Themes Of The Poisonwood Bible
Barbara Kingsolver s novel, The Poisonwood Bible, explores numerous themes
and ideas , standouts being feminism and religion. The Missionary Position:
Barbara Kingsolver s The Poisonwood Bible, and Singing a New Song from the
Conqueror s Music: Religious Hybridity in The Poisonwood Bible both deeply
analyse Kingsolver s Poisonwood Bible s stance on religion and how the book
portrays colonialism and religion and its effect on others. Outline each critical text s
stance on your topic.
The Poisonwood Bible is full of religious links. Being a Bible in itself, the book
aims has similarities and connections to the Bible, but is the Poisonwood Bible in
itself a mockery of the christian religion, showing its flaws and holes, or a novel
which indirectly displays the true Christian way and being? Focus for investigation.

Define Hate Speech
How would you define hate speech ?
I define hate speech as a verbal attack towards a particular person or group on the
basis of attributes such as religion, ethnic origin, race, sexual orientation, disability, or
gender. Hate speech is speech is that is not protected by the first amendment.
2) Would you advocate placing limits on free expression (as most European
countries do) in order to deal with the problems posed by their speech? If so, how
would you define those limits?
No, I would not advocate placing limits on free expression. The reason why I don t
agree with it is because we should have a right to say what we want to say within
certain boundaries. As humans we should know if what we say is considered right or
wrong. Besides everyone has entitlement to their own opinion, whether someone
agrees with it or not.
3) Should we attempt to reach an international consensus on how to define hate
speech and on the standard (if any) to be applied in dealing with it?
I believe that we shouldn t attempt on reaching out on international consensus on how
to define hate speech. Every country should have the right to make their own rules
and standards. If we don t follow or let other countries control what we do, we
shouldn t be telling them what to do.
4) Is censorship or filtering of hate groups websites ever appropriated? If so, under
what circumstances?
I believe that it is appropriate to censor or filter hate group websites. Hate group
websites can be very harmful to

Melanie dreams of her future husband and tends to have a very romantic image of
her future and at this time in her teenage years the most important thing to her is
that of falling in love, getting married and having sex. We can see that Melanie s life
is one of comfort and safety and she is able to fully indulge in her fantasies.
However it is at this point that we first begin to see the element of fantasy or magical
element encroach on to what can be seen as a typical setting. Melanie one night
indulging in her dreams decides to try on her mothers wedding dress and goes out
into the garden at night. She seems to be overcome with the whole image of herself
in the wedding dress and the dark night. She becomes overwhelmed with a felling of
ecstasy In her carapace of white satin, she was the last, the only woman. She
trembled with exaltation under the deep, blue, high arc of sky 5.
However the vast enormity of the world dawns on her and she is left feeling
frightened and alone and in a panic she rushes to go back indoors to safety however
she finds herself locked out. Melanie is forced into climbing the apple tree in order
to get back to her room, however the dress becomes caught and is destroyed. At this
stage in the novel we see that Melanie sees things
Research Paper On The Nutcracker
On November 26, 2017, the Colorado Ballet welcomed the holiday season with their
fifty seventh annual performance of the The Nutcracker based on E.T.A. Hoffman s
famous enchanting fable The Nutcracker and the Mouse King at the Ellie Caulkins
Opera House at Denver Center for the Performing Arts. The Colorado Ballet s
production of The Nutcrackeris one of the most successfully performed renditions of
the classic in the country; winning the Goldstar National Nutcracker Award in 2016.
Artistic Director, Gill Boggs, gave us a performance brimming with magic and
wonder that was expertly coordinated and awe inspiring. Featuring Peter Ilyich
Tchaikovsky s well loved musical composition, gracefully led by Adam Flatt, The
Nutcracker breathes tradition and is able to captivate an audience of all ages.
Originally premiering in December 1892, at the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg,
Russia; The Nutcracker was once not the beloved production we know of today, but
instead was immensely criticized. It wasn t until 1954, when George Balanchine re
adapted the classic for the New York City Ballet, that it gained the momentum now
received nationwide. Nevertheless, Denver s adaptation of the story surely doesn t
disappoint, incorporating a cast expertly delivered by both professional dancers, as
well as students from the Colorado Ballet Academy with timeless choreography by
Martin Fredmann and Sandra Brown.
The two hour play is divided into two acts; set in nineteenth century
What Is The Importance Of Being A Point Guard
Andrew#7
Are you wondering which basketball position does? Well you should be so when
you play so you know what you are doing. The positions I will talk about being a
point guard, small forward, And center.
Point Guard
A point guard is around 6 3 in height in the NBA. A point guard brings the ball
down the court also he runs the place to get it down to the post. Also he can get
ankle breakers with his size up or signature move. The point guard also takes the
wide open shot when he can. So when theyy post come to him, he does a pick And
role play And either take the wide open shot or passes it to the post. When there is
a full court press there is a shooting guard, which is like a point guard, but he helps
out when they are pressed And their plays called the press breaker.... Show more

Some small forwards don t have the best ball handling, but they can dunk on little
person. A small forward is like a post, but he can shoot the ball pretty good and also
shoot three pointers. So when the have the ball they re normally good like Lebron

Eosinophilic Gastroenteritis
Diagnosis and management of Eosinophilic Gastroenteritis (EGE) requires a
background knowledge of hallmark characteristics, the use of medical procedures for
differential diagnosis and a multidimensional approach to treatment (Ingle Hinge,
2013). Diagnosis begins with identifying gastrointestinal symptoms of EGE,
eosinophilic infiltration of the gastrointestinal tract, exclusion of parasitic disease
and the lack of other systemic involvement (Ingle Hinge, 2013). Treatment options
for EGE include dietary restrictions and steroid use or a combination of both
depending on the determined reason for onset. Overall, the lack of information on
EGE is telling of the rarity of the disease, with only 280 cases being described in the
literature before 2013 (Mori,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 1961, Ureles, Alschibaja, Lodico, Stabins (1961) classified EGE s depending on
presentation for the first time, class I a diffuse EGE and class II a EGE with well
defined edges. In 1970, Klein, Hargrove, Sleisenger, Jeffries (1970) classified EGE
by the anatomical location of the eosinophilic infiltration within the three layers of
the intestinal tract: the mucosal, muscularis and subserosal layers. In 1990, Talley,
Shorter, Phillips, Zinsmeister (1990) proposed three diagnostic criteria: presence of
gastrointestinal symptoms, biopsies showing eosinophilic infiltration of the
gastrointestinal tract in one or more areas, and characteristic radiological findings of
eosinophilia with no evidence of parasites or intestinal disease. In 1993, a
longitudinal study on eight adult patients was published which provided information
on the relapsing nature of EGE as 50% of the individuals in the study needed
continuous low does steroid therapy to stay in remission (Lee, Changchien, Chen,

Mondavi Case
Case 3 Robert Mondavi and the Wine Industry
1) Evaluate the structure of the global wine industry? How and why is that structure
changing? What threats do these changes present for Robert Mondavi?
The structure of the wine industry is quite different around the world. The barrier to
entry is relatively higher in the New World than in the Old World. Referring to the
market data on the level of concentration in 1998, people can see a few players
dominate the markets in Australia and the U.S. while the level of concentration is
quite low in Europe. Therefore, the rivalry in Old World is intense there.
The Old Market consumers are more sophisticated and price sensitive than those in
the New World. The main sales channels... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Its bread and butter products face severe competitions. Woodbridge, for example,
contributes to 57% of Mondavi s total revenue but the competitors such as Gallod or
Beringers are trying to penetrate into the market with aggressive prices and new
brandings. Also, the competitors are spending money for marketing and promotion
activities in sophisticated ways while Mondavi revamped its marketing messages
recently.
2) How attractive are the economics of owning a vineyard of 100 acre in Napa
Valley? Would you invest in such a venture? And why or why not?
It depends on what types of products one plans to produce using the land. Since the
winery business requires high investment in real property, it is important for one to
make an investment decision on what market segment it wants to play in. Napa
Valley is widely known as a good place for staring a vineyard and the land price is
relatively higher than anywhere else in the US. The initial investment would affect
the cost structure, which eventually drives up the price of wine. For example, budget
wine consumption is very price sensitive and some competitors are trying to
maintain their competitiveness with a lower price. If a company decides to
produce wines from the winery in Napa Valley, soon, it would be forced to put a
premium on the wine price to maintain a level of margin and ,eventually, the
company would lose its competitive edge if it is a price player.

