The Between Female And Female Urinary System
Problem/Definition
Microbes such as bacteria, viruses, or fungi enter the urethra and can cause a urinary tract infection. A
UTI can occur in different parts of the urinary tract such as the kidneys, the ureter, the bladder or the
urethra. They are more common in woman than in men. This is due to the females having a shorter
urethra. According to Balentine (2015), about 40% of women and 12% of men will experience a UTI
in their lifetime (p.1). It is because of the anatomical and physiological differences between the male
and female urinary system that UTI s are more common in women.
Background
Different microbes that infect the lower and upper urinary tracts cause a urinary tract infection.
Depending on where the infection develops the severity varies. If a patient is experiencing discomfort
while urinating such as burning, lower abdominal cramping, constant need to urinate, incontinence,
nocturia, or feeling generally unwell and achy, they may be experiencing a lower UTI (Robinson,
2013). Despite all these symptoms, some patient s may not experience any. A lower UTI involves the
bladder and urethra (McIntosh, 2014). E. Coli, also known as Esherichia coli, lives in the bowel and
anus. The bacteria E. coli causes 90% of urinary tract infections (Balentine, 2015, para.2). It is
because the urethra and anus are positioned so close together on the female that wiping from back to
front can pull the bacteria from the anus into the urethra, infecting the area (Karriem Norwood,

Rna Interference ( Rnai )
Introduction RNA interference (RNAi) is a biological process where a double stranded RNA (dsRNA)
activates the degradation of the sequence dependent RNA target cell, causing a posttranscrip tional
gene silencing mechanism or inhibition of cellular gene expression. 1 This mechanism was first
discovered in Caenorhabditis elegans in 1998 by Andrew Z. Fire and Craig C. Mello, where they
observed that the introduction of the dsRNA in the animal cell resulted in an inhibition expression of
the homologous gene, and this phenomenon opened new possibilities on modulat ing gene sequences
in the medical industry. 2 However, there are some major setbacks with the ongoing research of this
siRNA molecules as therapeutic applications, including a possibility of silencing the healthy genes
other than the target ones when the siRNA binds to the complementary mRNA strand. There are also
some studies that have shown that with the application of the siRNA as a drug, it produces some
unwanted side effects where it could be lethal if there s an overdose or can cause immunity to the
siRNA, leading to the question: is siRNA as a form of a drug for medicinal purposes actually safe?
Mechanism of the RNAi in action
The RNAi mechanism (Figure 1) is triggered with the introduction of the small interfering RNA
(siRNA) molecules via enzyme (Dicer) breakdown of the double stranded RNA (dsRNA), following
an incorporation of these siRNA into an RNA induced silencing complex (RISC). When the siRNA is

Annotated Bibliography On Data Encryption Standard
1.1 Data Encryption Standard
Data Encryption standard was one of the predetermined symmetric algorithms for the encryption of
data. DES was developed in early 1970s at IBM and based on an earlier design by Horst Feistel.
DES is one of the most and significant modern symmetric encryption algorithm, for many years DES
was known as secret code making . The algorithm was developed in early 1970s, but due to some
controversies the algorithm was published in January 1977 as an algorithm to be used for the
unclassified data. The data encryption standard, as specified is a block cipher operating on the 64 bit
data block. DES also uses a key to customize the transformation, so that decryption can be only be
performed by those who know the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Key mixing: the expansion word is XORed with a round key constructed by selecting 48 bits from the
56 bits secret key, a different selection is used in each round.
Substitution: the 48 bits result is split into eight bit words which are substituted in eight parallel 6 * 4
bit S boxes. All the S boxes, are different but have the same special structure.
Permutation (P): the resulting 32 bits are reordered according to a fixed permutation before being sent
as the output.
1.3 ALGORITHM
[1] In the first step, the 64 bit plain text block is handed over to initial permutation (IP) function.
[2] The initial permutation is performed on the input plain text.
[3] The initial permutation results in two halves of permuted block: LBlock and RBlock.
[4] Each of LBlock and RBlock goes through 16 rounds of the encryption process, each with its own
key.
[5] From the 56 bit key, a different 48 bit sub key is generated using the transformation.
[6] The 48 bit is XORed with the 48 bit RBlock and the resulting output is given in the next step.
[7] Using the S box substitution procedure the 32 bit from 48 bit input.
[8] These 32 bit are permuted using P box permutation.
[9] The P box output 32 bits are XORed with the LBlock 32 bits.
[10] The result of the XORed 32 bits is become the RBlock and the old RBlock becomes the LBlock.
This process is called swapping.

