Assignment Questions On Recruiting, Screening, And...
Workbook Questions #1 Initial Stage
P.13 #2. How would you go about recruiting, screening, and selecting members for one of your
groups?
In accordance with The Association for Specialists in Group Work (ASGW) the Best Practice
Guidelines, I want to make direct contact with my population. Therefore, I would create flyers that
accurately advertise and describe the group purpose in resource centers that cater to gay men. Such
resources would include; HIV/AIDS clinics such as the Orlando Immunology Center, The Center for
the LGBTQ community, Hope and Help, and other professionals that work closely with the LGBTQ
community. Professionals, such as counselors, doctors, and social workers can distribute the printed
information about my group ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These issues and goals would be discussed with each potential member by each of the two counselors
during an interview process in a private office. Consequently, the counselors would explain
confidentiality and the group policies at this time. Because of the stigma around HIV/AIDS, the
potential members would be asked if they are willing to sign a contract stating that they would not talk
about other members outside of the group or identify other members as being part of the group to the
public.
Member selection would consist partly of the counselor s instinct of who would fit the dynamics
needed to help the group grow and change. However, I want group members who want to feel better
about their diagnosis and willing to work in and outside the group. Members who have come to the
interview process prepared to talk about feelings and goals are highly considered (psychologically
minded). Our group is looking for members who want a Positive Outlook about their diagnosis, while
understanding that some may not be in the frame of mind to think positively yet. Difficult members
will not automatically be dismissed because they may need the most help with coping with their
disease.
For this group, the potential member should be in one of the first three stages of change. Therefore,
some of my questions would be to establish what stage of change the client is in and the commitment
level to reaching change.

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Prokaryotes
All living organisms on Earth are classified within three domains Archaea, Bacteria, and Eukarya.
Bacteria and Archaea encompass a generalised classification known as the prokaryotes. This definition
follows the extensive similarities between the two domains, such as their manner of gene expression,
their fundamental metabolic pathways, as well as their lack of membrane bound organelles, and
compartmentalisation. Due to the cellular compartmentalisation that eukaryotes exhibit, as well as
more complex modes of metabolism and replication, prokaryotes are generally considered to be the
precursors to eukaryotic cells. One of the other defining characteristics of eukaryotic cells that allow
for multicellularity to occur is the presence of a complex ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is therefore suggested that MreB and actin originated from a common ancestor, as so, further
suggests that actin was a result of MreB divergence in eukaryotes. Bacterial MreB functions in
maintaining the shape of the bacterial cell, whereby MreB assembles into filaments which display an
extensive structural resemblance to actin. The divergence of MreB in eukaryotic cells is seen to be
similar to the divergence of FtsZ to tubulin, where MreB acquired new functions as eukaryotes
evolved. These new functions included the ability to perform cell division specific to eukaryotic cells,
cell movement through pseudopodia, and phagocytosis. Phagocytosis is postulated to have been a
central step in the success of eukaryotic evolution, as the ability to engulf other organisms such as
bacteria and archaea led to eukaryotes becoming predators. The ability to perform predation
contributed heavily to the survival of the eukaryotic line, as it reduced competition. Phagocytosis also
allowed for the engulfment of cyanobacteria and other bacteria which contributed to endosymbiosis,
further increasing the complexity of eukaryotic cells. In order to perform phagocytosis, eukaryotic
cells would have had to remove their inflexible cell wall, a remnant of their prokaryotic ancestors. The
remaining plasma membrane would have allowed for increased flexibility and the ability to project
towards the prey,

The National Alliance For End Homelessness Essay
One of the simplest pieces of knowledge we acquire in elementary school (for future growth and
development) are the three basic needs a living organism requires for living: food, water, and shelter.
However, not everyone has access to all of these essentials. Homeless people are faced with awful
conditions and suffer more due to poor weather conditions, diseases, and lack of safety. There hasn t
been much progress on this issue, and if this continues, the number of homeless people will only
increase. In a few states the topic is being named as a statewide emergency , but unfortunately this
problem is national. Instead of focusing on state programs, local programs and non profit
organizations to fix the housing issue, we must all contribute to ending this epidemic. The National
Alliance to End Homelessness (NAEH) released an article stating, In January 2015, 564,708 people
were homeless on a given night in the United States (Snapshot of Homelessness). We must develop a
solution to end long term homelessness immediately. The best way of solving this issue is to provide
stable long term housing, which is a term used to describe the home s environment and financial
status.
The most logical solution for homelessness is a project known as Housing First. The Housing First
program was first launched by Tanya Tull, an individual with first hand experience of poverty and
advocate for homelessness, due to an increasing number of homeless people in the 1990s.

