My Essays
Writing an essay on the topic "My Essays" may initially seem like a straightforward task, given
the personal nature of the subject. However, the difficulty arises from the paradoxical nature of
self-reflection. While it's a topic that should be inherently familiar, the challenge lies in striking a
balance between self-expression and objectivity.
When delving into the intricacies of one's own essays, there's a constant struggle to avoid
excessive self-promotion or self-deprecation. The risk of veering into an overly subjective
territory is always present, making it challenging to maintain a tone that is both authentic and
analytically sound.
Additionally, the process demands a level of introspection that can be uncomfortable. Unveiling
personal thoughts, experiences, and growth through writing requires a certain vulnerability that
can be mentally taxing. Crafting a narrative that captivates the reader while also revealing
meaningful insights into one's own writing journey is a delicate balancing act.
Furthermore, there's the inherent challenge of avoiding clichГ©s or generic statements when
discussing personal writing experiences. It's crucial to delve beyond surface-level reflections and
provide a nuanced perspective that resonates with the reader. This calls for a deep exploration of
one's motivations, influences, and the evolution of their writing style.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic "My Essays" proves to be a complex task that goes
beyond mere storytelling. It demands a thoughtful examination of one's writing journey,
requiring a delicate balance between subjectivity and objectivity. Despite the inherent challenges,
the process offers an opportunity for profound self-discovery and growth as a writer.

Success of Shouldice hospital can be accounted to its huge customer base who are
extremely satisfied with the service provided by the Shouldice Hospital.
Shouldice method of operation and quick recovery at relatively low cost are its USPs
and thus enjoys overfull demand, with 1200 backlog patients.
Recurrence rate is very low in patients treated at Shouldice Hospital (0.8%) when
compared with other hospitals (10%) which results in patients preferring Shouldice
Hospital.
Employee satisfaction is very high as they are paid more than union scale for
comparable jobs. Through flexible and regular working hours surgeons are able to
maintain work life balance.

Solitude In William Wordsworth
In the words of Thomas Edison, solitude is when, one does their best thinking.
The importance of solitude can further be divulged into by Franz Kafka s words that
writing is the ultimate source of utter solitude, it acts as a welcome reprieve.
Another of William Wordsworth s contemporaries, Lord Byron was of the opinion
that letter writing was the ultimate way of merging good company with solitude.
In Ralph Waldo Emerson s renowned essay Self Reliance he surmises that it is quite
easy to dwell in the world without caring for its opinion but the greatest level of
solitude and tranquility is achieved when a person learns to be carefree in the midst
of a crowd and learn the bliss of eternal solitude.
And in Nature he states that the universe ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His sister Dorothy was sent to reside at Halifax with a relative, and the boys of the
family were sent to study at Hawkshead where they were educated quite well and
cared for (Williams 1993). It is quite possible that this turned out to be Wordsworth s
origin as a solitary person who had no close friends but only nature was his ally and
reprieve. However, due to his solitary and introverted nature, he had the chance to
contemplate deeply and thoroughly and more importantly, learned to appreciate the
pure beauty and grandeur of nature that is, more often than not, taken for granted and
easily ignored by people. The childhood solitude and melancholy thus became the
inspiration behind William Wordsworths numerous famous poems. In literature,
Existentialism (philosophical movement) ponders the question of human existence.
Existence here indicates the ability of a human being to be able to recognize his
potentialities and exercise his freedom and choice in making decision. This
philosophy has quite notably impacted the world literature and the reader could easily

Why Philosophy Is Still Necessary
As I was attempting to brain storm for this assignment, I ran out of ideas so I
decided to read the prompt again and again for inspiration and hopefully some new
ideas. That is when I realized that the prompt itself had the answer that I was looking
for. My answer was sitting there waiting for me in the last sentence of the prompt,
The questionwhether Philosophy is still necessary or not remains an intriguing
question, triggering different position. Philosophy is still necessary in our modern
and scientific world today because Philosophy is the intriguing question that is
triggered by several events in different positions in our daily lives. In our fast
paced world today, people sometimes tend to want answers all the time without
even having to ask questions and unfortunately, technology, media and social
media have made that possible. If we are to agree to define Philosophy as the
questioning of ourselves and our surroundings in order to acquire knowledge, we
would come to realize that without Philosophy we would be living a clueless life.
If it was not for Philosophy and the concept of asking questions, then Isaac Newton
would have walked away from that tree to see a doctor because an apple fell on his
head. However, he started questioning why the apple fell and going after what had
made the apple move in the first place. Now one might argue that if it was not for
science, we will never have the correct answers, thus they give science more value
and cherish it more.
Soviet Family Code and Women
Reproductive rights and daycare became capital in soviet society as more and more
women were entering the workforce and receiving an education. The direct influence
of the early Soviet Rule on women s employment was modest as the foundations for
the professionalization of women had been laid on decades before the October 1917
Revolution. Furthermore, the two World Wars greatly impacted women employment
by opening up new fields for them.
The Industrial Revolution of the end of the nineteenth century marked the first
massive entry of women in the industrial workforce. Indeed, they provided an
inexpensive supply of unskilled labor (Lapidus 1978). Women primarily worked in
the industry, with an emphasis on textile and garments which were respectively
68% and 80% women dominated fields in 1932, (Heitlinger 1979). Women also
represented the majority of education, sciences and scientifical services employees,
representing between 54% and 58% of the labor force between 1929 and 1940 (Sacks
1977). World War Iby draining young able bodied men emptied factories and gave
the opportunity to women to access male dominated fields ( from 26.6 percent of
the workforce in 1914, the proportion of women in the industry as a whole rose to
43.2% by 1917 (Engel 2004)).
The predominance of women in education can be explained by the dramatic increase
of access to education for women between the end of the nineteenth century and
1917. Before the Revolution, education was gender segregated.
Clostridium Difficile Is A Gram Positive, Anaerobic, Spore...
Introduction Clostridium difficile is a gram positive, anaerobic, spore forming
bacillus. In 1935 it was first described as member of the intestinal flora in healthy
neonates [1] , and then in 1978 it was recognised as a cause of diarrhoea [2]. Today
it is widely acknowledged as the leading cause of hospital acquired diarrhoea. This
organism can cause a variety of diseases, from mild diarrhoea to severe
pseudomembranous colitis, and collectively these are known as C. difficile
infections (CDIs) [3]. It is known that the symptoms seen in patients infected with
C. difficile are due to the toxins (toxin A and toxin B) that are produced by the
organism [4]. Some strains of C. difficile seem to have an increased virulence
which can be associated with increased severity, recurrence and increased
mortality. This increased virulence is thought to be a result of increased expression
of toxins A, B [5]. There is also another toxin produced by C. difficile known as
binary toxin, this is also thought to contribute towards increased virulence [6]. A
particular strain of C. difficile that does seem to have increased virulence is the
strain known as PCR ribotype O27 or North American pulsed (NAP) field type 01.
In Europe PCR ribotype O27 is the sixth most common ribotype [7], and new
ribotypes are being detected that appear to have evolved from the O27 lineage [8],
making the need for a method to demonstrate strain relatedness highly important. In a
hospital setting knowing the

the people on the quest are young and inexperienced, but by the end of their
adventure, they ve found their niche, and completed their mission. There is always
a quester, a place to go, a reason to go, challenges and trials en route, and the real
reason to go. Chapter 2: Nice to Eat with You: Acts of Communion When you eat
with someone, this usually implies that you like them, and you want peace. Every
communion does not have to be holy communion like in churches, but it is a bond
and the communion forms a relationship between the groups. When the
communion is between groups of disliking, there is major tension and the act of
eating might not even commence. Chapter 3: Nice to Eat You: Acts of Vampires
To be a vampire, you have to take something from someone else to benefit yourself,
whether that be anything from blood to money. Vampires weren t always what we
see today in Twilight. Vampirism does not always have to do with vampires but
selfishness, exploitation, and refusal to respect. Chapter 4: Now Where Have I

work of literature; books are always based off of works before them. This further
develops into the idea that there is only one story,
Video Games And Its Effects
Video games have some adverse effects, but they are also valuable learning tools.
Research about the role of video games as instruments of higher education is
inadequate. The data is also limited by the lack of long term studies and
inconsistent findings. Anyone that has not participated in the activity of playing
video games may look down on those that do, because it is not seen generally as a
productive use of one s own time. If playing video games were to be compared to
other activities that are more obvious with the meaning such as exercising to stay in
shape, having a job to gain wealth or going to school to gain further education.
However, this way of thinking isn t completely wrong regarding an alternative to

