (Van Kleef et al., 2011), applied to the person
depicted in the scenario.
Results and Discussions Participants rated the actor that took the cup of coffee from the personnel
with a higher norm violation score than the actor that went to the bathroom. This indicated that they
recognized that the behavior of the actor that took the coffee cup was wrong. Despite that, the
participants rated that actor to be more powerful than the actor that went to the bathroom on both
scales. This gives the first evidence that violating the norm influences the perception of power (Van
Kleef et al., 2011).
Study 2: The Bookkeeper Study 2 employed a different type of norm violation to examine if the
affects show in study 1 would repeat. One hundred and sixty nine participants of unspecified age and
sex were asked to read a scenario about a bookkeeper that follows the rule and one that does

The Vampire Lestat and the Problem of Eternal Damnation Essay
The problem or question of what it means to be damned is difficult to understand at the best of times,
it is however all the more difficult when the subject in question is a vampire. How does a vampire that
has developed God like powers and whose only way to survive is to take human life, redeem
themselves in the eyes of God? This is not really an issue for Lestat; as for the majority of the Vampire
Chronicles he believes himself to be a form of God. With every life that Lestat takes he is committing
a mortal sin, the gravest form of sin and he does so with full knowledge and consent. With reference to
Anne Rice s Vampire Chronicles and both Interview with the Vampire and Queen of the Damned
motion pictures, Lestat s journey from mortal to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By their very nature, a mortal sin cuts our relationship off from God and turns man away from his
creator. (Saintaquinas.com: 1)
If mortal sin is a grave matter, what does the bible constitute as being a grave matter? One idea to look
upon is breaking any one of the Ten Commandments, although some are not considered as grave as
others. St. Paul offers us a list of such offences, which if committed will not allow the sinner to enter
the Kingdom of God:
The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and
witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissentions, factions and envy;
drunkenness, orgies and the like. I warn you as I did before, that those who live like this will not
inherit the kingdom of God. (Galatians, 1995, 5:19 20: 824)
It would be fair to assume that almost everyone is guilty of at least one of the above sins at some point
in life; however, a being such as Lestat is on a different level of sin. Of course in between these levels
of sin there are sins, which are considered to be of a graver nature, it is obviously a graver sin to
murder than to be a drunk. From this it would be simpler to know that the latter would be considered a
venial sin and not within the same gravity of a mortal sin and therefore the sinner can be saved.
However bad a mortal sin is, according to the

whole body vibration (WBV) and a designed physical therapy program versus suspension therapy and
the same designed physical therapy intervention in balance control in children with hemiparetic CP.
Criteria for inclusion for the study were children with hemiparesis cerebral palsy from both sexes ages
8 to 10 years old, able to understand commands given to them, able to stand and walk independently
with frequent falling, and balance problems ( as confirmed by the Tilt Board Balance Test). The
exclusion criteria consisted of presence of any medical condition such as vision and hearing loss,
cardiac abnormalities, and musculoskeletal disorders. Children who met the criteria (n=30) were
recruited from the outpatient clinic, College of Physical Therapy, Cairo University The randomization
was done according to the Gross Motor Function Classification System (GMFCS). Treatment
allocations were done by the selection of a closed envelope randomly selected. Parents and children
were informed of the treatment allocation after the selection, procedures were explained to both of
them and signed assent and consent were obtained.
Participants attended sessions six (6) times per week for six (6) consecutive months. Each session

Relationship Selling And Transaction Selling
Chapter 1
Question 4: There is a difference between relationship selling and transaction selling. The book
defines relationship marketing as, The process by which a firm builds long term relationships with
customers for the purpose of creating mutual competitive advantages (Stanton 9). As learned
throughout this chapter, relationship selling is very important for success. Relationship selling allows
the salespeople to understand customers needs and wants and allows them to provide solutions. These
solutions are value added, which may be information and services as shared in the book.

Question 5: Marketing people rely on salespeople, while salespeople rely on marketing people. In
marketing management there is a lack of communication between the two departments, marketing and
sales.
As learned in the chapter, the marketing department is responsible for developing a firm s marketing
strategy. This strategy includes decisions on how to promote, distribute, and price the products
(Stanton 45). The marketing department relies on the salespeople to determine the dependability. It is
vital that the salespeople communicate the marketing strategy. If something is not selling, letting the
marketing department know will allow them to make decisions and changes to the strategy.
Also, the salespeople work first hand with the customers and should know what is and is not working
for the customer. The salespeople should collect this information from the customers

My Summer Camp
It was the last day of my summer camp, the night before my Boy Scout troop would pack all their gear
and leave the coast of the Puget Sound, and go back to the suburbia where most of the kids in the
troop lived. The last day of summer camp, at least at Camp Parsons, was the Hullabaloo. The
Hullabaloo was a great gathering of all the patrols, in a large grass covered area, bordering a beach
and then the Puget Sound. The whole area was dotted with green trees, and was overlooked by a very
large cabin like building, which acted as the meal room for all the troops at camp. The cabin like
building was a dark brown, built on the outside with logs, but on the inside a sort of insulated faux log.
The inside was very spacious and lined up along the walls were about 50 long tables for the various
troops at camp. Even in this large room, there wasn t always enough space to fit the scouts from all the
troops, so it was safe to say that my patrol had a lot of competition. All the patrols would compete for
a trophy (a carved block of wood, painted yellow and with the purple letters CP stating: FIRST
PLACE). Each troop usually has more than one patrol, each patrol being about 5 10 people, so my
troop (of about 25 people) had two. When we were all let loose from the cabin like meal house to
compete in various team building activities and compete in stations set around the camp (stations such
as fire starting, knotting, and building shelters), my patrol started sprinting over the hills and

What Is The Importance Of African Music
Spencer Rubinoff
History of Africa
12/4/17
African Music
African Music Traditionally, music has played a very important role in Africa s culture and history. If
you observe any part of the culture you can see that music is essential in representing their heritage.
Unlike most cultures today, ancient African cultures brought music into their lives every day. Music
also helps with African story telling, dance, and even religious practices. Music is especially important
for African dance because in some cultures there is not even a spoken language, they tell their stories
through songs and dance. When discussing the impact of music in Africa it is important to also
mention the power of dance as well.
In the African culture, music and dance mean so much more than just something done for a good time,
it has a much greater purpose. In the African culture, a dance is usually done by a group and usually
for a specific purpose. That being said, having a group of people means that these tribes run with
utilitarianism. The idea of Utilitarianism suggests that the value of a thing depends on its use, and not
its beauty. In many ways, African music is a utilitarian function used in vital aspects of life such as, a
child s naming ceremony (The Importance of Music in the African Culture: More Than Just a song).
This list could also include initiation rites, agricultural activities, national ceremonies, war times,
religious ceremonies and ceremonies for the dead. Indigenous tribe s