Dubai Aviation And International Airport
Introduction
Since the building of Dubai s first airport in 1959, Dubai s aviation industry has grown into one of the
world s largest logistical hubs. With the addition of a $32 billion facility, The Al Maktoum
International Airport, Dubai s aviation industry has had local, regional, and global impact, positioning
Dubai as a world hub in the Middle East for tourism, trade, and commerce (Greenway, 2013, p 33).
This essay will explore the aviation model in Dubai from the creation of its first airport in 1959, to the
planned opening of The Al Maktoum International Airport to passenger travel in 2015.
Topics of this paper will include how Dubai s aviation model has impacted the economies of both
regional and international communities, and how the current infrastructure of Dubai s logistics
industry will affect the growth within the Dubai aviation model. Citing recent studies, this paper will
explore how the Dubai aviation sector has contributed to its own region s growth while threatening the
status of past international aviation hubs such as Britain s Heathrow airport. The ambition of Dubai s
ruling government will be discussed as a major factor in the growth of Dubai s aviation model.
Specifically, how Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Maktoum s ambition and vision has helped establish the
emirate as an award winning logistics hub (Greenway, 2013, p 33). In spite of recent crisis in global
economies, Dubai s aviation sector has largely been responsible for restoring economic and

Echinodermata Research Paper
The primary form of reproduction for all Echinodermata is sexual reproduction. Sexual reproduction
is achieved by the fertilization of a female egg by male spermatozoa. The interesting thing is,
echinoderm male and females expel their eggs and spermatozoa into water, a process known as
spawning, rather than the human and animal form of sexual reproduction. Once an egg is fertilized by
a sperm and an embryo develops, the echinoderm could take several different paths on its way to
develop into its juvenile state. Eggs that are small and lack yolk will go through a stage in which it
spends time as free swimming larvae that becomes part of the plankton. These echinoderms will begin
their life actively feeding on small organisms until they reach their juvenile stage and begin living on
the seafloor. This track of development is known as indirect development. Embryos that develop from
large eggs may develop into a larval, which is planktonic, but it would live off of its own yolk rather
than feeding off of small organisms before the juvenile stage. This is known ad direct development of
echinoderms. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Antarctic, Arctic, and deep sea echinoderms, brood protection is well developed. Brood protection
can be explained as having the young echinoderm inside the body of the female, or it can be attached
to the outer surface of the female s body. In the Antarctic, Arctic, and deep sea species, many young
echinoderms will stay inside the mouth of the female parent, or it will latch to the underside of its
mother s body. In indirect development, the fertilized egg will divide many times, forming a blastula,
or a hollow ball of cells. The cells will continue to divide and form a gastrula, or a double layered

General Mcauliffe s Tactical Mission
Tactical Situation
1. Mission: General McAuliffe s mission was simple; hold the town of Bastogne at any cost to prevent
the German counter assault from breaking through the Allied line. The town was strategically held to
prevent high speed avenues of approach, as well as access to supply and mobilization routes for the
Axis forces. The roadways of St. Vith and Bastogne were paramount for the Germans to advance
north, and press on to the Meuse River, which was their objective. Also part of his mission parameters
were to destroy Axis fuel depots to limit maneuverability of the Panzer division. This would limit the
capabilities of the feared Panzer tanks. The town is located on the western border of Luxembourg
approximately halfway between Holland and France. The allies advanced from Holland in the north,
and France in the South, creating a choke point to round up the German lines, and maintain all high
speed avenues of approach west of Germany. This would mean that German forces would be
consolidated and fortified, making it a consolidated battle of attrition. This was intended to be a battle
of patience, and to wait until one force ran low enough on supplies or manpower, that the other would
be overtaken with ease. Or in the case of the Paratroopers, wait until help arrives. In regards to ...

The Development Of North Korea
The Democratic People s Republic of Korea, or more commonly known as North Korea, is one of the
most secretive and intriguing nations of the world. In a time of saturated globalization and continuous
exchanges of culture and information, little is known about the northern part of the Korean peninsula.
Yet even with this veil of secrecy, it continues to gain our attention. Within North Korea, there have
been numerous incidents that have brought concern within the global community. Famine, corruption,
political prison camps, and threats of nuclear usage are just a few of the marks on the list of its
immoralities. This country has been rightly scrutinized and ridiculed for its actions over the duration
of its development, but what is the reasoning ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Arguments Against Universal Healthcare
In the United States of America, free to access healthcare is imperative for multiple beneficial reasons;
introducing these programs contributes to the unalienable human rights in America. Proposing this
system should further the efficiency and success, not just in medical fields, but for the people
themselves. Universal healthcare would better citizens finacial situations/problems that may occur

In the United States Declaration of Independence, the statement Unalienable rights, that among these

circumstances like citizens not having free access to healthcare this right of Americans appears
contradictory. In the Preamble of Constitution of the United States, states to promote the general
welfare and acquiring healthcare fit for the people is general welfare (Kucinich). Success with this
system is seen inside and outside of a medical center. The NHS (National Health Service in the United
Kingdom) currently lists about 14,000 jobs available in a variety of different fields of medicine

The Conflict Of Love In The Outsiders By S. E Hinton
In Tulsa, Oklahoma, 1960, all people could see in each other was Greaser or Soc. Gangs bonded over
the rivalry between themselves. The separation was the only thing they could both connect over. In
Hinton s The Outsiders, Hinton describes the story of a Greaser named Ponyboy, who is affected
severely by the division between the two gangs. This rift causes fights, rumbles, and members of
either side being jumped and attacked. In this novel, Hinton proves how someone s love can overcome
any obstacle, which can lead to living a life with love and hope and how it can be the death of you,
and how a loved one can kill you, even if they care for you just as much. In S.E Hinton s The
Outsiders, Hinton depicts a world where love is a vital need but a mortal danger.
A strong, loving bond is all you need to break the obstacles in your way. On the way home after a fight
with Darry, Ponyboy and Johnny encounter a group of Socs in their territory. A fight ensues between
them, and it ends when one of the Socs, is drowning Ponyboy, and as a result, Robert Bob Sheldon
lost his life to Johnny and his switchblade. Johnny gave his innocence because of his love for
Ponyboy, proving how love is a danger beyond belief. There were ways the death could have been
avoided, but Johnny was scared beyond belief to the point where he was willing to sacrifice his
chances at happiness for his best friend. Johnny says, I had to. They were drowning you, Pony. They
might have killed you (Hinton 57).

