Essay On Village And City Life
Writing an essay on the topic of "Village and City Life" presents its own set of challenges. This
theme requires a deep exploration of two contrasting lifestyles, demanding a comprehensive
understanding of both village and city dynamics. The task involves delving into various aspects,
such as social, economic, cultural, and environmental factors that differentiate these two settings.
One of the difficulties lies in striking a balance between highlighting the unique characteristics
of each lifestyle without sounding biased towards one or the other. It requires thorough research
to gather accurate information about village life, including close-knit communities, traditional
practices, and agrarian economies. Similarly, a detailed examination of urban life is necessary,
covering aspects like fast-paced living, diverse cultures, and industrialization.
Maintaining coherence and ensuring a smooth transition between contrasting points can be
challenging. Effectively weaving together the intricate details of village and city life demands a
thoughtful approach to maintain the essay's flow and readability. Additionally, avoiding
generalizations and stereotypes is crucial to present a nuanced and fair portrayal of both
environments.
Furthermore, crafting a compelling introduction and conclusion that encapsulate the essence of
the essay can be demanding. The writer must engage the reader from the outset, providing a
clear roadmap for the exploration of village and city life. The conclusion should synthesize the
key points and leave a lasting impression on the reader.
Despite these challenges, the process of writing an essay on "Village and City Life" can be
rewarding, offering an opportunity to delve into the complexities of human existence in different
settings. It encourages critical thinking, research skills, and the ability to communicate
effectively.
In conclusion, the task of composing an essay on the dynamics of village and city life is
undoubtedly intricate but holds the potential for personal and intellectual growth. For those

NHS Core Values
This assignment will discuss the core values that underpin social and health service
delivery and will compare the current health service provision with health care
services at the inception of the NHS. The NHS has seven core values that aim to
ensure that quality care is delivered to everyone regardless of their gender, religion,
race, age, wealth or sexual orientation. These values have been developed by the
general public, patients and staff, with local authorities having to develop and adapt
these to provide personalised care. These values not only underpin the social and
healthdelivery service, but also influence the legislation regarding care. For example
the Care Act 2014 looks at integrating care, involving the patient and carer... Show

This has not changed in the current NHS, albeit more values have been added to
improve service delivery. The NHS remains free with the exception of some charges,
such as prescriptions, optical and dental services. It covers everything from antenatal
screening and routine treatments for long term conditions, to transplants, emergency
treatment and end of life care.
The National Health Service (NHS) was planned as a three tier structure. With the
Minister of Health at the top and below were the three tiers designed to interact with
each other to suit the needs of the patient. These tiers were voluntary and municipal
hospitals supervised by Regional hospital boards, family doctors, dentists, opticians
and pharmacists who were self employed professionals contracted to the NHS to
provide services so that patients did not pay directly and local health authorities like
community clinics that provided services such as immunisations, maternity care and
school medical services controlled by a local authority Medical Health. The NHS in
England is undergoing some big changes, most of which took effect on April 1 2013.
This included the abolition of primary care trusts (PCTs) and strategic health
authorities (SHAs), and the introduction of clinical commissioning groups (CCGs)
and Health watch England.
From the 1950s onwards the scale and quality of the treatment provided by the
National Health Service (NHS) improved, and between 1948
Racism In The Workplace Essay
Racism is man s greatest threat to man the maximum of natured for a minimum of
reason Abraham Joshua Heschel. Racism is a very serious issue today as well as
in the past. With that being said you will see this all over the world. I m person
against racism. I believe all should be treated equally. I could not imagine the
feeling of being separated because of the color of my skin. In the past and even say
races in the running rapid and workplaces schools and even the churches.
To start off, racismis a large problem in work places. From, the way they treat
blacks compared to whites. As well as people assuming whites are smarter than
blacks. This was more of an issue in the past, but occasionally occurs today. People
went to the extent of forcing blacks to use a separate bathroom. The whites did not
want to have anything to do with the blacks. Blacks needed to work double or even
triple the amount just to show their abilities otherwise they were overlooked. It was
almost as if they put this reputation on blacks. With that being said, this issue is fixed
by the small degrees after Martin Luther King but still occurs on rare occasions. ...

I personally think students categorized by their race instead of their natural abilities is
wrong. Studies show that black students are out down and taught by the less
experienced. Compared to the white students who get the reputation of being smart
and taught by the most experienced. Another example of racism is brought out
through bullying. This example is shown in To Kill a Mocking Bird. A student is
judged about the fact that his father knows a black man. That the amount of extent,
this went to. Not even being friends with just knowing someone. In conclusion,
racism in schools still happens today and is an ongoing
Informed Consent and the Surgical Procedure
INFORMED CONSENT AND THE SURGICAL PATIENT
Informed Consent is obtained before a surgical procedure and in simple terms it
refers to the permission granted by the patient or his guardians to the medical team to
conduct a surgery. This consent is important because surgical procedures can often
lead to complications and they do involve certain risks, therefore the patient must
have complete knowledge of all that he might encounter during or after the
procedure. The surgeon or physician who is responsible for conducting the operation
usually obtains the consent but all healthcare providers involved in the process also
play important roles in this connection. The role of a nurse in the process of
informed consent is largely dependent on the nature of the treatment and the laws of
the organizations. Kay Ely Pierce, MA, RN, JD (1999) writes, The nurse s part in the
process of informed consent is variable. If the consent is being sought for a nursing
procedure or treatment, it is the nurse s responsibility to provide the material
information, assess the patient s decision capacity (ability to understand the
information and make a rational decision based thereon), and execute the appropriate
documentation of informed consent or refusal. (Family and Community Health, pg.

For example a registered nurse is required to understand that he/she can encounter
trouble if the patient feels that the RN, who was in charge of the whole procedure
did not inform him (or those who had been

Abstract
The research question of this extended essay is: To what extend the need of being
perfect leads man to its own destruction? It is an analysis of perfection through the
film The Black Swan. In the film the main character, Nina, is an obsessed ballerina
who at the end destroyed her own life. I began the essay trying to prove that her
obsession with being perfect is what leaded her to her destruction and death, but after
analyzing the movie it all turned around.
I based my investigation in reviews of the film, different type of ... Show more

Or should the question be: which meaning does it have in our society? Is it even
possible to reach perfection, or is it something out of the hands of a human being?
It is true that perfection is something everybody strives for, to help them succeed in
the things they propose for their lives. Many people aspire to be perfect in
different ways, it could be a mother, a student, a teacher or even an artist with that
desire of reaching perfection, but do we know the real meaning of this word?
According to the dictionary one of its meanings is a quality, trait, or feature of the
highest degree of excellence. (Dictionary, 2013) Excellence and perfection are far
from being the same; which is why many people say it is impossible to be perfect
but possible to reach Excellency, because perfection is supposed to exist as an
abstraction of our minds, but not to be attainable in the physical world. (Wais, 2010)
As well as there is people who believe perfection is not attainable, there is also
people who believe that it is possible to reach that, when they give everything they
have. It is a much divided opinion, which will perhaps never come to one only
general conclusion. To succeed in life people must always work hard and sometimes
sacrifice some things they think are important, but putting them in front of another
type of situations they would not be taken as a priority. The majority of these people
who believe in perfection

Sethe s Perception Of Slavery In Beloved By Toni Morrison
Sethe proposes to give Beloved a chance at freedom. In her stream of
consciousness, she justifies her actions by confessing if I hadn t killed her she
would have died and that is something I could not bear to happen to her (Morrison

reality of slaveryShe neglects her own well being for the safety of her children. She
refuses to allow her children to be dirtied by slavery to the point where you forgot
who you were and couldn t think it up (Morrison 250). Morrison shows Sethe s
understanding of how destructive slavery is to one s overall perception of
themselves. Sethe says that her children are her best thing, her beautiful, magical best

How to Use Your Chain of Command
How To Use Your Chain Of Command Why it is important to follow proper
instruction procedures in the military is for many reasons. As a soldier it is our
responsibility to not only follow instruction/orders, but to execute the command. Not
following orders can result into consequences not only for the soldier whom
committed not following instructions, but also it can put others at risk too. Like your
N.C.O. in charge of you, to your Team Leader, to your Section Sergeant, to your
Platoon Sergeant, to your 1st Sergeant, to your Company Commander, to your
Brigade Commander, and so on. Not only can your N.C.O. in charge of you, your
Team Leader, your Section Sergeant, your Platoon Sergeant, your 1st Sergeant, your
Company Commander,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even so like having a simple instruction booklet on how to properly build
something you just bought or visa versa. If you don t follow the instructions
properly you could have an unstructured piece of construction you are working on.
Not following proper instructions/orders and also result in injury, to you, or your
fellow soldier near you or even as working in the civilian world just the same action
could happen a result of injury or in this case being fired. But unlike the Army you
can t get fired, but if the situation is extremely bad you could get a dishonorable
discharge and perhaps too some jail time depending on the situation instruction
/orders you broke or did not follow. Like not wearing a ACH/ Army Combat Helmet
while driving a military vehicle like the LMTV, HumVee, Hemett and so on.
Wearing the proper PPE for driving, shooting at the range, while being in combat in
a combat environment, and anything that would make you have an injury to
yourself, or to your fellow comrade soldier from not following directions/orders on
how to use and wear your proper PPE as a United States Of America Army Soldier.
So in conclusion I would not recommend that saying in the absentness of orders to
take charge, this will not benefit the junior enlisted Specialist, Private First Class,
Private II, and Private, but an N.C.O., Staff Sergeant, Sergeant First
An Analysis Of Mary Wollstonecraft s A Vindication Of
The...
The Age of Enlightenment encouraged writers to break away from conventional
thought and express their ideas and opinions through reasoning. Mary Wollstonecraft
s A Vindication of the Rights of Women and Marquis de Sade s Philosophy in the
Bedroom examine the conventional norms in their respective author s contemporary
societies. In both accounts, Wollstonecraft and Sade prescribe the path humanity
should take in order to improve the human condition. Marquis de Sade develops an
unconventional philosophy by claiming that cruelty is nature s most basic quality. He
supports the idea that humans are born with the notion of cruelty and thus, should
embrace their destructive instincts. According to him, might is right because in the

