The Literature Of Climate-Induced Migration
Literature: Climate induced migration is not a new phenomenon that occurred abruptly; it has been an
adaptive strategy followed frequently by different people throughout history to withstand severe
climate conditions. Yet, because of the accumulation of climate hazards, many communities around
the world are highly likely to forcibly flee their lands searching safer zones. In this sense, Climate
induced refugees , is a term that is used to indicate individuals who forcibly flee their homeland
because of climate issues (McAdam, 2012). Although this phenomenon is gradually increasing, it is
still regarded as a marginal or peripheral problem despite its critical outcome. It may appear as merely
environmental; yet, it will generate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Bangladesh as an example, the tidal increase of water threatens citizens lives, pushes them to flee
their homes and undermine their resilience chances (Francis Maguire, 2016). Additionally, the
implications of sea level on coastal environments are predicted to be more critical, resulting in land
loss and abandonment of some islands and atolls with a necessity to relocate the local inhabitants in
other lands (Yotova, 2009). Therefore, it is crucial to consider how the mounting effects of sea level
rise do not solely push communities to abandon their lands, but also threaten their valuable resources
and undermine their resilience attempts. Moreover, The effects of sea level rise are irreversible and
pose in the long run, making migration the only adaptive solution (Piguet Pécoud, 2011). Thus, the
gradual submersion of many countries and island states will lead to a statelessness situation. Namely,
the affected population would suffer from deprivation of its statehood under the absence of a physical
land (McLeman et al., 2015). Furthermore, those ramshackle environments are susceptible to critical
consequences on areas such as tourism, water resources, food and fishing (Ashbindu et al., 2006).
Subsequently, the main concern is how the vulnerable states would cope with the tidal rise of sea level
that swallows their lands gradually as Hastrug Olwig (2012) suggested.

Gender And Class Expectations In Regency Society
Communication is effected by gender, status, and propriety in Prid and Prejudice because of society
and social conduct. Gender and class expectations in the Regency of the Victorian period were based
on a fixed social structure. In the novel, Gender controlled and restricted the lives of most people
abiding by them, mainly the women of the time period, who were often disempowered. Men were
expected to be financially viable through family wealth. Women were to remain passive throughout
their lives, marry early, and to support their husbands. Elizabeth, the second daughter in the Bennet
family, challenges the expectations of a women in Regency Society by being independent and
courageous. In the beginning of Pride and Prejudice, the expectations

Functional Model Of Rehabilitation
At the mention of rehabilitation, images of physical therapy, addiction withdrawal, and even prisons
flow through my head. In our modern time, rehabilitation exists with a good connotation, expressing
the idea of renewal or resetting to what is deemed normal or natural to our society. Merriam Webster
describes rehabilitation as the process of restoring an individual to a useful and productive place in
society through some form of vocational, correctional, or therapeutic retraining. Perhaps it s a reaction
to the Functional Model, in which society would view criminals, addicts, and handicaps as irrelevant to
the general progression of the economy. The idea that they need to be restored to normal as closely as
possible contains an undertone ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
N.p., n.d. Web. 05 Sept. 2016). In addition, the idea of rehabilitating addictive behaviour has existed
since the beginning of the 19th century temperance movement. It gave rise to our modern notion of
addiction and the duty of our society to alleviate the struggles of the addicts. This rehabilitation of
addicts would eliminate or obstruct the social decay which was believed to be a result of indulging in
a spirituous beverage. Here , a socio political model of disability reveals itself as the addicts represent
the minority group , but not only do they recognize themselves as part of the group, society recognizes
the group as a catalyst to social decay and produces rehabilitation as a cure for the problem. Although
rehabilitation has some selfish undertones represented by the sociopolitical and Functional models, it
aims for the care and restoration of the ill(mentally, emotionally, or physically) to a more comfortable

The Final Stage Of Management Design
Control is the final stage of management design, making sure the specific goals and objectives of the
team is met by all those who are placed within the organization to complete specific task. It is at this
stage that all members must perform the work that is within the organizations scope of business.
Controls can be strong and visible, such as are needed in a maximum security prison, or they can be
more relaxed and invisible, such as are needed in a group of volunteers working at the local food
bank. The four steps in the process of control in the Mainstream and Multistream managerial
processes according to Nuebert Dyck 2010 are Establishing Performance Standards, Monitoring
Performance, Evaluating Performance, and Responding ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This process is helpful in identifying needed changes in the input and conversion stage to maintain
quality products Mainstream managers are interested in high quality products at the lowest
productivity cost possible while maintaining good relations and organizational wealth (Nuebert Dyck
2010). In the Multistream approach managers use a value loop which helps to identify key
performance standards. Multistream process standards are used not targets like the Mainstream
manager. The Mulitistream manager uses the information system to help enhance, process, share, and
self monitor the dada. Rather than use a Top down approach the Multisystem manager is going to
expect that other help in these processes rather than have it trickle down hill effect and emphasizes
balancing multiple forms of well being for multiple stakeholders (Nuebert Dyck 2010). Nuebert Dyck
in 2010 describe the Multistream approach to the four step control process as looking at and
establishing standards in the value chains rather than value loops. The goal is to incorporate all
stakeholders goals however much of the time they are able to foresee potential delinks and the
potential un connectivity of those chains (p556). The Mainstream focus on controlling their employee
from top to bottom, the Multistream organizations focus on creating a system that allows the
stakeholders to

The Pig Man Short Story
PIG MAN There was a Pig Man, and he walked a Piggy Mile, He found a Piggy Sixpence against a
Piggy Stile; He bought a Piggy Cat which caught a Piggy Mouse, And they all lived together in a little
Pig House. Where are we going? Bobby asked. He had a twizzler in his pocket he was sure would
have grown stale by the time they reached wherever they were heading. Shut up, Jones commanded.
He strode a little ahead of the group, but turned to glare at Bobby. We re almost there. Where exactly
are we going? Al asked. He was the smallest of all the boys but the smartest. He was Mr Finch s
favourite student, and Jones was his least. Patty had been the one to suggest going out wandering.
Jones had remembered the abandoned field a couple of miles out from his house. He said he kept a
ball there for kick around and that they could play with it until it got dark. Bobby had been hesitant,
wary of his mother s warning to be home before six. But Jones was so excited and then he roped Patty
into it as well, and Patty always seemed to know what he was doing. His parents didn t impose
curfews on him, and Bobby envied this of him. His mother, on the other hand, was constantly
worrying him, telling him come straight home from school, to not talk to strangers, and to not go
anywhere he hadn t been before with her. Bobby was more than a little sick of it. He wanted to be a
normal kid, like Patty or Jones. They could go anywhere they liked, anytime they liked. Their mothers

