Safe spaces should be included and supported on campuses but the university in its entirety must not
become a safe space.
I believe that safe spaces should be allowed on campuses because, safe spaces allow students to feel
comfortable and speak without being judged while also assisting students in need and helping to form
strong relationships. However, I don t think the entire university must become a safe space because I
still believe that safe spaces can prevent conversations on controversy.
To start off, Timothy Garton Ash says in his article that a student explains safe spaces as areas on
campus where students especially but not limited to those who have endured trauma or feel
marginalised can feel comfortable talking about their experiences , and gives the example of a Hillel

Character Analysis Of The Godfather
The Godfather was directed by Francis Ford Coppola and was released in 1972. It starred Al Pacino
and Marlon Brando as the two main characters. This movie is one of the best films to grace the big
screen to this date. It has a very well executed plot as well. I like this movie a lot, portrays generally
unlikeable characters in a sympathetic light and by the end of the movie you are truly rooting for
them. I like that Coppola takes a very unlikeable subject and generally bad people and turns them into

is fantastic. Michael Corleone (Al Pacino) is the epitome of this concept. At the beginning he is a
returning Veteran who wants nothing to do with the family crime business. By the end he has
transformed to a ruthless yet caring mob boss. He has a personal conflict that most people can relate
to. He is conflicted between pleasing his parents and pleasing himself. In the end he takes a hybrid
route choosing to be a caring yet ruthless mob boss; separating business and personal matters. Michael
may be the best example, but the whole Corleone family is very relatable. George Ebert would agree:

The biggest shopping day of the year is known as Black Friday . This is when loads of people all
around the country gather around to shop store sales everywhere before Christmas time settles in.
Stores began to use the term in the 1970s because the day after Thanksgiving marked the start of the
profitable holiday shopping season... (Zillman). According to Amanda Nicholson this term may go
back even earlier into the 1960s. Black Friday was how police officers described the day after
Thanksgiving because residents from the city and near suburbs marched the stores of Philadelphia in
search of gifts for the holidays (Zillman). The sale has since then tragically morphed from the early
first development, changing ever so drastically. Every year stores open earlier practically flipping the
bird to Thanksgiving in a way that is detrimental to history. Black Friday should be held only on its
original specified date of the Friday after Thanksgiving so that it does not interfere in any way with
the holiday gatherings because it takes employees away from their families and friends diminishing
the value of Thanksgiving as a whole.
This year most stores decided they would open on Thanksgiving. For most, Black Friday makes or

The Alawites The Alawites, a religious sect within the middle east and a branch of Islam, have rather
mysterious origins that are not always agreed upon by scholars today. Today there is no real universal
consensus as to how this sect formed and perspectives on them vary. The Western perspective is that
they descended from ancient middle eastern people s. The Alawites themselves believe they are
descendants of Hasan al Askari and Muhammad ibn Nusayr. They believed Hasan to be the twelfth
Imam who was prophesized to fight injustice. Ibn Nusayr was believed to be the founder of the sect
and it is from his name that the term Nusayris developed. Nusayris is not often used today as it seen to
be a derogatory term and offensive to the Alawites. Their name or Alawi translates to followers of Ala
or God showing their beliefs are rooted in the following of God and doing his work. The mysterious
nature of the sects origins is rooted in the secrecy of their beliefs. They have been known to not share
their ideas with outsiders and non Alawite religions, however, more recently scholars have been able