How the Western Film Genre Has Developed over the Past...
The Western film genre is typically set in a secluded village in the middle of the desert, normally in
the American West. The setting includes wooden buildings, tumble weed, cacti, trains, horses and
carriages. The storyline for western films is usually the same, namely, a hero travels to a remote
village, usually on a horse, and brings peace to the warring villagers. In a traditional Western film the
clothing for the hero is usually a white hat, (this is to show purity). The hero would also wear a
brightly coloured shirt , a pair of jeans and cowboy boots with spurs on the back of them. The hero is
also very clean and also normally tall and good looking. A traditional Western includes things like

The first film that showed early signs of a rise in the quality of technology was the Western The Great
Train Robbery. When this film first came out the audience were so amazed at the fact that they could
watch something on a TV or at the cinema. Although this film was very good for the 1900s it still
lacked some key features that make films much easier to understand such as dialogue, sound and
camera shots. The one feature of a film that developed the quickest over the period of time was sound.
Sound was introduced in October 1927 in the film The Jazz singer , which had three song numbers
and a few lines of spoken dialogue. Apart from these few songs and words, the rest of the movie was
silent, but the audience still thought that it was amazing that words had been spoken in the film, they
used to call it the movie that talked . The Western became one of the most popular film genres
between the 1930s and the 1950s because of theses advances in technology. The development of
smaller, lighter cameras freed the cameras from a tripod allowing more detailed camera work. To
show moving effects cameras could be put on platforms that were attached to rubber wheels or steel
rails like railroad tracks. The cameras could also be raised and lowered on cranes. Another thing that
made Westerns more popular was the introduction of full colour in the 1930s and widescreen in the
1950s,

The Role Of The Gods In The Aztec Civilization
Most ancient civilizations, including the Aztecs were polytheistic yet most modern religions are
monotheistic, so what caused the change from hundreds of Gods to just one. I believe that the reason
for this phenomenon can be seen in the Aztec civilization dating back to the sixth century in Mexico.
In the beginning, they worshipped dozens of Gods, but as the Spanish Conquest drew closer and the
Aztec empire began to fall, fewer and fewer Gods were worshipped. A prime example of this is two of
their Gods of agriculture, Xipe Totec and Tlaloc. While both were major Gods throughout Aztec
history, as time went on the two slowly became indistinguishable from each other until only Tlaloc
was left, and then as modern day approached, not even him

Overall, a simple, tragic piece of history that tells us a bit about what happened to the overall Aztec
belief system. Some Gods, such as their sun Gods Tonatiuh and Huitzilopochtli were worshipped in
the form of Jesus. Some survived with the Nahuas, the modern day descendants of the Aztecs. Most
were simply forgotten, the obvious reason for which being that there was no room for them in the
monotheistic Catholic religion. As to why Xipe Totec was worshipped in the years proceeding this
event, I have a theory; as all cultures spread, I believe that the version of Aztec mythology that
worshipped Xipe Totec spread to the city of Tenochtitlan, one of, if not the most studied cities by
modern historians. This in turn may have created a few decades where Tlaloc and Xipe Totec
coexisted as two important Gods. However, I feel this may have created an inaccuracy, as some
historians might assume that what happened in Tenochtitlan happened in the rest of the empire (the
worship of Xipe Totec for example); this is what I consider to be the main reason Xipe Tote is
considered to be important to the Aztecs today while he wasn t important back

Different Correlation Between States With Strict Gun Laws...
Isenstein writing for the National Journal proposes that there is a distinct correlation between states

support the claim, but again bring up the question about the variables used to define death rates from
guns. Annotations to the article imply that some outside influence caused a revision to update some
charts to only display gun related homicides and exclude suicides and accidental deaths. Sullum
critiques the study and points out a different perspective from the same data. He underscores that the
rankings can be drastically altered by focusing on homicides and not including suicides. Wyoming is
ranked for having a high suicide rate but a low homicide rate whereas the District of Columbia has a
low suicide rate but high homicide rate. (Sullum) The National Journal shows that the six states with
the lowest rates of gun related deaths in 2013 also have relatively strict gun policies when considering
the laws for purchasing and carrying handguns. Additionally, these states do not have a stand your
ground law. (Isenstein) Sullum contends that these states alone have a correlation between gun deaths
and strict gun control laws. His example of a contradiction is New

Heading into the second quarter this one looked very even, even though the Eagles offense was yet to
soar, while the Indians offense had shown a glimpse of going on the warpath a couple of times.
Just twenty six seconds into the second quarter Moore fumble the ball and scooping it up and going
about fifty six yards for the score for the Eagles was Chip Parker. Parker easily outran the offense,
who looked like a fighter, who had just been tagged by a Ali right cross. The point after kick was
missed causing this to stay a 13 7 Eagles lead.
The Indians offense would work the ball down to the Eagles thirty four yard line and from there
Chambers electrified the crowd, with a Archie Griffin like run, back when he was running for the
buckeyes. The point after kick gave the Indians the lead at 14 13, with 5:31left in the half. On the
drive the Eagles defense again had problems tackling and this really led to a lot of extra yards for the
Indians.
With 3:41 it appeared their was pass interference on the Indians receiver, but the ref said the ball was
tipped before the interference happened and this led to a interception by Moore on the pass thrown by
Ryan Venable. This play really seem to change the game and in my way of thinking the Eagles fought
hard but never overcame this call.
Defense was big again, with :27 seconds left in the half, when Moore was taken down by #54(Not on

Clams Are Great Pollution Detectors By Susan Linville
In the past, clams have been used to locate sources of pollution in bodies of water. They get their food,
as well as performing gas exchange, through the process of filter feeding (Linville). This entails taking
water inside of their shells and filtering it through their gills to trap food particles and exchange gas
(Linville). When doing this, they bring in the food particles they need to survive and have the potential
to bring in other materials such as toxic substances or pollutants (Linville). This also allows for the
clams to clean the water, improving water quality (Stanford). When the clams bring in these
substances, scientists are able to then analyze the tissue of the gills and find out which substances they
brought in. This ability ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

plants and trees to remove contaminants with their roots and is all natural, but it takes a very long time
and the various plants or trees that are introduced can have negative effects on the ecosystems

Virginia Beach City Operating Budget
Transit represents a little less than one half of one percent of the Virginia Beach city operating budget.
If light rail is built, only in its third year of operation will light rail and the associated inflation drive

community with many environmental assets. There are green areas to the south that require protection.
As the city is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean and the Chesapeake Bay these require careful
consideration for safeguarding. Virginia Beach has very little in the way of land to develop so thinking
vertically is a strategic plan the city has embraced and light rail is at the heart of its future when it
comes to a unified Norfolk/Virginia Beach Metro mass transit system.
As previous explained in the literature review of this study, those for the extension say it will spur
economic development along the designated route, help lower taxes through a wider tax base, and
create additional opportunities for transit. Those against its creation argue that light rail is an old
technology that is very expensive and will not stimulate economic development or move enough
people to validate the cost. A purposeful analysis, will examine whether light rail will improve the
quality of life for residents in Virginia Beach and if an incremental tactic in its construction is the
correct way forward. Regardless if the resort city remains a fiscally sound municipality, is the