Primary Neurological Brain Abnormalities And Individuals...
Introduction
There are primary neurological brain abnormalities in individuals with schizophrenia. According to
Fusar Poli (2009), schizophrenia is delineated by prefrontal activity and elevated striatal dopaminergic
functions. These elevations in striatal dopamine activity and prefrontal cortical dysfunctions (Fusar
Poli, 2009). Along with other abnormalities in white matter as well as, having been observed in the
right superior frontal gyrus, left middle frontal gyrus, bilateral parahippocampal gyrus, adjacent to the
right caudate head, right thalamus, left insula, left lentiform nucleus, left fusiform gyrus, and bilateral
claustrum (Antonius, 2011). The study of these findings may assist us to understand their role in the
severity of the schizophrenia disorder symptoms (Antonius, 2011).
This research paper will provide an a comprehensive look of this disorder by providing the essential
features, enhanced knowledge on neurological pathology, recent research on the field that aids in the
comprehension of the neurodevelopment of schizophrenia, demographics including, prevalence rates,
and gender differences, an extensive review of differential diagnosis, the use of anti psychotic
medication and therapy as forms of treatment, the etiology of the disorder from the biological and
cognitive perspective. Although the key pathological features are white matter abnormalities that

The NBA rule stated that NBA basketball players must wear some form of white shoes, no matter

were shell shocked. At the same time there was this feeling deep inside of the basketball community
that made them feel like those shoes would definitely fit their personality. Once again shoes flew off

did occur for Phil Knight was he had to pay off the NBA which fined Michael Jordan $1,000 for every

Thriller Album Analysis
Michael Jackson Thriller
Thriller is the sixth solo album released by Michael Jackson and is the follow up LP to Off the Wall,
which was released in August of 1979. The album was a response to the disappointment Michael felt
because Off the Wall did not receive the accolades that he thought it deserved. Off the Wall was the
best selling album by a black artist at the time, it reached number three in the United States, produced
two number one singles and would reached 20 million album sales worldwide. The album earned him
only one Grammy award. He thought he deserved more... because Off the Wall was such a big hit ,
and vowed so few nominations would not happen again, saying, You watch. The next album I do, you
watch. I ll show them. (Pratt, 2010)
Key Production Personnel
The album s producer was Quincy Jones and co produced by Michael Jackson who is also the featured
artist. Bruce Swedien served as the recording and mixing engineer, using the Acusonic Recording
Process. Matt Forger served as the Technical Engineer and Steve Bates the Assistant Engineer. The
record was mastered by Bernie Grundman. (Jackson Swedien, 2001)
Album s commercial significance The album turned out to be more successful than anyone could have

Affirmative Action Reality
The Reality of Affirmative Action Have you ever thought how our educational system works? Many
people believe that race has nothing to do with the way people view them and don t think that this
affects them in any aspect. Others believe that race is just something people overlook but in reality
that s what we have to discuss and figure out today. Under our constitution every person who is legally
able to be here has the right to be treated equal as everyone else. Why is that the way someone looks
or where their from affects the way people judge them. A system called Affirmative Actions has been
used to promote access in opportunities dealing with education, employment, housing, and
government contracts. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Now this example has been proven and researched so it is based of off facts. This leads us to believe
that this impacts in a negative way. The affirmative action is a type of discrimination in a way because
not all people benefit from it, so a lot of people are being excluded. Just because someone is not
necessarily caucasian it doesn t mean that they are not equal to them. Minorities are the most targeted
in these cases and no one does anything to help them because they believe that if they do they can get
affected by what might happen. So people have allowed that things like affirmative action to occur
without really knowing what it actually does and how this affects

Jesus Miraculous Birth, The Gospel Of Mark Essay
Though Mark is the shortest of the four gospels, it seems to be the most action packed of them all.
Mark also tells the events in more of a chronological order than the other gospels. Skipping the story
of Jesus miraculous birth, the gospel of Mark begins with verse one proclaiming that Jesus Christ is
the Son of God, then continues straight to John the Baptist preaching and preparing the people for the
coming of the Messiah. Only nine verses into the opening chapter, Jesus enters the scene. He is
coming to be baptized by John. After coming up out of the water, the heavens are opened. In Mark
1:11, God speaks from heaven saying, this is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Here we
learn from the Father himself that Jesus of Nazareth is truly the Son of God. Jesus soon goes on to call
his disciples and begins teaching with authority. People quickly hear about Jesus message, his
miracles, and who he claims to be. In Mark 1:23, Jesus confronts a man with an unclean spirit. Mark
1:24 says, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to
destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God. Again, in Mark 3:11 unclean spirits fall
before him and say, Thou art the Son of God ; and in Mark 5:7 they call him Jesus, Son of the most
high God. Even the demons know who Jesus is and they fear him. As Jesus continues to gain
popularity among the people, he is given many other titles. In Mark 6:3 the people of Nazareth call

Experiment 6
Blackwood Ballistic Pendulum
Jamal Wright, Zachary Floyd, Christopher Wilson
Abstract Our goal of this experiment is to determine muzzle velocity by two methods: 1) employing
uniform linear motion relations, the kinematic equations; 2) using the principles of conservation of
energy and momentum. In this paper, we aim to validate the law of conservation of momentum. We do
so by comparing results from two experiments conducted with a single ballistic launcher/pendulum
apparatus.
Hypothesis: The initial velocity of a ballistic pendulum can be determined using the law of
conservation of momentum. Momentum ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When the ball hits the ground then y = H (since the positive y axis points downward.) By measuring
the distance of fall and using that acceleration due to gravity, g, the time of flight t = Tflight, can be
calculated with the following transformed kinematic equation:
Tflight = sqrt(2H/g)
The muzzle velocity, vmuzzle, (also the intitial velocity vx0) of the ball after being fired is horizontal.
From a measurement of the range, R, and using the time of flight, the muzzle velocity can be
determined
Vmuzzle = Ravg/Tflight
The second method requires the determination of the muzzle velocity from the principle of
conservation of momentum. The momentum of the ball just before it collides with the pendulum must
equal the momentum of the ball and the pendulum just after the collision, pi = pf. To expand on this
we see:
Mvmuzzle + MV = (m + M)V,
Where m is the mass of the ball, M is the mass of the pendulum and V is the velocity of the ball and
the pendulum together. Note: the velocity of the ball and the pendulum, v, is initially zero. In order to
find the velocity of the ball and the pendulum just after the collision we will use the principle of
conservation of energy. Neglecting friction at the point of support of the pendulum, the gravitational
potential energy must equal the kinetic energy of the ball and the pendulum at the bottom of the

those values in the multitude of tasks that will come your way. Part of taking command includes an