Dubuque Case Study Essay
Introduction (Jeremy Jensen) Dubuque, Iowa is a city of approximately 60,000 residents that sits on
the banks of the Mississippi River. Currently Dubuque is a diverse city that strives for complete
sustainability. However, it wasn t always that way recession hit in the late 80 s early 90 s. The town
was a homogenous community and relied on two major industries for employment a famous t shirt
coined the catchphrase Will the last one to leave turn off the lights? Mike Van Milligan was introduced
to the town in 1993 as the city manager and he was expected to lead the community in change. The

Van Milligan said he could only do this by establishing what he was about individually, then clearly
communicating the expectations on this vision to every employee within the city (Cohen, 2005, p. 65).
Van Milligan immediately started his change initiative within the city organization. He wanted to
make the government aspect of this vision more effective and efficient. To do this he cut a layer of
bureaucracy out. This layer consisted of seven upper management level jobs. By doing this, he
streamlined the organization and started building his guiding team, which consisted of the people that
needed to be a part of the change and those that wanted to change.
Readiness for Change (Jeremy Jensen) Van Milligan next required each department to justify their
existence based on whether they could do the job effectively and efficiently. All levels of employees
were encouraged to be involved in this process. According to Van Milligan it went over like a lead
balloon . Employees recognized something needed to be done, the economic stress was hitting home,
and they were seeing and feeling the urgency to change (Kotter Cohen, 2002, p. 10). Even though this
urgency existed, the employees were comfortable and resistant to the change. It really came down to

The Death Of A Beautiful Woman By Edgar Allan Poe Essay
Young, beautiful, and doomed; In several, if not all, works of Edgar Allan Poe, there is a not so subtle
theme that is found. One of the death and beauty. How is the death of a young woman romanticized
within selected works of Edgar Allan Poe? In such works as Lenore , Ulalume , popular Annabel Lee ,
The Raven , and short story The Oval Painter ,the death of a beautiful woman theme is prevalent and
strongly noted within context, word choice, and imagery. In the eyes of Edgar Allan poe, death,
especially that of a woman, to be lamented and mourned by a bereaved lover , is the most valued tool
to have and utilize when writing. In his own life, Poe was able to relate to the subject matter, as many
of his heroins are believed to be based upon his wife Virginia, who had died at a young age.
Unraveling the methods to how Poe romanticized death of young women in his literature might give
insight to not only Poe s life, but humanity in general.. For context, Poe is known to set up several
instances to which a death of a beautiful woman is either inevitably played out, or said death is being
lamented upon. Often times it is the narrator, unnamed, written to mourn, or speak on the behalf, of a
dead woman, to which had significant value to them. Either a lover, signifiant other, what have you,
the mourner has romantic ties to the deceased, thus creating the relationship between the living and the
dead. With Lenore , the poem has two separate speakers, and is set

Mathew V Eldridge By George Eldridge
On account of Mathew v Eldridge, George Eldridge started the demonstration in District Court to
challenge the protected legitimacy of the managerial systems instituting by the Secretary of Health
Education and Welfare for instituting whether there exists a proceeding with sick wellbeing justifying
a beneficiary to Social Security Disability (SSD) assistances. Subsequently Eldridge was advised that
his assistances would end without a prospect for a previous hearing. Eldridge completed it, specifying
that his situation had not gotten better. The office then acquired reports from his specialists, and made
an unconfirmed decision that his disability had stopped. Eldridge was told of the proposed end, and
prompted that he could ask for extra time to submit extra data with respect to his condition. Eldridge s
transcribed reply questioned one portrayal of his condition, and showed that the office as of now had
enough data to verify his disability. The made its last decision to end assistances and told Eldridge that
he could look for reevaluation within about six months. Eldridge depended on Goldberg v. Kelly
(welfare advantages case) to back his dispute that it was unlawful to end his SSD assistances without a
pre termination hearing. The District Court held that Eldridge must be allowed a pre end hearing,
asserted by the Court of Appeals. An intelligent heart acquires knowledge, and the ear of the wise

Use of Magical Realism in Chronicle of a Death Foretold...
Use of Magical Realism in Gabriel Garcia Marquez s Chronicle of a Death Foretold
Magical realism is clearly present throughout Gabriel Garcia Marquez s novel Chronicle of a Death
Foretold. Magical realism is the juxtaposition of realism with fantastic, mythic, and magical elements.
A secondary trait was the characteristic attitude of narrators toward the subject matter: they frequently
appeared to accept events contrary to the usual operating laws of the universe as natural, even
unremarkable. Though the tellers of astonishing tales, they themselves expressed little or no surprise.
Obviously the most concise definition of magical realism is that it is the combination of magical and
real elements. The magical elements that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The bride was given a chest with table settings in pure gold for twenty four guests. They also brought
in a ballet company and two waltz orchestras. (44)
This is clearly exaggeration because there is no doubt that the small poor town could not afford such
lavish gifts. Pedro saying that the pain in his groin had reached his throat and how he could not sleep
for eleven months are signs of magical realism. The narrator said that he believed him when he said
these things.
He was carrying a suitcase with clothing in order to stay and another just like it with almost two
thousand letters that she has written him they were arranged by date in bundles tied with colored
ribbons, and they were all unopened.
No person writes someone two thousand letters with reply let alone without one. This is ridiculous but
we accept it as truth because of Marquez s mastery of magical realism.
Chronicle of a Death Foretold has many humorous parts mostly because they are ludicrous. These
parts are magical realism because the suspend belief through humor.