THE TONE OF A SETTING When having a conversation with someone it is easy
to know how they are feeling by the tone in their voice. If a person is being funny,
they tend to have a smile on their face, but when a person is angry about a
particular subject, the tone of their voice becomes extremely loud and overbearing.
While reading novels or short stories the characters tone is distinguishable because
of the author s use of exclamation points or italicized words. These make the reader
understand the characters emotions and feelings throughout the entire book. As for
poems, the tone is not as recognizable. A reader is not capable of understanding the
tone from just simply glancing at a few words. The tone is derived from several

The remainder of the poem s setting takes place in the United States, where the
speaker and her family now reside. Living in the United States, the speaker s
miserable tone results from the fact that she feels alienated from her children, but
now they, go to American high schools/ They speak English (Line 8 9). English, a
language she does not understand and is, embarrassed at mispronouncing words
(Line 16). This barrier of language has broken off a major form of communication
between her children and her. There once was a time when she would laugh along
with her children as they told jokes, but now all she can do is, stand by the stove
and feel dumb, alone (Line 11). The speaker s setting has distorted her self image.
The fact that she now feels dumb is a completely different feeling from how she
felt in Mexico where she, understood every word they d say (Line 4). Yearning for
that familiarity of the bond between her children and herself she, bought a book to
learn English (Line 12). This is her only way to adjust to her new setting and
because she feared that one day she, will be deaf/ when (her) children need (her)
help (Line 21 22). In Anthony Grooms , Homespace, the speaker s mind set remains
constant from the setting that he had just returned from and in the new setting where
the poem takes place. In contrast to Mora s poem, Grooms tone never alternates; it
is a stable conscience feeling of being in a

The dispute over the true authorship of the First Folio of Shakespeare s Plays (sole
authorship or a partnership of genius like Lennon and McCartney)?
Debate over the true authorship of the First Folio of William Shakespeare s plays
began from the day of its publication (and had been running in the background for
many years up until then). The debate had been fuelled partly by an analysis of
William Shakespeare s own character, background, education and what little was
known of his life and travels; also by Shakespeare s participation in a conspiracy to
steal part of the De Vere estate (at a time when the whole earldom was in question

SQL Server Vs. Oracle Data Types Database
While designing and defining tables in databases, it is important to find out the data
type for each column in the data tables. A data type is an attribute which defines the
type of data an object can retain: integer, string, data and time, etc. There are basically
three main types: text, numbers and date/times. The data types are different,
depending on the database management system (DBMS), the various types of which
include SQL Server, Oracle and MySQL.

Oracle, but a column can be named DATE in Microsoft SQL Server. Use of reserved
words as schema object names makes it impossible to use the same names across
databases.
You should choose a schema object name that is unique by case and by at least one
other characteristic, and ensure

context of our business model our number one key process is our Rules and Norms
(a complete breakdown of Patagonia s current business model and a to be proposed

founding of Chouinard Equipment continued through the creation of Lost Arrow and
indeed Patagonia. Our self proclaimed dirtbag culture has resulted in some
unorthodox business practices over the years. We pride ourselves on our efforts to
reduce the social and environmental impact of the lifetime of the goods and services

However, once again (as shown in Lost Arrow: Financials, Exhibit III) we have
been operating in the black for the last decade. This may also be explained by our
company ethic. We focus on a curbing of consumption and that focus has limited
how much we are willing to spend on advertizing. Conversely our competition
holds advertisement as a high priority when establishing sales and brand. This
observation is not trivial and could more than account for the balance between our
costs and those of our competitors. 3. Moving Forward As discussed the current
model for Patagonia works. You can be a dirtbag and make make money. The
question is how do we continue on with the goal of 10% growth per year for the
next five years? Whatever we choose we must operate within that moral fiber that
helped us to achieve who we are today. Following are two suggestions for how to
move forward, one uses our current business model, the other proposes a change.
Please reference Exhibit I for business model analysis and Exhibit II for strategy.

are derived from retail sales however this accounts for just one third of our sales

Both companies own exactly half of the shares (50/50 JV). With this unique

Active Epilepsy Research Paper
Epilepsy is a general term for any brain disorder that causes unpredictable regular
seizures. These seizures as caused by a disturbance in the brain s electrical activity.
It is considered a chronic neurological disorder, the fourth most common in the
world. There were around 3.4 million people reported as having epilepsyin the United
States in 2015 with 470,000 of those being children (CDC, 2017). This is about
1.2% of the population in the United States (CDC, 2017). There are about 50 million
people who experience epilepsy globally (WHO, 2017). In the District of Columbia

A child is reported as having active epilepsy if their guardian reports they have a
history of diagnosed epilepsy or seizure disorder (CDC, 2017). Seizures that those
with epilepsy experience fall into three main categories: generalized onset seizures,
focal onset seizures and unknown onset seizures. Generalized seizures affect both
sides of the brain at the same time (Type of Seizures, 2017). Focal seizures begin in
only one part or section of the brain (Type of Seizures, 2017). Focal seizures can
happen while the person is aware of the seizure (called focal onset aware seizures)
or when the person s awareness is impaired (called focal onset impaired awareness)
(Type of Seizures, 2017). Seizures are classified as unknown onset when it is
unclear where the seizure began (Type of Seizures, 2017). Seizure symptoms
typically include loss of consciousness, jerking movements, muscle tensing and

City Warming And Its Effects

City Warming Over the last decades, the Earth s human population has been growing
exponentially and now lies above 7 billion people. With such an immense number of
humans roaming around the Earth, throughout time, urbanization will occur
expanding the size of many cities. As a rural area expands so does the amount of
asphalt and concrete buildings within the city. This is how an urban heat island
occurs. An urban heat island poses many serious threats as it raises the temperature
significantly at night and can cause many fatal health risks during the day. Although
urban heat islands seem drastic, there remains ways that could potentially reduce the
effects. Minimizing the effect of the urban heat island can be accomplished by
increasing the amount of vegetation, which includes trees and natural grass, around
new parks and recreational facilities. An urban heat island is normally classified as a
metropolitan area that is warmer than its environment and the amount of concrete and
asphalt a city has greatly contributes to the problem (WTTU). A big city usually
contains vast amounts of roads, buildings and asphalt which are materials that absorb
heat from the Sun during the day, according to ASU Professor Dr. Brazel. At night,
the same constructs will release this heat into the atmosphere generating a
significantly warmer environment. At a smaller scale, such as a park or recreational
facility, this heat inducing process
The Rise Of The Fishing Industry
Before the rise of the fishing industry in the 1950 s Newfoundland and Labrador
struggled with an unstable economy and many citizens found themselves living in
poverty. Initially on shore methods had minimal impact on the environment and fish
population, as in shore fishermen followed a strict season and fished only during the
summer leaving the population to migrate in the fall. As technology advanced steam
boats made off shore fishing possible, this allowed draggers to fish in massive
quantities regardless of the season. At first this was very promising to the Canadian
government and the FisheryProducts International Company (FPI) as they saw huge
profits, and the opportunity to create jobs for fishermanand factory workers alike.
However, with continued offshore fishing the inshore fisherman saw significant
depletion in the fish population, specifically cod. It took far too long for the
government to realize the severity of the issue and when they did it was too late. In
1992 the government announced a complete ban of cod fishing. This resulted in the
loss of 19000 jobs, and all profit coming from this industry throwing many small
fishing towns in Newfoundland back into poverty.
All stakeholders felt the effects of the ban; the External Stakeholders FPI explains
why they supplied the boats to major corporations and over exaggerated the cod
population and Internal Stakeholders consisted of the independent fishermen and
their families and how they were affected. Factory
Strengths And Weaknesses
After I completed self tests online, I discovered that my management strengths and
weaknesses that need to be developed for future management lays between the
following four managerial skills, leadership, teamwork, self management and
professionalism , (Hedman,2016). I believe my strength in management is the
teamwork and weaknesses are leadership, self management and Professionalism.
Having already worked in more teamwork needed environment previously like
McDonalds and Hungry Jacks, where each employee is allocated to diverse jobs
such as the register or drive thru and team members helping other staffs when they
are having trouble in a situation to please each customer. I therefore believe that
my teamwork has improved as the result of working there at an early young age
because it didn t take me long to become a team supervisor when I joined Coles
afterwards. After I joined Coles I was able to contribute my own thoughts
successfully with others, taking a share of the duty, being self confident rather than
passive or aggressive, and of course more importantly working confidently within a
group , (Al Rawi, 2008). Teamwork is very important in the current workplace as
teamwork have existed for many years and have been celebrated throughout many
countries and cultures , (Essien,2002). Therefore, corporations are much more likely
to perform well when its employees work effectively as a team, this is because
teamwork generates collaboration where the collective effect of the
Essay about Genetically Modified Organisms and How