A statement such as this can be used to describe how video games can moreover be
used to relieve stress and/or distance an undesirable situation for a period of time. It
has also been suggested that the home computer has the potential to affect young
children s behavior, but no published data currently exist to support this hypothesis.
Most children additionally have the knowledge that whatever can be watched on
television should also be accessible on the Internet to gain even more information on
any subject desired.
Many studies have examined the impact of video games negative results, such as
aggression and addiction, however, recent studies are addressing this imbalance. An
example of such is how video games are starting to be used for purposes that could
advance other technologies that could lay the foundation of greater future equipment.
An instance of this idea is the uses of video games in the field of health care, which
provide more than enough examples of innovative ways to use existing commercial
games for health improvement or surgical training. Specially made games help
patients be more adherent to treatment regimens and also train doctors how to
manage patients in different clinical situations. A situation that this has been
researched in is the rehabilitation of persons that have been severely injured. In Video

Cut Down The Dog Population By Spaying Or Neutering
Cut Down the Dog Population by Spaying or Neutering Every day in America and
across the world litter on top of litter of unwanted puppies are given birth to by dogs
un expectantly. There is one common solution to this issue that majority of
veterinarians share with pets owners during their pets doctor visits; it is
recommended that all dogowners be responsible by either spaying or neuteringtheir
pets by 6 months old and/or before they enter heat for females or reach maturity for
males, and begin having the desire to want to mate.
The statistics are outrageous when it comes to the number of abandoned and
neglected animals that are homeless or have to live out their lives in shelters all
because owners take it upon themselves not to have their furry friends operated on.
An estimated 11,000 pets in this country are euthanized daily, according to a Pet
Smart Charities study that s half of the 8 million pets that land in shelters each year.
Not all of these pets start out homeless. Half of U.S. pet owners who ve had a
pregnant dog or cat say the pregnancy happened by accident, according to statistics
from the study (NAPS). This is only the number of unwanted animals that are
actually caught; let us not forget about the feral animals on the street.
By spaying or neutering a dog this will absolutely cut down on the number of
animals that are brought to animal control each day. If knowing that a puppy from
the litter that your dog gave birth to will most likely be euthanized
Religion In Public Schools
Religion and Public Schools
Religion in public schools have always been a big debate as to whether or not to
allow religion in schools. There are many factors that go into religion at schools.
Although the practice of religion is not currently allowed in public schools, many
schools have religious clubs and prayer gatherings to go against not being able to
practice religion in schools.
Although public schools are not allowed to practice and focus on teaching one
religion, due to the first amendment Freedom of Religion Students are able to wear
any form of religious clothing, such as t shirts, wrist bands, neckwear, and any other
clothing of religious belief. Schools are also able to sponsor gospel choir that
performs praise songs. Public schools ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are still many rules and things that schools cannot do due to this rule. For
example a school football team cannot say a prayer on the loudspeaker before the
kickoff at a game. Any form of prayer or any teaching that is for one single religion is
also unconstitutional.
The argument over separation and church and public schools has been discussion
for many years. Many people have very strong opinions for or against the separation,
There are also those who have a circumstantial opinion. The separation of church and
state is the highly debatable subtopic of religion and prayer in public schools. While
some believe that prayer in school is beneficial to the growth and learning of children
and their faith, others believe that it could completely ruin their faith (Mclinn).
Public schools have different clubs and organizations that support religion. Most of
these organizations are in support of one religion, where it should be for many
different religions. In a school with many different students, not every student will
have the same religion. There are many different religions that makes it impossible
for every student to be pleased through organizations or even with courses at the
school. Religion is something that should be very personal and private (ACLU Joint
Lady Macbeth Is Responsible for the Fall of Macbeth
Lady Macbeth is responsible for the fall of her husband
It can be said that Lady Macbeth is responsible for the fall of Macbeth. I believe
that she was partly responsible for this. I believe that two sets of people are
responsible for the fall of Macbeth.. Secondly I believe that Lady Macbeth is
responsible for his fall. She urges him to kill Duncan questioning his manly hood
and saying that he was too kind. Finally I believe that the witches played a huge part
in the fall of Macbeth. The witches put the thought of being king into Macbeth s head
in the first place. They also convinced him that he was invincible and this caused his
ultimate death.

two disintegrated and they no longer confided in one another. Macbeth showed his
true colours when he ordered for all the Macduff family to be killed, children and all.
Lady Macbeth had nothing to do with this and therefore cannot be blamed entirely for
Macbeth s fall and ultimate death.
Secondly, I believe that Macbeth was in some ways responsible for his own
downfall. He was ambitious and strived to be the king. Once he became King he
strived to stay King and became very suspicious and paranoid of all people in his
country.
Finally, the witches are partly responsible for Macbeth s downfall. They meet
Macbeth and Banquo on the way home from battle and they meet three witches. The
witches tell Macbeth that he will become Thane of Cawdor and eventually King of

Dbq Populist Movement
The Populist movement was the most distinguished reform movement of the late
nineteenth century, totalling more than one million popular votes during the election
of 1892. The Populist movement was a product of a social movement that was
created in response to the changes in the American economy and society during the
1890s. Despite the fact that they died out that same century, some of their ideas
lived on with the Progressives of the early twentieth century. These two movements
both were based on the people s dissatisfaction with government and its failure to
deal effectively with the problems of the day. While the Progressives went beyond
the original ideas of the Populist by advocating for social reform, they still succeeded

Document 4 represents how citizens felt against the monopolies, small and unable to
fight back. The Populist felt that railroad tycoons were in total control of the
government, and used their grasp to reduce competition and treat their workers
poorly. The Populist responded to the monopolies by passing the Sherman Antitrust
Act. However, the Sherman Antitrust Act failed and instead was used to break up
labor unions and labor strikes such as the one in Document 6. Progressives had a
similar problem with trust and in response, they passed the Clayton Antitrust Act,
which strengthened the Sherman Antitrust Act. The Populist also directed their
attention to bribed legislators, they believed that the cure for the problems of a
democracy was more democracy, thus they campaigned for the directed elections of
Senators; however, they did not achieve this. The Progressives got the direct election

