Human Genome ProjectA genome is the complete collection of an organism s genetic
material. The human genome is composed of about 20,000 to 25,000 genes located
on the 23 pairs of chromosomes in a human cell (Tortora, Funke, Case, 2016).
According to the Human Genome Project (2000), A single human chromosome may
contain more than 250 million DNAbase pairs, and it is estimated that the entire
human genomeconsists of about 3 billion base pairs. Now that we have identified
what a genome is, we will now examine the Human Genome Project. The Human
Genome Project (HGP) is a project that began in October of 1990 (Tortora, Funke,
Case, 2016). The HGP lasted for 13 years, so the end of the project was in 2003.
Mapping the entire human DNA sequence was the main purpose of the program
(Tortora, Funke, Case, 2016). Associating specific human traits and inborn diseases
with genes at exact locations on the chromosomes was the goal of genomic mapping
and sequencing (HGP, 2000). Figure 1 below shows the timeline through which the
Human Genome Project got completed. In 1990, the project commenced along with
the Ethical, legal and social implication program (ELSI). Fast forwarding to 1995,
where the human physical mapping goal was achieved. Then in 1999, the sequence
of the first human chromosome was completed. Finally, in 2003, the project was
completed.

an increasingly recognized complication of liver cirrhosis. It is associated with
worsening liver function, ascites and the occurrence of gastroesophageal variceal
bleeding. The aim of this work was to clarify the risk factors, clinical presentation
and complications of portal vein thrombosis in Egyptian patients with liver
cirrhosis and to study the outcome with and without treatment after 6 months
follow up period. Methods: Hospitalized cirrhotic patients (N = 80) were
segregated into the PVT and non PVT groups. PVT was detected by Doppler
ultrasonography; each group was divided in two sub groups (A and B) according to
presence or absence of HCC respectively. The 2 groups were compared as regards
risk factors, clinical presentation and complications. The outcome of treatment with
anticoagulation in 6 patients was evaluated. Result: PVT developed as result of
combination of both local and systemic risk factors. HCC, abdominal infection
especially spontaneous bacterial peritonitis and abdominal intervention were the most
important local risk factors. Abnormalities of coagulation system were among
systemic risk factors. Most of cases were asymptomatic and accidentally discovered,

Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) is an anxiety disorder characterized by an
individual experiencing intrusive thoughts, images, or worries in addition to

recorded as the seventh wealthiest person to ever live on Earth. Rockefeller used his
huge amount of money to donate to many various philanthropic causes. He started
his oil company in 1870 buying out many other competitors along the way. By 1882,
Rockefeller had a monopoly and had control over 90% of the United States oil
refineries.
John Davison Rockefeller was born in Richford, New York on July 8, 1839. His
family moved to Cleveland, Ohio when he was 14. As a teenager, Rockefeller did
many small business jobs, getting his first office job at 16 as an assistant
bookkeeper at Hewitt and Tuttle, who were merchants and produce shippers. He
did well as all of his jobs, so at the age of 20, a business partner and he started
working as merchants, selling meats, grains, hay, and other various things. After
just one year, that company earned 450,000 dollars. Rockefeller felt there was a
good opportunity in the oil business in the early 1860 s. So, he started his own oil

controlled most of the refineries in Cleveland. Then, they started to make deals with
railroads to ship their oil and they started purchasing terminals and pipelines to handle

plots of land for drilling and for lumber. By doing this, they started owning every part

become a strong agent in directing and controlling social beliefs and behaviors.
Children, by nature, can be particularly susceptible to the influencing powers of the

Her troubling presence was simply cropped out of the movie even though you can
still see the Aryans she used to pamper. Eliminating Sunflower from the movie may
have been intended as harmless and as an attempt to be politically correct; however,
it is cinematic decisions such as this that contributed to Disney s reputation of being
insensitive to issues of race. It was insulting enough for Disney to include the smiling
servant stereotype to begin with, but to make matters worse, they started denying
Sunflower s existence with the Fantasia re release in 1960. How does that possibly
make things better? A few angered African Americancommunities said, No, you

deny it, trivialize it, gloss over it with pretty distractions and wishful thinking. Doing
