Voting And Politics In The United States
Voting and Politics are topics that cause controversy amongst Americans. Moreover, many people do
not express his or her right to vote because they feel like their vote will not matter. Additionally, many
individuals just look for the republican or democratic candidate and conduct little research as to the
candidate s political views. I, however, look for three important aspects before voting for an
individual; His or her stance of education, the environment, and whether I feel they are genuine in
their promises. Since I am a special education major, education is important to me; not only for a job,
but for the future of our country. Before voting for an individual, I look to see how he or she plans to

Fayol s Management Principles
Introduction
The management and organisations discipline considers Henry Fayol (1841 1925) to be one of the
early practitioners of management who recognised principles and theories of management. Indeed,
current students, teachers and practitioners find Fayol s management principles to be of interest. This
is especially the case since numerous management authors (Bose, 2013: Lamond, 2005: Lewis, 2007)
have the common belief that Fayol s effort founded the elementary framework and principles for
management theory currently being applied. Fayol dedicated a lot of time to endorsing the theory of
administration and throughout this time argued that all business activities precipitate undertakings
which are classified into six groups: financial, commercial, technical, accounting security, and
management (Lamond, 2005). While focusing on the management aspect, Fayol considered it to be a
systematic arrangement and integration of the financial, accounting, production, and sales functions of
the organisation. Hence, the purpose of Fayol s management theory was a way of establishing
management as a different aspect from other technical activities, however, important to the integration
of various organisational activities in order to realise a common objective. In that respect, Parker
Ritson, 2005 posit that Fayol s management principles offered and continue to offer an overall
management outlook for practising managers as well as an instructional manual for academicians in
the management discipline. The objective of this report is to therefore critically discuss Fayol s
perspectives through an analysis of these views as well as other ... Show more content on

Theme Of Saving Mr Ugwu By Lin Robinson
Delprøve 2: Saving Mr Ugwu
Ethnic, racial and religious discrimination has been a well known topic across the world, for many
centuries and to this day it s still a very complicating factor in our society. Cities and countries is
divided by issues such as religion or even the color of the skin. We can see issues like these that has
caused wars across the world through history and by now. We would think that people would know
better than that, but we still see wars based on religious differences and hierarchies between the social
classes. In the short story Saving Mr Ugwu by Lin Anderson the conflicts between skin color,
ethnicity and religion is shown through the consequences of the nigerian civil war that, divided ethnic

Understanding Engineering And Leadership Skills
As a young graduate student from field of Industrial Management, I have always wondered about the
transformation of one s personality from student to a responsible employee and then to a leader
driving a group. This course has taught me the basic structure of interpersonal skills that should be
part of one s repertoire to evolve in professional life. As the course draws to conclusion I am confident
that the communication and leadership skills gained during this period have shaped me into a better
manager. Being a better manager will help me in efficiently handling the challenges posed by
corporate world in my professional life.

The communication among us was lacking acknowledgement, appreciation and apologizing.
The other requirement of being part of a high achieving group was to display theatre skills in driving
my points and also the group s idea as a whole. My introvert or shy attitude did not help me in being a
good presenter during the core meetings of our groups. Due to the lack of impressive presentation and
theatre skills, my confidence was going lower with every opportunity to present our ideas. After the
meetings I was left with the feeling of letting down myself and the entire group who have trusted me
to showcase the group s achievements.
While I was working for my previous company, once there was a teambuilding session in which me
and fellow colleagues were divided into groups and were handed out specific tasks such as building a
gingerbread house. Our team had some of the best employees in my division and I naturally expected
us to win the teambuilding event. To everybody s surprise we could never got started on the activity. It
was not clear then why we failed to even kick start the teambuilding activity. During this course I
started to understand the reason behind our failure. It was due to lack of an able leadership. None of us
were willing to be a leader, one who can create a healthy space for communication, display vision,
empower others with confidence and create a comfortable space to work. This

Food Service Supplies ( Fss )
1.1 Problem Description
Food Service Supplies (FSS) is a UK based provider which provides perishable foodstuff to catering
industry and it started supplying professional catering companies. Upon managing the foodstuff
delivery business, FSS consists of four sub systems and to receive an order, there are three channels
available which are calls directly, online order and paper form order.
It is important for FSS to track information of a customer order and food delivery but somehow, such
service level is failed. The problem of service failures including mis interpretation of customer order,
mis picking of products, damage to goods during distribution and incorrect invoice affects the
customers, managing director and the company staff. These arise from manual order, generation of
dispatch notes and the loading of picked orders onto trucks for delivery, manual picking list as well as
from completed delivery notes and the generation of Invoices. The impact of which is a dissatisfied
customers and losing of business.
As a result, the Managing Director of FSS initiated a project to investigate the requirements for a
proposed Service Level Reporting(SLR) solution. This project is to track service level failures and
report on key performance indicators across the organization.

The Human Personification Of The Enlightenment Period Essay
Throughout much of the history of civilizations, states have declared war for land, valuables, and
resources. In the course of the mid 20th century and the 21st century, ascendant super powers have
invaded foreign lands for resources such as oil, and weapons companies have profited from the
ongoing cycle of war these super powers promote. The populations of these states have been fed lies
vis à vis the media; propagandizing these rogue nations and promoting an Us vs. Them mentality, to
garner support for these armed conflicts. War is our primordial instinct, as humans are territorial and
aggressive. That is our nature, and by looking at events in our history, one may see that war appears to
be timeless and inevitable. War as defined by Webster s Dictionary is a state of open and declared,
hostile armed conflict between states or nations. Voltaire the human personification of the
Enlightenment period says the following: Famine, plague, and war are the three most famous
ingredients of this wretched world...All animals are perpetually at war with each other...Air, earth and
water are arenas of destruction. Defining war has been a political issue for centuries, and it poses a
philosophical problem. Most philosophers will agree on war being a clash of arms, or a state of mutual
tension between nations or states, distinguishing it from open rebellions, riots, and personal violence.
Immanuel Kant, like many philosophers, has a negative conception of mankind on the subject of