The Importance Of Superstitions In History
Throughout history, many superstitions have grown ranging from not opening an
umbrella inside, to seeing a black cat crosses in front of you. Some of these
traditions we pass on today may seem crazy and we could wonder who came up with
these insane ideas. Although the superstitions may not be completely sound they all
have an explanation in history. One of the most well known superstitions would be
triskaidekaphobia, or a fear of the number 13. This might seem irrational, but it has a
basis in religious history and in many cultures throughout the ancient world. I believe
that this fear may have some basis in fact, however strange, and to prove this we will
look at this superstitions basis in ancient history, its basis in religious history, and how
it plays out in our culture today.
To start, we can look at how it has a basis in ancient history. One of the first items
of proof for these superstitions would be all the way back in Hammurabi s code.
Supposedly in ancient times the number thirteen was unlucky so in his code of laws
the number 13 was omitted. However, if you look at the original text the laws
themselves were not numerically ordered, so likely this was just an error in
translation or an error by the original writer. Another area where this superstition may
have started would be with the order of The Knights Templar. On Friday, October 13,
1307 King Phillip IV ordered the arrest and murder of The Knights Templar. After the
arrest the knights were tortured and
Americans Should Be Considered A Tragic Hero
I believe that in order to be considered a tragic hero there should be an attempt to go
beyond the ordinary person, not necessarily royalty. While Americans may use the
simple individual, I would have difficulty in finding their uniqueness to prove
hero. Nonetheless, I do believe that it may be dependent on your perspective for
the situation. A father who works hard, provides stability, attains a sense of respect
and kindness and does everything he can to support and love his family, yet dies on
his way to his new job that he worked many years for, would be considered a tragic
hero. However, a father who moves from job to job, yells at his family, stays
uninvolved with family activities, though he comes home every day and pays the bills,

Johann Sebastian Bach Impact
Johann Sebastian Bach is primarily known for being an outstanding organist and
virtuosic. He was a German composer in the baroque period. The baroque period is
the time where human emotions start to influence music and is often associated
with being romantic. Bach was regarded in his time as an extremist because he had
great detail in his pieces. In his 65 years of life, he wrote over 1,000 compositions.
Bach s most famous works include Toccata and Fugue in D minor, The Well
Tempered Clavier, and The Cello Suites. It is safe to say that Bach left an imprint
and is still influential to music all over the world. His pieces are still recognizable
and used in numerous movies. Bach influenced 18th and 19th century composers
such as Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, and Mendelssohn. Bach has several monuments
including the one in Leipzig built in 1908 that people still frequently visit. Using
his talent and skills with music, Bach shared his love for music and began to make
a name for himself. Bach was born Eisenach, Germany, on March 31, 1685. He came
from a multi generation family of musicians. Elizabeth Lämmerhirt Bach was his
mother s name and his father, Johann Ambrosius Bach, was a church organist and
taught young Bach how to play the violin. At age ten, after his mother and father
died, Johann moved to Ohrdruf, Germany and received his first lesson on the
keyboard from his brother who played the organ for St. Michaels Church. From there,
Johann got a scholarship for his

The Strange Death of Fyodor Pavlovich Karamazov
http://www.dartmouth.edu/~karamazov/resources/?page_id=440
Fyodor Pavlovich Karamazov is a landowner very known for his strange death.
Fyodor started from nothing and had married a rich, beautiful and intelligent girl
named Adelaida Ivavnova Miusov. The two had a son named Dmitri, but Adelaida
soon had realized the she does not love Fyodor and decided to run away. Some after
time, a news have reached Fyodor that Adelaida had died. Some says that Fyodor
celebrated his freedom others said that he wept like a poor little child. Fyodor left

think that he had a huge amount of inheritance that her mother left to her father. He
entered the military and after that went to his father to claim for his inheritance.
Dmitri was deceived by his father about the inheritance and he had accumulated
anger and wanted to fight for his rights. After getting rid of Dmitri way back then
he married again to Sofia Ivanovna. They had 2 sons namely Ivan and Alexei.
Fyodor mistreated her wife. He held immoral and vicious acts in front of her own

the war in both print and digital media but at the end of the day it s all words.
Hollywood depiction of war is often over glamorized, and doesn t show the real
nitty gritty and the emotional strain that soldiers face. This film was brutally
honest and refreshing because it was shot from the POV of soldiers as they went
about their daily life. The film is candid and doesn t pull its punches it showcases
real footage of soldiers handling automatic weapons, quasi problem solving and
just lying around relaxing. It isn t a thriller that ll keep you on the edge of your
seat nor is meant to be. Its real life and sometimes it can be disturbing, amusing and
violent. The films also address the language and culture barrier that exist that often
time isn t present in literature or Hollywood movies. There are a few subtitles
shown throughout the film , and there isn t any Hollywood makeup artist on
standby to smear dirt on the faces of the troops to give them a more harden look;
this is real and it s unsettling. It forces us to analyze the impact of war on an
individual and the necessity of war and our definition of security threat , if we apply
that definition too haphazardly we risk turning friend into a foe and increasing
underlying animosity but if we loosen our definition it s a sure death. I m going to die

My Cultural Identity
What do you think of when someone asks you what culture is? Some may say the
differences of a nation, social class, color, race and religion. This is Google s version
of culture: the arts and other manifestations of human intellectual achievement

different cultural identityfrom everyone else, there is no such thing as two individuals
having the same cultural identities. Every traitthat you have makes up your cultural
identity. Our parents may have forced us to develop certain traits, for example my
teacher says that I am hardworking due to me always wanting more and more work,

The Crucible By Arthur Miller
Unbalance Through The Centuries
In Arthur Miller s play, The Crucible, the author reflects the persecution of
communists in America in the 1950 s through a recount of the Salem witch trials. It
is often presumed that Miller based his drama directly off of events that were
particularly prevalent in the years surrounding the publication of The Crucible which
was released in the year 1953, towards the conclusion of the Korean War. Although
there was not a literal witch hunt occurring during this time period, America was in a
state of paranoia due to an enemy that was seemingly even more terrifying than
witches: this time, America was looking for communists to burn at the stake. With
heavy influences, such as Senator Joseph McCarthy weighing on him, Miller wrote
about the historic Salem witch trials to create a juxtaposition to the anti communist
delirium that was consuming America in the era in which he lived. By highlighting
the off balance nature of order and personal freedoms within a society, Arthur Miller
was able to communicate a timeless message, that is applicable throughout American
history, and is still relevant in the twenty first century. He emphasizes the necessary
sacrifice every individual is forced to make as a means of maintaining our
community, as well as the implications, both positive and negative, that come along
with doing so. Whether it be in the form of Japanese American citizens being
stripped of their rights after the bombing of Pearl Harbor, the
Wine Review Research Paper
How wine reviews should be: Why reviews are educational but satisfying
It is actually fun to read a lot of articles and blogs about different wine reviews.
Aside from it being educational to most of us who would love to know which wine
tastes better or which wine is bad for some, indeed learning will help you achieve in
becoming one of the best wine teacher and enthusiast.
In reality, many wine enthusiasts did not start liking wine when they were still
childhood nor a teenager. Some actually started to like wine when they got aged
while some luckily able to love them when they were still young in twenties.
Nevertheless that fact that we still experienced the taste and knowledge about wines
still makes us more grateful to know how such wines ... Show more content on

How a good wine should be reviewed
There are also a lot of things to take note about making a great review on wines.
Aside from scoring it which is very popular for most wine connoisseur, many will
be able to know how wines age and to breathing wines; why there are wines that
become better when age while other turn to vinegar; why wines in need to be
decanted and other wine review benefits. Indeed there is a lot better to know more
about wine these days, thanks to these gold reviews.
Why scoring wines should be different
Wine is a known product of human passion and scoring it through its taste alone
write a little description of how wine is to be tasted. A lot of wine bloggers and
writers also become passionate in writing reviews about wine. In order to fully
understand and appreciate wine, many of us should also know who made it and
what meaning it truly entails upon making the said wine. A wine becomes very
meaningful when we know some of its history and elements on how it was mixed
and created, making it more enjoyable to taste and build such experience to taste