Iago In Othello s Jealousy
Iago, in Shakespeare s Othello , is a deceiving character since he advises lies keeping in mind the end

process is, however he soon contradicts himself with another recommendation making it to a great
degree hard to understand him. Even though Iago s actual motives aren t revealed, some can say the
motives could be jealousy, seeing people suffer, or power. Iago s jealousy towards Othello quickly
transforms into a jealousy toward Cassio too because Othello selected Cassio as lieutenant rather than
Iago. Iago trusts that he ought to be lieutenant since he has battled close by in fights and because he
has genuine war involvement, while Cassio took in the majority of his strategies from books. Thus, he

Othello suspects of Desdemona and chooses to murder her. Iago s hunger for control is observed when
Cassio is designated to be Othello s lieutenant since this was, as far as anyone knows, the reason for
his retaliation. He truly needed to be lieutenant since it is a high position and with it comes a
considerable measure of power and Iago demonstrates that he would effectively get that kind of

With Netflix thriving and gaining so many new customers while still investing so much into their
streaming segment of the business, it would be expected that the company would also invest in their
physical DVD content as well. However, this was not the case. In the first two quarters of 2011,
Netflix had invested less and less, $22 million and $19 million, respectively, in their DVD content,
compared to the $32 million the company had invested in the fourth quarter of 2010.
Following the additions, or lack thereof, in their streaming and DVD content, Netflix had increased
their cost of revenues in the first two quarters by roughly 129%, when compared to their average cost
of revenues for 2010. However, with the increased customer base, resulting in increased revenue in
each quarter of $719 million and $789 million, respectively, Netflix was still able to prove its
dominance in their field by continuing to increase their net income in the first two quarters to both $60

Netflix exhibited such promise coming out of a good year in 2010 and a strong first two quarters;

the violent assault takes place. The assault gives Anton a strike, and many times in the story, he
pledges never to go back to Haarlem. For example: He shouldn t have come; he should never have
returned to Haarlem. He should have buried all that, the way one buries the dead (Mulisch 61). It can
be inferred that deep in Anton s mind, what happens at that night is the most horrible moment to him,
and such unforgettable memories remind him of never coming back. The parallel structure here shows
a complex mindset that Anton has when he hesitates to return to Haarlem. The author uses consecutive
should and shouldn t stresses this tone. The all that here probably means all the tragic events happen in
Haarlem, including both the assault and deprivation of Anton s parents. Also, the author uses an
analogy, that Anton should forget all the things in Haarlem and never think about them again, because
it is a disgraceful memory of Anton, just like someone should bury the dead to wipe away the
mournful memories. Besides, Anton swears never to go back to Haarlem even if a job offers him a
hundred thousand gulden a year. (61) This shows Anton is resolved not to go back to Haarlem. His
reluctance to return is quite logical: Haarlem is a place teeming with unjoyful memories, and a place
where his house is burnt, and his parents are lost. Who likes to return to a place where such sorrowful
recollection flows? It is the presence of his traumatic experience that haunts Anton and holds him
from going back and seeing the place again. In the aftermath of the violent assault, Anton develops a
psychological distance that makes him too sorrowful to accept the truth. The sorrow of his can be seen
when Anton meets his former neighbor, Karin. As Once more the old bitterness welled up, the
inexhaustible bitterness. Was he meant to

Chesapeake Colonies Vs New England Colonies
As stories of the New World drifted back to the old, a new start appealed to the residents of a troubled,
turbulent England. Poverty had made it difficult for many to provide for their families, forcing them to
seek their livelihood elsewhere. Displaced peasants traveled to the already overpopulated major cities
such as London, hoping to scrape by. Around the same time, King Henry VIII severed ties with the
Catholic Church, establishing the Church of England, a Catholic sect with himself at the head. This
led to confusion and dissent within England, ending in the eventual rise of the Protestant William and
Mary until the rise of Elizabeth I, when she severed ties with Rome anew. This religious confusion led
to an unstable religious climate in England, resulting in persecution of many different religions.
Social, economic and religious issues led many to look to the Americas as an opportunity to start
fresh, economically and religiously. Although the New England and the Chesapeake regions both
started as small colonies, simply hoping to get by in the New World, by the 18th century they
developed into drastically different cultures. The New England region consisted of many Puritans who
fled England seeking religious freedom, while the Chesapeake region consisted of young Englishmen
seeking wealth. Despite their similar hope for a better life in the New World, as a result of differences
in topography, economy, religious background and overall societal views, the two colonies had
developed into two distinct societies by the 1700s.
Before either the New England or Chesapeake colonies were founded, the differences in the intentions
of its founders foreshadowed the two distinct societies the colonies would become. Jamestown, the
first of the Chesapeake colonies, was founded on the premise of accumulating wealth. Settlers traveled
to the New World in hopes of economic opportunity for themselves and their investors, spending their
early days searching for gold. The gentlemen not only faced disappointment as they realized their
search for riches was a waste, but starvation as they had not allocated their resources and time to
establish their settlement and plant food. They were forced to face a new approach, focusing on

Macbeth And Hamlet Research Paper
Within 1601 1605 William Shakespeare produced, what is said to be, the four wings of his spirit in the
tragic division: Hamlet, Othello, Macbeth, and Lear. Shakespeare captures current beliefs, political
history, and cultural events in his plays. Shakespeare s tragedies, Macbeth and Hamlet, were both
written during King James I reign to symbolize the darkness and represent the insecurities of the time.
While some of the happier Shakespearean plays, Midsummer s Night Dream, were written during
Queen Elizabeth I s reign to express the happy, optimistic mood, and confidence in the people.
Although, Macbeth and Hamlet have different settings, they are similar because the plays include the
corruption of royalty, influential supernatural events, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many of the English focussed on the issue of keeping her femininity yet maintaining her rule. There
was questioning of if a woman was fit to rule England or if her gender reduced her status as queen.
There were also doubt on how she could provide an heir without relinquishing her power to her
husband. This idea is seen throughout the female characters of Macbeth and Hamlet. In Macbeth,
Lady Macbeth wants to take matter into her own hands, but states that it is inappropriate because she
is a woman. She also uses Macbeth s masculinity to persuade him to kill Duncan. When Macbeth didn
t kill the guards Lady Macbeth did; due to the guilt she later suffered from insanity and committed
suicide. A month after her first husband s death, Gertrude married Claudius, handing the kingship to
Hamlet s uncle, instead of the rightful heir. Gertrude is poisoned by her husband when he meant to kill
Hamlet. Ophelia, the daughter of a nobleman who loved Hamlet, went insane when her father was
murdered by her love. As a result of the unbearable grief she drowned herself in a brook. Lady
Macbeth says that Macbeth has had these visions, and has been like that since childhood. Gertrude
says Hamlet is crazy in love with Ophelia. Both female roles blames the males craziness on something
other than actual insanity. Each of the female characters reflect the beliefs of women in Shakespeare s
time. He expresses the belief

