Othello As A Tragic Hero Essay
Writing an essay on the topic "Othello as a Tragic Hero" can be a challenging yet intellectually
rewarding task. Exploring the intricacies of Shakespeare's play requires a deep understanding of
the character of Othello, his tragic flaws, and the elements that contribute to his downfall.
Analyzing Othello's nobility, the fatal flaws that lead to his tragic end, and the impact of external
forces on his fate demands a comprehensive grasp of literary analysis.
Crafting a compelling essay involves delving into the complexities of Othello's character,
examining the dynamics of his relationships, and dissecting the thematic elements that define him
as a tragic hero. The task requires a careful exploration of the play's context, historical
background, and the psychological dimensions of Othello's character.
Moreover, discussing the tragic hero concept itself involves a nuanced approach to literature and
classical storytelling. The essay must navigate through Othello's internal conflicts, external
pressures, and the consequences of his fatal decisions. It requires a balance between textual
evidence, critical analysis, and an understanding of the broader literary tradition of tragic heroes.
Assembling a coherent and insightful essay on this topic demands not only a profound familiarity
with "Othello" but also the ability to articulate one's thoughts effectively. The writer needs to
interpret the play's nuances, convey a deep understanding of the tragic hero archetype, and
provide a compelling argument supported by textual evidence.
In conclusion, tackling the essay topic "Othello as a Tragic Hero" is a demanding intellectual
endeavor. It necessitates a keen analytical eye, a thorough understanding of Shakespearean
literature, and the ability to articulate complex ideas in a coherent manner. While the process
may be challenging, the end result can be a rich and insightful exploration of one of literature's
most iconic tragic figures.

1. A large amount of construction and building work was going on in the city.
Unfortunately for the people, construction meant delays, but all for a good end result.
Construction delays elsewhere on the grounds were especially frustrating (pg 167)
Chicago is booming with new buildings and constructions sights everywhere. This
quote shows the work of construction that is all over the city.
2. No one could bear the idea of the White City lying empty and desolate. A
Cosmopolitan writer said, Better to have it vanish suddenly, in a blaze of glory, than
fall into gradual disrepair and dilapidation. There is no more melancholy spectacle
than a festal hall, the morning after the banquet, when the guests have departed and
the lights are extinguished. (pg 59) This quote shows just how important the fair was
to the dreary city of Chicago. It seems that everyone was putting their faith and
every scrap of love into the fair. Everyone wanted it to turn out perfect, everyone
thought it was going to rock the world, and it did, just not in the way people hoped.

No one told Burnham about the fire, no one told him of the cancellations, and no

secrets that are kept. In some cases, such as the one mentioned in the quote above,
the secrets are kept for the best. In other cases, mainly regarding Holmes, the
secrets that are being kept are deadly. In the creation of the fair, some of the details
of the constructions or failures of the buildings were kept from Burnham and
occasionally other workers. The details were kept secret because they could be dealt
with without adding stress to anyone but those who were directly involved. Most of
these secrets didn t end up leading to any disasters, but unfortunately the secrets being
kept around the murder castle were quite disastrous. The secrets were a direct link to
making the fair a complete failure, and in turn made the Black City that much
Bystander Research Paper
A. The term bystander refers to the phenomenon in which the greater the numbers
of people present, the less likely people are to help a person in distress. When an
emergency situation occurs, observers are more likely to take action if there are
few or no other witnesses, but in other cases the observers are most likely to be
ignorant either because they don t want to intervene or feel as if it s not there
responsibility to take action.
B. Bystander is important because it s safe for people to know the actions certain

Furthermore, the bystander effect has impact our society because now in present

The Effects of Gatorade on Athletic Performance
When athletes are training or competing, it is apparent that they sometimes benefit by
consuming various drinks that contain water, carbohydrate and electrolytes. This can
assist and improve an athlete s performance, and it may reduce physiological stress on
an athlete s cardiovascular, central nervous and muscular systems. During endurance
events Gatorade is an effective drinkto have in order for the athlete to sustain their
maximum energy throughout the competition. Gatorade has been proven to reduce
the risk of hyponatraemia, improve endurance performance if consumed during
training or competition and it allows fast release of fluid to the tissue as well as
rapid fluid absorption.
Hyponatraemia is a disorder in fluid electrolyte stability that results in an unusual low
plasma sodium concentration. A continuous decrease in plasma sodium
concentration upsets the osmotic balance across the blood brain barrier, ensuing in
an direct entry of water into the brain. This causes brain swelling and a flow of
gradually more severe neurological responses such as confusion, seizure, coma which
can result in death from break of the brainstem. The faster and lower the blood
sodium falls, the greater the risk of life threatening consequences. (Eichner, 2003).
Athletes who drink too much water before and during exercise (high endurance) in
warm and humid weather are at a higher risk of developing hyponatraemia. In
addition, bigger athletes are not resistant to hyponatraemia but smaller
Chrysler s Observable Artifacts
Three distinct layers compose the culture of any organization. Observable artifacts
make up the first layer. Artifacts are the physical manifestations of an organization
s culture (Kreitner Kinicki, 2013, p.84). Observable artifacts can range from
awards in the lobby at the corporate headquarters to team building displays in
shared spaces. From an outsider s perspective, the most easily accessible view of
Chrysler s observable artifacts is found on their website www.chrysler.com. A section
highlights many awards received for safety (Choose, 2017). An interactive timeline