The Renaissance in Art Essay
Renaissance Art
When the new upper class movement, Renaissance, occurred in Italy around the 14th century, a
revival of the classical forms originally developed by the ancient Greeks and Romans, an intensified
concern with secular life, and interest in humanism and assertion of the importance of the individual
began. Thus, artists such as Mosaccio and Giotto depicted art that unlike the Middle Ages, showed
emotions, feelings, and bright colors, thus demonstrating the deep concern for naturalism in the
society. Other artists during the Italian Renaissance period such as Giovanni Bellini began to express
their art through secular and religious themes and ideas that were exhibited through landscapes and
portraits. As new styles of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His most famous and recognized work, however, the Birth of Venus uses the combination of
mythology and religion, also a popular humanistic idea adopted from the Greeks.
With the continuous growth of paintings and artists, prestige for art increased dramatically to the point
in which religious aspects were shown through landscapes, portraits, and temperas. This then allowed
the creation of new styles and mathematical input that manifested everyday life with religious aspects.
One such artist was Giovanni Bellini who introduced bright, rich, strong colors into his palette and
landscapes that expressed the happiness, calmness, and prosperity that Italy carried throughout the
Renaissance. These characteristics and styles of paintings subsequently became a popular Venetian
cornerstone. Other important figures in the Italian Renaissance that demonstrated the movement?s
ideas through their ingenious paintings and architectural methods were Pier Della Francesca and Leon
Battista Alberti. Francesca, who was and expert in mathematics, developed the art form of perspective.
Alberti, on the other hand, as an architect developed the pediment which became popular throughout
the entire Renaissance. His monasteries and churches depicted many of the religious ideas, as evident
in one of his famous works, the Santa Maria Novella. All in all, the use of the common religious
themes such as the annunciation, adoration, Crucifixion, and the popular Madonna

The Pros And Cons Of The Innocence Project
The Innocence Project started in 1992 by Peter Neufeld and Barry Scheck (www.
innocenceproject.org). They helped prove that the convicted person was innocent through DNA
testing. Their mission was to free the incarcerated people and help the legal system to not make these
mistakes again. There are too many innocent people that are wrongfully accused of crimes they did
not commit. One case where the Innocence Project helped exonerate someone is the case of Marvin
Anderson. In July of 1982, a woman was raped by a black man and later identified him as Marvin
Anderson. Throughout his trial, people questioned the evidence and did not believe he was guilty.
Anderson even asked his own lawyers to look into other witnesses that could help prove his ... Show

Racism plays a big part in this case. They assumed Anderson did it because he was black living with a

the crime and who is the right person to convict. It is not fair to prove someone guilty and having that
individual go through a long time in prison before finding out it was not that individual person fault.
There are a lot of different cases with people that are involved in crimes exactly like or similar to what
anderson was thought of doing. There is a quote that reads A report on the many ways justice can go
astray and an innocent person be convicted . . . an alarming wake up call to those who administer our
justice system that serious flaws must be addressed to protect the innocent. The quote says that even if

The Pros And Cons Of Hyper Reality
Hyper reality affects us all. We re increasingly lost in its mesh of simulation. Yet we re blind to it
because we are blinded by it. Hyper reality is a special kind of social reality in which a reality is
created or simulated from models, or defined by reference to models, a reality generated from ideas. It
differs from other realities in that the division between reality and imaginary disappears, we left reality
behind, and never noticed until now. We can no longer tell the former reality from hyper reality, and
we wouldn t know if reality returned. Humans nowadays lives in two worlds one real and one
simulated and the problem is that they can t differentiate between both that s what Baudrillard said.
We as I mentioned before, create simulation, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Everything is a complete simulation it is not real at all, and that is what we need to understand, but we
don t because we don t want to, not because it is unbelievable but because we don t want to believe or

fakeness, or reality what matters is to get them. Nowadays you can t know if a person is talented or
not actually you can t differentiate, because machines are doing the whole work where nothing is hard
on a machine it can duplicate anything, and do it to the fullest, but what a machine can t do is add
imagination to something and everything it does is not unique because it s not original this is what
Benjamin mentioned too and that s why also Baudrillard said nothing around us is real if everything is
duplicated and done by a machine than how can it be real. Two important quotes that Baudrillard said
are: Hell of simulation, which is no longer one of torture, but of subtle, maleficent, elusive twisting of

Don Giovanni Research Paper
A hero is commonly defined by actions which help and aid others. Notable heroes sacrifice their own
wants for the greater good of others, act courageously, and break the norm. The infamous Don
Giovanni in Mozart s Don Giovanni does not fit the conventional idea of a hero. Although he acts with
courage in odd circumstances and appears to adapt radical Enlightenment values, he does not act in
the interest of others. As an 18th century womanizer, or libertine, all sacrifices made by Giovanni
throughout the plot are to serve his own impulses. Therefore, Don Giovanni is a character that is more
equivalent to a stubborn child than a moral hero.

this type of installation can cost a lot more than on deck installation. In ground hot tubs need to be