Speech On Population Control
Population control is at its highest demand in all of history. We have a growing population and limited
resources. Droughts, oil shortage, artificial food to keep up are just a few to name. Scientist debate
whether we will be able to civilize onto another planet in our future. While moving to a new planet is
a great idea, I think it s a better idea to control the growth of civilization and the consumption of our
resources on our own planet first. Besides, who needs seven kids in their family anyway? Why do we
need to keep people who have lost all quality of life alive, while they continue to use up resources?
We have limited resources and an over populated planet that shows no sign of slowing down. While
Deforestation has slowed down, we are still burning through our tress too fast for our planet to keep
up. We have mass agriculture growth, but our food is grown with chemicals that are being found to
create more problems than we can keep up with. We ve had several different droughts all over the
world and some places still don t even have clean water access. We seem to continue to find ways to
slow down our own destruction, but these solutions seem to only make matters worse in the long run.
We are an unstable planet that fixes one problem by creating a new one. We have too many people on
this planet that take more than the earth must offer and eventually our planet will no longer be able to
provide and we are not yet to the point where we can pick up and move on to the

Implementation Of A Proactive Management Model
If this plan meets the needs of the agency, the models implementation will be coordinated with Field
Services and managed by Health Protection and Environmental Health Directors to ensure an efficient
and well managed transition. Major tasks include restructuring tanning, home day care, food and
wastewater programs to a centralized system.
2.1 Description of Implementation
The implementation plan is an Environmental Health re structuring alternative for the Tanning, Home
Day Care, Food and Wastewater programs. This model will streamline these programs to increase
efficiency and oversight by management and supervisory staff. A proactive management model
ensures program efficiencies through setting and communicating clear expectations including
performance measures, accountability, quality of inspections, customer surveys, and training designed
to help inspection team members be successful in meeting the expectations. This model ensures
program standardizations and efficiencies by leveraging technology in the form of cellular mobile
devices that reduce burdens on agency IT infrastructure and IT staff.
The model produces increased protective measures through leveraging program expertise; more
consistent interpretation of laws, rules, regulations, and policies; off peak inspections; and focusing
inspection frequency on entities that lack system level compliance. The model also provides an added
benefit to the agency response and recovery resources. A new North, Central,

How Does The 2008 Games Affect The Economy
Economic Impact To see the impact of the 2008 Games on the Chinese economy, we must first look at
how much money was spent and what it was spent on. While $40 billion is the average number given
when saying how much the 2008 Games cost, only a little more than $6 billion went to sports related
costs, (Gaines, 2015) including $500 million going to building the Bird s Nest, the Olympic track and
field venue. The rest went to a new airport terminal, a light rail, roads and other preparations such as
security and the environmental clean up ( The cost of the Beijing Olympics ). Almost every city that
hosts the Olympics promises to use the new stadiums that are built well beyond when the Games end,
but almost none actually do. Beijing is no different. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Role Of The British Empire During The Industrial Revolution
Introduction The people of Great Britain are very proud of the nations history when it comes to
engineering and innovation. The role the British Empire played in the industrial revolution??, the
development of the steam engine?? and rail transport?? were the first few steps that changed the face
of the world (for better or worth) that we live in now. This idea fills people s hearts with pride. But
where this idea is still alive in some parts of the country, there are areas where this attitude is no
longer to be found. The birthplace of the railway has seemed to have fallen behind the rest of the
world. High speed trains that are outdated before they are even built and portion of the public resisting
even that (for all the wrong reasons). High Speed Two High Speed Two is the high speed railway that
is planned to connect London to the West Midlands in its phase 1 and later extended to Manchester

scheduled to begin construction in 2017 and phase 1 will due to be finished in 2026. Most of the rails
in the United Kingdom either dates back to Victorian times or is of the quality that it might as well
be??. These lines are limited to a speed of 200km/h and therefore it is more efficient to built new lines
for high speed rails. High Speed Rail has been around in one form or another since the 1960s (in other
countries that is). Today, an operating speed of at least 250km/h is required for anything

Manta Rays Research Paper
have been used when the manta was smaller and would need to defend itself against predators. As the
mantas became larger in the open ocean, they no longer needed to defend themselves with the sting.
Today, mantas have a cartilage stump as a tail where the sting would be connected to. Like all animals,
mantas have several predators. Sharks, as well as false killer whales and orcas have been known to eat
manta rays. Shark bites are seen in all populations of manta rays, but these bites are quite often taken
from the edges of the manta s wings, which heal quickly and do not leave the manta with long lasting
wounds. In addition to predators, manta rays also face large threats from humans. Fishing lines can
trap manta rays, which leave the mantas