Importance Of Biblical Worldview
Wolters writes in his book, Creation Regained, that a worldview is almost essential to human beings
because we cannot live without belief and guidance, which a worldview serves as (Wolters, 76). As
Christians, we must have a biblical worldview, and in order to have a biblical worldview, it is critical
for Christians to understand and discern structure and direction. Structure and direction are the main
biblical themes, which Christians use to reform and renew every sector of their lives.
I. Structure Structure is one aspect that defines an individual s worldview. Wolters defines structure as
the essence of a creation that God placed in His creational law (Wolters, 682). It does not change
despite human s perversity. For Christians, it is necessary to discern and understand structure since it
is in all aspects of society, and it serves as a standard in all those areas. It acts as an anchor that
provides definition and places boundaries and limits. As an example, a structure in government
defines what it is supposed to do and places boundaries and limitations for it to run like a government,
not like a school or a business. In a way, structure is God s mercy because not only does it set a limit
for creations, but it also sets a limit on the enemy and prevents its dominion and bondage. Structure
helps us to think about the questions in this world in a different perspective. It enables us to think in a
Godly, scriptural perspective, which will serve as a guideline for us to

How To Be Better If School Start Later
I am sending this to you, because I go to school myself. I always am so tired throughout the day. I am
mostly tired in the morning and late afternoon though. This might be different if school started later.
This would allow me to stay up later at night to do homework, and get more sleep to be awake for the
next day. I could then pay more attention in class, be more awake all day, and feel better during and
after school. If I were to pay attention more in class it would help me get better grades, which would
get me into good schools, and eventually a good job. That is one reason why it would be better if
school started later. Another would be, if I were to be more awake all day not only would it help me
during school, but my activities would

Recycling As Puerto Rico s New Economy
Garbage To Dollars:
Recycling As Puerto Rico s New Economy
Puerto Rico s Economy
Before we delve into the viability of recycling becoming Puerto Rico s economy of the future it is
imperative to understand the current status of the commonwealth s economy. Puerto Rico is currently
experiencing an economic crisis. In the midst of a 10 year recession, it is now $72 billion in debt. The
unemployment rate is currently 11.8 compared to 6.6 in Alaska, which has the highest unemployment
rate of any state. The island also has a poverty rate twice that of America s poorest state, Mississippi.
In a CNN Money article titled Why Puerto Rico s economy is in a death spiral by Patrick Gillespie the
author explains that despite Puerto Rico having a similar population to that of Connecticut, 3.5
million, it carries the same debt load of New York State, 20 million. Gillespie believes that the
problems stem from massive government overspending, a big dependence on debt and a costly,
inefficient energy system. The Puerto Rican government has not been able to grow the economy for
years leading to a rise in unemployment, business moving away from the island, and Puerto Ricans
moving the United States for employment opportunities. Unlike other islands in the Caribbean, Puerto
Rico imports crude oil to generate electricity for its residents, which results in a very costly process.
Other islands are using a combination of solar and wind power, along with natural gas and oil. The

Rhodesia American Revolution
Around the start of 1922, The British South African Company ended. The white European settlers
were presented with the choice of the Union of South Africa or a separate colony included in the
British empire. Rhodesia rejected the offer of the Union of South Africa, and the colony joined the
United Kingdom. Although Rhodesia made its own decisions, the United Kingdom had the right to
veto any action. In an effort to bring beneficial resources to the country, Southern Rhodesia joined a
Federation between Rhodesia and Nyasaland. Along with Southern Rhodesia, Northern Rhodesia left
the federation as well as Nyasaland. After much crisis, the Central African Federation ended. As black
disagreement to colonial rule grew, the Zimbabwe African People s Union (Zapu) and the Zimbabwe
African National Union (Zanu), nationalist groups, emerged. The aggravation in African populations
increased when the United Kingdom acknowledged Northern Rhodesia and Nyasaland as independent
countries. Even though the Europeans in Rhodesia did not listen, the African population still
demanded increased participation in political matters. The Prime Minister, Ian Smith, a white settler,

Reasons For The Death Of Romeo And Juliet
Romeo and Juliet are a play based on two star crossed lovers who ended in tragedy. Love, Irrational
thinking and the family feud among the two households along with Tybalt provoking fights, and Lord
Capulet forcing Juliet to marry Count Paris whom she did not want to marry. The three main reasons
for the death of Romeo and Juliet are the characters Lord Capulet and Tybalt as well as timing and fate
of all the events and confrontations leading up to their deaths. Lord Capulet forced Juliet into a
marriage that she had no say in and was only to the benefit of her father. Tybalt provoked many fights
with both Romeo and Mercutio his friend, in turn, eventually killing Mercutio. Romeo then kills
Tybalt worsening Romeo and Juliet s relationship by pulling them apart. Finally, the feud among the
two households from the get go prohibited their relationship. All in all, these three aspects of the play
lead to the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. Lord Capulet and Lady Capulet, the father and Mother of
Juliet were the first decisive factor in pulling apart Romeo and Juliet. The parents of Juliet constant
mission to court her to Count Paris affect Juliet in many ways. It gave her hatred for her father and
mother as well as hurting Romeo and Juliet s marriage. Lord Capulet put stress and unwanted tension
between the two lovers in turn affecting their decision making ability. Although unknown to him, Lord
Capulet greatly affected Juliet s mental state as well. She was constantly,