Chavez decided to nationalize Cargill due to not producing a cheaper rice that is included in price

Reshaping DTV s Culture
Making Millenials proud DTV employees and customers by reshaping DTV s culture
TARGET: To attach a wow cool factor to DTV brand and make it more appealing to the Millenials,
representing employees and customers, to increase sales (by developing innovative products) and
reduce churn rate (by building customer centric DNA). This will, in turn, increase DTV s growth and
efficiency.
To enhance the connection between individual employees roles and the organization s strategy.
To constantly surprise customers with new products and turn them into proud DTV customers.
Whether to manage a company for growth or for efficiency is a classic dilemma, and the choice isn t
simple.
DIRECTV faces this challenge of rebooting its corporate culture by encouraging innovative projects
over the short term safe and profitable projects. PwC predicts that by 2016, almost 80 percent of its
workforce will be composed of Millennials and it will also represent a majority of consumers.
Therefore, it is an important challenge to look ahead and figure out what drives Millenials both from
customers and employees perspective. In order to appeal to Millenials, we need to have a wow cool
factor. For this, we should reshape the corporate culture by building customer centric DNA, provide
greater flexibility, promote diversity, make a difference to them and appreciate them.

Violence, Power, and Goals in the Hebrew Bible and The...
Violence is a means to an end. Violence is not something most humans resort to for enjoyment.
Violence is, however, the right thing to be done in certain situations. With violence, comes great
power. Power and violence walk together, hand in hand. When violence is exhibited, the power of the
individual is shown to those around him. In both the Hebrew Bible and The Iliad, violence is depicted
as a mode to reach goals. The reason for this is that violence allows an individual or a deity to flaunt
their powers, while they simultaneously achieve their personal and communal ambitions. Just like how
mortals have their own goals, deities also have an agenda. God, in the Hebrew Bible, has only two
goals: to have humans obey Him blindly and to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sacrifices are, in nature, very violent. Innocent blood is spilled to please the vengeful God. In Exodus
12, the Lord struck down all the first born in the land of Egypt, from the first born of Pharaoh who sat
on the throne the first born of the captive who was in the dungeon, and all the first born of the cattle
(Exodus 12:29). God did all that just because the Pharaoh stubbornly refused to let the Israelites leave
his country. The immense sacrifice of the first borns of man and beast was an act of violence that led
the exodus of the Israelites. The mass murder of the Egyptian people and livestock also proves to the
Pharaoh the great power of God, a power that would have remained unseen if not for the plagues and
the executions. For after the Pharaoh witnessed the death of at least one man or one beast in each
Egyptian s household, he said, Up, depart from among my people...Go, worship the Lord as you said
(Exodus 12:31). With this final act of violence, God helped reach the Israelites communal goal: to
leave the oppressive Egypt and to enter the liberal Promise Land of Canaan. Because humans were
created in God s image, it makes perfect sense that humans will use violence as a way to achieve their
own goals, just like what God does. In I Samuel, David had one goal during the Goliath episode: to let
this whole assembly (the soldiers) know that the Lord can give victory without sword or spear. For

way, I m Chas Newkey Burden, hello. I wrote the book Amy Winehouse, and as the title states it is a
biography about the one and only Amy Winehouse. As a character, unlike any other artist, it would be
a crime for me not to document and frame such a life. May she rest in peace. When I wrote this book,
Amy was at her prime. Having succeeded musically in both Britain and the US, she was living the life
her childhood dreamt of, minus the troubles of her turbulent life. As a child she was troublesome to
say the least. She dreamt of performing live, and it

Being Human In Book I Of Nicomachean Morals
Humans have come a long way. To think that the only way you could create a fire was to use sticks
and coal and now it only takes a lighter or a match to create a fire. To think that we as humans use to
think the world was flat and now where flying in space to different planets. As humans we have done
so much in this world but there are still a lot of question that still are unanswered and the biggest one
is what does it mean to be human?
There are a wide range of implications to being human. Being human means being an ordinary that
tries to understand its otherworldly presence. We are not human, we are basically being human. If we
were not to be conceived as people, we may have been conceived as creatures. In Book I of
Nicomachean Morals, Aristotle presents his contention by recognizing two sorts of finishes which
individuals make progress toward. He states, For the end is here and there a movement, in some cases
an item past the action; and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Allowing that character is given to us by nature, he makes the inquiry of whether we can really
characterize our own character. Ideals enables us to consummate what nature has given us as our
character. This suggests one s having a decent good character is totally the aftereffect of his or her
choice to take part in idealistic activities reliably. As Aristotle states in Book III of Nicomachean
Morals, Now the ethics, as we say, are intentional, since in certainty we are ourselves in a way
together in charge of our conditions of character, and by having the kind of character we have we set
out the kind of end we do (70). Although the choice or decision lies in the activity itself, great or
awful, Reason is the thing that aides us toward that activity. In this manner, we can perceive how
Reason is an immediate accomplice in the choice to be ethically idealistic if we take a gander at the
distinction between two of what Aristotle calls our Levels of

THE REVOLUTIONARY OCCUPATION OF BEACON HILL SCHOOL
El Centro de la Raza is a big, old wooden building that was formerly Beacon Hill School. Probably
the kind of place where the first Schoolhouse Rock videos were played. But, through occupation and

Effects Of Prohibition
Prohibition has made nothing but trouble (Al Capone). The Prohibition Era was significant to the
development of the United States. This was a decade of change and corruption. Prohibition had a
profound impact in the 1920s and on the world today through the effects of alcohol consumption.
Prohibition in the 1920s was remarkably controversial. The 18th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution,
also known as National Prohibition, banned the manufacture, transportation, and sale of intoxicating
liquors ( Prohibition par. 1). The manufacture and distribution of alcoholic beverages was prohibited;
however, the consumption of alcohol was not illegal. Evan Andrews states that, any wine, beer or
spirits Americans had stashed away in January 1920 were theirs to keep and enjoy in the privacy of
their homes (Andrews par. 3). This provision allowed Americans to own alcohol as long as it was not
distributed or traded with anyone. Most people only had a few bottles; however, wealthy drinkers
bought liquor store inventories. Additionally, the Volstead Act, also known as the National Prohibition
Act, provided guidelines that allowed sacramental wine and medicinal liquor (Blocker 237).
Sacramental wine was allowed to be used for religious purposes and medicinal liquor was available
with a physician s prescription. Overall, the provisions in the 18th Amendment allowed corruption to
evolve. Many Americans supported Prohibition in the early 1900s. The 18th Amendment was ratified