Espoused values represent the explicitly state values and norms that are preferred
by an organization (Kreitner Kinicki, 2013, p.84). According to Chrysler s job
website, their espoused values are Innovation, Leadership, Passion, Cooperation and
Responsibility (Our Culture, 2017). Sergio Marchionne, CEO of Chrysler
Corporation, delivered a speech to the Automotive News World Conference in 2010.
In this speech, he stressed the need for a flattening of the organizational structure at
Chrysler so that innovative ideas could reach the appropriate levels to be acted upon
instead of dying on the desks of mid level executives who are change averse
(Marchionne, 2010). Marchionne said that being a meritocracy founded the revival at
Fiat (Marchionne, 2010). Another of his key points was that change must be accepted
and embraced in order for the organization to thrive (Marchionne, 2010). A key value
illustrated in his speech was that the industry must be accountable (Marchionne,
Theme Of Supernatural In Macbeth
In William Shakespeare s Macbeth, the supernatural and the role it plays in
motivating characters is present throughout the duration of the play. The supernatural
causes conflict in the play and the prophecies from the witches in act one is the
inciting action. The apparition, Banquos ghost, and the dagger are examples of how
the presence of the supernatural causes conflict. The theme of the supernatural
causing conflict in Macbethplays an important role in the plot of the play.
The witches in Macbeth play a critical important role as at the beginning of the play
the witches describe that all that is fair is foul, and foul is fair (Mac 1.1.10).
Meaning that every thing that is pretty is ugly and everything ugly is pretty. The
witches ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Similarly to many of the witches prophecies, it is worded in such way to steer
Macbeth away from the true meaning of it. In this apparition, macbeth does not
consider the children born of a section, which in shakespeare s time of writing the
play was not considered a true birth and therefore the child was never truly born.
Macbeth makes this mistake, resulting in thinking he would never be killed allowing
him to go into battle naive and blindsided by the falsely interpreted proficy.
The ghosts that are presented in the play also cause a great deal of conflict. When
macbeth sees the dagger in front of him in his soliloquy in act 2 scene 5 before he
kills king Duncan, this is supernatural because he is seeing something that isn t
there. This causes conflict because this dagger ends up being the murder weapon
that is used to kill Duncan. After they find king Duncan assassinated they are
conflicted on why and who did it. They also have to find a new king to take a spot.
After banquo s is killed, macbeth has a dinner party and at the party he sees Banquo
s ghost sitting in his chair. Macbeth is frightened and is fighting with the ghost, this
is supernatural due to it being a ghost and it caused a conflict between the two of
them. In Mr. Polanski s film, Macbeth he sees fleance put on his crown while
macbeth is in bed. This does not occur in the play but it is also supernatural since
macbeth is seeing something happen that is not
The World Is Becoming More Complex Day By Day Essay
Present world is now just like a village and countries are family of that village. In a
word, world is in the hand of human beings today through the blessing of science.
Our world is becoming more complex day by day.so when we take any decision it
must influences other factors. We take different policy or decision everyday by
considering many sites or situation and which has a specific goal or vision. Just like
that recently Bangladeshgovernment introduces SIM(subscriber identification
module) re verification through fingerprint which is called biometric SIM re
verification. It s not an isolated decision or policy, behind it government has some
personal interest or benefits.
Definition of political economy
Political economy is a complex term, consist of politics and economy. So at first we
have to know what politics is and what economy is before discussing political
economy.
Politics: In a word, Politics is the process to increase personal interest or advantage.
General peoples have a common concept about politics that it s always related to
government affair. They also think it means corruption, movement, murder, strike etc.
but this notion is wrong. Politics may be contains in three levels. These are:
1.Micro level or individual level
2.Meso level or national level
3.Macro level or international level
Politics indicates individual or group interests, andit s not always related to
government. It may stay in a single man s everyday life.
Economics: economics is a science
An Essay on Otherness
Nohemi Perea Task2/LCT1 8/01/2012 An individual labeled as the Other is
different and does not fit in. The Other is perceived as lacking essential
characteristics possessed by the group, the Other is almost always seen as lesser or
inferior being and is treated accordingly (The Other, 2009). A group sets guidelines
and if a person does not meet them they will not be accepted as normal . Otherness to
a group represents awkwardness. Although each person does have its own unique
characteristics to prevent from being labeled as the Otheryou must possess common
characteristics within a group. I read This Is What It Means To Say Phoenix, Arizona

