Nightmare Research Papers
Up to 90% of people dream when they fall asleep not only do they dream but also have nightmares.
Not all nightmares will wake a person up or even be remembered but if they are remembered it
usually strikes fear and worry in the dreamers mind. Nightmares and the level of fear that they possess
all depends on the person who is having them because not everyone s fears are the same thing or are to
the same extent. Nevertheless sleep is split into four different stages, stage one being sleep onset, stage
2 light sleep, stage 3 and 4 deep sleep which can also be known as the REM (non rapid eye
movement) stage which is connected to dreaming. There are different aspects within a nightmare such
as how nightmares come to be and who they effect.

Nightmares and the brain states that nightmares are most common of those between the ages of three
and six probably due to children being very impressionable at these ages. While touching on the
statement of children being impressionable an assistant Clinic professor at Cambridge Health Alliance

reflect this vulnerability with this being a very possible idea it would help explain the reason children
are more prone to nightmares than adults (Nightmares and the

Fear In Finding Nemo
Finding Nemo (2003) is a very touching animated film about a father s journey to find his son. Marlin,
the father, is known as overprotective and wary of all dangers of the sea. Nemo is his only son, and
after a near death experience, Marlin spends his days mostly confined to his sea anemone home
avoiding all possible dangers of the world. Nemo is a very curious and sheltered fish who wants to
experience the world. When this curiosity gets him kidnapped by a sea diver, Marlin s worst fear is
now his reality. Finding Nemo is a heartwarming tale with a strong theme of facing and conquering
your fears. The first scene in Finding Nemo, the audience sees Marlin and his wife admiring their soon
to be babies when suddenly the scene turns dark. The music in the film stops, along with all sounds of
ocean life. Dark shadows are created in the film to fill the audience with fear and dread. The fish are
then attacked by a larger hungry fish leaving Marlin s wife and all but one of their babies dead. The
fear and sadness is apparent when Marlin sheds a tear whilst holding the quivering egg that would
soon be his son. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The audience is easily able to identify moments during the film where danger is imminent by studying
the patterns. Before every dangerous scene, there is a pause a stop, of all activity going on around the
characters. The makers of the film tried to create a realistic oceanic scene while still adding a little
fantasy as well. Realism is a natural style of acting used to make the movie seem 100% possible and
real in the eyes of the audience, (Goodykoontz Jacobs, 2014). The use of underwater sound effects,
fish activity, and bright, scientifically accurate color schemes pulls the audience in and begs them to
stretch their imagination to accept this new reality. Before every scene, all activity ceases, all music
ends, and the colors become dull or even dark

The importance of a control system within the business.
Internal controls are methods or procedures adopted in a business to:
Assist in achieving the businesses objectives
Ensure financial information is correct and reliable
Ensure cooperation with all operational and financial requirements
Protect its Assets
They are essentially checks and balances within a business. It s objective is to reduce errors, limit
financial losses and prevent fraud. They also segregate duties within the company and limit one
persons control over an entire area. For example
never have one person writing, receiving and reconciling your business accounts.
As the owner of Millennium Land Developers, it is your responsibility to ensure that the business has
a good internal control system. As they flow ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After deciding what is required to prevent the occurance of the event, detect if any event has occurred
and to reduce impacts upon the business. The records of these events will be used in case anything like
this ever happens and can be identified to act on the situation. As the owner, you have the
responsibility and accountability for the effectiveness of the internal control system.
Bank reconciliation statements enable the business to compare the business bank account records to
the bank s records of the accounts balance in order to uncover any possible mistakes. Because there is
a difference between the time data is entered into the bank system and when data is entered in the
individual s system, there are sometimes a difference between account balances. The goal of
reconciliation is to determine if the difference is due to error rather than timing. I highly recommend
to do a bank reconciliation monthly as you can be more confident that your current records are correct
and it is easy for your tax agent to prepare the businesses income tax return or activity statements
faster. Any extra transactions that go through the accounts can go through unchecked and end up
costing the business money. Such as: Interest charges, bank fees or direct credits or debits.
A cash budget is an estimate, for a future period of cash receipts and cash payments.

Nuclear Proliferation In Canada
Given the progress of globalization, international security has become an entailment that all countries
must work on in order to guarantee the perennity of world peace. However, this quietude is threatened
by the growing menace of nuclear proliferation. Canada, as a party to the Non Proliferation Treaty
(NPT) since 1969, leads anti proliferation campaigns to ensure global disarmament.
As a NNWS, Canada has conducted a national non proliferation and disarmament policy throughout
the 20th and 21st centuries. After ratifying the Convention on Nuclear Safety in 1994, Canada
published the Nuclear Safety Control Action (NSCA) in 1997, thus establishing the Canadian Nuclear
Safety Commission, which aims to monitor Canadian nuclear activity as well ... Show more content