However, she focuses on the importance and value of education, believing that the
most perfect education...is such an exercise of the understanding as is best
calculated to strengthen the body and form the heart (Wollstonecraft 134). Like her
Enlightenment contemporaries, she believed that reason was a virtue since it
empowered the mind to think freely and independently. Reason allowed one to
truly express his or her ideas. The best way to cultivate such reasoning was to
become educated. Thus, both men and women should be educated for the
betterment of society as a whole since both sexes would then be able to contribute a
broader range of ideas. However, the general consensus amongst her contemporaries
in 18th century England was that women were more artificial, weak characters...and,
consequently, more useless members of society (Wollstonecraft 134). Women were
expected to lead domesticated lives and become dependent on men. They were
considered as housewives, not expected to contribute to society or stand out in
anyway. Therefore, women did not have the same amount of access to a proper
education as men did since they were not expected to be involved with forming their
own reasoning and opinions. As a result, women only learned what they perceived
and experienced from the world, left to play guess work rather than make
observations and draw conclusions and speculations. Without critical thinking,

business while taking a stroll through the woods somewhere. Suddenly, there is
eerie and suspenseful music playing in the back of the character s mind and they
think, What in the world is that? They think A. It must be a song they heard a long
time ago, B. Some cute and fuzzy cartoon characters are about to come out and
start singing, or C. They re about to run into a scary monster or murder. Odds are,
if the watcher know how suspenseful movies and novels go, they would probably
pick C. People are able to pick out certain aspects of a novelor movie and know that
something bad is about to happen. Same as in the movie Pride and Prejudice and
Zombies, originally written by Seth Grahame Smith, and then produced into a
movie by Burr Steers. Vampires and zombies, such as in these novels and movies,
would make someone scared, mostly because of how strange and different they are
from us, also known as The Other. The ideas of suspense, monstrous or scary beings,
and The Other shown throughout Pride and Prejudice and Zombies were all
influenced by the classic novel Dracula, written by Bram Stoker.
The idea of suspense is represented differently depending on what the movie or
novel is about. Movies that have characters that are considered to be fictional would
more likely have stronger suspense than a movie that has characters that were living
in real times. An article relating to the movie Pride and
Protagonist In The Storm
What Makes a Protagonist A protagonist is a literary device used to develop a story:
the story revolves around the struggle of the protagonist who may undergo a change,
usually at the climax (Literary Devices). Using this definition, deciding the
protagonist ought to be straightforward; however, if the story follows many
characters who undergo some change at the climax of the story, then deciding who
the protagonistis will be a bit more complicated. In the story Sweat, Delia can easily
be labelled as the protagonist: the story, for the most part, follows her life as she
tries to cope with a loveless marriage. She does undergo a change, twice in fact,
when she decides not to put up with her husband s abuse, anymore, and when she
decides not to help him when he is bitten by a rattlesnake. In The Storm, however,
deciding the protagonist is a little more murky. The story focuses on multiple
characters and two of the characters undergo a struggle and a change. Calixta and
AlcГ©e can both effectively argued as the protagonist of their story, whereas AlcГ©e
s struggle and Calixta s characterchange are... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

followed in part five of the story. While the story does give an inside look of these
three characters minds, it doesn t revolve around them, they are a device to show
the gravity of Calixta s and AlcГ©e s affair: both have children, Calixta has a
loving husband who bought canned shrimp for her, knowing they were her favorite
and AlcГ©e has a bit of a strained marriage with Clarisse she chooses to stay in

The Reflection Of Working In An Enterprise Environment
Throughout the semester, I worked at Central Community School District 301 in
the information technology department and worked on many different projects.
This experience was very impactful because it taught things that classes have a
hard time doing or and not able to teach at all. Working in an enterprise
environment took all the information that I have gained from computer science
classes and focused them into one point. Which is, to be able to work on a team
and to be able to create and understand enterprise level software. Most of my time at
CCUSD 301 included of me working on self hosted internal education tools for
teacher and student use, and creating and updating different automation task that
made some manual time consume task, very easy or non existence at all or
working on self hosted learning programs for teacher and student use. One of the
first projects was for me to make a program that took a picture from a camera
renamed it to a normalized name convention and then move it to the correct
directory, so that a ID printing software could select the correct picture to print it
on the ID. When I first received this project I was thinking, this will be easy
because it was just like I did in CSCI 330, UNIX and Network Programming. The
only problem was that it had to run on a Windows server and not Linux. Pythonwas
already installed on the server for another task, so my manager said that I could use
it or any other scripting language that I felt most comfortable with. I chose Python
because I did not know many other languages at the time and because I just started
taking CSCI 490K which was a classabout Python to solve different problems. After
doing research and getting assistant from other members of the team I was able to
test and complete the program. Throughout the semester, I came back to this script
to refine it after learning new concepts in class to make it more efficient and
handle errors better. One of the next projects, also one of the largest was for me to
make a new script that interfaced with a Google for education administrator console
API in order to manage 8,000 Chromebooks. This was the first project that was
given a firm dead line for completion because there was around 4,000
Technology Transfer and Process Safety Management
1.Introduction The purpose of this project is to investigate to any topic relevant to
Technology Transfer. In this report I will be investigating on Process safety
management. Safety on work place is one of the priority element management of the
manufacture put in front, should fix the rules to follow, monitoring. Some area where
the standards have to be applied such as in chemicals sections, transportation of
materials and fabricated metal products, gas, electric services. Incident
communication is about sharing of information about incident management between
the decision makers and regulators and stakeholders. Parties can communicate at any
stage of the risk management process. The output/result of incident management
process should be appropriately communicated and documented for the future
reference. Process safety management has tools available to identify the hazardous
and assess the incidents such as Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA). The process
safety management is important to employees, contractors, customers. Incidents
continue to occur in various industries that use highly hazardous chemicals which
may be toxic, reactive, flammable, or explosive, or may exhibit a combination of
these properties. 2.Background In 1991 OSHA (Occupation safety and healthy
application) developed process safety management (PSM) and EPA respectively
released the standards PSM and RMP that applies to those companies that are affected
by that standards.[1]Recent major disasters
Hegel s Phenomenology Of Spirit Essay
Sense Certainty to Hegel is the immediate knowledge given between our mind and
the object within the world. This type of knowledge is immediate which means its
known as soon as our mind connects or sees the object and it is also receptive
meaning we can accept the knowledge the object gives through signals or stimulus.
The first appearance of knowledge is therefore the simplest possible relation
between us and the object in question. Sense certainty aims to avoid universality as
it distorts the world in its simplification whereas particulars will portray the true
world. Hegel s Phenomenology of spirit is written in a dialectic form in which he
presents an argument before providing an immediate critique which then results in
the argument being developed. Sense certainty aims to discuss knowledge in
particulars, rather than universals when acquiring knowledge of objects. A series
of complex particulars are therefore universals according to Hegel. An example of
a particular would be discussing a particular chair which is wooden and scratched,
rather than discussing the whole concept of chairs and what they are made for and
aim to provide, which would be a seat. Hegel gives his own example of Now is
night , at first the now is a particular about the specific time of the day but in the
morning or the next day then the night is not in fact now making it not a particular
so is therefore a universal term. The Now that is Night is preserved, i.e. it is treated
as what it
Young Goodman Brown VS. Paul Essay
Young Goodman Brown vs. Paul
After studying the short stories of Nathaniel Hawthorne s Young Goodman Brown
and Willa Cather s Paul s Case , I began to see many similarities within the two
stories. Both of the main characters in each story have characteristics that could be
looked at as being alike, but after analyzing each character I started to find that
although alike in some aspects, these two characters are very different from one
another. At first I noticed that both Goodman Brown and Paul are starved for
attention, but in different ways. Next, I see that each character has issues with their
past and are both trying desperately to overcome them. Finally, I found that each

Of all nights in the year, this one night must I tarry away from thee. My journey, as

wife, is saying that he needs to become something in order for her to be proud of
him. He needs to go on this journey and prove to himself that he is strong and will
be able to find fulfillment in himself. Goodman Brown is a character, which has
many problems within himself. His quest for internal greatness was shattered by his
inability to accept who he was and get over his past. This eventually led to a life
controlled by the devil.
Paul is the main character in Willa Cather s short story titled, Paul s Case . Paul is a
very troubled young man who believes he is destined for greatness. He was always
in trouble at school and was never content with being himself. Paul had a very
troubling past where his father would constantly emotionally abuse him and was
always looked down upon at school. Paul feels that his is stuck where he his and

Review Of Hail The Virgin Queen Essay
Hail The Virgin Queen Elizabeth, a film made in 1998 depicts the early years of
the reign of Elizabeth I of England and her struggle of learning exactly what it
means to be a woman in control of an entire nation. This film is a historical drama
with as many ups, downs, twists, and turns one would expect in a film where the
main character is considered one of the most esteemed women in history.
Elizabeth, played by actress Cate Blanchett at a time when England was divided in
deciding whether or not they wanted to be Catholic or Protestant. Queen Mary is
on the throne with failing health and being pressured into making the choice of
condemning her half protestant sister to death, or letting her live and ascend to the
throne. Fortunately, before she passes, her court fails to get her signature on the
death warrant and Elizabeth does in fact ascend the throne. Her ascension to the
throne is the end and beginning of England. Elizabeth is now the ruler of a
kingdom that has no money, no army, and is under constant threat from other
nations trying to take control of England. This film directed by Shekhar Kapur and
written by Michael Hirst gives the audience an upfront and personal account of a
young Elizabeth who is seen as she ages from a blithe Botticelli Venus, to the stony,
regal monarch of the film s last scene (Maslin 1). The film begins with violence at
the end of Elizabeth s older sister Mary I reign as the Catholic ruler has heretics
burned alive in an attempt to stop
Pine Forests Of The Colorado Plateau
Ponderosa pine forests of the Colorado Plateau cover a large portion of the higher
mesas and mountains from elevations of 6000 to approximately 8000 feet. They often
form almost pure stands encompassing tens of thousands of acres at elevations above
6500 feet in the southern area. Located southwest of Flagstaff to the White Mountains
of eastern Arizona, the Mogollon Rim comprises the southern edge of the Colorado
Plateauin Arizona. The escarpment reaches close to 200 miles across central Arizona,
with an average elevation of approximately 7000 feet. It contains the largest
ponderosa pine forestin the United States.
The three needled Rocky Mountain ponderosa pine (Pinus ponderosa var.
scopulorum) is the prevalent form of pine throughout the Colorado Plateau. Gambel
oak (Quercus gambelii) is commonly associated with the ponderosa pine at lower
elevations as well as the New Mexico locust (Robina neomexicana). At higher
elevations it shares habitat with southwestern white pine (Pinus strobiformis), Rocky
Mountain white fir (Abies concolor var. concolor), Rocky Mountain Douglas fir,
(Pseudotsuga menziesii var. glauca), and quaking aspen (Populus tremuloides).
Understory plants which are commonly found in these forests include grasses such as
mountain muhly and Arizona fescue, forbs such as lupine, as well as apache plume,
buckbrush, currant, and cliffrose.