While each ordinance had a particular punishment if not followed accordingly, all
the ordinances in place which focused on death, burials, and how to process dead
bodies did not apply to burials of knights, doctors of law, judges, and doctors of

instance, university trained physicians were considered the best choice in terms of
medical practitioners in terms of treating those affected by the plague . There were

Cesar Chavez s Work For Improved Working Conditions
Cesar Chavez is a well renowned labor leader in American history. CГ©sar Estrada

Nt1110 Memory Lab Report
In computer organization and architecture, memory is the most important part of a
computer. Every computer must have its own memory. Memory represents two
stable or semi stable states that are representing 1 and 0. It is capable of being
written to at least once and read multiple times. In this lab, we will learn briefly on
two parts of memory only, which are RAM and ROM. As we know that a memory
can either be non volatile (as seen in a read only memory) or volatile (used in
random access memory).
There are several types of semiconductor memory, such as Random Access Memory
(RAM), Read Only Memory (ROM), Programmable Read Only Memory (PROM),
Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory (EPROM), Electronically Erasable
Programmable Read Only Memory (EEPROM) and Flash Memory. There are many

ROM is a form of semiconductor that can be written to. It was used to store the
programs called firmware that a computer executes when switched on. ROM is still
used in systems with constant functionalities. PROM is similar to ROM but allows
the users to write their own programs and data. However, it needs a special PROM
writing equipment. For EPROM, we can erase the data of the chips and rewrite
with new information. It is normally used to store the boot program of a computer
(firmware), which is known as Basic I/O System (BIOS). EEPROM supports
updates to individual bytes whereas EPROM updates the whole memory. FLASH
memory is a cheaper type of EEPROM where updates can only be carried out on the
blocks of memory but not on individual bytes. It is found in USB sticks, flash cards
and typically range from 1 GB to 32

Leading The Followers Research Paper
Leading the Followers John C. Maxwell once stated that, a leader is one who
knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way. Although leadership can be
discovered in various sectors of life, leadership signifies many different qualities
about a person. Proverbs 11:14 states, where no counsel is, the people fall; but in the
multitude of counselors there is safety. The bibleverse is basically explaining that
where there is not any leadership the people will fail but when there is leadership
the people are safe. A church is a great example where leadership is shown in
tremendous ways. Growing up in the church, I was always implied to that Godwas the
man over us all, the king. A king can be defined as a man who rules a certain group
of individuals. A king hardly ever leaves his castle; therefore God would hardly ever

Organizational Change Is Significant To An Organization
Organizational change is significant to an organization as it can change the success of
an organization, remove specific job practices or functions, alter policies and
procedures, and change the way an organization operates (managementhelp.org).
Organizational change efforts should improve the performance of an organization as
well as the people in the organization (Campbell, 2014).
To begin an organizational change, a change agent should understand the culture of
organization, which reflects in its norms and practices. This can include
understanding the systems and structures in the organization, including their terms
and roles. This also applies to understanding the leadership and management of the
organization (Campbell, 2014). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The steps to unfreezing includes: determining what needs to be changed, ensuring

(mindtools.com) The change stage follows next as it is where members of the
organization begin to resolve their uncertainties and believe in the change and new

This step takes some time as members want to know how the change benefits them. It
is important that organizations understand that time and communication are both
important to the change process (mindtools.com). As communication is encouraged,
it opens the door for employee involvement. The final stage of refreeze takes place

The Importance Of Cathedrals In David Macaulay s
Cathedral
Stories about architecture are stories about people, said David Macaulay, author of
Cathedral (4). The intention of cathedrals was to draw people, and in turn inspire
those who came to pray, learn, and worship (Macaulay, Cathedral 4). Cathedrals
remain inspirational in their enormous scale and overpowering beauty, and that these
places of worship are still standing after many centuries show a level of determination
and integrity in those that built the edifices (Macaulay, Cathedral4). Architect
Vitruvius wrote, All the buildings have two components: The building itself and an
idea that its architecture tried to express (McNamara 6). People build churches
because they believed in something (McNamara 6). In David Macaulay s book,
Built to Last, he says the mindset behind building cathedrals was that of honor and
dedication. Macaulay s research noted that, The new cathedral would be built to the
glory of God, and it mattered little that it might take more than one hundred years to
construct it (Macaulay, Built to Last 98). However, there is more to cathedrals than

Digital Dark Age Essays
Digital Dark Age For thousands of years, we humans have kept records. We have
carved on walls and rocks, carved on tablets and stones, and written on leaves. Many
of these records have survived to this day; as we have used them to read, learn about,
and understand our history and ancestors. The invention of printing made writing
records much easier and faster. Information that changed the world had been printed
on paper, and some of this information too survived till this day. In the 20th century,
we began keeping records and saving information in a different way: technological,
computerized and digital format. This way of keeping information included media
such as pictures or films. Henceforth, different programs have been made and... Show

Some programs made to read digital information no longer run. Nowadays, you
rarely find drives that read 8 floppy disks or floppy disks from 2000. If a program
that reads a certain type of information saving device is no longer available, the
information on that device may disappear forever. Some family information may be
lost, information held sacred by the family members. And not only such information,
but also data from pivotal scientific research, theories and discoveries may be lost too.
Many people believe that a digital dark age has already begun. These observations
about the present times form the basis for this conclusion:
Enormous amounts of digital information are already lost forever. Digital
historycannot be recreated by individuals and organizations cannot recreate a digital
historybecause it was not archived or managed properly or it resides in formats that
cannot beaccessed because the information is on out dated word processor files.
Information technologies are essentially obsolete every 18 months.
There is a proliferation of document and media formats, each one potentially carrying
their own hardware and software dependencies (Kuny).
Before this digital form of a dark age takes over, what must be done to preserve our
digital information and records and keep them from disappearing? Foremost, we need

Greek Investigation Process
Mainstream scientist has ignored the astonishing evidence of fossil records that
provide concrete background to humans existing for millions of years. In 1962, a
team of archeologists led by Cynthia Irwin William discovered ancient tool and
skeleton remains at an archeological site called Hueyatalaco. Virginia Steen
McIntyre and her team of geologist were called to the site to determine how old
these artifacts were. The team of geologists conclude that the artifacts were 250,000
years old. However, the team of archeologist argued that the date would be
impossible due to the fact that humans did not exist within North America 250,000
years ago. Therefore, archeologist refused to publish the geologist s finding. The
power group of geologist repudiated Steen McIntyre s team because of the process of
knowledge filtration .... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, when evidence is found that does not support the traditional views on
human antiquity, it is either ignored or filled with negative, false reports to cover it
up from the public. The team of geologists used four different types of test to
analysis the date of the tools and skeleton. Each test showed the same exact date.
Irwin Williams told the geologist Steen Mcintyre that she needed to claim the
findings were 200,000 years old or less. But, SteenMcIntyre refused to fudge and kept
to her original claim. Virginia Steen McIntyre comments against the mainstream
scientists in her letter to Estella Leopold, an editor of Quaternary Research, Our work
at Hueyatlaco has been rejected by most archaeologists because it contradicts that

