Essay On Vacations
Writing an essay on the topic of vacations may initially seem like a straightforward task, as
vacations are often associated with relaxation, leisure, and enjoyable experiences. However,
delving into the intricacies of this subject can pose some challenges.
Firstly, the topic of vacations is broad and multifaceted. There are various types of vacations,
ranging from adventurous trips to serene getaways, each requiring a different approach in terms
of content and tone. The writer needs to decide whether to focus on personal experiences,
general observations, or a combination of both.
Additionally, striking the right balance between personal anecdotes and broader insights can be
challenging. While incorporating personal experiences adds authenticity and a human touch to
the essay, it is crucial to avoid excessive self-indulgence and ensure that the essay remains
relatable to a wider audience.
Furthermore, maintaining coherence throughout the essay can be tricky. Juggling between
different aspects of vacations, such as planning, destination choices, cultural experiences, and
the emotional impact of a break, requires careful organization to prevent the essay from
becoming disjointed.
The challenge also lies in avoiding clichГ©s and presenting a unique perspective. Vacations are a
popular topic, and it's easy to fall into the trap of using overused phrases and ideas. Finding a
fresh angle or offering a unique take on the subject requires creativity and originality.
Finally, crafting an engaging introduction and conclusion that capture the reader's attention and
leave a lasting impression can be demanding. The introduction should set the tone and context,
while the conclusion should provide a satisfying resolution and possibly connect the essay to
broader themes or reflections.
In conclusion, while writing an essay on vacations may seem deceptively simple, the task
involves navigating through various elements, including personal experiences, thematic
coherence, originality, and effective structure. It demands a balance between the specific and the
universal, making it a writing challenge that requires careful consideration and creativity.

The Six Different Stages Of Group Development
Group development can be defined as a group of people work together. Group
members are interdependent. In other words, they build as a team to accomplish
goals. Again, it is known as team building. It is frameworks to recognize behavioral
patterns of team and understand causes of changes. Furthermore, group development
helps team to increase productivity. There are six different stages of group
development such as formation of group, initial stage, transition stage, working stage,
final stage and follow up stage.
2.1FORMATION OF GROUP First stage of group development is formation of
group. In this stage, group members feel delighted to join the group. It means they
are eager to be part of the team. On the other hand, they are worried of how to adapt
themselves in new environment. But, it is compulsory for them to gather together.
Therefore, forming of group is available when they first meet. From there, they build
trust between each other. This is to let them feel they are part of group members.
There are few steps to form a group such as developing rationale, deciding theoretical
format, practical considerations, group publicizing, select group leaders and ... Show

This is because they know strengths and weaknesses of each other, willing to share
and exchange personal matters as well as group process. And, they have their own
roles and responsibilities. In this stage, it will be an advantage to know the
differences among members. When they know each other well, it enhances group
performance. Group members must have both high competence and mission. It
makes significant progress towards the goals. On the other hand, group leader
should provide group members chances to receive feedback of how the group is
doing. Through proper feedback, it brings self confidence to them. Last but not least,
group members must have enough time to achieve its work and overall
Exploring the Concept of Satire in A Modest Proposal by...
A Modest Proposal by Jonathan Swift, and Top of the Food Chain by T.
Coraghessan Boyle, both are short stories that explore the concept of satire. Satire
can be defined as a kind of writing that ridicules human weakness, vice, of folly in
order to bring about social reform. It is a kind of writing to bring about change to
society. Even though both are short stories, they easily get the faults of society
across to its readers. In A Modest Proposal, Swift is offering an outrageous solution
to the problems of human misery. He proposes that people should start eating
babies, and using them for everything that they are worth on a daily basis. Swift
creates a pamphlet and states six reasons as to why this is a brilliant idea. He states
that money wouldn t be wasted on food, the number of Catholics would be
reduced, it would be great inducement to marriages, there would be more food so
the economy would increase, poor tenants would have money for their landlords,
and it would be an improvement for the tavern business. Swift wants everyone to
know how badly the Irish people are being treated by the English. He wants to
change the reader s point of view through this sarcastic satirical pamphlet. The
authors purpose of A Modest Proposal, is to try to change society. Swift is trying to
reform the British official s involvement in Ireland. People are dying, and nothing is
being done about it. He is trying to shock readers with a twisted story, but also bring
about change

An Analysis Of The Aleph By Jorge Luis Borges
Enkhmend Delgertsoo Brent Bellamy English 124 25 February, 2015 l The Aleph
analysis The Aleph is a short story by Jorge Luis Borges. According to the story,
The Aleph is the first letter of the Hebrew alphabet, it is also said that it takes the
shape of a man pointing to both heaven and earth, in order to show that the lower
world is the map and mirror of the higher, it is the symbol of transfinite numbers, of
which any part is as great as the whole. (Borges,1945). The author, narrator, tried to
expand all of our points of view. In this short story, he tried to contain the whole
universe. The author seems to give a chance to see what the author sees and his show
to readers his universe. In the short story, author used new criticism and narratology.

Readers may find difficulties in identifying what the story is about at the first place
and the images created by the author does not illustrate centralizing conception. On
the other hand, author used ambiguity which is new criticism and seems tried to
give the idea of looking through the glass from the other side. Complexity is in
great extent in the story, especially when the writer switches and focuses on Carlos
Argentino describing him as an unimpressive and an authoritative individual,
therefore this leaves the reader in a confusion state as the essay tries to combine
different issues in one understanding (Borges, 1945). The author seems to turn his
attention to Carlos as he tries and the reader feels no underpinning or interlocking
of the meaning reinforcing the paraphrase expected to be made also the association
of the properties in the essay sounds complex for one to comprehend. The most
impressive part of the story is ironic how the author views Daneri s work; he
suggests that the work did not lay in poetry but in his invention of reasons for

The Mcdonalds Chain Of Restaurants In The Mcdonald s
Zamira Ishmukhametova, ESL 140, first draft (Ms.Priestley)
Why did the McDonald s chain of restaurants become so popular?
I am very glad that I picked this topic, it is very interesting and exciting for me to
write about McDonald s chain of restaurants and why did it become so popular in the
USA. In the 1940s two brothers, Richard and Maurice MacDonalds opened their
restaurant in California. They named it after their last name McDonald s. A lot of
people from all over the country moved to California. People moved there to have
a better life. It was unusually a lot of vehicles in California, people loved driving
vehicles. It was very popular to have it back then. So, two brothers, McDonald s
came up with the plan to open their own drive in restaurant in California. Richard
and Mac opened their first drive in restaurant in 1937 in Pasadena. They mostly
were selling hot dogs, they did not have a lot of employees to run the business.
Later they moved to San Bernardino, California to expand their business, which was
located next to the high school. What I think brought them a big popularity and the
place became more successful and busy and made Richard and Mac rich people.
After a while the McDonalds owners start having a bad experience with their
restaurant, the silverware starts missing, people simply did not return the wares. The
McDonalds brothers were not happy with teenage customers because they were
making a lot of noise in the parking lot. Richard
Mary s Role In Religion
Imagine yourself as a young girl of only twelve and on a cold night in Nazareth, an
angel from God appears and asks you a question that would change the rest of your
life. This is exactly what had happened to Mary. She had a choice to answer yes or
no and she chose the hardest path. Mary is important in history because she was the
accepted God s invitation to be the mother of Jesus, and devoted her life to God. She
also raised, taught, and influenced our Savior. Marywas born in circa 20 B.C. in
Nazareth, Israel. There was no exact month or date that she was born, but the
Catholic Church celebrates her birthday on the eighth of September. Mary also had a
very loving and caring family. Her parents encouraged her and taught her that her

a string of beads that are used to count prayers to Mary. It was originally a garland

