Bookreport The Bully Essays
The Bully by Paul Langan Book Report Shanta R. Wilson Liberty University PSYC/221 Mrs. Rhonda
Wilson July 31, 2011 I am writing my book report for Mrs. Rhonda Wilson, which is the instructor for
PSYC/221. The book I will be giving my report on is The Bully by Paul Langan. This book contains
190 pages. It was copyright in 2002 by Townsend Press, Inc. and printed in the United States of
America. The cover was illustrated in 2001 by Gerald Purnell and was designed by Larry Didona. I
choose this book because it is something children face every day. The Bully is a story about a boy
named Darrell Mercel who lives in Philadelphia with his mom. In Philadelphia, he had a best friend
named Mark that would always help him when he had a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first Friday of New Year, Darrell didn t want to go to the supermarket parking lot to met Tyray
because he didn t want to be scared of Tyray. He decided that he didn t want pay to him again. At
school, Tyray came and asked Darrell about his money, but the teacher came in so Tyray went away.
When they went to eat lunch, Tyray and Darrell started fighting and then Tyray was crying because he
broke his wrist. Finally, they were both sent to the principal office. At that time, Darrell told the
principal what happened. In conclusion, Tyray got suspended and Darrell got a warning. There was
this big fight between the two main characters Darrell and Tyray. Most fights normally go both ways
but this particular fight was strangely one sided. Tyray. The excitement from this scene is clearly the
fight itself and because of the irony of the situation. The irony was that the Darrell was untouchable in
a fight against the bully. Constantly being laughed at and clowned by your peers can get very
frustrating and unbearable. Darrell didn t receive any respect from hardly anyone in school because he
was labeled as a punk from not retaliating to Tyrays foolishness. This conflict led to Darrell taking
martial arts classes, learning a myriad of moves and techniques, and displaying them in the final
altercation between him and Tyray. Darrell had to overcome his struggles with a bully named Tyray.

IRA Bombing
The most common form of terrorism used by the paramilitaries groups was bombings, which in the
case of Irish Republican Army (IRA) was a respond to the presence of the British and British actions
in Northern Ireland. The reason why the nationalist paramilitary groups and the IRA used bombings
was because the extremist nationalists did not what the presence of the British Army in Northern
Ireland and thus resorted to bombings to get the British army withdrawn . The bombings sought to
create a climate of fear over a long period of time especially in places such as London that would not
expect nor prepare for such violence . The bombing campaign committed by the IRA was also
attracted to the idea of a unified Ireland under the rule of a Republic ... Show more content on

During this time tit for tat sectarian murders were prevalent and dangerous as it targeted the general
population rather than other paramilitary groups . This violent form of terrorism was especially
prevalent in the period of 1974 76 where sectarian murders were committed on both sides. The Miami
Show band massacre was one of the most famous of these sectarian shootings that was committed by
the UFV in 1974 and created speculation that the Royal Ulster Constabulary might have been involved
further creating division between the Protestant and Catholic communities . The catholic community
often retaliated to the shootings by bombing protestant businesses such as the attack on Donnelly s
Bar. The Protestants response to these bombings was the killing of five Catholics in what became
known as the Reavy and O Dowd killings . The IRA, however, soon became involved in these
shootings also with the killing of ten Protestant workers in South Armagh in 1976 . These tit for tat
killings were used to create fear in both the Catholic and Protestant communities and were popular
among the Loyalist opposition groups who continued to use it to force the catholic community out of

Hospice vs. Hospitalization
Everyone in this room is going to die at some point and statistically speaking it is more than likely half
of this room will die from a terminal illness. Most often patients with a terminal disease end up living
their last days in the hospital. Hospice is an alternative to institutional death, and one that provides a
holistic approach to improve the quality of life in patient s final days of living. Working as a volunteer
for hospice I have witnessed the quality of care that is provided and the serenity it can bring to a
family. Hospitalization and hospice care provide different services. It is important that people
understand the differences between hospitalization and hospice care, so that as an individual reaches
the end of their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So who pays? The cost of both hospitalization and hospice care are usually paid for through private
insurance, Medicare, Medicaid or other forms of payment. Being covered by Medicare has only very
recently been inducted by congress, and still remains very limited. The results of the National Hospice
Study show positive evidence of Hospice home care costs to be 44 per cent less than hospital based
cost, an average of $95 versus $66 a day, respectively. That is close to a grand a month. Hospice care
tends to be less expensive than hospitalization because there is no use of high cost life saving
equipment, and also because friends and family can act as caregivers, reducing the cost of healthcare
professionals. Who is involved when it comes to caregivers? According to the American Cancer
Society, one of the key differences between hospitalization and hospice care is that family and friends
provide the majority of care. Hospice volunteers work as much with the family as with the patient.
They may teach family members how to change dressings, remove a catheter, administer medicine,
use bed pans, use a hospital bed, or assist in the dying in other ways. In a hospital setting, doctors,
nurses and other healthcare specialists provide the majority of care. The hospice team of professional
consists of a doctor, who serves as a medical director, nurses who provide direct care and case
management, home health aides, social workers,

Dexamethasone Research Paper

Dexamethasone recognition: The dexamethasone binding pocket of GR LBD consists of 3, 4, 5, 6, 7
and 10 helices as well as AF 2 helix. Within the crystals, dexamethasone shows a high affinity binding
to the protein binding pocket [7, 1]. This high affinity binding is explained by the ability of
dexamethasone to form both hydrophobic as well as hydrophilic interactions. Each atom of
dexamethasone interacts with at least one of the hydrophobic residues from the GR LBD binding core.
The hydrophilic interactions is formed by hydrogen bonds between the hydrophilic groups (hydroxyl
and carbonyl groups) of dexamethasone with the protein s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
GR binding pocket is able to bind glucocorticoids, while MR binding pocket can bind
mineralocorticoids only. Glucocorticoids (like dexamethasone) have a 17alpha hydroxyl group at their
C17 alpha position, so they are able to form a hydrogen bond with Q642 of the GR LBD. In contrast,
this hydroxyl group is absent at mineralocorticoids, then, GR LBD cannot bind by hydrogen bond to
mineralocorticoids. Furthermore, it was proposed that the leucine (hydrophobic residue) of MR inhibit
the hydrogen bond formation between glucocorticoids and the MR. Obviously, the selectivity of GR to
glucocorticoids is a result of both the side pocket formation and the ability to form hydrogen bonds
with glucocorticoid. [1,

