Female Marginality In The Catholic Church
As the society continues to strive for gender equality within the work force, there is neglect in one
specific component of culture: religion. Female marginality is very much prominent in the Catholic
Church. As women around the world strive to create a greater voice in corporation, there should also
be goals toward a greater feminine voice in Catholicism. Understanding female role in Catholicism
and analyzing prominent females in Catholicism enables women of the future to develop a greater
influence in the church. Women should seek for female advocacy in the Catholic Church by
examining female roles in Catholicism, exceptional women in Catholicism, and traditions of
Catholicism.
Understanding the definition of female marginality is important before being able to apply it to the
Catholic Church. Female marginality is defined as females who hold limited options or opinions on
any matter. Traditionally, women were defined as the caretaker of the household and children, limiting
women to domesticated duties while men held superiority in the work force. In the past, men
supported their families in terms of wealth while female roles were placed in occupations with

Marrying a wealthy man would have been the simplest way to relieve her family from such an
impoverish state. But in the process of doing so she would have loss her dignity as an independent
woman. In the past, a woman s appearance determined her role in society. If society considered a
woman attractive, just as Rosa was, she would be eligible for marrying into a wealthy family. Not only
did she reject the life as a wealthy housewife, she refused to enter the convent as a way to maintain her
virginity. Opting for chastity outside of the convent proves Rosa possessed the ability to remain chaste

Missing Child Experiment
We are going to examine an experiment about a missing child. There will be a group of twenty college
students that we examine leading up to the missing child to experiment. In the experiment tested, we
will see that people fail to notice the world around them. This was seen in the Missing Child
experiment. The child was in eyesight, but the people did not even think to look. These candidates did
not take time to even look at the flyer they were shown. The person, not noticing a missing person
right next to the flyer placed in front of a store can be caused by several factors, distractions, or even
possible fears. All over the world, people are doing this Missing Child Experiment, and it is
astonishing what some of the factors were. One of the causes mentioned on this experiment was that ...

It teaches the world, that we should not miss the little things like a sign on a door. Making time to stop
and breathe to read a flyer because that could be the next step to making a miracle happen. A question
that comes up is has the world become so lazy that they on purpose do not want to read the life that is
in front of them? Joe Navarro states this about one of the fellow people that he had talked to almost
twenty years ago, Gavin de Becker wrote The Gift of Fear (link is external), in an effort to warn and
educate us about being more observant and aware. He encouraged us to look around and to listen to
that that inner voice, which is really our limbic brain telling us to be careful that something is wrong
(Navarro). Unfortunately, that is so true. If there is a prompting that comes up inside of us as a human
being, what do we do about it? Most people overlook it because they are not aware of that inner voice.
The inner voice can be the form of life sign that could save one of those millions of missing children

A Comparison of Haydn s Symphony No 95 With Beethoven s...
A Comparison of Haydn s Symphony No. 95 with Beethoven s Symphony No. 5
Introduction As noted by Robert Hughes, Beethoven was not only the embodiment of all that was
before him, but also of that which was yet to come (Hughes 486). The truth of this may be seen by
comparing Beethoven s 5th Symphony in C Minor to Haydn, the father of Symphony, and his 95th in
C Minor. While Haydn s symphony is both playful and dramatic, Beethoven s symphony is grander
both in terms of scale and vision. He expands the size of the orchestra to incorporate the sounds
swirling around, underlying, and depicting the arrival of Fate in a rhythm driven, thematic symphony
that takes Haydn s form and runs with it as though to the top of a mountain peak. This paper will
analyze the symphonies by movement, according to form, size, structure, tonalities, melodies,
orchestral sound and overall mood and effect.
1st Movement Both Haydn s and Beethoven s first movements are composed in sonata form, with an
exposition stated in the opening that is then developed and recapitulated. The size of Haydn s opening
movement is somewhat smaller than Beethoven s, whose opening exposition itself seems larger than
life. Haydn s first movement is roughly six minutes long, and the length of Beethoven s first
movement only exceeds Haydn s by about a minute and a half to two minutes. Beethoven does not
introduce too many structural changes to the traditional sonata form, which he learned from Haydn, in
the first

Childhood Observation Log
ADD for their behavior issues. The lack of information on children s health can be harmful this is why
that weekly observation of the developmental domains are important. It would improve children s
development and guide(NationalResearch Council,2004)
My recommendation would be to have all states earlychildhood facilities on board with using the
developmental domain observation logs. They would use those logs on every child in order to monitor
the growth and development on each child. This would build on the following principles:
1. The rate and course of developmental are fundamental to children s health(National Research
council;2004)
2. A broad range of behavioral, and environmental factors affect children s health(National Research

having a time for talking to the teaching, talking with other students, and studying may improve
higher test scores. Taking time to understand the lesson and thoroughly study will make the learning
pace improve. Having a mandatory study hall may improve test scores and higher students abilities.
Student s grade average could improve with a mandatory study hall. Studies show that 71% of
students strongly agreed that a study hall improved their performance. The purpose is to help support

Theme Of Literature In English Literature
Literature is the art of expression of the imaginative and emotional sensitivity of human beings. It
employs language as a medium of expression. Novel is considered to be a powerful literary expression

Chapter Seven Cosmic Geography
Cosmic geography concerns how people envision the shape and structure of the world around them.
Walton makes it known of our current understanding of the cosmos, and how it puts us at a relatively
insignificance in the vastness This allow us to understand the weather and times. Walton gives a
breakdown of the different matter that make up the cosmic, and how it works . It is physical and
material and works by the physical properties and the laws of motion. We learn that It has taken many
centuries to understand this through science. At the same time, however in the ancient world they hadn
t developed the understanding we have today of our world around us. Walton views of the ancient
world seem to be that, they worked off of what they saw and by chance form an opinion of how things
worked. We learn that without a God to lead them it gave them a scent of loss and it left their
surroundings in the hands of the gods. Walton tell of the heavens and that this is where the gods lived,
he goes on to say that it is many levels of heavens exist based on the hierarchical position within the
pantheon. The sky is what separated the earth and the heavens. He tell the works of the mountains, and
how they helped hold the sky up. In this chapter we get a lesson on the working of the cosmic. The
water from above was protected with the sky, so when the sky opened up, it flooded. In his book the

Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia
Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is an enlarged prostate. The prostate goes through two main
growth periods. The first occurs early in puberty and the second begins around the age of 25 and
continues during most of the man s life ( Urology care foundation What is benign prostatic
hyperplasia (bph)?, 2016). BPH normally occurs during the second growth phase. As the prostate
enlarges it squeezes down on the urethra. The bladder wall becomes thicker and eventually weakens
losing the ability to empty completely. This causes urine to be left in the bladder. The narrowing of the
urethra and urinary retention cause many of the problems associated with BPH. It is common in men
and almost half of the men 51 to 60 have it while almost ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since BPH cannot be cured treatment is focused on reducing symptoms. Deciding how to treat BPH
depends on how bothersome the symptoms are. The American Urological Association symptom index
is an interactive questionnaire that can help to identify how bad the patient s symptoms are and guide
treatment. Symptoms that are mild or do not bother the patient may benefit from just watching them.
Treatment of moderate to severe symptoms depends on how bothersome they are to the patient. For
those who feel their symptoms are bothersome, surgery maybe an option or less invasive therapies
such as transurethral microwave therapy or transurethral needle ablation. Complications of BPH such
as inability to urinate, urinary tract infection, bladder stones, kidney damage, or ongoing blood in the
urine should be treated with surgery. Alpha blockers relax the muscles of the prostate and bladder
improving urine flow and can be used in men with moderate to severe BPH. Men with very large
prostate glands may benefit from 5 alpha reducatase inhibitors which block the production of
dihydrotestosterone. Combination therapy maybe used for patients with overactive