There are hundreds of thousand of genetically modified organisms out there all
around us and there helping people every day so let begin into the complex world of
genetically modified organisms.
We will start with a fun but also life changing organism the glowing cat. These
amazing organisms have a florescent glow due to a gene from a jellyfish but this also
made them immune to the FIV virus which is very similar the HIV virus so could
these cat possibly put a stop to the AIDS pandemic that is sweeping this world or
will they just make a mess. ( information livescience.com/15994 glow dark cats aids

Embryonic stem cells are isolated from the recipient organism and grown in tissue
culture flasks. These cells are then modified by inserting DNA containing the gene of
interest and sequences that enable the DNA to be inserted into specific sites in the
genome. These modified embryonic stem cells are then injected into the blastocyst
stage of a deВveloping recipient organism, and this blastocyst containing the gene of
interest is implanted into a surrogate mother. The resulting organisms express the
gene more efficiently.(http://science.education.nih.gov/supplements/nih9/bioethics

Now there is some consequences to making these organisms such as new allergens
and also the transfer of antibiotic resistant genes. It can also be a major source of
pollution because not all transgenic organisms are made on purpose like when
farmers use pesticides sometime that cases transgenic organisms and these can get
into the water and air causing the spread pollutants. These organisms can come in
any form of life plant ,animal ,protist but they cannot be mixed like you cannot mix a
plant with an animal or a protist and a plant they must have the same cell structure to
be able to mix the two organisms. Most transgenic organisms can not reproduce but
there are a few exceptions such as plants. This is caused by the change in the DNA
that generally prohibits reproduction.

Global Environmental Problems
Global environmental problems have taken a turn for the worst in recent years. For
water pollution, carbon emissions, and hurricanes have been at their highest peak in
2017. These issues have only begun to get worse due to power plants, burning of
fossil fuels, and several other environmentally hazardous factories. In just 2017, six
major hurricanes have occurred due to a combination of climatechange, warming of
the oceans, air and water pollution, overpopulation, and several other environmental
polluters. Countries, including the United States of America, are drastically being
affected by these events, some more than others. Global environmental problems
have increased over the years and will continue to grow worse if actions are not
taken to change this pattern. If the population continues to grow exponentially, like
it is now, Homo sapiens will drastically feel the effects of global environmental
changes including a lack of water, polluted waters and air, and a drastically lower life
expectancy. According to the article, Food by World Wildlife 7.3 billion people live
on this Earthand all together we consume 1.6 times what Earth s natural resources
can offer us (1). With this statistic alone, it is prevalent that if we continue to
consume more than what Earth can offer us, we will run out of natural resources.
Running out of natural resources such as food will drastically affect the Homo
sapiens race as well as all life forms on Earth. Environmental storms will
Unmanned Aerial Vehicle And The Air Traffic Control
System
1.What does the term UAV stand for? Indentify two issues that are unique to this
emerging technology. UAV stands for Unmanned Aerial Vehicle. Two issues that
were mentioned in the course about UAV s were the increase of air traffic and the
rights to privacy. There would need to be another program for UAV s to fit into the
air traffic control system or have another program or set of laws to regulate the
routes in which these air vehicles can safely navigate the sky and not harm people
and/or property. Another issue using UAV s is the right to privacy one might
invade by flying over places that is closed to the public. Since air rights are the rights
that are also being challenged, when is it ok to fly over someone s property? Many...

Major disputes seek to create contractual rights within an airline. Minor disputes
develop from interpretation or application of agreements covering rates of pay, rules,

must be resolved through the Railway Labor Act of 1926 .
3.Describe the benefits and drawbacks of the passenger profiling systems that
emerged following the explosion of TWA Flight 800.
After the TWA 800 accident, the skepticism on profiling became evermore
prominent. Following the explosion of TWA Flight 800, profiling of terrorist
became a popular idea in the airline and security industry. Profiling became
prominent towards Arab passengers because of recent trending news about Civil
War in Afghanistan at the time and the conspiracy about TWA 800 being a
terrorist attack. Association s created more in depth x ray machines and a list of
characteristics on what should security officers should look for when having

right to privacy as far as how much do they need to strip down in order for you to
let them through the security gate. However, it can benefit by saving a whole plane

Francisco Pzarro Impact On Peru
When people think of Peru they don t imagine in depth about the exploration of
Peru and how it was cultivated as the country it is to this very day. One person
important to the findings of Peru was an explorer and conquistador that go by the
name of Francisco Pizarro and his exploration and conquering of Peru. The foundation
of the culture, such as traditions, customs, and religion during the findings of the
conquest are vital to knowing how this impacted Peru. Pizarro conquered the Inca
Empire with only two hundred men compared to the Incas that had thousands but the
culture of Peru still survived even after the conquest. The first two questions I asked

A Positive Team Motivation Plan
In today s business world, each business organization has a diverse workforce and
each worker has specific motivations and emotions. An effective manager understands
the challenges involved in creating a workplace that combines the employees
motivations, satisfactions, and performance into a cohesive and effective workforce.
A manager must develop a plan encompassing the employees motivation, satisfaction,

Summary Of Fahrenheit 451, By Aldous Huxley
We love ourselves to the point of idolatry; but we also intensely dislike
ourselvesВЁ (web). In his youth Aldous studied science, which he tied into his
writing. Because of this, he was denoted as a serious writer and one of the few that
could so aforesaid. Huxley lost and regained some of his sight and still managed to
write phenomenal work. And lastly, as a kid, he stood out, which foreshadows his
success. Aldous Huxleywas born to an English writer, Leonard Huxley. His mother,
Julia Arnold, was a relative to a prominent essayist and nineteenth century poet,
Matthew Arnold. In his family, as well, were people of scientific tradition and

that left him almost wholly blind. He then sought out for a doctor, who restored most

knew and went into the field of composition. Since he studied science beforehand, he

Essay On Public Service Loan
Though the popular notion is that student loans follow you throughout your entire
life, there is a way for you to become debt free sooner than you might have expected.
If you have taken out any federal loans, you are potentially eligible for student loan
forgiveness .
Essentially, there are four main programs that can reduce or even cancel out your
student loan debt. Depending on your job, you can qualify for Public Service Loan
Forgiveness, Teacher Loan Forgiveness, Perkins loan cancellation or income driven
repayment. These programs only pertain to federal loans; however, there is no harm
in reaching out to your private loan lender to seek loan reduction based on your
personal circumstances. Also, you will not be eligible for these programs if you have