The Announcement From A 1 Holdings Company
The announcement from A 1 Holdings Company for a hostile takeover made National Brands
management worried. The CEO of the National Brand, Bill Hall, the chief operating officer, Tom
Straw, the chief financial officer, Doris Faraday, and Stan Lindner from public relation all sat down
and discussed on this particular problem. So far, A 1 Holdings had already bought 5 percent of
National Brand s outstanding shares and made offer for the rest at 7 1/8 over market, which was $55
per share. For Bill Hall, the head of A 1 Holdings, Kelly O Brien was a bad guy who might just want
to take over the company and make his employees miserable. Tom Straw then suggested the poison
pill approach to defense the takeover but the idea was doubted by Stan because it did not seem good
for the company. Doris, after working with her numbers, proposed her Pac Man defense idea. The Pac
Man defense approach meant making counter offer to buy A 1 Holdings at $17 a share. She believed
with National Brands strong financial position, it is highly possible that this defense would work. Bill
agreed with this idea and started to have his people working on analyzing the details of this approach.
The analysis started with A 1 Holdings ability to buy all the rest 95 percent of National Brands. This
95 percent equaled 107,958,000 shares outstanding, and at the offer of $55 per share, A 1 Holdings
would need the equivalent of $5,937,690,000 in cash to be able to take over National Brands. Assume

Writers Face Censorship In Persian Letters By Montesquieu...
Writers Face Censorship Most, but not all, government and church
authorities felt they had a sacred duty to defend the old order. They
believed that God had set up the old order. To protect against the attacks
of the Enlightenment, they waged a war of censorship, or restricting
access to ideas and information. They banned and burned books and
imprisoned writers.
To avoid censorship, philosophes and writers like Montesquieu and
Voltaire sometimes disguised their ideas in works of fiction. In the
Persian Letters, Montesquieu used two fictional Persian travelers, named
Usbek and Rica, to mock French society. The hero of Voltaire s satirical
novel Candide, published in 1759, travels across Europe and even to the

Economics Essay Telephone Masts
Using the information in the data and your own economic knowledge, evaluate the economic case for
and against governments attempting to influence how mobile phones are manufactured and used. (25)
The government should intervene in the mobile phone market to correct market failure due to the
presence of negative externalities.
Negative externalities are detrimental third party effects caused by the production and/or consumption
of a good. A public good is a good provided free of charge to the consumer, by the government. A
public good is non excludable and non rivalrous. A merit good is a good that gives positive
externalities upon production and/or consumption. A merit good is non excludable, yet rivalrous.

Therefore, the government should intervene to correct imperfect knowledge and decrease demand for
mobile phones.
Imperfect knowledge occurs when either the consumer or the producer know more than the other
about the externalities that occur due to the production or consumption of a good. A government can
use persuasion techniques to correct imperfect knowledge on the part of the consumer. Ways in which
the government can do this include educational advertising and changes to the national curriculum to
impart views the government deems will correct imperfect knowledge.
It is argued that the production of mobile phones exerts negative externalities on the Asian employees
of the mobile phone (Extract E, Line 16). An example of a negative externality on the Asian workers
is that of low wages paid by Western firms to employees in poorer, foreign countries. If the
government s policy of persuasion was successful, demand for mobile phones produced by firms that
incur low costs by paying lower wages should decrease (See Figure 2). This would decrease the
quantity consumed of low cost mobile phones, and reduce the negative externality of an inequality in
the distribution of wealth and incomes, present in the production of low cost mobile phones.
If persuasion was successful, it would also provide incentive to firms that produce mobile phones to
increase wages and lower negative externalities, as demand would be higher in the market for mobile
phones produced with

Optical And Electrical Properties Of Pva Ag
ABSTRACT In the present work, PVAAg nanocomposite films with thickness 0.18 mm, constant
silver content (0.4 wt. %) and different time of reactions (0.1, 3, 5, 7, 9 h) were prepared by chemical
reduction methods. Surface topology, optical and electrical properties of PVAAg nanocomposite were
studied using absorption spectroscopy, electrometer, atomic force microscope (AFM) and
photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy were used to characterize the prepared nanocomposites. Optical
absorption coefficient studies showed a peak at 427 nm for all samples, in addition to the peak at 200
nm for undoped PVA film. There is observable change in the absorbed intensity at 427 nm with the
time of reaction. The refractive index was found increase with increasing the time of reaction. It was
found that the root mean square (RMS) roughness. Frank poole emission is the prevailing transport
mechanism for all samples. While PL intensity at 427 nm increase as the time of reaction is increased.

Virginia Woolf s Of Human Bondage
Of Human Bondage is, as we all know, written from Philip s point of view, and therefore we
sympathize with Philip, care about what goes on his life, and even feel attached to him. But, if the
story had been written from say, Mildred s point of view, we may not feet the same about Philip.
Chances are, his characterization would be completely different because of how Mildred views him,
and we would probably grow to dislike Philip as much as we learned to dislike Mildred. Many have
heard the saying, history is written by the winners, meaning we more commonly sympathize with the
winners because it is they who got to tell the story, and we learn to dislike the opposing side, the way
we dislike the British of the Revolutionary, the way we dislike ... Show more content on

We would have been able to understand her thoughts about Philip, her odd distaste for him, how she
genuinely felt about the German man she left Philip for. We may view Philip in a different light, as a
weak, easily manipulated man, or as a man who didn t care, didn t understand her situation. While we
would still, most likely, see the faults in Mildred, the way we did with Philip, we would probably
think of them in a kinder way. After all, we all disliked Mildred when she left Philip, who clearly
loved her, to be with the German man. Yet, is that not what Philip did do Nora, who really did love
him? The two characters have many similarities, yet we view one as good, and one as bad. Both raised
by people other than their parents, both concerned with money, both easily distracted, both in love
just, not necessarily with each other. They both turned to others for money when they were struggling;
Philip wishing his uncle would die, Mildred begging Philip for help. Neither of these characters are
exactly good people, but they are seen as opposing forces of good versus evil. It is in this way that,
through perspective, we choose who are the good people, and who are the bad. If Of Human Bondage