Besides being a signatory to the NPT, it is party to the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty (CTBT) since
1998, and it takes part in numerous international coalitions that work on nuclear issues, such as the G7
bloc and the Nuclear Supply Group. Moreover, Canada has firmly supported the elaboration of a
Fissile Material Cut off Treaty (FMCT) conducive to the prohibition of fissile material for nuclear
weapons. It has also sustained the Statement of Interdiction Principles emanating from the
Proliferation Security Initiative (PSI) in 2003. Subsequently to the events of 2006 and 2009 that led to
the adoption of the UNSCR 1718 and 1874, Canada has imposed economic and commercial sanctions
on the Democratic People s Republic of Korea. Those sanctions were reinforced after the DPRK s
2016 nuclear test, which Canada s Foreign Affairs minister Stéphane Dion has condemned, as a
violation to international agreements.
Canada strongly recommends enforcing the Non Proliferation Treaty as well as related treaties and
amending them to fit the rational requisites of hesitant non signatory states. Furthermore, Canada
believes that the negotiation and elaboration of the proposed FMCT agreement is necessary, as it
would restrain the spread of nuclear weapons. Canada also urges the International Community to
establish a coalition fit to mediate talks between the DPRK and concerned countries, in order to find a
solution that would be advantageous to all

The American Dream
John s ship finally arrived in New York and he was exhausted. He and his family had to come to
America because of the potato famine that was happening back home in Ireland. The first thing he had
to do was find a place to live at with his family; he realized that the decent houses and apartments
were out of his budget. He only had money for the crowded and unhygienic apartments, if they could
be called that. After John picked a room out, he went to go look for jobs. While he was out looking for
work, he noticed people eyeing him strangely and signs saying No Irish Need Apply . The only type of
jobs he could get were the low paying ones. But he was desperate, so he took them. The workplace
looked filthy and dangerous. John wondered if he would ever be able to move up in the economic
ladder, he believed in the American Dream . Unfortunately, he never did because if he asked for a
raise, he would be fired immediately because other immigrants would have taken the job with lower
pay. This was the life of an Irish immigrant immigrating to America during the famine era. The Great
Famine forced a countless number of Irish people to immigrate to the United States, where they
suffered from poverty and discrimination. Despite all this, the Irish were able to assimilate and
reshape American culture through politics and religion. To begin with, the Irish people immigrated to
America because much of the population was suffering in Ireland. The Irish had been suffering for

The Heart of Road Construction Workers We all have driven by a construction zone or been a

you are approaching a specific work zone. Typically, these signs will say Three miles ahead work
zone, speed limit 55 and any injury to a worker you will be fined 10,000 dollars. Next, you will see
men and women working and others supervising. One of the construction workers will be holding a

designed to keep their hard working men and women safe, heathy, and their employee s happy. Each
employer of Hubbard team must watch and embrace a Zero Accident video. This video contains all the
knowledge you need to be safe while working on the construction site. Also what surprised me the
most about this video was the 30 minute section pertaining to sexual harassment prevention in the
work area. According to Frederick, the newest employee of Hubbard Road Construction Company,
you must really pay attention to the video and make the video apart of your life, and support
prevention as a way of life. Frederick explained that they are all responsible for each other s lives and
making sure that they are all safe. Frederick continued to explain that each month they have to watch
the Zero Accident safety video as a group. Hubbard s road construction company remains trying to
prevent accidents and also forcing their employees to take safety and sexual harassment seriously.
They are also currently trying to improve their Zero Accidents video according to the manger

sexual harassment. So I decided to research sexual harassment in the construction industry and I found

Non Profit Organization Analysis And Financial Evaluation
There are many indexes regarding non profit organization analysis, and financial evaluation focus on
below aspects.
Financial Management
The foundation maintained a total revenue of 64 million, and a total expense of 77 million, which
meant the foundation was a mid sized non profit organization.
Based on the given financial data, and the foundation s previous IRS 990 filings, the foundation ended
in negative for the year of 2012 as 8 million, but they recovered in 2013 with a black ending of 47
million, however they ended at 48 million which was still a negative result for the organization. This
alarming situation showed the deficient ability of the foundation to prepare its budget.

As shown in the Form 990 PF for the past 3 years, the foundation managed positive cash reserves as
its total liabilities and net assets/fund balances were positive. The foundation was in relatively good
financial position during the 3 years.
During the year of 2014, total net assets or fund balances reduced from 72 million to 17 million. A
lower fund balances means the organization is efficiently in employing its resources to the mission
related work. The data showed the foundation was probably more actively spending its cash on their
mission in 2014 than in 2013.