Loans are forgiven if you have a remainder of $17,500 or less as your direct or
Stafford student loan balance, and additionally if you took out loans after October
1, 1998. This program is best for you if you wish to teach in low income public
schools and have a relatively lesser loan balance. If you have a greater loan balance
and plan on teaching for at least 15 years, you would most benefit from the Public
Service Loan Forgiveness program, as it is more giving. However, through the
Teacher Loan Forgiveness program, you are able to diminish your loans in half
the time it would take to be forgiven from the Public Service Loan Forgiveness
program (5 years instead of 10). You cannot participate in both programs at once,
but if you qualify for Teacher Loan Forgiveness, you can complete Public Service
Loan Forgiveness later on as well. To apply, fill out the application once you have
completed five consecutive years of teaching at a low income public school and send
it to your student loan
The Causes Of Reconstruction In The American Civil War
After the North wins the Civil War the South was in ruins. Train tracks are
demolished therefore preventing supplies to be sent to the people living in the South,
and hundreds of buildings have collapsed. Thousands are dead or injured. Everyone
knows what is coming next. Reconstruction has just begun, but how long will it last?
The Civil War ended in the year 1865 and because the North won the war slavery was
abolished. Amendments thirteen, fourteen, and fifteen have been ratified.
Amendment thirteen ended slavery. Amendment fourteen gave African Americans,
American citizenship and civil rights. The fifteenth amendment made it illegal to
deny someone the right to vote based on race. (The DBQ Project 505).
Reconstruction started in 1866 through 1909. A terrorist group called the Ku Klux

freedom and civil rights for the African Americans. Information for this essay was
used from the newspapers Harper s Weekly, Independent Monitor, and the Boston

government, paying more attention to the government frauds than reconstruction,
and the public opinion turning against reconstruction, the North is responsible for

Nazi Book Burning Essay
Decades ago, Nazi Germany felt there was a need to burn books because it didn t
match their own core ideologies: racism, materialism This idea can also be parallel
to the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria s (ISIS) destruction of the historical sites
Khorsabad, Jonah s Tomb, Nimrud and Mosul. During both acts, books and
museums were destroyed and along with it, housed years of work, emotions, and
thoughts. Empires and people come and go but their ideas are forever preserved
through books and historic artefacts, which all represent the ideas and cultures of the
past. Therefore, when you raze a historical site, you are doing more than burning
pages or debasing infrastructure you burn ideas, erase the past and destroy the very
foundation that our future can be built upon. The act of book burning during the
Nazi regime is comparable to the ISIS s destruction of Nimrud because the ideologies

This idea would be a great alternative since it brings in more fans and revenue
without using many seats to do so and also increases the Springfield Nor easters
entertainment value and name as a fun location for kids. In addition to fun, we ll
sell food from concession stands or cater to the parties needs. We would designate
a section of the stadium for large groups to rent if they just want to sit down and
watch the game. These sections in the stadium are located in the left and right field
lines of the stadium oppose of each other. Space is plentiful as we estimate
attendance to increase. Kid s parties may bring in 20 30 students in their class along
with 2 parents. This will increase attendance an estimated 60 90 people per party. If
you include siblings, friends, or facility members, attendance can potentially amount
to over 100/party. An estimated 100 in attendance with an average concession stand
rate of $11 $13/person can amount to roughly to $1,100 $1,300 in increase revenue
not including the rental of the party zone location.

students as the case provided students didn t have proper transportation to the baseball
stadium. To fill in stands at the stadium I recommend we discount these tickets for
students since they don t really have a lot of money to spend.
Structural Vulnerabilities And Link Privacy
Structural vulnerabilities and Link Privacy in Social Networks
Introduction/Background:
In social networks, a link represents a relationship between two nodes in the network.
These links can represent email conversations, web surfing, co purchases of two or
more products (e.g. Amazon), friendships (e.g. Facebook), followers (e.g. Twitter),
etc. Often times these relationships are sensitive and/or confidential in nature [ying
wu] and the users are operating under the assumption that their private relationships
will not be disclosed.
In recent years the amount of data accumulated from social networks has become
very large, and there is a lot of valuable information to gain from analyzing and
applying data mining to social network data. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Neighborhood Randomization Using Sub Graph Perturbation
In order for people to mine valuable data from social network graphs they must first
be given information about the network. Even without explicit information about the
nodes, an attacker may use structural information about the nodes and graph itself
(e.g. node degree) to identify who the individuals are that the nodes represent.
Simple graph wise randomization addresses this problem by deleting k randomly
chosen edges and replacing them with k randomly chosen edges, however a
problem arises since data miners depend on these structural attributes to properly
analyze the social network. Fard and Wang [fard wang] propose a structure aware
algorithm for the randomization of social network edges as well as a formal
definition of link privacy with respect to a probabilistic threshold. Their motivation is
to help conceal sensitive links by using randomization techniques, without disturbing
the actual structure of the graph, which is achieved through local neighborhood
perturbation. This is needed so that graphs can be analyzed without the link structure
being left entirely vulnerable to attackers. The goal of their algorithm is to make it
so that an adversary cannot know if a link in the original graph exists from having a
link in the new graph.

Vermont blacksmith Thomas Davenport built a something as similar as tg electric
motor which worked only on a short, circular, special electrified track. In 1834 a
man named Professor Sibrandus Stratingh of Groningen, who lived in Netherlands

Electric cars are better than gas cars because electric cars make less noise than gas
cars when driving. The engines of electric cars make almost no noise, which the
engineers have been perfecting for about 10 years now. The only sound you can
hear is probably the hum of tires on the road when driving. On the other hand, the
amount of noise inside a gas car can be as loud as 75 80 decibels. Electric cars are
also better than gas cars because electric cars have low cost maintenance costs
because electric cars do not need oil changes and it does not need oil for the engine
to run.
Electric cars can also save you money because they do not need gas, but people still
say that Electric cars are so much more expensive to buy. For example, the 2011
Nissan LEAF SL has an Manufactured suggested retail price also known as (MSRP)
of $33,7207, the four door 2011 Honda Civic Si offers many of the similar features
for price of %$24,4051. That s over $9,000 cheaper. But there is a catch, the United
states government is offering $7,500 in federal tax rebate for the purchases of a new
Electric cars. Many states like California offer an extra $5,000 payment through
2015. That s a total of $12,500 saving already! In terms of fuel price, if you drive the
Honda Civic 15,000 miles per year for five years, the cost for gas would be
approximately $10,057. For the same mileages on a LEAF will cost only $3,000
Justifying Evil for Good is Cruel
There are many forms of cruelty. One form that many can relate to is bullying.
Whether having been bullied or been the one bullying others, those cruel memories
can forever be imprinted on one s heart. In White Lies, Erin Murphy, expresses that
although bullying is wrong, trying to justify bad deeds for good is equally cruel.
Using rhetorical and tonal elements, Murphy stirs emotions with pathos, perhapsing
with logos, and vivid images with diction.

in the back of the room. As far as I know, she never intervened (Murphy 382). A
disheartening picture because kids may be kids, but a grown adult should be able to
distinguish between right and wrong. Allowing the bullying to take place meant she
condoned their behavior to be acceptable. Also, as a teacher, she had the power to
influence the students and teach them that any form of cruelty is wrong.
Using perhapsing from a first person point of view, Murphy states that trying to
justify bad deeds for good is cruel. Describing an image of Connie and her mother at
the 7 Eleven, Murphy is showing that Connie told a white lie about her father s job:
All this changed in mid October when Connie s father got a job at a candy factory,
news Connie announced tentatively one rainy day... this makes the reader
consider if Connie was doing a bad deed by telling a lie for good (382). Also,
Murphy makes one question Connie s mother because even though she was trying
to help Connie, condoning a lie teaches Connie that justifying a bad deed for one s
own good is acceptable Her mother was filling a cardboard box (with candy) (383).
Murphy s article makes one wonder if there is a middle ground for right and wrong,
but there is not and trying to justify wrong for good is cruel.
Murphy explains how justifying bad deeds for good is wrong by painting vivid
images of her characters and brings them to life with choice words. Murphy
describes Arpi s accent and uses metaphoric words