Existentialism as Exemplified in ‘the Seventh Seal’
Existentialism as Exemplified in The Seventh Seal
The Seventh Seal is a 1957 Swedish film written and directed by Ingmar Bergman. The film offers
interwoven storyline. It starts with a game of chess between a medieval knight, Antonius Block, and
Death in which if Block won, Death will prolong the knight s life. This game goes on in intermittent
times.
The knight is accompanied by his squire, Jöns, as they go back to the knight s castle to be reunited
with his wife. Throughout their journey, they come across various characters and people in the village
who are struggling amidst the impending death brought about by the Black Plague.
Block and Jöns met Jof and Mia, the couple who work as actors. There they have conversed with each

The existence of a Supreme Being is being summoned in situations where people are in need of such
assistance. Truly a remarkable film, The Seventh Seal effectively portrays this question in sight of
existentialism. God, neither the devil, was not present. There was even a scene where Block asked the
woman accused of having contact with the devil to summon the devil so that Block will be able to ask
about the about the existence of God. Block was not able to see anything. As it turns out, the woman
was falsely accused by the priest.
Block came to a point where he asked the existence of God when he confesses to Death, disguised as a
priest but Death himself did not give answers to this. Even at the end of the film, Death did not
explain this to Block. Quoting Block, My life has been a futile pursuit, a wandering, a great deal of
talk without meaning. I feel no bitterness or self reproach because the lives of most people are very
much like this. In what pursuit did he wasted his time into? Perhaps he was pertaining to his search for
the existence of God.
Aside from Block, a more existential character than him is introduced his squire, Jöns. In Jöns
conversation with the painter in the church, he mentioned that, This is squire Jöns. He grins at Death,
mocks the Lord, laughs at himself and leers at the girls. His world is a Jöns world, believable only to
himself, ridiculous to all including himself, meaningless to Heaven and of no

The Heart Of The Body Essay
In mammals, there are many different systems that all work together in the body in order to create life;
one of those systems that holds a great portion of responsibility it the circulation system. In the
circulation systematic, the heart is the main component and worker, which for mammals comes in the
form of a dual pump that moves blood throughout the entire body. While moving blood throughout the
body the heart also helps with oxygenating the blood, by pushing it through the lungs. The heart is
composed of 2 atrial chambers and 2 ventricles, left and right. When blood enters the atrial chambers
it is at low pressure and when it leaves the ventricles it is at high pressure, so that it has the force to be
pushed throughout the body. The general pathway that blood travels is it enters the right atrium, and
then travels to the right ventricle where it is forced into the lungs to be oxygenated. The blood then
leaves the lungs and travels back to the left atrium, and then it goes to the left ventricle where it is then
forces to the rest of the body. There are several different factors that play a role in the overall rate that
the heart beats, such as central nervous system, more specifically the parasympathetic and sympathetic
nerves, and the pacemaker cells. The pacemaker cells, also referred to as sinoatrial node, which sends
out action potentials that contract the ventricles and spreads to the atrioventricular node to lead to the
contraction of the atrium. Electrical

The Broken Windows, Zero Tolerance, And Problem Oriented...
The purpose of this paper is to analyze and discuss the three different policing strategies known as,
broken windows, zero tolerance, and problem oriented policing. Each of these strategies have both
their pros and cons throughout this paper I will be describing each of these strategies along with
discussing a few articles in relation to these strategies. In light of the recent tension between law
enforcement and the community, specifically minorities ill also be discussing how these strategies
have either helped or hurt communities. The broken windows theory, originally pioneered by James Q.
Wilson and George L. Kelling argues that a broken window is a sign that no one cares about the
appearance of the property. This proverbial broken window in turn encourages other residents to
neglect their property. This further sends the entire neighborhood into a downward spiral, we begin to
see large amounts of litter scattered throughout the neighborhood, home owners move out, houses
become vacant and left to deteriorate, rental properties begin to spring up, and single family homes are
turned into multifamily homes. As the income of residents decreases so does the property value of the
neighborhood, and gradually a criminal element begins to establish itself within the neighborhood.
Zero tolerance policing holds that strict non discretionary law enforcement that is tough on crime,
specifically minor offenses will decrease more serious crime. This policing style is closely related

own country, and they anchor their ships on the River Volga where they build large wooden houses. In
every house lives ten to twenty people, give or take. When a poor Viking dies, they build him a boat,

When the day comes where the two are supposed to be consumed in flames, the dead Viking s ship is
drawn ashore. People bring a couch and place it on the ship, and they cover it with Greek gold cloth,
and pillows of the same material. Then an old crone came, who was called the Angel of Death. She
played a part in the sewing of the garments, all of the equipment needed for the funeral, and the most
important part, the slaying of the girl who agreed to die with her master. Near him in the grave they
had placed strong drinks, and fruits. They now clothed him in drawers, leggings, boots, and a kurtak
and chaftan of cloth of gold, with gold buttons, placing on the head a cap made of cloth of gold,
trimmed with sable. The Viking was dressed very well, to honor and respect him. That is something
that society today can relate too, since we dress our dead in suits and other things to respect their
passing. After the dressing they finally carried him and placed him in the ship. Pillows, and, bringing
of strong fruits, and basil, placed them all beside him. Then they brought a dog, which they in two,
and threw into the ship... They also laid all his weapons beside him, and two horses and two ox s as
well were cut up and put on the ship to burn with the Viking and the girl. The funeral of the Viking is
very sacrificial, they sacrifice not only humans, but countless animals as well. This is found in many
cultures and is usually a sacrifice to the God(s) for countless

The tropic hormone stimulates an endocrine gland to grow and secrete it s hormones. They are
secreted by the adenohypophysis (anterior pituitary gland) (Taylor, 2016). Examples are FSH follicle
stimulating hormones which help the female ovaries to mature and to ovulate. Adrenocorticotropic
hormone (ACTH) stimulates the adrenal cortex and secretes cortisol (Taylor, 2016).
Compare the intercellular (cell to cell) communications of the endocrine and nervous systems Which
is the most effective and why? Please explain by providing specific examples to support your choice.
The nervous system and endocrine systems both work to maintain a constant internal environment,
while also being able to respond and adapt to external events (Boundless, 2016).
By sending electrical action potentials along neurons, the nervous system responds fast to stimuli.