Dna Marker Research Paper
A DNA marker (size standard or a DNA ladder) is loaded into the first well of the gel. The fragments
in the marker are of a known length so it can be used to help approximate the size of the fragments in
the samples. The prepared DNA samples are then pipetted into the remaining wells of the gel. When
this is done the lid is placed on the electrophoresis tank making sure that the orientation of the gel and
positive and negative electrodes is correct. To separate the fragments, the electrical current is then
turned on so that the negatively charged DNA moves through the gel towards the positive side of the
gel. The distance the DNA has migrated in the gel can be judged visually by monitoring the migration
of the loading buffer dye. The electrical current is left on long enough to ensure that the DNA
fragments move far enough across the gel to separate them, but not so long that they run off the end of
the gel. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To visualize the DNA, the gel is stained with a fluorescent dye that binds to the DNA, and is placed on
an ultraviolet trans illuminator that will show the stained DNA as bright bands. The dye can also be
mixed with the gel before it is poured. If the gel has run correctly the banding pattern of the DNA
marker/size standard will be visible. It is then possible to judge the size of the DNA in the sample by
imagining a horizontal line running across from the bands of the DNA marker. The size of the DNA
can be estimated in the sample by matching them against the closest band in the

Essay about Germany and Outbreak of WWI
Throughout time wars have ended with the defeat of one force and the victory of another, those on the
side of defeat almost always being held accountable for the destruction these wars produce. This is
undoubtedly the case with post WWI Germany, burdened with defeat and forced to sign the treaty of
Versailles, thus taking responsibility for the war. Although blamed for the war, it is still a highly
controversial question between historians if the Germans were truly responsible for WWI. However
when studying the actions of Germany as a nation and its leaders in the years leading up to the war,
one can see it is quite accurate to say Germany was responsible for the outbreak of World War One.
Germany had been creating tensions since the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Out of all the other great European powers, Germany and France had the most animosity between
them and this begun after France s defeat in the Franco Prussian Wars of 1871, resulting in Germany

while she could hope some day to regain these provinces. The very peace therefore, which concluded
the Franco Prussian War laid the foundation of another war in the future. 3 It was enough of a disgrace
for France, so grand a country, to suffer such a defeat to the newly created Germany, but with the
taking of Alsace Lorraine Germany accentuated this loss guaranteeing future conflict. In this way
Germany gets the ball rolling so to speak, with these early developments paving the way to war.
Through their initiating of the chain of alliances and their degradation of France, the Germans

Blue Baton Narrative
When I look down, all I observe is the color red on a rugged surface. Thin white lines separate me
from my competition. I glance to my left. I glance to my right. I notice the various colored shirts
alongside me. They all crave the finish line. I grasp the famous red and blue baton in my hands. No
one knows my name or my story, the only article they identify is the number pinned on my Mahwah
Jersey. We all restlessly stand in position while hundreds of people fill the stadium. The gun is raised,
I look up to the sky and pray for wings on my feet, which is the same wish I have for every race. The
gunshot sounds through the air and in a blink of an eye it s over. It s not when you finish or what

Moliere s Tartuffe and the Religious Hypocrisy
Moliere s Tartuffe and the Religious Hypocrisy
Moliere s Tartuffe is a satire based on religious hypocrisy. Every character is essential in Tartuffe. All
of the characters play an important role, but it is easy to say that Tartuffe and Orgon are the main
characters. First, we must know the definition of satire. According to the Merriam Webster Online
Dictionary, satire is defined as literary work holding up human vices and follies to ridicule or scorn (
satire ). In other words, a satire is defined as literary work that uses humor to point out the foolishness
of a person or just in human nature. Religious hypocrisy can be self defined as a false assumption of a

My Mexican Place
A semester is a long period of time to be removed from your normal routine. Being away from my
family and friends for the first time in my life, I struggled feeling comfortable in Italy. Slowly, as I
explored my new city, I found places and foods scattered around the city that made me feel like home
; a term that I realized is flexible and does not mean where you are from, but where you live, and this
semester I have learned to live in the moment. Two weeks after arriving in Florence, while walking
home from dinner across the river, stumbled upon Piazza della Signoria, for the first time. With the
sound of a street performer s violin in the crisp night air, I sat on the edge of the open air gallery of
statues. I still do not know why the piazza affected me the way it did, but with tears in my eyes, I
knew I had found a place in Florence where I could be bitter sweetly happy. Piazza di Santa Croce has
a similar affect on me. My favorite time to visit Santa Croce is in the cold early morning when the sky
is still dark and the piazza is at its emptiest. There is something about the stone, the cold, and the
loneliness that makes my heart ache for home in an inexplicable way. Standing alone, it feels like the