Police Officers And Officers Police And Corrections Officers
If My Mind Could Forget the Things My Eyes Have Seen Abuse by police officers
and officers in penal institutions is a big subject in the media now. Turn to a news
station and the chances of seeing at least on case are pretty high. The most unreported
incidents, however, is actually assault on police officers and correctionsofficers. The
media does not report these issues nearly as much as it tries to portray officer
assault on criminals. Why is it that the media covers up the big issue of officer
assault and reports the innocent criminals being assaulted? When the media is
trying to scare someone they don t say criminals are bad, instead, make it seem like
the selfless officers risking their lives are the bad guys and use it as a scare tactic to
create distrust and panic in the public. Abuse falls under six definitions when applied
to law enforcement. Physical abuse: The blatant beating, striking, or physical
mistreatment of an inmate. This is a very vague area because any physical contact
with an inmate can be reported as abuse. Psychological abuse: The mental
degradation of an inmate through embarrassment, unnecessary command or criticism.
Unlawful interrogation, which is literally unheard of anymore, means the use of
starvation, sleep deprivation, dehydration, etc. Excessive force: When compliance
must be obtained physically and the amount of force used far exceeds the need.
Torture: the use of stress positions water boarding and hot boxing, also
A Window Of Your Dreams
A Window To Your Dreams
In J.M. Barrie s classic children s story Peter Pan, a young boy named Peter takes
three children on the adventure of their dreams in a faraway place called
Neverland. The story, revolving around how all children, except one, grow up (1)
takes the reader back to mindsets of children and their elaborate fantasies that might
actually be true if they could only remember. With sword fights between pirates,
fairy dust, flying away from home right out the window and death being only an
awfully big adventure (113), not many can see how they would ever forget such a
place, but by keeping their windows open and unlocked, any child can enter
Neverland through their dreams. Barrie s use of the window isn t simply an
entrance or exit way for Peter, it represents the blurred line between a child s
dreams and reality, how the trust of a mother s love can be the best form of hope,
and how every child should cherish their years of youth and innocence when they can
fly to Neverland and not be brought down by age.
According to Barrie s Peter Pan, every child s mind flies into their own personal
Neverland at night, and sometimes, the lands can be breached when a window is
open. Children have a way to keep this window open for the possibility of their
dreams to come true, while adult s windows are kept shut due to age and therefore,
losing the ability to travel to their Neverland. Every child s mind has access to a map
consisting of zigzag lines...probably roads in
Niccolo Machiavelli Humanism
The man chosen for this paper will be no one than Niccolo Machiavelli.
Machiavelli was a many things during this life such as a politician, humanist, a
writer, but most important he was the founder of modern ideas on who we look at
politics and day to day situations. Machiavelli was born May 3 1469 in Italy. He
was born during a important era in Europe called the Renaissance era were art, and
humanism began to flourish. Machiavelli had other idea as giving in depth look
how rulers and states must take control of their people in order to maintain power.
He would go on to write one of the most important book still use today by many
business, law schools, universities, politicians , rebels, and even criminals known as
The Prince. Machiavellianism was a term to describe to be immoral behavior and
can be seen as a negative in cases. He laid out the blue print in The Prince for future
rulers and governments how he thought once have to act in other to be set part from
being a ruler to being a great ruler.
The book The Prince brought a different outlook on political stands but one of the
most important one is one about how it is better to be feared. In The Prince
Machiavelli would go on to write, It is better to be feared than loved, if you cannot be
both . This quote can be looked at different ways but he point comes off as be a
strong ruler and show no compassion. Machiavelli would go on and even give an
example of Cesare Borgia. Borgia was the man who restores Romagna by being
Gender Roles In Ernest Hemingway s The Sun Also Rises
In the world today, Ernest Hemingway is known as one of the great classic writers,
but this wasn t always true. Hemingway had already published two books before he
finally became well liked with the publish of his book The Sun Also Rises, a novel
detailing a group of Americans as they travel to Spain and the struggles they face
inwardly. It is a book that is rife with different themes and symbolism, as well as
significant to Hemingway s life and one that speaks of life in the 20 s and what
was or was not morally acceptable at the time, particularly concerning gender roles.
Hemingway began his career as a young reporter in high school. His earliest

Like having a little faith Jesus Christ can make your faith grow. In order for Jesus
Christ to use us we need to submit fully to Him. We must study the word of God,
so we know how to be obedient to Him, furthermore the word teaches us what God
expects from us. When we submit totally to Jesus Christ He gives us strength to
bare our cross, also when we submit to God He gives us strength to do His work.
Hebrews 13:21 says God will, Make you perfect in every good work to do his will,
working in you that which is well pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to
whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen . By submitting to God, He will reveal to
you what it is He would have you to do, but we have to submit first. When we are
doing God s work people should see some evident of God in us our spirit should
bear fruit that people can see. Paul said to the Galatians, But the fruit of the Spirit
is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance
Galatians 5:22 23a. A person who has submitted to God, should show these signs.
Also, we ought to seek the mind of Jesus Christ so He can instruct us in all
spiritual things. Smith Wigglesworth said, We must seek to have the mind of God
in all things. If we don t, we will stop His workings. He wants us every day to live in

Rising Inflation in the UK
Inflation; a situation in which prices rise in order to keep up with increased
production costs... result[ing] [in] the purchasing power of money fall[ing]
(Collin:101) is quickly becoming a problem for the government of the United
Kingdom in these post recession years. The economic recovery, essential to the
wellbeing of the British economy, may be in jeopardy as inflationcontinues to rise,
reducing the purchasing power of the public. This, in turn, reduces demand for goods
and services, and could potentially plummet the UK back into recession. This essay
discusses the causes of inflation, policy options available to the UK government and
the Bank of England (the central bank of the UK responsible for monetary policy),
and the effects... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In order to close this inflationary gap, the government should use deflationary FP.
By decreeing government spending (G), (therefore decreasing injections into AD),
or increasing taxes (T), (increasing withdrawals from the economy), disposable
income of the population can be reduced, and in turn AD can be decreased. In
figure 3 the inflationary gap is shown, with the gap a b displaying E Y and c d
displaying W J at the full employment level of national income. Other uses of FP
include changing the tax system to provide more incentives to increase AS, or to
alter the distribution of income, again through increases in T. One major problem
with FP is that it is severely affected by time lags. Inflation is difficult to forecast,
and in order to smooth out the business cycle, policy must be implemented at the
right time, and with the necessary magnitude. If the policies implemented fail to
work within these two limits, they could extend a boom period of unstable growth,
or deepen a recession further, and so must be carefully implemented. These policies
all work to combat inflation; however they could all prove detrimental to the British
economy in it s present state.
Monetary policy, The government s policy relating to the money supply, bank
interest rates, and borrowing (Collin: 130), is another tool available to the
government to control inflation. Figure 4 shows, that by increasing the interest rate
(r), from r1 to r2, the supply of money (ms) is reduced from Q1
Anti Black Racism And The Black Experience
This document is intended to provide a brief look at the historical context of Anti
Black Racism as it relates to the Black experience in general. In doing so, it does not
attempt to highlight or emphasize policing or police oversight in particular. It will,
however, help to facilitate greater understanding of the historical and omnipresent
nature of Anti Black Racism in our institutions, and collective psyche.
The roots and manifestations of Anti Black racism can be traced far back in western
history and cultural practice. Needless to say its continuing impact and repercussions
in our modern day public, private, Judaeo Christian and social institutions and
practices, while perhaps, not always understood or openly acknowledged, is ... Show