The nervous system reacts quickly to stimuli by sending electrical action potential to stimuli by the
nervous system is near instantaneous but the effects are normally short lived. An example is the the
recoil mechanism of an arm when touching something hot (Boundless, 2016). The endocrine system
depends on hormones to obtain responses from target calls. These hormones are produced in
specialized glands at a distance from the target, hormones can influence cellular responses at a protein
or genetic level. This process takes quite a while longer then that of the nervous system. Endocrine
hormones must first be synthesized, then transported to their target cells and either enters or signals
the cell. Since these hormones act much slower their effects are usually longer lasting . An example is
the growth hormone that is secreted by pituitary gland. The pituitary gland is responsible growth

Persuasive Speech About Kilimanjaro
Scaling the Mighty Kilimanjaro for Clean Water
If today I told you that I have climbed Africa s highest mountain on my hands and wheelchair, and
actually got to the top, chances are, you would not believe me. I wouldn t blame you though. Even I
did not think I could do it. At least not with my condition, I have no legs from the pelvis down due to a
genetic ailment.
But I have! Four years ago, alongside my best mates, David and Alex, I actually climbed Mt.
Kilimanjaro to the very top. In so doing, we raised close to four hundred thousand pounds for
provision of clean water for the locals. You may wonder how this was made possible. Well, I will tell
you how.

Year Round School Research Paper
Jazlyn
Roberts
Argumentative Essay
Year round schools operate 180 days a year just like a traditional school calendar. The difference
between year round schooling and a traditional school schedule is that there are small breaks in
between instead of a 3 month summer vacation. School systems should not transition to year round
schooling because of costs, parents and students perspective, and lack of educational benefits.
School systems should not transition to year round schooling because of costs. According to ESUUS,
Multitrack year round schools have noticed additional demands on school support staff and on
cafeteria, custodial, and maintenance services . This shows that having a year round school system
will have more stress to provide services that the school s needs which will overall cost more.

Biomechanics of Surfing Essay
How do biomechanical understandings influence the learning of and performance in surfing?
Problem:
The problem with my surfing is my paddling technique.
Understanding the fundamental relationships in mechanics, helps form a foundation for the analysis of
human movement in surfing. The main principle or law of motion I am going to look into is Newton s
Law of Action and Reaction. This law of motion is mainly applied when paddling. It helps me
understand how the application of force to my arm and hand determines the speed and movement of
my surfboard and this allows such movement to become more efficient.
The most important skill in surfing is learning the correct paddling technique. A good paddler catches

2010).
The angle of entry of the hand is important in improving drag force and propulsion. This is because
the hand controls entry into the water and flow of water over the hand. Drag propulsion can be used
effectively to improve my paddling technique, by making my strokes longer and larger, similar to the
S stroke. Instead of them being short and wide, causing little propulsion because of this propulsion
principle.
Lift force:
Definition: Lift force is due to the development of high pressure under the hand and low pressure
above it when the hand is pitched to the water at 40° (Amezdroz, et al,. 2010).
In surfing, water streams past the hand and can cause what s called lift force. Lift force can only be
created when I my hand is a curved surfaces designed, which gives the best ratio of lift to drag. When
the water passes over the hand onto a longer surface area, the water is forced or propelled at a greater
speed than it would when travelling under the hand, similar to my wider paddling technique. The lift
force is in the opposite direction of the force, this gives a surfer greater traction against the water, to
catch a wave (Amezdroz, et al,. 2010).
To achieve best lift force, the hand should be angled at 40° to the water. The lift force will be evenly

Competitive Strategy Of Aldi

supermarket giants. The strategic industry analysis and competition in the market is due to the factors
including product development, supply chain factors along with pricing. The competition in the
industry is aggressive and to maintain the market share everyday new strategies are being
implemented. The competitive landscape impacts the market and therefore the market share of Coles

from that German supermarket brands such as Lidl and Kaufland presently hold about 8.9% of the

Effects Of Japanese Internment Camps
The Economics of Japanese Internment Camps The internment of Japanese Americans during the
second world war was a dark and shameful time period in American history. In regard to Japanese
internment in the United States, the economic perspective has been largely unexplored with little
research. However, with the little information available, we know of the effects of internment camp
location and the repercussions on generations of Japanese Americans, along with how Japanese
internment has impacted the United States economy and federal budget. Although the United States
first had internment camps in 1940 s, the appearance of internment camps has occurred in different
countries in the past. During World War II, concentration camps were constructed by Nazi Germany to
imprison Jews, communists, and any other threats to Nazi Germany. Conditions in the camps were
horrid, miserable, and inhumane. Prisoners were starved, overworked, beaten, and some were even
part of scientific experiments. This cruel treatment of prisoners resulted in millions of deaths
throughout Europe. However, the erection of these concentration camps also came at a monetary cost
for the German government. The German government spent over $27 billion dollars on not only the
concentration camps and war effort, but also on the reparations to families harmed during the war (
Financial, 1962). The appearance of internment camps during World War II also occurred in Canada.
The Canadian government interned

