5. MUSIC VIDEO IDEAS
Song whats good by tyler the creator
Idea 1- starts with the performer on a stage alone, the
lights then turn on which then makes him nervous so he
runs of the stage. The shot then cuts to him driving crazily
in beat up old car whilst going through a field, the
performer then stops as he sees a pair of shoes on the floor
and gets stopped by the police, it then cuts to the
performer in a park on a swing a shot then takes place of
him gradualy appearing the have a clown outfit on whilst he
is till sat still on the swing, he then jumps of and the shot
cuts to him being in a room surrounded by mirrors which
then all fall down and smash he then procceds to keep
miming the lyric surrounded by broken mirrors which then
cuts to him outside a castle dressed as a vampire and then
cuts to him outside a zoo in stereo typical zoo outfit it then
cuts back to him being back on the stage starring into one
of the stage lights a car thwn crashes through the wall and
hits the performer then whilst lying on the ground next to
the car he carries on to mime the lyrics.

7. MUSC VIDEO ANALYSIS
Music video 1- witchbldes lil peep x lil tracy
•They use a vhs camera for a low budget effect but that
also sets the tone of the music video as can be seen in
this image
•They also throughout the whole video have the lyrics at
the bottom of the screen in yellow which really shows
against the dark tone and dark colours of the music
video
•They also use simple edits which although are very
simple and low budget they still really add the the style
and mood of the video as can be seen in this image when
they use this box edit

8. They also do a lot of close up shots of the artists and
they are miming the lyrics which really makes you get a
feel for the tone of video they are going for.
The video has a dark tone with lots of pink lighting and
effects
They also use a lot of hand held shots which at first can
be seen as amateur but in this video it really adds the the
style they are going for with the low budget but really
effective use of amateur ish shots and editing.
The performers really sell the song and the video as they
are constantly in the shots dancing or using hand
movements to really grab your intention.

•This music video is simple but effective as its soley
based on the performer himslf
•This music video has an interesting story as it was not
supposed to be the music video but was just something
the artist had filmed but was then used as the main
music video had not come out as planned
•In the music video it is very concentrated and the artist
himself and throughout the video is very shots of him
dancing in front of an amazing background
•The sunset in the background was a very big part of his
full album and was apart of various music videos for
songs on the album and is seen on the cover of they
album syre. It really sets the tone and its natural but
amazing look really gives you a feel for this very raw
video.

10. His outfit is also something which has a big part to play
in this music video as right at the start he is seen with a
various amount of chains and gold grills whilst also
wearing his own custom jeans and jacket.
The tesla in the background is something that also grabs
your attention as it is seen to have the bonnet the boot
and the doors open this randomness also adds to the
creative freedom which is put on display in the music
video as it is just an expression of how he felt or how he
imagined it would be. T is also used as the artist Jaden
smith is very eco friendly as is very interested and
committed to helping our planet for example he even has
his own brand of water which instead of using plastic
bottles he uses boxed water bottles.
Throughout the music video there are also many slow
motion shots where the artist is seen doing various
things such as dancing, swinging his chain and just
general movement this really reflects on the song as
even though it is a more upbeat fast elements it also has
its slower ones.

11. Music video 3- all girls are the same by juice wrld
 this music video is clearly high budget and has high level camera work editing
and editing
It also uses a lot of animated features throughout the music video.(shown in
images below)
a couple of times throughout the video there's a shot that goes from being out of
focus and transition into being focused this is a nice effect as it really makes you
pay attention to the image displayed. I think they use this because it is not very
commonly used in high budget videos as its so simple but in this video it really
suits what they were going for
Later on in the video they is a close up of the artists face which is turned gray and
then has a faded background which is changing color. They do this as at this
point in the song it slows down so it really fits the mood and tone of the song at
this particular point.
The use of the color red is used a lot throughout this song this could link to a few
things such as love or heartbreak as throughout the song he talks about how all
girls are the same and that he keeps getting his heartbroken. It could also
represent anger in the fact that because of the fact he keeps getting treat badly
and that he keeps getting his heart broken it’s a way of representing the anger he
feels because of this.

12. Music video 4- potato salad Tyler the creator ad asap rocky
The music is very focused on the artists and how they perform the song throughout the
music video and switches the focus between the two artists when its their part of the
song. Even though the other artist may be in the shot it still is more focused to
whoever's part of the song it is.
The beginning two shots of the music video are them stood together but in each shot
they show a different emotion as in the first shot they look bored and tired but in the
shot right after they are laughing and talking this is the emotion that follows through
the full video as they are constantly moving around and being energetic throughout the
rest of the video. Which really reflects the mood of the song.
There aren't many really hard or complicated camera shots instead it is mostly just
following the two artist around as they perform in each of the locations, the location
frequently used is them stood in front of the Eiffel tower or them in front of a large
building dancing around the little green car which is in the majority of the video.
They also throughout the video have the lyrics pooing up all over the screen sometimes
with pictures representing the lyrics, this is very simple and effective as it is quite
original in how simple it is as each lyric shown the will be a completely different font a
lot of the time but not all the. This could be seen as representing the randomness of
the song and how the song really has no meaning and is jut about random things and is
more about the flow and the style of song they are going for.
They also use some very low end editing which is used intentionally as the video isn't
meant to look amazing or have the best transitions or editing its just made to fit the
song and to be entertaining.