Plantation slave drivers and overseers have been replaced by public prosecutors and
militarized police, and the human right to life, denied Africans during the 400 years
of the barbarity called chattel slavery, continues to be contested. The racism that
informs that contestation defines and distorts the primary social rations of humanity.
Here in Canada, there has been reluctance to openly engage in similar public
discourse and action. Perhaps from a sense of not wanting to rock the boat , or
possibly a more complacent or self righteous notion that we are not as bad as our
neighbours to the south. We celebrate our diversity but many see Anti Black Racism
and diversity as competing or even mutually exclusive. Some might offer that this in
itself exemplifies the way in which Anti Black racism manifests itself north of the
Forty ninth Parallel. Stephen Lewis in his 1992 Report to Premier Bob Rae, just
over a month after the riots on Toronto s Yonge Street, was arguably the first to
forthrightly acknowledge and describe how Anti Black Racism manifests itself. In the
first of his four initial observations in the report, he not only names and acknowledges
Anti Black Racism but also delineates the pervasiveness if its reach in the Black
communities with whom he consulted across Southern Ontario.

depicts a teen experience. In order to understand how American Graffiti depicts a
teen experience the camera, sound, characters and mis en scene will be analysed. It
will be discussed on how Lucas portrays teen experiences through each character s
action and how their teen experience changes through the film through the use of the
camera, sound and mis en scene. Also, it will be discussed how each characters teen
experience differs through the use of the camera, sound and mis en scene.
In the hop scene, Curt is seen walking down an empty school hall wall walking
towards a locker. The camera dollies towards the locker following Curt s movements
as he turns the dials on the lock to open the locker. As he struggles to open the
locker, he begins to walk away. A teen experience of growing up can be seen as Curt
is unable to unlock what is presumed to be his locker, as the code of the locker may
have changed as he has now finished school and is going off to college. In addition,
in a scene where John is pulled over by a police officer, where he is accused of being
seen drag racing in which he denies being there. The police officer writes and hands
him a ticket. The camera zooms in on John s glove compartment in which the
audience can see multiple tickets stuffed inside. Which implies that John always has

A Literary Analysis Of Happy Endings By Margaret Atwood

Because Unhappy Endings are Overrated
Margaret Atwood s Happy Endings is not a typical short story. With remarkable
brevity, it provides readers a gold mine for discussion on the nuances of
relationships and storytelling. Best described as metafiction, Happy Endings self
consciously draws attention to its artificiality; it is less a story and moreover an
instruction manual on how to write one. From a surface level, the author parodies
storytelling conventions. Upon deeper examination, however, the story is actually a
satire on on the collective psyche of the middle class. This essay will explore the story
s meaning from these two levels. In scenario A, Atwood introduces Mary and John.
Their lives appear to be happy and financially successful, approaching each milestone
without mentioning any challenges. They find their jobs stimulating and challenging
(Atwood). They have worthwhile friends, they go on fun vacations, and their children
are raised well (Atwood). These characters are remarkably flat, with adjectives
stimulating and challenging describing three times.
From a surface level, Atwood parodies the unrealistic simplicity that fairytale like
stories present. As children, readers are accustomed to stories with happy endings;
two people fall in love, any problems are solved, and all of the loose ends are tied up
in the end. As these readers become adults, however, they realize that life is not

me with joy. I plopped down in front of the TV, and on the screen appeared a
porous, yellow sponge with square pants. Blue eyed, with three eyelashes on each
eye, two prominent front teeth, three freckles on each cheek; he wore a shirt with a
red tie, brown trousers held up by a black belt and black shoes.
I can recall the eagerness, the excitement, to watch each new episode every afternoon.

The Goals Of A College Curriculum
The Manner in which Takaki Brings about the Goals of a College Curriculum
There are a significant number of goals that are essential for a college curriculum.
In order to be a successful student in college, a college curriculum gives individuals
an opportunity to explore themselves and the people around them, and it also
shows them how to be independent so that they can be able to cope and
successfully accomplish these goals to prepare themselves for their future lives. For
example, skills, such as discipline, creative skills, confidence, accountability,
perseverance, responsibility, flexibility, and independence will very much help one
to be able to successfully work at a job. As a result, the person will make money to

According to Jonathan Brennan, professor of English at Mission College, through
A Different Mirror and the history of these people that helped shape American
history, students can have a more accurate understanding of who they are and
where they have come from. First and foremost, there are two particular chapters
in this book that have greatly helped me in reaching these goals of a college
curriculum. For instance, in chapter nine, called The Indian Question , Takaki
addresses the terrifying acts that were placed upon the Indians. After reading this
very unfamiliar and uncomfortable chapter, it has, in reality, greatly changed my
thinking patterns. For example, I became completely shocked and horrified of all
the cruelties that many different races did to each other, for they would brutally
and mercilessly kill women, children, and even babies. One of the Indians who was
in the midst of the chaos and catastrophe said, My son who was two years old was
shot in the mouth that later caused his death (Takaki 230). As a result, I became very
skeptical on what the English at that time were trying to accomplish, for they actually
caused great harm and distress. I also was in the process of critical thinking because I
just could not comprehend why the English took these bizarre and horrendous
actions. I thought to
Target Essay
Ads and commercials are on everything from the billboards you see going down the
highway to the ads you hear on the radio or TV. Every company uses them in
different ways to try to appeal to different audiences. Whether it s the older
generations or the parents of newborn babies, all companies try to appeal to people
in order to sell their products. Target is a department store that has been around
since 1962 and they have grown and prospered ever since the beginning. Target is a
branch off of the Dayton Dry Goods Company started in 1902 by George Draper
Dayton. Throughout the years the store evolved and adapted until they eventually
created the Target we know today in 1962. The first store opened May 1, 1962, in the

Target is trying to make it easier on them by putting everything in one store. Men
and women shop in very different ways. Men are more likely to make a list and
stick to and try to get in and out of class as fast as possible. Women, however, are
more likely to browse the aisles and look at everything that s in the store rather
than just what they need for themselves or the house at that moment (Wells). Target
shows the variety of items in their stores to help show the women in their store that
different items that they could find while browsing the store. By showing the
different products, it helps make the women want to go there because they can get
away from the busyness of life by spending times wondering the isles of Target.
Not only can the women get away from the stressfulness of life, if they are in a
rush they can get everything they could need in one stop. Women make up over
two thirds of the grocery shoppers (Goodman). Of course, not all of these women
are staying at home mom s or spouses so they need to get their shopping done so
that they can get back to the other parts of their lives. The same way that Target is
trying to appeal to women who like to browse when they shop, they are appealing to
those who need to get their shopping done in one quick stop. When showing all the
grocery items along with beauty products it allows the women to realize that they can
get everything they need for their
Pros And Cons Of Buying Organs
While I agree that a persona has a right to choose what happens to/with their body, I
do not think patients should be able to sell and/or purchase needed organs. If
people were allowed to buy and sell organs, I think we would be opening a big can of
worms, as the saying goes, that we do not want to open. There are multiple reasons
why this would not be a good idea.
First of all, if we were to institute the system of buying and selling organs, a gap
between the upper class and those in the lower class would most likely form. It
would separate the people who could afford organs from the people who could not.
This could also interfere with the donor registry. For example, say you found a donor
that matched someone from the upper class and another patient from the lower class.
If the person of lower economic standing was next in line for the organ, but the donor
(or the donor s family, if diseased) was offered money from the wealthy recipient,
that organ could go to the wealth person, rather than the one who would have been
next on the list (and possibly having more of a need for it). Therefore, I think it is
unethical to buy/sell ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Once again, money is a significant incentive for people to do things they may
otherwise not have done. If someone is in need of money, and they are offered a
large amount to say, donate a kidney, I don t believe this would be considered ethical.
It is reminiscent of prostitution, in that a person is sell their body (or in this case
part of their body) in exchange for money. A couple reasons prostitution is
considered immoral in society is because it can involve exploitation and coercion.
Similarly, those who are desperate for money can be exploited and coerced into
becoming involved in selling their organs. Not only is this behavior immoral, but
there may also be health consequences for the living donors who sell their organs for