  • 2. The Wasps Analysis The Wasps is a satirical comedy written in 422 BCE by Aristophanes as the Peloponnesian War was coming to an end. The playwright s purpose for writing this is to mock the Athenian society at the time. Because Athens also became a democracy during the 5th century, this comedy is particularly controversial since during the time it was written, the courts were being severely manipulated and corrupted by Cleon. In addition to this, there various other conflicts that take place during the time that this was written. The plot centers around the protagonist Philocleon and his antagonist Misocleon and uses the popular Athenian democratic ideology to point out its very own flaws. The playwright criticizes both the judicial conflicts, which is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In relation to the metaphor of wasps, the text refers to the house as being netted. It seems that there is only one door in the home giving it a sense of a dungeon like dwelling. Misocleon sleeps on the roof and is presumably guarding it in the instance that his father tries to escape from there rather than the door he is aware of being blocked off. The well intentioned Misocleon, tries to deter his father from his usual routine of going to the courts to sit on the jury for less than a livable wage. Although his plan is doomed to fail, he still attempts to save his father from his job as a wage slave who has unknowingly pledged his allegiance to Cleon, the demagogue. Although Philocleon does escape from his son s poorly thought out trap, Misocleon does not accept defeat but rather attempts to reason with his father. The father s willingness to at least debate the issue shows that he is a fair man and is willing to hear what others have to say. Based on their discussion, the reader can see an obvious gap in generational understanding of the litigious Athenian democracy. Philocleon is illusioned by his petty wages and is obsessed with the praise of others and the benefit that come along with his position such as the affection of his own daughter (600 5). However, Misocleon fires back at his partisan father explaining that when he takes into account all of the taxes, then the income that he is so prided in, is nothing but 1/10th of what the city makes. • 3. Evolution vs Intelligent Design Essay The suggested separation between church and state in contemporary America is not what the framers of our constitution and our country had in mind as they wrote the words Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof. After deconstructing the words, the most insignificant adjective an, tells us that the framers wanted to restrain Congress from installing any one religion as the official religion of the state. Those immortal words say nothing about religion informing congress or society on policy, education, or progress. Darwinian evolution is the theory that life after appearance and over time endured mutation and adaptation through natural selection to eventually yield modern man from the same source, a single cell. ID is the theory that life exists in its present forms as the product of a purposeful design. Both theories use natural science to support their ideological conclusions such as embryology, genetics, and biochemistry. A key to these theories being comparable is that they both suggest that a preexisting being sparked life on Earth. Within evolution this point is highly debated and denied by many, however the father of evolution, Charles Darwin, expressed in the Origin of Species his belief that the first cell received its spark of life by the Creator. (Darwin 1900, 316) This will soon be important as a reason why evolution should not be taught in public education at all if you believe that the first amendment means a separation between church and state as evolution at its roots tells us that God created life on earth. ID at its roots also asserts that an entity also lit the initial sparks of life on earth. A core difference between the premises of these two theories is found in their assertions of the identity of this being and will be analyzed next. In contrast, these theories are substantially different. Darwinian evolution assumes that after the emergence of the first living cell eons passed as that cell self replicated and began the ... • 4. Shortcomings Of Social Media Communication is an integral aspect in organizational success. The efficiency of both the internal and the external communication determine the success of a given organization. As such, use of the most effective means of communication is fundamental to the success of organizations (Benson, 2016). In this excerpt, an examination of the benefits and shortcomings of using social media as well as having kick off meetings will be analyzed. Think of a time that social media was used on a project. Describe what was used and the purpose of communication (inform, persuade, motivate, interact, inspire). What were the benefits and challenges of using that social media? Citing a case in context, our organization aimed at motivating people to participate in a corporate social responsibility (CSR) program. The members of the workforce were to attend a tree planting event. However, much of the members were opposed to the idea as they preferred attending a team building retreat. Therefore, the communication department was charged with the duty of motivating the members to develop a positive attitude towards the corporate social responsibility (CSR) event. Therefore, the communication team consistently posted positive effects of participating in CSR. In this undertaking, the posts were made emotional hence touching the players by both benefits and shortcomings of using the social media were manifested. Reflecting on Industry Futures That Will Affect Print Media Reflecting on Industry Futures that will Affect Print Media Executive Summary The commercial printing industry, once the dominant communication medium of the United States has been changing constantly for the last 65 years. Since the end of the Second World War, the commercial printing industry has lost market share for a number of reasons. Unimagined technological advances brought continuous innovations, new media challenges, a changing culture and increased domestic and foreign competition. The result of these changes is an industry that s been forever altered and is facing an uncertain future. Changes in Technology he job of putting ink on paper was once the domain of highly skilled individuals possessing a broad base of knowledge that covered all aspects of the print production process. Job functions were complex and the technology of printing required a craftsman s knowledge of the processes and materials in order to produce quality printed materials. All of that changed at the end of WWII. As profit margins began to shrink, printing businesses began heavily investing in new processes and technology. (Wallace Kalleberg, 1982) Over the next 60 years, developments in offset printing, electronic prepress and laser technology continuously shortened the print production cycle and increased production capacity. The introduction of the Xerox copier made the ability to produce a printed page available to anyone. The use of computers altered the workflow. Word ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A Randomized Control Trial, Usher, Alcock, And Petra In a randomized control trial by Smith, Usher, Alcock, and Petra (2013), the researchers aim to determine whether the use of NeoWrap, a polyethylene occlusive wrap, immediately after birth was more effective than standard protocol to control hypothermia in NICU admissions. Participants consist of 92 infants under 27 weeks of gestation and 44 infants less than 30 weeks gestation. The infants are randomly assigned to be in either the control or the intervention group; the control group is transferred under the prewarmed heater immediately after birth, dried and wrapped with prewarmed towels, and applied a hat. The intervention group is wrapped from the neck the down with the polyethylene wrap before being transferred to the prewarmed heater and undergoing the aforementioned process. World Health Organization s definition for hypothermia, as cited by Smith et al. (2013), is a temperature of less than 36.5 degrees Celsius. This parameter was used by the researchers, and the temperatures of the infants were taken upon birth and upon NICU admissions as well as admission time for both the control and intervention groups. The temperature was taken axillary on the infant at birth, upon admission to the NICU and every 30 minutes using a digital thermometer until the infant reached 120 minutes postadmission. The results showed that although the usage of wrap increased the temperature in neonates less than 27 weeks old, no statistically significant difference on neonates 27 to 29 ... These restoration were needed because of dissolution and decay. During the 19th century declining population and church attendance in the city intersected with growing appreciation of the buildings . Because of that Bishop Tait enforced the Union of Benefices Act of 1860 which lead to the demolition of 16 city churches. Around that time St.Nicholas Cole Abbey was disturbed during the laying of the London Underground and St.Bride s Fleet Street was struck by lightening and needed some restoration. • 9. Review Of The Trail Of Tears The Trail of Tears was a challenge since it was both a dramatic change (by losing each tribe s traditional land, plants, and animals, as well as their horses being