Crime, As A Phenomenon, Tends To Vary In Prevalence By
Crime, as a phenomenon, tends to vary in prevalence by location. Some scholars state that a city does
not develop randomly, but grows according to basic social processes such as invasion, dominance and
accommodation (Robert E. Park, 1925) which then establishes a moral order . social ecosystems
behold and develop unique values meaning the sanctity of aspects such as family, environment,
materials, and culture in certain geographical spaces may be more susceptible to crime than other
spaces. In Australia, the two biggest factors that influence the rate of crime seem to be population
density and economic disparity. This, along with acclaimed criminological theory such as crime
pattern theory and routine activity theory provides an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
From January 2016 to January 2017, Fremantle experienced 383 assaults, North Bridge with 420, and
Perth with 834. Although the scene of the nightlife in itself may have some contribution to criminal
activity, it is typically the socialisation between large, dense groups of people that encourage
potentially dangerous factors like drug and alcohol abuse. However, with non violent crimes, some
researchers found that property crime is more prevalent in regions containing smaller cities and towns
rather than large cities (André Michel Guerry, 1830). Overall, Guerry end up concluding that
associating crime as a direct correlation to population density is rather an oversimplification of crime
as a phenomenon, ignoring a variety of factors which regularly (but not all the time) accompany
population density. Guerry s conclusion still holds strong relevance in contemporary arguments;
especially in Australia. The state governments of New South Wales and Victoria predicate their
arguments for more funding from the Australian Grants Commission on the fact that their cities are
larger and more densely populated thus producing a more crime producing environment which
justifies more funding. However, this justification is opposed by surveys and police data that express
WA and SA having experienced higher crime rates than NSW and Victoria, and their cities having at
minimum similar rates with the two

The Limitations Of Frye s Green World
What are the limitations of Frye s Green World model as applied to Twelfth Night by William
Shakespeare? Twelfth Night was thought to be written in 1600 1. The play known for adhering to a
genre of romantic comedy by utilising pathos combined with humour is listed under comedies in the
First Folio of 1623 with another of Shakespeare s works As You Like It. Twelfth Night adheres to Frye
s theory to some extent. The old world, one of repression, is conveyed through the puritanical beliefs
of Malvolio; the green world is conveyed through the theories of disguise and confusion; and a new
world is established through the restoration of order and the marriages in Act 5. However, the
continuous adherence to the old world through Malvolio and a lack of clear structure when
transgressing the worlds limits the extent of Frye s theory. The flexible structure is perhaps more
indicative of Berger s second world theory. My aim is to explore the limitations of the green world
within the play Twelfth Night. Music permeates Twelfth Night immediately in Act 1 Scene 2 with
Orsino s opening declaration of love If music be the food of love, play on (lines 1 2), through this he is
established and characterised as an extravagant lover, indulging in his hyperbolic passion for a woman
who does not return his love. His language is full of romantic clichés such as ...was I turn d into a hart
(line 21), this metaphor allows Shakespeare to not only intensify the exploration of the genre of

The Discovery Dispute And Its Effect On The Status As A...
For the reasons stated in Part II(A), supra, Avpro enters this discovery dispute with a distinct
advantage due to its status as a non party. Independent of its status as a non party, the electronic
discovery that 50NL seeks from Avpro would otherwise be undiscoverable because Avpro s need for
the discovery does not outweigh the burden and cost of locating, retrieving, and producing the
information. Md. Rule 2 402(b)(2). Moreover, the fact that 50NL s need for the requested discovery is
de minimis, the burden and costs imposed on Avpro are exorbitant, all in conjunction with the fact that
Avpro is a non party to the underlying litigation, all indicate that this Court should deny 50NL s
motion to compel.

Respondents respectfully submit that this Court should look to the factors articulated in Zubulake to

favor of denying 50NL s motion to compel, and those that do not, certainly do not weigh in favor of
granting the motion. First, both of the respective requests ask for all written communications between
Greg Noval and Avpro spanning a period of nine months. Granted, the requests purport to limit its
scope to communications involving aircraft. Lest we not forget, however, that Avpro is an aircraft
broker, and as such, this purported limitation rings hollow. Indeed, perhaps every incoming or
outgoing communication sent from or received by Avpro relates to an aircraft in some way or another.
As such, the incredibly broad scope of the discovery request at issue militates in favor of denying
50NL s motion to compel. Moreover, in this matter, not only is all the information that Avpro seeks

Plea Agreement Advantages
Plea Agreement
Introduction
A plea agreement is when the defendant agrees to plead guilty and the prosecutor offers to either
reduce the charge to a less serious offense, drops a charge, or recommend a specific sentence to the
judge (Williams Wilson, 1981). A plea agreement is more common than a case going to trial, in 2012,
97% of federal cases ended in plea bargains rather that going to trial (Goode, 2012). In the case for
Richard, there is no telling what the results would have been if he had a jury trial rather than taking the
plea agreement but it can be said that he made the correct decision by taking the plea.