How Were Women Treated In The 1920 s
Throughout history, women have been viewed differently from men. In the 1880 s and before, women
were in charge of making a happy home, her job above all was to make sure her husband was happy.
Around, the 1910 s women began fighting for their right to vote and to be viewed as an equal to the
janitor that works for them. Still, to this day, women and girls are fighting to be viewed as an equal
and respected as men and boys are in our society. According to, Our Deportment, or The Manners,
Conduct, and Dress of Refined Society by John H. Young, in the 1880 s and before, women didn t
work outside the house, they couldn t vote and their biggest and most important job was to make sure
their husband was happy. In today s society, women are lawyers, doctors, and teachers. They have the
choice to have kids or get married rather than being expected to like they were before. Women s rights
and how they re viewed have evolved so much in 200 plus years, they have jobs outside the house and
for the most part they are viewed as an equal to men. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Mortgage Vs Reverse Mortgage
You can use a reverse mortgage as a retirement tool. Which is better, a home equity line of credit or
reverse mortgage?
With a line of credit, you borrow money and begin paying it back (with interest) immediately. This
makes sense if your needs are short term and you have the income to pay it back quickly. But what if
you need the money for a longer period of time? Then you have to be prepared to make regular
monthly payments for some time to come. If you re like many Canadians living on a fixed income,
these extra monthly payments could be too much for your budget to handle over an extended period of
time.
A reverse mortgage is different because you can choose not to make any payments until you decide to
move or sell your home. Instead, the interest simply compounds on the outstanding balance of the
reverse mortgage while the entire value of your home also continues to appreciate. When you sell your
house, you pay off the accumulated amount of the loan and keep the rest. ... Show more content on

Reverse mortgages are an excellent way to supplement your income on an ongoing basis. You can
choose to access a fixed amount each month. Or you can take out a lump sum and use it to build an
investment portfolio that will generate extra cash flow.
A reverse mortgage will take either your mortgage free house or even a house with a small mortgage
and will pay you a tax free lump sum or an income for the rest of your life or even a combination of
both.

Formed in Staten Island, it consists of ten members, RZA, GZA, Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface

Examples Of Dehumanization In Night By Elie Wiesel
Elie Wiesel uses Rhetorical question and Metaphor to demonstrate the effects of dehumanization.
Wiesel uses a Rhetorical Question to demonstrate that dehumanization causes people to not care
whether they live or die. For example Eliezer states that it would not matter when he died: Here or
else where what difference did it make? To die today or tomorrow, or later? The night was long and
never ending (Wiesel 72). This quotation demonstrates that it did not matter when he died because he
knew it was going to happen and Eliezer was careless. The use of the words die today or tomorrow, or
later implies that No matter what day it is either way he will eventually die. Wiesel uses a Metaphor to
demonstrate that dehumanization causes people to

The American Legal System Of The United States
The American Legal System
Desiree Brown
Kaplan University
The American Legal System
In the American legal system there are two different areas of government, federal and state; it is called
federalism. Together they work to enforce the laws of the United States. Each court system, however,
is divided into many different layers. The federal courts have limited jurisdiction as opposed to the
state courts that are of general jurisdiction. Federal and state governments are both divided into three
different branches, the executive, legislative, and judicial branches. The written constitutions of the
two courts form a system of separate power and checks and balances between the branches.
The federal courts work completely different from the state courts. The federal system is divided into
three main levels, the district courts, the circuit courts, and the supreme court of The United States.
The main difference for civil cases versus criminal cases is the type of cases that are actually able to
be heard within this court system. These courts can only handle cases that have been authorized by the
United States Constitution or federal statutes, giving them limited jurisdiction. The federal court is the
beginning for any case that rises under federal statutes, treaties, or The Constitution. (Introduction to
the Federal Court System, n.d.) The district courts are basically the trial courts. They consist of one
United States district judge who is appointed by the president and

topic: S E X. With that being said my topic of choice was a movie review. This was a bit common and

Abstract
On September 11, 2001 Al Qaeda operatives executed a violent and lethal terrorist attack against the
United States. The attacks against the north and south towers of the World Trade Center, United
Airlines flight 93, and the Pentagon, have collectively been deemed the deadliest terrorist attack to
take place on American soil in the history of the United States. The appalling attacks against New
York City and the nation s capital triggered an immediate assessment of the intelligence community,
existing anti terrorism policies and methodologies, and the overall structure of the United States
intelligence community. More specifically, the federal government began to assess its existing
capabilities to ensure domestic homeland security and enhance the security posture of the United
States. An array of after action reports indicated that communication and collaboration between
varying government agencies was limited and very difficult to navigate. More specifically, intelligence
agencies were extremely restricted and compartmentalized and as a result of such lapses, Al Qaeda
was successful in their attack planning and execution. Although there has been a recognizable
improvement in communication throughout the intelligence community, the United States must evolve

Banquettes are an alternative to chairs, a functional and space saving solution, which offers seating
and storage. Commonly incorporated in kitchens and dining areas, customized banquettes usually help
fill awkward corners and niches and put them to use, which makes banquettes a favorite seating
option. Although it depends on the size of the space, as they are easily accessible when combined with
banquettes, relatively smaller trestle or pedestal tables are a suitable solution. In small spaces, where
every inch counts, banquettes offer extra storage. These usually yet not necessarily built in benches of