confiscated or killed [to prevent escape] and their cattle being seized in order to discourage the temptation of absconding to live independently) and a traumatic exploit (many tribes lost over half of their population). I picked this topic because I have always wondered what exactly happened during this trek, how far they travelled (where they came from and where they ended up), and how they were treated. The Indians, numbering about 16,000, were forced off their lands when Georgia citizens and the president of the US ignored the decision from Worcester v. Georgia. Almost 4,000 Indians died on the trail (including those victims who died in the stockades awaiting forced transportation), in order to empty their tribal lands and make them available for new white settlers. ... We started off with testing 25cm³ of 3 molar hydrochloric acid to 2g of calcium carbonate medium size chips (we decided a medium size chips before we started our pre test as we had a choice of 3, small, medium, large). We saw that this reacted too quickly as we used 10 second intervals and we couldn t get 6 results this is because our burette could only hold 100cm³ of water, which would make our results reliable. We then decreased the amount of Calcium Carbonate to 1g and kept the same 25cm³ of 3 molar hydrochloric acid and 10 second intervals. We could get the right amount of results of this, so we then tested the other extreme the lowest molarity. We tested both the highest and lowest molar, as the molars in between would work and give us sufficient results if these two worked. We took the 25cm³ of 0.5 molar hydrochloric acid and our 1g of calcium carbonate. This also worked. This meant from our pre test that we would use 25cm³ of the solution, 1g of Calcium Carbonate and have 10 seconds interval between each reading. We ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. My Original Definition Of Social Media Essay 1. My original definition for antisemitism was: antisemitism is the conscience or unconscious hatred of a Jew or Jews, because of certain characteristics that the hater believes the Jew or all Jews possess by being Jewish. However, one thing that my original definition does not hint towards the wide spectrum of behaviors that are antisemitic. This is an advantage that your definition has. Your definition mentions a spectrum form mildest expressions to exterminatory activities. Your definition goes on to list different examples of antisemitic behavior. One category of behavior is not mentioned though, and that is the use of social media to do such things as cyber bullying. We talked some during the course about social media, especially at the end of the course when we discussed the six parentheses symbol. Perhaps a better definition of antisemitism could come about by combining our two definitions and making mention of social media. The new definition could be: antisemitism is defined as the conscience or unconscious hatred of Jews or Judaism from its mildest expressions to exterminatory activates. The activists include making jokes, cyberbullying, the destruction of religious objects, defacing synagogues, and murdering Jewish people. This new definition considers actions despite weather or not the hater is aware of them. For example, a person could have always been told that Jews are greedy. Here are some of things that make Buddhism and Hinduism similar, both believe in reincarnation and practice different kinds of yoga. Another thing that is common between the two is that Ashoka Gautama was a Hindu and he is the founder of Buddhism and his religion still incorporates some of the practices that are from Hinduism. Hare Krishna is a movement that was founded in the U.S. in recent times and they focus their belief on Krishna. The founder of this movement was A.C. Bhaktivedanta and he was told to bring the teachings he learned to the west to spread the word and spark interest to join this movement. He was also known for saying he performed miracles just like the god Krishna did, but there was a lot of speculation that he didn t. Mark also tells the events in more of a chronological order than the other gospels. Skipping the story of Jesus miraculous birth, the gospel of Mark begins with verse one proclaiming that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, then continues straight to John the Baptist preaching and preparing the people for the coming of the Messiah. Only nine verses into the opening chapter, Jesus enters the scene. He is coming to be baptized by John. After coming up out of the water, the heavens are opened. In Mark 1:11, God speaks from heaven saying, this is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Here we learn from the Father himself that Jesus of Nazareth is truly the Son of God. Jesus soon goes on to call his disciples and begins teaching with authority. People quickly hear about Jesus message, his miracles, and who he claims to be. In Mark 1:23, Jesus confronts a man with an unclean spirit. Mark 1:24 says, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? The grandmother s use of the word ought should give you an idea that she is southern because if this story took place up north she would have said something like you should . • 20. Government Intervention And The Internet Government Intervention in the Internet A growing concern over our privacy online is causing us to seek legislation to protect us. Although this may seem harmless and beneficial for all, there are many valid points as to why the government should not intervene. When it comes to privacy online, the responsibility should be left in the hands of the people that disclose such information in the first place. Government involvement should not be allowed for the sake of our privacy, because it may come at the cost of being censored, losing technical expertise, losing innovation, and DE unifying the internet. Despite all this, many still argue in favor of government intervention. • 21. Symptoms And Treatment Of Pompe s Disease Background Pompe s disease is a glycogen storage disease caused by mutation in a gene coding for the acid 1 4 alpha glucosidase (GAA), the key enzyme in glycogenolysis within lysosomes. GAA deficiency results in accumulation of glycogen and successive enlargement of lysosomes. As the lysosomes enlarge, there is also accumulation of other related byproducts, overtaking the space regularly occupied by myofibrils and impeding their function (Lewandowska E et al., 2008). Individuals with a complete loss of GAA activity usually do not live past the age of 2, usually dying from heart failure (Hesselink RP et al., 2003)(Sun B et al., 2015). When the lysosomes are failing they begin to swell; the proton pumps are unable to properly maintain the pH gradient to process and phagacytize cell products, causing the accumulation of lipofuscin in skeletal muscle (Hesselink RP et al., 2003). These lipofuscin inclusions in individuals with Pompe s disease prevent muscle from functioning properly (Feeney et al., 2014) Rapamycin, also known as sirolimus, is an inhibitor of mTORC1 in the pathway for glycogen synthesis (Phyu SM et al., 2016). Rapamycin is currently used as a treatment for many different medical conditions but has been shown to reduce glycogen content in GSD III and reduce oxidative stress. It is a small molecule drug with more specific purpose (Sun, B et al., 2015) as opposed to enzyme replacement therapy, the commonly used treatment for GSD II which mostly treats the large scale cardiac problems associated with full loss of GAA. Discussion of Specific Published Data Data shows that large deposits of lipofuscin are visible using fluorescent immunostaining in biopsies of skeletal muscle (Feeney et al., 2014) Figure 1. A powerful person is one that has authority over others. This sense of authority relieves them of the restrictions a person of lesser power might face, allowing them to make and break rules. The four studies conducted in Breaking the Rules to Rise to Power: How Norm Violators Gain Power in the Eyes of Others by Gerben A. Van Kleef, Astrid C. Homan, Catrin Finkenauer, Seval Gu ̈ndemir and Eftychia Stamkou, explores the concept of power and transgression. The second scale asked participants to indicate the extent to which the power statements This person is influential ; . . . has a leadership position ; . . . is in charge of subordinates ; . . . enjoys considerable authority (Van Kleef et al., 2011), applied to the person depicted in the scenario. Results and Discussions Participants rated the actor that took the cup of coffee from the personnel with a higher norm violation score than the actor that went to the bathroom. This indicated that they recognized that the behavior of the actor that took the coffee cup was wrong. Despite that, the participants rated that actor to be more powerful than the actor that went to the bathroom on both scales. This gives the first evidence that violating the norm influences the perception of power (Van Kleef et al., 2011). The Vampire Lestat and the Problem of Eternal Damnation Essay The problem or question of what it means to be damned is difficult to understand at the best of times, it is however all the more difficult when the subject in question is a vampire. How does a vampire that has developed God like powers and whose only way to survive is to take human life, redeem themselves in the eyes of God? This is not really an issue for Lestat; as for the majority of the Vampire Chronicles he believes himself to be a form of God. With every life that Lestat takes he is committing