In September, 1918 , Amy Lowell shows her readers an interesting and illuminating
poem. That war can be an ugly time and the people that experience it often seems to
live in a broken world (19). To fight an evil, sometimes war is needed, nonetheless it
is still costly to the people living through the war. Some in a literal sense, like soldiers
fighting in a war, while some in a physical sense by the world that they now see and
live in. I find the poem truly interesting though, in how the author shows that even in
war we can still hold onto hope for more promising days. Lowell portrays a
melancholy mood throughout her poem that makes her readers thinking about war
but also the hope of it being over.
In this poem, we see the tone light and free, also much imagery. We see this
immediately with the first line saying, the afternoon was the colour of water falling
through sunlight (1). We immediately get a sense of a beautiful day, maybe even fall
with the trees descriptions in the following line, trees glittered with the tumbling of
leaves (2). Lowell shows such beautiful imagery throughout her poem especially in
her first two stanzas, that when we read that they are in the middle of war in the third
stanza, that it is slightly shocking. That there are two little boys, lying flat on their
faces (7) and that they are, carefully gathering red berries (8). Here Lowell shows
that it is still a beautiful day but the darker reality is that they are currently in a war.
Then we start to see the poem more in a melancholy light. That these two little boys
are picking berries to save for later, instead of enjoying it right now. However one
day the boys wish that there will be no more war (10), and that then, they could in
fact enjoy their berries, their afternoon and turn it in my fingers . In this poem, we
clearly see the different tones throughout. Lowell shows us the light tone, then a more
melancholy tone and then finally a hopeful tone.
Lowell s poem also seems to radiate a blissful moment and lesson in a time of
darkness. That yes, they are experiencing a war but it doesn t mean that there are no
more serene moments. For example, how Lowell describes the day, in the poem, as
peaceful and the people in the
Theoretical Perspectives on Iraq War 2003
INTRODUCTION
In this paper, I intend to analyze Iraq war of 2003 from Realist and Marxist
/ Critical perspectives. I intend to draw a conclusion as to which theoretical
framework, in my opinion, is more suitable and provides for a rational
understanding of the Iraq War. While drawing comparative analysis of two
competing approaches, I do not intend to dismiss one theory in entirety in favour of
another. However, I do intend to weigh on a golden balance, lacunas of both theories
in order to conclude as to which theory in the end provides or intends to provide a
watertight analysis of the Iraq war.
REALIST PERSPECTIVE

Thus, in this context of a unipolar system dominated by U.S., it is highly unlikely
that a great power like U.S., motivated by its relentless pursuit of power and security,
would allow itself to be deterred by U.N. resolutions that do not comply with its own
interests. This also reflects the realist interpretation of international system which is
characterized by anarchy and therefore, it is not considered prudent for a State to
entrust its safety and survival on another actor or international institutions such as
United Nations.
CRITICAL THEORY / MARXIST PERSPECTIVE
Critical theory, on the other hand, as propounded by Robert Cox is a rejoinder to
Neo realism. According to Mark Rupert, Neo Realism only describes patterns in
the operation of power among States without inquiring as to the social relations
through which that power is produced. Critical theory assumes that power is not
given in the form of accumulated material capabilities; in fact, it is a product of
social processes. Robert Cox adopted a method of historical structures in which state
power ceases to be sole explanatory factor and becomes part of what is to be
explained .
Critical approach provides a historical background to Iraq war of 2003 which,
according to historical materialists, has its roots in U.S. sponsored Fordist Industrial
Capitalism linked with geopolitics of petroleum. According to Andrew Basevich
(2005 a, 2008, 2010) the very nature of U.S. State policy is characterized by

Christopher Boone Quotes
Every family goes through something difficult in their lifetime, whether it be good or
bad. It all depends on whether or not they can bounce back from the situation. For
the Boone family, that is to be determined. The Boone family has been through a lot
together, yet there is still hope for them to become a loving familyonce again.
Christopher has ran away and causes his father lots of trouble, but Mr Boone still
goes and finds him. Also, Christopher was able to get to agree with his father and
make a mends. Finally, Ms Boone had to make sacrifices and move back to Swindon
from London for Christopher. In the novel, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the
Night time, Christopher Boone and his family are not beyond repair, even though

In this case, Christopher had to forgive and trust his father after he found out that he
had killed Wellington. When Christopher found out that Mr Boone killed Wellington,
he was very scared, which was one of the reasons that he ran away from Swindon to
go to London to live with his mother. Mr Boone tries really hard to gain Christopher
s trust once again and make amends. An example of this is seen when Christopher
and Ms Boone moved back to Swindon, and Mr Boone tries to gain Christopher s
trust by creating a project that he and Christopher have to complete. Mr Boone
explains, Let s call it a project. A project we have to do together. You have to spend
more time with me. And I...I have to show you that you can trust me. And it will
be difficult at first because... because it s a difficult project. But it will get better. I
promise. (Haddon 219) This directly shows that Mr Boone is trying really hard to
gain Christopher s trust again and make their relationship strong as it used to be.
By doing so, Mr Boone also gives Christopher a gift, to act like a peace token. The
book states, Then he came back through and gave me the dog. And he said, He s
two months old. And he s a golden retriever. (Haddon 219) When Mr Boone did
this, it was a way for him to gain Christopher s trust since he killed Wellington the
dog, by giving Christopher his very own golden retriever. This acted as a peace
offering to bring Christopher and his father together once again and to gain his trust.
This sets the notion in the book that there is hope within the family for them to be
repaired and to be loving family once
Auster Narrative Style
American writer and director Paul Auster uses different literary devices and narrative
styles to create a new form of crime fiction, that links the traditional genre
characteristics with experimental metafiction and postmodern irony. In the New York
Trilogy novels published sequentially as City of Glass (1985), Ghosts (1986) and The
Locked Room (1986), Auster uses a number of different narrative styles including
pastiche, parody and intertextuality to mix postmodernism with crime fiction.
Previously, the most important aspect in a detective story according to Encyclopedia
Britannica has been: solving the crime and answering the whodunitquestion (
Detective Story ). For that reason, most literature on criminal fiction has focused...

According to literary criticist William G. Little: While the goal of detection is to
uncover the whole story, in Auster s work, nothing, especially not nothing, is grasped
in its all. No case is closed...his calculations and representations lead to no final
illumination, no climatic discovery. (p. 133). It is clear, that the postmodern detective
fiction has a different purpose than just answering all the questions and restore
order. At the beginning of City of Glass the narrator describes that detective Quinn
s knowledge regarding crime in general, is very average: Like most people, Quinn
knew almost nothing about crime. He had never murdered anyone, had never
stolen anything, and he did not know anyone who had. He had never been inside a
police station, had never met a private detective, had never spoken to a criminal.
Whatever he knew about these things, he had learned from books, films, and
newspapers. (p. 7). Therefore, Quinn as the writer of crime novels does not have
any actual information about real crime and his stories are not real, but the kind that
parodies the genre on which he lacks experience. On the use of parody M. H.

Images Of Witchcraft During Renaissance Culture
Images of Witchcraft in Renaissance Culture
The witchcraft phenomenon of the Renaissance period was shaped by a wide range
of cultural factors; witchcraft was not necessarily subject to a single cohesive idea or
concept, and it was often instead a conglomeration of many different societal
concerns, concerns which spanned through all spheres of society. Textual evidence
from this period provides insight into the way in which witches were conceived, and
how witches were dealt with, while visual images present a companion visualisation
of the tensions, which influenced created the witch, and the imagery, which came to
be associated with witchcraft.
The 1486 Malleus Maleficarum set up the precedent for the witchcraft craze, which
came to its prime in the mid 16th century, during the Renaissance period. Though the
Malleus was not the only factor in this craze, as Margaret Sullivan notes, it made no
discernable impact... for nearly half a century , it, with a number of other social
factors, provided a wealth of information to witch hunts and hunters. This treatise
further established several of the basic ideas essential to the identification of witches
such as the identification of witches as largely women; through the treatise s
continual argument that women were of gullible and carnal nature the text further
advocated ideas of fear and hatred in regards to women.
As the witch hunting period grew, the real fears and tensions which plagued all
levels of society is clear by
Witch Vs Salem Witch
The use of black magic and the appealing of spirits are what witches are known for.
Witches would be brought to court if someone accused them and if they couldn t
recite the 10 commandments or 7 sacraments etc. they would be killed. Witch hunts
in Salem, Massachusetts last for a year (1692 1693) and in Papua New Guinea they
still continue to hunt witches (2013). The witch hunts being done in both Salem and
Papua New Guinea are taking place out of ignorance and fear because they are
accusing people of events that occur naturally, out of revenge, and the fear of the
witches powers being used on them, the people. There is a reason behind everything
that happens in life, it may not be understandable for some people, but there is reason

payback. Payback for what the witches have provoked onto their loved ones or
others, the killers don t want the people to think it is just torturing and killing them
without a reason because that is not a good picture being set. Likewise, in The
Crucible Abigail and Elizabeth Proctor have some tension from the past events,
Elizabeth ruined Abigail s name in the town after being fired from her house.
Abigail does anything from putting a spell on John Proctor to fall in love with
her, to stabbing herself to have proof of Elizabeth Being a witch. The Crucible says

