1) The Dimension Selector allows users to quickly create views in Necto by dragging and dropping dimensions. It has three modes - Simple, Dimensions, and Preview - for manipulating slicers, rows, columns, and previewing the cross tab. 2) Simple mode allows dragging dimensions from the Slicers area to Rows or Columns. Slicers offer slicing, selecting/removing, and showing non-empty members. 3) The Preview area shows the resulting cross tab and allows auto-refreshing as changes are made in Simple mode.

2. Overview
• Dimension Selector is a way to quickly and easily create a view
• Only Meta data is used so it is very fast to manipulate
• Drag and drop interface gives a more intuitive option for view
manipulation not just creation

3. Dimensions Selector Location
The dimensions selector appears in two places in Necto:
1) New View creation wizard
2) Modify the current view with the
‘Dimension Selector’

4. Modes
The dimension selector has three optional modes (all shown in new
view Wizard).
1) Simple – Just showing default Slicers, Columns and Rows
2) Dimensions – shows Simple plus the option to add more dimensions
from the cube
3) Preview – shows Simple plus a visualization of the crosstab that you are
creating (along with other options).