a mortal sin, the gravest form of sin and he does so with full knowledge and consent. (Saintaquinas.com: 1) If mortal sin is a grave matter, what does the bible constitute as being a grave matter? One idea to look upon is breaking any one of the Ten Commandments, although some are not considered as grave as others. St. Paul offers us a list of such offences, which if committed will not allow the sinner to enter the Kingdom of God: The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissentions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies and the like. I warn you as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. (Galatians, 1995, 5:19 20: 824) It would be fair to assume that almost everyone is guilty of at least one of the above sins at some point in life; however, a being such as Lestat is on a different level of sin. Of course in between these levels of sin there are sins, which are considered to be of a graver nature, it is obviously a graver sin to murder than to be a drunk. From this it would be simpler to know that the latter would be considered a venial sin and not within the same gravity of a mortal sin and therefore the sinner can be saved. My Summer Camp It was the last day of my summer camp, the night before my Boy Scout troop would pack all their gear and leave the coast of the Puget Sound, and go back to the suburbia where most of the kids in the troop lived. The last day of summer camp, at least at Camp Parsons, was the Hullabaloo. The Hullabaloo was a great gathering of all the patrols, in a large grass covered area, bordering a beach and then the Puget Sound. The whole area was dotted with green trees, and was overlooked by a very large cabin like building, which acted as the meal room for all the troops at camp. The cabin like building was a dark brown, built on the outside with logs, but on the inside a sort of insulated faux log. The inside was very spacious and lined up along the walls were about 50 long tables for the various troops at camp. Even in this large room, there wasn t always enough space to fit the scouts from all the troops, so it was safe to say that my patrol had a lot of competition. All the patrols would compete for a trophy (a carved block of wood, painted yellow and with the purple letters CP stating: FIRST PLACE). Each troop usually has more than one patrol, each patrol being about 5 10 people, so my troop (of about 25 people) had two. • 28. What Is The Importance Of African Music Spencer Rubinoff History of Africa 12/4/17 African Music African Music Traditionally, music has played a very important role in Africa s culture and history. If you observe any part of the culture you can see that music is essential in representing their heritage. Unlike most cultures today, ancient African cultures brought music into their lives every day. Music also helps with African story telling, dance, and even religious practices. Music is especially important for African dance because in some cultures there is not even a spoken language, they tell their stories through songs and dance. When discussing the impact of music in Africa it is important to also mention the power of dance as well. In the African culture, music and dance mean so much more than just something done for a good time, it has a much greater purpose. In the African culture, a dance is usually done by a group and usually for a specific purpose. That being said, having a group of people means that these tribes run with utilitarianism. The idea of Utilitarianism suggests that the value of a thing depends on its use, and not its beauty. In many ways, African music is a utilitarian function used in vital aspects of life such as, a child s naming ceremony (The Importance of Music in the African Culture: More Than Just a song). When this film first came out the audience were so amazed at the fact that they could watch something on a TV or at the cinema. Although this film was very good for the 1900s it still lacked some key features that make films much easier to understand such as dialogue, sound and camera shots. The one feature of a film that developed the quickest over the period of time was sound. Sound was introduced in October 1927 in the film The Jazz singer , which had three song numbers and a few lines of spoken dialogue. Apart from these few songs and words, the rest of the movie was silent, but the audience still thought that it was amazing that words had been spoken in the film, they used to call it the movie that talked . The Western became one of the most popular film genres between the 1930s and the 1950s because of theses advances in technology. The development of smaller, lighter cameras freed the cameras from a tripod allowing more detailed camera work. To show moving effects cameras could be put on platforms that were attached to rubber wheels or steel rails like railroad tracks. The cameras could also be raised and lowered on cranes. I believe that the reason for this phenomenon can be seen in the Aztec civilization dating back to the sixth century in Mexico. In the beginning, they worshipped dozens of Gods, but as the Spanish Conquest drew closer and the Aztec empire began to fall, fewer and fewer Gods were worshipped. A prime example of this is two of their Gods of agriculture, Xipe Totec and Tlaloc. Some Gods, such as their sun Gods Tonatiuh and Huitzilopochtli were worshipped in the form of Jesus. Some survived with the Nahuas, the modern day descendants of the Aztecs. Most were simply forgotten, the obvious reason for which being that there was no room for them in the monotheistic Catholic religion. As to why Xipe Totec was worshipped in the years proceeding this event, I have a theory; as all cultures spread, I believe that the version of Aztec mythology that worshipped Xipe Totec spread to the city of Tenochtitlan, one of, if not the most studied cities by modern historians. This in turn may have created a few decades where Tlaloc and Xipe Totec coexisted as two important Gods. However, I feel this may have created an inaccuracy, as some historians might assume that what happened in Tenochtitlan happened in the rest of the empire (the worship of Xipe Totec for example); this is what I consider to be the main reason Xipe Tote is considered to be important to the Aztecs today while he wasn t important back ... Annotations to the article imply that some outside influence caused a revision to update some charts to only display gun related homicides and exclude suicides and accidental deaths. Sullum critiques the study and points out a different perspective from the same data. He underscores that the rankings can be drastically altered by focusing on homicides and not including suicides. Wyoming is ranked for having a high suicide rate but a low homicide rate whereas the District of Columbia has a low suicide rate but high homicide rate. (Sullum) The National Journal shows that the six states with the lowest rates of gun related deaths in 2013 also have relatively strict gun policies when considering the laws for purchasing and carrying handguns. Additionally, these states do not have a stand your ground law. (Isenstein) Sullum contends that these states alone have a correlation between gun deaths and strict gun control laws. They get their food, as well as performing gas exchange, through the process of filter feeding (Linville). When doing this, they bring in the food particles they need to survive and have the potential to bring in other materials such as toxic substances or pollutants (Linville). This also allows for the clams to clean the water, improving water quality (Stanford). • 38. Summary OfThe Assault By Harry Mulisch In The Assault , the author, Harry Mulisch, depicts Anton Steenwijk as the protagonist, who witnesses the violence at the night of the assault. In the subsequent years, Anton distances himself from the truth of the assault due to his traumatic experience, his incomplete knowledge towards the event, and his sorrowful memories. The traumatic experience makes Anton reluctant to go back to Haarlem, where the violent assault takes place. The assault gives Anton a strike, and many times in the story, he pledges never to go back to Haarlem. For example: He shouldn t have come; he should never have returned to Haarlem. He should have buried all that, the way one buries the dead (Mulisch 61). It can be inferred that deep in Anton s mind, what happens at that night is the most horrible moment to him, and such unforgettable memories remind him of never coming back. The parallel structure here shows a complex mindset that Anton has when he hesitates to return to Haarlem. The author uses consecutive should and shouldn t stresses this tone. The all that here probably means all the tragic events happen in Haarlem, including both the assault and deprivation of Anton s parents. Also, the author uses an analogy, that Anton should forget all the things in Haarlem and never think about them again, because it is a disgraceful memory of Anton, just like someone should bury the dead to wipe away the mournful memories. Besides, Anton swears never to go back to Haarlem even if a job offers him a hundred thousand gulden a year. (61) This shows Anton is resolved not to go back to Haarlem. His reluctance to return is quite logical: Haarlem is a place teeming with unjoyful memories, and a place where his house is burnt, and his parents are lost. Who likes to return to a place where such sorrowful recollection flows? It is the presence of his traumatic experience that haunts Anton and holds him from going back