When he looks back on that decision, he believes that his lawyer convinced him to make the wrong
decision. It is unknown what the outcome of Richard s life would have been if he had taken his case to
trial, but it seems that the plea agreement was the correct way for him to go. Richard undeniably
murdered his mother. He was seventeen years old and was old enough to know that murder is wrong.
Richard did grow up in a household where he was mentally abused, but does that justify or give him
an out for killing his mother? A jury would have seen Richard s case in a few different ways. One way
they could have seen the case would be that Richard was an abused child, he did not understand what
he was doing, and he does not necessarily deserve to be punished for it. Another way the jury could
have seen his case would be that Richard was nearly an adult who murdered his mother, hid the body,
and then manipulated people into thinking that he was truly concerned about his mothers whereabouts
while the whole time knowing what he did. If the jury would have seen Richard s case like that, he
probably would have ended up with the maximum

Strict Constructionist Dbq
When it comes to the understanding of the Constitution, Jeffersonian Republicans are generally
characterized as strict constructionists who were opposed to the broad constructionism of the
Federalists. This characterization however, fails to take into account the complexities of the domestic
and foreign policies supported during the presidencies of Jefferson and Madison, as well as ideas held
by the Federalists support the idea that they supported some principles of a strict constitutional
interpretation when it suited their cause. Between 1801 and 1817 it is clear to see that both parties to
some extent crossed their political lines when it was the best way to achieve their political agendas.
On August 13th 1800, before his election Thomas Jefferson wrote to Gideon Granger, a future
member of Jefferson s cabinet, about taking down the Federalists, protecting the state s rights, and that
the Constitution is the wisest piece of political literature to address the needs of such a varying and
diverse nation(Doc. A). Thomas Jefferson was the Third president of the United States, the primary
author of the Declaration of independence, and believed that America should grow as an agrarian
nation with a limited central government and strong state governments. This document shows that
Jeffersonian Republicans were strict interpreters of the Constitution by telling us directly that
changing the federal constitution to hurt state governments defines this new nation as a monarchy, and

How Is Transcendentalism Similar
There s a huge disconnection between life and death such as Gothic Literature and Transcendentalism.
Although Gothic Literature and Transcendentalism are Literary movements that began and started to
bloom at the same time, they are very discrete from each other. Gothic Literature is known as anti
transcendentalism and both movements are basically opposite from each other. In some aspects, both
philosophies were alike but both have more differences that outweigh the similarities. Gothic
Literature and Transcendentalism both differ in the type of movement, views on God, and
characteristics. Both Gothic Literature and Transcendentalism are literary movements focused on very
different topics. The Gothic, a literary movement that focused on ... Show more content on

can reduce the chances of you developing atherosclerosis, with a consequent reduction on the

When you consider all of these benefits of the Omega fatty acids, and also of calcium and

Soft Release Program
Conservation is the act of preservation of nature, it includes the conservation of animals and their
habitats (Cambridge Dictionary). Animals are being conserved because humans are increasing the
natural rate of extinction, resulting in animals becoming endangered before they would be naturally
(Jowit, 2010). There are many conservation programs dedicated to helping slow down and reduce the
rate of extinction. Some of these programs aim to preserve the natural habitats of animals and other
programs promote the breeding of the animals. All of these programs hope to increase the population
of the animal in the wild. It is vital that the animal goes through these programs before their release so
that they have a chance of surviving in a wild environment. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

be more beneficial for the animal. A soft release program leaves the animal in its release pen for a time
before it is released, this allows it to leave when it likes and removes pressure on it. A hard release is
when the devil is released without spending any time in its environment. This will also help to
understand effective ways to release the Devil. Programs like this are the groundwork for conservation
and is paving the way to an increase in the population (Tasmanian Government). For a positive future

Waugh s satirical novel, The Loved One, follows the lives of Dennis Barlow, an Englishman, and
Aimée Thanatogenos and Mr. Joyboy Americans each a mortician in his or her own regard. Through
his satirical style, characterization and setting, and abrupt transitions, Waugh comments on the self
serving tendencies of humans and the drastic consequences those can have. Through the interactions
of Englishmen and Americans, Waugh depicts the cultural differences between those from his home
country of England and America. Finally, set against the backdrop of two cemeteries, Waugh entangles

Barlow is established as the selfish character, and his response to Thanatogenos death is no exception.
Barlow takes advantage of the fact that Thanatogenos was last engaged to Joyboy. His repeated use of
your creates a tone of seriousness, but also reinforces the fact that he has completely shifted the blame,
along with his feelings for Thanatogenos off to Joyboy. Additionally, prior to meeting with Joyboy,
Barlow is confronted by Abercrombie and is asked by the Cricket Club to leave for England, all
expenses paid. Regardless, taking advantage of Joyboy s need to explain the disappearance of
Thanatogenos, Barlow demands the expenses needed to create a cover up in which he and
Thanatogenos elope to England. Joyboy, his career threatened and his love gone, accepts and
surrender s his life savings to Barlow. Waugh makes Barlow s demands forceful and dispassionate,
further distancing himself from Thanatogenos and making the reader wonder whether his love was
genuine, a sentiment which was brought into question frequently. Finally, Barlow is seen as the greedy
opportunist throughout the novel. He stays true to his character until the end of the story, essentially
conning Joyboy out of his money. Waugh ends the novel in the same cynical style he employs for the
majority of the novel, using his cynicism and satire to show how greedy

Hobbit Movie Comparison
Film Review: The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies
When The Hobbit began entitled as The Unexpected Journey in late 2012, its trip to become a
movement picture version, only two films were considered: 2012 s The Hobbit: An Unexpected
Journey and The Hobbit: There And Back Again. With the remarkable success of both movies, Peter

as altered the title of the ending film to The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies. There have been
some complaints from fans about that conclusion, but regardless, it s safe to say The Hobbit: The