Why We Should Not Raise Active Screen Time
In many ways I m a normal teenager. One way i m not a normal teenager is I play too many video
games. In fact after school I play 1 or 2 video games. During school if i have time I play games on my
phone. I think from all the videogames I play that my grades have dropped some not much but a little.
If we go over the amount of screen time then it could affect us later in life. If we have too much screen
time then the prefrontal cortex won t tell us if something is bad or good because the prefrontal is not
developed fully. The American Academy of Pediatrics should not raise the recommended screen time
from 2 to 4 hours. Your prefrontal cortex isn t fully developed until you re 20, so if you re online you
can make more bad decisions. The prefrontal cortex matures later than other parts of your brain so you
could make bad decisions(Scholastic). If your prefrontal cortex matures later than you will make more
bad decisions. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The AAP should not raise the active screen time from 2 to 4. Neurons are another reason why we
should not raise the screen time. Neurons help us make decisions. In order for your brain to make
decisions, tiny specialized cells talk with each other through a series of neurotransmitters like a circuit
in a computer(Scholastic). If the tiny cells don t talk then we could make a bad decision online. White
matter is called myelin, and it coats the neurons and makes them communicate more effectively to
make the connection better, the axons wrap themselves in myelin through a process called

communication could become worse and we could make more mistakes online. The neurons are
another reason why we should raise the screen time. Neurons will make us make bad decisions online

Subprime Lending
Defining Subprime Lending The problem to be investigated is the effect of subprime mortgage loans
on the economy. According to Merriam Webster subprime is defined as having or being an interest rate
that is higher than a prime rate and is extended especially to low income borrowers; extending or
obtaining a subprime loan (Webster, 2012). Subprime mortgage loans are loans given to people with a
low credit score. Subprime borrowers normally don t qualify for prime loans or prime lending.
According to Jennings, the subprime mortgage market is defined to include those borrowers with a
FICO (Fair Isaac Co.) score below 570 (Jennings, 2012, p. 434).

The vast majority of subprime loans are now securitized; leading to claims that securitization
facilitates predatory lending and should actively police lenders. New standards to protect borrowers
against unfair practices were launched 1 July including requirements to ensure they are not lured into
credit contracts they cannot afford to repay. The standards include provisions to stop predatory lenders
from exploitative practices such as using household items as security for cash loans (Engel, K. amp;
McCoy, 2007).
Lender and Incentives One has to wonder, why were subprime loans pitched to consumers? They
weren t pushed for altruistic purposes; not from the kindness of the heart. The results were inevitable.
According to the readings, subprime loans ended with the same result. They were a risk for the

The Power of Social Engineers in The Art Of Deception by...
The Art of Deception is an in depth look at the vulnerability that the common man has to the social
engineer. Mitnick s perspective comes from a social angle instead of a technological one, seeing as he
is known as the greatest hacker all over media and most of his methods weren t technologically
inclined but socially. A quick look into Mitnick s background, he was an only child who had a knack
for understanding the Nitti Gritty of technology. As a child, he managed to hack the bus system in Los
Angeles and travel for free, exploited telephone networks as a teen and in college, infiltrated their
network and was later hired because it was either that or expulsion. These are just a few of his many
hacking exhibitions. He has served jail time because he realised what he did was wrong and is now
helping companies avoid similar exploitations through his security company, public talks and through
his books.
In this day and age, where information is the new currency on the block, criminals are on the rise to
acquire this information. The book highlights the different techniques and attacks of the social
engineer and how easily we are persuaded into thinking that technology has secured us from these
attacks. He shows these through a variety of stories that have actually happened as indications of our
negligence to these attacks, but as well points out ways that we can protect ourselves from these
attacks and become less victimized by the social engineer. He gets us to look through

International Adoption Is A Growing Trend
Imagine being a child living in a third world country and only being fed two meals a day that barely
provide the nutrients needed to help one grow, along with receiving very little affection. Some people
argue that international adoption, provides a key role in improving a child s life. Although others
believe international adoption creates many complications and should not be an option. Therefore,
many believe adopting a child from an outside country or culture can be quite rewarding for both the
parents and the child; however, international adoption deals with many concerns as well as serious
challenges.
International adoption is a growing trend around the world. It is an alternate way to create or expand a
family; it is a lifetime decision and should be made very cautiously. After World War II (1939 1945)
international adoption started to become popular in the United States. Americans started to adopt
children who were either abandoned or had been orphaned during the war. Although the trend started
to accelerate after the Korean War (1950 1953), when the South Korean government established an
adoption program ( International Adoption ). Adoption programs tend to thrive after a war or a natural
disaster has taken place. Many children that are abandoned or had been orphaned are either left behind
to die or are brought to institutions. Hundreds of children live in institutions, although about 200,000
South Korean children are estimated to have been adopted by families in

Quotes From The Return Of Martin Guerre
Marriage and Meaning
Haley Wagner In 16th century France marriage is not seen as a bond between two people that love
each other. It is instead seen as a man and wife being arranged together as one to assume duties of
gender roles such as the woman having children and taking care of the house, fields, children, and
husband. The man assumes the role of working and passing on family traditions such as working the
land and tending to livestock. Martin Guerre and Bertrande go through the exact same custom except
Bertrande is not an everyday 16th century woman. She is independent and does not want to conform
to customs she does not wholeheartedly agree with. So when Martin Guerre leaves, Bertrande sees his