The Discovery Of The Traditional Orthodox Form Of...
Gnosticism can be defined as the mystical perception of knowledge and was considered to be a heresy
that was condemned by those who followed the traditional Orthodox form of Christianity. In the
second century the movement of Gnostic Christianity occurred; it is also referred to as a Christian sect
(Carus). Though people viewed Gnostic Christianity as a sect, it has never been denied that
Gnosticism is older than Christianity and the relation and importance between the two groups have
never been acknowledged (Gnostic Discoveries). Since the discovery of texts found at Nag Hammadi
which presents Jesus as a Gnostic teacher, the connection between the two groups has grown
exponentially, and Paul Carus the author of The Monist even believes that Christianity is a branch of
Gnosticism. Marvin Meyer a professor of Bible and Christian studies, has found that the discovery of
the Gnostic texts allows scholars to get a deeper understanding of Christian teachings and relate the
findings to biblical texts (Gnostic Discoveries). It is said that Gnosticism formed when early
Christians did not agree with the Old Testament and that Gnosticism was another way for them to
understand Jesus teachings, which is why there are differences between Orthodox beliefs and Gnostic
beliefs (Mansager). In Gnosticism, Jesus, instead of being looked at as a human, is only looked at as a
divine being and the divine being presents the key to reaching salvation. In line 39 of the Gospel of

My Leadership Philosophy Essay
My Leadership Philosophy consist of three major parts that can be sub divided into many smaller
parts. As a Non Commissioned Officer I know that the mission and the welfare of my Soldiers are my
main priority and I will instill that. It is my responsibility to ensure that my Soldiers are also guided to
success. I believe that there are three major parts of Leadership, dedication and hard work, honesty

instill in them the value of hard work and dedication. I believe that when you make a commitment to

another person is crucial. As a leader, you need to be able to relate and understand your Soldiers so
that they feel comfortable to talk to you, and confide in you. Then there is no reason to lie and be

method. All 14 students in my class, as well as the teacher were seated around the oval, wooden table.
The Harkness discussion is a learning method originated in Phillips Exeter Academy to discuss ideas
and topics in a environment where everyone is encouraged to participate. It is a student led, open
minded discussion with minimal interaction from the teacher.
During the Phillips Exeter Academy 5 week summer course, Project Exeter: A Greener Earth , this
course focuses on 3 areas: Why Art?, Alternative Energy Sources, and Advocating Change.
Throughout the course, all of my classes required the Harkness discussion. I thought that it was
extremely challenging to have the Harkness discussion as the learning method is totally different to
what we do in school, where we would just listen to the teacher and raise your hands to participate. In
the Harkness discussion, we don t need the teacher s permission to talk, we don t have to raise our
hands either, you can just participate whenever you want to, this gives us a chance to contribute ideas

All corporations should be open to gay marriage because it...
All corporations should be open to gay marriage because it opens more possibilities for marketing and
clientele. In the ad for Smirnoff from July 2013, there was a clear stance in the support for gay
marriage and the news traveled fast. Shown in the ad are three pairs of drink combinations; two
martini glasses, two tumbler glasses and a martini tumbler combination. The ad was simple, eye
catching and genuine yet still tied back to the brand. The ad is one of few that supports same sex
couples through it s creative symbolism and other corporations should do the same. Although it s not
many, a few large companies have been reported to be supportive of gay marriage. Some companies

If it s profitable too, so? Then it s win win. As transparency becomes the norm (and it will be more
and more so), the usual marketing gloss will stop working. So brands, and the the people who run
them and corporations that own them, will need to stand for something more. Many already do,
through lobbying, etc. So they are indeed involved in the civic issues at hand even if they claim their
brand is not. In order for a corporation or publicly known brand to take a stance or have an opinion on
something, they must test the devotion of their buyers and supporters. Unfortunately, not all
businesses will be able to keep their clientele and it will create a huge loss of profit. Taking a stance
can mean entering uncharted waters for many brands. A cross functional team of key stakeholders and
senior leadership should make these decisions together in line with core company values. In each and
every situation, when a company decides to chose a side, there is negative feedback from multiple
parties, from the anti gay consumers, to the religious supporters who feel like if they purchase product
from one of these companies that dont believe the same things they do that it means they now are in
agreement, but that is not the case. If you are friends with a homosexual, it doesn t mean you are now
homosexual or that you are going to run down the streets flying rainbows behind you. It just means
they are important to you or you enjoy their company, just as