Lucid Dreaming Paper
Studies with Lucid Dreaming as add on therapy to Gestalt Therapy
Hannah Carter
Pikes Peak Community College
Abstract
The following paper analyzes a psychology journal that examined the results of a clinical study
seeking to teach lucid dreaming, in partnership with gestalt therapy, as an additional tool for dealing
with nightmares. B. Holzinger, G. Klosch, and B. Saletu define lucid dreaming as a learnable skill
with in which the nightmare sufferer learns about dream awareness techniques, providing them with a
means of control when experiencing nightmares (p. 355). In association, Gestalt therapy is defined as
a conscious confrontation of nightmare images in a therapy setting, often by role playing. The
argument is made that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

their patients with, would decrease the patient s anxiety and therefore decrease the frequency of the

frequency, it can be assumed that the researchers think their results can be applied to the greater
majority of adults suffering from recurrent nightmares. The researchers are assuming through this
assertion that all adults suffering from nightmares are under stress. This can be applied to adults who
are suffering from specifically stress resulting from events from 2014. It is not accurate to assume that
all stress is the same and that people will be affected similarly to

The Effects Of ImmigrantsAgquisition Of English As A...
Sociologists typically assume that immigrants acquisition of English as a second language follows the
opportunities and motivations to become proficient in English, while many linguists argue that second
language acquisition may be governed by maturational constraints, possibly biologically based, that
are tied to the age at onset of language learning. In this article, I use U.S. census data to investigate the
relationship between age at onset of second language learning and levels of English language
proficiency among foreign born adults in the United States. The overarching conclusion is that
proficiency in a second language among adults is strongly related to age at immigration. Part of that
relationship is attributable to social and demo graphic considerations tied to age at entry into a new
country, and part may be attributable to maturational constraints.( Age at immigration acquisition of
language, English as second language, second language proficiency)* When investigating second
language (L2) acquisition among immigrants, sociologists and economists often rely on exposure or
human capital frame works, in which L2 learning is prompted by opportunities and motivations to
become proficient in English. Much of this research shows that social and demo graphic factors, such
as length of residence in the U.S. and educational attainment, strongly predict levels of proficiency in
English among foreign born adults. Linguists, by contrast, start from the premise that

out of three students were reading below grade level. In certain demographic groups, the achievement
gap was even wider (Spann, 2014). South Carolina set up the Read to Succeed Act that requires

Of God and Nature
Gloria Omole
1. There are two books that give me my divine stance: the one God wrote himself (scripture) and the
alternative for those who don t seek the bible (nature). Those who have not seen his teachings
firsthand know of him through his scripture. 2. The sun caused the ones that know him through
scripture to appreciate him; it was a miracle that was to be taken note of above all his other miracles 3.
The pagans knew how to read the word better than Christians themselves, although they read less into

How To Write A Rhetorical Analysis Of Two States Speech
Peace, a wish every nation struggles to gain, with war taking over our history and the present day. But
when speaking of peace two countries that could be looked at a little longer are Israel and Palestine,
these states have struggled with war and violence for years. It seems they have been stuck in an

The Great Gatsby Modernism Essay
Modernism is a very broad term that is often misconstrued. Modern art is used to describe art that has
been created recently. The word people mean to use is contemporary . Modern art is a tough adjective
to define. Modern art has many definitions including 1920s through 1940s, Dadaist, and streaming
consciousness. However, conspicuous consumption is the term that should always be thought of when
someone mentions modernism and that art associated with it. Modernism can be defined using
Thorstein Veblen s conspicuous consumption.
To understand conspicuous consumption, we first must know a little about Thorstein Veblen, the man
who came up with the perspective. Thorstein Veblen was an economist and sociologist popular for
Conspicuous Consumption and his book The Theory of the Leisure Class . He was born in July of
1857 and died at the age of 72 in August of 1929. He got a degree from Johns Hopkins and Yale in
philosophy, getting his doctorate degree in philosophy at Yale. Thorstein remained unemployed after

I learned that by annotating a certain part of the reading, it helped increase my understanding. Not
only that but it helped me not miss a single bit of important information. Writing notes in the margins
of the text was really helpful because it was a summary of the entire paragraph and whenever I would
look back at my notes, it reminded me of what I read. Also, circling words I didn t know was very
accommodating because again, it helped me understand the concept a bit more. Underlining words
that seem important to you is a big tip I suggest because you are able to use that information when you

Dressing the finish wheel is of utmost importance to ensure that the skates have parallel edges and a
good hollow. The next step of the process is to start sharpening the skate blades. First you clamp the
skate in the clamp with the toe to the front of the clamp, and then lock the blade in tightly. Next slowly
slide the skate across the wheel being sure not to over rounding the toe and heel of blade too much.
Complete this step about 10 times for a blade that has not first gone over the cross grinding wheel. For
a blade that has gone across the cross grinding wheel do this step until the cross grinding marks are
gone. Then unclamp and do the same to the second skate blade. As soon as you finish the number of
passes on the skates you check the blade of levelness or parallel edges on both sides of the blade. You
do this step by setting the gauge in the front, middle, and back of the skate if the gray line on the level,
is level all the way across go on to the final step. If the edges are unlevel when you put the gauge, on
you must figure out if the knobs on the clamp have to be turned up or down in the front or the back or
both. To do this you look at which side the gray line is showing more of if it shows more on the left
side when the gauge is on the front you turn the knob down in the front of the clamp and vice versa for

Marx and Engels suggested that the bourgeois revolution destroyed everything that was once held
sacred because people had to give up their dreams, passions, and occupations in order to provide for
themsel The alienation of labor added insult to injury because workers were forced to sell themselves
into slavery.
The destruction of the feudalism, and the industrial revolution was what created capitalism. During the
19 century, the industrial revolution had allowed the once impoverished to become obtain wealth
through manufacturing and creating jobs, which created new oppressors. The workers that they
employed were alienated because they could afford the products they made while working harsh hours
in horrible conditions. Which lead Marx to create the Communist Manifesto, which divided people
into two classes: the property owners (Bourgeoisie) and the workers (proletariat) . He did this because
felt pity for the workers and wanted to go back to simpler times and knew industrial societies were
developed enough to have a workers revolution. This had led revolutions because the people he called
the proletariat were outraged and wanted a better standard of living. Thus, leading to future
revolutions throughout the world.
To understand how capitalism started must first know what feudalism was. Feudalism was a medieval
hierarchal power structure of King s, Nobles Knights, Peasants , and Serfs etc. The King ruled what
was known as divine rights of kings. The king s rule was