Contrast Between Satire in The Rape Of The Lock and A Modest Proposal
Although Alexander Pope s, The Rape Of The Lock and Jonathan Swift s A
Modest Proposal are both witty satires, they differ on their style, intention, and
mood. To begin, in The Rape Of The Lock, Alexander Pope uses Horation satire to
invoke a light, whimsical, melancholy mood to illustrate the absurdity of fighting
over the cutting of one s hair. In fact, Horation satire is defined by K. Lukes as a
device that is: urban, smiling, witty and seeks to correct the human foibles. and is
further reiterated in The Concise Oxford Dictionary Of Literary terms as: Horation
satire, often contrasted with the bitterness of Juvenalian satire, is a more... Show more

Of course, such an event is viewed by Pope as foolishness: an idiotic event which
has no bearing on the movement, creation, or destruction of the universe. In fact, a
calamity in which the worst consequence is that Belinda has a sister lock that now
sits uncouth, alone (English, 1125). Thus, the intent of Pope is not to be invective
or bitter but rather to give insight to the comical nature of the event, to bring to
light that the universe does not move to the cutting of one s hair and that to have
such a mistaken belief is foolhardy. This mockery and satire of aristocratic society
is revealed by Pope throughout the poem: Belinda is depicted as a heroine goddess
whose beauty causes The tortoise here and elephant unite, / Transformed to combs,
the speckled and the white (English,1113). Furthermore, her trinkets are depicted as
being spoils and ornaments of war, as one would use to prepare for battle: files of
pins extend their shining rows, / Puffs, powders, patches, Bibles, [and] billet doux
(English,1113). This is comical in that such commoneveryday items suddenly have
grave importance to the preservation and transformation of Belinda s beauty. They
bring her from the mundane to God like. Yet, the irony exists that these are just
everyday items. The tortoises and elephants did not give
Malcolm Gladwell s Outliers
Like no other before it, Malcolm Gladwell s Outliers gives insight into a world of
success only a select few are able to view firsthand. Gladwell portrays date of birth,
economic status, and obstacles that are overcome by luck rather than perseverance
as the key ingredients for a recipe of triumph. Time and education seem to be the
underlying factors while socio economic status also plays a sizable role in
determining who succeeds and who does not. While I do not consider myself an
outliercurrently, as so many of my peers and schoolmates enjoy what I enjoy, it is
very clear that, given the opportunities afforded to me, it may not be long before I
am considered an outlier and achieve success, both on a monetary and mental level.

From a young age, accomplishment is associated first with monetary gain and
then with going to a good college. While my peers and I are currently fixated on
the latter, Outliers has shown us there is no need to be. With Nobel prize winners
coming from anywhere from MIT to Holy Cross and Stanford to Rollins
(Gladwell, 81 82), success is not determined by the higher learning institution one
chooses to go to, although it certainly does not hurt to attend a prestigious one. As I
look to the application process I am deterred by many things that should send me
towards success. Being a Caucasian, upper middle class citizen, I am perhaps the
most replaceable student in the world with thousands just like me, hoping for the
same chance I look forward too. However, I feel it is what I have done in the
summers that will set me apart. Karl Alexander realized that privileged students tend
to outlearn underprivileged children over the summer, something I am beginning to
see more clearly. This past summer, I was fortunate enough to be part of the 6
percent accepted to the Stanford Pre Collegiate Summer Institutes for Business and
Entrepreneurship. It took only a few days to realize that I was the only true white
kid . With the majority coming from Asian descent, the only other kid at the camp
who may have been Caucasian came from a Panamanian family. As I noticed this, I

Nursing Informatics Competence In Nursing
Nursing Informatics Competence
The growth of nursing from the time of Florence Nightingale to our present
generation has really evolved were nurses us to be at the bedside caring for
wounded soldiers, showering and toileting of patients to a more advanced critical
thinking and analyzing information that has been collected for proper processing. It
is time to take nursing to another level that will save our patients and the community
as a whole. One of the advantages of informatics is the safety of our patients so they
are not hurt from the cares we provide. As explained in the American Nurses
Association (2015) there is much assurance in the safety of our patient and health
care providers. Even though the goal of the health industry is to integrate the health
care in the IT world, nurses need to properly master the technology and be
competent users. Gugerty Delaney (2009) explained in their article the need for a
nurse to meet up with the fundamentals of informatics in other to provide safe and
competent care. Therefore, every organization has to work hard to prove their
employees with the resources needed to achieve this milestone. Striving to meet up
with this new technology as a nurse, my goal is to be proficient at informatics so
that I can safely take care of my patients.
Key Functional Area in Informatics
Safety, security, and environmental health are important areas I see as a necessity in
my area of practice. Working as a bedside nurse for some time, my biggest

utopian society is 2BR02B by Kurt Vonnegut Jr. On the other hand some people s

2BR02B represents a better quixotic society than The Giver. The best example of
an utopian society is 2BR02B. In the story it states, All diseases were conquered .
so was old age (Vonnegut pg: 1). As the quote suggest that in the story all of old

is perfect because all of the harm was gone because one thing is guaranteed death, but
not in this society. According to Leora Duncan That sure is a beautiful picture , she...

In the Giver it states , It was considered rude to call attention to things that were
unsettling or different individuals. (Lowry pg. 26). In other words everyone is
getting along because there is no conflict with anyone because the judgement is
not present. However, even though they have a perfect trait for being kind and not
causing conflict, this doesn t mean they are perfect, their population has no control
and they usually end up breaking the rules. In the text Asher and the narrator states
, I apologize to my classmates and Everyone obeys (Lowry pg. 5 Back) . This
further explains that there is no conflict in The Giver and everyone has to
apologize in order to keep it that way. Everyone is to obey the rules no matter
what. These statements may be true but, when it says everyone obeys that is not
true because if so they wouldn t have been released because what s the reason to be
released if you so call follow the rules. Thus, proving that 2BR02B better represents.
2BR02B better emblematize a Utopian civilization than The Giver. An amazing
example of a utopian community is 2BR02B . Whereas some people believe The
Giver better represents. These stories affect people in believing these societies

Theory and the Nursing Process The theoretical basis for public and community
nurses began in the nineteenth century with Florence Nightingale. Nightingale
believed in the prevention and surveillance of diseases. She further believed that a

of the nursing and education discipline to promote a health community and protect
the population from illness, communicable diseases, injury, and death. The challenges

The mission of community and public health nursing is related back to the work of
Florence Nightingale. Her observation that good environment leads to good health
and bad environment leads to bad health.