Mary Warren had given her a poppet with a needle stuck into its stomach. In The

Watt expresses moments of silence throughout the film to suggest the dept of emotion
when a personal tragedy strikes us and how words are sometimes useless to those
who are suffering from grief. The train driver sits at his kitchen table in silent grief,
being watched by his wife. Sometimes people turn inward when they are grieving,
while those around them quietly offer/give them support. For example when the
train drivers son brings him a beer and they drink together in silence. This scene
was shot from a distance; just as Nicks front page photo of Julia is a long distance
shot too. The camera looks through windows and doorways at Julia as she tries to
deal with the death of Rob. The family members carefully tread around her, never
entering her personal space. When the silences during the film are broken this has
more impact. At the end of the film, the only words we hear the train driver say are
I m the train driver. I m sorry. And Julia replies: It wasn t your fault . Julia smiles
for the first time in the film as the driver and his son leave, which adds to the positive
mood at the end of the film, once again suggesting that positive interactions with
others can help us to deal with our personal tragedies.
Watt doesn t show very much of Joan throughout the film, but from the scenes she
stars in we learn she doesn t dwell on the past. Joan makes the most of
Immigration At Los Angeles International Airport
I came to America in October of 1993 with a tourist visa. I was twenty years old.
When I entered through the Customs and Immigration at Los Angeles
International Airport, the officer gave me a permit to stay in the U.S. That permit
was called I 94 Proof of Legal Entry into the U.S. Said permit was for six months
only. My father asked me to stay in the United States forever. I was not sure if I
wanted to do that. His request for me meant not seeing my mother, sisters, and
brothers any time soon. Besides, if I stay longer than the period marked in my
permit, I would become what is called Out of Status . In other words an illegal alien. I
did not want to become an illegal alien. I was new to this country, however, I knew
that it was not a good idea to stay longer than allowed. I had heard so many stories
about illegal aliens. I did not want to be one of them. I conveyed my plans to my
father. I told him I would go back to Nicaragua with my family, and maybe we
could start a business. My idea was to purchase goods in America and sell them in
Nicaragua. My father rejected my idea and clearly stated that I was staying
regardless. My heart sunk when he said it did not matter if I wanted to stay or not
because he had hidden my passport and my flight tickets. I started crying, and felt
deceived. Out of respect to my very strict father, I did not question or fight him.
Originally, he had asked me to come visit him in America. He said he would give me
a tour of Los Angeles,

of corrective instruction provided to the student and if the teacher always used the
system appropriately. Lastly, PUBS is a school unified system which includes all
working adults in the school to be involved. The study only focused on the teachers
and inside the classroom and did not observe actions by the adults outside the
classroom and what role they played. (p. 46) In conclusion, the outcome of the

the study showed that positive behavior support and reinforcement can be effective
in minimizing classroom behaviors, and consequentially create a better environment
for learning and social growth. Yet, there are implications to this study as the field
of research grows in this area. The effect on academic growth needs to be further
researched and directly linked. Also, the effect on PUBS in middle or high school
settings needs to be examined. (p.

The change management plan is a very important process that helps a business owner.
The plan is used when an organization wants to implement some change to a process
or to a system. It ensures that the plan is effectively implemented. As much as the
plan is important it is designed to be used alongside the project plan. The management
plan is divided into six steps or 3 stages. The 3 stages are Stage A (step 1, 2, 3), Stage
B (step 4, 5), Stage C (step 6). They are all broken down into steps as follows.
The first step in the process is identifying the change that is to come with tracking
sales. Here, one will be able to define the current state, classify the size and the
features of the change, describe what to expect in the upcoming future, and recognize
the thought of shifts, and the structural willingness to change.
Different types of change are as follows: the process change, policy change, the
changed job roles, system change, and the scale of change along with the speed of
change fast or slow.
I will also describe the motive for the change. The main motives for the change in
the sales tracking is to improve efficiency while reducing cost. The scope of the
change should also be discussed. As for this case, the sales department is the only
department to be affected. The sales executives will need to learn a new system. I
am required to explain to the sales staff where we are right now and where we intend
to achieve with the new changes.
There will be need for the sales
Gettysburg Essay
Gettysburg, the largest, bloodiest, and most celebrated battle of the Civil war, is
said by many to be the turning point of the war that killed 618,000 Americans.
Gettysburg the movie was four hours long, which is about 68 hours less than it
actually took for the battle to come and go. The first shots were fired no long after
daylight, so to be exact, it was 04:30 hours, on the morning of July 1st, (49 Nofi).
Bullets flew from the rifles of Union Calvary men on picket duty along the
Chambersburg Pike. It was in response to the advancing of Confederates, a skirmish

Aesthetics In The Hobbit

The Hobbit: Immersion Control
In the film, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, director Peter Jackson implements
a number of film aesthetics to enhance the experience a viewer has while taking in
the film. Three major aesthetics I picked out were that of the use of 48 frames per
second, the movie s score, and the use of color in the film. While some of these
aesthetics are apparent, how they enhance the film may not be so obvious beyond the
fact that it makes the movie look and sound better.
One of the most talked about Aesthetic choices for the Hobbit was director Peter
Jackson s decision to release the movie with 48 fps (frames per second), entirely

While 48 fps proved to be controversial, increasing the frame rate and offering
higher quality is the future of film. Meanwhile, Score is very important in setting
the tone for any type of film or video, and I definitely think I would implement
more background music if I were to create any type of video (ads, videos on
YouTube, short films) to enhance any viewer s experience. Color, as well, is very
important when it comes to video since a color pallet can imply tone, as well as be
pleasant or harsh on a viewer s eyes (depending on which colors are chosen and
how they are used). As a writer, color is still very important, and can be used as a
tool to enhance a reader s imagination when they read your work. Since I am
primarily a writer, out of all these aesthetics I see myself implementing the use of
color to enhance my stories and paint a better picture for my readers through colorful
description. A lot of these aesthetic choices worked well in the film, however, and
prove that every small detail put together is what really builds and enhances a story,
whether it is through pictures of

Although, I do not really understand the process of evaluating those data but I believe
those questions and interview method could enhance the assessment of moral
understanding and collect substantially more data by using less time. The author
suggests using written interview which could save the manager and researchers time
because face to face interview would take more human resources and incur
substantial cost of time to get the interview done. Also, managers may have
difficulty to find a lot of free time to do the interview. The written interview can
solve this problem without having a really difference result with oral interview.
Therefore, I believe the author achieve its goal very well. As what I mention before,
the purpose of these modifications is to enhance the assessment of managers moral
reasoning which finally lead to a better understanding of managers moral decision
making process. This article suggests that these adaptions the researcher use may help
to resolve the ethical dilemmas at the workplace. The better understanding of
managers moral decision making process can help the corporations to have a greater
prediction of their organizational ethical behavior. (309) I believe if the CEO and
stakeholders understand why the managers make certain decisions when they
confront ethical conflict that
Examples Of Pedagogical Model Of E-Learning
Pedagogical Models for e Learning 2.1 Preamble Pedagogical models constitute one
of three main components in the e learning continuum. The other two components are
instructional strategies and pedagogical tools or online learning technologies. All
three components work in tandem to provide the outline for a theory based design
framework to facilitate the orchestration of learning activities to deliver online
learning. In simple term, the mechanism by which they function can be likened to a
set of cogwheels setting in motion all activities relative to the dimension of teaching
and learning and driving the dynamics triggered by a set of predetermined learning
objectives to make learning possible. Pedagogical models are pre cursors to defining
instructional strategies. In turn, instructional strategies provide the directions to
educators to design learning activities which are accomplished through the use of
digital (learning) technologies, encompassing both asynchronous and synchronous

Buried Treasure
Ashford University MAT 221
Buried Treasure
For this week s Assignment we are given a word problem involving buried treasure
and the use of the Pythagorean Theorem. We will use many different ways to
attempt to factor down the three quadratic expressions which is in this problem.
The problem is as, Ahmed has half of a treasure map, which indicates that the
treasure is buried in the desert 2x + 6 paces from Castle Rock. Vanessa has the
other half of the map. Her half indicates that to find the treasure, one must get to
Castle Rock, walk x paces to the north, and then walk 2x + 4 paces to the east. If
they share their information, then they can find x and save a lot of digging. ... Show

Running with this information can now write out the equation AB2 + BC2 = AC2.
One important thing is that we must note that AB is equal to X and the line segment
of BC is equal to that of 2x+4, and that AC will be equal to that of 2x+6. So we will
now input this information to create (x)2 + (2x + 4)2 = (2x + 6)2 and begin factoring
each term into two sections. These two sections will be as x*x + (2x + 4)(2x + 4) =
(2x + 6)(2x + 6). x times x is x2. An important tool to use now would be the FOIL
method, so we will take (2x + 4)(2x + 4) and create 4x2 + 16x + 16. Right off the bat
we notice that we have like terms. So we will add x2 to 4x2 to get 5x2. This will
create 5x2 + 16x + 16 = 4x2 + 24x+ 36. Now we will use the subtraction property to
get 5x2 4x2 + 16x 24x + 16 36 = 0, however we still have like terms, so because 5x2
is a like term with 4x2 we will add them together to get x2. We will also combine 16x
and 24x and also 16 and 36 which are also like terms and create 8x and 20, our
equation should now look like x2 8x 20 = 0.We will now factor the equation from left
to right, first factoring x2 which has 1 coefficient so the fact will be 1 and 1. The
other term will be 20 which have no coefficient so we will do 5x4 and then 4 still can
be divided so 2x2. This will create 20=225.
We will now take a look using the Prime Factorization formula which will aid us in
finding the number
Essay on The Visual Analysis of The Gleaners
The Gleaners (Des glaneuses) is an oil painting, 83.8 cm Г— 111.8 cm (33 in Г— 44
in), created by French realist painter Jean Francois Millet in 1857. The piece of oil
painting vividly depicts the nineteenth century French rural life, with a rich flavor of
harvest.
Jean Francois Millet arranges the farm as the main scene of background, and aims at
three women gleaners being bent to pick up ears of wheat. Through the observation
of the painting, we can see three peasant women occupy in the center of the screen,
each bending with different angles, while their eyes all raking down to the ground. To
contrast with the distant crowd, they wear coarse clothes and clunky wooden shoes,
having robust statures. It is not appropriate to say that they ... Show more content on