Even in a time of conflict Bertrande and Arnaud pursue their passion for one another by physically
showing that they care for each other. When Arnaud is released from prison for a short time Davis
states, She gives him a white shirt, washes his feet, and receives him back into her bed ( Davis, 44).
Davis emphasizes that even though Arnaud is on death row that Bertrande risks her reputation by
continuing to care for Arnaud. Bertrande knows what is at stake and she looks past that to care for her
lover. Arnaud returns the favor to Bertrande when he is in court being questioned about Bertrande s
involvement. Davis explains his display of love by stating, Before the court he addresses her gently ;
he puts his life in her hands by saying that if she swears that he is not her husband he will submit to a
thousand cruel deaths (Davis, 46). Arnaud is saying to kill him a thousand times if his love will not
acknowledge him to be her husband. He is stating that he would rather die than to know she does not
accept him as her other half. This display of love really shows how truly passionate Arnaud and
Bertrande were towards each other and shows that despite conflict their love is

MBA 680 Corporate Financial Theory

Valuation Methodology
The valuation of NABR Publishing Ltd encompassed an extensive amount of exercise, and the
valuation required taking into consideration various factors. The Discounted Cash Flow (DCF)
method was used to value the NABR Firm. The DCF Method utilizes the net present value of future
free cash flow projections and discounts the cash flow at a discount rate which was calculated using
two of three options. In turn, this was done using the Weighted Average Cost of Capital (WACC). The
motive for using WACC to get the discount rate is to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Debt and Equity Valuation
This valuation of NABR was based on equity and debt resulting in the financial value of the firm, and
connects with the value of the firm s asset. By using the DCF method, the total fair market value of
the business entity is calculated by discounting future projected cash flows back to the date of
valuation. At the end of the projection period, a residual or terminal value is calculated and discounted
to its present value at the date of the valuation. The theory behind the discounted cash flow method is
that an entity s value is equal to its present value of its expected future cash flow. This method is
considered the most detailed analysis because it is thorough in nature and aids the owner to get a true
picture of the firm value. This consists of certain steps which involve developing a method to be used
to project future earnings of cash flow, a risk adjusted discount rate, discounting the projected cash
flow to the date of the valuation, and capitalizing the terminal year s projection into a residual value
using the discount rate less the growth rate. In this case, we estimated the growth rate of 2.3%, and the
summation of the present values of the discounted cash flows and terminal value.
This method is the most precise method in comparison to the Venture Capitalist method despite the
notion that there is an uncertainty of cash flow projections. Using WACC to calculate the discount rate
assisted in the calculation of the

This article provided insight on managing red tape from the point of view of a business founder. The
author who founded the Virgin Group of companies describes red tape as a hinderance to startup
companies, as if its intended purpose was to limit or prevent success. The author uses his experience
with founding companies to elaborate on the cautionary measures a startup must take as it grows to

The author s comments about Airbnb are shorter, presumably due to the fact that they adhere to the

common opinion on red tape, rules, and regulations implemented by government is that they are a
hassle, they prevent success, and their purpose is to create obstacles for startup companies. Perhaps
this article s intent of advice is skewed, but it effectively raises the questions of how can red tape be

Canadian Culture Essay
Each and every one of the world s many nations is unique in its own way. No two nations are the same
in terms of the way they live. Whether it is driving on the right or left side of the road, pronouncing
words a certain way or using hand gestures to communicate different meanings, each nation of the
world has something that allows it to stand out. This uniqueness can come from certain religions,
cultural practices, geography, history or from a multitude of other reasons. Despite this, a unique
nation usually gains its originality and identity from its people. The way the people interact, live,

There were many different types of encounters including contact, collision and relationship. Initially,
settlers and indigenous tribes were peaceful, sharing gifts and culture. As time progressed however,
natives began to lose face with Europeans. Disease burdened the Natives as their bodies were not
immune to European disease. Many thousands of people died and those who didn t were forced to

settlers after the War of 1812 pushed Aboriginals to the brink of society. New settlers needed the land

Positive Impact Of Queen Elizabeth 1
Queen Elizabeth 1 made a positive impact on England during her reign. However, those who governed
before were not as contributively towards the nation as Elizabeth was and thus can show that
Elizabeth helped restore England back to its power. King Henry the v111 was crowned king at the age

kingdom, the king was seen as strong enough to help lead their country into battles and come back
with a victory. Henry was under pressure to make the Tudor family a successful line of Kings to help

Speeding up k means algorithm by GPUs Krishnali Penta, University of Florida Abstract This paper
gives a brief description of the above titled paper. Data clustering is one of the most widely used
method for various applications. And parallelizing these time consuming applications is of quite
importance. This paper brings out an additional feature of handling input data of various dimensions
and thus accordingly handle it. I. INTRODUCTION In the world of data clustering, K means is one of
the most extensively used algorithms. And the application area is vast ranging from economics,
bioinformatics, astronomy, image processing and so on. All these applications deal with huge chunks