McIntyre and her team s testing. The only flaw they find is that she didn t change her
data to match the dominant theory of human
Using The Credit Line Tied Down T Bill Rate
Answer 1.
I plan to use the credit line tied to the 3months T bill rate. In loanable funds market
which borrowers (my firm) demand funds and lenders supply them. The price in this
market is interest rate.
Scenario a The growth rate of GDP in the U.S is expected to increase
Since there is an expectation on the U.S GDP to increase, this means the increasing
labor force in the market that indirectly increases the consumption and investments.
May be the government s spending potential is also increasing. These factors would
create more demands in the loanable funds market. So the demand and supply in the
loanable funds market determines the interest rates. The following exhibit 1a shows
when demand is weak (D1) and the real interest rate low ... Show more content on

Real interest rate = Nominal Interest Rate Inflationary premium
Exhibit 1b illustrates how inflation influences nominal interest rates. We consider a
3% market interest rate as a stable price. Assume the expected rate of inflation is
zero, there will be no inflationary premium; under these conditions the nominal
interest rate is equal to the real interest rate. Now there is an expectation of inflation
goes higher, forecasted 2% inflation, so the real interest rate now becomes to 1%
(based on the real interest rate formula). This case I am better off my firm s future
financing cost if I use the credit line.
Usually it is not going to work that way. When lenders expect inflation, they will be
pushing the interest rate upward by the expected inflation. This case the nominal
interest rate is going to be 5% and the real interest rate would become 3%. Lenders
may not always forecast the future rate of inflation accurately. If the inflation is
higher than was expected then my firm will gain. On the other hand if the inflation
rate is less than anticipated then lenders will gain. Therefore, no reason why the
inflation will help either my firm or lenders.
Answer 2:
Answer 4:
According to the text book the law of demand states that there is an inverse
relationship between the price of a good or service and the quantity of it that
consumers are willing to purchase . That being said, in general the demand curve
will be in a downward slope.

A COMPARATIVE STUDY ABOUT THE REFERENCE SECTION OF THE
THREE UNIVERSITY LIBRARIES IN KOLKATA: STUDY MADE BY
NABANITA MUKHERJEE, LIBRARIAN OF SUKANTANAGAR
VIDYANIKETAN (H.S.).
INTRODUCTION
Background
The reference section of university libraries may be considered as the heart of the
library as it provides ready reference sources and instant reference services to the
users. The reference sections of University Libraries seek to promote a reference
collection development program in concert with the University s curriculum and
users needs. Though most of the university libraries have a very large and useful
reference collection but regular use of those collections is not possible due to lack
of user awareness about the reference collection of the libraries. Therefore the
library professional should orient the reference section in an attractive manner and
should also organize information literacy programme so that the user become able
to make the best use of the collection. In the era of 21st century, Reference service
has shifted its paradigm from asking help of the library professional at the Reference
desk to get on line Reference services like Ask a librarian through mobile phone, e
mail, online chat, sms , RSS feed etc. Therefore it is very much needed to provide
reference service in an excellent way with the help of properly selected printed and
non printed materials as well as modern information and communication technologies.

Lotus F1 Team Essay
Formula one (F1) championship was the second most watched sporting event on the
planet, which estimated 110 million unique viewers per race. Lotus F1 team is one
of the most successful F1 team. It had won respectively 7 constructors world titles.
And it had won two world title. When they were fighting for third place in the
Championship, an awful news that the 2014 season would bring a bunch of
disruptive changes came out. What s worse, its best driver, Kimi Räikkönen, had
announced that he would leave the team at the end of the 2014 season.
This case mentioned many issues, like driver management issue, budget management
issue, and etc. In the following essay, I list two alternative to solve these issues, and
then I also give some criteria to evaluate these alternatives. In the end, I also give my
own way to implement my recommendations.
Problem Statement
Lotus F1 team was a British formula one racing team. It had a strong racing heritage
and had won two World Titles under the Renault name in 2005 and 2006. It had
contracts with two primary drivers and three test drivers. When Lotus F1 was fighting
for third place in the championship, a thunderbolt jumped out and posted a big and
common problem to every F1 team.
Three major problems were presented by this case: driver management issue, budget
management issue and product design issue. F1 drivers primary role was to pilot
the team s car with consistency and win points. A good driver is one of the most

Antecedents Of Environmental Pollution
An environmental pollutant: Smog
Smog is fundamentally gotten from the converging of two words; smoke and
haze. Smog is likewise used to portray the sort of mist which has smoke or sediment
in it. Smog is a yellowish or blackish haze framed principally by a blend of poisons in
the climate which comprises of fine particles and ground level ozone. Smog which
happens principally on account of air contamination, can likewise be characterized as
a blend of different gasses with tidy and water vapor. Smog additionally alludes to
foggy air that makes breathing troublesome.
The environmental contaminations or gasses that shape smog are discharged
noticeable all around when powers are copied. Whenever daylight and its warmth
respond with these gasses and fine particles in the environment, smog is framed. It
is simply caused via air contamination. Ground level ozone and fine particles are
discharged noticeable all around because of complex photochemical responses
between unpredictable natural mixes (VOC), sulfur dioxide (SO2) and nitrogen
oxides (NOx). These VOC, SO2 and NOx are called antecedents. The fundamental
wellsprings of these antecedents are toxins discharged straightforwardly into the air
by gas and diesel run vehicles, modern plants and exercises, and warming because of
human exercises.
Smog is regularly caused by overwhelming movement, high temperatures, daylight
and quiet winds. These are few of the variables behind expanding level of air
contamination in climate. Amid
Mind and Soul
In the reading by Richard Swinburne, he evaluates the mortality of the soul and its
interaction with the human body. His position is best described as attributing the
soul to a light bulb, and the brain to a functioning socket:
If the socket (brain) is damaged or the current turned off, the light (soul) will not
shine. So, too, the soul will function if it is plugged into a functioning brain. Destroy
the brain [...] and the soul will cease to function, remaining inert.
Given his position, Swinburne s idea on the role of the mind and the soul, as well as
the mortality of the soul are what I will be exploring. For Swinburne, the soul is
essentially what our mind is. It is the part of us that analyzes information, thinks on
it, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Now there is the mortality of the soul, given that Swinburne s definition of the soul
is similar to my definition of the mind I will focus on that. I believe the human
mind passes form body to soul upon death. But what happens after that I do not
know. I feel that our minds on this new plane of existence cannot be understood as
they are on this plane. Therefore I cannot comment on the possibility that they are
mortal or immortal. There might be some inherent change in how our minds work
once this transition takes place that may alter its functionality so much that it is
nothing like it used to be, and thereby the original mind may be considered
deceased. Or it may be that we go on transitioning from state to state
forever.Relating the mind to Swinburne s views, he discusses the soul in terms of
the laws of nature. In my opinion, I do not believe the above mentioned relationship
follows the rules of nature as we understand them. We cannot say with certainty what
the rules of nature are when discussing the soul, simply because the concept of it is
such a complex one. Our minds are such complex things that we do not fully
understand. Overall I tend to disagree with Swinburne on his ideas of the mortality
of the soul and the relationship of the soul and body. In my belief, that we cannot
definitively say the mind is mortal or immortal because it exists differently than the
rest of our body. We can examine our hand, cut
The Theme Of Hope In The Road By Cromac Mccarthy
Where there is life, there is hope. In The Road by Cromac McCarthy a reoccurring
theme in the story is hope, whether it is losing or gaining it. Throughout this story
there are numerous instances and events that occur in which all seems lost at a dead
end, but in those moment hope carries through and thrives. In this dystopian post
apocalyptic world the manand boy or fighting to stay alive while keeping their
humanity as well as searching for what humanity is left in this kill or be killed
cannibalistic planet. As their time journeying down the road increases so do the
dangers and obstacles they face to survive. The more they overcome the more hope
thrives in them showing that in even in the most catastrophic events having hope
helps them get closer to finding the light at the end of the tunnel and not being
consumed by the darkness.
In this new world it is no longer a matter of just surviving, but keeping your
humanity while surviving. While it is easier to resort to evil and be the bad guy,
the father and son fight to keep what humanity they have left to be the good guys,
which in this post apocalyptic world almost costs them their lives at times. On a
constant search for food they almost end up starving and lose a lot of weight, but
luckily come upon dried apples and in another case a bomb shelter full of necessities.
The bad guys however, have completely gone mad and use cannibalism as an
alternative turning this new world into a kill or be killed world. They