As some parts of background are closer to the light source than the front, they are
applied with brighter hues, high in value. In addition, Millet places things like
haystack, trees and farmhouse in the back, and peasant women in the front. Hence.
On the basis the positions of objects, the principle of line perspective, and the
relative distance to the viewer, three gleaners visually appear within a larger
proportion on the painting. In other words, the front figures sizes are bigger than the
back objects . Further more, in the painting, the Gleaners , the entire screen is filled
with contrast elements. First of all, the main figures in the front labor scene are full
of rich vigor, contrasting to the background with silent objects such as hay, trees and
farmhouse. Secondly, the color brightness of the front contrast to the back, as well as
the comparison of relative sizes between figures and scenery, applying the principle
of perspective. What s more, the most classic is the horizontal line, the intersection of
the sky and the ground, contrasting with the light source, from the top left.
Consequently, 2D and 3D spatial effects are combined precisely. Meanwhile, the
sense of space of the image is strengthened as well.
For this oil painting on canvas, the painter Jean Francois Millet did use concise
expression means, instead of complex techniques. Hence,

Exploring Psychology Careers Everyone who decides to enroll in college must, at
some point, think about what area they want to major in. There are many things that
students consider when choosing a major. Some make their decision based on what
they think can make them the most money once they begin their lives in the work
force. However, many students believe that if you choose a major that interests you
and challenges you then you can use those skills that can help you in any career. (R.

of areas of specialization for a clinical psychologist. According to the APA website

Each graduate program determines its own entrance requirements. Some doctoral

Use Of Language And Context Voltaire s Candide Essay
The narrative techniques, features of language and context Voltaire used when
writing Candide tells us a lot about this book and what Voltaire was trying to
achieve in writing it. Candide is told by a third person narrator who is not a main
character in the book and is completely outside of the storyline. The title page of
Candideimplies that the book was found and translated by Doctor Ralph who is our
narrator. This is a fiction created by Voltaireto distance himself from the book and to
help the reader to understand the satirical nature of Candide.
Telling the story from a third person perspective allows the narrator to know all the
thing the characters in the book do not. He is omniscience, knowing everything
about the circumstances and the characters without being involved with them. This
approach works particularly well in Candide. It allows the reader to stand back and
see how disturbing the word Voltaire has created is. It also gives the reader space to
understand Voltaire s purpose in writing Candide without getting too caught up in the
plight of its characters. It also really highlights how naГЇve and almost narrow
minded Candide is as a character, especially where his philosophical beliefs are
concerned. The use of the third person narrator really highlights the more unrealistic
moments in the passage, for example:
Candide, having served with the Bulgars, performed the Bulgar drill before the
general of this little force with such grace, such celerity,

In order to raise capital for the venture, I would first need to determine what funds
are available, which ones who be best for the venture, and how I would go about
obtaining those funds for the venture. Carter explains that there are two key issues
or factors that come into play when determining which kind of capital is the best for
a new venture: (a) Usually the search for financing is precipitated by a rejection of
an existing bank relationship, and (b) understanding why the company needs capital
will determine what type of financing is most appropriate. (Carter, April 2011, pg. 47)
For the venture that I am pursuing, Government Funding through the Small Business
Administration Loans/Small Business Investment Companies Business Development

Acute Human Immunodeficiency Virus ( Hiv ) Infection
Acute Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) infection is the small period of time
after a person has been exposed to HIV and before they have seroconverted.
Seroconversion is the process in which the body starts to create antibodies to fight
the HIV virus (Pietrangelo, 2013). During this period of time, which is usually a few
days, the virus replicates rapidly. The rapid replication results in extremely high
amounts of HIVin the blood because the body has not had time to respond to the
infection. As the viral load increases more CD4 white cells are destroyed. CD4 cells
are a responsible in protecting the body from infection. When these cells are
destroyed they no longer are able to adequately activate the body s immune system.

Signs/symptoms of Acute HIV Infection Including H P
Not all patients with HIV will have signs or symptoms during the acute infection
phase. If a patient is having symptoms they can often times think that they have the
flu. Acute HIV infection symptoms can show up 2 4 weeks after exposure and last
from a few days to several weeks (Cherney, 2014). If they are exhibiting symptoms
they may present as having a fever, swollen lymph nodes, skin rashes, myalgia,
diarrhea, oral ulcers or thrush, and fatigue. Lab results may also show leukopenia,
thrombocytopenia, or an elevation in transaminase (DHHS, 2015). Differential
diagnoses include the flu or Epstein Barr Virus since these also present with similar
symptoms.
A thorough health history must be taken with patients before an exam in order to
identify risk behavior. Important things to ask about are sexual history, partners and
possible exposures, any drug use (especially intravenously), and any current STI s
(HRSA, 2014). Upon physical exam things to look for or may see with an acute HIV
infection would be ecchymosis, purpura, petechiae, Kaposi sarcoma,
lymphadenopathy, oral candidiasis, or hepatosplenomegaly (Aberg et al., 2014).
Cultural Implications The numbers of new HIV infections per year has remained
relatively the same since the 1990 s (CDC, 2015). Out of
Why were the Habsburgs unable to consolidate their power...
The seventeenth century was undeniably a period of great division, war and turmoil
for Hungary. After the events of the previous century, Hungary remained divided into
three distinct areas. The largest was Ottoman Hungary, under the direct control of
Constantinople, which encompassed the south and south east of Hungary. Second,
there was the Eastern Hungarian Kingdom founded by JГЎnos ZГЎpolyai in 1526,
who after the defeat of the Hungarian forces at the First Battle of MohГЎcs sought
the support of Sultan Suleiman I to be crowned King of Hungary by a rival faction

Due to Louis being connected to the Habsburgs through his own marriage and that
of his sister Anne, the Habsburg Archduke of Austria Ferdinand I was elected King
of Bohemia. He moved to secure his title as King of Hungary and was crowned
King by a minority group of nobles on December 16th 1526. However, he was not
uncontested. JГЎnos ZГЎpolyai was also elected King by the majority of the
nobility on November 11th. In order to cement his rule, ZГЎpolyai was encouraged
by a Polish noble and the French ambassador to Poland to enter an agreement with the
Ottoman Sultan. As a result, Suleiman I supported ZГЎpolyai and had him become
his vassal. Suleiman then moved to expand further into Hungary and marched west,
reaching Vienna in 1529. After the siege, heavy snowfall forced the Ottomans to
retreat on October 14th, while Ferdinand secured the western province of Hungary. It
was this division which remained the status quo until our period being studied, due to
the exhaustion of the Ottoman machine of expansion. The result was the split of
Hungary by the seventeenth century into the Habsburg controlled Royal Hungary in
the west, the rival Principality of Transylvania in the east and the Ottoman controlled
lands of the south and centre. This made sure that the Habsburg could consolidate
power in Hungary while it was so divided. It should next be argued that a substantial

The Media Of The Super Bowl
When most people think of Super Bowl commercials, they think of funny skits
about Budweiser, Cool Ranch Doritos, or big Chevy trucks; all up beat, innocent,
and funny commercials, right? Well not all ads aired during the Super Bowl have
been known to be as up beat and sensible. In 2011, the Super Bowl aired a
commercial made by an online coupon site many of you are probably familiar with
called Groupon. This controversial ad is titled Save the Money Tibet and was
meant for their buyers to do just that, save money. Although Groupon is all about
saving people money, that s not the only message the ad was supposed to convey
to its viewers. Although controversial, this ad has a bigger story behind it that
Groupon later shared after getting a large amount of hate due to the lack of
misunderstanding from their viewers. To sum up the commercial, it starts off with
different clips of people in Tibet with a sort of chilling music playing in the
background. A male voice then comes in and says, one of the most beautiful places
in the world. This is timothy Hutton. The people of Tibet are in trouble, their very
culture in jeopardy . The whole dynamic of the commercial then changes when
Timothy Hutton says, but they still whip up an amazing fish curry as a Tibet male
proceeds to serve him a fish curry dish in a Chicago restaurant all thanks to his
purchase of an online coupon from Groupon. While the purpose of this three million
dollar ad seemed to be to promote saving money by

The Genzanian Genocide And The Rwandan Genocide
The Rwandan Genocide took place for in 1994 where the Hutus began to massacre
the Tutsis due to many years of oppression aided by Belgian influences. While the
Palestinian Genocide occurred between 1947 1948 and Zionists wished to overtake
Palestinian land and remove all Arab influences while expanding upon their territory.
Yet, the Rwandan Genocideand the Palestinian Genocide had a distinguished
similarity; to ethnically cleanse the land. Post WWII, Jew s wished for land separate
from European Anti Semitic beliefs. The Holocaust had further pushed Zionists
agenda to take Palestine due to their historical and religious background within the
land. Thus, a significant amount of Jews from Europe and America called for a
separate Jewish state. During this time, Britain had a mandate over Palestine and
were authorized to rule the land. However, given that the dispute was becoming
increasingly controversial, the British withdrew from the conflict and gave authority
of the land to the UN. Then the UN had formed the UNSCOP, United Nation Special
Committee on Palestine. Their objective was to separate Jewish and Arab land.
There the UN authorized the Israeli state and caused the displacement of thousands
of Palestinians. They had forced the Palestinians to flee their villages in order to
place arriving Jewish settlers. Various tactics were used to remove Palestinians from
the land. For instance. Israelis used arab radio broadcasts to inhibit fear within the
arab community. Such