How Land Cover Has Changed During The D Parsley

Introduction
We live in an age where most environments on earth have been impacted by
anthropogenic activities. Chapin III et al (2001) contend that, humans have been a
natural component of most ecosystems for thousands of years (p. 14). Humans
interact with the environment in many ways: landscape modification, agricultural
activities, urbanization, urban sprawl, carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, stormwater
runoff, and so forth; these anthropogenic activities can have detrimental
environmental results. Satellite imagery, aerial photographs, and digital data can be
used to analyze how anthropogenic activities impact environments spatially and
temporally. This study will investigate how land cover has changed in the D Olive
Creek Watershed, located in Baldwin County, Alabama via the use of geographic
information systems (GIS) and remote sensing methods and technology. For the
purpose of this study, land cover refers to how much of a region is covered by
specified land and water types (e.g. forests, wetlands, impervious surfaces, and so
forth).
Human environmental interaction contributes to processes that affect fluvial
environments. Indeed, impervious surfaces are ubiquitous in urban areas; these
anthropogenic surfaces reroute runoff (among other things), which can ultimately
impact the morphology, water quality, vegetation, and floodplain soils of a local
watershed if it is near an urban area. Similar to the above example, because of the
complexities associated with

The Queensland Police Service ( Gre ) Incident Command...
The Queensland Police Service (QPS) Incident Command System (ICS) was
raised as a project in 2001 with the aim of establishing a Command system which
could be used for any type of incident or event. Extensive research was conducted
into ICS models throughout Australia and overseas. The QPS ICS was finally
adapted from the North American ICS model which allows a flexible approach to
incident response with effectiveness and efficiency. The QPS ICS was then adopted
into Section 1.12 of the QPS Operational Procedures Manual (OPM 2014). The QPS
ICS takes a formal approach by gathering intelligence, planning a response and
deploying the available resources to achieve a specific result (QPS2013a).
The QPS ICS model is based on five interlocking functional roles. These roles are
Command, Operations, Planning, Intelligence and Administration and Logistics.
Depending on the size and nature of the incident the five roles can be carried out by
a single officer or an incident management team with a Police Forward Commander
(PFC) who will have overall supervision. (QPS2013a). The Command role will be
undertaken by the first officer attending the incident who will assume the role of
Police Forward Commander (PFC) (OPM 1.12.3) who will remain in this role until
the incident is resolved or command responsibility is transferred, usually to a more
senior officer (QPS2013a). The PFC will obtain and maintain situational awareness,

Essay on Johannes Kepler
Johannes Kepler was a German astronomer and mathematician who lived between
1671 1630. Kepler was a Copernican and initially believed that planets should
follow perfectly circular orbits ( Johan Kepler 1). During this time period, Ptolemy s
geocentric theory of the solar system was accepted. Ptolemy s theory stated that
Earth is at the center of the universe and stationary; closest to Earth is the Moon, and
beyond it, expanding towards the outside, are Mercury, Venus, and the Sun in a
straight line, followed by Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, and the fixed stars . The Ptolemaic
system explained the numerous observed motions of the planets as having small
spherical orbits called epicycles ( Astronomy 2). Kepler is best known for introducing
three... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His first law states, The orbits of the planets are ellipses, with the Sun at one focus
of the ellipse. As shown in Figure 1, The Sun is not at the focus of the ellipse, but is
instead at one focus [usually there is nothing at the other focus of the ellipse]. The
planet then trails the ellipse in its orbit, which implies that the Earth Sun distance is
continually changing as the planet goes around its orbit. Kepler s second law
states, The line joining the planet to the Sun sweeps out equal areas in equal times
as the planet travels around the ellipse. As shown in Figure 2, an imaginary line
from the center of the sun to the center of a planet sweeps out the same area in a
given time. This means that planets move faster when they are closer to the sun.
Kepler s third and final law states, The time taken by a planet to make one complete
trip around the sun is its period. The ratio of the squares of periodic times for two
planets is equal to the ratio of the cubes of their mean distances from the sun. Kepler
s third law indicates that the time taken by a planet to orbit the Sun increases quickly
with the radius of its orbit ( Johannes Kepler: The 1 4). Kepler s laws challenged
Aristotelean and Ptolemaic astronomy. His statement that the Earth

world. In saying this, however, a significant amount of this literary world derived

is even more true in regards to history. Narrowing down the notion of historical
point of view, the reader must often times seek out information from both sides to

The Story of an Hour is a tragic tale of a woman named Louise Mallard. Her
incapability to withstand sudden shock could be fatal. The news of her husband s
passing was involuntarily pleasing to her ears. She was beginning to recognize
this thing that was approaching to possess her...when she abandoned herself a little
whispered word escaped her slightly parted lips. She said it over and over under
her breath: free, free, free! The vacant stare and the look of terror that had followed
it went from her eyes...they stayed keen and bright (Chopin 1). Her renewed sense
of freedom; a chance at a new beginning, sprung inspiration in her spirit. She did
not hear the story as man women have heard the same, with a paralyzed inability to
accept its significance (Chopin 1). As the sixty minutes of an altered judgement
pass, it is swiftly suppressed as her husband stands safe, unharmed and well in the
doorway of a new life. Mrs. Mallard could not endure the unanticipated prostration
and perished without experiencing the reborn world she had hoped to enjoy. By
analyzing Louise Mallard in The Story of an Hour , self assertion and lack of
communication are recognized, but concludes that she should be analyzed as an
ordinary human rather than a sample to be overdrawn over. Many arguments have
been presented that Louise Mallard demonstrates distinct, selfish acts of self
assertion. There has been, moreover, virtual critical agreement on what the story
says: its heroine dies, ironically and tragically, just as she has been freed from a
constructing marriage and has realized self assertion as the deepest element of her
being (Berkove 1). In this article it proposes this quote, but thereafter it compromises
the previous thought that Mrs. Mallard is ordinary. In agreement, she is just like any
other woman in this world. The reader must take into an account that women should
be secure in themselves before entering in a relationship. She did not depend her life
on her husband. Mrs. Mallard was solely calm and reserved about the situation.
Though the story did not express her religious beliefs, conclusions might be drawn
that she was content knowing she would see him once again. In a
The Threat Of Terrorist Attacks
Terrorist attacks similar to the one experienced in 2001 have left a number of
Americans concerned over the likelihood of future terrorist attacks and their potential
impacts, as well. Such attacks have increased the level of uncertainty regarding what
may happen, which only serves to heighten anxiety and stress levels. Weapons of
mass destruction (WMDs), which include chemical, biological, and radiological
weapons, have increased the likelihood of incidents of terrorismin America
(Friedmann, Cannon, 2009, p. 9). The possibility of terrorist groups such as Al
Qaeda employing WMDs against Americans is very real. A WMD may be defined
as a weapon that has the capacity to cause grievous harm and/or destruction and
death on a grand scale... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A modern pattern of terrorism seems to lean towards loosely organized and self
financed global networks of terrorist groups. Radical Islamic groups such as Al
Qaeda, as well as other religious groups using religion as an excuse, have become a
threat to the interests of the United States and other friendly regimes. International
terrorism has become a key threat to U.S. domestic and foreign security. The timing
and selection of target by terrorists has the potential of affecting America s interests in
important areas such as nuclear nonproliferation and the safeguarding of commerce.
The increasing political participation of terrorist and extremist parties in foreign
countries and the visible growth of cross national connections among various terrorist
organizations have also attracted the attention of the United States. This is because
such links usually involve combinations of technology transfer, funding, and military
training. The 2001 terrorist attacks served as a catalyst for broad and far reaching
changes in the security efforts of the United States (Friedmann, Cannon, 2009, p. 16).
The attacks led to changes in not only how America would identify and respond to
threats, but also its efforts in preventing them, as well. Among the most notable
changes was the establishment of the DHS (Department of Homeland Security),
which was intended to lead broader homeland security endeavors though the
Story Of Ruth Analysis Essay
The Story of Ruth Analysis
The book of Ruth is a small section, in the bible, located in between Judges and 1
Samuel. The story of Ruth shapes the foundation for the important scriptural figure
King David in a narrative format. In the story of Ruth the characters possess Godly
traits such as loyalty and honor which will overall, create the formation of an
important biblical figure with the liking of God.
Genre
The bible can be very hard to understand if it is not read in the correct manner. Each
book in the bible contains their own style of writing. Before you read a book in the
bible you should recognize the genre that is used. The reason why it is important to
have a clear understanding of the genre is because it helps one understand the
possible outcome of the story. For example one knows that a romantic genre story
will end with a blossoming relationship. Genre classification helps stories make
sense. The book of Ruth is written as a narrative genre. A narrative must have the four
consecutive parts: setting, characters, plot, and narrator. The book of Ruth possess all
four of those characteristics. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This book gives proof of the descent of David from Perez through Boaz and the
Moabites Ruth forms not only the end, but the starting point, of history contained
in the book (Keil, C. F., Delitzsch, F., Martin, J 1950). King David is a very
important person of the bible because God chose David to be the king of Israel.
God had a liking to David s heart. David did what god wanted him to do and
repented his sins. God planned to bring about David, that is why god removed the
significant others of both Naomi and Ruth. God planned for Ruth and Boaz to be
ancestors of David because of their traits of loyalty and honor which, creates the
appealing formation of David s heart. The Book of Ruth maybe a short section in the
bible; however, it helps shape an understanding of an influential person in the bible;