The Building Blocks Of Any Weight Loss Supplement Essay
Nucific BIO X4 Ingredients
Ingredients are the building blocks of any weight loss supplement. When people are judging a product,
they determine whether it has accurate ingredients for fat loss. As well, they research those ingredients
to know if they have any benefits to their bodies. The same is the case with BIO X4 potential users.
They want to know which ingredients it has and how they fulfill the work that this probiotic was
designed for. As aforementioned, this magical product has four nutrients that make it work the way it
does. These are explained as shown below.
Caralluma Fibmbriata According to various studies, Caralluma Fimbriata is a very safe extract to take.
It is very potent as well, and the main work it does in this probiotic is to suppress your appetite.
Furthermore, research has found that caralluma fimbriata could reduce your waist circumference.
Digestive enzymes These are small protein molecules that disintegrate the foods we eat and unblock
nutrients so that our bodies can absorb them. As people age, their ability to produce digestive enzymes
decrease, and this is where BIO X4 comes in. Boasting up to three main digestive enzymes, this
supplement is just what you need to get value from the food you eat. One of these enzymes is called
amylase, and its work is to metabolize your sugars. Lipase is for metabolizing fats while bromelain is
for breaking down protein and relieving intestinal irritation.

Essay on Two Perspectives of Viewing the World around Us
There are always two sides to a story, or two ways to look at something. It all depends on the way that
you look at things. When reviewing the works of St.Bonaventure, through Step one in the Ascent to
God and the Consideration of Him through His Footsteps in the Universe, and from Step two, we learn
of to opposing opinions that St. Bonaventure had about different perspectives of the world around us,
for different purposes, and with different results. By reading these two pieces I am able to understand
them, and how their opposing perspectives differ. I also chose Harmony with Nature by Matthew

us with goodness in the beginning, and how he believes it to (St. Bonaventure 56). In a brief summary
of St. Bonaventure s first step, St. Bonaventure is basically saying that God originally created the
world in six days with a pure greatness in mind. In this Step, and through the studies of scripture, St.

Step one, St. Bonaventure is looking at the world around us through a scientific point of view, or a

our five senses. He even uses the terminology of information passing from the external organ (ear), to
the internal organ (brain), then to the apprehensive faculty, as a way to describe the idea of how we
take in information and process it (St. Bonaventure 113). St. Bonaventure is looking at everything
around us, and realizing at one time God had his hand in this. Through a scientific approach and using

The Asian American Population On The Health Disparity...
In 2014, the Asian American population accounted for nearly 5.4% of the total United States (U.S)
population and is projected to increase to 9.3% by the year 2060.1 Currently, the cities with the largest
populations of Asian Americans include the major metropolitan and surrounding areas of Los Angeles,
New York, San Francisco, Chicago, Washington D.C. and Honolulu.1 In this report, the Asian
American population was defined as individuals who reported their race as Chinese, Japanese,
Korean, Asian Indian, Vietnamese, Filipino and/or other Asian to the U.S. Census Bureau in 2010. As

The Effects Of Vitamin D And Its Effects On Children
traviolet (UV) rays from sunlight to activate it.
Breastmilk contains a small amount of vitamin D but that is not adequate for proper infant
development; therefore, exclusively breastfed infants should receive a supplement of vitamin D
shortly after birth.17 The current American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommendations for
vitamin D intake is 400 IU per day for all infants, children, and adolescents, beginning the first few
days after birth.18
Deficiency of vitamin D is known as rickets and can have severe and lasting effects on children as
they grow. Inadequate intake of vitamin D also decreases intestinal absorption of calcium and
phosphorus, causing improper mineralization of bones and teeth and resulting in swelled joints, bowed
legs, and poor growth during childhood. (See Figure 6.9.)
Iron
A full term infant is born with iron stores that reflect the mother s iron levels. If the mother consumes
an iron rich diet during pregnancy, the fetus builds iron stores to last the first 4 6 months of life. By 6
months, a breastfed infant needs an additional iron source, at which time, iron fortified infant cereals
can meet this need. The AAP recommends iron fortified formula for all formula fed babies. Preterm
infants have lower iron stores at birth that are depleted around 2 3 months of age.19 Human milk is a
source of iron, and compared with infant formula, a higher percentage of the iron in breastmilk is
absorbed: 50% of the iron in breastmilk is absorbed, whereas only

Persuasive Essay On Progressivist
3A) Personally, my greatest talent or skill would have to be that of a determined progressivist towards
impossible perfectionist; simply stating, being a determined progressivist allows me to make
assurances of whether my assignments, applications, or any other important task are done towards
completion. Whatever obstacle I face on this ever changing path of life, I always refute the option to
give in and fail. Most of those who do face these types of challenges typically give in, quit, and find a
more elementary occupation to fulfill what they could have been; however, I had never faced a
challenge in which itself had made me stressed to the point of submission and of defeat. Even if the
odds are stacked against me, I do not let those odds topple over and convince me to concede. This skill
was one that I had to truly develop throughout the entirety of my life. There were countless
opportunities and influences that would have pushed towards me to recede and let others take the
chance. The reason as to why this skill is truly dear to my own being is due to the fact that the
majority of others feel content with what seems to be more simple to complete. This is what sets me
apart from everyone else who has the same aspirations likewise to myself. This skill, unfortunately,
had always suffered from negligence and had been overshadowed by more pretentious and immediate
occupations. Very few students, like myself, had given this valuable skill the light of day and had been

The proposed research question asks whether a combined prolonged exposure (PE) and cognitive
processing therapy (CPT) approach is useful in treating veterans with post traumatic stress disorder
(PTSD). The population of interest for this study is veterans with PTSD. The ideal study would
include four groups: one to receive PE, one to receive CPT, one to receive both PE and CPT, and one
that does not receive an intervention. The groups would consist of an equal 50/50 male to female ratio
(half of the participants would be male, half would be female) to control for gender. The participants
would be randomly selected, by a computerized program, based on information gathered about
veterans with PTSD by the U.S. Department of Veteran s Affairs offices in each of the 23 regions of
the Veterans Integrated Service Networks (VISN). Once selected, the veterans will be randomly
placed into one of the four aforementioned groups, and given the Posttraumatic Cognitions Inventory
(PTCI), a scale used to measure a person s trauma related to their thoughts and beliefs to determine if
they have PTSD or PTSD symptoms. After the participants baseline PTSD symptoms are measured,
each group will receive their assigned intervention once a week for 15 weeks. After the intervention is
complete the participant s PTSD symptoms will again be measured using the PTCI scale at the one
week and three month mark after treatment is completed. The control group will also be offered the