1. Review the hypothetical scenario at the beginning of this chapter. Has professional negligence been
committed? What defenses can be raised?
In the case of the attorney who is a recent law school graduate, he can be held negligent if he had no
training or experience in automobile accidents claims, because failure to have skills and learning
commonly possessed by members in good standing within a profession, constitutes professional
negligence. In addition, if the lawyer failed to deliver competent professional service that resulted in

Two architects who works needs to be recognized too are Frank Lloyd Wright and Frank O Gehry.
Both great architects with creative designs that seem to incorporate with their surroundings. Who
contributed so much to our modern designs and buildings that we still visit today. Both architects who
came up with new ideas and designs instead of the traditional like houses and buildings but added new
concept to what we see today. Frank Lloyd Wright was born in the year 1867, in Richland Center,
Wisconsin. Both an architect and writer, he is considered a genius of the American architecture
(Kaufmann 1). Wright went to the University of Wisconsin at Madison for a few terms where he took
engineering courses (Kaufmann 3). He finally left Madison after a few years and found work with J.L.
Silsbee, in architectural detailing. After a few years he opened his own architectural practice. One of
his styles that became the residential design of the 20th century in the United States was the Prairie
Style. The Prairie architecture was known for its revolutionary approach to the building of modern
homes. Wright built about 50 prairie houses in ten years. Two of his major works that stand out is the
Guggenheim Museum located in New York and the Marin County government Centre located near
San Francisco. The Guggenheim Museum is a form of abstract art which has no separate floor levels

The Statue Of The Goddess Sekhmet Analysis
Mistress of peace and of the war cry. Lady of heaven, queen of the gods Great Mut. Creator. Protector.
Lady of joy. Cobra of dread. The vigilant mistress of Karnak. Mighty ruler in her Theban temple. She
whose spirit exists because her temple endures. She whose temple and city will exist for millions of
years 1. This writing comes from a hymn on a stela praising Mut. This stela praising one of the
prominent goddesses of Egypt shows the great praise and proclamations given to their religious
figures. Another such example of Egypt s adoration for their gods is in the statue of Sekhmet, one of
the many other statues found at the Temple of Mut. The statue stands as another representation of not
only Egypt s growing religious movements, but of the growing artistic movements in sculpting as well
and the appreciation the higher powers of Egyptians had on their gods and religion.
The Statue of the Goddess Sekhmet is currently held at the Royal Ontario Museum in the Ancient
Egypt exhibit with the inventory number, 2007. 68. 1. The statue depicts a woman with the head of a
lion, the goddess Sekhmet herself, sitting on a throne and has a broken off muzzle due to age. The
figure sits rigidly on top of a throne, a common depiction of some of the important gods of Egypt.
Originally the statue had held an ankh but had broken off due to age. It was sculpted out of black
granite and stands at 184 centimetres.
The statue was built during the New Kingdom specifically the 18th dynasty

Edward slowly stalked out of the dark, dusty cell. A guard lay motionless next to the open door, his
throat slit and his face drained of color. He had been trapped in the tiny room for months and he was

was dark, damp, and humid. There were streaks of red along the walls, most likely due to the massive
iron deposits above his underground prison. Edward took all of this in as he crept through the unlit
hallway, a small, jagged piece of bloody glass in hand. Seven years ago, Edward s life had been
perfect. He was healthy, rich, and respected. Many people looked up to him and he had no enemies. At

Inclusive Practice in the Primary School.
How inclusive is Frederick Bird Primary School as a learning community?
Inclusive education is an unabashed announcement, a public and political declaration and celebration
of difference. (Corbett, J. 2001:134)
The principles of inclusion and their implications on school practice have been fiercely debated by
leading educational experts for many years. In 1994, delegates from 92 governments met at the world
conference on special needs education, to consider policy changes that would enable educators to
provide inclusive education for all. The result of this conference was the adoption of The Salamanca
Statement and Framework for Action which provides recommendations and stipulations for the

This is an essential exercise for any school striving to be inclusive. Ainscow (2007:3) argues that the
biggest challenge facing the education system, is the development of practices that will reach out to
learners failed by existing arrangements. It is my belief that the most effective way of tackling this
matter is through this collaborative way of working. This enables practitioners to challenge and
redefine entrenched views of difference that can have a negative impact on certain types of learners
and find new ways of moving forward.
This ethos is reflected in every day teaching and learning. Every child within the school is treated
respectfully as an individual and lessons are strategically planned to accommodate all needs and
aspirations. The level of differentiation employed can be seen clearly in the case of Kyle .
Kyle is a popular and intelligent Year 6 student. He is an all round sports enthusiast who relishes any
opportunity to take part in team experiences and possesses excellent leadership skills. However, Kyle
is dyslexic and came to Year 6 disengaged with his learning and lacking in self esteem and motivation.
It was through open conversations with previous teachers and his parents that we were able to
establish the basis for Kyle s disconnection with the curriculum. Kyle viewed himself as an incapable
underachiever due to the ability level of the work he was expected to produce. Through

Management Styles In Management

Life in South India Can you imagine being born in one culture and learning all of their beliefs, and
then coming to the United States where you had to begin a whole new life with new customs and
traditions different from the ones you had already learned? I cannot possibly imagine how it would
feel to be an outsider learning and trying to comprehend what a new culture does. To understand how
this must feel, I interviewed a man that has been close to me basically my whole life. Interviewing my
pediatrician I have had for the past twenty years really had an impact on me. I had not understood
exactly what consisted of another culture until interviewing, especially his culture in which I never
thought of. Learning and interviewing a different culture helped me see some very important things,
one being how every culture has their own specific characteristics that make up how their culture is
unique, and the other, comparing and contrasting it to our own, American culture. Interviewing a
person that had been so close to me and my family for so long made it that much more interesting
while completeing. I was asked to sit in the office I had always sat in as a little kid and remembering