Pros And Cons Of Roman Government
The Roman government is very unique compared to other societies. The majority of societies were
either controlled by monarchy or democracy, however the Romans found a way to have both. The
Roman empire had both a senate and an emperor. The Senate was Democracy which was made up by
electing officials who although made laws couldn t finalize the law without approval from emperor.
The Emperor made up the Monarchy part having the final say in all important objectives. The Roman
Emperor was very much like our modern day president. He oversaw the senate often conducting the
meetings. Even though he conducted the Senate, he actually approved only what he deemed worth for
finalization. Some of the most famous leaders in history such as Julius Ceasar, Augsustus Ceasar, and
Nero were Emperors of Rome. The Senate and the Roman People (SPQR, or Senatus Populusque

Oedipus The King, The Iliad, And Lysistrata
In my World Civilization class, I have studied about the Greek Civilization. Alongside that, my World
Literature class studied the following literary works: Medea, Oedipus the King, the Iliad, and
Lysistrata. Learning about the Greek s philosophy, democracy, religion, the arts, and society helped to
clarify the literature works that I read. The meshing of these lectures has brought forth overlapping
themes that connect history and literature together as one. The Greek civilization intertwined
throughout their literature by many themes, ideas, and concepts. This combined narrative reveals that
history and literature often imitates each other such as the theme wrath among civilizations, the

in this idea to the fullest extent. The concepts blended over into the play of Medea with her wanting

showed up in the Iliad. Achilles wanted to live a short life with victories rather than a long prosperous

in the Eighteenth Century, taking on different contexts for different purposes. An epistle can be a
complex genre of writing. The Epistle can be a collection of poems, a satirical essay, a response to an
author s works or a raging sparring of words. Although quite constraining in format, an epistle
addressed to someone, be it explicit or not can capture the minds of many.
The epistle is notably an ancient form of writing, originating in Egypt as early as 1292 BC. However,
the scholars of Ancient Greece and Rome made the formulae of ... Show more content on

Horace s work does indeed showcase his view of literary culture of that time, highlighting the change
that is occurring and setting rules and boundaries of writing poetry.
From Ancient Greece to Eighteenth Century England the epistle s importance still remains. With the
Ancients vs Moderns argument being in full effect, this added leverage to the use of the epistle in
satire, reproducing the epistolary form as Greats before them had also used. The difference between
Modern thinkers were in stark contrast to the Neo Classical thinkers of the time. The Neo Classical
Aesthetic embodied a group of attitudes towards art and human existence. That of order, logic,
restraint, accuracy, decorum and correctness was favoured over the Renaissance thinkers that believed
imagination, invention, experimentation and mysticism was more important to feature in Literature.
The Augustan Age in which Pope, being a central poetic figure at that time had the most famous and
well recognised modern epistles written both by him and also aimed at him.
Criticism was increasingly popular in the 18th Century, with enjoyment coming from both the original
text and the opinions and responses to the text by others. Of course, Pope perceived some criticism as
incorrect and a personal attack on his own being rather than input on his actual body of work. These
attacks, however, motivate Alexander Pope further, giving him more material

The Craft Beer Industry How Brew Stooges Made Their Mark...
Company Overview During this presentation we will be going into depths concerning the craft beer
industry and how Brew Stooges made their mark on the industry in Huntsville, Alabama. Five years
ago, in early 2010, there was a single brewery in Huntsville, Alabama, one brewery, and the only of its
kind to open since the repeal of national prohibition in 1933. The city literally went for a span of 71
years without a single commercially brewed local beer.
As of June 2015, there are eight breweries in Huntsville, soon to be nine. This smallish southern city,
population 180,000, has undergone a total transformation as far as its craft brewing industry is
concerned. Like so many other American cities, beer has come into the vogue, but few if any can
claim to have experienced such as a rapid, radical, city defining seismic shift. In just five years, old
veteran brewing presences have been established and a younger generation has come along to reap the
rewards of a clientele that continues to refine its taste. It s still very much a work in progress, but to
compare the before and after statistics is shocking. Thanks to a timely repeal of some antiquated laws
that held the brewing industry back a home brewing ban, an ABV cap, a ban on large format bottles
craft beer is now free to thrive.
None of this would likely have happened without the first brewery, the now defunct Olde Towne
Brewing Company, which opened in 2004 to snap the 71 year drought. It s difficult to overstate

The Need For Holistic Education
Over the last few years the need for holistic Education has drastically expanded as the parents,
students, and educators have expressed their need for a different option for mainstream education is
required. Holistic education is a philosophy of education based on the assumption that each person
finds identity, meaning, and purpose in life through connections to the community of interest, to the
natural world, and to humanitarian values such as compassion and peace. Within this holistic
perspective, the student is situated as a dynamic, participatory and critical learner who sees and
comprehends him. The holistic vision incorporates a feeling of the individual who is associated with
his or her encompassing setting and environment (J, Miller 2004). Holistic education is an adventure
for both the teacher and the student.
Your notion of holistic and quality education
What is Holistic Education? The term holistic education is mainly used to refer to the more fair and
humanistic sort of alternative education where importance is given to the experience than the subject
content. Robin and Martin (2003), focused further by expressing ... Show more content on