Analysis Of George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Thomas...
Rachel Hutter: Engineer, Imagineer, and Mother If you could have dinner with any person, living or
dead, who would it be and why? This question is most commonly asked at an event filled with a large
group of strangers, as an icebreaker. Many would typically answer, George Washington, Ben Franklin,
Abraham Lincoln, Thomas Jefferson, and maybe if someone wants variety they could say someone
like Marie Curie. All of these answers are superficial and simply the first historical person that
someone could think of. In fact, I know I would have answered with George Washington. He was the
first one to my mind, but why? Do I really want to have dinner with George Washington? What would
I even talk to him about? I imagine the conversation would go something like this, Me: So uhm, I just
wanted to thank you for crossing the Delaware River and stuff, that was pretty amazing and really
impacted the rest of our country and our freedoms, thank you. George: Yeah happy to, I m glad I did
that too. *Proceed to eat lunch quietly because I don t have questions nor really care. I could just read
a history book and know the information I would ask from him. So when I was asked, what engineer
would I want to have dinner with? it made me really hesitate and actually think for a minute. To then
specify further and be asked what women engineer I would want dinner with made me really self
reflect. What questions would I want to ask another female engineer? What are my final goals? What

Looking For Alibrandi Chapter Summaries
Looking for Alibrandi written by Lina Marchetta, involves talking about how Josephine Alibrandi is
the child of a single mother, Australian, female and being Italian which affects Josephine in all these
points. Lina Marchetta portrays Josephine to be struggling with all these issues in her life and how she
manages to overcome them.
Josephine Alibrandi is has an Italian background but was born in Australia. This causes Josie to go
through some tough times in her last year of school. At times through this book Josie had been a
victim of racial comments. Josie was commonly called ethnic and got harassed for it due to being
different from other people such as when she hit another student in the nose with her science book for
being racist. Lina ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Josie had a night job at McDonalds and was almost raped after finishing by a boy she know until
Jacob Coote stopped it. This left her feeling vulnerable.
Josie struggled with dating Jacob Coote because he was eager to have intercourse with Josie but she
wasn t ready to give up her last piece of innocence to him. This left Josie with the thought that Jacob
Coote was going to get inpatient and break up with her for not having intercourse. Lina Marchetta
may have been trying to teach us that it can be hard to be in a relationship if both of you aren t on the
same page about something.
Josie comes across a dilemma of who to choose as a boyfriend. Josie was interested in john Barton the
nice, polite and wealthy guy or the lively, intelligent, naughty Jacob Coote. Josie did come to a
decision and chose Jacob coote but remained being good friends with John Barton until he committed
suicide. Josie and Jacob were both in a bad state after his death, which resulted in Jacob Breaking up
with Josie thinking that he wouldn t offer her much being together. Lina marhcetta was trying to show
us that no matter how good you think life can be it will always have tough times but they are possible

Perceptive Categories
It s a sad occurrence, but these types of misfortunes (stumbling) don t happen unless you are in the
wrong surroundings. Avoid those surroundings! Sometimes wisdom comes by observing people. If
you are observant of people s behavior you ll notice that there are three types of people in this world:
the Predators, the Prey and the Perceptive. Let s take a look at the definitions for each of these words
Predators are people who plunders or destroys; a, group, that steals from others or destroys others for
gain. Prey is someone who is helpless or unable to resist attack; a victim. The Perceptive are people
who are quick to understand, showing sharp, keen insight (and the definition I like the best) they know
what s what. I pray that you are a perceptive ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The enemy knows that you are no longer under the covering of your parents and they are not there to
tell you what to do and what not to do; where to go and where not to go. Your parents won t be there
to see everything you re doing, and the enemy knows that you are vulnerable and he will be on the
prowl, trying to destroy you. Remember, John 10:10 says The thief (satan) cometh not, but for to steal,
and to kill, and to destroy: I am (God) come that they (you) might have life, and that they (you) might
have it more abundantly. (Parenthetical insertion for clarity)You will have to be perceptive because the
enemy will not come looking as you expect him to look. Sometimes he comes in the form of a pretty
young girl, or a handsome young guy, or maybe he ll come in the form of a good buddy like Justin s
buddy. You ll never be able to recognize the enemy unless you re daily asking God for wisdom and
discernment (because you will need it every day of your

The Cardiovascular System And Its Blood Transporters Essay
Introduction: The cardiovascular system and its blood transporters continue to amaze scientists, as
wells, as others due to its fascinating functions. The cardiovascular system inhales oxygen and
functions to pump blood. It also, transports nutrients throughout the body. This system, then,
administers a crucial chemical reaction between the blood and hemoglobin. Hemoglobin is a particular
protein responsible for binding to oxygen molecules and transporting those molecules to the body s
tissues. Because of hemoglobin s important function, the body is able to properly distribute oxygen
molecules, proteins, and hormones throughout the whole body.
A spectrophotometer becomes a useful tool in determining the concentration and the identity of an
unknown sample. The data gathered from a spectroscope measures absorbance through light waves. A
spectrometer measures how much a sample absorbs light as light passes through the sample inside of
the device. Also, spectronomy is a quantitative analysis, which absorbs light over a variety of
wavelengths. It depicts the movement of electrons. More concentrated solutions will possess a higher
absorbance due to the electrons being excited and moving into higher energy levels. The principle of
spectrometry can be applied when determining the concentration of an unknown sample as well. From
the information gathered, one can create a standard curve in order to discover the range of absorbance
and the identity of the unknown sample.

