How to use MS PowerPoint
for Beginners

From your desktop,
click the Start Button.


Click All Programs


Click on Microsoft Office


Click on
Microsoft PowerPoint 2010


The MS PowerPoint will open.
Click on Design


Click on the THEME you like


Type your text here.


To add a new slide, click Home.


Click on New Slide.


Click on the layout you need.


To take a screenshot, go to your
desktop and open your browser.


Go to the website you like to
take a picture.


On your keyboard, press Shift,
then press Print Screen while still
pressing Shift.


Go back to the blank slide.


Click on Paste in the
Home Menu.


Your screenshot will appear.


Your screenshot is larger than
your slide.


To make the screenshot smaller,
click on the picture.


Points on the edges of the
picture will appear.


Move any of the points inward,
the picture becomes smaller.


To remove the unnecessary parts
of the picture, click on the picture.


Click Format under Picture Tools


Click on Crop


Four dark lines on each side of
the picture will appear.


Mouse over the dark line and drag
it to the point you want to remove.


You can do that to all the sides.


If finished adjusting the dark
lines, click on Crop.


The unwanted portion is gone.
Adjust your picture to fit your slide.


How to create a red arrow with
20 pts width


Go to Home Menu


Click on the arrow in Drawing.


The arrow will change color and your
pointer will turn into a plus (+) sign.


Position the pointer where you want
the arrow to start and drag to where
you want it to end.


To adjust the color and width of
the arrow, right click on the arrow.


Click on Format Shape.


A window will appear.


Click on Line Color.


Click on arrow down beside Color


Choose red


To adjust width, click on Line Style


Adjust width to 20 pts,
then click Close.


Now, you have a red arrow.


Now, you are ready to create
your slides.