Buddhism In China

Origin of Buddhism in China
Over a long period of time, Buddhism has been an important part of Chinese culture dating all the way
back to the Han Dynasty. It was originally apart of Indian culture but on would move to China and
become a major part of Chinese life. These cultural interactions that became regularly between China
and India affected the people first. The Indian religion most likely was brought by the Silk Road. The
Silk Road was an area that would be ideas, culture, and good could be exchanged, so most likely the
religion people encountered a traveler or a merchant. The common people were the first to realize the

These two dynasties emphasized the importance of Buddhism and they centralized everything that
Buddhism was about through the government. By having this religion centralizing the government and
shaping society people would form a conscience shape by Buddhism. Also once Buddhism shaped
everyone in the society this would continue for generations and this would be a major part of the
educational system. The government would make the effort to require all Buddhist practices and
rituals. One of the most important things that developed during these time periods and both dynasties
were the school systems. The schools were strictly for Buddhism and Buddhist teachings, some
examples are the Tiantai, Huayan, Chan, and Pure Land schools. All of these schools were full of
children who wanted to learn Buddhism but also there were adults and new people who wanted to
learn the religion. Another part that made Buddhism successful during this time period was that the
state or government control the monasteries rather than the people. By the government having control
over all of the monasteries they could control all Buddhist activities that were to be done and control
times of worship. They could implement their own practices that they. Believed that the people should
take on but also they could take out things that they didn t want the people to do in their worship. By

Adult Education Policy Analysis
In terms of policy development, an educational issue that is always changing each year is adult
education. The adult leaner can be one the trickiest populations to educate, because adults come from
many different backgrounds. In my opinion, adult education starts when a student beings their
educational career in undergrad, and continues with post bachelor degrees, work place environments,
and even at home.
According to Kristen Caschera, the three most significant challenges an adult learner faces are
balancing school and life responsibilities, accessibility, and cost (Cashera, 2013). This is an issue in
policy development because in order to run an effective educational program, it must need to meet the
needs of an adult learn, focusing on

Reflection On Psych Clinical
On November 2, 2015, I went to my psych clinical at BHH. I was assigned to the adolescent floor for
the second time this semester. I was eager to go back on this floor because I found it very interesting
the last time I was there. I got the opportunity to go to breakfast with the adolescent patients. I initially
thought that they would not want to talk to me, just because I was in my white attire. It took the
patients more than half the time to warm up and start to feel more comfortable talking to us. A lot of
the patients wanted to know what college was like, if it was hard, and is it expensive. They became
very talkative and wanted us to know what their plans were when they got out of this department.
When breakfast was over, the patients went back to bed and I looked into what patient ... Show more

Seven Years War Causes
The Seven Years War, or The French and Indian War as it has been called in North America, was
fought from 1756 1763 between the French and the British. The primary underlying cause of the war
was control of land used in the lucrative fur trade. Both the French and English wanted to profit from
selling the popular pelts of the American beaver and otter. French and British settlers gradually
expanded until there were many lines of friction that caused disputes. One of the immediate causes of
the war was the Battle of Fort Necessity in 1754. Days before the battle, George Washington was sent
by the British to insist that the French vacate an area around modern day Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania,
and to use military force if necessary. They refused,

The American author, teacher, and mythologist, Joseph John Campbell, is universally known for his
work in comparative folklore and culture. His studies led him to discover the pattern, journey of the
hero. The sequence consists of three stages and exists in many dealings with Greek mythology as well
as current popular culture. A modern example of the occurring cycle is the 2001 production, Harry
Potter and the Sorcerer s Stone. In the film, an orphaned young boy named Harry Potter is invited to

Harry s departure from his old life is evident once he steps on to Platform Nine and Three Quarters to
board the Hogwarts Express (Harry Potter and the Sorcerer s Stone). Leaving his previously known
home is not difficult because of the ten years of neglect that occurred in the Dursley household. Harry
has only been in two magical places and he already feels more comfortable than ever. Now that he has
crossed over to the hidden world of magic, he is ready to embark on his adventure.
Soon after entering Hogwarts, Harry must face a road of trials which will eventually lead him to
achieve his unlikely treasure. While roaming the halls after curfew, Harry receives detention in the
forbidden forest, and comes face to face with the Dark Lord. Other obstacles come to place when
Harry travels down the trap door into the chambers; such as devil s snare, a human wizard s chess
game, and the room of keys (Harry Potter and the Sorcerer s Stone). The series of tests make Harry s
mission difficult; however, the knowledge he gains from the unsuccessful trials bring him closer to his
main goal. These minor bumps in Harry s journey strengthen him emotionally and physically,
readying him to defeat the traitor at the end of his succession of tests. Unexpectedly, the betrayal
comes from the quivering Professor Quirrell who voluntarily gives up his body to the Dark Lord.
Harry sees himself in the mirror and realizes he is magically in possession of the Sorcerer s Stone.