Criticism Of White Collar Crime
White Collar Crime:
White collar crimes often consist of financial, non violent criminal acts committed by
someone who uses their social status or position within their occupation for financial
gain. These crimes are usually done by professionals such as bankers, lawyers, office
workers, business managers, executives and/or accountants. These professionals
committing these white collar crimes want to attain financial income and ensure they
get away with it. Often, they target people who are gullible, with low or no
education, elderly or simply take advantage of someone s trust. The offender usually
starts small then makes it a habit due to the oversight of the crime being committed.
Although these crimes tend to not be nonviolent they violate the person s involved
trust which can cause psychological damages to the victim.
Criticism:
The term white collar crime is used as a non legal term which usually refers to a
type of crime act but it doesn t necessary specify the actual name of the crime being
committed. This term is usually used in a very broad aspect, when in reality it can
range from many different criminal activities. It fails to make the distinction in the
crime and grouping it all into one category and often is sentenced as such. Another
criticism, is that it usually does not specify the offender s socioeconomic class, it is
often assumed that the person committing the white collar crime is of upper social
class. The issue here for me is that, people who are not

My Essays. Proper Essay Format : Navigation menu

  • 1. My Essays Writing an essay on the topic "My Essays" may initially seem like a straightforward task, given the personal nature of the subject. However, the difficulty arises from the paradoxical nature of self-reflection. While it's a topic that should be inherently familiar, the challenge lies in striking a balance between self-expression and objectivity. When delving into the intricacies of one's own essays, there's a constant struggle to avoid excessive self-promotion or self-deprecation. The risk of veering into an overly subjective territory is always present, making it challenging to maintain a tone that is both authentic and analytically sound. Additionally, the process demands a level of introspection that can be uncomfortable. Unveiling personal thoughts, experiences, and growth through writing requires a certain vulnerability that can be mentally taxing. Crafting a narrative that captivates the reader while also revealing meaningful insights into one's own writing journey is a delicate balancing act. Furthermore, there's the inherent challenge of avoiding clichГ©s or generic statements when discussing personal writing experiences. It's crucial to delve beyond surface-level reflections and provide a nuanced perspective that resonates with the reader. This calls for a deep exploration of one's motivations, influences, and the evolution of their writing style. In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic "My Essays" proves to be a complex task that goes beyond mere storytelling. It demands a thoughtful examination of one's writing journey, requiring a delicate balance between subjectivity and objectivity. Despite the inherent challenges, the process offers an opportunity for profound self-discovery and growth as a writer. • 3. Solitude In William Wordsworth In the words of Thomas Edison, solitude is when, one does their best thinking. The importance of solitude can further be divulged into by Franz Kafka s words that writing is the ultimate source of utter solitude, it acts as a welcome reprieve. Another of William Wordsworth s contemporaries, Lord Byron was of the opinion that letter writing was the ultimate way of merging good company with solitude. In Ralph Waldo Emerson s renowned essay Self Reliance he surmises that it is quite easy to dwell in the world without caring for its opinion but the greatest level of solitude and tranquility is achieved when a person learns to be carefree in the midst of a crowd and learn the bliss of eternal solitude. And in Nature he states that the universe ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... His sister Dorothy was sent to reside at Halifax with a relative, and the boys of the family were sent to study at Hawkshead where they were educated quite well and cared for (Williams 1993). It is quite possible that this turned out to be Wordsworth s origin as a solitary person who had no close friends but only nature was his ally and reprieve. However, due to his solitary and introverted nature, he had the chance to contemplate deeply and thoroughly and more importantly, learned to appreciate the pure beauty and grandeur of nature that is, more often than not, taken for granted and easily ignored by people. The childhood solitude and melancholy thus became the inspiration behind William Wordsworths numerous famous poems. In literature, Existentialism (philosophical movement) ponders the question of human existence. Existence here indicates the ability of a human being to be able to recognize his potentialities and exercise his freedom and choice in making decision. This philosophy has quite notably impacted the world literature and the reader could easily detect
  • 4. Why Philosophy Is Still Necessary As I was attempting to brain storm for this assignment, I ran out of ideas so I decided to read the prompt again and again for inspiration and hopefully some new ideas. That is when I realized that the prompt itself had the answer that I was looking for. My answer was sitting there waiting for me in the last sentence of the prompt, The questionwhether Philosophy is still necessary or not remains an intriguing question, triggering different position. Philosophy is still necessary in our modern and scientific world today because Philosophy is the intriguing question that is triggered by several events in different positions in our daily lives. In our fast paced world today, people sometimes tend to want answers all the time without even having to ask questions and unfortunately, technology, media and social media have made that possible. If we are to agree to define Philosophy as the questioning of ourselves and our surroundings in order to acquire knowledge, we would come to realize that without Philosophy we would be living a clueless life. If it was not for Philosophy and the concept of asking questions, then Isaac Newton would have walked away from that tree to see a doctor because an apple fell on his head. However, he started questioning why the apple fell and going after what had made the apple move in the first place. Now one might argue that if it was not for science, we will never have the correct answers, thus they give science more value and cherish it more.
  • 5. Soviet Family Code and Women Reproductive rights and daycare became capital in soviet society as more and more women were entering the workforce and receiving an education. The direct influence of the early Soviet Rule on women s employment was modest as the foundations for the professionalization of women had been laid on decades before the October 1917 Revolution. Furthermore, the two World Wars greatly impacted women employment by opening up new fields for them. The Industrial Revolution of the end of the nineteenth century marked the first massive entry of women in the industrial workforce. Indeed, they provided an inexpensive supply of unskilled labor (Lapidus 1978). Women primarily worked in the industry, with an emphasis on textile and garments which were respectively 68% and 80% women dominated fields in 1932, (Heitlinger 1979). Women also represented the majority of education, sciences and scientifical services employees, representing between 54% and 58% of the labor force between 1929 and 1940 (Sacks 1977). World War Iby draining young able bodied men emptied factories and gave the opportunity to women to access male dominated fields ( from 26.6 percent of the workforce in 1914, the proportion of women in the industry as a whole rose to 43.2% by 1917 (Engel 2004)). The predominance of women in education can be explained by the dramatic increase of access to education for women between the end of the nineteenth century and 1917. Before the Revolution, education was gender segregated.
  • 6. Clostridium Difficile Is A Gram Positive, Anaerobic, Spore... Introduction Clostridium difficile is a gram positive, anaerobic, spore forming bacillus. In 1935 it was first described as member of the intestinal flora in healthy neonates [1] , and then in 1978 it was recognised as a cause of diarrhoea [2]. Today it is widely acknowledged as the leading cause of hospital acquired diarrhoea. This organism can cause a variety of diseases, from mild diarrhoea to severe pseudomembranous colitis, and collectively these are known as C. difficile infections (CDIs) [3]. It is known that the symptoms seen in patients infected with C. difficile are due to the toxins (toxin A and toxin B) that are produced by the organism [4]. Some strains of C. difficile seem to have an increased virulence which can be associated with increased severity, recurrence and increased mortality. This increased virulence is thought to be a result of increased expression of toxins A, B [5]. There is also another toxin produced by C. difficile known as binary toxin, this is also thought to contribute towards increased virulence [6]. A particular strain of C. difficile that does seem to have increased virulence is the strain known as PCR ribotype O27 or North American pulsed (NAP) field type 01. In Europe PCR ribotype O27 is the sixth most common ribotype [7], and new ribotypes are being detected that appear to have evolved from the O27 lineage [8], making the need for a method to demonstrate strain relatedness highly important. In a hospital setting knowing the