Reservation... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even though Thomas helped Victor in many ways Thomas is aware they cannot be
friends after coming back from Arizona. After their journey Thomas does not expect
anything in return. Thomas tells Victor, I know you ain t going to treat me any
better than you did before (Alexie,1994). I know your friends would give you too
much shit about it (Alexie,1994). It is also apparent that the author realizes it is not
nice to treat people as Others but we still do. Even though Victor
seems to appreciate all the things Thomas has done for him it is not easy to accept
him as a friend.
How would I deal with otherness? Each year teacher s get a new set of students
these students all bring diversity into the classroom. Unfortunately, not all diversity is
welcomed. As a teacher I will make it a priority to notice, identify and assist a student
who is experiencing otherness. I will need to pay attention to my students
individually. This will enable me to notice any inferiority if any amongst them. One
thing I can absorb is their eye contact. If they tend to turn away or always have their
head down I know I have identified one who is experiencing otherness. I cannot
assume they are experiencing otherness. It is my responsibility to make my students
feel comfortable. This will make a line of communication between them and me.
When I am positive a student is experiencing otherness then I will go into
Medical Billers And Coders Essay
Medical billers and coders must pay attention to detail. Medical billers and coders
should have an understanding of anatomy and physiology in order to interpret
medical reports written by healthcare providers. Having knowledge of how the body
s systems work and the principles of physiology will aid medical billers and coders to
correctly codeprovider services and it will also enable them effectively
communicate with the provider in obtaining additional medical documentation
when needed. (Holley, 2012, p. 1). The understanding of anatomy and physiology
also gives medical billers and coders the ability to properly identify and provide a
more accurate diagnosis code for the procedures and services specifically used to
treat certain parts of the body. The understanding of medical reports will impact
medical billers and coders ability to code accurate and timely claims for
reimbursement.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One example is recognizing conditions that may affect a certain region of the body,
such as a patient being diagnosed with rhinosinusitis and was prescribed a two
week regimen of antibiotics. From the medical report, the biller/coder must be able
to apply proficient knowledge of medical terminology. The coder should be able to
break down the medical term rhino sinus itis. The anatomy for rhino is nose, the
physiology of the nose is the lined membranes which is sinus and the condition is (
itis, the inflammation of). Understanding the basic body function enables the biller
/coder to translate the provider s medical documentation for correctly coding and
billing. The diagnosis code was always the same for each billing would be for the
initial evaluation of a new patient outpatient or billing and coding for an established
patient
Stephen King Influences
Stephen King is one of today s most popular and best selling horror writers. King
combines the elements of psychological chills and paranormal. He loves to mess
with the heads of his readers, often making them feel sorry for his characters, such
as in stories of Carrie and The Green Mile, which both exhibit supernatural factors.
King also tends to fancy writing from a viewpoint that the readers can get into. The
vast majority of King s stories occur in places his American readers can relate to
personally. It is uncommon to walk the streets and converse with someone who has
not heard the name of Stephen King. King s novels, as well as his movies, are widely
known throughout American culture. King s writing style has evolved throughout
the years... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of King s most famous works, and its fame is partly because of the movie, is
the Green Mile. It has many Christian qualities throughout. The Green Mile, a
large, African American man named John Coffey, seems to mirror the life of Jesus
Christ, although the story is set in the death row area of a depression era prison (
The Writing Style of Stephen King, para 35). The story really hits home with
people about the selflessness of Jesus Christ. For Christians and people who have
a general idea of the Bible, they will understand this story. John Coffey was
prosecuted for from something he did not do. He was a healer of the sick. He used
supernatural powers to help the sick, as he heals one of the Ward s wife who has a
brain tumor towards the end of the novel. In The Green Mile, King uses magical
realism to introduce his readers to supernatural elements taking place in an
ordinary realistic environment (The Writing Styles of Stephen King para 20). In
life we can experience things that do not seem real even though they can happen is
why it is magical to us. Sometimes people feel like they are accused of things do
not do and have to get punished for it, just as Coffey was. John eventually has to die
for the sins he did not commit, but he does not go without first teaching a lesson
Advantages And Disadvantages Of Online Learning
The rise of technological advancements during the past century has introduced e
learning to the extent that virtual learning has now become a trend. In fact, a
common dilemma that new high school graduates might go through is whether to
physically attend university or to just take online classes. It is an essential question to
think about as both options have their advantages and disadvantages. In such cases,
students might tend to choose taking online courses rather than being physically
present in a university, since these online classes are more convenient in some
situations. However, convenience does not always mean good quality and traditional
educationis still more effective than virtual education in terms of discipline, social
interaction,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Bajerano (2008) emphasizes that interacting with other students and faculty in a
regular context influences the students success and experience. Students who take
online classes will miss out on this interaction since the only way to communicate
with the instructor will be via video and internet. Consequently, they will not have the
opportunity of seeing professors during their office hours and ask about possible
doubts that they could have (Bjerano, 2008). This may lead to an incomplete
understanding of the material. Another drawback of online classes is the inability of
students to ask the professor direct questions and not have the opportunity to work
through any difficulties by discussing learning concepts using the classroom board,
for example. As a result, students would probably rely on themselves to find the
answers to such questions. Additionally, online learners would not be able to avail of
the on campus learning centers in which students can discuss their doubts; therefore,
the students understanding of the subject is reinforced (Bajerano, 2008). Similarly,
online learners would not be able to benefit from interacting with other peers because
the element of group work, which helps students keep up their learning motivation
and gain assistance while studying, would be
Bones Never Lie By Kathy Reichs
Bones Never Lie is a fictional novel written by Kathy Reichs. This novel focuses on
two main characters Dr. Temperance Brennan and Detective Andrew Ryan. The two
are trying to solve a murder case just been linked to one thousands of miles away.
They linked these two to the murder because both of the children had facial tissue
under their fingernails, and it matched one another. The two bodies have lots of
things in common, other than the facial tissue. For one, they were posed nicely, and
had everything perfect when their bodies were found. Near the beginning of the novel
, they are able to rule out a man as a killer because of how well taken care of the girls
were. As Dr. Brennan gains more evidence, they can link more cases to the... Show

That was just a set up, though. The real killer is revealed later on in the story, and
it turns out to be the survivor Tawny McGee. She is the one who killed Pomerleau,
and she started killing others as well. She set up Ajax and placed evidence in his
car that would get him interrogated. McGee is holding someone hostage, and
threatening to kill them. While Detective Ryan is asking her questions to get her to
let the hostage go, it is revealed that McGee has Stockholm Syndrome. She had
fallen in love with her kidnapper even though she was tortured by her. She got
caught off guard and is arrested. The book has a happy ending, with detective Ryan
proposing to Dr. Brennan at a dinner.
One piece of evidence that was used to help catch the killer, was the facial tissue
under the victim s fingernails (pg. 9). This would be biological evidence because it
came from a living thing, and the person can be identified with DNA. It would also be
circumstantial evidence because nobody saw the facial tissue being placed there
or getting under the fingernails. This would also be classified as trace evidence
because it can easily be transferred from one place to another. This evidence was
used to help catch the bad guy. Since it was found on another victim thousands of
miles away, it was easily linked to both murders. The facial tissue was found under
the fingernails of the victim at the first crime scene. It also helps catch the bad guy
My Vision Of The Social Work Field
My vision of the social work field is being able to help people in need and being
the person that people can look back on and remember as a huge help in time of
need. I think my core values and beliefs will help me be an effective social worker
and help me succeed in this field. It is in my belief that a person should never be
knocked down when they are going through hardships, and rather empowering
them. I also believe that not everyone could be a social worker because it takes a
certain kind of empathetic and self aware person. I truly believe that my
upbringing has humbled me to understand and not be judgmental of people s
issues since I ve seen a lot in my short twenty one years. I think a core value that
aligns and is very useful in the field that I acquire is being aware of a person s
dignity and worth. I am the kind of person that treats a very wealthy person and a
homeless person equally, I don t believe that people are better than others in any
circumstance. I also grew up in an extremely diverse community which has allowed
me to think broadly and not have a person s culture, ethnicity, or other differences
effect my perception of them. Social workers treat each person in a caring and
respectful fashion, mindful of individual differences and cultural and ethnic diversity
(NASW, 2008). I think this is one of the most important values in social workbecause
a worker simply cannot provide the best service if their differences can t be put to the
side. I believe
The Battle of Agincourt Essay
The Battle of Agincourt occurred in the middle Ages, on October 25, 1415. This
battle is one of the most memorable and strategically fought battles between England
and France. The Battle of Agincourt involved England and France near Agincourt.
The Battle of Agincourt happened during the Hundred Years War . The hundred year
War began in 1337 and ended in 1453. The hundred years war actually lasted 116
years. The Hundred Years war included England, France and later Burgundy.
Sometimes England won the battles and sometimes France won (Keegan 79).
The Battle of Agincourt happened because of The Treaty of Bretigny. The Treaty of