Six-Minute Walk Test
In clinical practice, functional tests are important tools to assess exercise capacity of patients with
chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)1. The gGold standard test to identify the cause of
exercise intolerance is the maximal cardiopulmonary exercise testing with direct measurements of
expired gases1,2. However this test is complex, expensive and requires specialized staff, precluding
their use in clinical routine3. As an alternative to maximal cardiopulmonary exercise testing, the six
minute walk test (6MWT)4 has been more commonly used, since its cost is low, it is easy to perform
and has been used to assess exercise capacity before and after interventions. Currently the 6MWT is
well standardized by ERS/ATS4 and is the test most often used test in clinical practice to determine
the exercise capacity of chronic lung disease. Moreover, 6MWT is also a ... Show more content on

The comparison of tests conducted by different assessors should be seen with caution since it is
expected an increase in the error due to interpersonal differences in voice intonation in the verbal
incentives, ability in assessing the changes in physiological measures, and trust of the patient with the
assessor, causing an error an error rate which could complicate the interpretation of changes in the
functional capacity. However, few studies22,23 tested the inter rater reliability for the 6MWT, and
they verified only in a population with multiple sclerosis. Therefore, the inter rater reliability of
6MWT is still unknown in patients with COPD, which explains the relevance of our study. The aim of
this study is to analyze 6MWT the intra and inter rater reliability in patients with COPD. The authors
hypothesized that 6MWT would be reliable, in inter rater