  • 7. Notes On Reading Literature Like A Professor Log Lucy Cao Dr. Roth AP Lit 23 Aug 2015 How to Read Literature Like a Professor Log Chapter 1: Every Trip is a Quest (Except When It s Not) From this chapter, In learned that the truth behind all quests is to find self knowledge. Most of the time, the people on the quest are young and inexperienced, but by the end of their adventure, they ve found their niche, and completed their mission. There is always a quester, a place to go, a reason to go, challenges and trials en route, and the real reason to go. Chapter 2: Nice to Eat with You: Acts of Communion When you eat with someone, this usually implies that you like them, and you want peace. Every communion does not have to be holy communion like in churches, but it is a bond and the communion forms a relationship between the groups. When the communion is between groups of disliking, there is major tension and the act of eating might not even commence. Chapter 3: Nice to Eat You: Acts of Vampires To be a vampire, you have to take something from someone else to benefit yourself, whether that be anything from blood to money. Vampires weren t always what we see today in Twilight. Vampirism does not always have to do with vampires but selfishness, exploitation, and refusal to respect. Chapter 4: Now Where Have I Seen Her Before? This chapter states that there is no such thing as a truly original work of literature; books are always based off of works before them. This further develops into the idea that there is only one story,
  • 8. Video Games And Its Effects Video games have some adverse effects, but they are also valuable learning tools. Research about the role of video games as instruments of higher education is inadequate. The data is also limited by the lack of long term studies and inconsistent findings. Anyone that has not participated in the activity of playing video games may look down on those that do, because it is not seen generally as a productive use of one s own time. If playing video games were to be compared to other activities that are more obvious with the meaning such as exercising to stay in shape, having a job to gain wealth or going to school to gain further education. However, this way of thinking isn t completely wrong regarding an alternative to what video games... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A statement such as this can be used to describe how video games can moreover be used to relieve stress and/or distance an undesirable situation for a period of time. It has also been suggested that the home computer has the potential to affect young children s behavior, but no published data currently exist to support this hypothesis. Most children additionally have the knowledge that whatever can be watched on television should also be accessible on the Internet to gain even more information on any subject desired. Many studies have examined the impact of video games negative results, such as aggression and addiction, however, recent studies are addressing this imbalance. An example of such is how video games are starting to be used for purposes that could advance other technologies that could lay the foundation of greater future equipment. An instance of this idea is the uses of video games in the field of health care, which provide more than enough examples of innovative ways to use existing commercial games for health improvement or surgical training. Specially made games help patients be more adherent to treatment regimens and also train doctors how to manage patients in different clinical situations. A situation that this has been researched in is the rehabilitation of persons that have been severely injured. • 9. Cut Down The Dog Population By Spaying Or Neutering Cut Down the Dog Population by Spaying or Neutering Every day in America and across the world litter on top of litter of unwanted puppies are given birth to by dogs un expectantly. There is one common solution to this issue that majority of veterinarians share with pets owners during their pets doctor visits; it is recommended that all dogowners be responsible by either spaying or neuteringtheir pets by 6 months old and/or before they enter heat for females or reach maturity for males, and begin having the desire to want to mate. The statistics are outrageous when it comes to the number of abandoned and neglected animals that are homeless or have to live out their lives in shelters all because owners take it upon themselves not to have their furry friends operated on. An estimated 11,000 pets in this country are euthanized daily, according to a Pet Smart Charities study that s half of the 8 million pets that land in shelters each year. Not all of these pets start out homeless. Half of U.S. pet owners who ve had a pregnant dog or cat say the pregnancy happened by accident, according to statistics from the study (NAPS). This is only the number of unwanted animals that are actually caught; let us not forget about the feral animals on the street. By spaying or neutering a dog this will absolutely cut down on the number of animals that are brought to animal control each day. If knowing that a puppy from the litter that your dog gave birth to will most likely be euthanized
  • 10. Religion In Public Schools Religion and Public Schools Religion in public schools have always been a big debate as to whether or not to allow religion in schools. There are still many rules and things that schools cannot do due to this rule. For example a school football team cannot say a prayer on the loudspeaker before the kickoff at a game. Any form of prayer or any teaching that is for one single religion is also unconstitutional. The argument over separation and church and public schools has been discussion for many years. Many people have very strong opinions for or against the separation, There are also those who have a circumstantial opinion. The separation of church and state is the highly debatable subtopic of religion and prayer in public schools. While some believe that prayer in school is beneficial to the growth and learning of children and their faith, others believe that it could completely ruin their faith (Mclinn). Public schools have different clubs and organizations that support religion. Most of these organizations are in support of one religion, where it should be for many different religions. In a school with many different students, not every student will have the same religion. There are many different religions that makes it impossible for every student to be pleased through organizations or even with courses at the school. Religion is something that should be very personal and private (ACLU Joint

I believe that she was partly responsible for this. I believe that two sets of people are responsible for the fall of Macbeth.. Secondly I believe that Lady Macbeth is responsible for his fall. She urges him to kill Duncan questioning his manly hood and saying that he was too kind. Finally I believe that the witches played a huge part in the fall of Macbeth. Macbeth showed his true colours when he ordered for all the Macduff family to be killed, children and all. Dbq Populist Movement The Populist movement was the most distinguished reform movement of the late nineteenth century, totalling more than one million popular votes during the election of 1892. The Populist movement was a product of a social movement that was created in response to the changes in the American economy and society during the 1890s. Despite the fact that they died out that same century, some of their ideas lived on with the Progressives of the early twentieth century. These two movements both were based on the people s dissatisfaction with government and its failure to deal effectively with the problems of the day. While the Progressives went beyond the original ideas of the Populist by advocating for social reform, they still succeeded in achieving gains for economic, industrial, and... However, the Sherman Antitrust Act failed and instead was used to break up labor unions and labor strikes such as the one in Document 6. Progressives had a similar problem with trust and in response, they passed the Clayton Antitrust Act, which strengthened the Sherman Antitrust Act. • 14. The Importance Of Superstitions In History Throughout history, many superstitions have grown ranging from not opening an umbrella inside, to seeing a black cat crosses in front of you. Some of these traditions we pass on today may seem crazy and we could wonder who came up with these insane ideas. Although the superstitions may not be completely sound they all have an explanation in history. One of the most well known superstitions would be triskaidekaphobia, or a fear of the number 13. This might seem irrational, but it has a basis in religious history and in many cultures throughout the ancient world. I believe that this fear may have some basis in fact, however strange, and to prove this we will look at this superstitions basis in ancient history, its basis in religious history, and how it plays out in our culture today. To start, we can look at how it has a basis in ancient history. One of the first items of proof for these superstitions would be all the way back in Hammurabi s code. Supposedly in ancient times the number thirteen was unlucky so in his code of laws the number 13 was omitted. However, if you look at the original text the laws themselves were not numerically ordered, so likely this was just an error in translation or an error by the original writer. Another area where this superstition may have started would be with the order of The Knights Templar. On Friday, October 13, 1307 King Phillip IV ordered the arrest and murder of The Knights Templar. After the arrest the knights were tortured and