The biggest theme would be the separation of our society, and the want for cultural
unity. 2Pac points a light at not only the separations between blacks and whites
(which exist even today), but also the separation between blacks and blacks which
has a major effect of their own communities. Just after separation the next theme
would be how the older generation has been unable to help the new generation and
may have even pushed them even further down. The decisions of the older
generations have been detrimental to the growth of the new generations. Within this
song 2Pac leaves his hopes for a better world, hoping that the next generation can fix
the world before it is to late pleading, I hope we see the light before its ruined
(1:21). Ghetto Gospel brings to light two major things about the state of our society,
the first fault is the separation of our society as a whole, and the second would be
how the older generations are failing the new generations.
Separation has a huge negative effect on our society and prevents us from moving
forward toward a greater future. The first form of separation addressed by 2Pac is
the separations between black and whites, he addresses this with the lyric, it ain t
about black and white cause we re human (1.20). All the way in back in 2005, 2Pac
was spreading the word of unity between blacks and whites, but it seems that we
have actually done the exact opposite. Things are separating us to even greater
lengths and a perfect
Did Trojan War Begin Over The Love Of Women
Trojan war Laura Gibbons
For my historical investigation I am looking to the Trojan War. My main focus
question is did the Trojan war really begin over the love of a women.
The Trojan War is known as a significant event in Greek mythology. According to
Homer the Trojan War was a battle at Troybetween Paris of Troy and the Spartans
because Paris stole Helen from her husband Menelaus who was the king Sparta.
The battle raged on for 10 years until finally the Spartans were victorious due to the
Trojan horse battle strategy causing the fall of Troy. Evidence of this battle comes
throughout Homers works of Greek literature lliad and odyssey . But were
Homers stories the actual reason of one of history s most talked about wars? Was
his story s a recount of a different battle? Was a woman really the reason to start a
war over? Did Troy actually exist? Was there more too it, did geographical Location
and trade a major issue? ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
My hypothesis is that the Trojan Wardidn t actually happen because of Helen being
abducted from Sparta, I think that there s more the issue, perhaps a major wealth
issue from a neighbouring society. Archaeologist Like Heinrich Schlieman,

of where Troy was believed to be and have all found some sort of evidence as so why,
the battle of Troy could not have started all because Helen was

  • 2. NHS Core Values This assignment will discuss the core values that underpin social and health service delivery and will compare the current health service provision with health care services at the inception of the NHS. The NHS has seven core values that aim to ensure that quality care is delivered to everyone regardless of their gender, religion, race, age, wealth or sexual orientation. These values have been developed by the general public, patients and staff, with local authorities having to develop and adapt these to provide personalised care. These values not only underpin the social and healthdelivery service, but also influence the legislation regarding care. For example the Care Act 2014 looks at integrating care, involving the patient and carer... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This has not changed in the current NHS, albeit more values have been added to improve service delivery. The NHS remains free with the exception of some charges, such as prescriptions, optical and dental services. It covers everything from antenatal screening and routine treatments for long term conditions, to transplants, emergency treatment and end of life care. The National Health Service (NHS) was planned as a three tier structure. With the Minister of Health at the top and below were the three tiers designed to interact with each other to suit the needs of the patient. These tiers were voluntary and municipal hospitals supervised by Regional hospital boards, family doctors, dentists, opticians and pharmacists who were self employed professionals contracted to the NHS to provide services so that patients did not pay directly and local health authorities like community clinics that provided services such as immunisations, maternity care and school medical services controlled by a local authority Medical Health. The NHS in England is undergoing some big changes, most of which took effect on April 1 2013. This included the abolition of primary care trusts (PCTs) and strategic health authorities (SHAs), and the introduction of clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) and Health watch England. From the 1950s onwards the scale and quality of the treatment provided by the National Health Service (NHS) improved, and between 1948

Racism is a very serious issue today as well as in the past. With that being said you will see this all over the world. I m person against racism. I believe all should be treated equally. This was more of an issue in the past, but occasionally occurs today. People went to the extent of forcing blacks to use a separate bathroom. The whites did not want to have anything to do with the blacks. Blacks needed to work double or even triple the amount just to show their abilities otherwise they were overlooked. It was almost as if they put this reputation on blacks. With that being said, this issue is fixed by the small degrees after Martin Luther King but still occurs on rare occasions. ... Studies show that black students are out down and taught by the less experienced. Compared to the white students who get the reputation of being smart and taught by the most experienced. Another example of racism is brought out through bullying. This example is shown in To Kill a Mocking Bird. A student is judged about the fact that his father knows a black man. That the amount of extent, this went to. Not even being friends with just knowing someone. In conclusion, racism in schools still happens today and is an ongoing
  • 4. Informed Consent and the Surgical Procedure INFORMED CONSENT AND THE SURGICAL PATIENT Informed Consent is obtained before a surgical procedure and in simple terms it refers to the permission granted by the patient or his guardians to the medical team to conduct a surgery. This consent is important because surgical procedures can often lead to complications and they do involve certain risks, therefore the patient must have complete knowledge of all that he might encounter during or after the procedure. The surgeon or physician who is responsible for conducting the operation usually obtains the consent but all healthcare providers involved in the process also play important roles in this connection. The role of a nurse in the process of informed consent is largely dependent on the nature of the treatment and the laws of the organizations. Kay Ely Pierce, MA, RN, JD (1999) writes, The nurse s part in the process of informed consent is variable. If the consent is being sought for a nursing procedure or treatment, it is the nurse s responsibility to provide the material information, assess the patient s decision capacity (ability to understand the information and make a rational decision based thereon), and execute the appropriate documentation of informed consent or refusal. (Family and Community Health, pg. 78) For example a registered nurse is required to understand that he/she can encounter trouble if the patient feels that the RN, who was in charge of the whole procedure did not inform him (or those who had been

Claudia Patricia VillacГs Galarza IB Code: 001421 054 Words: 3980 Abstract The research question of this extended essay is: To what extend the need of being perfect leads man to its own destruction? It is an analysis of perfection through the film The Black Swan. In the film the main character, Nina, is an obsessed ballerina who at the end destroyed her own life. I began the essay trying to prove that her obsession with being perfect is what leaded her to her destruction and death, but after analyzing the movie it all turned around. Is it even possible to reach perfection, or is it something out of the hands of a human being? It is true that perfection is something everybody strives for, to help them succeed in the things they propose for their lives. Many people aspire to be perfect in different ways, it could be a mother, a student, a teacher or even an artist with that desire of reaching perfection, but do we know the real meaning of this word? According to the dictionary one of its meanings is a quality, trait, or feature of the highest degree of excellence. (Dictionary, 2013) Excellence and perfection are far from being the same; which is why many people say it is impossible to be perfect but possible to reach Excellency, because perfection is supposed to exist as an abstraction of our minds, but not to be attainable in the physical world. (Wais, 2010) As well as there is people who believe perfection is not attainable, there is also people who believe that it is possible to reach that, when they give everything they have. It is a much divided opinion, which will perhaps never come to one only general conclusion. To succeed in life people must always work hard and sometimes sacrifice some things they think are important, but putting them in front of another type of situations they would not be taken as a priority. The majority of these people who believe in perfection

  • 9. How to Use Your Chain of Command How To Use Your Chain Of Command Why it is important to follow proper instruction procedures in the military is for many reasons. As a soldier it is our responsibility to not only follow instruction/orders, but to execute the command. Not following orders can result into consequences not only for the soldier whom committed not following instructions, but also it can put others at risk too. Like your N.C.O. in charge of you, to your Team Leader, to your Section Sergeant, to your Platoon Sergeant, to your 1st Sergeant, to your Company Commander, to your Brigade Commander, and so on. Not only can your N.C.O. in charge of you, your Team Leader, your Section Sergeant, your Platoon Sergeant, your 1st Sergeant, your Company Commander,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Even so like having a simple instruction booklet on how to properly build something you just bought or visa versa. If you don t follow the instructions properly you could have an unstructured piece of construction you are working on. Not following proper instructions/orders and also result in injury, to you, or your fellow soldier near you or even as working in the civilian world just the same action could happen a result of injury or in this case being fired. But unlike the Army you can t get fired, but if the situation is extremely bad you could get a dishonorable discharge and perhaps too some jail time depending on the situation instruction /orders you broke or did not follow. Like not wearing a ACH/ Army Combat Helmet while driving a military vehicle like the LMTV, HumVee, Hemett and so on. Wearing the proper PPE for driving, shooting at the range, while being in combat in a combat environment, and anything that would make you have an injury to yourself, or to your fellow comrade soldier from not following directions/orders on how to use and wear your proper PPE as a United States Of America Army Soldier. So in conclusion I would not recommend that saying in the absentness of orders to take charge, this will not benefit the junior enlisted Specialist, Private First Class, Private II, and Private, but an N.C.O., Staff Sergeant, Sergeant First
  • 10. An Analysis Of Mary Wollstonecraft s A Vindication Of The... The Age of Enlightenment encouraged writers to break away from conventional thought and express their ideas and opinions through reasoning. Mary Wollstonecraft s A Vindication of the Rights of Women and Marquis de Sade s Philosophy in the Bedroom examine the conventional norms in their respective author s contemporary societies. In both accounts, Wollstonecraft and Sade prescribe the path humanity should take in order to improve the human condition. Marquis de Sade develops an unconventional philosophy by claiming that cruelty is nature s most basic quality. He supports the idea that humans are born with the notion of cruelty and thus, should embrace their destructive instincts. According to him, might is right because in the state of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, she focuses on the importance and value of education, believing that the most perfect education...is such an exercise of the understanding as is best calculated to strengthen the body and form the heart (Wollstonecraft 134). Like her Enlightenment contemporaries, she believed that reason was a virtue since it empowered the mind to think freely and independently. Reason allowed one to truly express his or her ideas. The best way to cultivate such reasoning was to become educated. Thus, both men and women should be educated for the betterment of society as a whole since both sexes would then be able to contribute a broader range of ideas. However, the general consensus amongst her contemporaries in 18th century England was that women were more artificial, weak characters...and, consequently, more useless members of society (Wollstonecraft 134). Women were expected to lead domesticated lives and become dependent on men. They were considered as housewives, not expected to contribute to society or stand out in anyway. Therefore, women did not have the same amount of access to a proper education as men did since they were not expected to be involved with forming their own reasoning and opinions. As a result, women only learned what they perceived and experienced from the world, left to play guess work rather than make observations and draw conclusions and speculations. Without critical thinking,
  • 11. Dracula And Dracula Imagine a movie is being shown of a person who is casually minding their own business while taking a stroll through the woods somewhere. Suddenly, there is eerie and suspenseful music playing in the back of the character s mind and they think, What in the world is that? They think A. It must be a song they heard a long time ago, B. Some cute and fuzzy cartoon characters are about to come out and start singing, or C. They re about to run into a scary monster or murder. Odds are, if the watcher know how suspenseful movies and novels go, they would probably pick C. People are able to pick out certain aspects of a novelor movie and know that something bad is about to happen. Same as in the movie Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, originally written by Seth Grahame Smith, and then produced into a movie by Burr Steers. Vampires and zombies, such as in these novels and movies, would make someone scared, mostly because of how strange and different they are from us, also known as The Other. The ideas of suspense, monstrous or scary beings, and The Other shown throughout Pride and Prejudice and Zombies were all influenced by the classic novel Dracula, written by Bram Stoker. The idea of suspense is represented differently depending on what the movie or novel is about. Movies that have characters that are considered to be fictional would more likely have stronger suspense than a movie that has characters that were living in real times. • 12. Protagonist In The Storm What Makes a Protagonist A protagonist is a literary device used to develop a story: the story revolves around the struggle of the protagonist who may undergo a change, usually at the climax (Literary Devices). Using this definition, deciding the protagonist ought to be straightforward; however, if the story follows many characters who undergo some change at the climax of the story, then deciding who the protagonistis will be a bit more complicated. In the story Sweat, Delia can easily be labelled as the protagonist: the story, for the most part, follows her life as she tries to cope with a loveless marriage. She does undergo a change, twice in fact, when she decides not to put up with her husband s abuse, anymore, and when she decides not to help him when he is bitten by a rattlesnake. In The Storm, however, deciding the protagonist is a little more murky. The story focuses on multiple characters and two of the characters undergo a struggle and a change. • 13. The Reflection Of Working In An Enterprise Environment Throughout the semester, I worked at Central Community School District 301 in the information technology department and worked on many different projects. This experience was very impactful because it taught things that classes have a hard time doing or and not able to teach at all. Working in an enterprise environment took all the information that I have gained from computer science classes and focused them into one point. Which is, to be able to work on a team and to be able to create and understand enterprise level software. Most of my time at CCUSD 301 included of me working on self hosted internal education tools for teacher and student use, and creating and updating different automation task that made some manual time consume task, very easy or non existence at all or working on self hosted learning programs for teacher and student use. One of the first projects was for me to make a program that took a picture from a camera renamed it to a normalized name convention and then move it to the correct directory, so that a ID printing software could select the correct picture to print it on the ID. When I first received this project I was thinking, this will be easy because it was just like I did in CSCI 330, UNIX and Network Programming. The only problem was that it had to run on a Windows server and not Linux. Pythonwas already installed on the server for another task, so my manager said that I could use it or any other scripting language that I felt most comfortable with. I chose Python because I did not know many other languages at the time and because I just started taking CSCI 490K which was a classabout Python to solve different problems. After doing research and getting assistant from other members of the team I was able to test and complete the program. Throughout the semester, I came back to this script to refine it after learning new concepts in class to make it more efficient and handle errors better. One of the next projects, also one of the largest was for me to make a new script that interfaced with a Google for education administrator console API in order to manage 8,000 Chromebooks. This was the first project that was given a firm dead line for completion because there was around 4,000