Informality was also standard in company correspondence. Welch faxed
handwritten notes to anyone in the company who he felt deserved personal
communication, whether to motivate, correct, or congratulate. Welch also
personally reviewed everyone who worked directly for him, handwriting extensive
performance evaluations that sometimes ran several pages. This exercise not only
gave specific and ongoing feedback to employees but was a chance for Welch to
reflect on the businesses that each employee was leading. The atmosphere of
informality was perhaps most critical among GE s top leadership, where the
confidence that came from being in familiar company encouraged executives to
openly praise or criticize each other. Welch consistently forced executives to bicker
in meetings, the idea being to force management to know their businesses,
processes, and issues thoroughly before engaging in discussion with the boss. Under
such conditions Welch could determine a manager s level of dedication or passion
for a plan or policy by noting the extent to which he was willing to argue. Welch was
typically rude and had little patience for half measures and was equally combative in
performance review meetings, in which company leaders would discuss the
employees within their respective divisions. Welch could be quick to make judgments
with seemingly limited knowledge, but he wanted to stimulate

in 1800, tying Ireland to the United Kingdom of England, Ireland, Scotland and
Wales. Laws discriminating against Catholics and the handling of the Irish Potato
Famine of 1845 50 led to increased tension and the proposal of introducing Home
Rule gained support.
In 1913 there was a general strike of workers in Dublin led by James Connolly of

It was a call for a blood sacrifice in order to free Ireland from British rule. In
organising an uprising, the funeral was proof that the Volunteers could organise
when secretly directed by the I.R.B. and on St. Patrick s Day (17th March),
Connolly took his Citizen Army on a tour of key Dublin sites which could be used as
strategic strongholds during an uprising.
However, there were many difficulties in organising and executing such a rebellion
and one thing the rebels needed were weapons. Sir Roger Casement had organised
for a shipment of as many as 200,000 rifles to be smuggled into Ireland on a neutral
German freighter, the Aud. But when Casement arrived in Ireland on a German
submarine he was arrested immediately and the freighter was intercepted by the
Royal Navy and scuttled itself. Another attempt was made to gain large quantities of
arms and ammunition during the actual uprising from the arsenal at Phoenix Park
known as Magazine Fort. However this was not very successful and the rebels seized
only a few rifles.
Throughout the organisation of the rebellion, Eoin MacNeill, leader of the minority
Volunteers had to be kept in the dark about the I.R.B. s plans because he believed that
his Irish Volunteersshould only rise in arms if a British
The Church As The Good News Of Salvation Essay
Persecution was a continuous problem for the early church as the good news of
salvation through Jesus Christ began to spread. One of the most zealous
persecutors of the early church determined to stop the proliferation of this message
was a Pharisee named Saul of Tarsus. Therefore, to demonstrate that salvation and
redemption are for everyone, Jesus called Saul to help spread the Gospel. This
calling was so important that Luke described it three times in Acts. First, in Acts
9:1 30, then again as Paul speaks before a Jewish crowd in Acts 22:3 21, and finally
before Jewish King Agrippa as a defense given by Paul in Acts 26:2 23. Luke wanted
his readers to understand that while Saul of Tarsuswas a zealous persecutor of
Christians, his calling/conversion to Christianitycauses an enormous growth in the
Christian church.
Saul was born in the city of Tarsus in Cilicia (in modern day Turkey). His parents
were Jewish who possessed Roman citizenship. According to Harrer, his father, or
some more distant male ascendant, must have been made Roman either by the
grant of freedom, if he were a slave, or by naturalization, if he were a free provincial
or foreigner This coveted privilege would also extend to Saul. In addition to being a
Roman citizen, Saul s father was a Pharisee which Saul would also eventually
become.
It is believed that Saul and his family moved to Jerusalem at some point during Saul s
childhood. In Acts 22:3, Saul comments about Jerusalem being his boyhood home.
Kenneth Bianchi Psychological Analysis
Alysha Knight
Psychology 2301 Psychological Disorder As discussed and studied there are many
who now have a hard time believing there psych disorders exists. Understandably
so, because we find that it can become repetitive once a criminal has scene that there
may be a way out of their consequence. Mr. Kenneth Bianchi is known as the
Hillside Strangler and also a man who brought more skepticism to psych defenses in
crime. This is a man who was caught and convicted for 15 rapes and murders. In his
younger years you could say he has slightly a tragic story. His biological mother
was a drunk but was adopted at birth and had a love hate relationship with women
even as a young child. (Bio, 2017) Bianchi did not work alone though, he began
teaming up with his cousin Angelo Buono after a failed relationship on Kenneth s

Also the fact that one of his personalities belong to an identity he tried to steal may
have given his lie away. Although two of a half dozen experts evaluated Bianchi
as a multiple personality, Nash said authorities showed that Bianchi s attempt to
prove he had the disorder by constantly changing his story was no more than a self
serving alibi. (Krikorian, 1998) I believe psychological disorders exist and that are
unfortunate to those who truly have them, but what we face now is that its hard to
believe the true disorder due to the people that have no disorder at all. Before 1991,

The Flight Of The Plane
On February 7, 2006, UPS flight number 1307, a regular night time package flight
from Atlanta to Philadelphia, had been a normal flight but, just after receiving
clearance to land on runway 27R, the flight crewmembers reported that they had a
smoke warning light come on. Smoke was coming out of the aircraft as it landed.
The flight crewmembers evacuated the airplane after it landed. The flight
crewmembers had minor injuries, and most of the cargo and the airplane were
destroyed by the fire after landing. The NTSB determined that the probable cause of
this accident was an in flight cargo fire that initiated from an unknown source, which
was most likely located within the cargo area. (flight safety, 2006)
On February 7, 2006, United Parcel Service Company (UPS) flight 1307, a
McDonnell Douglas DC 8 71F, N748UP, landed at Philadelphia International Airport
(PHL). Its first flight had been in 1967. UPS bought the airplane in 1985. The
airplane had accrued about 67,675 total flight hours and was equipped with four
CFM International CFM56 2C engines. In command of UPS flight 1307 was the
captain, age 59, was hired by UPS on September 19, 1988. The first officer, age 40,
was hired by UPS on February 19, 1996. UPS records indicated that the first officer
had accumulated 7,500 total flight hours, including 2,100 hours as second in
command in DC 8 airplanes. The flight engineer, age 61, was hired by UPS on
January 24, 1994. UPS records indicated that the flight engineer
Metaphors In Sinners In The Hands Of An Angry God
Throughout the Eighteenth Century, religion fought a battle against science and
those who
did not stand with the church were not looked at as ethical people. In the sense that
they could not
possibly be good people if the did not live for God instead of themselves. Atheists
were not the only
group of people who were disliked even Quakers and Jews who did not share the
same God were
looked down upon. Jonathan Edwards made the message clear in his sermon that
those who did not
go to church and live for God were enemies of God. The church and its followers
started to make the
idea known to others that God would send them to hell for entirety unless they came
back to God as
quickly as possible and repented. In his famous sermon Sinners in the Hands of an
Angry God .
Jonathan Edwards puts fear in all those who do not follow the word of God by talking
about hell and
the punishment that unrepentant humans deserve. His metaphors including those
about hell, the wrath
of God and the unworthiness of humans is successful in scaring the unrepentant to
turn back to God
and as for forgiveness.
In one metaphor Edwards creates a clear image for his congregation when he explains
that
unrepentant sinners are like heavy lead plunging toward hell without the help of God.
Edwards writes, Your wickedness makes you as it were heavy as lead, and to tend
downwards with
great weight and pressure towards hell; and if God should let you go, you would
immediately sink and
Was Disney Justified In The Film Moana
Lately, three articles were reviewed for the film, Moana, depicting whether Disney
was being stereotypical and insensitive to the Polynesian culture. Many people think
that Disney was wrong in the depiction of the character s appearances, especially
relating to the demigod character, Maui. Disney was justified in creating the Moana
filmand was not culturally insensitive to the Polynesian people because Disney had
spent 5 years just getting the characters correct by Polynesian standard, they also
looked far and hard in order to get Polynesian voice actors and songwriters, and
finally, the Disney team took the time out of their lives in order to make the setting of
the movie as authentic as possible.
To commence, the creators of Moana knew ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Article 3 states, Clements and Musker have been making trips to the Pacific
Islands including Samoa, Tahiti, Mo orea, and Fiji. Over time they created a
coalition of anthropologists, historians, choreographers, musicians, and linguists
called the Oceanic Trust. Together, this group helped to shape Moana and keep the
writing and design as authentic as possible. Moreover, this evidence shows Disney
had taken in a lot of accounts to get the setting of Moana very similar to what
Polynesian islands would look like. To add onto, the team took time out of their
lives just to go visit these foreign places, to make sure that their movie was perfect.
The team working on the Moana film not only accomplished their setting, but was
able to get the Polynesian setting so well that they even wowed the Polynesian
people working on the movie. In article 1 it states, They are making a film inspired
by my culture, the culture I had lived every day of my life and that is something
incredibly special for the rest of the world to see, Auli l says... Am I still grounded
and rooted in the way I want to be? And I can honestly say yes. Moreover, this
explains that Disney was able to get the reaction that they wanted from a
Polynesian audience. Furthermore, Disney was justified in the creation of this
movie because it was said by a Polynesian person Am I still grounded and rooted in
the way I want to be? And I can honestly say I am and this is relating back to the
fact that the movie was able to ground her in her culture. To put into finality, Disney
was justified in the creation of the film, Moana because of use of the time that was
taken out of their lives in order to get this movie
Examining the Timeless Mystery Novels The Hound of the...
Throughout the years the characters and plots of mystery novels have evolved and
have been modernized. However, no matter when or where the novels are written,
they all succeed in having major impacts on the unsuspecting readers. For some
mystery fans, the opening of the book can awaken the butterflies in the pit of their
stomachs. As the stories progress, the reader is drawn further and further into the
novel until it becomes impossible to pry the book from their hands. Mystery novels
written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyleand Charles Dickens are not exceptions and are
overflowing with suspenseful scenes. The mysteries The Hound of the Baskervilles
and The Mystery of Edwin Drood arouse excitement and encourage the reader to