Ethos Pathos And Logos Analysis
Before the building of architectural achievements such as the Roman Colosseum, the Taj Mahal, and
the Windsor Castle, a Greek philosopher named Aristotle had created the three pillars of persuasive
speech over 2,000 years ago. These three pillars are known as ethos, logos, and pathos. The
architectural feats mentioned above had been created to last and withstand demolition from external
forces such as the weather, aging, and cracking/erosion. Just like these buildings are structured, an
argument needs to be well put together so it cannot be torn apart. This resulted in the creation of the
three pillars. In the reading of Monstrous Beginnings, the author, W. Scott Poole, uses Aristotle s three
pillars attempting to convince the reader that among ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Pathos involves getting an emotional response from the reader, which is something that Poole
struggles to do in this writing. Although it is truly unfortunate how certain groups of people were
treated back then, Poole struggles to make you feel any sympathy for how the minorities were treated.
He does not include many stories that invoke feelings of anger towards the treatment of the natives or
pity or sorrow towards them. Another part that made his writing hard to read or feel any emotion over
were his long winded sentences. Many sentences went on longer than they should have, or could have
been cut in half to make shorter sentences so the material would become easier to read. Poole s writing
definitely leaned more toward the educational side than the emotional side as it seemed to read more
like a textbook than his own thoughts. However, there are a few examples in his writing that if he
made an effort, he could establish pathos much better. For example, Francisco de Chicora could have
made for a great story to establish pathos as he was a native who was kidnapped by Spanish explorers
and was forced into a different religion but was able to escape from them (179). However, the reader
learns the bulk of that information in the footnotes rather than by reading an emotional story that
would help establish the pathos in his writing. Poole is not able to evoke much, if any,

marching throughout the kingdom. It was the army of Florence. People were running and screaming in
terror as the army were pointing their guns at innocent civilians. He panicked and told his students to
stay calm and in their seats as he went out to warn Ferdinand and Miranda. Prospero took off out of
the building and started to run towards the castle. While he was running, he saw Caliban beating one
of the soldiers with one of the branches he had collected. Prospero was puzzled at seeing Caliban in
Naples, but he knew he had no time to worry about it, so he continued to run to the castle. Finally he
reached the castle and knocked on the door violently. Before Ferdinand even opened the door fully,
Prospero was hurriedly explaining what was happening. Ferdinand immediately called for the army.
He called for Miranda and told her to stay in their room and that she would be safe there. He called for
Sebastian and Antonio. Prospero, Ferdinand, Sebastian, and Antonio all got ready to fight with the
army. Prospero told them to wait and ran back to the classroom. He told his students to use everything
that they had learned to fight in the war. Some students were uneasy, while others were very excited at
the fact they were able to fight in the war. Prospero and his students ran out of the building and back
to the castle. When they got there, Ferdinand had already gotten Caliban back to the castle. Caliban
was apparently the leader of the army. Everyone knew that Caliban would destroy everybody, but
Ferdinand warned Prospero that Caliban may try to kill their own army of Naples. Prospero said that
he had it all under control, and that he is going to use magic to tame Caliban whenever he even
thought about turning on them. Prospero went towards the platypi and fed them a potion he had stored

likely refers to our main protagonist, Kaneki Ken.
While we re at it, there s actually an extensive meaning to it. The full quote reads The bird fights its

to God. That God s name was Abraxas.
Abraxas is designated as the power above all. Pretty much praised as the first ruler. It s also said that
he is both an Egyptian and a demon. I guess that pretty much says a lot already. Also, Abraxas looks a

nearly 3500 years ago the first author of this magical book did not start his story in 1500 b.c.e where
he belonged but rather the beginning of all time. From the beginning of time on the book has been
passed from person to person, until the closing of the book in 95 a.d. Throughout all of these years the
Bible has taught, inspired and even entertained millions of people. The Bible has many purposes and
one is to teach. The bible teaches mankind to have morals, to live pure, and to live by faith. In the
bible there are many commandments, these holy duties are expected from us as humans to live by. The
ten commandments: you shall have no other gods before Me. You shall make no idols. You shall not
take the name of the Lord your God in vain. Keep the Sabbath day holy. Honor your father and your
mother. You shall not murder. You shall not commit adultery. You shall not steal. You shall not bear
false witness against your neighbor. You shall not covet. . The ten commandments are meant for
people to look at and realize what they are doing right and wrong in their lives. Jesus intended people
to learn and gain knowledge through these commandments, yet in the world we live in today many
people would disregard these obligations as if they were burning the Bible. In tough times where
people do not know where to look for hope and redemption the bible always has words of wisdom and

The Importance Of Communication And Parents Or Guardians...
1. A teacher can provide positive communication to parents or guardians by making a good impression
from the first contact. Communication itself can be done through email, notes, calls, or face to face.
The best way to begin a good communication channel is by starting early to contact the parents and
introduce yourself and your expectations/plans for communication. By stating these to both the parent
and the student, everyone will know the best way to contact you. This makes it easier for you to send
the information and for the parents to receive it in a timely manner.
2. In my observation classroom, the teacher likes to use guided questions to facilitate class discussion.
Currently, the 8th graders are reading To Kill a Mockingbird. Sometimes it is good to begin on the
comprehension level to make sure that the students understand the plot of the story before asking them
further questions about analysis. She will then ask them what conclusions they draw from the text and
what makes them think that. Finally, they are asked to evaluate what they are reading. Do you agree
with Atticus decision to defend Tom Robinson? What would you do in Scout s position if that was
your father? She helps them go beyond just the knowledge level in order to better understand the
importance of the story.
3. Though I have not observed a specific instance of engaging students in learning in my observation
classroom, the professor of one of my English classes this semester does a good job of not

The Most Frequent Neurodegenerative Movement Disorder...
2 Introduction 2.1 Overview The most frequent neurodegenerative movement disorder today is
Parkinson Disease (Barth et al., 2011), with a prevalence which increases with age from 0.01% of
people in the age group 40 to 44 years, increasing steadily to approximately 1% at age 65 and 22% at
age 85 or over. Due to an aging society, increasing industrialization and environmental factors, the
number of patients will grow rapidly in the forthcoming decades. Parkinson s disease (PD) is a
progressive disorder of unknown etiology that has no cure. It is characterized by bradykinesia, rest
tremor, cogwheel rigidity and postural instability, along with a number of non motor signs. The
neurochemical hallmark of PD is dopamine loss in the nigrostriatal dopamine system (Adler, 2011). In
the substantia nigra (SN) of people with PD there is a loss of neuronal cells, demonstrated by the
degeneration of brainstem nuclei (Brooks, 1998). This typically shows as Lewy bodies spherical
masses of protein that develop inside nerve cells. However the progression of neuronal loss is quite
variable in different PD patients and at different phases of the disease. At present there is no treatment
that affects the degeneration, for example by slowing the rate of cell death or by protecting neurons.
Unfortunately by the time that PD is first diagnosed, 60% to 70% of the neurons in the SN responsible
for dopamine have degenerated and the striatal dopamine content is reduced by 80% (Adler, 2011) and

Bo Jackson Accomplishments
The famous athlete Bo Jackson is most well known for his share of talents in the MLB and NFL.
Many recognize him due to his more than unique athletic abilities. During his early childhood and
throughout his life, Bo had jaw dropping strength that no one could compare to. He could do backflips
in thigh high water, and could dunk a stick through a basketball hoop like Michael Jordan. Bo Jackson
is no stranger when it comes to strength abilities. Throughout his life he was praised for having
prodigious talents that almost seemed unreal. As a child he would throw crabapples at screen doors
with such a force that they would break through. He could dunk a stick through a basketball hoop like

with the White Sox. Bo Jackson is often considered to be one of the greatest athletes of all time. An
epic hero isn t cocky or boastful. Bo never once saw his talents as advantages rather than gifts. He
broke tons of records, and made a name for himself but never bragged. He broke records in highschool