Olympic Swimming Research Paper
HISTORY OF SWIMMING IN THE OLYMPIC GAMES
According to the Oxford dictionary, the act of swimming is to propel one s body through water by
using the limbs or other bodily movement . Using this form to propel through water is now so
technical and refined that it is classed as an individual or team sport as well as a recreational activity.
One of the most popular sports of the Olympic Games today is swimming highlighting events in
different strokes like the butterfly, backstroke, freestyle and breaststroke. Competition is conducted
both in a purpose built swimming pool as well as the open water. Olympic swimming is one of the
most watched and oldest events, competitors from all over the world come together at a hosted city to

Not only paintings have been found but also written evidence referencing swimming. The first ever
book of swimming was written by a German professor of languages, Nikolaus Wynmann in 1538
called The Swimming or A Dialogue on the Act of Swimming .
The country that was first to take part in swimming both as a competitive sporting activity and as a
recreation was England in the early 18th century. The competitions with time gained popularity
leading to the first indoor swimming pool opening for the public in 1828, at the St George Baths,
London and operated by the National Swimming Society. Improvements made towards swimming as a
sport led to numerous swimming organizations such as Amateur Swimming Association of Great
Britain with as many as 300 regional clubs operating throughout England. By 1882 other European
countries had also established swimming federations with the first European amateur swimming
competitions in 1889.
The style of swimming or stroke that was majorly used was the breaststroke until1844 where two
Native American participants introduced the front crawl. Then in 1873 after winning a local
competition, Sir John Arthur Trudgen debuted a new hand over stroke freestyle, which is still
considered today as the most powerful strokes of all swimming styles.
The first women s swimming championship was held in Scotland in 1892 but wasn t introduced to the
Olympic Games until 1912. Men s

As well as discrimination, many older people suffer exclusion and social isolation. There are multiple
reasons that cause older people to become socially isolated including the loss of a partner, family
members moving away, living in rural and remote areas and chronic illness. Age discrimination can
intensify social isolation in a psychological sense just as much as poor transport, poor access to
appropriate housing, inadequate health services and living in isolated areas. Australia s aged care
system is funded and regulated through a complex set of arrangements, involving different levels of
government and a diverse range of stakeholders, including informal carers and formal care providers
from the not for profit (religious and charitable), for profit and government sectors. These
arrangements reflect, in part, the complexities inherent in the broader Australian health and welfare
system. Aged care services in Australia range from basic home support services in the community
(including assistance with house cleaning and meals) to more intensive care services delivered both in
the care recipient s own home and in residential settings. Government support for these services
occurs through a number of programs, subject to different regulatory arrangements, that have emerged
with the evolving roles of different levels of the government in the provision of health services,
welfare services and income

This movie accurately shows us that Dory has Anterograde Amnesia. One specific scene where this
disorder is displayed is in the beginning when Dory s parents are telling her what to say when she
meets someone ( I suffer from short term memory loss). After this the parents act as if they are random
people and start playing hide and seek. When the parents tell her to count to 10, she counts up to 3 and
forgets what they are doing. She then wanders off to a group of fish and their parents immediately
chase after her. This scene accurately displays Anterograde Amnesia since it shows us that Dory is
unable to remember what is going on and then wanders off elsewhere. Another scene where the
disorder is displayed is when Dory can t remember where her parents are as a result of accidentally
losing them and then Dory asks a couple of fishes that she needs help finding them, but forgets what
she said and repeats the same thing again. This shows that Dory s short term memory loss or
Anterograde Amnesia causes her to forget where her parents are and even makes herself look
awkward when repeating a question that she already asked. A third example of Dory displaying that
she has Anterograde Amnesia is when she is sleeping and then gets up to ask one of her friends a

Analysis Of Phyllis Wheatley s On Being Brought From...
On being brought from Africa to America by Phyllis Wheatley Twas mercy brought me from my
Pagan land, Taught my benighted soul to understand That there s a God, that there s a Saviour too:
Once I redemption neither sought nor knew, Some view our sable race with scornful eye, Their colour
is a diabolic die. Remember, Christians, Negroes, black as Cain, May be refin d, and join th angelic
train (Wheatley). The title, On Being Brought from Africa to America is nearly as blunt as Wheatley
could have gotten. This poem is clearly about the writer s thoughts about being transported as a slave
from Africa such as, Gambia or Senegal areas that were not considered to be a Christian land by
America s standards. Phyllis makes use of metaphorical dialect within the poem, for example, she
becomes converted from being a pagan to a Christian. The identification of the title additionally makes
known the concept of suggestion, or change. The title tells us about being moved from one area to
another. One would have observed that the word brought is utilized and implemented, not words such
as, kidnapped or stolen. There were no other phrases utilized to indicate the struggle that slaves
persisted, as they had been taken far away from their place of birth. Phyllis clearly uses a positive
tone. On Being Brought is the passive form that Wheatley utilizes, in order to make a direct statement.
She associates her coming to America as a worthy factor that brings her to the religion of

There are a few decent binary options brokers you can use. IQOption is just easier to use and is one of
the very few binary options brokers I trust with my money. Since I m open to new suggestions, I did

sexy user interface, but I had a bad experience. My money and bad experiences do not mix. I won t go

account. Update: Goptions has since ceased operations. To trade with IQOption, you only need a $10
deposit into your trading account to get started. I would suggest at least $500 or more otherwise the
Martingale strategy could be rendered useless. If you have to employ the Martingale too many times
too early, and you haven t grown your account or deposited the perfect amount ($500 $2000), you run
the risk of draining your account before you finally hit that winning trade. A $500 deposit is the sweet

The Concert At Alice Tully Hall
Throughout the semester, I went to several concerts, some classical in nature, some more popular, and
even a bit of house music made by DJs which was not really my style. One of the concerts that took
me out of my comfort zone the most was performed by a Juilliard Orchestra and conducted by
Juilliard faculty member, Jeffrey Millarsky.
The concert took place at Alice Tully Hall, a Lincoln Center concert venue. It is not as large as
Lincoln Center s opera house, but still a sizable space and it was quite full. The audience was
comprised mostly of older adults, many of whom were probably aficionados of classical music, or of
Lincoln Center shows in general. There were also some students there to support their classmates,
some of whom were talking loudly behind me about how they had fallen asleep at the last show Jeff
had conducted. There were also likely some family members who were supporting specific students.
For example, I noticed how important the night must be for the first violinist and her family as I
watched her shake hands with the conductor, and later the viola soloist, this was the culmination of
years of work. Then there was me, who did not really fit into any of the other categories of audience
members. Fortunately, it was nothing like a high school show where someone might notice you do not
belong. It was professional.
Even the room was such a professional feeling space. One of the loudly talking kids talked about how
he loved the way sound cut in Tully and