Safety on work place is one of the priority element management of the manufacture put in front, should fix the rules to follow, monitoring. Some area where the standards have to be applied such as in chemicals sections, transportation of materials and fabricated metal products, gas, electric services. Incident communication is about sharing of information about incident management between the decision makers and regulators and stakeholders. Parties can communicate at any stage of the risk management process. The output/result of incident management process should be appropriately communicated and documented for the future reference. • 15. Hegel s Phenomenology Of Spirit Essay Sense Certainty to Hegel is the immediate knowledge given between our mind and the object within the world. This type of knowledge is immediate which means its known as soon as our mind connects or sees the object and it is also receptive meaning we can accept the knowledge the object gives through signals or stimulus. The first appearance of knowledge is therefore the simplest possible relation between us and the object in question. Sense certainty aims to avoid universality as it distorts the world in its simplification whereas particulars will portray the true world. Hegel s Phenomenology of spirit is written in a dialectic form in which he presents an argument before providing an immediate critique which then results in the argument being developed. Sense certainty aims to discuss knowledge in particulars, rather than universals when acquiring knowledge of objects. A series of complex particulars are therefore universals according to Hegel. An example of a particular would be discussing a particular chair which is wooden and scratched, rather than discussing the whole concept of chairs and what they are made for and aim to provide, which would be a seat. Hegel gives his own example of Now is night , at first the now is a particular about the specific time of the day but in the morning or the next day then the night is not in fact now making it not a particular so is therefore a universal term. The Now that is Night is preserved, i.e. it is treated as what it

Both of the main characters in each story have characteristics that could be looked at as being alike, but after analyzing each character I started to find that although alike in some aspects, these two characters are very different from one another. • 17. Review Of Hail The Virgin Queen Essay Hail The Virgin Queen Elizabeth, a film made in 1998 depicts the early years of the reign of Elizabeth I of England and her struggle of learning exactly what it means to be a woman in control of an entire nation. This film is a historical drama with as many ups, downs, twists, and turns one would expect in a film where the main character is considered one of the most esteemed women in history. Elizabeth, played by actress Cate Blanchett at a time when England was divided in deciding whether or not they wanted to be Catholic or Protestant. Queen Mary is on the throne with failing health and being pressured into making the choice of condemning her half protestant sister to death, or letting her live and ascend to the throne. Fortunately, before she passes, her court fails to get her signature on the death warrant and Elizabeth does in fact ascend the throne. Her ascension to the throne is the end and beginning of England. Elizabeth is now the ruler of a kingdom that has no money, no army, and is under constant threat from other nations trying to take control of England. This film directed by Shekhar Kapur and written by Michael Hirst gives the audience an upfront and personal account of a young Elizabeth who is seen as she ages from a blithe Botticelli Venus, to the stony, regal monarch of the film s last scene (Maslin 1). The film begins with violence at the end of Elizabeth s older sister Mary I reign as the Catholic ruler has heretics burned alive in an attempt to stop

  • 22. Literary Analysis Of Amy Lowell s September, 1918 In September, 1918 , Amy Lowell shows her readers an interesting and illuminating poem. That war can be an ugly time and the people that experience it often seems to live in a broken world (19). To fight an evil, sometimes war is needed, nonetheless it is still costly to the people living through the war. Some in a literal sense, like soldiers fighting in a war, while some in a physical sense by the world that they now see and live in. I find the poem truly interesting though, in how the author shows that even in war we can still hold onto hope for more promising days. Lowell portrays a melancholy mood throughout her poem that makes her readers thinking about war but also the hope of it being over. In this poem, we see the tone light and free, also much imagery. We see this immediately with the first line saying, the afternoon was the colour of water falling through sunlight (1). We immediately get a sense of a beautiful day, maybe even fall with the trees descriptions in the following line, trees glittered with the tumbling of leaves (2). Lowell shows such beautiful imagery throughout her poem especially in her first two stanzas, that when we read that they are in the middle of war in the third stanza, that it is slightly shocking. That there are two little boys, lying flat on their faces (7) and that they are, carefully gathering red berries (8). Here Lowell shows that it is still a beautiful day but the darker reality is that they are currently in a war. Then we start to see the poem more in a melancholy light. That these two little boys are picking berries to save for later, instead of enjoying it right now. However one day the boys wish that there will be no more war (10), and that then, they could in fact enjoy their berries, their afternoon and turn it in my fingers . In this poem, we clearly see the different tones throughout. Lowell shows us the light tone, then a more melancholy tone and then finally a hopeful tone. Lowell s poem also seems to radiate a blissful moment and lesson in a time of darkness. That yes, they are experiencing a war but it doesn t mean that there are no more serene moments. For example, how Lowell describes the day, in the poem, as peaceful and the people in the
  • 23. Theoretical Perspectives on Iraq War 2003 INTRODUCTION In this paper, I intend to analyze Iraq war of 2003 from Realist and Marxist / Critical perspectives. I intend to draw a conclusion as to which theoretical framework, in my opinion, is more suitable and provides for a rational understanding of the Iraq War. While drawing comparative analysis of two competing approaches, I do not intend to dismiss one theory in entirety in favour of another. However, I do intend to weigh on a golden balance, lacunas of both theories in order to conclude as to which theory in the end provides or intends to provide a watertight analysis of the Iraq war. Thus, in this context of a unipolar system dominated by U.S., it is highly unlikely that a great power like U.S., motivated by its relentless pursuit of power and security, would allow itself to be deterred by U.N. resolutions that do not comply with its own interests. This also reflects the realist interpretation of international system which is characterized by anarchy and therefore, it is not considered prudent for a State to entrust its safety and survival on another actor or international institutions such as United Nations. CRITICAL THEORY / MARXIST PERSPECTIVE Critical theory, on the other hand, as propounded by Robert Cox is a rejoinder to Neo realism. According to Mark Rupert, Neo Realism only describes patterns in the operation of power among States without inquiring as to the social relations through which that power is produced. Critical theory assumes that power is not given in the form of accumulated material capabilities; in fact, it is a product of social processes. Robert Cox adopted a method of historical structures in which state power ceases to be sole explanatory factor and becomes part of what is to be explained . Critical approach provides a historical background to Iraq war of 2003 which, according to historical materialists, has its roots in U.S. sponsored Fordist Industrial Capitalism linked with geopolitics of petroleum. According to Andrew Basevich (2005 a, 2008, 2010) the very nature of U.S. State policy is characterized by