and seeing the place again. In the aftermath of the violent assault, Anton develops a psychological distance that makes him too sorrowful to accept the truth. The sorrow of his can be seen when Anton meets his former neighbor, Karin. As Once more the old bitterness welled up, the inexhaustible bitterness. Was he meant to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. Chesapeake Colonies Vs New England Colonies As stories of the New World drifted back to the old, a new start appealed to the residents of a troubled, turbulent England. Poverty had made it difficult for many to provide for their families, forcing them to seek their livelihood elsewhere. Displaced peasants traveled to the already overpopulated major cities such as London, hoping to scrape by. Around the same time, King Henry VIII severed ties with the Catholic Church, establishing the Church of England, a Catholic sect with himself at the head. This led to confusion and dissent within England, ending in the eventual rise of the Protestant William and Mary until the rise of Elizabeth I, when she severed ties with Rome anew. This religious confusion led to an unstable religious climate in England, resulting in persecution of many different religions. Social, economic and religious issues led many to look to the Americas as an opportunity to start fresh, economically and religiously. Although the New England and the Chesapeake regions both started as small colonies, simply hoping to get by in the New World, by the 18th century they developed into drastically different cultures. The New England region consisted of many Puritans who fled England seeking religious freedom, while the Chesapeake region consisted of young Englishmen seeking wealth. Despite their similar hope for a better life in the New World, as a result of differences in topography, economy, religious background and overall societal views, the two colonies had developed into two distinct societies by the 1700s. Before either the New England or Chesapeake colonies were founded, the differences in the intentions of its founders foreshadowed the two distinct societies the colonies would become. Jamestown, the first of the Chesapeake colonies, was founded on the premise of accumulating wealth. Settlers traveled to the New World in hopes of economic opportunity for themselves and their investors, spending their early days searching for gold. The gentlemen not only faced disappointment as they realized their search for riches was a waste, but starvation as they had not allocated their resources and time to establish their settlement and plant food. They were forced to face a new approach, focusing on ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. Macbeth And Hamlet Research Paper Within 1601 1605 William Shakespeare produced, what is said to be, the four wings of his spirit in the tragic division: Hamlet, Othello, Macbeth, and Lear. Shakespeare captures current beliefs, political history, and cultural events in his plays. Shakespeare s tragedies, Macbeth and Hamlet, were both written during King James I reign to symbolize the darkness and represent the insecurities of the time. While some of the happier Shakespearean plays, Midsummer s Night Dream, were written during Queen Elizabeth I s reign to express the happy, optimistic mood, and confidence in the people. Although, Macbeth and Hamlet have different settings, they are similar because the plays include the corruption of royalty, influential supernatural events, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Many of the English focussed on the issue of keeping her femininity yet maintaining her rule. There was questioning of if a woman was fit to rule England or if her gender reduced her status as queen. There were also doubt on how she could provide an heir without relinquishing her power to her husband. This idea is seen throughout the female characters of Macbeth and Hamlet. In Macbeth, Lady Macbeth wants to take matter into her own hands, but states that it is inappropriate because she is a woman. She also uses Macbeth s masculinity to persuade him to kill Duncan. When Macbeth didn t kill the guards Lady Macbeth did; due to the guilt she later suffered from insanity and committed suicide. A month after her first husband s death, Gertrude married Claudius, handing the kingship to Hamlet s uncle, instead of the rightful heir. Gertrude is poisoned by her husband when he meant to kill Hamlet. Ophelia, the daughter of a nobleman who loved Hamlet, went insane when her father was murdered by her love. As a result of the unbearable grief she drowned herself in a brook. Lady Macbeth says that Macbeth has had these visions, and has been like that since childhood. Gertrude says Hamlet is crazy in love with Ophelia. Both female roles blames the males craziness on something other than actual insanity. Each of the female characters reflect the beliefs of women in Shakespeare s time. He expresses the belief ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 41. Speech On Population Control Population control is at its highest demand in all of history. We have a growing population and limited resources. Droughts, oil shortage, artificial food to keep up are just a few to name. Scientist debate whether we will be able to civilize onto another planet in our future. While moving to a new planet is a great idea, I think it s a better idea to control the growth of civilization and the consumption of our resources on our own planet first. Besides, who needs seven kids in their family anyway? Why do we need to keep people who have lost all quality of life alive, while they continue to use up resources? We have limited resources and an over populated planet that shows no sign of slowing down. While Deforestation has slowed down, we are still burning through our tress too fast for our planet to keep up. We have mass agriculture growth, but our food is grown with chemicals that are being found to create more problems than we can keep up with. We ve had several different droughts all over the world and some places still don t even have clean water access. We seem to continue to find ways to slow down our own destruction, but these solutions seem to only make matters worse in the long run. We are an unstable planet that fixes one problem by creating a new one. We have too many people on this planet that take more than the earth must offer and eventually our planet will no longer be able to provide and we are not yet to the point where we can pick up and move on to the ... Implementation Of A Proactive Management Model If this plan meets the needs of the agency, the models implementation will be coordinated with Field Services and managed by Health Protection and Environmental Health Directors to ensure an efficient and well managed transition. Major tasks include restructuring tanning, home day care, food and wastewater programs to a centralized system. 2.1 Description of Implementation The implementation plan is an Environmental Health re structuring alternative for the Tanning, Home Day Care, Food and Wastewater programs. This model will streamline these programs to increase efficiency and oversight by management and supervisory staff. A proactive management model ensures program efficiencies through setting and communicating clear expectations including performance measures, accountability, quality of inspections, customer surveys, and training designed to help inspection team members be successful in meeting the expectations. This model ensures program standardizations and efficiencies by leveraging technology in the form of cellular mobile devices that reduce burdens on agency IT infrastructure and IT staff. The model produces increased protective measures through leveraging program expertise; more consistent interpretation of laws, rules, regulations, and policies; off peak inspections; and focusing inspection frequency on entities that lack system level compliance. The model also provides an added benefit to the agency response and recovery resources. A new North, Central, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. How Does The 2008 Games Affect The Economy Economic Impact To see the impact of the 2008 Games on the Chinese economy, we must first look at how much money was spent and what it was spent on. While $40 billion is the average number given when saying how much the 2008 Games cost, only a little more than $6 billion went to sports related costs, (Gaines, 2015) including $500 million going to building the Bird s Nest, the Olympic track and field venue. The rest went to a new airport terminal, a light rail, roads and other preparations such as security and the environmental clean up ( The cost of the Beijing Olympics ). • 45. Manta Rays Research Paper have been used when the manta was smaller and would need to defend itself against predators. As the mantas became larger in the open ocean, they no longer needed to defend themselves with the sting. Today, mantas have a cartilage stump as a tail where the sting would be connected to. Like all animals, mantas have several predators. Sharks, as well as false killer whales and orcas have been known to eat manta rays. Shark bites are seen in all populations of manta rays, but these bites are quite often taken from the edges of the manta s wings, which heal quickly and do not leave the manta with long lasting wounds. In addition to predators, manta rays also face large threats from humans. Fishing lines can trap manta rays, which leave the mantas ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