Over the past decade, sexual assault on college campuses has been overlooked due to failed
communication from the victims of the attack, which also allowed many schools around the world to

Daniel Goleman, the guru of emotional intelligence, identified self awareness as being made up of
emotional awareness, accurate self assessment, and self confidence. In other words, it is all about
knowing your emotions, your personal strengths and weaknesses, and having a strong sense of your
own worth.
People who lack self awareness find living a truly happy and productive life difficult. This can be
difficult to overcome, as many societies and cultures encourage us to ignore our feelings and emotions

The Election Of Presidential Election
As election season draws closer, we see the candidates debate more and more. These debates are a
huge part in the elections, but, there is another debate that has had the hot seat since the 2000 election
of Gore and Bush. In 2000, Democratic candidate Al Gore won the popular vote across the United
States, but, more controversy was created by the Republican candidate George W. Bush winning the
presidential election because he surpassed the 270 electoral votes needed to win. An outcry arose from
all across the country saying that the people s voices are not heard through the Electoral College and
that a true democratic country would allow for direct election of the President. So why did the
founding fathers not allow a direct election? And why hasn t the Electoral College been reformed yet
if it is so bad? The answers are simple. Our founding fathers didn t allow for a direct election because
they were afraid that the voters would be not well enough informed about the candidates, a reform to
the Electoral College would mean a new amendment to the constitution, and because in all actuality,
the Electoral College helps keep little states involved with the elections. With today s technology and
social media, the way candidates can reach voters far surpass that of how candidates had to reach
voters in the 19th century. So more voters should be better informed than that of voters in the 19th
century; right? Although this is a very true statement and that the information about

Essay on The Drowned and the Saved, by Primo Levi
In looking back upon his experience in Auschwitz, Primo Levi wrote in 1988: ?It is naïve, absurd, and
historically false to believe that an infernal system such as National Socialism (Nazism) sanctifies its
victims. On the contrary, it degrades them, it makes them resemble itself.? (Primo Levi, The Drowned
and the Saved, 40). The victims of National Socialism in Levi?s book are clearly the Jewish Haftlings.
Survival in Auschwitz, a book written by Levi after he was liberated from the camp, clearly makes a
case that the majority of the Jews in the lager were stripped of their human dignity. The Jewish
prisoners not only went through a physical hell, but they were psychologically driven under as well.

The prisoners are further degraded because they simply do not have enough to eat. They become very
haggardly and often have difficulty in judging each other?s age. Acquisition of a sufficient amount of
food becomes a daily struggle, and for those who do not rise to the occasion ultimately parish. After a
certain time period, it is impossible to survive unless you become an ?Organisator, Kombinator, or a

the bottom of the bowl after the ration and we hold it under our chins when we eat bread so as not to
lose the crumbs? (Levi, 33). A prisoner could only survive on a normal ration for around 3 months at
best. Starving to death was not the main reason to acquire an adequate amount of food. The selections
had to be avoided. If a prisoner was too weak to work, he was destined for the gas chambers.
In the book Levi mentions a man named Elias, who is a cunning thief and adept worker: ?? who is this

Lord Kelvin Contributions
William Thomson also known as Lord Kelvin, is a chemist that is famous for Devising the absolute
temperature scale, now called the Kelvin scale. He also formulated the second law of
thermodynamics. Thomson was given a good education at home by his own father. Thomson was the
second child out of four children. Also, his mother passed away when he was at the age of six.
Thomson suffered from heart problems at the age of 9 and even came close to death. Thomson s
biggest contribution to his area of expertise was the kelvin scale and the second law of
thermodynamics. Thomson knew that it would be easier to define extremely low temperatures
precisely. Therefore, Thomson made the Kelvin scale where he noted that molecules stop moving at
absolute zero and made and absolute temperature scale which is the kelvin scale where absolute zero
is 0 Kelvin. Thomson had a major role in making the second law of thermodynamics. The law states
that heat will not flow from a colder body to a hotter body. It was actually first formulated to explain
how a steam engine works. In conclusion, William Thomson, also, known as Lord Kelvin was a

John Feinstein s Cover-Up
John Feinstein in his book, Cover Up, strongly posits the point that all people should not just take
what is given, but to do further investigation to find out the truth behind all things in life. John
Feinstein uses author s purpose widely in order to get the reader to understand his overall them of the
book. In this book the NFL has come under some heat for drug testing and suspensions. Two young
reporters, age 14, choose to do their own investigation. Susan and Steve both decide to do their part to
expose the NFL and hold their feet to the fire about the massive scandal. On page 89 the one of the
characters are asking a reporter a series of questions about suspensions and other things concerning
the NFL. Now, the author s purpose in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Without this vital element in the book the entirety of the book and its qualities could not be held
together no matter how good the author could write. Foreshadowing, mystery, suspense, and even
justice could not work in adhesion without timing, fluency, and quality. I m kind of a magician. I wave
my magic needle on Sunday s and everyone plays. Eddie Brennan wouldn t have seen the last two
months without me. (92). The character Susan is still in her interview with her boastful reporter. He
says that many players take pain killing shots to get them through the winter months. By doing this
they are able to avoid checkups and secure their place on the starting line. The player that he is
referring to, Eddie Brennan, used illegal painkiller cortisone shots to get through the months of
February and January on a bad knee. This would allow him to keep playing, stay on the starting line
up, and fastened his contract for longer thus making him more money. This type of evidence is
revealed in just the right timing for both the readers and the characters and allow the plot to flow
smoothly and continue on. If this essential piece of evidence was exposed later then the characters
may not have come up with their arguments for their case when they expose the NFL in the