In 1405, King Henry IV got sick and Prince Hall took over most of his duties until
his death in 1413. Prince Hal became King, took on the name of King Henry V.
King Henry V fell into his role as king quickly, and got involved in other battles prior
to the Battle of Agincourt that prepared him for that battle (Middle Ages.org).
King Henry V wanted to continue the negotiations with France and made some
demands that the French thought was ridiculous. King Henry V was willing to give
up some items in the Treaty but only if France paid 1.6 million crowns; part of the
debt owed his ancestors for the capture of John II. In addition, he wanted the France
to give up Aquitaine, Normandy, Touraine, Anjou, Brittany, Flanders and other
territories. King Henry would marry the Princess of France, King Charles VI
daughter and received pay of 600,000 crowns (Keegan 80).
France refused to negotiate; so King Henry asked the Parliament to tax France for
the inheritance that they owed him. France ignored England s demands. On April 14,
1415, King Henry V asked the Parliament to sanction war against France. The
Parliament agreed and the Battle with France will soon follow. England was
preparing for the Battle of Agincourt (Middle Ages.org).
King Henry V began to inspire his army with speeches that gave them pride, courage
and hope. Shakespeare s St. Crispen s Day Speech puts in perspective how Henry V
led his army to fight the French.
The title of the speech was in honor of two
Guns By Sunday Night Live And The Daily Show
Gun violence is a serious issue in America; over 30,000 people are killed each year
with semi automatic weapons, and yet steps to make firearms less accessible to the
public have been slow moving through the nation s legislature. Many bills proposing
background checks for anyone purchasing a firearm have been blocked by Congress
in recent years, despite the fact that [America has] a pattern now of mass
shootings...that has no parallel anywhere else in the world (Chalabi). In two different
yet distinct videos, both Saturday Night Liveand The Daily Show use Horatian
satirical techniques such as understatement, burlesque, and repartee to draw attention
to the need for stronger guncontrol in the United States.
In both the skit Guns by Saturday Night Live as well as Good Guy With a Gun by
The Daily Show, understatement is used as a key tactic to draw attention the America
s unsafe and dangerously lax requirements for owning a firearm. In Guns, the
understatement highlights how Americans have grown used to seeing guns in their
everyday lives, conveying that since guns are there in the little moments, people
have grown blind to the danger inherent to to the presence of firearms (SNL). The
fact that assault weapons are so common in American life is clearly a strong
contributor to the nation s high gun violence rates, and Guns conveys this point
simply and clearly. Understatement is also used in Good Guy With a Gun, primarily
to display the logical fallacies behind the arguments

Tristan portrays of his father is very blind. Throughout Tristan s life Tony wasn t the

It s ok to want to be like those that raised you or brought you up but you don t have
to do everything they did to turn out like them. The main goal in life is to be better
and bring higher honor to those before and to yourself by doing better for yourself
and your children than they could ever do. Progress should always be the goal in
life. There are some cases where parents try to live their lives through their kids
because of unfulfilled ambitions. I feel that that s wrong everybody and everything
has its own purpose. Like in the story Tony was once a well known small town
athlete that had aspirations in being a business man basically because it was good

he wanted until everything concerning his relationship with Tristan, Nitra and Kay

The Negative Influence of Television on Children
For decades there has been debate as to how television media affects our children.
Many parents have been concerned since the beginning of television. Through
extensive research over the last few decades, television has been thought to
desensitize and have detrimental effects on our children, which inhibits them from
developing feelings of security, compassion, diplomacy, and discernment. Television
watching also promotes violence, unsafe sexual practices, and eating disorders in
children.
According to Muscari, the average American child spends approximately 28 hours
per week watching television. By the time a child reaches the age of 18 they will
have seen 16,000 murders and 200,000 other acts of violence. American media is the

Television continues to use the marketability of sex sells. Programming aimed at teen

Often when teenagers are first becoming interested in sex they rarely get information
from their parents. It is all too common that they receive these messages from friends,
television and other forms of media. Often they are tuned into prime time television,
which 80% of the programs contain sexual content. Frequently, characters are shown
having spur of the moment sex, and are rarely shown taking steps to avoid pregnancy
and sexually transmitted diseases (Beck 535).
Time and again, television media contributes to family violence and children perceive

African American Education System Research Paper
Ah, graduation!. The day many look forward to seeing after four years of sleepless
nights, irritating teachers and endless work. However, the dream achieved by many
remains a dream to most students. According to the government, African American
have a 77 percent chance of graduating high school in Maryland. While their white
peers have 90 percent (Governing). A 13% difference. The first question to ask
what created the gap. From our history, we recall African American never had a fair

Mars is an interesting and mysterious planet. It is often referred to as the Red
Planet. The Romans named Mars after the god of war. The rocks, soil, and sky all
have a red hue on account of rust. Mars is the fourth planet from the sun at about 141
million miles (228 million kilometers) and the last terrestrial planet from the Sun.
Mars follows closely behind Earth but is comparatively smaller, with about half
the diameter of Earth (6,794 km) and about one tenth of Earth s mass (6.419 x
1023 kg). Thus the force of gravity on Mars is about one third of that on Earth.
Mars is probably the planet we know the most about since it is so close to Earth,

Marquis De Lafayette Characteristics
Marquis de Lafayette was one of the biggest figures in American Revolution
history. Lafayette was a volunteer soldier in the American Revolution, he came
with the sole purpose of avenging his father s death against the English in the
French and Indian wars. He soon grew to believe in the patriot s beliefs of freedom
and equality. Lafayette said, Defender of Liberty I idolize, myself more free than
anyone, as coming as a friend to offer my services to this intriguing republic...
(Vowell 16). He also showed great zeal for the cause of liberty (Vowell 1) which later
helped him move up through the ranks to the position of major general. The young
Frenchman s first battle was the Battle of Brandywine, where he fought alongside the
prestigious George Washington. In this battle he was shot in the leg and had to
leave; but he cut short his recovery time so he could continue fighting. Lafayette s
fervor for the war won him the highly desired trust of General George Washington,
which then led him to be one of the most esteemed generals of all time. His
dedication inspired many other French soldiers to join the American cause. He was
both a vocal defender and a great example by his leadership and courage in the
Revolutionary War. His most important battle was the Battle of Yorktown in 1781.
With his royal relations in France, he was able to transfer extra French military
officers and ships to aid the Americans in this momentous battle. Lafayette s skilled

Genetics when genes dominates in someone s physical and physiologic characteristic,
it always carry the advantageous and disadvantageous imprints of the past

there are genetic dispositions that make an individual susceptible to cellulite
formation like polymorphisms of ACE (angiotensin converting enzyme) and hypoxia
inducible factor 1A or H1F1 genes.