While Americans may use the simple individual, I would have difficulty in finding their uniqueness to prove hero. A father who works hard, provides stability, attains a sense of respect and kindness and does everything he can to support and love his family, yet dies on his way to his new job that he worked many years for, would be considered a tragic hero. However, a father who moves from job to job, yells at his family, stays uninvolved with family activities, though he comes home every day and pays the bills,

Restrepo Analysis Holy shit we re not ready for this Aaron HijarTim Hetherington and Sebastian Junger 2010 award winning documentary film Restrepo: One Platoon, One Valley, One Year, chronicle one year of the Second Platoon, Battle Company branch of the United States Army ; during their station at the Korangal Valley and the impact it had on them. The filmopens with a bunch of joyful soldiers a week before deployment and attitudes within the plane are ecstatic and full of youthful naivety and optimism but as the film progresses and as we are introduced to the Korangal Valley, those bright smiles are soon replaced with frowns. This is the effects of war, the one that is not often talked about nor acknowledge. Nobody going to help you, you re in no man land JonesThe films itself was difficult to watch, because you read so much about the war in both print and digital media but at the end of the day it s all words. Hollywood depiction of war is often over glamorized, and doesn t show the real nitty gritty and the emotional strain that soldiers face. This film was brutally honest and refreshing because it was shot from the POV of soldiers as they went about their daily life. The film is candid and doesn t pull its punches it showcases real footage of soldiers handling automatic weapons, quasi problem solving and just lying around relaxing. It isn t a thriller that ll keep you on the edge of your seat nor is meant to be. Its real life and sometimes it can be disturbing, amusing and violent. The films also address the language and culture barrier that exist that often time isn t present in literature or Hollywood movies. There are a few subtitles shown throughout the film , and there isn t any Hollywood makeup artist on standby to smear dirt on the faces of the troops to give them a more harden look; this is real and it s unsettling. It forces us to analyze the impact of war on an individual and the necessity of war and our definition of security threat , if we apply that definition too haphazardly we risk turning friend into a foe and increasing underlying animosity but if we loosen our definition it s a sure death. I m going to die here CortezThe most poignant scene in the documentary was Operation Rock Avalanche which

  • 24. The Crucible By Arthur Miller Unbalance Through The Centuries In Arthur Miller s play, The Crucible, the author reflects the persecution of communists in America in the 1950 s through a recount of the Salem witch trials. It is often presumed that Miller based his drama directly off of events that were particularly prevalent in the years surrounding the publication of The Crucible which was released in the year 1953, towards the conclusion of the Korean War. Although there was not a literal witch hunt occurring during this time period, America was in a state of paranoia due to an enemy that was seemingly even more terrifying than witches: this time, America was looking for communists to burn at the stake. With heavy influences, such as Senator Joseph McCarthy weighing on him, Miller wrote about the historic Salem witch trials to create a juxtaposition to the anti communist delirium that was consuming America in the era in which he lived. By highlighting the off balance nature of order and personal freedoms within a society, Arthur Miller was able to communicate a timeless message, that is applicable throughout American history, and is still relevant in the twenty first century. He emphasizes the necessary sacrifice every individual is forced to make as a means of maintaining our community, as well as the implications, both positive and negative, that come along with doing so. Whether it be in the form of Japanese American citizens being stripped of their rights after the bombing of Pearl Harbor, the

  • 40. The Importance Of Cathedrals In David Macaulay s Cathedral Stories about architecture are stories about people, said David Macaulay, author of Cathedral (4). The intention of cathedrals was to draw people, and in turn inspire those who came to pray, learn, and worship (Macaulay, Cathedral 4). Cathedrals remain inspirational in their enormous scale and overpowering beauty, and that these places of worship are still standing after many centuries show a level of determination and integrity in those that built the edifices (Macaulay, Cathedral4). Architect Vitruvius wrote, All the buildings have two components: The building itself and an idea that its architecture tried to express (McNamara 6). People build churches because they believed in something (McNamara 6). In David Macaulay s book, Built to Last, he says the mindset behind building cathedrals was that of honor and dedication. Macaulay s research noted that, The new cathedral would be built to the glory of God, and it mattered little that it might take more than one hundred years to construct it (Macaulay, Built to Last 98). However, there is more to cathedrals than just building something grand and beautiful to honor God. In loanable funds market which borrowers (my firm) demand funds and lenders supply them. The price in this market is interest rate. Scenario a The growth rate of GDP in the U.S is expected to increase Since there is an expectation on the U.S GDP to increase, this means the increasing labor force in the market that indirectly increases the consumption and investments. May be the government s spending potential is also increasing. These factors would create more demands in the loanable funds market. So the demand and supply in the loanable funds market determines the interest rates. The following exhibit 1a shows when demand is weak (D1) and the real interest rate low ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Real interest rate = Nominal Interest Rate Inflationary premium Exhibit 1b illustrates how inflation influences nominal interest rates. We consider a 3% market interest rate as a stable price. Assume the expected rate of inflation is zero, there will be no inflationary premium; under these conditions the nominal interest rate is equal to the real interest rate. Now there is an expectation of inflation goes higher, forecasted 2% inflation, so the real interest rate now becomes to 1% (based on the real interest rate formula). This case I am better off my firm s future financing cost if I use the credit line. Usually it is not going to work that way. When lenders expect inflation, they will be pushing the interest rate upward by the expected inflation. This case the nominal interest rate is going to be 5% and the real interest rate would become 3%. Lenders may not always forecast the future rate of inflation accurately. If the inflation is higher than was expected then my firm will gain. On the other hand if the inflation rate is less than anticipated then lenders will gain. Therefore, no reason why the inflation will help either my firm or lenders. Answer 2: Answer 4: According to the text book the law of demand states that there is an inverse relationship between the price of a good or service and the quantity of it that consumers are willing to purchase . That being said, in general the demand curve will be in a downward slope.

So, too, the soul will function if it is plugged into a functioning brain. Destroy the brain [...] and the soul will cease to function, remaining inert. I feel that our minds on this new plane of existence cannot be understood as they are on this plane. Therefore I cannot comment on the possibility that they are mortal or immortal. There might be some inherent change in how our minds work once this transition takes place that may alter its functionality so much that it is nothing like it used to be, and thereby the original mind may be considered deceased. Or it may be that we go on transitioning from state to state forever.Relating the mind to Swinburne s views, he discusses the soul in terms of the laws of nature. In my opinion, I do not believe the above mentioned relationship follows the rules of nature as we understand them. We cannot say with certainty what the rules of nature are when discussing the soul, simply because the concept of it is such a complex one. Our minds are such complex things that we do not fully understand. Overall I tend to disagree with Swinburne on his ideas of the mortality of the soul and the relationship of the soul and body. In my belief, that we cannot definitively say the mind is mortal or immortal because it exists differently than the rest of our body. We can examine our hand, cut