  • 2. Assignment Questions On Recruiting, Screening, And... Workbook Questions #1 Initial Stage P.13 #2. How would you go about recruiting, screening, and selecting members for one of your groups? In accordance with The Association for Specialists in Group Work (ASGW) the Best Practice Guidelines, I want to make direct contact with my population. Therefore, I would create flyers that accurately advertise and describe the group purpose in resource centers that cater to gay men. Such resources would include; HIV/AIDS clinics such as the Orlando Immunology Center, The Center for the LGBTQ community, Hope and Help, and other professionals that work closely with the LGBTQ community. Professionals, such as counselors, doctors, and social workers can distribute the printed information about my group ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These issues and goals would be discussed with each potential member by each of the two counselors during an interview process in a private office. Consequently, the counselors would explain confidentiality and the group policies at this time. Because of the stigma around HIV/AIDS, the potential members would be asked if they are willing to sign a contract stating that they would not talk about other members outside of the group or identify other members as being part of the group to the public. Member selection would consist partly of the counselor s instinct of who would fit the dynamics needed to help the group grow and change. However, I want group members who want to feel better about their diagnosis and willing to work in and outside the group. Members who have come to the interview process prepared to talk about feelings and goals are highly considered (psychologically minded). Our group is looking for members who want a Positive Outlook about their diagnosis, while understanding that some may not be in the frame of mind to think positively yet. Difficult members will not automatically be dismissed because they may need the most help with coping with their disease. For this group, the potential member should be in one of the first three stages of change. Therefore, some of my questions would be to establish what stage of change the client is in and the commitment level to reaching change. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Prokaryotes All living organisms on Earth are classified within three domains Archaea, Bacteria, and Eukarya. Bacteria and Archaea encompass a generalised classification known as the prokaryotes. This definition follows the extensive similarities between the two domains, such as their manner of gene expression, their fundamental metabolic pathways, as well as their lack of membrane bound organelles, and compartmentalisation. Due to the cellular compartmentalisation that eukaryotes exhibit, as well as more complex modes of metabolism and replication, prokaryotes are generally considered to be the precursors to eukaryotic cells. One of the other defining characteristics of eukaryotic cells that allow for multicellularity to occur is the presence of a complex ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is therefore suggested that MreB and actin originated from a common ancestor, as so, further suggests that actin was a result of MreB divergence in eukaryotes. Bacterial MreB functions in maintaining the shape of the bacterial cell, whereby MreB assembles into filaments which display an extensive structural resemblance to actin. The divergence of MreB in eukaryotic cells is seen to be similar to the divergence of FtsZ to tubulin, where MreB acquired new functions as eukaryotes evolved. These new functions included the ability to perform cell division specific to eukaryotic cells, cell movement through pseudopodia, and phagocytosis. Phagocytosis is postulated to have been a central step in the success of eukaryotic evolution, as the ability to engulf other organisms such as bacteria and archaea led to eukaryotes becoming predators. The ability to perform predation contributed heavily to the survival of the eukaryotic line, as it reduced competition. Phagocytosis also allowed for the engulfment of cyanobacteria and other bacteria which contributed to endosymbiosis, further increasing the complexity of eukaryotic cells. In order to perform phagocytosis, eukaryotic cells would have had to remove their inflexible cell wall, a remnant of their prokaryotic ancestors. The remaining plasma membrane would have allowed for increased flexibility and the ability to project towards the prey, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The National Alliance For End Homelessness Essay One of the simplest pieces of knowledge we acquire in elementary school (for future growth and development) are the three basic needs a living organism requires for living: food, water, and shelter. However, not everyone has access to all of these essentials. Homeless people are faced with awful conditions and suffer more due to poor weather conditions, diseases, and lack of safety. There hasn t been much progress on this issue, and if this continues, the number of homeless people will only increase. In a few states the topic is being named as a statewide emergency , but unfortunately this problem is national. Instead of focusing on state programs, local programs and non profit organizations to fix the housing issue, we must all contribute to ending this epidemic. The National Alliance to End Homelessness (NAEH) released an article stating, In January 2015, 564,708 people were homeless on a given night in the United States (Snapshot of Homelessness). We must develop a solution to end long term homelessness immediately. The best way of solving this issue is to provide stable long term housing, which is a term used to describe the home s environment and financial status. The most logical solution for homelessness is a project known as Housing First. The Housing First program was first launched by Tanya Tull, an individual with first hand experience of poverty and advocate for homelessness, due to an increasing number of homeless people in the 1990s. Unfortunately, the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Dubai Aviation And International Airport Introduction Since the building of Dubai s first airport in 1959, Dubai s aviation industry has grown into one of the world s largest logistical hubs. With the addition of a $32 billion facility, The Al Maktoum International Airport, Dubai s aviation industry has had local, regional, and global impact, positioning Dubai as a world hub in the Middle East for tourism, trade, and commerce (Greenway, 2013, p 33). This essay will explore the aviation model in Dubai from the creation of its first airport in 1959, to the planned opening of The Al Maktoum International Airport to passenger travel in 2015. Topics of this paper will include how Dubai s aviation model has impacted the economies of both regional and international communities, and