Approaching Nathaniel Hawthorne Insight
Nathaniel Hawthorne wrote one of the most studied short story in literature, Young Goodman Brown .
This short story is widely use because of the deep meaning and strong internal attachment it has with
the reader. Nathaniel Hawthorne was born in Salem, Massachusetts his family had been early settlers,
one of his great grandfather was a judge during the Salem witch trials and had twenty five women
killed. Hearing his great grandfather talk about this subject made Hawthorne both obsessed and a little
ashamed for what his family has done during the Salem witch trials. Hawthorne put those feelings into
his stories which in reality explore what the events that happened in the puritans life style. As stated
before Nathaniel Hawthorne was born in Salem, Massachusetts 1804, and his family were original
settlers to Salem since colonial times. Hawthorne s father died when he was four, (Approaching

relatives recognized Hawthorne s literature talent and financed his education at Bowdoin College. At
Bowdoin College Hawthorne met Henry Wadswort, who would go to be a famous poet, and Franklin
Pierce, who would later on be the President of the United States. After graduating, Hawthorne lived at

Shadow Of The Colossi Essay
You take control of a young man called Wander who has brought the body of young women called
Mono to a temple situated in the forbidden lands. Wander is seeking an entity called Dormin who
possess the ability to bring back her soul from the dead. The Dormin agree to Wander s request on the
condition that he destroys the 16 Colossi that are holding the Dormin captive. Wander agrees to the
request and so begins his journey across the forbidden lands.
To find the Colossi, you need to raise your sword above your head while in a sunlit area which reflects
the light pointing you in the right direction. From there you can hop on your horse Agro and gallop to
each location. Consequently, although Shadow of the Colossus is an open world game, aside from the
Colossi and a few lizards you can eat to gain stamina, there is nothing in the world to interact with.
Essentially you re tasked with 16 individually boss fights.
Gameplay
Upon meeting the first few Colosi, each of them invokes a sense of fear predominantly due to their
imposing demeanour. All of these massive hulking beasts, are covered in fur and stone, which you ll
use to mount and then climb to find their specific weak spots. By thrusting your mythical sword into

The Impact Of Gold On The City Of Potosi
The Impact of Silver
The city of Potosi, which is now modern day Bolivia, was once a vast mining town located in the
Andean highlands in the mid 1500 s. This town was the world s leading producer of silver; the
mountain contained enormous amounts of silver that then created many opportunities for many
different people all around the world. The population of Potosi at this time was around 160,000 large
enough that it was comparing to that of cities like London and Amsterdam. This great mountain
supplied many people with all sorts of different jobs. This was a very dangerous and fatal job for the
people and many ended up dead or injured from working in the mines. Once inside, they spend the
whole week in there without emerging, working with tallow candle. They are in great danger inside
there, for one very small stone that falls injures or kills anyone is strikes. If 20 healthy Indians enter on
Monday, half may emerge crippled on Saturday (Strayer614). Mining in this mountain was very risky
and you never knew if you would survive the day or make it out of mine safely. Once the silver was
mined from the mountain in Potosi it was sent off to many different places all around the world.
Mexico, the Philippines, China, and Japan were all places that silver was exported to. But, the main
destination of this silver was to Spain. The Spanish used this silver for many different things. In Spain
itself, which was the initial destination for much of Latin Americas silver, the

Hally s Optimism In Master Harold And The Boys
Some people in the world may view a glass half empty, and some half full. This can be used to tell a
lot about somebody. Throughout the play Master Harold and The Boys Hally and Sam s characters are
introduced, and there are numerous times when Sam s positivity will outshine Hally s negativity, or
vice versa. Hally s pessimistic attitude shows a clear juxtaposition to Sam s optimism. This is seen
through Sam trying to make sure Hally has something good in his life to remember, Hally being
verbally negative about the comic books, later on physically and verbally attacking Sam, and Sam
attempting to stay calm and positive. There are not many of Hally s childhood memories shown

After having Hally attack Sam, Sam manages to stay calm through it, and in the end, he ends up

Writing Skills And School Habits
For me, writing has always been a challenge. I always felt like that I could not express myself with the
words I had been taught or that somehow I had been left out on the instructions on how to properly
write. It s always frustrated me that writing has been a challenge, and that may be why I enjoy reading
so much because other people seem to have a way with words that I don t. I love reading other people
s words a lot more than my own so much so that I tried avoiding writing as much as possible. Of
course, school involves a lot of writing so it was not like I could permanently avoid it as much as I
wish I could. So when my teacher announced that our class would be writing plays individually and
turning them in to a theatre company, I was not at all excited. I was more like terrified about someone
reading some trashy play I wrote. This moment in my life, however, changed my writing skills and
school habits quite unexpectedly. The experience of writing my own play and having it performed was
significant to me because it taught me about procrastination, hard work, and originality. 5th grade was
like any other school year except that there were a lot more expectations and responsibilities to go
along with it than the previous years, and Mrs. Schillinger definitely expected a lot from us, at least
what I thought was a lot.