Fantasy Elements In House Taken Over By Julio Cortazar
It wouldn t do to have some poor devil decide to go in and rob the house, at that hour and with the
house taken over. (Cortazar 42). Fantasy elements like this one are widely utilized and encompassed in
the short story called House Taken Over by author, Julio Cortazar. Cortazar incorporates fantasy in
this magical realism selection into the setting and details incorporated, the way the characters act,
main events and the unimpressed tone also expresses a magical vibe. He entangles this magical theme
into the aspect of realism. Within House Taken Over there is a balanced amount of realistic and
mystical events and features.
The setting and specific details portray magical realism in this short story by Cortazar. The house in
this captivating selection is described in a realistic manner. We liked the house because, apart from its
being old and spacious (in a day where house go down for a profitable auction of their construction
materials), it kept the memories of great grandparents, our paternal grandfather, our parents and the
whole of childhood. (Cortazar 37). This explains the ancient house to be generational and pasted down
to the characters living in it now. The peculiar way the characters live in this house is where the
fantasy element begins. There is a massive oak door separating two parts of the mansion and the
characters really ever go on the other side of it. Another unusual detail in the story is the fact that they
have money piling up, from farms

The History Of GDP Growth Sweden
Economist s Explanation
The article begins with outlining the record of GDP growth Sweden since 2009 and speaks to how
Sweden s current monetary stimulus contrasts with what would typically be expected during a period
of sustained and increasing GDP growth. Typically, following a period of successful loose policy to
stimulate the economy, the central bank would move to increase interest rates and decrease the money
supply, such that money growth is equivalent to GDP growth (in the Classical view) and inflation rises
in a relatively controlled fashion. Increasing interest rates would discourage borrowing and spending
while also encouraging increased saving. Increased rates might also serve to divert funds out of equity
markets and into ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Fed is currently concluding its period of quantitative easing and increasing interest rates thereby
potentially tightening the money supply as borrowing and spending will decrease while savings and
the rate of inflation increases.
The ECB continues its monetary stimulus through quantitative easing buying long term bonds to flood
the economy with money in the hopes of increasing inflation to the ECB target of just shy of 2%
(currently at 1.73% according to the ECB). The article notes the impact that foreign investment can
have on the exchange rate by discussing the Swiss Franc becoming overvalued, in part due to the drop
in oil prices coupled with a failing Russian economy (Revill). This has caused the currency to
appreciate forcing the SNB to take action against the rising exchange rate using quantitative easing to
reduce the upward pressure on the Swiss Franc .
The article also addresses the core reasons why the Riksbank is hesitant to reduce its monetary
stimulus. Swedish economists are acting conservatively with many believing that the increase in
inflation is due increased energy prices and airfares rather than the Riksbank s monetary stimulus.
They believe the rate of inflation would decrease should there be any changes in energy prices or
airfares. Ideally, the rate of inflation would remain from significantly fluctuating due to changes in
economic sectors and

A Research Study On Business Schools
Leveraging research to enhance undergraduate business education
Luke Maass
Northwest Missouri State University
Student involvement in research activities in U.S. business schools used to be primarily offered to
graduate students. However, many universities are now offering undergraduate research opportunities
that can provide students with a deep understanding of the academic environment. Research allows the
exploration and questioning of significant issues in today s world.
This type of learning can provide students with more understanding than can be taught in a classroom
or read in a textbook. Research challenges students to engage in the process of identifying and
evaluating major issues and trends impacting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are many examples of where this is already being implemented. MIT s business school has an
application for their Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP). This program has
students involved in many different research topics such as the competition in telecommunications,
the impact of direct foreign investment on developing economies, and effects of taxes on corporate
decisions. Through these types of research they can connect what is learned in the classroom with real
business challenges. Perhaps making them a bit closer to the real world (Lewis). Teachers are
modifying their traditional ways of textbook teaching in the classroom to make available the ability
for students to develop and research their ideas and or topics. This can be summarized with 3 key
features. The first is context. Learning is efficient when the student has an interest in the topic. It may
be their background or culture that help them determine their subject of research. For example a
student studying International Business may choose a topic like business technology growth in India .
Next is the nature of the student. The student researches and filters information. They actively form

Different Properties Of Polymers That Each Reaction
Discussion The results demonstrated the various properties of polymers that each reaction produced.
For the nylon polymerization, a condensation reaction took place and produced a long, polymer string.
As described in Figure 1, the product was clear and several meters long, and the fibers held together
when stretched. However, when a portion of the nylon string was heated, fibers weakened. The nylon
turned a bright white, and, when the stirring rod was used to move the piece, the string broke in half.
Ultimately, the reaction presented the fact that polymers are sensitive to heat and easily thermally
decompose. In contrast, for the methyl acrylate polymerization, an addition reaction occurred and
produced a soft, white flat wad of polymer substance. The methyl acrylate polymer had the
consistency of chewed gum, but tore easily when stretched. Therefore, the reaction revealed that the
type of reaction (addition or condensation) plays a key role in determining a polymer s properties.
Additionally, the cornstarch experiment also displayed a non Newtonian fluid s features. While the
polymer was subjected to many tests, its unusual properties were observed. It acted like a liquid when
left alone, but it cracked when squeezed. In conclusion, the three experiments demonstrated the
polymer s wide spectrum of properties and a variety of its subgroups. As seen in Figure 3, the percent
yield exceeded one hundred, indicating a source of error. When weighing, the methyl acrylate