Real Teammates in the Game of Basketball Essay
Basketball is supposed to be a team sport. A team can constant of ten or twelve
players but only five can compete at a team. Five players on the court working
together to win. Teammates are supposed to have their teammates back. Fight to
the very end for their team to get a win. This is not always true. Players have their
own way of doing things. They think a team should be like this or that, but they are
players who do the right things for the team. I have experienced this from my team.

The thing about Limitless LeBrons is they give everything they have at all times.
They show great hustle and work ethics. For example, Devoted Darrell goes and

work out with the team to better than the last year. During the season, he stays late

Limitless LeBron show great hustle and work ethic, but the desire to win and be
great. Most Limitless LeBrons go on to play college basketball. This is built up from
all their hard work, but more importantly the desire to win. They strive to be great
and not settling for average. Most of them give up their personal goals and focus on
the team s goal. For instance, Generous Gerry gave up his shot attempts for a better
shot. Generous Gerry is our best player. He could easily average twenty points a game
, but rather force shots to get his points he passes the ball off for a better shot.
Giving our team a better chance to win. Limitless LeBrons are hard to come by,
but everybody has at least one on the team. It is rewarding to have one on the team
because of their great hustle and work ethic and desire to be great. The worst group
on my team is the Paparazzi Peters teammates. Everyone will have one. They are the
ball hogs. The teammate no one wants on their team because they believe they are the
superstar. They could be great
Culture In Black Girl
Introduction
The Culture of Film is uniquely powerful and greatly influences society. Cinema
provides access to locations, individual life situations and the understanding of
national and international culture. The generalization of realism with politics,
religious elements, and expressionism all come together for a melodramatic narrative.
Characters provide the audience with an inside view of the narrative through location,
tone and humor. Together these elements make cinema a societal changing entity full
of promise for all generations.

The Performance Of The Symphony
Barenboim s Beethoven s 9th was a BBC production of the Beethoven s last
symphony. The buildup to the final performance is great and this is partly explained
by the fact that Beethoven s 9th was different in that it contained song and chorus.
Daniel Barenboim will be conducting the West Eastern Divan Orchestraat the Royal
Albert Hall. The hall is beautifully decorated for the occasion. The main theme of the
symphonyrevolved around the human conditions and unity (Swafford, 2014).
I think the performance of the orchestra was above average. I enjoyed all aspect
from when the conductor was welcomed by members of the orchestra to when the
choir joined towards the grand finale. Both the orchestra and the audience played
their role exceptionally. I watched the orchestra play over and over trying to grasp
the meaning of every movement while enjoying the choral. By looking at the
members of the large orchestra I could tell they were eager to please. Also the fact
that they had rehearsed gave them confidence which was fully in display.
On the day of the rehearsals, I see people everywhere (on the orchestra and audience
setting) mingling with each other and the murmurs take over the hall. The orchestra
is about to begin rehearsing for what will be the last symphony. I notice that the
orchestra is composed of young and older people of different ethnicity. Even the
audience display this diversity in terms of age, gender and ethnicity. This goes to
show that orchestra is not

A samurai is a very tough opponent towards a knight if they were to create a battle.
The knight would overpower the samurai in the end because of their abilities and

knights have an advantage is because they had better support in their armor. In a

that the suits of metal would be more protective and more difficult to penetrate into
the knights skin. As well as making the knight feel more confident going into battle

Essay On Animism And The Contributions Of Thales,...
In the early times, before the beginning of human civilization and development of
philosophy, people believed in the idea that Gods, who basically controlled every
individual aspect of human existence, controlled the world. Some primitive people
believed in the idea of Animism, or Hylozoism. (The belief that everything in the
universe, especially material objects, have some kind of soleor is a living being.)
These people believed that rocks, trees, and water had some kind of sole. Animism

Anaximander believed in the theory of apieron. Apieron is the unlimited, indeficit,
indestructible substance out of which individual things are created with and destroyed.
Although he believed apieron was real, he also believed that it was unexplainable. It
would be like saying that the letter W explained the alphabet. He also believed that
the formation of the world was due to the separation of opposites, and that the
opposites were constantly at war. With these factors, he believed that moderation is
the key to success.
Although some of his theories were proved wrong, Anaximander was the first person
to brush the theory of evolution and was the father of Astronomy and cosmology.
Many of
Anaximander s accomplishments are still regarded today.
Anaximenes was another Greek philosopher who lived around the time of
Anaximander. He was Anaximander s most notable student, but disagreed with
Anaximander on many levels. Anaximenes disagreed with the notion of apieron, but
went back a generation of thought to Thales ideas on the substance of which life is
made.
Anaximenes ideas were much different from the ideas of Thales because Anaximenes
believed that air was the ultimate substance, rather than water or apieron. Anaximenes
introduced the ideas of condensation and rarifacation. To prove this theory he said
that when air is rarified, it becomes
The Republic Of Rwand A Nation Of Middle East Africa
The Republic of Rwanda is a sovereign nation in Middle East Africa that is filled
with a rich history that dates back to the 19th century. Kingship in Rwanda started
well before Germany s colonization in 1897. The indigenous state was governed
through a central monarchy, and relied heavily on the kings predecessors of one of
the three royal dynasties and spiritual protection from havoc and misfortune. The
king, also, ruled alongside the Queen Mother , who served an important role in
carrying out executive orders. The kings descendants were referred to as Tutsi; and

missionaries, especially the Roman Catholic Church, were the brain and hands of the

when the first mission arrived and settled in Rwanda. The mission was established by
the Society of Our Lady of Africa, commonly known as the White Fathers. Monsignor

successfully in a society, missionaries should focus their efforts at conversion first
and foremost on political authorities. If chiefs and kings could be convinced to adopt