Psychology in Silence of the Lambs

1991
Director Jonathan Demme

Anthony Hopkins Dr. Hannibal Lecter AKA Hannibal the Cannibal
Scott Glenn Jack Crawford
Ted Levine Jame Gumb AKA Buffalo Bill
Theme can be defined as a central insight. According to the authors of The Art of Watching Films, a
theme in a literary work or film should be universal and should be one that challenges people (Boggs
Petric, 2008). The Silence of the Lambs shows that peoples search for peace is universal. We see
characters from all walks of life searching for peace. There is Clarice Starling, an FBI agent in

You think if Catherine lives, you won t wake up in the dark ever again to that awful screaming of the
lambs (Demme, 1991). Clarice claims she doesn t know and it is possible she truly doesn t, but we can
see in her face that wants it to be true. We see the pain in her face and her desire to be released from
the screaming and find peace. Director Jonathan Demme lets us connect with the characters by
shattering the fourth wall. He positions the camera so Clarice is essentially talking to the audience in
extreme close up shots. This technique instills her anguish into the audience. Clarice then becomes
more demanding, asking for the killer s name but before Hannibal can answer Dr. Frederick Chilton
informs her it s time to go. She is nearly dragged out of the room, but breaks free to run back to
Hannibal s cage and retrieve her case files. The visual style up to this point in the scene has been dark,
but when Clarice rushes to the cage, there is light illuminating Hannibal. Clarice running towards this
light represents her search for peace. She is hoping the clues left by Dr. Lecter in the case files will
enable her to catch the killer, save the kidnapped girl, and stop the lambs from screaming.
The Silence of the Lambs is traditionally considered a horror film. However, it is more than that. It is a
great reference to sociology because it touches on so many topics important to people (Kim, 2010).

Modern Martial Arts
Philosophy is one of the most important aspects of any traditional martial art. The philosophies of
many martial arts such as Taekwondo, Kung Fu, and Karate are based off of Confucianism and
principles from Confucius s The Analects. Although traditional martial arts contain philosophical
teachings, modern martial arts have lost their meaning, or art. The popularity of the Ultimate Fighting
Championship (UFC) and Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) has contributed greatly to the loss of meaning
in modern martial arts. By examining the philosophy s importance in The Analects, one can see how
martial arts is more than a physical set of skills. One of the most important aspects of martial arts is
philosophy; without philosophy, there is no art. In ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Throughout history, there have been famous groups of warriors who followed codes of conduct based
on Confucianism and Confucius s script, The Analects. The Samurai of Japan are the most famous
warriors associated with Confucianism, specifically referring to a code called Bushido, and are noted
for their display of chivalry to both friends and foes. Chivalry in Asia guides conduct as to inspire and
enhance humanity s development (Simpkins, Annellen and Alex). The ancient Hwa Rang Do warriors
of Korea also borrowed ideas from Confucian doctrine. Hwa Rang Do later became known as
Taekwondo, the most popular martial art in the world. Taekwondo s moral culture is influenced by the
moral culture of Confucian philosophy (Maguire). Modern Taekwondo is more than a skill/technique
set; it is an art. Traditional martial arts, including Taekwondo, integrate the art as a lifestyle, rather
than a sport/hobby.
Unfortunately, today s martial arts lack the traditional meanings of martial arts. There is no philosophy
or meaning in the UFC/MMA circuits. Many critics condemn the brutal sport because of the lack of
rules and protective gear. In the cage (fighting arena), the goal is to win. The fighters are always
training and always comparing themselves to other fighters. Even when an opponent is on the ground
or knocked out, their opponent attacks until the referee steps in. UFC and MMA fights are unrealistic
in their round durations. Life and death fights or conflicts on the street

Tips on how to make your girl reach the seventh heaven
There are many ways to please your woman, cuddle her, spoil her, use little gestures to make her feel
special but nothing comes close to making her reach orgasm. There are many ways other than sex that
you can use to masturbate a girl. Actually, the answer is right at your fingertips. I mean literally in
your fingers. With just your fingers you can perform magic and your girl will reach the seventh
heaven. Masturbation, in fact, is actually a healthy practice whether performed solo or on your partner.
Here we discuss three techniques to masturbate a girl so that she starts squirting.

After sliding off her pants start rubbing along the clitoris on top of her underwear. When you figure
out she is wet enough, slide off her underwear but do not start for the clitoris. Rub your fingers along
the lips and opening of the vagina to build up the tension and excitement. Listen for her soft moans
and then start rubbing her clitoris gently. Start slowly so that she does not get excited too quickly and
then increasing thereafter. Spread her legs and slowly insert your middle finger inside her. Use your
finger in a come here motion. Slowly but surely increasing the pressure while using your thumb to rub
the lips in a circular motion. Avoid thrusting your fingers in and out at first. Make sure she is enjoying
what you are doing.
3. The G Spot
This is the most important part which every guy fails to locate. It s like The Bermuda Triangle inside a
woman s body. Continue with your finger then slowly insert a second finger and continue as before.
Out of excitement do not try and insert all five fingers, this will only hurt her. Listen to what she is
saying. Whether she wants it more fast or slow. Finding the G Spot takes a bit time and pressure. You
will feel a bumpy kind of area inside and this is when her moans will be the loudest. Do not slow
down at this point. Continue with the motions and thrusts in a rhythmic pattern slowly building up the
pressure.
You will come to know when she has reached orgasm. Some women start to squirt when they reach
orgasm making it a more sensual feel. Slowly take out your fingers and let her relax and take a bit of

The Work And Contribution Of Anna Freud

contribution of Anna Freud. She is known for her construction of child psychoanalysis theory and her
interpretation of child psychology. Anna Freud (1895 1982) is famous as being involved in the
foundation of the child psychoanalytic movement. She was the youngest of Freud s children and the
only one to whose life was devoted to psychoanalysis. Her development of child psychoanalysis has
been greatly noted in the history of psychology. Anna Freud kept the basic ideas that her father

Emotional difficulties are extensive in young children; the older children have great problem in

She also had a major impact in Freudian psychological research. She is responsible for the

Technology And Its Impact On Human History
Humans transitioning from being hunting and gathering nomads that would wander looking for food
to being masters of full fledged civilizations was one of the biggest changes in all of human history.
Now this change in history was caused by first humans ability to create tools and mastering
technology. The mastering of technology played a huge role in the development in civilizations
however science wasn t as much of a concern to people in prehistory and didn t become very common
till the first civilizations and even then it was only that of practical science that could be used by the

astronomy and that was able to help in the development of calendars. The first things humans had

important technology was the control of fire which allowed humans the ability to cook their food, use
it to move into colder climates, kept wild animals away, and very important because now humans no
longer needed to depend solely on the sun as a light and heat source. It was also able to harden
wooden tools. They also made things like needles for sewing clothing, spears used for hunting, and
even had developed rope and nets. Almost all tools developed by the first humans were for food