how the current infrastructure of Dubai s logistics industry will affect the growth within the Dubai aviation model. Citing recent studies, this paper will explore how the Dubai aviation sector has contributed to its own region s growth while threatening the status of past international aviation hubs such as Britain s Heathrow airport. The ambition of Dubai s ruling government will be discussed as a major factor in the growth of Dubai s aviation model. Specifically, how Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Maktoum s ambition and vision has helped establish the emirate as an award winning logistics hub (Greenway, 2013, p 33). In spite of recent crisis in global economies, Dubai s aviation sector has largely been responsible for restoring economic and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Echinodermata Research Paper The primary form of reproduction for all Echinodermata is sexual reproduction. Sexual reproduction is achieved by the fertilization of a female egg by male spermatozoa. The interesting thing is, echinoderm male and females expel their eggs and spermatozoa into water, a process known as spawning, rather than the human and animal form of sexual reproduction. Once an egg is fertilized by a sperm and an embryo develops, the echinoderm could take several different paths on its way to develop into its juvenile state. Eggs that are small and lack yolk will go through a stage in which it spends time as free swimming larvae that becomes part of the plankton. These echinoderms will begin their life actively feeding on small organisms until they reach their juvenile stage and begin living on the seafloor. This track of development is known as indirect development. Embryos that develop from large eggs may develop into a larval, which is planktonic, but it would live off of its own yolk rather than feeding off of small organisms before the juvenile stage. This is known ad direct development of echinoderms. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In Antarctic, Arctic, and deep sea echinoderms, brood protection is well developed. Brood protection can be explained as having the young echinoderm inside the body of the female, or it can be attached to the outer surface of the female s body. In the Antarctic, Arctic, and deep sea species, many young echinoderms will stay inside the mouth of the female parent, or it will latch to the underside of its mother s body. In indirect development, the fertilized egg will divide many times, forming a blastula, or a hollow ball of cells. The cells will continue to divide and form a gastrula, or a double layered ... • 7. General Mcauliffe s Tactical Mission Tactical Situation 1. Mission: General McAuliffe s mission was simple; hold the town of Bastogne at any cost to prevent the German counter assault from breaking through the Allied line. The town was strategically held to prevent high speed avenues of approach, as well as access to supply and mobilization routes for the Axis forces. The roadways of St. Vith and Bastogne were paramount for the Germans to advance north, and press on to the Meuse River, which was their objective. Also part of his mission parameters were to destroy Axis fuel depots to limit maneuverability of the Panzer division. This would limit the capabilities of the feared Panzer tanks. The town is located on the western border of Luxembourg approximately halfway between Holland and France. The allies advanced from Holland in the north, and France in the South, creating a choke point to round up the German lines, and maintain all high speed avenues of approach west of Germany. This would mean that German forces would be consolidated and fortified, making it a consolidated battle of attrition. This was intended to be a battle of patience, and to wait until one force ran low enough on supplies or manpower, that the other would be overtaken with ease. Or in the case of the Paratroopers, wait until help arrives. In regards to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Equipment: American forces were limited to the 101st Airborne Division, three Artillery Battalions, comprised of 12, 155mm Howitzers, four M18 Hellcat Tank Destroyers, and standardized infantry load outs. The separation was the only thing they could both connect over. In Hinton s The Outsiders, Hinton describes the story of a Greaser named Ponyboy, who is affected severely by the division between the two gangs. In S.E Hinton s The Outsiders, Hinton depicts a world where love is a vital need but a mortal danger. A strong, loving bond is all you need to break the obstacles in your way. On the way home after a fight with Darry, Ponyboy and Johnny encounter a group of Socs in their territory. A fight ensues between them, and it ends when one of the Socs, is drowning Ponyboy, and as a result, Robert Bob Sheldon lost his life to Johnny and his switchblade. Thus, artists such as Mosaccio and Giotto depicted art that unlike the Middle Ages, showed emotions, feelings, and bright colors, thus demonstrating the deep concern for naturalism in the society. With a line of credit, you borrow money and begin paying it back (with interest) immediately. This makes sense if your needs are short term and you have the income to pay it back quickly. But what if you need the money for a longer period of time? Then you have to be prepared to make regular monthly payments for some time to come. If you re like many Canadians living on a fixed income, these extra monthly payments could be too much for your budget to handle over an extended period of time. An array of after action reports indicated that communication and collaboration between varying government agencies was limited and very difficult to navigate. More specifically, intelligence agencies were extremely restricted and compartmentalized and as a result of such lapses, Al Qaeda was successful in their attack planning and execution. Although there has been a recognizable improvement in communication throughout the intelligence community, the United States must evolve and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Commonly incorporated in kitchens and dining areas, customized banquettes usually help fill awkward corners and niches and put them to use, which makes banquettes a favorite seating option. Although it depends on the size of the space, as they are easily accessible when combined with banquettes, relatively smaller trestle or pedestal tables are a suitable solution. Peter Quill a.k.a Star Lord, Gamora, Rocket, Groot and Drax the destroyer ignore the archetypes bestowed on them from previous stories such as Robin Hood and his band of Merry Men, The Avengers and the Justice League. In the case of the attorney who is a recent law school graduate, he can be held negligent if he had no training or experience in automobile accidents claims, because failure to have skills and learning commonly possessed by members in good standing within