Test Taking Strategies
Test Taking Strategies
For 10 years, I was the one testing the students, teaching strategies and finding new ones to help
students study. Suddenly, I found myself returning to school and the anxiety, stress, lack of time, and
just all the unknowns seemed to overwhelm my life. The last couple of years I have learned to
incorporate strategies that work best for me, but there is always room for improvement and
strengthening. Learning, study and test taking skills are some of the most important things to have
when furthering your education. Upon reading Strategies for Test Success by Linda Anne Silvestri, I
was able to scrutinize some of my weaknesses, reevaluate my learning style, and look at some new
test taking strategies while assessing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By using this strategy instead of trying to memorize text out of a book, one should have to spend less
time studying and more information should be retained. (Kaplan Nursing: Lipponcott)
Test Strategies Not so Helpful
There are so many strategy recommendations for students. While each have good points, some are
more helpful than others. Strategies that don t seem as helpful to me are simulating actual test like
circumstances when studying for the exam, study groups, note taking by using the fancy systems.
These three strategies just seem to increase my stress level to the point I feel like I am not learning.
Simulating actual test like circumstances has just never worked for me as I usually don t pick the
correct information to test myself on and the important information gets left behind. Study groups
cause me too much pressure because I find that one or two people seem to be putting the study guides
together. This is a pet peeve for me; I don t mind sharing my ideas but don t expect me to do all the
work and then hand it to you. The final one that has never worked for me is taking notes by using one
of the many note taking systems. I find myself spending too much time trying to remember what
needs to be written where, organizing, how to fold the paper. I have developed my own crazy way of
taking notes over the years. Note taking is an area that I feel is individualize for each

War Dogs Movie Analysis
Bottom Feeders The film War Dogs (2016) tracks the rise and fall of two international arms dealers.
The movie starts with David, portrayed by Miles Teller, who is stuck as a masseuse with no real
opportunities in his life. His best friend from middle school, Efraim, portrayed by Jonah Hill, returns
to his life and gives him an offer he cannot refuse. Together they create a small empire but end up
getting in over their heads. This film shows the side of war that we rarely see. It shows how much war
is truly influenced by money, as well as showing who benefits off the profits. Hint, it is not the
soldiers. This directly ties into the American Dream. Additionally, many aspects of the film help drive
home this aspect of the American Dream. Things like setting and music are huge in this. These aspects
exaggerate points made in the movie and add extra layers. The film addresses the American Dream by
stating the reality that the American Dream centers around money and power; the film does this by
addressing the financial side of war via music, setting, and characters. The music in this film included
a lot of American classics and was a key element. Songs like Fortunate Son by Creedance Clearwater
Revival and Sweet Emotion by Aerosmith are classic songs that every American knows and they were
used strategically throughout the film. For example, Fortunate Son was used as Efraim and David
were fleeing enemy fire in Fallujah. They brought the term gun runners new life when

My job is also unpredictable. An emergency could come up at any time. If an emergency occurs in the
middle of the night; I am expected to attend to it. Thankfully, this does not occur very often. At this
point because of staff turnover; among other things, I have a never ending pile of work on my desk. I
realize that I cannot finish everything in one day. To combat my pile of work, I wake up early and go
in to work before most employees get there. It is very quiet and I can get a large amount of work done
without much interruption. Although I could work from dusk until dawn and still not be finished, I
have to choose a place to stop so that I can go home and tend to other obligations. Because I come in
early, I can leave earlier so that I am able to be home at the same time as my family. This way I can eat
dinner with them before I begin my schoolwork. At home, some of my housework suffers because of
my schoolwork. I am still getting into a routine, and I know that I will perfect it as time goes on. I
prefer to make sure that all of my school obligations are met earlier in the week if possible so that I
can enjoy the weekend with my family and do any housework that I have neglected during the week.
Of course, this is not always possible, but I think that if I can get the majority of my work done during
the week; I will not have to worry so much about the weekends.

Matlin. She lost all hearing in her right ear and 80% in her left ear, when she was 18 months old due to
genetically malformed cochlea. This essay will explore the life and contributions of Marlee Matlin

Summary Of The Operational Failures Of Whittaker s Chocolate
1.0 Introduction
Operations management (OM) is critical for the successful output of products and services. At the core
of OM are efficiency, quality and cost, which should be administered well to generate efficiency at all
levels of production (Kaplan Norton, 2015). But when a company experiences internal or external
challenges that impede the execution of the three fundamentals of OM, then the business may
experience adverse effects. This is what was experienced by Whittaker s Chocolate in 2015 when the
company s sales declined due to a drastic increase in the prices of chocolate that reduced the rate of
demand (McConnell Clayton, 2016). For a company that has established a brand that thrives on
economical and quality chocolate, the increase in prices reduced the sales. In addition, the lack of
communication with the customers added to situation as the prices had been stable for a while.
Although the increase in prices is attributed to a more refined taste through a supply of expensive
ingredients the company would have still maintained the cost and averted declined sales. This divulges
an operational problem to do with supply chain and customer relations. This report analyses the
operational failures of Whittaker s Chocolate and provides recommendations for improvement.