Letter To A Soldier s Last Letter Home
I choose to read this letter because it appealed to me because of soldier s feeling
toward the war, how he titled his letter LAST LETTER HOME , and short
sentences that shows the damage the war has taken on Larry Getting short, Mom,
coming home pretty soon. Going to quit flying soon, too much for me now. I went
in front of a board for sp/5 will know soon if i made it.
Wars meant more than violence and actions to the soldiers. After having analyzing
multiple letters, now I could understand better, how these soldiers and veterans were
not only physically, but mentally remained in pressure. I have flown 1500 hours now,
and in those hours I could tell you a lifetime story.
It is also one of the hardest work to send a letter to your family and loved ones, and
title your letter Last Letter home , because it shows how hard the war is beating to
your your knees and you don t have any power to get up and say I will survive. The
soldiers states that I could tell you a lifetime story. Such a meaningful sentence. Even
though I haven t experience terrible events of the war, but I could sense what s he

Soldier simply wants make his family feel that he will come back home but it
might take a long time and he might be older. One more thing that I m unsure of in
his description, he says I dream of Valerie s hand touching mine telling me to come
home, so I could imagine that Larry had lost his wife and they had a daughter
named Valerie and it is hard for a father to leave their kids at home, but this soldier
, and others, had put out their hearts and families by going to the war, so we could
live in peace and freedom, but I believe, the only reason Larry s still writing letters
is because he wants to be near Valerie and support her and that is why, he has some
kind of motivation, hope and states Today I am 21, far away but coming home
A Brief History of France
Historical Perspective
The history of France can be divided to Gaul and Roman Conquest, the middle
ages, modern time and contemporary era. The oldest traces of human life in what is
now France date from approximately 1.8 million years ago. Between 1500 and 500
B.C. The Guals moved into the region before it was known as France. Gaul was
conquered by Rome in the second century B.C., which led to the Gauls adopting the
Roman language and culture. France derived its modern name from Franks a
Germanic tribes that overran the country from the east around 5th century. (A Brief
History of France I)
In the 9th century, the Treaty of Verdun divided the Kingdom of Francia to three
territories; Eastern Francia, Middle Francia and Western Francia which was the
precursor to modern France. Before the monarchy was overthrown during the
French revolution in 1798, France was ruled with several noble families and was
involved with the hundred years war against England, Renaissance, reformation
and seven years war along with Austria against Prussia and England. (A Brief History
of France.II) About 10 years after the revolution in 1804 Pope Pius VII crowned
Napoleon Bonaparte as emperor of the France. (Table 1) Although he waged several
wars and occupied the most of Europe allied armies conquered Paris and exile
Napoleon to the island of Elba. However, he escaped from the island and tried to get
back on power but he defeated at the Battle of Waterloo. (A Brief History of France I)

Traditional Families In The United States
American households have never been so diverse. As a result of these changes,
there is no longer one dominant family form in the U.S. Parents today are raising
their children against a situation of increasingly diverse and, for most, constantly
evolving family values. The idea of the modern family has evolved over the years
because of the financial crisis which has caused both parents to look for work,
parents are no longer staying together, and same sex couples are presently able to
start a familyof their own. The financial crisis has shaped the original ideologies of
old typical American families. This is because families nowadays don t have the
means to support a bustling household of children and the trending rate of stay at
home parents has dropped significantly. Now both parents must maintain a full time
position just to provide for their children. For example In the 1950 s 65 percent of
all children under 15 were being raised in traditional breadwinner homemaker
families. Today only 22 percent are. Over the last ten years, the average household
debt has increased; Americans have needed to make great cuts... Show more content

As of 22 July 2016 same sex marriage was made legal. As many as 2 million to 3.7
million U.S. children under the age 18 may have a lesbian, gay, bisexual, or
transgender parent, and about 200,000 are being raised by same sex couples. This
shows that parents are no longer just a man and women. But its more than that,
these same sex couples have also impacted the economy for example, California
calculated that over 50,000 gay couples in the state were expected to spend about
$400 million, along with $31 million in local tax revenue. The wedding industry in
the U.S. is estimated to be worth over $51 billion. This means that with these new
married couples coming in to play it will also trigger a change in the economic
downturn. This also implies that the typical modern family is evolving more than

Essay On Vacations

  • 1. Essay On Vacations Writing an essay on the topic of vacations may initially seem like a straightforward task, as vacations are often associated with relaxation, leisure, and enjoyable experiences. However, delving into the intricacies of this subject can pose some challenges. Firstly, the topic of vacations is broad and multifaceted. There are various types of vacations, ranging from adventurous trips to serene getaways, each requiring a different approach in terms of content and tone. The writer needs to decide whether to focus on personal experiences, general observations, or a combination of both. Additionally, striking the right balance between personal anecdotes and broader insights can be challenging. While incorporating personal experiences adds authenticity and a human touch to the essay, it is crucial to avoid excessive self-indulgence and ensure that the essay remains relatable to a wider audience. Furthermore, maintaining coherence throughout the essay can be tricky. Juggling between different aspects of vacations, such as planning, destination choices, cultural experiences, and the emotional impact of a break, requires careful organization to prevent the essay from becoming disjointed. The challenge also lies in avoiding clichГ©s and presenting a unique perspective. Vacations are a popular topic, and it's easy to fall into the trap of using overused phrases and ideas. Finding a fresh angle or offering a unique take on the subject requires creativity and originality. Finally, crafting an engaging introduction and conclusion that capture the reader's attention and leave a lasting impression can be demanding. The introduction should set the tone and context, while the conclusion should provide a satisfying resolution and possibly connect the essay to broader themes or reflections. In conclusion, while writing an essay on vacations may seem deceptively simple, the task involves navigating through various elements, including personal experiences, thematic coherence, originality, and effective structure. It demands a balance between the specific and the universal, making it a writing challenge that requires careful consideration and creativity. If you find yourself struggling with such assignments, it's worth noting that there are resources available to help. Similar essays and much more can be ordered on HelpWriting.net, where professional writers can assist you in crafting well-researched and well-structured essays tailored to your specific requirements. • 4. Exploring the Concept of Satire in A Modest Proposal by... A Modest Proposal by Jonathan Swift, and Top of the Food Chain by T. Coraghessan Boyle, both are short stories that explore the concept of satire. Satire can be defined as a kind of writing that ridicules human weakness, vice, of folly in order to bring about social reform. It is a kind of writing to bring about change to society. Even though both are short stories, they easily get the faults of society across to its readers. In A Modest Proposal, Swift is offering an outrageous solution to the problems of human misery. He proposes that people should start eating babies, and using them for everything that they are worth on a daily basis. Swift creates a pamphlet and states six reasons as to why this is a brilliant idea. He states that money wouldn t be wasted on food, the number of Catholics would be reduced, it would be great inducement to marriages, there would be more food so the economy would increase, poor tenants would have money for their landlords, and it would be an improvement for the tavern business. Swift wants everyone to know how badly the Irish people are being treated by the English. He wants to change the reader s point of view through this sarcastic satirical pamphlet. The authors purpose of A Modest Proposal, is to try to change society. Swift is trying to reform the British official s involvement in Ireland. People are dying, and nothing is being done about it. He is trying to shock readers with a twisted story, but also bring about change

