We have made significant progress from our preliminary task to the final film product. Our film now demonstrates better editing, camerawork, and other technical skills that were new to us for the preliminary task. We learned from mistakes in the preliminary like poor sound quality and camera positioning that only showed actors with no other angles. For the final film, we added relevant sound effects, soundtrack, and different camera angles and movements. Our editing skills also improved greatly from simply matching actions to integrating multiple camera shots and scenes. Our research and planning abilities increased as well, as shown by our detailed animatic storyboard.
Question 2 representing social groups
Ben, the main character, is portrayed as a normal 17-year-old teenager to represent and appeal to younger audiences. He is working class, dressed casually in jeans and a jumper to show that the events of the film could happen to anyone. The second character, the unnamed murderer, is also 17 years old and dressed casually to show that anyone can be a threat and raise awareness of younger threats. The film aims to represent younger people fully and break the stereotype that horrors usually target adults.
Shot list – inscium

Opie self portrait evaluation
- 1. Opie Self-Portrait 1. I used a number of tools on Photoshop to complete my Opie self -portrait to the highest standard. The first tool I used was the magnetic lasso tool, which allowed me to outline certain features (hair, face etc.) in great detail to colour them. This feature was one of the most important to complete an Opie self-portrait; as it would be very difficult to outline individual parts of my face without it. The next tool I had to use was the colour picker tool. This was exactly what it sounds like; a tool which allows you to pick the exact colour of something that is already on the screen. This made it possible for me to choose the correct colour for the different parts of my Opie self-portrait ready for the next tool I used, the paint bucket tool. After I used the magnetic lasso tool to select the part of the picture and the colour picker to select the correct colour, the paint bucket tool was used to fill the certain part of the portrait with the colour I had chosen, making it another crucial tool when making an Opie self-portrait. It also allows you to fill whatever quantity of the part you want, as you simply have to click more to fill more. This was a very simple and easy-to-use tool which was also an important part of the task. The final tool I used was the text tool. This wasn’t necessary to complete the task, I just used it to personalise it slightly, writing ‘SAFC’ on the background behind me. The text tool allowed me to pick a font and the size of the text, as well as the colour and placement of said text on the picture. 2. I didn’t really find anything about the Opie self-portrait particularly difficult, as everything was straightforward when making it. However, I did make a slight mistake when using the magnetic lasso tool, as I had the wrong layer selected when trying to draw around my hair. I soon realised my mistake and selected the right layer, after which I completed the portrait without any further difficulties. 3. I feel I was successful enough in completing the given brief as every thing I had to do was completed in the allocated time. Every part of the picture was covered in colour, and I even had time to personalise the self -portrait even more by adding ‘SAFC’ to the background, as mentioned earlier. There are a few improvements that could be made to my self-portrait
- 2. though. For instance, there was times where I cut corners to save time when using the lasso tool on things like my hair. To improve next time I’d have to be more detailed, making sure to include every detail. I also could have maybe made the portrait more detailed by adding things such as creases on clothes shadow on the face, but as I was running out of time by the end I decided against it.