  • 2. The Literature Of Climate-Induced Migration Literature: Climate induced migration is not a new phenomenon that occurred abruptly; it has been an adaptive strategy followed frequently by different people throughout history to withstand severe climate conditions. Yet, because of the accumulation of climate hazards, many communities around the world are highly likely to forcibly flee their lands searching safer zones. In this sense, Climate induced refugees , is a term that is used to indicate individuals who forcibly flee their homeland because of climate issues (McAdam, 2012). Although this phenomenon is gradually increasing, it is still regarded as a marginal or peripheral problem despite its critical outcome. It may appear as merely environmental; yet, it will generate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In Bangladesh as an example, the tidal increase of water threatens citizens lives, pushes them to flee their homes and undermine their resilience chances (Francis Maguire, 2016). Additionally, the implications of sea level on coastal environments are predicted to be more critical, resulting in land loss and abandonment of some islands and atolls with a necessity to relocate the local inhabitants in other lands (Yotova, 2009). Therefore, it is crucial to consider how the mounting effects of sea level rise do not solely push communities to abandon their lands, but also threaten their valuable resources and undermine their resilience attempts. Moreover, The effects of sea level rise are irreversible and pose in the long run, making migration the only adaptive solution (Piguet Pécoud, 2011). Thus, the gradual submersion of many countries and island states will lead to a statelessness situation. Namely, the affected population would suffer from deprivation of its statehood under the absence of a physical land (McLeman et al., 2015). Furthermore, those ramshackle environments are susceptible to critical consequences on areas such as tourism, water resources, food and fishing (Ashbindu et al., 2006). Subsequently, the main concern is how the vulnerable states would cope with the tidal rise of sea level that swallows their lands gradually as Hastrug Olwig (2012) suggested. ... • 3. Gender And Class Expectations In Regency Society Communication is effected by gender, status, and propriety in Prid and Prejudice because of society and social conduct. Gender and class expectations in the Regency of the Victorian period were based on a fixed social structure. In the novel, Gender controlled and restricted the lives of most people abiding by them, mainly the women of the time period, who were often disempowered. Men were expected to be financially viable through family wealth. Women were to remain passive throughout their lives, marry early, and to support their husbands. • 4. Functional Model Of Rehabilitation At the mention of rehabilitation, images of physical therapy, addiction withdrawal, and even prisons flow through my head. In our modern time, rehabilitation exists with a good connotation, expressing the idea of renewal or resetting to what is deemed normal or natural to our society. Merriam Webster describes rehabilitation as the process of restoring an individual to a useful and productive place in society through some form of vocational, correctional, or therapeutic retraining. Perhaps it s a reaction to the Functional Model, in which society would view criminals, addicts, and handicaps as irrelevant to the general progression of the economy. The idea that they need to be restored to normal as closely as possible contains an undertone ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... N.p., n.d. Web. 05 Sept. 2016). In addition, the idea of rehabilitating addictive behaviour has existed since the beginning of the 19th century temperance movement. It gave rise to our modern notion of addiction and the duty of our society to alleviate the struggles of the addicts. This rehabilitation of addicts would eliminate or obstruct the social decay which was believed to be a result of indulging in a spirituous beverage. Here , a socio political model of disability reveals itself as the addicts represent the minority group , but not only do they recognize themselves as part of the group, society recognizes the group as a catalyst to social decay and produces rehabilitation as a cure for the problem. Although rehabilitation has some selfish undertones represented by the sociopolitical and Functional models, it aims for the care and restoration of the ill(mentally, emotionally, or physically) to a more comfortable and healthier ... The Final Stage Of Management Design Control is the final stage of management design, making sure the specific goals and objectives of the team is met by all those who are placed within the organization to complete specific task. It is at this stage that all members must perform the work that is within the organizations scope of business. Controls can be strong and visible, such as are needed in a maximum security prison, or they can be more relaxed and invisible, such as are needed in a group of volunteers working at the local food bank. This process is helpful in identifying needed changes in the input and conversion stage to maintain quality products Mainstream managers are interested in high quality products at the lowest productivity cost possible while maintaining good relations and organizational wealth (Nuebert Dyck 2010). The Mulitistream manager uses the information system to help enhance, process, share, and self monitor the dada. Rather than use a Top down approach the Multisystem manager is going to expect that other help in these processes rather than have it trickle down hill effect and emphasizes balancing multiple forms of well being for multiple stakeholders (Nuebert Dyck 2010). Nuebert Dyck in 2010 describe the Multistream approach to the four step control process as looking at and establishing standards in the value chains rather than value loops. The goal is to incorporate all stakeholders goals however much of the time they are able to foresee potential delinks and the potential un connectivity of those chains (p556). The Pig Man Short Story PIG MAN There was a Pig Man, and he walked a Piggy Mile, He found a Piggy Sixpence against a Piggy Stile; He bought a Piggy Cat which caught a Piggy Mouse, And they all lived together in a little Pig House. He was Mr Finch s favourite student, and Jones was his least. Patty had been the one to suggest going out wandering. Jones had remembered the abandoned field a couple of miles out from his house. He said he kept a ball there for kick around and that they could play with it until it got dark. Bobby had been hesitant, wary of his mother s warning to be home before six. But Jones was so excited and then he roped Patty into it as well, and Patty always seemed to know what he was doing. His parents didn t impose curfews on him, and Bobby envied this of him. His mother, on the other hand, was constantly worrying him, telling him come straight home from school, to not talk to strangers, and to not go anywhere he hadn t been before with her. • 13. Jesus Miraculous Birth, The Gospel Of Mark Essay Though Mark is the shortest of the four gospels, it seems to be the most action packed of them all. Mark also tells the events in more of a chronological order than the other gospels. Skipping the story of Jesus miraculous birth, the gospel of Mark begins with verse one proclaiming that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, then continues straight to John the Baptist preaching and preparing the people for the coming of the Messiah. Only nine verses into the opening chapter, Jesus enters the scene. He is coming to be baptized by John. After coming up out of the water, the heavens are opened. In Mark 1:11, God speaks from heaven saying, this is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Here we learn from the Father himself that Jesus of Nazareth is truly the Son of God. Jesus soon goes on to call his disciples and begins teaching with authority. People quickly hear about Jesus message, his miracles, and who he claims to be. In Mark 1:23, Jesus confronts a man with an unclean spirit. Mark 1:24 says, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God. Again, in Mark 3:11 unclean spirits fall before him and say, Thou art the Son of God ; and in Mark 5:7 they call him Jesus, Son of the most high God. Blackwood Ballistic Pendulum Experiment 6: Blackwood Ballistic Pendulum September 18, 2013 Jamal Wright Zachary Floyd Christopher Wilson Experiment 6 Blackwood Ballistic Pendulum Jamal Wright, Zachary Floyd, Christopher Wilson Abstract Our goal of this experiment is to determine muzzle velocity by two methods: 1) employing uniform linear motion relations, the kinematic equations; 2) using the principles of conservation of energy and momentum. In this paper, we aim to validate the law of conservation of momentum. We do so by comparing results from two experiments conducted with a single ballistic launcher/pendulum apparatus. Hypothesis: The initial velocity of a ballistic pendulum can be determined using the law of conservation of momentum. Momentum ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When the ball hits the ground then y = H (since the positive y axis points downward.) By measuring the distance of fall and using that acceleration due to gravity, g, the time of flight t = Tflight, can be calculated with the following transformed kinematic equation: Tflight = sqrt(2H/g) The muzzle velocity, vmuzzle, (also the intitial velocity vx0) of the ball after being fired is horizontal. From a measurement of the range, R, and using the time of flight, the muzzle