Evaluate the role of Leon Trotsky in Bolshevik success in...
Leon Trotsky played a very significant role in the Bolshevik success in the period
1917 1924. According to A.J Koutsoukis , his contributions in the years 1917 to
1924 had been second, if not equal to that of Lenin himself. Trotsky played a
significant role in establishing Bolshevik control in Russia. He was also very
instrumental and one of the reasons for the Red Army winning the civil war.
Trotsky was regarded by his supporters as the saviour for his country for his efforts
in organising the Red Army during the Civil War. According to historian E.H Carr ,
Trotsky was a great administrator, great intellectual, and a great orator... but at times

An army had to be organised supplied and led effectively. As leader of the Supreme
Military Council, Trotsky was able to repair the Red army from an undisciplined
volunteer force without officers, into a regular army with conscription and severe
discipline imposed by former imperial officers, and even those soldiers within the
army. Trotsky undertook to conjure an army of noticeable void. The armed forces
of the old regime had vanished, and the number of men was extremely low, and
unimpressive. From slender beginnings grew the Red Army which, after two and a
half years, had five million men under arms. He introduced a regime of Terror, and
he created policies for within the army that included Anyone who incites anybody to
retreat, to desert, or to not fulfil orders will be shot .
Former officers or military specialists of the Czar regime were invited by Trotsky to
act as instructors. Political commissars were appointed to these military specialists to
ensure loyalty. As a result of this strict regime, Trotsky was able to create a united

possible threat to the new communist government. Due to the leadership of Trotsky,
the Red Armies were victorious over the Whites. The White Army could never gain

Insect Pollinators And Its Effects On The World
There are several different species of insect pollinators, but the bees in general make
up sixty two percent of them. Honeybees make up thirty nine percent of that number,
and the other twenty three is composed of several different species of bees.
According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, one third of the homo sapiens diet
is insectpollinated and honeybees are accountable for eighty percent of the
pollination of that one third. The population of the honeybees in the United States
has been noticeably declining from the late 1990 s, so the threat to the majority of
the world food supply is slowly increasing as our pollinators population decreases.
Bees aren t the only insect pollinators in the world, but they are by far the most
widespread ones. Despite this, non bee insect pollinators have a contributing factor
to the success of pollination that the bees themselves don t. There have been studies
on the success of the pollination and seeding of flowers and plants. Bees have a
fairly average success rate, focusing more on spreading the pollination farther afield
than the success of the seeding . Non bee insects tend to stay in a small ranged area
that allows them to visit the same flowers more often, thus increasing the success of
their visits.
Non bee insect pollinators include flies, beetles, moths, butterflies, wasps, ants, birds,
and bats, just to name a few. Furthermore, they are far less reliant upon their natural
habitats, allowing them to quickly
A Streetcar Named Desire By Susan Glaspell
In any great story, one can find a unique trait that sets it apart from all others. Susan
Glaspell s Trifles would be incomplete if not for the lonely farmhouse. Romeo and
Juliet is nothing if not a tragedy about star crossed lovers. The tales that we now
know as classics received that label because something about them was just too great
to ignore. Although many dramas and stories often find strengths in their story or
setting, A Streetcar Named Desire demonstrates the significance of powerful
characters. Specifically, Blanche DuBoisis arguably the most essential character to
the plot. Raised on a plantation among the wealthy, she is a ringing example of
sophistication and femininity. The way she speaks and acts portray this, as her
words are more often than not poetic in nature and almost too flawless. She s also
able to use her words to manipulate others, especially when it comes to dodging
questions about her mysterious past. All in all, Blanche is a truly well crafted
character because of how unique and unalike she is to any of the other characters in
A Streetcar Named Desire, and most of it can be attributed to her distinctive voice.
Blanche s character is, as a whole, excessively poetic and complicated in the way she
talks. Her pattern of speechserves to reflect her comfortable upbringing and status as
a more refined and elite citizen when compared to the other characters of the play.
Specifically, when speaking to Mitch, Blanche uses poetic speech to make

better. Detroit had 316 murders in 2013, a rate of 45 per 100,000 people. That s the
highest rate among cities with populations over 100,000. In 2013 Detroit also
reported 14,504 violent crimes. That s also the highest per capita rate in the nation,
according to the annual report. The total is comprised of rapes, murder, robbery and
aggravated assault.
The number of homicides peaked in 1974 at 714 and again in 1991 with 615. By
the end of 2010, the homicide count fell to 308 for the year with an estimated
population of just over 900,000, the lowest count and rate since 1967. However,
taken in context by population, Detroit remains as a city with one of the highest
rates per capita for homicide in the United States. In April 2008, the city unveiled a
$300 million stimulus plan to create jobs and revitalize neighborhoods, financed by
city bonds and paid for by earmarking about 15% of the wagering tax. Detroit Mayor
Dave Bing and Police Chief Chester Logan announced at a press
My Rotation For Obstetrics
My rotation for obstetrics was in Brighton, CO at Platte Valley Medical Center. I
was fortunate enough to experience multiple avenues of this field including labor
and delivery and postpartum, but ultimately enjoyed spending most of my time in
there Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). While providing care to one specific
child I was encouraged by my instructor to help provide instruction to the parents in
several different areas, but as I worked with mom and dad to help take care of the
baby I noticed some deficients in the knowledge of care for their child. The most
being about bonding with their child since the child was to remain in an isolette.
The child was born at 33 weeks and 6 days due to mom having HELLP syndrome and