a profession, constitutes professional negligence. In addition, if the lawyer failed to deliver competent professional service that resulted in the client s suffering damages, then professional negligence can be charged as well. One of his styles that became the residential design of the 20th century in the United States was the Prairie Style. • 33. The Statue Of The Goddess Sekhmet Analysis Mistress of peace and of the war cry. Lady of heaven, queen of the gods Great Mut. Creator. Protector. Lady of joy. Cobra of dread. The vigilant mistress of Karnak. Mighty ruler in her Theban temple. She whose spirit exists because her temple endures. She whose temple and city will exist for millions of years 1. This writing comes from a hymn on a stela praising Mut. This stela praising one of the prominent goddesses of Egypt shows the great praise and proclamations given to their religious figures. Another such example of Egypt s adoration for their gods is in the statue of Sekhmet, one of the many other statues found at the Temple of Mut. The statue stands as another representation of not only Egypt s growing religious movements, but of the growing artistic movements in sculpting as well and the appreciation the higher powers of Egyptians had on their gods and religion. The Statue of the Goddess Sekhmet is currently held at the Royal Ontario Museum in the Ancient Egypt exhibit with the inventory number, 2007. 68. 1. The statue depicts a woman with the head of a lion, the goddess Sekhmet herself, sitting on a throne and has a broken off muzzle due to age. • 34. Edward s Life Had Been Perfect Edward slowly stalked out of the dark, dusty cell. A guard lay motionless next to the open door, his throat slit and his face drained of color. He had been trapped in the tiny room for months and he was finally free. He inhaled deeply, taking in the ancient, musty air. The corridor that contained his cell was dark, damp, and humid. There were streaks of red along the walls, most likely due to the massive iron deposits above his underground prison. Edward took all of this in as he crept through the unlit hallway, a small, jagged piece of bloody glass in hand. Seven years ago, Edward s life had been perfect. He was healthy, rich, and respected. Many people looked up to him and he had no enemies. At least, he thought that he had no enemies. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The rest of the car ride was dead silent. Eventually, the car slowly came to a halt. He heard the 2 men in the front of the car shift in their seats. Hey, he said, what are you Edward heard a dull thud and was knocked backward. The last things he could remember were feeling a sharp, stinging pain in the front of his skull and slowly losing consciousness. When he awoke, Edward noticed a throbbing pain in his head. He couldn t see anything, thanks to the blindfold, and couldn t say anything due to the gag. His hands were tied behind his back, his arms were bound with rope, and his feet were lashed together. His body was completely immobilized. Behind him, Edward could hear some men whispering and metal scraping against the floor. He strained to hear what they were discussing until his blindfold was removed. His eyes were immediately blinded by the sudden reintroduction to the light and he instinctively shut them. Inclusive education is an unabashed announcement, a public and political declaration and celebration of difference. (Corbett, J. 2001:134) The principles of inclusion and their implications on school practice have been fiercely debated by leading educational experts for many years. In 1994, delegates from 92 governments met at the world conference on special needs education, to consider policy changes that would enable educators to provide inclusive education for all. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is an essential exercise for any school striving to be inclusive. Ainscow (2007:3) argues that the biggest challenge facing the education system, is the development of practices that will reach out to learners failed by existing arrangements. It is my belief that the most effective way of tackling this matter is through this collaborative way of working. This enables practitioners to challenge and redefine entrenched views of difference that can have a negative impact on certain types of learners and find new ways of moving forward. This ethos is reflected in every day teaching and learning. Every child within the school is treated respectfully as an individual and lessons are strategically planned to accommodate all needs and aspirations. The level of differentiation employed can be seen clearly in the case of Kyle . Kyle is a popular and intelligent Year 6 student. He is an all round sports enthusiast who relishes any opportunity to take part in team experiences and possesses excellent leadership skills. It was a thriving Roman metropolis settled on the coastline of North Africa, and its market was one of the most flourishing; ships sailing the Mediterranean brought forth valuable goods, slaves and exotic animals. Immense quantities of olive oil also arrived in the country, as well as high quality garum, and salted fish were brought in from the coast. This grand port, with its superb monumental architecture, was fast becoming the busiest in the Roman Empire. Along with personal issues that managers deal with in libraries, new technologies are introduced quickly. Managers are responsible for staff training on the new technology and creating new policies for the technology. Empowerment is one the most important things that a manager can give to their employee. Brittany Duncan Education 221.002 Midterm Paper 7 October 2014 Life in South India Can you imagine being born in one culture and learning all of their beliefs, and then coming to the United States where you had to begin a whole new life with new customs and traditions different from the ones you had already learned? I cannot possibly imagine how it would feel to be an outsider learning and trying to comprehend what a new culture does. To understand how this must feel, I interviewed a man that has been close to me basically my whole life. Interviewing my pediatrician I have had for the past twenty years really had an impact on me. I had not understood exactly what consisted of another culture until interviewing, especially his culture in which I never thought of. Learning and interviewing a different culture helped me see some very important things, one being how every culture has their own specific characteristics that make up how their culture is unique, and the other, comparing and contrasting it to our own, American culture. Interviewing a person that had been so close to me and my family for so long made it that much more interesting while completeing. I was asked to sit in the office I had always sat in as a little kid and remembering that I had never had a problem with Dr. Krishna s race before.