velocity can be determined Vmuzzle = Ravg/Tflight The second method requires the determination of the muzzle velocity from the principle of conservation of momentum. The momentum of the ball just before it collides with the pendulum must equal the momentum of the ball and the pendulum just after the collision, pi = pf. To expand on this we see: Mvmuzzle + MV = (m + M)V, Where m is the mass of the ball, M is the mass of the pendulum and V is the velocity of the ball and the pendulum together. Note: the velocity of the ball and the pendulum, v, is initially zero. In order to find the velocity of the ball and the pendulum just after the collision we will use the principle of conservation of energy. Neglecting friction at the point of support of the pendulum, the gravitational potential energy must equal the kinetic energy of the ball and the pendulum at the bottom of the ... Reshaping DTV s Culture Making Millenials proud DTV employees and customers by reshaping DTV s culture TARGET: To attach a wow cool factor to DTV brand and make it more appealing to the Millenials, representing employees and customers, to increase sales (by developing innovative products) and reduce churn rate (by building customer centric DNA). This will, in turn, increase DTV s growth and efficiency. To enhance the connection between individual employees roles and the organization s strategy. To constantly surprise customers with new products and turn them into proud DTV customers. Whether to manage a company for growth or for efficiency is a classic dilemma, and the choice isn t simple. DIRECTV faces this challenge of rebooting its corporate culture by encouraging innovative projects over the short term safe and profitable projects. PwC predicts that by 2016, almost 80 percent of its workforce will be composed of Millennials and it will also represent a majority of consumers. Therefore, it is an important challenge to look ahead and figure out what drives Millenials both from customers and employees perspective. In order to appeal to Millenials, we need to have a wow cool factor. • 20. Violence, Power, and Goals in the Hebrew Bible and The... Violence is a means to an end. Violence is not something most humans resort to for enjoyment. Violence is, however, the right thing to be done in certain situations. With violence, comes great power. Power and violence walk together, hand in hand. When violence is exhibited, the power of the individual is shown to those around him. In both the Hebrew Bible and The Iliad, violence is depicted as a mode to reach goals. The reason for this is that violence allows an individual or a deity to flaunt their powers, while they simultaneously achieve their personal and communal ambitions. Just like how mortals have their own goals, deities also have an agenda. God, in the Hebrew Bible, has only two goals: to have humans obey Him blindly and to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Sacrifices are, in nature, very violent. Innocent blood is spilled to please the vengeful God. In Exodus 12, the Lord struck down all the first born in the land of Egypt, from the first born of Pharaoh who sat on the throne the first born of the captive who was in the dungeon, and all the first born of the cattle (Exodus 12:29). God did all that just because the Pharaoh stubbornly refused to let the Israelites leave his country. The immense sacrifice of the first borns of man and beast was an act of violence that led the exodus of the Israelites. The mass murder of the Egyptian people and livestock also proves to the Pharaoh the great power of God, a power that would have remained unseen if not for the plagues and the executions. For after the Pharaoh witnessed the death of at least one man or one beast in each Egyptian s household, he said, Up, depart from among my people...Go, worship the Lord as you said (Exodus 12:31). With this final act of violence, God helped reach the Israelites communal goal: to leave the oppressive Egypt and to enter the liberal Promise Land of Canaan. Because humans were created in God s image, it makes perfect sense that humans will use violence as a way to achieve their own goals, just like what God does. In I Samuel, David had one goal during the Goliath episode: to let this whole assembly (the soldiers) know that the Lord can give victory without sword or spear. For ... There are a wide range of implications to being human. Being human means being an ordinary that tries to understand its otherworldly presence. We are not human, we are basically being human. If we were not to be conceived as people, we may have been conceived as creatures. This was a decade of change and corruption. Prohibition had a profound impact in the 1920s and on the world today through the effects of alcohol consumption. Prohibition in the 1920s was remarkably controversial. The 18th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, also known as National Prohibition, banned the manufacture, transportation, and sale of intoxicating liquors ( Prohibition par. 1). The manufacture and distribution of alcoholic beverages was prohibited; however, the consumption of alcohol was not illegal. Evan Andrews states that, any wine, beer or spirits Americans had stashed away in January 1920 were theirs to keep and enjoy in the privacy of their homes (Andrews par. 3). This provision allowed Americans to own alcohol as long as it was not distributed or traded with anyone. Most people only had a few bottles; however, wealthy drinkers bought liquor store inventories. Additionally, the Volstead Act, also known as the National Prohibition Act, provided guidelines that allowed sacramental wine and medicinal liquor (Blocker 237). Sacramental wine was allowed to be used for religious purposes and medicinal liquor was available with a physician s prescription. Overall, the provisions in the 18th Amendment allowed corruption to evolve. Many Americans supported Prohibition in the early 1900s. The 18th Amendment was ratified on January 29, ... Remember, Christians, Negroes, black as Cain, May be refin d, and join th angelic train (Wheatley). The title, On Being Brought from Africa to America is nearly as blunt as Wheatley could have gotten. This poem is clearly about the writer s thoughts about being transported as a slave from Africa such as, Gambia or Senegal areas that were not considered to be a Christian land by America s standards. Phyllis makes use of metaphorical dialect within the poem, for example, she becomes converted from being a pagan to a Christian. The identification of the title additionally makes known the concept of suggestion, or change. The title tells us about being moved from one area to another. One would have observed that the word brought is utilized and implemented, not words such as, kidnapped or stolen. There were no other phrases utilized to indicate the struggle that slaves persisted, as they had been taken far away from their place of birth. Phyllis clearly uses a positive tone. The audience was comprised mostly of older adults, many of whom were probably aficionados of classical music, or of Lincoln Center shows in general. There were also some students there to support their classmates, some of whom were talking loudly behind me about how they had fallen asleep at the last show Jeff had conducted. There were also likely some family members who were supporting specific students. For example, I noticed how important the night must be for the first violinist and her family as I watched her shake hands with the conductor, and later the viola soloist, this was the culmination of years of work. These debates are a huge part in the elections, but, there is another debate that has had the hot seat since the 2000 election of Gore and Bush. In 2000, Democratic candidate Al Gore won the popular vote across the United States, but, more controversy was created by the Republican candidate George W. Bush winning the presidential election because he surpassed the 270 electoral votes needed to win. An outcry arose from all across the country saying that the people s voices are not heard through the Electoral College and that a true democratic country would allow for direct election of the President. So why did the founding fathers not allow a direct election? And why hasn t the Electoral College been reformed yet if it is so bad? The answers are simple. Our founding fathers didn t allow for a direct election because they were afraid that the voters would be not well enough informed about the candidates, a reform to the Electoral College would mean a new amendment to the constitution, and because in all actuality, the Electoral College helps keep little states involved with the elections. With today s technology and social media, the way candidates can reach voters far surpass that of how candidates had to reach voters in the 19th century. Acquisition of a sufficient amount of food becomes a daily struggle, and for those who do not rise to the occasion ultimately parish. After a certain time period, it is impossible to survive unless you become an ?Organisator, Kombinator, or a Prominent? (Levi, 89). Levi writes, ?We have learnt the value of food; now we also diligently scrape the bottom of the bowl after the ration and we hold it under our chins when we eat bread so as not to lose the crumbs? (Levi, 33). A prisoner could only survive on a normal ration for around 3 months at best. Starving to death was not the main reason to acquire an adequate amount of food. The selections had to be avoided. If a prisoner was too weak to work, he was destined for the gas chambers. In the book Levi mentions a man named Elias, who is a cunning thief and adept worker: ?? who is this man Elias.