The Meaning Of The Persistence Of Memory By Salvador Dali
I remember the painting The Persistence of Memory by Salvador Dali that I could see in one of my
textbooks back then when I was in Poland taking a history class. I really enjoyed the painting, even
though I did not really know what the meaning of the painting was. Now, I got motivated to write a
research paper about the piece of art, and to answer the question what the meaning of The Persistence
of Memory by Salvador Dali is. The painting was created in 1931. Salvador Dali was a Spanish
surrealist. Surrealism was a movement in the culture that introduced new techniques of creating visual
arts. Surrealism was concentrated on people imagination, dreams, subconscious and unconscious
minds on the nonphysical aspects of a human s body. Surrealists often created their works using dream
imagery. Symbols played an important role in the art of surrealism. Symbols expressed ideas and
emotions that were held by the authors of the visual arts, and they usually had hidden meanings.
Salvador Dali was passionate about the intangible parts of people minds and lives. (Stanley Meisler,
pp.16 17) The main desire of the Salvador Dali s painting titled The Persistence of Memory was to
express the power of people memories with the respect to the passing time. However, the painting The
Persistence of Memory has other significant meanings. Some art scholars strongly emphasize that
there is a correlation between the painting of Salvador Dali and the General Theory of Relativity by

Shell Shock And PTSD In Vimy By Vern Thiessen
The Mind at War Men and women, alike, have been fighting for their rights and freedoms over many

damage to such combatants. Post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a condition where one has been
traumatized by something in their past. This ordeal disrupts sleep and causes the continuous vivid

Shell shock and PTSD are very similar when symptoms are concerned. Shell shock is considered to be
an intellectual forerunner to PTSD according to Doctor Stephen Joseph from the University of
Nottingham (Joseph). PTSD is defined by a modern criterion created by the American Psychiatric
Association. The first set of criteria includes either exposure to death, threatened death, serious injury,
or sexual violence in some way (Jones 19). The second criterion involves re living the experience
either through nightmares, flashbacks, upsetting memories, or other occurrences. There must be a
stimulus causing the re experiencing of the trauma (American Psychiatric Association). The person
must have, according to the US Department of Veterans Affairs, negative thoughts or feelings and
trauma related provocation and reactivity that began or are worsened after the trauma (American
Psychiatric Association). These symptoms must last for over one month, cause distress or impairment
to the person, and must not be the result of substance use or medication (American Psychiatric
Association). If all these are met, then the USA declares the person to have PTSD and are counseled.
This was not the case in the First World War. Thiessen depicts this in her play, Vimy, most noticeably
when Clare speaks to Laurie. Clare brings up the topic and immediately Laurie becomes upset. He
demonstrates multiple PTSD symptoms such as upsetting memories, re experiencing trauma, negative
thoughts about his life, long lasting symptoms, and he is clearly distressed. Clare, the nurse, is
frightened by what Laurie has experienced, but does nothing to help because she does not know how.

During the twentieth century, many writers emerged including, J.D. Salinger and Virginia Woolf.
Virginia Woolf helped show that the novel didn t have to just be about the big and the grand, but also
the everyday. Salinger and Woolf s books often included intimate details from their lives. They
broadened the field of what was considered acceptable for writing. For example, in The New Dress , a

In the works of Salinger and Woolf, the reader first notices that stream of consciousness does not

such as when he talks about his dead brother: My brother Allie has this left handed fielder s mitt

actually cares about people in his life such as Jane Gallagher and his siblings Allie and Phoebe
(Salinger 16). In Mrs. Dalloway by Virginia Woolf, Peter Walsh, a former lover of Mrs Dalloway,
visits her and tries to seem detached but we see from inside his mind his true thoughts: But it was
Clarissa one remembered...Not that she was striking; not beautiful at all; there was nothing

Comparing The Jungle And How The Other Half Lives
Society has led us to believe that what doesn t kill you actually makes you stronger. That there is no
gain without pain. That a man s blood, sweat, and tears will be all worth the struggle. The Roman poet
Horace even once said that adversity can bring out talents which in a successful environment, would
not exist. With all these assurances that difficult circumstances will meritable, it is hard to picture
Horace s statement being challenged. However, in the books, The Jungle, and How the Other Half
Lives, adversity clearly never led to any such benefits or talents being drawn out as Horace
mentioned. For example, within, The Jungle, by Upton Sinclair, Jurgis, a Lithuanian immigrant, came
to America with his family for the American Dream. Eventually, they fall into fiscal trouble, and
Jurgis old father, Antennas, is forced to perform grueling work until he dies from it. Additionally,
Jurgis struggles to pay for his high interest house, and instead of eliciting a talent, Jurgis elicits harsh
resentment for his family. How the Other Half Lives, by Jacob Riis, also described many of the
worries the people of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The only dormant thing that was unveiled was his contempt for his family. He hated having so much
to worry about and no money for himself. He calls himself a slave to marriage because he longs to be
free from responsibility. No talents or abilities came from this misfortune, and the family is never able
to pay off the house. One by one, most of his loved ones die because Jurgis is no longer strong enough
to support them. If Horace was right, Jurgis would have found a sleeping skill within himself to save
the day and help everyone, but that just is not how reality works. Hard times do not mean that one will
come out a more skillful person. Horace s words really let Jurgis

Reasons of Conspiracy Essays
Reasons of Conspiracy People come up with crazy ideas all the time, many of which are torn apart by
scientific evidence. However, some ideas are crafted so precisely and detailed; they are accepted as
fact by millions of people. These alternatives to accepted history are known as Conspiracy Theories,
and the people who create them are of a special breed. It is difficult to imagine having the time and
passion to craft an alternative reason behind many of the world s events and tragedies, but these
people are born to do so. There is a specific recipe for such a person, a carefully crafted powerful
concoction that breeds the hatred for government and the quest for the truth . Such people have been
around for thousands of years, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Before the discussion if furthered, it is important to lay down the basics of who really is a conspiracy
theorist. By Conspiracy Theorist , it is meant to reference a person who has spent at least ten years of
their life to the ideas which counter those of larger accepted organizations (ex: Government). These
persons must have published at least two books about their topics and must have some sort of mass
following and audience. According to PBS, a Conspiracy Theorist is: someone who postulates on the
existence of secret agreements between two or more people or government to perform unlawful acts.
(PBS: Strange Days) that definition is what will be used in conjunction with the stated qualifications
above for each person discussed in this paper. Due to the limited resources and time constraints I
cannot claim that the stated characteristics are the only factors of a conspiracy theorists. There are
many factors that influence one to become interested in devoting ones life to counter history. It is
possible to deeply research the personal background of a large number of conspiracy theorists, but due
to time and general interest, I will not be completing such a task. The ones who are discussed are those
who had readily available information/ responded to the questionnaire that was sent (a total of three
people where sent the questionnaire, two responded). There are four specific factors that are believed

