6 : Dimension Selector

2. Overview
 Dimension Selector is a way to quickly and easily
create a view.
 Only Meta data is used so it is very fast to
manipulate
 Drag and drop interface gives a more intuitive
option for view manipulation not just creation.

 The dimensions selector
appears in 2 places in
Necto
 New View creation
wizard
 Modify the current view
with the ‘Dimension
Selector’

4. Modes
 The dimension selector has 3 optional modes (all
shown in new view Wizard).
 Simple – Just showing default Slicers, Columns and
Rows
 Dimensions – shows Simple and or Preview plus
the option to add more dimensions from the cube
 Preview – shows Simple and or Dimensions plus
a visualization of the crosstab that you are creating
(along with other options).

5. Simple Mode
 Drag and drop Dimensions from the Slicers area to
either Rows or Columns
 Select, Slice & Dice and many more functions.

6. Simple Mode (slicers area)
 We offer the ability to Slice (Simple/Advanced),
Select/Remove and Show non-empty members for
Dimensions
 Slice and Select/Remove members for Measure
dimensions.