Critical Theories Of Criminology
Introduction
In this paper, I will discuss conflict criminology, radical criminology, peacemaking criminology, and
postmodern criminology providing a comparison as well as a contrast to each.
Discussion
There are several theories developing critical theories of criminology, the first discussed in this paper
will be conflict theory (Bohm Vogel, 2011). The conflict theory is the inequality of competing groups,
moreover, the different social statuses of individuals. This theory compares the differences in white
collar crime to the crime of the blue collar class. White collar crime is mostly money related crimes,
including embezzlement, committed by the economically elite, conversely, blue collar crime is
considered more violent as well ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The structure of this societal hierarchy places a few individuals in the higher ranks of society with the
majority within the lower ranks, the proverbial winners as compared to the losers. This theory bases
crime upon the various class struggles to obtain wealth within an unequal economic environment. The
lower class struggles to obtain the same level of material wealth held by those of the higher classes
creating an extremely competitive environment leading to individuals taking advantage of the weaker
members of society to further their own level of wealth. The radical theory defines crime as the
deprivation of basic human rights, as individuals compete for a portion of societal wealth in an
unequally distributed market they become overly competitive with one another leading to what is
described as senseless violence.
The third theory discussed in this paper is the peacemaking criminology, this theory is a non violent
approach to change society through the transformations beginning at the individual level (Bohm
Vogel, 2011). The theorist of peacemaking view suffering as the cause of crime, expressing the need
for a change within society to become for aware of the needs of those less fortunate, moreover,
working together to resolve those issues. This theory views the acts of punishing individuals for
crimes committed as the source for continued criminal acts. A shift from