Reaction Paper On Pre-Interaction
Pre Interaction:
What information are you seeking to gain from this interaction?
During this interaction, I am hoping to gain information about various topics on campus. The
following topics include: Public Safety, lack of trash cans, how to get commuter students more
involved, and how can we improve the GCU experience for commuter students. The reason, I bought
up discussing about Public Safety, is that commuter students are the ones who constantly are walking
to and from the Halo and 29th Avenue garages and I just want to see if there has been any issues. The
reason, I plan on discussing the lack of trash cans, is that it was bought up to my attention during a
previous interaction that there were not trash cans by the popular areas like the student union and the
Engineering classrooms. Also, this individual was concern that there is a lack of trash cans by the
commuter lounge. The third question, I wanted to focus on how we could get more commuter students
to our events. Lastly, I want every commuter student to feel like they have a great college experience
that is why I am asking how we can make their experience at GCU better.
Please list the questions that you plan to ask students below:
Do you feel safe when coming on and off campus? How you experience any issues?
Do you feel there is a lack of trash cans near popular areas like the Student Union and the Engineering
building?
How can we get more commuter students involved on campus?
How can we improve your GCU experience?
Notes:
Post Interaction:
What were the main concerns and issues raised by students?
The main concerns and issues raised by students were that they do not feel like they know about
various events on campus. Most students felt that there should be an email that goes out with all the
events that week on it. Another issue was they feel like that they need to have more events in the
afternoon early evening, so they can attend. They feel like they will not come back to campus unless it
is a really big event. Another issue that was addressed was installing a left turn signal by the Halo
garage. Most commuter students felt that this would solve the issues of trying to get out of the

Blue Ridge Manufacturing Case Summary
The firm was considering devoting a greater share of the production resources to the sports line. What
do your results in part two imply about the product line s continued success, and whether the firm
should devote more resources to that line? You should consider and answer the following questions:
Should the sports line be dropped?
Blue Ridge Manufacturing should drop the sports line because it s operating at net loss of $247,127.
The sports line should consider increasing price while maintaining current market shares in order to
continue operations. Also, indirect cost is high for sports line compared to designer and children s line
hence firm should consider cost reduction items as outlined below.
Can you determine why market share (sales) for the sports line was increasing?
I can t determine why the sales for sports line was increasing. In order to determine the reason I would
like to review previous year income statement for comparison. Also, it would be helpful to have
activities based cost information from previous year for comparison.

As shown in table 1 that sports line indirect cost is 50% of the total cost and top 3 cost reduction items
the firm should consider are Designer s Pay, number of unique items, and number of material moves.
What are the benefits of an ABC allocation of indirect costs that a single, volume based allocation
cannot provide?
Activity based costing is more accurate because it takes important factors into account before
assigning a cost to a product. It s also more thorough and considers nonmanufacturing expenses as
well, such as administrative and managerial costs. The ABC method is accurate, however it s
expensive to

have a better understanding and control over social media and the problems that can arise from it.
Manco Abbott should create a management strategy and guidelines for their employees to follow to
limit potential problems that can arise from social media. Also, our group examined solutions to

Therefore, in the guideline, the firm has to address a clear strategy and policies of the control of social
media for their community manager, and it has to reflect the value, objective, and mission of Manco
Abbott. Secondly, Manco Abbott s high management should create a system that helps the firm to
have more opportunities of internal communication among all employees in the organization. Manco
Abbott should encourage weekly meetings between community managers and assistants to find
solutions to solve tenant s issues in accordance to social media. The firm should strictly schedule
routine meetings for representatives from different departments to discuss and solve the most
appealing issues that they are facing regarding social media. Additionally, the firm should offer a
social media training program within the organization that is designed for community managers and
assistants. This special training program should focus on solving tenant s issues via social media in the

Essay On Miranda Rights Warning
In many cases of arrest in the United States, there is the reading of one very important warning. This
warning is known as the Miranda Rights. The other official title that this warning was given though is
the Miranda Warning. The Miranda Rights though, tell every citizen who is at least the suspect of a
crime, that they are not required to speak to any person of authority who is questioning them for any
reason. That is, unless they feel the need to do so. These rights notify suspects and citizens also, that
they have the right to an attorney, and that if they cannot afford one, that there still will be one that is
provided for them.
Our country s citizens all deserve to have their Miranda Rights read to them when being taken into
custody by police. Honestly, our citizens not only deserve it, they need it. Having these rights read to
them can save them from lots of legal issues later on in life. So, whether the police really think a
person committed a crime or not should not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
today. This causes our country s percentage of citizens who know their rights to go down quite a bit.
This is because of the simple fact that when people from another country enter ours, these immigrants
do not always know everything about the country they re going into. Countries other than ours always
have different laws and ideas of what is right and what is wrong, so what is against the law in America
may be perfectly safe or legal in their country.
The right to hire a lawyer or an attorney is very important also. Having this right can help citizens who
do not work well with authorities, have someone there with them while being questioned about these
matters. This lawyer being present at the time of interrogation, can remind their client of their rights,
and help them to understand the laws they haven t heard of or just simply don t understand. This is
especially true when the suspect is foreign or uneducated in

Happy Milk Lab
Do Happy Cows Make Better Milk?: Analysis of the Chemical Components of Milk The main goal of
this lab was to correctly separate milk into its major components. Other objectives included:
performing basic qualitative tests to confirm correct separation, identifying the major components of
milk, and assigning polar and non polar properties to components of milk. The goal of separating the
components of milk was desirable because their differences in properties required different techniques
to separate them. The casein, Vitamins A, D, and E, and fats were all nonpolar and therefore dissolved
in nonpolar solutions.1 Whey, lactose, calcium, phosphate, vitamin B, vitamin C, and water were all
polar and therefore dissolved in polar solutions.1 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The protein was unraveled as disruptions occurred in the protein s secondary and tertiary structures.2
The result of denaturation was solid whey protein. The lactose, calcium, phosphate, and water were
unaffected by the heating process and remained liquid. In the third separation, ethyl acetate was added
to dissolve the fats mixed with the casein. Casein, unable to dissolve in the nonpolar solution,
remained a white solid.1 The ethyl acetate, with a lower boiling point than the fat, was boiled off,
leaving a yellow liquid containing fat and various fat soluble vitamins. Vitamin A caused the liquid to
be yellow, which confirmed the presence of vitamins. The residue was added to water, where it proved
to be insoluble in water. This indicated that the residue contained fat, because fat was the only
nonpolar liquid remaining at the end of the separations. The tests for carbohydrates, lactose, calcium,
and phosphates performed on the liquid portion from the second separation were all positive. This was
expected, so no errors were made in the first or second separation. The tests for proteins performed on
the solids produced from the separation were both positive, so no errors were made in the separations
that isolated casein and whey. The test for proteins performed on the liquid portion from the second
separation was negative. This was expected because it meant that all of the whey was removed from
this portion in the denaturing

driver of the vehicle. Additionally, Eydoel stated that he knew the vehicle was stolen.
Also Post Miranda, Sam stated that he knew the vehicle was stolen and that Carlo was the driver of
the vehicle. Furthermore, when questioned about the pistol that was found in the seat Sam was sitting
in. Sam stated that when the police got behind the vehicle Carlo handed him the pistol and then stop
the vehicle and told everyone to run. A criminal history check of both Carlo and Sam indicated that
they were convicted felons.
Based on the fact that Carlo was the driver of a stolen vehicle, attempted to elude police and was in