The behaviours identified in the student profile will also manifest them outside the classroom and
parents should recognize, encourage and desired behavioural changes. It might be challenging for
parents to see the assessment of the student being not the way they expect. As holistic education focus
more on the skills, it might be difficult for parents to understand how the teachers have assess the
skills. Therefore, parents need to be more aware and more educated regarding this as holistic
education is a radical endeavour. As mentioned by Hare (2010), the educational journey starts the
process of self actualization and self realization through relationships, and interconnectedness with
other individuals, groups and the world around them is an integral

After Math lensey namioka
Seven! shouted the teacher. Or did he shout Four ? I shrank down in my seat. Math class was an
absolute nightmare. The teacher scared me so much that my hands got sweaty, and my fingers slipped
on the abacus1 beads. I was in the second grade when I discovered that I suffered from abacus anxiety.
The trouble was that I was going to a school where the teacher spoke a different dialect. I grew up
with Mandarin, the dialect spoken by the majority of the Chinese. When the eastern part of China was
occupied by the Japanese, our family moved inland, to a region where I could barely understand the
local dialect. Writing was pretty much the same in any dialect, so in language and history classes I
didn t have trouble with what was on the blackboard. My problems started in the math class, where we
had to learn the abacus. Before the days of the calculator, the abacus was the main tool for adding and
multiplying. It still is, in many parts of China (as well as in countries like Japan and Russia). The
abacus teacher would shout out the numbers he wanted us to add or multiply. My ears didn t always
understand what he said, so seven, for