Complexity is in great extent in the story, especially when the writer switches and focuses on Carlos Argentino describing him as an unimpressive and an authoritative individual, therefore this leaves the reader in a confusion state as the essay tries to combine different issues in one understanding (Borges, 1945). The author seems to turn his attention to Carlos as he tries and the reader feels no underpinning or interlocking of the meaning reinforcing the paraphrase expected to be made also the association of the properties in the essay sounds complex for one to comprehend. The most impressive part of the story is ironic how the author views Daneri s work; he suggests that the work did not lay in poetry but in his invention of reasons for admiring

I am very glad that I picked this topic, it is very interesting and exciting for me to write about McDonald s chain of restaurants and why did it become so popular in the USA. In the 1940s two brothers, Richard and Maurice MacDonalds opened their restaurant in California. They named it after their last name McDonald s. A lot of people from all over the country moved to California. People moved there to have a better life. It was unusually a lot of vehicles in California, people loved driving vehicles. It was very popular to have it back then. So, two brothers, McDonald s came up with the plan to open their own drive in restaurant in California. Richard and Mac opened their first drive in restaurant in 1937 in Pasadena. They mostly were selling hot dogs, they did not have a lot of employees to run the business. Later they moved to San Bernardino, California to expand their business, which was located next to the high school. What I think brought them a big popularity and the place became more successful and busy and made Richard and Mac rich people. After a while the McDonalds owners start having a bad experience with their restaurant, the silverware starts missing, people simply did not return the wares. The McDonalds brothers were not happy with teenage customers because they were making a lot of noise in the parking lot. Richard

Police Officers And Officers Police And Corrections Officers If My Mind Could Forget the Things My Eyes Have Seen Abuse by police officers and officers in penal institutions is a big subject in the media now. Turn to a news station and the chances of seeing at least on case are pretty high. The most unreported incidents, however, is actually assault on police officers and correctionsofficers. The media does not report these issues nearly as much as it tries to portray officer assault on criminals. Why is it that the media covers up the big issue of officer assault and reports the innocent criminals being assaulted? When the media is trying to scare someone they don t say criminals are bad, instead, make it seem like the selfless officers risking their lives are the bad guys and use it as a scare tactic to create distrust and panic in the public. Abuse falls under six definitions when applied to law enforcement. Physical abuse: The blatant beating, striking, or physical mistreatment of an inmate. This is a very vague area because any physical contact with an inmate can be reported as abuse. Psychological abuse: The mental degradation of an inmate through embarrassment, unnecessary command or criticism. Unlawful interrogation, which is literally unheard of anymore, means the use of starvation, sleep deprivation, dehydration, etc. Excessive force: When compliance must be obtained physically and the amount of force used far exceeds the need. Torture: the use of stress positions water boarding and hot boxing, also

Barrie s classic children s story Peter Pan, a young boy named Peter takes three children on the adventure of their dreams in a faraway place called Neverland. The story, revolving around how all children, except one, grow up (1) takes the reader back to mindsets of children and their elaborate fantasies that might actually be true if they could only remember. With sword fights between pirates, fairy dust, flying away from home right out the window and death being only an awfully big adventure (113), not many can see how they would ever forget such a place, but by keeping their windows open and unlocked, any child can enter Neverland through their dreams. Barrie s use of the window isn t simply an entrance or exit way for Peter, it represents the blurred line between a child s dreams and reality, how the trust of a mother s love can be the best form of hope, and how every child should cherish their years of youth and innocence when they can fly to Neverland and not be brought down by age. According to Barrie s Peter Pan, every child s mind flies into their own personal Neverland at night, and sometimes, the lands can be breached when a window is open. Children have a way to keep this window open for the possibility of their dreams to come true, while adult s windows are kept shut due to age and therefore, losing the ability to travel to their Neverland. The economic recovery, essential to the wellbeing of the British economy, may be in jeopardy as inflationcontinues to rise, reducing the purchasing power of the public. This, in turn, reduces demand for goods and services, and could potentially plummet the UK back into recession. This essay discusses the causes of inflation, policy options available to the UK government and the Bank of England (the central bank of the UK responsible for monetary policy), and the effects... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In order to close this inflationary gap, the government should use deflationary FP. By decreeing government spending (G), (therefore decreasing injections into AD), or increasing taxes (T), (increasing withdrawals from the economy), disposable income of the population can be reduced, and in turn AD can be decreased. In figure 3 the inflationary gap is shown, with the gap a b displaying E Y and c d displaying W J at the full employment level of national income. Other uses of FP include changing the tax system to provide more incentives to increase AS, or to alter the distribution of income, again through increases in T. One major problem with FP is that it is severely affected by time lags. Inflation is difficult to forecast, and in order to smooth out the business cycle, policy must be implemented at the right time, and with the necessary magnitude. If the policies implemented fail to work within these two limits, they could extend a boom period of unstable growth, or deepen a recession further, and so must be carefully implemented. These policies all work to combat inflation; however they could all prove detrimental to the British economy in it s present state. Monetary policy, The government s policy relating to the money supply, bank interest rates, and borrowing (Collin: 130), is another tool available to the government to control inflation. Figure 4 shows, that by increasing the interest rate (r), from r1 to r2, the supply of money (ms) is reduced from Q1

With remarkable brevity, it provides readers a gold mine for discussion on the nuances of relationships and storytelling. Best described as metafiction, Happy Endings self consciously draws attention to its artificiality; it is less a story and moreover an instruction manual on how to write one. From a surface level, the author parodies storytelling conventions. Upon deeper examination, however, the story is actually a satire on on the collective psyche of the middle class. This essay will explore the story s meaning from these two levels. In scenario A, Atwood introduces Mary and John. Their lives appear to be happy and financially successful, approaching each milestone without mentioning any challenges. They find their jobs stimulating and challenging (Atwood). They have worthwhile friends, they go on fun vacations, and their children are raised well (Atwood). These characters are remarkably flat, with adjectives stimulating and challenging describing three times. From a surface level, Atwood parodies the unrealistic simplicity that fairytale like stories present. As children, readers are accustomed to stories with happy endings; two people fall in love, any problems are solved, and all of the loose ends are tied up in the end. As these readers become adults, however, they realize that life is not

