WHAT IS ON-THE-JOB TRAINING?
• A contract between Worksource and an employer to hire
and train an individual on-the-job
• The OJT training period lasts from 1 to 6 months
• To offset cost of training, employers are compensated up
to 50% of wages during the training period
• Businesses choose from eligible Worksource candidates
There is an expectation of continued employment after the
after the OJT; this is not temporary work

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
✓ Eligible positions can range from entry-level to
high-level executive, wages must be at least $10 an
hour with benefits.
✓ Permanent / Regular employment which provides a
minimum of 30 hours of work per week and is
anticipated to last at least one year.
✓ Medical benefits offered with an employer
contribution towards premiums.*
✓ No employees can be in layoff status for the
position in which is being hired for OJT.
✓ Company cannot have relocated to the area in last
120 days leaving laid-off employees behind.
* Employees with less than 25 employees that do not offer benefits, the starting wage must be $14 an
must be $14 an hour and 40 hours a week.
WHAT ARE THE QUALIFICATIONS?
You need to be:
• Oregon resident
• Unemployed
• Registered with Selective Service
(if male)

dependent on this program.
• Continue active Job Searching.
• Due to funding and a limited number of OJT
opportunities, not all job seekers seeking OJT’s
will get an OJT.

NCRC - NATIONAL CAREER READINESS CERTIFICATE
National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) is a nationally recognized
certificate that assesses work-related skills in three areas: math, reading, and
locating information. The NCRC is a requirement for becoming a certified
work ready customer through Talent Link and is strongly recommended by
hundreds of region-wide employers
NCRC demonstrates that an individual has the foundational workplace skills
necessary to succeed in the training plan and on the job
A 2 hour Locating Information workshop is conducted at this office to get you
ready for the test. NCRC testing happens every Friday at SEWorks from
8:30 to 1:30
If you are interested in taking the NCRC, please talk with someone at the front
desk and they will help you get enrolled in the pre-work and/or NCRC