13. Music video 5- red roses by lil skies and landon cube directed by Cole bennet.
 This music video is every high quality and is a very planned video, directing the video was arguably the best music
video director of my generation cole bennet.
 It uses lots of sets, props etc. the most notable set is at the start when they are outside the campervan as this was
a reference to the series breaking bad.
 Lots of high end editing was done throughout and animation was also seen in this video, lots of different
techniques were used some are simple and some are complicated some of the noticeable more simpler edits were
duplicating as seen in the shot were they are stood on the campervan and it shows two of each person. Its these
little things that really add to the aesthetic of this video.
 the video is very focused on the artists themselves and there performance. This is good and it adds something
new to the a song ad its a lot easier to interpret a meaning as you can see the way they perform the lyrics which
may even change the whole meaning of the song just by the way the performance is delivered
 Lots of the color pink is used throughout as the song is mostly based on girls and romance. It also adds to the
mood and the aesthetic of the whole video.
 Things like drone hots and close up shots are used consistently throughout the video the lose up shots are used
more frequently, this is used to grab your attention and to show of somethings such as the artist themselves or
gesture or action they might be doing or performing which really adds a new element to the video itself.
 They also use things such as slow motion to reflect the tempo ad mood of the song and also the performers
themselves may act more lively when the song gets more energetic and upbeat or they might slow down look
more relaxed as the song slows down.

16. CONVENTIONS YOU PLAN TO
USE
I plan to use a lot of hip hop video conventions as the
aesthetic and mood they give of really suits the style of
song ive gone for there will be a performer who is lip
syncing, but will also just have other types of shots with
them in it. For some of my locations I am taking
inspiration from hip hop videos with the run down
abandoned look and also ill use some shots of the city I
live in at night, this is used in hip hop videos as well. Ill
also be cutting to the beat to really make the video sit
nicely on the music and to really make them feel like one
and to reflect the aesthetic tone and mood of the song. I
will also be doing some things that are not normally seen
in hip hop videos to create contrast an there will also be
shot with no people in them to add something different
to the video and to not have the same thing repeating
again and again.

Length of song is 3:45 but im using 2 minutes of it.
The song is about how now the person is getting
recognized and has money it's hard to trust people
around him and that he trusts no one as he will never
know if they want to be with him for the right or wrong
reasons.
The song is a mix of slow and fast pace, but the beat is
very prominent and is what the song is most recognized
for.

The video is going to be hard hitting and dark and a bit gritty
It will include a performer and maybe some vehicles because of the
sort of beat that is used there will be lots of cuts to the beat to
create that tension and build up for the drops which then
something big will happen. some shots will just be one single
person, there might be dancing but that is still undecided. The
video will start with a mid-shot of the performer wearing a black
outfit in a city at night it will then have various cuts switching the
location and matching the beat there will be performing elements
throughout like miming the words .The video will also have a shot
which has the performer riding a motorbike (TBD) it will mostly be
set at night in the city but will have contrasting shots as one shot
will be in an empty field with the performer on there own. I would
like to try get a shot in front of a green screen to then edit
something behind it but this may not be accessible. There will be
shots throughout that will include extras just to add to the feel of
the video. The video itself will be mostly dark with bright coloured
lights to contrast the night but some shots will be shot through the
day as it contrasts nicely and has a deeper meaning which fits the
song. The outfits will be colour coordinated to give it a music video
feel.

26. PRODUCTION OUTLINE
The intension of this product is just to express how I
visualize the song when I listen to it and to capture every
beat and to reflect the tone and emotion of the song to
show contrast between dark and light and to reflect what
the song is talking about. The way in which I play to do
this is to use various locations to show contrast and to
show that even though you changed location you are the
same, this is my own interpretation and idea on the
message of the song. I plan to use color to really show
this and use lighting and natural lighting to reflect the
mood. I will also use editing to reflect the pace mood
and tone of the song by cutting to the beat using slow
motion and much more. I will mostly be using my phone
to film but possibly a camera if I can get hold of one, I
see this as a challenge that I must try to overcome and
get the best out of what I have to use as the equipment I
have is very limited. To edit I will be using the macs
provided in college, the software I will use is premiere
pro and after edit and in the event that I have to edit at
home I will try get the best editing software I can get at
that time. I will be using various locations and there may
be extras in the video it will mostly be focused on the
performer and there action but there will also be shots