In this case, Christopher had to forgive and trust his father after he found out that he had killed Wellington. When Christopher found out that Mr Boone killed Wellington, he was very scared, which was one of the reasons that he ran away from Swindon to go to London to live with his mother. Mr Boone tries really hard to gain Christopher s trust once again and make amends. An example of this is seen when Christopher and Ms Boone moved back to Swindon, and Mr Boone tries to gain Christopher s trust by creating a project that he and Christopher have to complete. Mr Boone explains, Let s call it a project. A project we have to do together. You have to spend more time with me. And I...I have to show you that you can trust me. And it will be difficult at first because... because it s a difficult project. But it will get better. I promise. (Haddon 219) This directly shows that Mr Boone is trying really hard to gain Christopher s trust again and make their relationship strong as it used to be. By doing so, Mr Boone also gives Christopher a gift, to act like a peace token. The book states, Then he came back through and gave me the dog. And he said, He s two months old. And he s a golden retriever. (Haddon 219) When Mr Boone did this, it was a way for him to gain Christopher s trust since he killed Wellington the dog, by giving Christopher his very own golden retriever. This acted as a peace offering to bring Christopher and his father together once again and to gain his trust. This sets the notion in the book that there is hope within the family for them to be repaired and to be loving family once

Auster Narrative Style American writer and director Paul Auster uses different literary devices and narrative styles to create a new form of crime fiction, that links the traditional genre characteristics with experimental metafiction and postmodern irony. In the New York Trilogy novels published sequentially as City of Glass (1985), Ghosts (1986) and The Locked Room (1986), Auster uses a number of different narrative styles including pastiche, parody and intertextuality to mix postmodernism with crime fiction. It is clear, that the postmodern detective fiction has a different purpose than just answering all the questions and restore order. At the beginning of City of Glass the narrator describes that detective Quinn s knowledge regarding crime in general, is very average: Like most people, Quinn knew almost nothing about crime. He had never murdered anyone, had never stolen anything, and he did not know anyone who had. He had never been inside a police station, had never met a private detective, had never spoken to a criminal. Whatever he knew about these things, he had learned from books, films, and newspapers. Images Of Witchcraft During Renaissance Culture Images of Witchcraft in Renaissance Culture The witchcraft phenomenon of the Renaissance period was shaped by a wide range of cultural factors; witchcraft was not necessarily subject to a single cohesive idea or concept, and it was often instead a conglomeration of many different societal concerns, concerns which spanned through all spheres of society. Textual evidence from this period provides insight into the way in which witches were conceived, and how witches were dealt with, while visual images present a companion visualisation of the tensions, which influenced created the witch, and the imagery, which came to be associated with witchcraft. The 1486 Malleus Maleficarum set up the precedent for the witchcraft craze, which came to its prime in the mid 16th century, during the Renaissance period. Though the Malleus was not the only factor in this craze, as Margaret Sullivan notes, it made no discernable impact... for nearly half a century , it, with a number of other social factors, provided a wealth of information to witch hunts and hunters. This treatise further established several of the basic ideas essential to the identification of witches such as the identification of witches as largely women; through the treatise s continual argument that women were of gullible and carnal nature the text further advocated ideas of fear and hatred in regards to women. As the witch hunting period grew, the real fears and tensions which plagued all levels of society is clear by

Aesthetics In The Hobbit Susannah Dickerson John Finn NMC 101 3/6/15 The Hobbit: Immersion Control In the film, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, director Peter Jackson implements a number of film aesthetics to enhance the experience a viewer has while taking in the film. Three major aesthetics I picked out were that of the use of 48 frames per second, the movie s score, and the use of color in the film. While some of these aesthetics are apparent, how they enhance the film may not be so obvious beyond the fact that it makes the movie look and sound better. One of the most talked about Aesthetic choices for the Hobbit was director Peter Jackson s decision to release the movie with 48 fps (frames per second), entirely different from the standard 24 fps of the movie ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While 48 fps proved to be controversial, increasing the frame rate and offering higher quality is the future of film. Meanwhile, Score is very important in setting the tone for any type of film or video, and I definitely think I would implement more background music if I were to create any type of video (ads, videos on YouTube, short films) to enhance any viewer s experience. Color, as well, is very important when it comes to video since a color pallet can imply tone, as well as be pleasant or harsh on a viewer s eyes (depending on which colors are chosen and how they are used). As a writer, color is still very important, and can be used as a tool to enhance a reader s imagination when they read your work. Since I am primarily a writer, out of all these aesthetics I see myself implementing the use of color to enhance my stories and paint a better picture for my readers through colorful description. A lot of these aesthetic choices worked well in the film, however, and prove that every small detail put together is what really builds and enhances a story, whether it is through pictures of

Although, I do not really understand the process of evaluating those data but I believe those questions and interview method could enhance the assessment of moral understanding and collect substantially more data by using less time. The author suggests using written interview which could save the manager and researchers time because face to face interview would take more human resources and incur substantial cost of time to get the interview done. Also, managers may have difficulty to find a lot of free time to do the interview. The written interview can solve this problem without having a really difference result with oral interview. Therefore, I believe the author achieve its goal very well. As what I mention before, the purpose of these modifications is to enhance the assessment of managers moral reasoning which finally lead to a better understanding of managers moral decision making process. This article suggests that these adaptions the researcher use may help to resolve the ethical dilemmas at the workplace. The better understanding of managers moral decision making process can help the corporations to have a greater prediction of their organizational ethical behavior. The other two components are instructional strategies and pedagogical tools or online learning technologies. All three components work in tandem to provide the outline for a theory based design framework to facilitate the orchestration of learning activities to deliver online learning. In simple term, the mechanism by which they function can be likened to a set of cogwheels setting in motion all activities relative to the dimension of teaching and learning and driving the dynamics triggered by a set of predetermined learning objectives to make learning possible. Pedagogical models are pre cursors to defining instructional strategies. In turn, instructional strategies provide the directions to educators to design learning activities which are accomplished through the use of digital (learning) technologies, encompassing both asynchronous and synchronous communication tools to orchestrate e learning. 2.2 Pedagogical Models for E learning Many pedagogical models have been linked e learning. Math 221 Week 5 Assignment Essay Buried Treasure Ashford University MAT 221 Buried Treasure For this week s Assignment we are given a word problem involving buried treasure and the use of the Pythagorean Theorem. We will use many different ways to attempt to factor down the three quadratic expressions which is in this problem. The problem is as, Ahmed has half of a treasure map, which indicates that the treasure is buried in the desert 2x + 6 paces from Castle Rock. Vanessa has the other half of the map. Her half indicates that to find the treasure, one must get to Castle Rock, walk x paces to the north, and then walk 2x + 4 paces to the east. If they share their information, then they can find x and save a lot of digging. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Running with this information can now write out the equation AB2 + BC2 = AC2. One important thing is that we must note that AB is equal to X and the line segment of BC is equal to that of 2x+4, and that AC will be equal to that of 2x+6. So we will now input this information to create (x)2 + (2x + 4)2 = (2x + 6)2 and begin factoring each term into two sections. These two sections will be as x*x + (2x + 4)(2x + 4) = (2x + 6)(2x + 6). x times x is x2. An important tool to use now would be the FOIL method, so we will take (2x + 4)(2x + 4) and create 4x2 + 16x + 16. Right off the bat we notice that we have like terms. So we will add x2 to 4x2 to get 5x2. This will create 5x2 + 16x + 16 = 4x2 + 24x+ 36. Now we will use the subtraction property to get 5x2 4x2 + 16x 24x + 16 36 = 0, however we still have like terms, so because 5x2 is a like term with 4x2 we will add them together to get x2. We will also combine 16x and 24x and also 16 and 36 which are also like terms and create 8x and 20, our equation should now look like x2 8x 20 = 0.We will now factor the equation from left to right, first factoring x2 which has 1 coefficient so the fact will be 1 and 1. The other term will be 20 which have no coefficient so we will do 5x4 and then 4 still can be divided so 2x2. This will create 20=225. We will now take a look using the Prime Factorization formula which will aid us in finding the number

The piece of oil painting vividly depicts the nineteenth century French rural life, with a rich flavor of harvest. Jean Francois Millet arranges the farm as the main scene of background, and aims at three women gleaners being bent to pick up ears of wheat. Through the observation of the painting, we can see three peasant women occupy in the center of the screen, each bending with different angles, while their eyes all raking down to the ground. As some parts of background are closer to the light source than the front, they are applied with brighter hues, high in value. In addition, Millet places things like haystack, trees and farmhouse in the back, and peasant women in the front. Hence. On the basis the positions of objects, the principle of line perspective, and the relative distance to the viewer, three gleaners visually appear within a larger proportion on the painting. In other words, the front figures sizes are bigger than the back objects . Further more, in the painting, the Gleaners , the entire screen is filled with contrast elements. First of all, the main figures in the front labor scene are full of rich vigor, contrasting to the background with silent objects such as hay, trees and farmhouse. Secondly, the color brightness of the front contrast to the back, as well as the comparison of relative sizes between figures and scenery, applying the principle of perspective. What s more, the most classic is the horizontal line, the intersection of the sky and the ground, contrasting with the light source, from the top left. Consequently, 2D and 3D spatial effects are combined precisely. Meanwhile, the sense of space of the image is strengthened as well. For this oil painting on canvas, the painter Jean Francois Millet did use concise expression means, instead of complex techniques. Hence,

  • 47. Use Of Language And Context Voltaire s Candide Essay The narrative techniques, features of language and context Voltaire used when writing Candide tells us a lot about this book and what Voltaire was trying to achieve in writing it. Candide is told by a third person narrator who is not a main character in the book and is completely outside of the storyline. The title page of Candideimplies that the book was found and translated by Doctor Ralph who is our narrator. This is a fiction created by Voltaireto distance himself from the book and to help the reader to understand the satirical nature of Candide. Telling the story from a third person perspective allows the narrator to know all the thing the characters in the book do not. He is omniscience, knowing everything about the circumstances and the characters without being involved with them. This approach works particularly well in Candide. It allows the reader to stand back and see how disturbing the word Voltaire has created is. It also gives the reader space to understand Voltaire s purpose in writing Candide without getting too caught up in the plight of its characters. It also really highlights how naГЇve and almost narrow minded Candide is as a character, especially where his philosophical beliefs are concerned. The use of the third person narrator really highlights the more unrealistic moments in the passage, for example: Candide, having served with the Bulgars, performed the Bulgar drill before the general of this little force with such grace, such celerity,