In Jasper s case, in The Mystery of Edwin Drood, the character development is the
complete opposite. After the disappearance of his nephew, Jasper not only gains self
confidence, but becomes suspicious of everyone and revenge becomes his main
priority. The other characters have also noticed Jasper s transformation as Rosa says
that she, ... [has] not seen him [Jasper] since the fatal night and then he was present
in gloomy watchfulness, as representing his lost nephew and burning to avenge him
(Dickens 168). Therefore, Jasper s presence is felt throughout [the novel] as an
overhanging threat (Cardwell xi). This leads to the mystery changing the main
characters. Whether it is for better or for worse, it is something intriguing that the
reader can ponder as they read.
At first glance, it may appear as though the only people affected by the mystery are
the protagonists, but in fact the majority of the society and the secondary characters
are influenced. In The Hound of the Baskervilles, the fear of the hound causes many
characters to be on edge and fearful of the Moor, which results in the reader
experiencing constant suspense and fearing the mystical hound. More specifically,
Sir Henry Baskerville is always anxious, is always shaking and fearing that his next
breath may be his last. The

Should you vaccinate your children? This is a question that every parent is faced
with almost as soon as their child is born because according to the CDC vaccination
schedule, the first vaccine is given shortly after birth (HepB). This can sometimes be
a controversial topic so let me fully disclose that ... Show more content on

Pros and Cons of Vaccination
Pros
Bottom line, Vaccination can save your child s life. Most of the diseases that your
child will be vaccinated against according to the CDC vaccination schedule can be
deadly. For example, the MMR vaccine protects against Measles, Mumps, and
Rubella all of which can be deadly.
Vaccination can save your family a lot of time and money. We all know medical
bills are expensive, especially if you have hefty co pays on your insurance so
vaccinating your children can save you the exorbitant amount of money you would
spend on medical bills if your child came down with any of the diseases the current
vaccination schedule vaccinates against.
Vaccination helps protect future generations. Diseases that used to injure or kill
thousands of people are now virtually eliminated or close to extinction all thanks to
vaccination. For example, the last cases of naturally occurring paralytic Polio in the
United States were in 1979. This is thanks to the miracle of vaccinations and parents
continuing to trust their children s doctor!
Vaccinations are safe and effective. We all know that it is tough to watch our little
ones receive vaccinations but if you compare that to what they would go through if
they were to contract any of the diseases that they are being protected against, it is
Statement Of Purpose To Become A Neonatal Nurse

people I just talk to when I don t want to be lonely during the school hours.
Now I think about the future way too much to the point where I get death and start
to question what happens when I m gone. I have already have everything planned
out and know where I m going to be doing and what not. I know I want to go to a
community college and get my required courses out of the way. If I enjoy the

Inbreeding is the outcome of offspring from mating of individuals that are related by

Leadership, Communicative Intervention, and Fiscal Management In strategic
communication and rhetoric, conflict management in the framework of rhetoric,
dialog, and communication is analyzed as a contemporary field of management,
while managers are analyzed in terms of their role in conflict management. An
education of rhetoric enables communicators in any facet of any field to create and

Courage and Cowardice in The Things They Carried by Tim O Brien
Through The Things They Carried, Tim O Brien moves beyond the horror of
fighting in the Vietnam War to examine with sensitivity and insight the nature of
courage and fear. Included, is a collection of interrelated stories. A few of the stories
are brutal, while others are flawed, blurring the distinction between fact and fiction.
All the stories, however, deal with one platoon. Some are about the wartime
experiences of soldiers, and others are about a 43 year old writer reminiscing about
his platoon s experiences. In the beginning chapter, O Brien rambles about the items
the soldiers carry into battle, ranging from can openers, pocketknives, and mosquito
repellent o ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some of the soldiers were such cowards that they injured themselves just to be
taken away in a helicopter and extracted from the war scene. The soldiers spoke
bitterly about guys who had found release by shooting off their own toes or
fingers. Pussies, they d say. Candy asses (22). However, deep down inside, the
soldiers who did all the mocking imagined the quick, sweet pain, then the
evacuation to Japan, then a hospital with warm beds and cute geisha nurses (22).
The soldiers even dreamt at night about freedom birds. The men were flying on a
real bird, a big sleek silver bird with feathers and talons and high screeching... The
weights fell off; there was nothing to bear (22). The soldiers did not want to be at
war, they imagined to themselves It s (the war) over, I m gone! they were naked,
they were light and free (22). Furthermore, O Brien himself admits he went to war not
out of courage, but out of embarrassment and cowardice. In the chapter On The
Rainy River, O Brien received a draft letter for the Vietnam War. He was in shock, I
was too good for this war. Too smart, too compassionate, to everything. It couldn t
happen. I was above it. A mistake, maybe a foul up in the paperwork. I was no
soldier... I remember the rage in my stomach. Later it burned down to a smoldering
self pity, then to numbness (41 42). Obviously, O Brien did not want to go to war.
However, he was