Pros And Cons Of Buying Organs While I agree that a persona has a right to choose what happens to/with their body, I do not think patients should be able to sell and/or purchase needed organs. If people were allowed to buy and sell organs, I think we would be opening a big can of worms, as the saying goes, that we do not want to open. There are multiple reasons why this would not be a good idea. First of all, if we were to institute the system of buying and selling organs, a gap between the upper class and those in the lower class would most likely form. It would separate the people who could afford organs from the people who could not. This could also interfere with the donor registry. For example, say you found a donor that matched someone from the upper class and another patient from the lower class. If the person of lower economic standing was next in line for the organ, but the donor (or the donor s family, if diseased) was offered money from the wealthy recipient, that organ could go to the wealth person, rather than the one who would have been next on the list (and possibly having more of a need for it). It is time to take nursing to another level that will save our patients and the community as a whole. One of the advantages of informatics is the safety of our patients so they are not hurt from the cares we provide. As explained in the American Nurses Association (2015) there is much assurance in the safety of our patient and health care providers. Even though the goal of the health industry is to integrate the health care in the IT world, nurses need to properly master the technology and be competent users. Gugerty Delaney (2009) explained in their article the need for a nurse to meet up with the fundamentals of informatics in other to provide safe and competent care. Therefore, every organization has to work hard to prove their employees with the resources needed to achieve this milestone. Striving to meet up with this new technology as a nurse, my goal is to be proficient at informatics so that I can safely take care of my patients. In other words everyone is getting along because there is no conflict with anyone because the judgement is not present. However, even though they have a perfect trait for being kind and not causing conflict, this doesn t mean they are perfect, their population has no control and they usually end up breaking the rules. In the text Asher and the narrator states , I apologize to my classmates and Everyone obeys (Lowry pg. 5 Back) . This further explains that there is no conflict in The Giver and everyone has to apologize in order to keep it that way. Everyone is to obey the rules no matter what. These statements may be true but, when it says everyone obeys that is not true because if so they wouldn t have been released because what s the reason to be released if you so call follow the rules. • 34. How Land Cover Has Changed During The D Parsley Creek... Introduction We live in an age where most environments on earth have been impacted by anthropogenic activities. Chapin III et al (2001) contend that, humans have been a natural component of most ecosystems for thousands of years (p. 14). Humans interact with the environment in many ways: landscape modification, agricultural activities, urbanization, urban sprawl, carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, stormwater runoff, and so forth; these anthropogenic activities can have detrimental environmental results. Satellite imagery, aerial photographs, and digital data can be used to analyze how anthropogenic activities impact environments spatially and temporally. This study will investigate how land cover has changed in the D Olive Creek Watershed, located in Baldwin County, Alabama via the use of geographic information systems (GIS) and remote sensing methods and technology. For the purpose of this study, land cover refers to how much of a region is covered by specified land and water types (e.g. forests, wetlands, impervious surfaces, and so forth). Human environmental interaction contributes to processes that affect fluvial environments. Indeed, impervious surfaces are ubiquitous in urban areas; these anthropogenic surfaces reroute runoff (among other things), which can ultimately impact the morphology, water quality, vegetation, and floodplain soils of a local watershed if it is near an urban area. Similar to the above example, because of the complexities associated with

The Queensland Police Service (QPS) Incident Command System (ICS) was raised as a project in 2001 with the aim of establishing a Command system which could be used for any type of incident or event. Extensive research was conducted into ICS models throughout Australia and overseas. The QPS ICS was finally adapted from the North American ICS model which allows a flexible approach to incident response with effectiveness and efficiency. The QPS ICS was then adopted into Section 1.12 of the QPS Operational Procedures Manual (OPM 2014). The QPS ICS takes a formal approach by gathering intelligence, planning a response and deploying the available resources to achieve a specific result (QPS2013a). The QPS ICS model is based on five interlocking functional roles. These roles are Command, Operations, Planning, Intelligence and Administration and Logistics. During this time period, Ptolemy s geocentric theory of the solar system was accepted. Ptolemy s theory stated that Earth is at the center of the universe and stationary; closest to Earth is the Moon, and beyond it, expanding towards the outside, are Mercury, Venus, and the Sun in a straight line, followed by Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, and the fixed stars . The Ptolemaic system explained the numerous observed motions of the planets as having small spherical orbits called epicycles ( Astronomy 2). Kepler is best known for introducing three... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... His first law states, The orbits of the planets are ellipses, with the Sun at one focus of the ellipse. As shown in Figure 1, The Sun is not at the focus of the ellipse, but is instead at one focus [usually there is nothing at the other focus of the ellipse]. The planet then trails the ellipse in its orbit, which implies that the Earth Sun distance is continually changing as the planet goes around its orbit. Kepler s second law states, The line joining the planet to the Sun sweeps out equal areas in equal times as the planet travels around the ellipse. As shown in Figure 2, an imaginary line from the center of the sun to the center of a planet sweeps out the same area in a given time. This means that planets move faster when they are closer to the sun. Kepler s third and final law states, The time taken by a planet to make one complete trip around the sun is its period. The ratio of the squares of periodic times for two planets is equal to the ratio of the cubes of their mean distances from the sun. Kepler s third law indicates that the time taken by a planet to orbit the Sun increases quickly with the radius of its orbit ( Johannes Kepler: The 1 4). • 40. Sense Of Communication In Louise Mallard s The Story Of An... The Story of an Hour Rough Draft The Story of an Hour is a tragic tale of a woman named Louise Mallard. Her incapability to withstand sudden shock could be fatal. The news of her husband s passing was involuntarily pleasing to her ears. She was beginning to recognize this thing that was approaching to possess her...when she abandoned herself a little whispered word escaped her slightly parted lips. She said it over and over under her breath: free, free, free! The vacant stare and the look of terror that had followed it went from her eyes...they stayed keen and bright (Chopin 1). Her renewed sense of freedom; a chance at a new beginning, sprung inspiration in her spirit. She did not hear the story as man women have heard the same, with a paralyzed inability to accept its significance (Chopin 1). As the sixty minutes of an altered judgement pass, it is swiftly suppressed as her husband stands safe, unharmed and well in the doorway of a new life. Mrs. Mallard could not endure the unanticipated prostration and perished without experiencing the reborn world she had hoped to enjoy. By analyzing Louise Mallard in The Story of an Hour , self assertion and lack of communication are recognized, but concludes that she should be analyzed as an ordinary human rather than a sample to be overdrawn over. Many arguments have been presented that Louise Mallard demonstrates distinct, selfish acts of self assertion. There has been, moreover, virtual critical agreement on what the story says: its heroine dies, ironically and tragically, just as she has been freed from a constructing marriage and has realized self assertion as the deepest element of her being (Berkove 1). In this article it proposes this quote, but thereafter it compromises the previous thought that Mrs. Mallard is ordinary. In agreement, she is just like any other woman in this world. The reader must take into an account that women should be secure in themselves before entering in a relationship. She did not depend her life on her husband. Mrs. Mallard was solely calm and reserved about the situation. Though the story did not express her religious beliefs, conclusions might be drawn that she was content knowing she would see him once again. In a

  • 45. Traditional Families In The United States American households have never been so diverse. As a result of these changes, there is no longer one dominant family form in the U.S. Parents today are raising their children against a situation of increasingly diverse and, for most, constantly evolving family values. The idea of the modern family has evolved over the years because of the financial crisis which has caused both parents to look for work, parents are no longer staying together, and same sex couples are presently able to start a familyof their own. The financial crisis has shaped the original ideologies of old typical American families. This is because families nowadays don t have the means to support a bustling household of children and the trending rate of stay at home parents has dropped significantly. Now both parents must maintain a full time position just to provide for their children.