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

  • 2. Bookreport The Bully Essays The Bully by Paul Langan Book Report Shanta R. Wilson Liberty University PSYC/221 Mrs. Rhonda Wilson July 31, 2011 I am writing my book report for Mrs. Rhonda Wilson, which is the instructor for PSYC/221. The book I will be giving my report on is The Bully by Paul Langan. This book contains 190 pages. It was copyright in 2002 by Townsend Press, Inc. and printed in the United States of America. The cover was illustrated in 2001 by Gerald Purnell and was designed by Larry Didona. I choose this book because it is something children face every day. The Bully is a story about a boy named Darrell Mercel who lives in Philadelphia with his mom. In Philadelphia, he had a best friend named Mark that would always help him when he had a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The first Friday of New Year, Darrell didn t want to go to the supermarket parking lot to met Tyray because he didn t want to be scared of Tyray. He decided that he didn t want pay to him again. At school, Tyray came and asked Darrell about his money, but the teacher came in so Tyray went away. When they went to eat lunch, Tyray and Darrell started fighting and then Tyray was crying because he broke his wrist. Finally, they were both sent to the principal office. At that time, Darrell told the principal what happened. In conclusion, Tyray got suspended and Darrell got a warning. There was this big fight between the two main characters Darrell and Tyray. Most fights normally go both ways but this particular fight was strangely one sided. Tyray. The excitement from this scene is clearly the fight itself and because of the irony of the situation. The irony was that the Darrell was untouchable in a fight against the bully. Constantly being laughed at and clowned by your peers can get very frustrating and unbearable. Darrell didn t receive any respect from hardly anyone in school because he was labeled as a punk from not retaliating to Tyrays foolishness. This conflict led to Darrell taking martial arts classes, learning a myriad of moves and techniques, and displaying them in the final altercation between him and Tyray. Darrell had to overcome his struggles with a bully named Tyray. What made this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. IRA Bombing The most common form of terrorism used by the paramilitaries groups was bombings, which in the case of Irish Republican Army (IRA) was a respond to the presence of the British and British actions in Northern Ireland. The reason why the nationalist paramilitary groups and the IRA used bombings was because the extremist nationalists did not what the presence of the British Army in Northern Ireland and thus resorted to bombings to get the British army withdrawn . The bombings sought to create a climate of fear over a long period of time especially in places such as London that would not expect nor prepare for such violence . This violent form of terrorism was especially prevalent in the period of 1974 76 where sectarian murders were committed on both sides. The Miami Show band massacre was one of the most famous of these sectarian shootings that was committed by the UFV in 1974 and created speculation that the Royal Ulster Constabulary might have been involved further creating division between the Protestant and Catholic communities . The catholic community often retaliated to the shootings by bombing protestant businesses such as the attack on Donnelly s Bar. The Protestants response to these bombings was the killing of five Catholics in what became known as the Reavy and O Dowd killings . The IRA, however, soon became involved in these shootings also with the killing of ten Protestant workers in South Armagh in 1976 . These tit for tat killings were used to create fear in both the Catholic and Protestant communities and were popular among the Loyalist opposition groups who continued to use it to force the catholic community out of Northern Ireland ... • 4. Hospice vs. Hospitalization Everyone in this room is going to die at some point and statistically speaking it is more than likely half of this room will die from a terminal illness. Most often patients with a terminal disease end up living their last days in the hospital. Hospice is an alternative to institutional death, and one that provides a holistic approach to improve the quality of life in patient s final days of living. Working as a volunteer for hospice I have witnessed the quality of care that is provided and the serenity it can bring to a family. Hospitalization and hospice care provide different services. So who pays? The cost of both hospitalization and hospice care are usually paid for through private insurance, Medicare, Medicaid or other forms of payment. Being covered by Medicare has only very recently been inducted by congress, and still remains very limited. The results of the National Hospice Study show positive evidence of Hospice home care costs to be 44 per cent less than hospital based cost, an average of $95 versus $66 a day, respectively. That is close to a grand a month. Hospice care tends to be less expensive than hospitalization because there is no use of high cost life saving equipment, and also because friends and family can act as caregivers, reducing the cost of healthcare professionals. Who is involved when it comes to caregivers? According to the American Cancer Society, one of the key differences between hospitalization and hospice care is that family and friends provide the majority of care. Hospice volunteers work as much with the family as with the patient. They may teach family members how to change dressings, remove a catheter, administer medicine, use bed pans, use a hospital bed, or assist in the dying in other ways. In a hospital setting, doctors, nurses and other healthcare specialists provide the majority of care. Within the crystals, dexamethasone shows a high affinity binding to the protein binding pocket [7, 1]. This high affinity binding is explained by the ability of dexamethasone to form both hydrophobic as well as hydrophilic interactions. Each atom of dexamethasone interacts with at least one of the hydrophobic residues from the GR LBD binding core. The hydrophilic interactions is formed by hydrogen bonds between the hydrophilic groups (hydroxyl and carbonyl groups) of dexamethasone with the protein s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Glucocorticoids (like dexamethasone) have a 17alpha hydroxyl group at their C17 alpha position, so they are able to form a hydrogen bond with Q642 of the GR LBD. In contrast, this hydroxyl group is absent at mineralocorticoids, then, GR LBD cannot bind by hydrogen bond to mineralocorticoids. Furthermore, it was proposed that the leucine (hydrophobic residue) of MR inhibit the hydrogen bond formation between glucocorticoids and the MR. Obviously, the selectivity of GR to glucocorticoids is a result of both the side pocket formation and the ability to form hydrogen bonds with glucocorticoid. [1, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Crime, As A Phenomenon, Tends To Vary In Prevalence By Crime, as a phenomenon, tends to vary in prevalence by location. Some scholars state that a city does not develop randomly, but grows according to basic social processes such as invasion, dominance and accommodation (Robert E. Park, 1925) which then establishes a moral order . social ecosystems behold and develop unique values meaning the sanctity of aspects such as family, environment, materials, and culture in certain geographical spaces may be more susceptible to crime than other spaces. In Australia, the two biggest factors that influence the rate of crime seem to be population density and economic disparity. Although the scene of the nightlife in itself may have some contribution to criminal activity, it is typically the socialisation between large, dense groups of people that encourage potentially dangerous factors like drug and alcohol abuse. However, with non violent crimes, some researchers found that property crime is more prevalent in regions containing smaller cities and towns rather than large cities (André Michel Guerry, 1830). Overall, Guerry end up concluding that associating crime as a direct correlation to population density is rather an oversimplification of crime as a phenomenon, ignoring a variety of factors which regularly (but not all the time) accompany population density. Guerry s conclusion still holds strong relevance in contemporary arguments; especially in Australia. The state governments of New South Wales and Victoria predicate their arguments for more funding from the Australian Grants Commission on the fact that their cities are larger and more densely populated thus producing a more crime producing environment which justifies more funding. However, this justification is opposed by surveys and police data that express WA and SA having experienced higher crime rates than NSW and Victoria, and their cities having at minimum similar rates with the two ... • 7. The Limitations Of Frye s Green World What are the limitations of Frye s Green World model as applied to Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare? Twelfth Night was thought to be written in 1600 1. The play known for adhering to a genre of romantic comedy by utilising pathos combined with humour is listed under comedies in the First Folio of 1623 with another of Shakespeare s works As You Like It. Twelfth Night adheres to Frye s theory to some extent. The old world, one of repression, is conveyed through the puritanical beliefs of Malvolio; the green world is conveyed through the theories of disguise and confusion; and a new world is established through the restoration of order and the marriages in Act 5. However, the continuous adherence to the old world through Malvolio and a lack of clear structure when transgressing the worlds limits the extent of Frye s theory. The flexible structure is perhaps more indicative of Berger s second world theory. My aim is to explore the limitations of the green world within the play Twelfth Night. Music permeates Twelfth Night immediately in Act 1 Scene 2 with Orsino s opening declaration of love If music be the food of love, play on (lines 1 2), through this he is established and characterised as an extravagant lover, indulging in his hyperbolic passion for a woman who does not return his love. His language is full of romantic clichés such as ...was I turn d into a hart (line 21), this metaphor allows Shakespeare to not only intensify the exploration of the genre of ... For the reasons stated in Part II(A), supra, Avpro enters this discovery dispute with a distinct advantage due to its status as a non party. Md. Rule 2 402(b)(2). Moreover, the fact that 50NL s need for the requested discovery is de minimis, the burden