4. FACTUAL TEXTS
1. Recount – retell a series of events.
Ex: journal, diary, newspaper article, letter,
historical recount, log, timeline.
2. Procedure – to instruct on how to do
something.
Ex: instruction, recipe, instruction, manual.

something occurs.
Ex. Scientific writing, spoken presentation
4. Description – describes the characteristics or
features of a thing or phenomenon.
Ex. Observation, speech, analysis

6. It is sequential or simultaneous use of variety of
media formats (people, text, visual, motion,
audio, and manipulative) in a given presentation.
Computer information can be represented
through audio, video, and animation in addition
to traditional media.

7. MULTIMEDIA
It comes from two Latin roots “multi” & “media”.
Multi means several or many, media means
middle.
It tells us that materials on the internet or in anywhere
involve several forms of communication to connect, that
is to be in the middle of the sender and receiver. It can
also be recorded for playback on computers, laptops,
smartphones, and other electronic devices.

MULTIMEDIA
Text Materials – important component used in written
explanation to deliver information in many multimedia
application. They are characters used to create words,
sentences, and paragraphs.
Graphics/Photographs – digital representation of non-
text information such as drawing, chart, photograph.
They give ideas in the images with the help of memory,
and one of the oldest forms of media.

Sound or Audio– any spoken explanation that
stimulates imagination and can be added and
combined with all types of media.
Video Presentation– clips or full of videos that
show information. They are collection of moving
pictures combined with audio files.

Forms of Animation– flipping through a series of
still images. It is a series of graphics that create an
illusion of motion to display pieces of information
with moving or still images and easily transferable.