  • 4. Fayol s Management Principles Introduction The management and organisations discipline considers Henry Fayol (1841 1925) to be one of the early practitioners of management who recognised principles and theories of management. Indeed, current students, teachers and practitioners find Fayol s management principles to be of interest. This is especially the case since numerous management authors (Bose, 2013: Lamond, 2005: Lewis, 2007) have the common belief that Fayol s effort founded the elementary framework and principles for management theory currently being applied. Fayol dedicated a lot of time to endorsing the theory of administration and throughout this time argued that all business activities precipitate undertakings which are classified into six groups: financial, commercial, technical, accounting security, and management (Lamond, 2005). While focusing on the management aspect, Fayol considered it to be a systematic arrangement and integration of the financial, accounting, production, and sales functions of the organisation. Hence, the purpose of Fayol s management theory was a way of establishing management as a different aspect from other technical activities, however, important to the integration of various organisational activities in order to realise a common objective. In that respect, Parker Ritson, 2005 posit that Fayol s management principles offered and continue to offer an overall management outlook for practising managers as well as an instructional manual for academicians in the management discipline. The objective of this report is to therefore critically discuss Fayol s perspectives through an analysis of these views as well as other ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Due to the lack of impressive presentation and theatre skills, my confidence was going lower with every opportunity to present our ideas. After the meetings I was left with the feeling of letting down myself and the entire group who have trusted me to showcase the group s achievements. • 8. The Human Personification Of The Enlightenment Period Essay Throughout much of the history of civilizations, states have declared war for land, valuables, and resources. In the course of the mid 20th century and the 21st century, ascendant super powers have invaded foreign lands for resources such as oil, and weapons companies have profited from the ongoing cycle of war these super powers promote. The populations of these states have been fed lies vis à vis the media; propagandizing these rogue nations and promoting an Us vs. Them mentality, to garner support for these armed conflicts. War is our primordial instinct, as humans are territorial and aggressive. That is our nature, and by looking at events in our history, one may see that war appears to be timeless and inevitable. War as defined by Webster s Dictionary is a state of open and declared, hostile armed conflict between states or nations. Voltaire the human personification of the Enlightenment period says the following: Famine, plague, and war are the three most famous ingredients of this wretched world...All animals are perpetually at war with each other...Air, earth and water are arenas of destruction. Defining war has been a political issue for centuries, and it poses a philosophical problem. Most philosophers will agree on war being a clash of arms, or a state of mutual tension between nations or states, distinguishing it from open rebellions, riots, and personal violence. Immanuel Kant, like many philosophers, has a negative conception of mankind on the subject of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 10. The Announcement From A 1 Holdings Company The announcement from A 1 Holdings Company for a hostile takeover made National Brands management worried. The CEO of the National Brand, Bill Hall, the chief operating officer, Tom Straw, the chief financial officer, Doris Faraday, and Stan Lindner from public relation all sat down and discussed on this particular problem. So far, A 1 Holdings had already bought 5 percent of National Brand s outstanding shares and made offer for the rest at 7 1/8 over market, which was $55 per share. For Bill Hall, the head of A 1 Holdings, Kelly O Brien was a bad guy who might just want to take over the company and make his employees miserable. Tom Straw then suggested the poison pill approach to defense the takeover but the idea was doubted by Stan because it did not seem good for the company. Doris, after working with her numbers, proposed her Pac Man defense idea. The Pac Man defense approach meant making counter offer to buy A 1 Holdings at $17 a share. She believed with National Brands strong financial position, it is highly possible that this defense would work. Bill agreed with this idea and started to have his people working on analyzing the details of this approach. The analysis started with A 1 Holdings ability to buy all the rest 95 percent of National Brands. This 95 percent equaled 107,958,000 shares outstanding, and at the offer of $55 per share, A 1 Holdings would need the equivalent of $5,937,690,000 in cash to be able to take over National Brands. • 11. Writers Face Censorship In Persian Letters By Montesquieu... Writers Face Censorship Most, but not all, government and church authorities felt they had a sacred duty to defend the old order. They believed that God had set up the old order. To protect against the attacks of the Enlightenment, they waged a war of censorship, or restricting access to ideas and information. They banned and burned books and imprisoned writers. To avoid censorship, philosophes and writers like Montesquieu and Voltaire sometimes disguised their ideas in works of fiction. In the Persian Letters, Montesquieu used two fictional Persian travelers, named Usbek and Rica, to mock French society. Economics Essay Telephone Masts Using the information in the data and your own economic knowledge, evaluate the economic case for and against governments attempting to influence how mobile phones are manufactured and used. (25) The government should intervene in the mobile phone market to correct market failure due to the presence of negative externalities. Negative externalities are detrimental third party effects caused by the production and/or consumption of a good. A public good is a good provided free of charge to the consumer, by the government. Imperfect knowledge occurs when either the consumer or the producer know more than the other about the externalities that occur due to the production or consumption of a good. A government can use persuasion techniques to correct imperfect knowledge on the part of the consumer. Ways in which the government can do this include educational advertising and changes to the national curriculum to impart views the government deems will correct imperfect knowledge. It is argued that the production of mobile phones exerts negative externalities on the Asian employees of the mobile phone (Extract E, Line 16). An example of a negative externality on the Asian workers is that of low wages paid by Western firms to employees in poorer, foreign countries. If the government s policy of persuasion was successful, demand for mobile phones produced by firms that incur low costs by paying lower wages should decrease (See Figure 2). This would decrease the quantity consumed of low cost mobile phones, and reduce the negative externality of an inequality in the distribution of wealth and incomes, present in the production of low cost mobile phones. If persuasion was successful, it would also provide incentive to firms that produce mobile phones to increase wages and lower negative externalities, as demand would be higher in the market for mobile phones produced with ... Optical And Electrical Properties Of Pva Ag ABSTRACT In the present work, PVAAg nanocomposite films with thickness 0.18 mm, constant silver content (0.4 wt. %) and different time of reactions (0.1, 3, 5, 7, 9 h) were prepared by chemical reduction methods. Surface topology, optical and electrical properties of PVAAg nanocomposite were studied using absorption spectroscopy, electrometer, atomic force microscope (AFM) and photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy were used to characterize the prepared nanocomposites. Optical absorption coefficient studies showed a peak at 427 nm for all samples, in addition to the peak at 200 nm for undoped PVA film. There is observable change in the absorbed intensity at 427 nm with the time of reaction. The refractive index was found increase with increasing the time of reaction. It was found that the root mean square (RMS) roughness. Frank poole emission is the prevailing transport mechanism for all samples. While PL intensity at 427 nm increase as the time of reaction is increased. Keywords: UV Vis spectroscopy, electrical properties, polyvinyl alcohol. Correspondence to: A.G. Virginia Woolf s Of Human Bondage Of Human Bondage is, as we all know, written from Philip s point of view, and therefore we sympathize with Philip, care about what goes on his life, and even feel attached to him. But, if the story had been written from say, Mildred s point of view, we may not feet the same about Philip. Chances are, his characterization would be completely different because of how Mildred views him, and we would probably grow to dislike Philip as much as we learned to dislike Mildred. While we would still, most likely, see the faults in Mildred, the way we did with Philip, we would probably think of them in a kinder way. After all, we all disliked Mildred when she left Philip, who clearly loved her, to be with the German man. Yet, is that not what Philip did do Nora, who really did love him? The two characters have many similarities, yet we view one as good, and one as bad. Both raised by people other than their parents, both concerned with money, both easily distracted, both in love just, not necessarily with each other. There was even a scene where Block asked the woman accused of having contact with the devil to summon the devil so that Block will be able to ask about the about the existence of God. Block was not able to see anything. As it turns out, the woman was falsely accused by the priest. Block came to a point where he asked the existence of God when he confesses to Death, disguised as a priest but Death himself did not give answers to this. Perhaps he was pertaining to his search for the existence of God. Aside from Block, a more existential character than him is introduced his squire, Jöns. In Jöns conversation with the painter in the church, he mentioned that, This is squire Jöns. He grins at Death, mocks the Lord, laughs at himself and leers at the girls. • 17. The Heart Of The Body Essay In mammals, there are many different systems that all work together in the body in order to create life; one of those systems that holds a great portion of responsibility it the circulation system. In the circulation systematic, the heart is the main component and worker, which for mammals comes in the form of a dual pump that moves blood throughout the entire body. While moving blood throughout the body the heart also helps with oxygenating the blood, by pushing it through the lungs. The heart is composed of 2 atrial chambers and 2 ventricles, left and right. When blood enters the atrial chambers it is at low pressure and when it leaves the ventricles it is at high pressure, so that it