The Missionary Position: Barbara Kingsolver s The Poisonwood Bible, and Singing a New Song from the Conqueror s Music: Religious Hybridity in The Poisonwood Bible both deeply analyse Kingsolver s Poisonwood Bible s stance on religion and how the book portrays colonialism and religion and its effect on others. Outline each critical text s stance on your topic. The Poisonwood Bible is full of religious links. Being a Bible in itself, the book aims has similarities and connections to the Bible, but is the Poisonwood Bible in itself a mockery of the christian religion, showing its flaws and holes, or a novel which indirectly displays the true Christian way and being? Kingsolver has shifted the Missionary role from Nathan to Orleanna, by shedding light on the misdemeanors of Nathan s ways, and the purity of Orleannas. The writer s view of Orleanna fits with Orleanna s narrative throughout the book. In the first book, Genesis in parallel to the Bible, Orleanna is unaware of the dangers that are to be presented to her in the near future, and is clouded by the judgements of her all knowing husband, but by the end of the Poisonwood Bible in Exodus, Orleanna has developed by listening to her own conscience and freeing herself from Nathan, who could otherwise be compared to the grasp that religion can have on vulnerable
  • 3. Define Hate Speech How would you define hate speech ? I define hate speech as a verbal attack towards a particular person or group on the basis of attributes such as religion, ethnic origin, race, sexual orientation, disability, or gender. Hate speech is speech is that is not protected by the first amendment. 2) Would you advocate placing limits on free expression (as most European countries do) in order to deal with the problems posed by their speech? If so, how would you define those limits? No, I would not advocate placing limits on free expression. The reason why I don t agree with it is because we should have a right to say what we want to say within certain boundaries. As humans we should know if what we say is considered right or wrong. Besides everyone has entitlement to their own opinion, whether someone agrees with it or not. 3) Should we attempt to reach an international consensus on how to define hate speech and on the standard (if any) to be applied in dealing with it? I believe that we shouldn t attempt on reaching out on international consensus on how to define hate speech. Every country should have the right to make their own rules and standards. If we don t follow or let other countries control what we do, we shouldn t be telling them what to do. 4) Is censorship or filtering of hate groups websites ever appropriated? If so, under what circumstances? I believe that it is appropriate to censor or filter hate group websites. Hate group websites can be very harmful to

  • 5. Research Paper On The Nutcracker On November 26, 2017, the Colorado Ballet welcomed the holiday season with their fifty seventh annual performance of the The Nutcracker based on E.T.A. Hoffman s famous enchanting fable The Nutcracker and the Mouse King at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House at Denver Center for the Performing Arts. The Colorado Ballet s production of The Nutcrackeris one of the most successfully performed renditions of the classic in the country; winning the Goldstar National Nutcracker Award in 2016. Artistic Director, Gill Boggs, gave us a performance brimming with magic and wonder that was expertly coordinated and awe inspiring. Featuring Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky s well loved musical composition, gracefully led by Adam Flatt, The Nutcracker breathes tradition and is able to captivate an audience of all ages. Originally premiering in December 1892, at the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg, Russia; The Nutcracker was once not the beloved production we know of today, but instead was immensely criticized. It wasn t until 1954, when George Balanchine re adapted the classic for the New York City Ballet, that it gained the momentum now received nationwide. Nevertheless, Denver s adaptation of the story surely doesn t disappoint, incorporating a cast expertly delivered by both professional dancers, as well as students from the Colorado Ballet Academy with timeless choreography by Martin Fredmann and Sandra Brown. The two hour play is divided into two acts; set in nineteenth century

The positions I will talk about being a point guard, small forward, And center. Point Guard A point guard is around 6 3 in height in the NBA. A point guard brings the ball down the court also he runs the place to get it down to the post. Also he can get ankle breakers with his size up or signature move. The point guard also takes the wide open shot when he can. So when theyy post come to him, he does a pick And role play And either take the wide open shot or passes it to the post. Eosinophilic Gastroenteritis Diagnosis and management of Eosinophilic Gastroenteritis (EGE) requires a background knowledge of hallmark characteristics, the use of medical procedures for differential diagnosis and a multidimensional approach to treatment (Ingle Hinge, 2013). Diagnosis begins with identifying gastrointestinal symptoms of EGE, eosinophilic infiltration of the gastrointestinal tract, exclusion of parasitic disease and the lack of other systemic involvement (Ingle Hinge, 2013). Treatment options for EGE include dietary restrictions and steroid use or a combination of both depending on the determined reason for onset. Overall, the lack of information on EGE is telling of the rarity of the disease, with only 280 cases being described in the literature before 2013 (Mori,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In 1990, Talley, Shorter, Phillips, Zinsmeister (1990) proposed three diagnostic criteria: presence of gastrointestinal symptoms, biopsies showing eosinophilic infiltration of the gastrointestinal tract in one or more areas, and characteristic radiological findings of eosinophilia with no evidence of parasites or intestinal disease. In 1993, a longitudinal study on eight adult patients was published which provided information on the relapsing nature of EGE as 50% of the individuals in the study needed continuous low does steroid therapy to stay in remission (Lee, Changchien, Chen, Lin, Sheen, Wang, . . . • 8. Mondavi Case Case 3 Robert Mondavi and the Wine Industry 1) Evaluate the structure of the global wine industry? How and why is that structure changing? What threats do these changes present for Robert Mondavi? The structure of the wine industry is quite different around the world. The barrier to entry is relatively higher in the New World than in the Old World. Referring to the market data on the level of concentration in 1998, people can see a few players dominate the markets in Australia and the U.S. while the level of concentration is quite low in Europe. Therefore, the rivalry in Old World is intense there. The Old Market consumers are more sophisticated and price sensitive than those in the New World. The main sales channels... Woodbridge, for example, contributes to 57% of Mondavi s total revenue but the competitors such as Gallod or Beringers are trying to penetrate into the market with aggressive prices and new brandings. Also, the competitors are spending money for marketing and promotion activities in sophisticated ways while Mondavi revamped its marketing messages recently. 2) How attractive are the economics of owning a vineyard of 100 acre in Napa Valley? Would you invest in such a venture? And why or why not? It depends on what types of products one plans to produce using the land. Since the winery business requires high investment in real property, it is important for one to make an investment decision on what market segment it wants to play in. Napa Valley is widely known as a good place for staring a vineyard and the land price is relatively higher than anywhere else in the US. The initial investment would affect the cost structure, which eventually drives up the price of wine. For example, budget wine consumption is very price sensitive and some competitors are trying to maintain their competitiveness with a lower price. If a company decides to produce wines from the winery in Napa Valley, soon, it would be forced to put a premium on the wine price to maintain a level of margin and ,eventually, the company would lose its competitive edge if it is a price player. However, for a

If a person is being funny, they tend to have a smile on their face, but when a person is angry about a particular subject, the tone of their voice becomes extremely loud and overbearing. While reading novels or short stories the characters tone is distinguishable because of the author s use of exclamation points or italicized words. English, a language she does not understand and is, embarrassed at mispronouncing words (Line 16). This barrier of language has broken off a major form of communication between her children and her. There once was a time when she would laugh along with her children as they told jokes, but now all she can do is, stand by the stove and feel dumb, alone (Line 11). The speaker s setting has distorted her self image. The fact that she now feels dumb is a completely different feeling from how she felt in Mexico where she, understood every word they d say (Line 4). Yearning for that familiarity of the bond between her children and herself she, bought a book to learn English (Line 12). This is her only way to adjust to her new setting and because she feared that one day she, will be deaf/ when (her) children need (her) help (Line 21 22). In Anthony Grooms , Homespace, the speaker s mind set remains constant from the setting that he had just returned from and in the new setting where the poem takes place. Debate over the true authorship of the First Folio of William Shakespeare s plays began from the day of its publication (and had been running in the background for many years up until then). The debate had been fuelled partly by an analysis of William Shakespeare s own character, background, education and what little was known of his life and travels; also by Shakespeare s participation in a conspiracy to steal part of the De Vere estate (at a time when the whole earldom was in question following the untimely death of ... However, once again (as shown in Lost Arrow: Financials, Exhibit III) we have been operating in the black for the last decade. This may also be explained by our company ethic. We focus on a curbing of consumption and that focus has limited how much we are willing to spend on advertizing. Conversely our competition holds advertisement as a high priority when establishing sales and brand. This observation is not trivial and could more than account for the balance between our costs and those of our competitors. 3. Moving Forward As discussed the current model for Patagonia works. You can be a dirtbag and make make money. The question is how do we continue on with the goal of 10% growth per year for the next five years? City Warming And Its Effects Edgar Chaidez Alana Brussin/ ENG 102 November 23, 2016 City Warming Over the last decades, the Earth s human population has been growing exponentially and now lies above 7 billion people. With such an immense number of humans roaming around the Earth, throughout time, urbanization will occur expanding the size of many cities. As a rural area expands so does the amount of asphalt and concrete buildings within the city. This is how an urban heat island occurs. An urban heat island poses many serious threats as it raises the temperature significantly at night and can cause many fatal health risks during the day. Although urban heat islands seem drastic, there remains ways that could potentially reduce the effects. Minimizing the effect of the urban heat island can be accomplished by increasing the amount of vegetation, which includes trees and natural grass, around new parks and recreational facilities. An urban heat island is normally classified as a metropolitan area that is warmer than its environment and the amount of concrete and asphalt a city has greatly contributes to the problem (WTTU). A big city usually contains vast amounts of roads, buildings and asphalt which are materials that absorb heat from the Sun during the day, according to ASU Professor Dr. Brazel. At night, the same constructs will release this heat into the atmosphere generating a significantly warmer environment. At a smaller scale, such as a park or recreational facility, this heat inducing process