and costs imposed on Avpro are exorbitant, all in conjunction with the fact that Avpro is a non party to the underlying litigation, all indicate that this Court should deny 50NL s motion to compel. Granted, the requests purport to limit its scope to communications involving aircraft. Lest we not forget, however, that Avpro is an aircraft broker, and as such, this purported limitation rings hollow. Indeed, perhaps every incoming or outgoing communication sent from or received by Avpro relates to an aircraft in some way or another. Plea Agreement Advantages Plea Agreement Introduction A plea agreement is when the defendant agrees to plead guilty and the prosecutor offers to either reduce the charge to a less serious offense, drops a charge, or recommend a specific sentence to the judge (Williams Wilson, 1981). A plea agreement is more common than a case going to trial, in 2012, 97% of federal cases ended in plea bargains rather that going to trial (Goode, 2012). In the case for Richard, there is no telling what the results would have been if he had a jury trial rather than taking the plea agreement but it can be said that he made the correct decision by taking the plea. Richard undeniably murdered his mother. He was seventeen years old and was old enough to know that murder is wrong. Richard did grow up in a household where he was mentally abused, but does that justify or give him an out for killing his mother? A jury would have seen Richard s case in a few different ways. One way they could have seen the case would be that Richard was an abused child, he did not understand what he was doing, and he does not necessarily deserve to be punished for it. Another way the jury could have seen his case would be that Richard was nearly an adult who murdered his mother, hid the body, and then manipulated people into thinking that he was truly concerned about his mothers whereabouts while the whole time knowing what he did. • 10. Strict Constructionist Dbq When it comes to the understanding of the Constitution, Jeffersonian Republicans are generally characterized as strict constructionists who were opposed to the broad constructionism of the Federalists. This characterization however, fails to take into account the complexities of the domestic and foreign policies supported during the presidencies of Jefferson and Madison, as well as ideas held by the Federalists support the idea that they supported some principles of a strict constitutional interpretation when it suited their cause. Between 1801 and 1817 it is clear to see that both parties to some extent crossed their political lines when it was the best way to achieve their political agendas. On August 13th 1800, before his election Thomas Jefferson wrote to Gideon Granger, a future member of Jefferson s cabinet, about taking down the Federalists, protecting the state s rights, and that the Constitution is the wisest piece of political literature to address the needs of such a varying and diverse nation(Doc. A). Thomas Jefferson was the Third president of the United States, the primary author of the Declaration of independence, and believed that America should grow as an agrarian nation with a limited central government and strong state governments. • 20. The Effects Of ImmigrantsAgquisition Of English As A... Sociologists typically assume that immigrants acquisition of English as a second language follows the opportunities and motivations to become proficient in English, while many linguists argue that second language acquisition may be governed by maturational constraints, possibly biologically based, that are tied to the age at onset of language learning. In this article, I use U.S. census data to investigate the relationship between age at onset of second language learning and levels of English language proficiency among foreign born adults in the United States. The overarching conclusion is that proficiency in a second language among adults is strongly related to age at immigration. Part of that relationship is attributable to social and demo graphic considerations tied to age at entry into a new country, and part may be attributable to maturational constraints.( Age at immigration acquisition of language, English as second language, second language proficiency)* When investigating second language (L2) acquisition among immigrants, sociologists and economists often rely on exposure or human capital frame works, in which L2 learning is prompted by opportunities and motivations to become proficient in English. Much of this research shows that social and demo graphic factors, such as length of residence in the U.S. and educational attainment, strongly predict levels of proficiency in English among foreign born adults. • 40. Capitalism And Feudalism Marx and Engels suggested that the bourgeois revolution destroyed everything that was once held sacred because people had to give up their dreams, passions, and occupations in order to provide for themsel The alienation of labor added insult to injury because workers were forced to sell themselves into slavery. The destruction of the feudalism, and the industrial revolution was what created capitalism. During the 19 century, the industrial revolution had allowed the once impoverished to become obtain wealth through manufacturing and creating jobs, which created new oppressors. The workers that they employed were alienated because they could afford the products they made while working harsh hours in horrible conditions. Which lead Marx to create the Communist Manifesto, which divided people into two classes: the property owners (Bourgeoisie) and the workers (proletariat) . He did this because felt pity for the workers and wanted to go back to simpler times and knew industrial societies were developed enough to have a workers revolution. This had led revolutions because the people he called the proletariat were outraged and wanted a better standard of living. Thus, leading to future revolutions throughout the world. To understand how capitalism started must first know what feudalism was. Feudalism was a medieval hierarchal power structure of King s, Nobles Knights, Peasants , and Serfs etc. The King ruled what was known as divine rights of kings. The king s rule was ... Many would typically answer, George Washington, Ben Franklin, Abraham Lincoln, Thomas Jefferson, and maybe if someone wants variety they could say someone like Marie Curie. All of these answers are superficial and simply the first historical person that someone could think of. In fact, I know I would have answered with George Washington. He was the first one to my mind, but why? Do I really want to have dinner with George Washington? What would I even talk to him about? I imagine the conversation would go something like this, Me: So uhm, I just wanted to thank you for crossing the Delaware River and stuff, that was pretty amazing and really impacted the rest of our country and our freedoms, thank you. George: Yeah happy to, I m glad I did that too. *Proceed to eat lunch quietly because I don t have questions nor really care. I could just read a history book and know the information I would ask from him. So when I was asked, what engineer would I want to have dinner with? it made me really hesitate and actually think for a minute. To then specify further and be asked what women engineer I would want dinner with made me really self reflect. What questions would I want to ask another female engineer? What are my final goals? Sometimes wisdom comes by observing people. If you are observant of people s behavior you ll notice that there are three types of people in this world: the Predators, the Prey and the Perceptive. Let s take a look at the definitions for each of these words Predators are people who plunders or destroys; a, group, that steals from others or destroys others for gain. Prey is someone who is helpless or unable to resist attack; a victim. The Perceptive are people who are quick to understand, showing sharp, keen insight (and the definition I like the best) they know what s what. I pray that you are a perceptive ... • 44. The Cardiovascular System And Its Blood Transporters Essay Introduction: The cardiovascular system and its blood transporters continue to amaze scientists, as wells, as others due to its fascinating functions. The cardiovascular system inhales oxygen and functions to pump blood. It also, transports nutrients throughout the body. This system, then, administers a crucial chemical reaction between the blood and hemoglobin. Hemoglobin is a particular protein responsible for binding to oxygen molecules and transporting those molecules to the body s tissues. Because of hemoglobin s important function, the body is able to properly distribute oxygen molecules, proteins, and hormones throughout the whole body. A spectrophotometer becomes a useful tool in determining the concentration and the identity of an unknown sample. The data gathered from a spectroscope measures absorbance through light waves. A spectrometer measures how much a sample absorbs light as light passes through the sample inside of the device. Also, spectronomy is a quantitative analysis, which absorbs light over a variety of wavelengths. It depicts the movement of electrons. More concentrated solutions will possess a higher absorbance due to the electrons being excited and moving into higher energy levels. The principle of spectrometry can be applied when determining the concentration of an unknown sample as well. From the information gathered, one can create a standard curve in order to discover the range of absorbance and the identity of the unknown sample. A standard ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. Six-Minute Walk Test In clinical practice, functional tests are important tools to assess exercise capacity of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)1. The gGold standard test to identify the cause of exercise intolerance is the maximal cardiopulmonary exercise testing with direct measurements of expired gases1,2. However this test is complex, expensive and requires specialized staff, precluding their use in clinical routine3. As an alternative to maximal cardiopulmonary exercise testing, the six minute walk test (6MWT)4 has been more commonly used, since its cost is low, it is easy to perform and has been used to assess exercise capacity before and after interventions. Currently the 6MWT is well standardized by ERS/ATS4 and is the test most often used test in clinical practice to determine the exercise capacity of chronic lung disease. Moreover, 6MWT is also a ... However, few studies22,23 tested the inter rater reliability for the 6MWT, and they verified only in a population with multiple sclerosis. Therefore, the inter rater reliability of 6MWT is still unknown in patients with COPD, which explains the relevance of our study. • 46.