Ultimately, I noticed that the parents were having a hard time by not being able to
hold their baby and bond. NICU care can interfere with the process of bonding
between the family and by not allowing them to touch or hold there baby creates a
rift in the interaction process (Tessier et al., 2009). As time progressed while I was
at clinical the baby was becoming more self sufficient and the suggestion of
kangaroo care came about when mom was trying to breastfeed as well as when they
had to supplement with bottle feedings. When the subject of kangaroo care was
brought up neither mom nor dad had heard of it before. During my time with the
family I felt that they were at risk for impaired parenting related to prolong separation
from the parent as evidence by long amounts of time with no physical contact with
the baby. It was clear that both mom and dad were emotionally stressed by not being
able to provide basic needs for their newborn, and physical contact was restricted to
small amounts of touching through the isolette. It was also clear that mom and dad
had still not developed any comfort with independently holding or feeding the baby. I
observed that they wanted to become more comfortable and have more physical
interaction with their child. Overall they wanted to become more integrated into the
physical care of their child.
Princess Zelda In Mortal Kombat
In a community, primarily filled with men were most video games are made by men,
having female video game characters are a rare sight. However, there are a few
characters male gamers look up to, almost as much as Solid Snake or Mario. Here are
the top five greatest females in video games!
Number Five: Kitana, Mortal Kombat
Princess Kitana made her official debut in Mortal Kombat II, and has fought strong
ever since. Although 10,000 years old, she has the appearance of a young woman.
Where she isn t all about hand to hand combat, she relies on her Steel Fan weapon to
tomahawk at other opponents making her one of the most powerful females in
Mortal Kombat, even more powerful than her evil twin Mileena.
Number Four: Princess Zelda, The Legend ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

She s like Princess Peach, but way cooler, because she didn t just have a cry for help,
but a woman who is wise beyond her years. Although not playable in the Legend of
Zelda franchise, she is a character in Super Smash Bros. Melee, Super Smash Bros
Brawl, and Super Smash Bros for 3DS.
Number Three: Madison Paige, Heavy Rain
Madison is one of the four protagonists in Heavy Rain, and is the most mysterious
character in the game. Her character is portrayed as a 27 year old female
photographer and a journalist, who is noted to have severe insomnia, believed to be
from being a journalist in Iraq. Her strong personality truly shined through while
investigating The Origami Killer, and keeping Ethan level headed throughout the
game.
Number Two: Kairi, Kingdom Hearts.
Although ignored greatly in the franchise, Kairi is one of the most important
characters in the game. With Sora and Riku constantly going through different ways
to save her, it was not only cute, but implemented carefully in the game. Kairi alone,
is a very annoying character, but on the contrary, her plotline with Sora was a
tearjerker, whether it be their goodbye, or even the montage at the end of the first

In the stock market, the best stock investment strategies are usually the ones that have
been proven reliable over a period of time and the longer the better. Sadly, in the
investment industry, there are numerous vendors that recommend investment
strategies based on everything from planetary alignment to harmonic price patterns
making the decision on which approach to use incredibly difficult not to mention
frustrating for many investors. Combine that with countless TV shows, newsletters,
and professional advice, it can be next to impossible to find a strategy to help you
achieve your investment goals. Fortunately, there are a few key investment
approaches that have withstood the test of time and most of the great investors
throughout history have used on of these approaches to some degree or another and,
now, so can you.
Decades ago, Benjamin Graham, wrote his book, Security Analysis , based on his

his analysis of a company s intrinsic value which later
Squid And The Whale
The Squid and the Whale
A Critical Analysis
Written and directed by Noah Baumbach, this film is set in Brooklyn, New York
City, 1986. Some critics claim that it is almost autobiographical of Baumbach s life
and the painful and confusing experience he went through when his own parents
were in the process of divorce. The most obvious central theme of the movie is
divorce and the crisis it causes within the family as each member is attempting to
rearrange themselves, both inside their heads and in the outside world. Looking
deeper, the film can also be seen as a coming of age story of two young boys, one on
the verge of his teen years and the other on the verge of young adulthood. What
makes this film special is just how painfully real it is, ... Show more content on

He remembers looking at the squid and the whale exhibit in the Museum, and his
mother explaining it to him. This allows Walt to go back to a time and place of
security with his mother, before everything went out of control. When he revisits
the exhibit, it appears as if he is seeing something that he couldn t see before.
Maybe he sees these two giant creatures as his parents, constantly at war. Maybe he
realizes that picking a side is not a solution as there is no end to the battles he and
his family will have to face. Maybe he finds some peace in the acknowledgement of
what has happened and in the acceptance that things will never be the same. Or
maybe, Walt realizes that he may be old enough and independent enough to confront
his parents and see the wrong that they are doing, but at the same time, he also
realizes how desperately he needs them and how closely his happiness and sadness is
entangled with

In the creation of the fair, some of the details of the constructions or failures of the buildings were kept from Burnham and occasionally other workers. The details were kept secret because they could be dealt with without adding stress to anyone but those who were directly involved. Most of these secrets didn t end up leading to any disasters, but unfortunately the secrets being kept around the murder castle were quite disastrous. The secrets were a direct link to making the fair a complete failure, and in turn made the Black City that much

  • 7. The Effects of Gatorade on Athletic Performance When athletes are training or competing, it is apparent that they sometimes benefit by consuming various drinks that contain water, carbohydrate and electrolytes. This can assist and improve an athlete s performance, and it may reduce physiological stress on an athlete s cardiovascular, central nervous and muscular systems. During endurance events Gatorade is an effective drinkto have in order for the athlete to sustain their maximum energy throughout the competition. Gatorade has been proven to reduce the risk of hyponatraemia, improve endurance performance if consumed during training or competition and it allows fast release of fluid to the tissue as well as rapid fluid absorption. Hyponatraemia is a disorder in fluid electrolyte stability that results in an unusual low plasma sodium concentration. A continuous decrease in plasma sodium concentration upsets the osmotic balance across the blood brain barrier, ensuing in an direct entry of water into the brain. This causes brain swelling and a flow of gradually more severe neurological responses such as confusion, seizure, coma which can result in death from break of the brainstem. The faster and lower the blood sodium falls, the greater the risk of life threatening consequences. (Eichner, 2003). Athletes who drink too much water before and during exercise (high endurance) in warm and humid weather are at a higher risk of developing hyponatraemia. In addition, bigger athletes are not resistant to hyponatraemia but smaller