The Secession Of The Civil War
Secession Paper Assignment After Abraham Lincoln was elected president in 1860, politicians in the
southern states wished to secede from the northern states. President Lincoln opposed slavery and
hoped to get rid of this act in any state that practiced it. The southern states viewed Lincoln s vision as
a threat to those states who supported slavery and they believed that having an anti slavery president
would endanger the states in many ways. For this reason, South Carolina became the first to secede six
weeks after Lincoln became president and later on more states to follow the secession (lecture). The
states who seceded became known as the Confederate states and the conflict resulted in the civil war
which lasted from 1861 to 1865 (lecture). The secession all falls back to the disagreement between the
North and the South s different views on slavery based on three different factors which were
geographic positioning, economic power and man power. Not all southern states seceded from the
Union. The wave of secession varied between the Upper South, Middle South and Deep South states.
The geographic positioning was an important factor that determined how much influence slavery had
on the states. The Deep South states, which included South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama,
Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas, were the states who were the most dependent on slavery. The
reason for this is because the soil in this region was the best for growing crops. Most wealthy white

  • 2. Female Marginality In The Catholic Church As the society continues to strive for gender equality within the work force, there is neglect in one specific component of culture: religion. Female marginality is very much prominent in the Catholic Church. As women around the world strive to create a greater voice in corporation, there should also be goals toward a greater feminine voice in Catholicism. Understanding female role in Catholicism and analyzing prominent females in Catholicism enables women of the future to develop a greater influence in the church. Women should seek for female advocacy in the Catholic Church by examining female roles in Catholicism, exceptional women in Catholicism, and traditions of Catholicism. Understanding the definition of female marginality is important before being able to apply it to the Catholic Church. Female marginality is defined as females who hold limited options or opinions on any matter. Traditionally, women were defined as the caretaker of the household and children, limiting women to domesticated duties while men held superiority in the work force. In the past, men supported their families in terms of wealth while female roles were placed in occupations with housewife like and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the past, a woman s appearance determined her role in society. If society considered a woman attractive, just as Rosa was, she would be eligible for marrying into a wealthy family. Not only did she reject the life as a wealthy housewife, she refused to enter the convent as a way to maintain her virginity. • 3. Missing Child Experiment We are going to examine an experiment about a missing child. There will be a group of twenty college students that we examine leading up to the missing child to experiment. In the experiment tested, we will see that people fail to notice the world around them. This was seen in the Missing Child experiment. The child was in eyesight, but the people did not even think to look. These candidates did not take time to even look at the flyer they were shown. The person, not noticing a missing person right next to the flyer placed in front of a store can be caused by several factors, distractions, or even possible fears. All over the world, people are doing this Missing Child Experiment, and it is astonishing what some of the factors were. One of the causes mentioned on this experiment was that ... Making time to stop and breathe to read a flyer because that could be the next step to making a miracle happen. A question that comes up is has the world become so lazy that they on purpose do not want to read the life that is in front of them? Joe Navarro states this about one of the fellow people that he had talked to almost twenty years ago, Gavin de Becker wrote The Gift of Fear (link is external), in an effort to warn and educate us about being more observant and aware. He encouraged us to look around and to listen to that that inner voice, which is really our limbic brain telling us to be careful that something is wrong (Navarro). Unfortunately, that is so true. If there is a prompting that comes up inside of us as a human being, what do we do about it? Most people overlook it because they are not aware of that inner voice. The inner voice can be the form of life sign that could save one of those millions of missing children we see all over the world ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. A Comparison of Haydn s Symphony No 95 With Beethoven s... A Comparison of Haydn s Symphony No. 95 with Beethoven s Symphony No. 5 Introduction As noted by Robert Hughes, Beethoven was not only the embodiment of all that was before him, but also of that which was yet to come (Hughes 486). The truth of this may be seen by comparing Beethoven s 5th Symphony in C Minor to Haydn, the father of Symphony, and his 95th in C Minor. While Haydn s symphony is both playful and dramatic, Beethoven s symphony is grander both in terms of scale and vision. He expands the size of the orchestra to incorporate the sounds swirling around, underlying, and depicting the arrival of Fate in a rhythm driven, thematic symphony that takes Haydn s form and runs with it as though to the top of a mountain peak. This paper will analyze the symphonies by movement, according to form, size, structure, tonalities, melodies, orchestral sound and overall mood and effect. 1st Movement Both Haydn s and Beethoven s first movements are composed in sonata form, with an exposition stated in the opening that is then developed and recapitulated. The size of Haydn s opening movement is somewhat smaller than Beethoven s, whose opening exposition itself seems larger than life. Haydn s first movement is roughly six minutes long, and the length of Beethoven s first movement only exceeds Haydn s by about a minute and a half to two minutes. Beethoven does not introduce too many structural changes to the traditional sonata form, which he learned from Haydn, in the first ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Breastmilk contains a small amount of vitamin D but that is not adequate for proper infant development; therefore, exclusively breastfed infants should receive a supplement of vitamin D shortly after birth.17 The current American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommendations for vitamin D intake is 400 IU per day for all infants, children, and adolescents, beginning the first few days after birth.18 Deficiency of vitamin D is known as rickets and can have severe and lasting effects on children as they grow. Inadequate intake of vitamin D also decreases intestinal absorption of calcium and phosphorus, causing improper mineralization of bones and teeth and resulting in swelled joints, bowed legs, and poor growth during childhood. (See Figure 6.9.) Iron A full term infant is born with iron stores that reflect the mother s iron levels. If the mother consumes an iron rich diet during pregnancy, the fetus builds iron stores to last the first 4 6 months of life. By 6 months, a breastfed infant needs an additional iron source, at which time, iron fortified infant cereals can meet this need. The AAP recommends iron fortified formula for all formula fed babies. Preterm infants have lower iron stores at birth that are depleted around 2 3 months of age.19 Human milk is a source of iron, and compared with infant formula, a higher percentage of the iron in breastmilk is absorbed: 50% of the iron in breastmilk is absorbed, whereas only ... Whatever obstacle I face on this ever changing path of life, I always refute the option to give in and fail. Most of those who do face these types of challenges typically give in, quit, and find a more elementary occupation to fulfill what they could have been; however, I had never faced a challenge in which itself had made me stressed to the point of submission and of defeat. Even if the odds are stacked against me, I do not let those odds topple over and convince me to concede. This skill was one that I had to truly develop throughout the entirety of my life. There were countless opportunities and influences that would have pushed towards me to recede and let others take the chance. The reason as to why this skill is truly dear to my own being is due to the fact that the majority of others feel content with what seems to be more simple to complete. This is what sets me apart from everyone else who has the same aspirations likewise to myself. This skill, unfortunately, had always suffered from negligence and had been overshadowed by more pretentious and immediate occupations. The ideal study would include four groups: one to receive PE, one to receive CPT, one to receive both PE and CPT, and one that does not receive an intervention. The groups would consist of an equal 50/50 male to female ratio (half of the participants would be male, half would be female) to control for gender. The participants would be randomly selected, by a computerized program, based on information gathered about veterans with PTSD by the U.S. Department of Veteran s Affairs offices in each of the 23 regions of the Veterans Integrated Service Networks (VISN). Once selected, the veterans will be randomly placed into one of the four aforementioned groups, and given the Posttraumatic Cognitions Inventory (PTCI), a scale used to measure a person s trauma related to their thoughts and beliefs to determine if they have PTSD or PTSD symptoms. Ethos Pathos And Logos Analysis Before the building of architectural achievements such