until World War II, where he was forced into hiding for his support for the French Resistance. And
because of this, he ended up losing his job at the university. He still managed to learn and write about
theology and after some time of hiding away, he could eventually come out and publish more books

It s School Is Bad For Children
From anxiously fiddling with the tassel on my bright green graduation cap too sneaking glances at all
my peers to see if they were as anxious as I was our much anticipated graduation day had arrived,
High school graduation seems like it was decades ago. Thinking back, I thought that was the end and I
was the only one who wasn t set on the career that I would be pursuing for the next 40+ years. In all
reality graduation wasn t the end it was only the beginning to my future. In 2017 America owes a little
over 1.3 trillion dollars in student loans which I think is astonishing. After analyzing the writings of
Dwyer, Holt and Adams it s safe to say that the writers all had 3 wide spectrums of their thoughts on
our education system. In my eyes a good education consists of two factors: a strong base of a wide
spread knowledge and the ability to put that knowledge to use regardless of the circumstances.
Furthermore, while all three writers had excellent points to their arguments all their methods seemed
to lack any room for any additional input. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After graduation, I couldn t believe that after spending twelve years of my life in school how
unprepared I was to face adulthood from simple things such as writing checks and crafting a resume to
deciding on a major that would provide a steady income and bright future. Schools today focus more
on standardized testing and covering the material the state mandates for the course than fostering a
student s curiosity and individual

Leyster And Daumier Painted Everyday Life Events
Leyster and Daumier painted everyday life events, despite the different intentions. The time and styles
of the artwork are not similar at all, other than the intention to capture everyday life events. Leyster s
Self Portrait focused primarily on herself, how she viewed herself, and how she desired others to view
her. This type of painting was extremely rare, if not unheard of during a time when female artists were
seen as inferior. The Baroque style of painting exhibits bold colors and dramatic lighting with loose
brush strokes. Leyster painted herself looking straight, a slight smile, and comfortable posture;
showing a sense of confidence and engagement she desires to capture as though she were looking at
the viewer directly. Leyster also had a smooth finish to her painting making it look more like a
photograph, than a painting. Daumier s work however, is related closely to the working class and the
deep impact the time had on people, using warm colors. Daumier s heavy paint application with harsh
dark outlines related to his art as a caricaturist. Daumier worked to express the struggles that time had
brought among the lower or working class by the truth relayed in his painting. The family in this photo
is looking down, with expressed fatigue demonstrated by the women s drooped shoulders and
uncomfortableness in the crowded Third Class Carriage. There is no direct engagement with the
viewers but rather a sense of compassion is expressed. Daumier s painting is left

Cirque Du Soleil s Current Existing Methods For...
To manage new talent and keep it fresh, Cirque Du Soleil needs to reevaluate current existing methods
to recruiting new performers. Simply refreshing the current existing method of casting allows for
Cirque to get consistent and reliable results without clearing out their bank accounts. An ideal way of
refreshing it is to publicize the auditions they currently hold with 20 countries. Instead of holding
private sessions like they do now, make it available to the public audience. The venue will be paid for
with cheap tickets that Cirque Du Soleil can sell. Casting talent will not only be up to the casting
director(s), but the audience as well since they can influence the decision to cast auditioners by their
reaction to their performance. While this won t necessarily yield any immediate profits, it will expand
brand recognition, eliminate some of the issues that arise when it comes to casting, and allow Cirque
Du Soleil to see the kind of talent and performances that truly resonate with people. Agnès Roux
statement supports this best. He states that each performer came to work for the company in a different
way. I auditioned in Paris, but some friends have been spotted in competitions, on TV programs or
during performances with other companies (Zar, 2013, p. 17). One of the issues that Cirque has when
it comes to casting is that lone performers would have a difficult time going through the growing up
process with the show and/or being away from family and friends that have

