Peer teaching involves students teaching material to one another in small groups. The teacher first explains the topic and divides students into groups of 4-6. Within their groups, students discuss the material and come to a consensus conclusion. They then take turns teaching their findings to other groups. Feedback is provided and issues are discussed until all students have a uniform understanding. Peer teaching improves motivation, learning processes, social interaction, higher-level thinking, group work skills, responsibility, collaboration, communication skills, and learning outcomes. However, it requires time and the teacher must ensure all students are engaged.
