War Poems Their Ideas The poems, The Charge of The Light Brigade and Dulce et Decorum Est,
both deal with an idea of war. The writers both have the same viewpoint about war, but the way
that they articulate those ideas on paper varies. Through literary devices in the poems, the authors
show two different wars, but the same tragic outcome death. These two poems showcase how
people can have different outlooks on war, but in the end they all end with the same deadly
outcome. These writers, Wilfred Owen and Alfred Lord Tennyson, uses tone, metaphor or repetition,
and rhyming and diction to present a more concrete version on their perception of war. The... Show
The tone that Alfred Lord Tennyson created for this poem has an honorable and celebratory feel
to it for those whom were lost. The overall tone of the poem capitalizes on the his idea of war
and how we should be acting towards those who have given up themselves to hopefully makes
their country better. Wilfred Owen s Dulce et Decorum Est also created a specific tone in his
poem as well. His poem takes on a completely different tone though. In his version of a war piece,
Owen is showing us how war is bad and how much he feels that it is wrong, and how we won t
like the conclusion that results from them. This war poem, about the First World War, has a
more negative look on the actions of war. An example of this tone can be seen in the first stanza.
According to the Bloom s Literary Reference Online, The first stanza presents a scene saturated

exemplify this social critique behind a thin layer of fiction are Looking Backward by Edward
Bellamy and Herland by Charlotte Perkins Gilman. Both of these novels offer a critique to certain
aspects of American society during the time period, and do so in very similar ways. Each of these
novels, Looking Backward and Herland, depict utopian societies in order to fully illustrate the
issues that the authors see in their current society. Although the issues being addressed may be
different, the way Bellamy and Gilman discuss them contain numerous parallels. Ranging from the
cause of these utopian societies, to the mindset of the individuals living in them, both novels are
very similar in their approach to social critique of America. Even the differences between the two

Aztecs took over. It is one of the most visited archeological spots in Mexico. The Fall of
Teotihuacan was very sudden and was believed to be invaded by the spanish.
When the Aztecs found Teotihuacan they believed that is where it all started they brought in some

In class we spoke about how the aztecs performed sacrifices with human hearts to the Gods so the
sun would rise another day. Under this pyramid they found underground tunnels and rooms that
were most likely used for rituals. Gods then were fed and nourished with the sacrificed blood and

I have chosen to carry out my investigation on racism . The hypothesis I have set myself is Racism
is Wrong .
The reason why I have chosen Racism as a part of my investigation is because I have gone
through racial harassment and I feel that me being able to do this coursework will let me speak my
mind about racism and talk about it in more detailed manner. This means that I will be able to

Even if the racism is only psychological it can affect ones mental health. The victim can there
after suffer from depression thus being prescribed medication. Staying with the health issue,
attacks upon the victim are also very much unjustified. Physically attacks most probably will
leave the victim of the racism is hospital or in need of immediate medical attention. Once racism
is inflicted upon someone their way of life is changed drastically, they just can t lead a normal life.

Soccer And Cultural Identity
Most people call me Colby, but on the field i m know as number 40. Soccer has been a part of my
life since I was 3, my 12 years of experience have influenced how I act, what I eat and most
aspects of my life like who I hang out with and what I dislike. In the United states especially,
sports are a huge part of everyone s cultural identity. With all this in mind I would call my cultural
identity a soccer game. It can change in a blink of the eye but is consistent through life.My family
is like the other players, education is like the field and my hobbies are like the ball.
Just like a game of soccer you have to depend on your teammates, I depend on my family just like
my teammates. Everyone has their own family traditions or gatherings but our family is a little
different. Although we celebrate every christian holiday the same as you, the way we do it is
unlike anything you ve seen. As teammates your goal is to go to every practice and game, my
family is exactly the same. Practices are like small acts of kindness like my aunt going to my
soccer game. No she didn t have to, but they always do it as an act of kindness. Practices can go
from helping someone move to go to a game. But the big stuff like the games are the holidays we