The Rise Of The Fishing Industry Before the rise of the fishing industry in the 1950 s Newfoundland and Labrador struggled with an unstable economy and many citizens found themselves living in poverty. Initially on shore methods had minimal impact on the environment and fish population, as in shore fishermen followed a strict season and fished only during the summer leaving the population to migrate in the fall. As technology advanced steam boats made off shore fishing possible, this allowed draggers to fish in massive quantities regardless of the season. At first this was very promising to the Canadian government and the FisheryProducts International Company (FPI) as they saw huge profits, and the opportunity to create jobs for fishermanand factory workers alike. However, with continued offshore fishing the inshore fisherman saw significant depletion in the fish population, specifically cod. It took far too long for the government to realize the severity of the issue and when they did it was too late. In 1992 the government announced a complete ban of cod fishing. This resulted in the loss of 19000 jobs, and all profit coming from this industry throwing many small fishing towns in Newfoundland back into poverty. All stakeholders felt the effects of the ban; the External Stakeholders FPI explains why they supplied the boats to major corporations and over exaggerated the cod population and Internal Stakeholders consisted of the independent fishermen and their families and how they were affected. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Results: Neighborhood Randomization Using Sub Graph Perturbation In order for people to mine valuable data from social network graphs they must first be given information about the network. Even without explicit information about the nodes, an attacker may use structural information about the nodes and graph itself (e.g. node degree) to identify who the individuals are that the nodes represent. Simple graph wise randomization addresses this problem by deleting k randomly chosen edges and replacing them with k randomly chosen edges, however a problem arises since data miners depend on these structural attributes to properly analyze the social network. Fard and Wang [fard wang] propose a structure aware algorithm for the randomization of social network edges as well as a formal definition of link privacy with respect to a probabilistic threshold. Their motivation is to help conceal sensitive links by using randomization techniques, without disturbing the actual structure of the graph, which is achieved through local neighborhood perturbation. This is needed so that graphs can be analyzed without the link structure being left entirely vulnerable to attackers. The goal of their algorithm is to make it so that an adversary cannot know if a link in the original graph exists from having a link in the new graph. Problem definition: Given a

In 1834, Vermont blacksmith Thomas Davenport built a something as similar as tg electric motor which worked only on a short, circular, special electrified track. Electric cars are better than gas cars because electric cars make less noise than gas cars when driving. The engines of electric cars make almost no noise, which the engineers have been perfecting for about 10 years now. The only sound you can hear is probably the hum of tires on the road when driving. On the other hand, the amount of noise inside a gas car can be as loud as 75 80 decibels. Electric cars are also better than gas cars because electric cars have low cost maintenance costs because electric cars do not need oil changes and it does not need oil for the engine to run. Electric cars can also save you money because they do not need gas, but people still say that Electric cars are so much more expensive to buy. For example, the 2011 Nissan LEAF SL has an Manufactured suggested retail price also known as (MSRP) of $33,7207, the four door 2011 Honda Civic Si offers many of the similar features for price of %$24,4051. That s over $9,000 cheaper. But there is a catch, the United states government is offering $7,500 in federal tax rebate for the purchases of a new Electric cars. Many states like California offer an extra $5,000 payment through 2015. That s a total of $12,500 saving already! In terms of fuel price, if you drive the Honda Civic 15,000 miles per year for five years, the cost for gas would be approximately $10,057. For the same mileages on a LEAF will cost only $3,000

Whether having been bullied or been the one bullying others, those cruel memories can forever be imprinted on one s heart. A disheartening picture because kids may be kids, but a grown adult should be able to distinguish between right and wrong. Allowing the bullying to take place meant she condoned their behavior to be acceptable. Also, as a teacher, she had the power to influence the students and teach them that any form of cruelty is wrong. Using perhapsing from a first person point of view, Murphy states that trying to justify bad deeds for good is cruel. Describing an image of Connie and her mother at the 7 Eleven, Murphy is showing that Connie told a white lie about her father s job: All this changed in mid October when Connie s father got a job at a candy factory, news Connie announced tentatively one rainy day... this makes the reader consider if Connie was doing a bad deed by telling a lie for good (382). Also, Murphy makes one question Connie s mother because even though she was trying to help Connie, condoning a lie teaches Connie that justifying a bad deed for one s own good is acceptable Her mother was filling a cardboard box (with candy) (383). Murphy s article makes one wonder if there is a middle ground for right and wrong, but there is not and trying to justify wrong for good is cruel. Murphy explains how justifying bad deeds for good is wrong by painting vivid images of her characters and brings them to life with choice words. Murphy describes Arpi s accent and uses metaphoric words

The atmosphere of informality was perhaps most critical among GE s top leadership, where the confidence that came from being in familiar company encouraged executives to openly praise or criticize each other. Welch consistently forced executives to bicker in meetings, the idea being to force management to know their businesses, processes, and issues thoroughly before engaging in discussion with the boss. Under such conditions Welch could determine a manager s level of dedication or passion for a plan or policy by noting the extent to which he was willing to argue. • 40. The Church As The Good News Of Salvation Essay Persecution was a continuous problem for the early church as the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ began to spread. One of the most zealous persecutors of the early church determined to stop the proliferation of this message was a Pharisee named Saul of Tarsus. Therefore, to demonstrate that salvation and redemption are for everyone, Jesus called Saul to help spread the Gospel. This calling was so important that Luke described it three times in Acts. First, in Acts 9:1 30, then again as Paul speaks before a Jewish crowd in Acts 22:3 21, and finally before Jewish King Agrippa as a defense given by Paul in Acts 26:2 23. Luke wanted his readers to understand that while Saul of Tarsuswas a zealous persecutor of Christians, his calling/conversion to Christianitycauses an enormous growth in the Christian church. Saul was born in the city of Tarsus in Cilicia (in modern day Turkey). His parents were Jewish who possessed Roman citizenship. According to Harrer, his father, or some more distant male ascendant, must have been made Roman either by the grant of freedom, if he were a slave, or by naturalization, if he were a free provincial or foreigner This coveted privilege would also extend to Saul. In addition to being a Roman citizen, Saul s father was a Pharisee which Saul would also eventually become. It is believed that Saul and his family moved to Jerusalem at some point during Saul s childhood. In Acts 22:3, Saul comments about Jerusalem being his boyhood home.

In the sense that they could not possibly be good people if the did not live for God instead of themselves. Atheists were not the only group of people who were disliked even Quakers and Jews who did not share the same God were looked down upon. Jonathan Edwards made the message clear in his sermon that those who did not go to church and live for God were enemies of God. The church and its followers started to make the idea known to others that God would send them to hell for entirety unless they came back to God as quickly as possible and repented. In his famous sermon Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God . His metaphors including those about hell, the wrath of God and the unworthiness of humans is successful in scaring the unrepentant to turn back to God and as for forgiveness.