  • 9. Theme Of Supernatural In Macbeth In William Shakespeare s Macbeth, the supernatural and the role it plays in motivating characters is present throughout the duration of the play. The supernatural causes conflict in the play and the prophecies from the witches in act one is the inciting action. The apparition, Banquos ghost, and the dagger are examples of how the presence of the supernatural causes conflict. The theme of the supernatural causing conflict in Macbethplays an important role in the plot of the play. In this apparition, macbeth does not consider the children born of a section, which in shakespeare s time of writing the play was not considered a true birth and therefore the child was never truly born. Macbeth makes this mistake, resulting in thinking he would never be killed allowing him to go into battle naive and blindsided by the falsely interpreted proficy. The ghosts that are presented in the play also cause a great deal of conflict. When macbeth sees the dagger in front of him in his soliloquy in act 2 scene 5 before he kills king Duncan, this is supernatural because he is seeing something that isn t there. This causes conflict because this dagger ends up being the murder weapon that is used to kill Duncan. After they find king Duncan assassinated they are conflicted on why and who did it. They also have to find a new king to take a spot. After banquo s is killed, macbeth has a dinner party and at the party he sees Banquo s ghost sitting in his chair. Macbeth is frightened and is fighting with the ghost, this is supernatural due to it being a ghost and it caused a conflict between the two of them. In Mr. Polanski s film, Macbeth he sees fleance put on his crown while macbeth is in bed. This does not occur in the play but it is also supernatural since macbeth is seeing something happen that is not

He loves to mess with the heads of his readers, often making them feel sorry for his characters, such as in stories of Carrie and The Green Mile, which both exhibit supernatural factors. King also tends to fancy writing from a viewpoint that the readers can get into. The vast majority of King s stories occur in places his American readers can relate to personally. It has many Christian qualities throughout. The Green Mile, a large, African American man named John Coffey, seems to mirror the life of Jesus Christ, although the story is set in the death row area of a depression era prison ( The Writing Style of Stephen King, para 35). The story really hits home with people about the selflessness of Jesus Christ. For Christians and people who have a general idea of the Bible, they will understand this story. John Coffey was prosecuted for from something he did not do. He was a healer of the sick. He used supernatural powers to help the sick, as he heals one of the Ward s wife who has a brain tumor towards the end of the novel. In The Green Mile, King uses magical realism to introduce his readers to supernatural elements taking place in an ordinary realistic environment (The Writing Styles of Stephen King para 20). In life we can experience things that do not seem real even though they can happen is why it is magical to us. Sometimes people feel like they are accused of things do not do and have to get punished for it, just as Coffey was. It is an essential question to think about as both options have their advantages and disadvantages. Consequently, they will not have the opportunity of seeing professors during their office hours and ask about possible doubts that they could have (Bjerano, 2008). This may lead to an incomplete understanding of the material. Another drawback of online classes is the inability of students to ask the professor direct questions and not have the opportunity to work through any difficulties by discussing learning concepts using the classroom board, for example. As a result, students would probably rely on themselves to find the answers to such questions. Additionally, online learners would not be able to avail of the on campus learning centers in which students can discuss their doubts; therefore, the students understanding of the subject is reinforced (Bajerano, 2008). Lafayette was a volunteer soldier in the American Revolution, he came with the sole purpose of avenging his father s death against the English in the French and Indian wars. He soon grew to believe in the patriot s beliefs of freedom and equality. Lafayette said, Defender of Liberty I idolize, myself more free than anyone, as coming as a friend to offer my services to this intriguing republic... (Vowell 16). He also showed great zeal for the cause of liberty (Vowell 1) which later helped him move up through the ranks to the position of major general. The young Frenchman s first battle was the Battle of Brandywine, where he fought alongside the prestigious George Washington. In this battle he was shot in the leg and had to leave; but he cut short his recovery time so he could continue fighting. Lafayette s fervor for the war won him the highly desired trust of General George Washington, which then led him to be one of the most esteemed generals of all time. The buildup to the final performance is great and this is partly explained by the fact that Beethoven s 9th was different in that it contained song and chorus. Daniel Barenboim will be conducting the West Eastern Divan Orchestraat the Royal Albert Hall. The hall is beautifully decorated for the occasion. The main theme of the symphonyrevolved around the human conditions and unity (Swafford, 2014). I think the performance of the orchestra was above average. I enjoyed all aspect from when the conductor was welcomed by members of the orchestra to when the choir joined towards the grand finale. Both the orchestra and the audience played their role exceptionally. I watched the orchestra play over and over trying to grasp the meaning of every movement while enjoying the choral. By looking at the members of the large orchestra I could tell they were eager to please. Also the fact that they had rehearsed gave them confidence which was fully in display. On the day of the rehearsals, I see people everywhere (on the orchestra and audience setting) mingling with each other and the murmurs take over the hall. The orchestra is about to begin rehearsing for what will be the last symphony. I notice that the orchestra is composed of young and older people of different ethnicity. Even the audience display this diversity in terms of age, gender and ethnicity. This goes to show that orchestra is not

According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, one third of the homo sapiens diet is insectpollinated and honeybees are accountable for eighty percent of the pollination of that one third. The population of the honeybees in the United States has been noticeably declining from the late 1990 s, so the threat to the majority of the world food supply is slowly increasing as our pollinators population decreases. Despite this, non bee insect pollinators have a contributing factor to the success of pollination that the bees themselves don t. There have been studies on the success of the pollination and seeding of flowers and plants. Bees have a fairly average success rate, focusing more on spreading the pollination farther afield than the success of the seeding . Non bee insects tend to stay in a small ranged area that allows them to visit the same flowers more often, thus increasing the success of their visits. All in all, Blanche is a truly well crafted character because of how unique and unalike she is to any of the other characters in A Streetcar Named Desire, and most of it can be attributed to her distinctive voice. Blanche s character is, as a whole, excessively poetic and complicated in the way she talks. Her pattern of speechserves to reflect her comfortable upbringing and status as a more refined and elite citizen when compared to the other characters of the play. Specifically, when speaking to Mitch, Blanche uses poetic speech to make