as the Roman Colosseum, the Taj Mahal, and the Windsor Castle, a Greek philosopher named Aristotle had created the three pillars of persuasive speech over 2,000 years ago. The architectural feats mentioned above had been created to last and withstand demolition from external forces such as the weather, aging, and cracking/erosion. Just like these buildings are structured, an argument needs to be well put together so it cannot be torn apart. This resulted in the creation of the three pillars. Another part that made his writing hard to read or feel any emotion over were his long winded sentences. Poole s writing definitely leaned more toward the educational side than the emotional side as it seemed to read more like a textbook than his own thoughts. However, there are a few examples in his writing that if he made an effort, he could establish pathos much better. For example, Francisco de Chicora could have made for a great story to establish pathos as he was a native who was kidnapped by Spanish explorers and was forced into a different religion but was able to escape from them (179). However, the reader learns the bulk of that information in the footnotes rather than by reading an emotional story that would help establish the pathos in his writing. The bible teaches mankind to have morals, to live pure, and to live by faith. In the bible there are many commandments, these holy duties are expected from us as humans to live by. The ten commandments: you shall have no other gods before Me. You shall make no idols. You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain. Keep the Sabbath day holy. • 23. The Importance Of Communication And Parents Or Guardians... 1. A teacher can provide positive communication to parents or guardians by making a good impression from the first contact. Communication itself can be done through email, notes, calls, or face to face. The best way to begin a good communication channel is by starting early to contact the parents and introduce yourself and your expectations/plans for communication. By stating these to both the parent and the student, everyone will know the best way to contact you. This makes it easier for you to send the information and for the parents to receive it in a timely manner. 2. In my observation classroom, the teacher likes to use guided questions to facilitate class discussion. Currently, the 8th graders are reading To Kill a Mockingbird. Sometimes it is good to begin on the comprehension level to make sure that the students understand the plot of the story before asking them further questions about analysis. • 24. The Most Frequent Neurodegenerative Movement Disorder... 2 Introduction 2.1 Overview The most frequent neurodegenerative movement disorder today is Parkinson Disease (Barth et al., 2011), with a prevalence which increases with age from 0.01% of people in the age group 40 to 44 years, increasing steadily to approximately 1% at age 65 and 22% at age 85 or over. Due to an aging society, increasing industrialization and environmental factors, the number of patients will grow rapidly in the forthcoming decades. Parkinson s disease (PD) is a progressive disorder of unknown etiology that has no cure. It is characterized by bradykinesia, rest tremor, cogwheel rigidity and postural instability, along with a number of non motor signs. The neurochemical hallmark of PD is dopamine loss in the nigrostriatal dopamine system (Adler, 2011). In the substantia nigra (SN) of people with PD there is a loss of neuronal cells, demonstrated by the degeneration of brainstem nuclei (Brooks, 1998). This typically shows as Lewy bodies spherical masses of protein that develop inside nerve cells. However the progression of neuronal loss is quite variable in different PD patients and at different phases of the disease. At present there is no treatment that affects the degeneration, for example by slowing the rate of cell death or by protecting neurons. Unfortunately by the time that PD is first diagnosed, 60% to 70% of the neurons in the SN responsible for dopamine have degenerated and the striatal dopamine content is reduced by 80% (Adler, 2011) and ... We see the pain in her face and her desire to be released from the screaming and find peace. Director Jonathan Demme lets us connect with the characters by shattering the fourth wall. He positions the camera so Clarice is essentially talking to the audience in extreme close up shots. This technique instills her anguish into the audience. Surrealism was concentrated on people imagination, dreams, subconscious and unconscious minds on the nonphysical aspects of a human s body. Surrealists often created their works using dream imagery. PTSD is defined by a modern criterion created by the American Psychiatric Association. The first set of criteria includes either exposure to death, threatened death, serious injury, or sexual violence in some way (Jones 19). The second criterion involves re living the experience either through nightmares, flashbacks, upsetting memories, or other occurrences. There must be a stimulus causing the re experiencing of the trauma (American Psychiatric Association). The person must have, according to the US Department of Veterans Affairs, negative thoughts or feelings and trauma related provocation and reactivity that began or are worsened after the trauma (American Psychiatric Association). These symptoms must last for over one month, cause distress or impairment to the person, and must not be the result of substance use or medication (American Psychiatric Association). If all these are met, then the USA declares the person to have PTSD and are counseled. This was not the case in the First World War. Salinger and Woolf s books often included intimate details from their lives. They broadened the field of what was considered acceptable for writing. Holden s hidden sides are revealed in when he talks about those who he cares about such as when he talks about his dead brother: My brother Allie has this left handed fielder s mitt (Salinger 38). Holden says I m the most terrific liar you ever saw in your life but shows that he actually cares about people in his life such as Jane Gallagher and his siblings Allie and Phoebe (Salinger 16). In Mrs. Dalloway by Virginia Woolf, Peter Walsh, a former lover of Mrs Dalloway, visits her and tries to seem detached but we see from inside his mind his true thoughts: But it was Clarissa one remembered...Not that she was striking; not beautiful at all; there was nothing picturesque about her; she never said anything especially clever; there she was, however; there she was. That a man s blood, sweat, and tears will be all worth the struggle. The Roman poet Horace even once said that adversity can bring out talents which in a successful environment, would not exist. With all these assurances that difficult circumstances will meritable, it is hard to picture Horace s statement being challenged. However, in the books, The Jungle, and How the Other Half Lives, adversity clearly never led to any such benefits or talents being drawn out as Horace mentioned. For example, within, The Jungle, by Upton Sinclair, Jurgis, a Lithuanian immigrant, came to America with his family for the American Dream. Other objectives included: performing basic qualitative tests to confirm correct separation, identifying the major components of milk, and assigning polar and non polar properties to components of milk. The goal of separating the components of milk was desirable because their differences in properties required different techniques to separate them. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The protein was unraveled as disruptions occurred in the protein s secondary and tertiary structures.2 The result of denaturation was solid whey protein. The lactose, calcium, phosphate, and water were unaffected by the heating process and remained liquid. In the third separation, ethyl acetate was added to dissolve the fats mixed with the casein. Casein, unable to dissolve in the nonpolar solution, remained a white solid.1 The ethyl acetate, with a lower boiling point than the fat, was boiled off, leaving a yellow liquid containing fat and various fat soluble vitamins. Vitamin A caused the liquid to be yellow, which confirmed the presence of vitamins. The residue was added to water, where it proved to be insoluble in water. This indicated that the residue contained fat, because fat was the only nonpolar liquid remaining at the end of the separations. The tests for carbohydrates, lactose, calcium, and phosphates performed on the liquid portion from the second separation were all positive. This was expected, so no errors were made in the first or second separation. The tests for proteins performed on the solids produced from the separation were both positive, so no errors were made in the separations that isolated casein and whey. President Lincoln opposed slavery and hoped to get rid of this act in any state that practiced it. The southern states viewed Lincoln s vision as a threat to those states who supported slavery and they believed that having an anti slavery president would endanger the states in many ways. For this reason, South Carolina became the first to secede six weeks after Lincoln became president and later on more states to follow the secession (lecture). The states who seceded became known as the Confederate states and the conflict resulted in the civil war which lasted from 1861 to 1865 (lecture). The secession all falls back to the disagreement between the North and the South s different views on slavery based on three different factors which were geographic positioning, economic power and man power. Not all southern states seceded from the Union. The wave of secession varied between the Upper South, Middle South and Deep South states. The geographic positioning was an important factor that determined how much influence slavery had on the states. The Deep South states, which included South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas, were the states who were the most dependent on slavery.