has the force to be pushed throughout the body. The general pathway that blood travels is it enters the right atrium, and then travels to the right ventricle where it is forced into the lungs to be oxygenated. The blood then leaves the lungs and travels back to the left atrium, and then it goes to the left ventricle where it is then forces to the rest of the body. There are several different factors that play a role in the overall rate that the heart beats, such as central nervous system, more specifically the parasympathetic and sympathetic nerves, and the pacemaker cells. The pacemaker cells, also referred to as sinoatrial node, which sends out action potentials that contract the ventricles and spreads to the atrioventricular node to lead to the contraction of the atrium. The purpose of this paper is to analyze and discuss the three different policing strategies known as, broken windows, zero tolerance, and problem oriented policing. Each of these strategies have both their pros and cons throughout this paper I will be describing each of these strategies along with discussing a few articles in relation to these strategies. In light of the recent tension between law enforcement and the community, specifically minorities ill also be discussing how these strategies have either helped or hurt communities. The broken windows theory, originally pioneered by James Q. Wilson and George L. Kelling argues that a broken window is a sign that no one cares about the appearance of the property. This proverbial broken window in turn encourages other residents to neglect their property. This further sends the entire neighborhood into a downward spiral, we begin to see large amounts of litter scattered throughout the neighborhood, home owners move out, houses become vacant and left to deteriorate, rental properties begin to spring up, and single family homes are turned into multifamily homes. As the income of residents decreases so does the property value of the neighborhood, and gradually a criminal element begins to establish itself within the neighborhood. Zero tolerance policing holds that strict non discretionary law enforcement that is tough on crime, specifically minor offenses will decrease more serious crime. We avoided each other as much as possible (Yang 31). Embarrassment clouds Jin as he realizes that he s not like the other kids in his class. With distinct features and his native tongue, Jin felt like a reject surrounded by his Caucasian classmates. He was entirely alone amongst his peers, and he didn t like that one single bit. In this way, it s clear how both Junior and Jin felt like outcasts in these two oceans of white students and teachers. *** Acknowledged in both novels, Junior and Jin s spontaneous actions leave them both friendless and bruised. In Junior s case, this meant ditching the reservation s schooling system and finding one that surpasses the education he was taught. In the spur of the moment, Junior decides to do just that and attend an all white school in the neighboring town. Getting the courage to tell his best friend, Junior braces himself for Rowdy s reaction. Denial embedded his friend s senses; remoteness then trickled its way through his head ... • 35. The History Of GDP Growth Sweden Economist s Explanation The article begins with outlining the record of GDP growth Sweden since 2009 and speaks to how Sweden s current monetary stimulus contrasts with what would typically be expected during a period of sustained and increasing GDP growth. Typically, following a period of successful loose policy to stimulate the economy, the central bank would move to increase interest rates and decrease the money supply, such that money growth is equivalent to GDP growth (in the Classical view) and inflation rises in a relatively controlled fashion. Increasing interest rates would discourage borrowing and spending while also encouraging increased saving. Increased rates might also serve to divert funds out of equity markets and into ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Fed is currently concluding its period of quantitative easing and increasing interest rates thereby potentially tightening the money supply as borrowing and spending will decrease while savings and the rate of inflation increases. The ECB continues its monetary stimulus through quantitative easing buying long term bonds to flood the economy with money in the hopes of increasing inflation to the ECB target of just shy of 2% (currently at 1.73% according to the ECB). The article notes the impact that foreign investment can have on the exchange rate by discussing the Swiss Franc becoming overvalued, in part due to the drop in oil prices coupled with a failing Russian economy (Revill). This has caused the currency to appreciate forcing the SNB to take action against the rising exchange rate using quantitative easing to reduce the upward pressure on the Swiss Franc . The article also addresses the core reasons why the Riksbank is hesitant to reduce its monetary stimulus. Swedish economists are acting conservatively with many believing that the increase in inflation is due increased energy prices and airfares rather than the Riksbank s monetary stimulus. They believe the rate of inflation would decrease should there be any changes in energy prices or airfares. Ideally, the rate of inflation would remain from significantly fluctuating due to changes in economic sectors and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. A Research Study On Business Schools Leveraging research to enhance undergraduate business education Luke Maass Northwest Missouri State University Student involvement in research activities in U.S. business schools used to be primarily offered to graduate students. However, many universities are now offering undergraduate research opportunities that can provide students with a deep understanding of the academic environment. Research allows the exploration and questioning of significant issues in today s world. This type of learning can provide students with more understanding than can be taught in a classroom or read in a textbook. Research challenges students to engage in the process of identifying and evaluating major issues and trends impacting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are many examples of where this is already being implemented. MIT s business school has an application for their Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP). This program has students involved in many different research topics such as the competition in telecommunications, the impact of direct foreign investment on developing economies, and effects of taxes on corporate decisions. Through these types of research they can connect what is learned in the classroom with real business challenges. Perhaps making them a bit closer to the real world (Lewis). Teachers are modifying their traditional ways of textbook teaching in the classroom to make available the ability for students to develop and research their ideas and or topics. This can be summarized with 3 key features. The first is context. Learning is efficient when the student has an interest in the topic. It may be their background or culture that help them determine their subject of research. For example a student studying International Business may choose a topic like business technology growth in India . Next is the nature of the student. The student researches and filters information. They actively form and articulate their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 37. Different Properties Of Polymers That Each Reaction Discussion The results demonstrated the various properties of polymers that each reaction produced. For the nylon polymerization, a condensation reaction took place and produced a long, polymer string. As described in Figure 1, the product was clear and several meters long, and the fibers held together when stretched. However, when a portion of the nylon string was heated, fibers weakened. The nylon turned a bright white, and, when the stirring rod was used to move the piece, the string broke in half. Ultimately, the reaction presented the fact that polymers are sensitive to heat and easily thermally decompose. In contrast, for the methyl acrylate polymerization, an addition reaction occurred and produced a soft, white flat wad of polymer substance. The methyl acrylate polymer had the consistency of chewed gum, but tore easily when stretched. Therefore, the reaction revealed that the type of reaction (addition or condensation) plays a key role in determining a polymer s properties. Additionally, the cornstarch experiment also displayed a non Newtonian fluid s features. While the polymer was subjected to many tests, its unusual properties were observed. It acted like a liquid when left alone, but it cracked when squeezed. In conclusion, the three experiments demonstrated the polymer s wide spectrum of properties and a variety of its subgroups. As seen in Figure 3, the percent yield exceeded one hundred, indicating a source of error. When weighing, the methyl acrylate ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. Critical Theories Of Criminology Introduction In this paper, I will discuss conflict criminology, radical criminology, peacemaking criminology, and postmodern criminology providing a comparison as well as a contrast to each. Discussion There are several theories developing critical theories of criminology, the first discussed in this paper will be conflict theory (Bohm Vogel, 2011). The conflict theory is the inequality of competing groups, moreover, the different social statuses of individuals. This theory compares the differences in white collar crime to the crime of the blue collar class. White collar crime is mostly money related crimes, including embezzlement, committed by the economically elite, conversely, blue collar crime is considered more violent as well ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The structure of this societal hierarchy places a few individuals in the higher ranks of society with the majority within the lower ranks, the proverbial winners as compared to the losers. This theory bases crime upon the various class struggles to obtain wealth within an unequal economic environment. The lower class struggles to obtain the same level of material wealth held by those of the higher classes creating an extremely competitive environment leading to individuals taking advantage of the weaker members of society to further their own level of wealth. The radical theory defines crime as the deprivation of basic human rights, as individuals compete for a portion of societal wealth in an unequally distributed market they become overly competitive with one another leading to what is described as senseless violence. The third theory discussed in this paper is the peacemaking criminology, this theory is a non violent approach to change society through the transformations beginning at the individual level (Bohm Vogel, 2011). The theorist of peacemaking view suffering as the cause of crime, expressing the need for a change within society to become for aware of the needs of those less fortunate, moreover, working together to resolve those issues. This theory views the acts of punishing individuals for crimes committed as the source for continued criminal acts. A shift from ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