Not all nightmares will wake a person up or even be remembered but if they are remembered it usually strikes fear and worry in the dreamers mind. Nightmares and the level of fear that they possess all depends on the person who is having them because not everyone s fears are the same thing or are to the same extent. Nevertheless sleep is split into four different stages, stage one being sleep onset, stage 2 light sleep, stage 3 and 4 deep sleep which can also be known as the REM (non rapid eye movement) stage which is connected to dreaming. There are different aspects within a nightmare such as how nightmares come to be and who they effect. Nightmares ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 3. Fear In Finding Nemo Finding Nemo (2003) is a very touching animated film about a father s journey to find his son. Marlin, the father, is known as overprotective and wary of all dangers of the sea. Nemo is his only son, and after a near death experience, Marlin spends his days mostly confined to his sea anemone home avoiding all possible dangers of the world. Nemo is a very curious and sheltered fish who wants to experience the world. When this curiosity gets him kidnapped by a sea diver, Marlin s worst fear is now his reality. Finding Nemo is a heartwarming tale with a strong theme of facing and conquering your fears. The first scene in Finding Nemo, the audience sees Marlin and his wife admiring their soon to be babies when suddenly the scene turns dark. The music in the film stops, along with all sounds of ocean life. Dark shadows are created in the film to fill the audience with fear and dread. The fish are then attacked by a larger hungry fish leaving Marlin s wife and all but one of their babies dead. The fear and sadness is apparent when Marlin sheds a tear whilst holding the quivering egg that would soon be his son. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The audience is easily able to identify moments during the film where danger is imminent by studying the patterns. Before every dangerous scene, there is a pause a stop, of all activity going on around the characters. The makers of the film tried to create a realistic oceanic scene while still adding a little fantasy as well. Realism is a natural style of acting used to make the movie seem 100% possible and real in the eyes of the audience, (Goodykoontz Jacobs, 2014). The use of underwater sound effects, fish activity, and bright, scientifically accurate color schemes pulls the audience in and begs them to stretch their imagination to accept this new reality. Internal controls are methods or procedures adopted in a business to: Assist in achieving the businesses objectives Ensure financial information is correct and reliable Ensure cooperation with all operational and financial requirements Protect its Assets They are essentially checks and balances within a business. It s objective is to reduce errors, limit financial losses and prevent fraud. They also segregate duties within the company and limit one persons control over an entire area. After deciding what is required to prevent the occurance of the event, detect if any event has occurred and to reduce impacts upon the business. The records of these events will be used in case anything like this ever happens and can be identified to act on the situation. As the owner, you have the responsibility and accountability for the effectiveness of the internal control system. Bank reconciliation statements enable the business to compare the business bank account records to the bank s records of the accounts balance in order to uncover any possible mistakes. Because there is a difference between the time data is entered into the bank system and when data is entered in the individual s system, there are sometimes a difference between account balances. The goal of reconciliation is to determine if the difference is due to error rather than timing. I highly recommend to do a bank reconciliation monthly as you can be more confident that your current records are correct and it is easy for your tax agent to prepare the businesses income tax return or activity statements faster. Any extra transactions that go through the accounts can go through unchecked and end up costing the business money. Such as: Interest charges, bank fees or direct credits or debits. Nuclear Proliferation In Canada Given the progress of globalization, international security has become an entailment that all countries must work on in order to guarantee the perennity of world peace. However, this quietude is threatened by the growing menace of nuclear proliferation. • 9. The American Dream John s ship finally arrived in New York and he was exhausted. He and his family had to come to America because of the potato famine that was happening back home in Ireland. The first thing he had to do was find a place to live at with his family; he realized that the decent houses and apartments were out of his budget. He only had money for the crowded and unhygienic apartments, if they could be called that. After John picked a room out, he went to go look for jobs. While he was out looking for work, he noticed people eyeing him strangely and signs saying No Irish Need Apply . The only type of jobs he could get were the low paying ones. The fragments in the marker are of a known length so it can be used to help approximate the size of the fragments in the samples. The prepared DNA samples are then pipetted into the remaining wells of the gel. When this is done the lid is placed on the electrophoresis tank making sure that the orientation of the gel and positive and negative electrodes is correct. To separate the fragments, the electrical current is then turned on so that the negatively charged DNA moves through the gel towards the positive side of the gel. The distance the DNA has migrated in the gel can be judged visually by monitoring the migration of the loading buffer dye. At the end of the projection period, a residual or terminal value is calculated and discounted to its present value at the date of the valuation. The theory behind the discounted cash flow method is that an entity s value is equal to its present value of its expected future cash flow. This method is considered the most detailed analysis because it is thorough in nature and aids the owner to get a true picture of the firm value. This consists of certain steps which involve developing a method to be used to project future earnings of cash flow, a risk adjusted discount rate, discounting the projected cash flow to the date of the valuation, and capitalizing the terminal year s projection into a residual value using the discount rate less the growth rate. This article strongly suggests the common opinion on red tape, rules, and regulations implemented by government is that they are a hassle, they prevent success, and their purpose is to create obstacles for startup companies. Perhaps this article s intent of advice is skewed, but it effectively raises the questions of how can red tape be monitored and applied to the necessary recipients in a way that they respect and understand the necessary process? Whether it is driving on the right or left side of the road, pronouncing words a certain way or using hand gestures to communicate different meanings, each nation of the world has something that allows it to stand out. This uniqueness can come from certain religions, cultural practices, geography, history or from a multitude of other reasons. Despite this, a unique nation usually gains its originality and identity from its people. The first Europeans had contact with Aboriginals around 1000 AD with the landing of the Vikings in Newfoundland. However, long term settlement and engagement first appeared when Jacques Cartier claimed areas of the St. Lawrence for France in 1534 under Francis I. There were many different types of encounters including contact, collision and relationship. Initially, settlers and indigenous tribes were peaceful, sharing gifts and culture. As time progressed however, natives began to lose face with Europeans. Disease burdened the Natives as their bodies were not immune to European disease. Many thousands of people died and those who didn t were forced to abide by European rule. Even after fighting hard on the side of the British, the emergence of new settlers after the War of 1812 pushed Aboriginals to the brink of society. New settlers needed the land to colonize and farm. Nintendo Chapter 1 Summary What would it be like to wake up inside a linear world where turtles, mushrooms, princesses, dinosaurs, and a little mustached Italian plumber are caught in a deadly fight for their lives? The makers of Nintendo made this possible through the game of Super Mario Bros . In the late 1980s and through the 1990s, Nintendo was a major contender for taking over the technological age. • 44. The Craft Beer Industry How Brew Stooges Made Their Mark... Company Overview During this presentation we will be going into depths concerning the craft beer industry and how Brew Stooges made their mark on the industry in Huntsville, Alabama. Five years ago, in early 2010, there was a single brewery in Huntsville, Alabama, one brewery, and the only of its kind to open since the repeal of national prohibition in 1933. The city literally went for a span of 71 years without a single commercially brewed local beer. As of June 2015, there are eight breweries in Huntsville, soon to be nine. This smallish southern city, population 180,000, has undergone a total transformation as far as its craft brewing industry is concerned. Like so many other American cities, beer has come into the vogue, but few if any can claim to have experienced such as a rapid, radical, city defining seismic shift. In just five years, old veteran brewing presences have been established and a younger generation has come along to reap the rewards of a clientele that continues to refine its taste. It s still very much a work in progress, but to compare the before and after statistics is shocking. Thanks to a timely repeal of some antiquated laws that held the brewing industry back a home brewing ban, an ABV cap, a ban on large format bottles craft beer is now free to thrive. None of this would likely have happened without the first brewery, the now defunct Olde Towne Brewing Company, which opened in 2004 to snap the 71 year drought. It s difficult to overstate ...