  • 2. The Between Female And Female Urinary System Problem/Definition Microbes such as bacteria, viruses, or fungi enter the urethra and can cause a urinary tract infection. A UTI can occur in different parts of the urinary tract such as the kidneys, the ureter, the bladder or the urethra. They are more common in woman than in men. This is due to the females having a shorter urethra. According to Balentine (2015), about 40% of women and 12% of men will experience a UTI in their lifetime (p.1). It is because of the anatomical and physiological differences between the male and female urinary system that UTI s are more common in women. Background Different microbes that infect the lower and upper urinary tracts cause a urinary tract infection. Depending on where the infection develops the severity varies. If a patient is experiencing discomfort while urinating such as burning, lower abdominal cramping, constant need to urinate, incontinence, nocturia, or feeling generally unwell and achy, they may be experiencing a lower UTI (Robinson, 2013). Despite all these symptoms, some patient s may not experience any. A lower UTI involves the bladder and urethra (McIntosh, 2014). E. Coli, also known as Esherichia coli, lives in the bowel and anus. The bacteria E. coli causes 90% of urinary tract infections (Balentine, 2015, para.2). It is because the urethra and anus are positioned so close together on the female that wiping from back to front can pull the bacteria from the anus into the urethra, infecting the area (Karriem Norwood, ... • 3. Rna Interference ( Rnai ) Introduction RNA interference (RNAi) is a biological process where a double stranded RNA (dsRNA) activates the degradation of the sequence dependent RNA target cell, causing a posttranscrip tional gene silencing mechanism or inhibition of cellular gene expression. 1 This mechanism was first discovered in Caenorhabditis elegans in 1998 by Andrew Z. Fire and Craig C. Mello, where they observed that the introduction of the dsRNA in the animal cell resulted in an inhibition expression of the homologous gene, and this phenomenon opened new possibilities on modulat ing gene sequences in the medical industry. 2 However, there are some major setbacks with the ongoing research of this siRNA molecules as therapeutic applications, including a possibility of silencing the healthy genes other than the target ones when the siRNA binds to the complementary mRNA strand. There are also some studies that have shown that with the application of the siRNA as a drug, it produces some unwanted side effects where it could be lethal if there s an overdose or can cause immunity to the siRNA, leading to the question: is siRNA as a form of a drug for medicinal purposes actually safe? Mechanism of the RNAi in action The RNAi mechanism (Figure 1) is triggered with the introduction of the small interfering RNA (siRNA) molecules via enzyme (Dicer) breakdown of the double stranded RNA (dsRNA), following an incorporation of these siRNA into an RNA induced silencing complex (RISC). When the siRNA is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Annotated Bibliography On Data Encryption Standard 1.1 Data Encryption Standard Data Encryption standard was one of the predetermined symmetric algorithms for the encryption of data. DES was developed in early 1970s at IBM and based on an earlier design by Horst Feistel. DES is one of the most and significant modern symmetric encryption algorithm, for many years DES was known as secret code making . Key mixing: the expansion word is XORed with a round key constructed by selecting 48 bits from the 56 bits secret key, a different selection is used in each round. Substitution: the 48 bits result is split into eight bit words which are substituted in eight parallel 6 * 4 bit S boxes. All the S boxes, are different but have the same special structure. Permutation (P): the resulting 32 bits are reordered according to a fixed permutation before being sent as the output. 1.3 ALGORITHM [1] In the first step, the 64 bit plain text block is handed over to initial permutation (IP) function. [2] The initial permutation is performed on the input plain text. [3] The initial permutation results in two halves of permuted block: LBlock and RBlock. [4] Each of LBlock and RBlock goes through 16 rounds of the encryption process, each with its own key. • 8. The Death Of A Beautiful Woman By Edgar Allan Poe Essay Young, beautiful, and doomed; In several, if not all, works of Edgar Allan Poe, there is a not so subtle theme that is found. One of the death and beauty. How is the death of a young woman romanticized within selected works of Edgar Allan Poe? In such works as Lenore , Ulalume , popular Annabel Lee , The Raven , and short story The Oval Painter ,the death of a beautiful woman theme is prevalent and strongly noted within context, word choice, and imagery. In the eyes of Edgar Allan poe, death, especially that of a woman, to be lamented and mourned by a bereaved lover , is the most valued tool to have and utilize when writing. In his own life, Poe was able to relate to the subject matter, as many of his heroins are believed to be based upon his wife Virginia, who had died at a young age. Unraveling the methods to how Poe romanticized death of young women in his literature might give insight to not only Poe s life, but humanity in general.. For context, Poe is known to set up several instances to which a death of a beautiful woman is either inevitably played out, or said death is being lamented upon. Often times it is the narrator, unnamed, written to mourn, or speak on the behalf, of a dead woman, to which had significant value to them. Either a lover, signifiant other, what have you, the mourner has romantic ties to the deceased, thus creating the relationship between the living and the dead. Subsequently Eldridge was advised that his assistances would end without a prospect for a previous hearing. Eldridge completed it, specifying that his situation had not gotten better. The office then acquired reports from his specialists, and made an unconfirmed decision that his disability had stopped. Eldridge was told of the proposed end, and prompted that he could ask for extra time to submit extra data with respect to his condition. Eldridge s transcribed reply questioned one portrayal of his condition, and showed that the office as of now had enough data to verify his disability. The made its last decision to end assistances and told Eldridge that he could look for reevaluation within about six months. Eldridge depended on Goldberg v. Use of Magical Realism in Gabriel Garcia Marquez s Chronicle of a Death Foretold Magical realism is clearly present throughout Gabriel Garcia Marquez s novel Chronicle of a Death Foretold. Magical realism is the juxtaposition of realism with fantastic, mythic, and magical elements. A secondary trait was the characteristic attitude of narrators toward the subject matter: they frequently appeared to accept events contrary to the usual operating laws of the universe as natural, even unremarkable. Though the tellers of astonishing tales, they themselves expressed little or no surprise. • 11. Importance Of Biblical Worldview Wolters writes in his book, Creation Regained, that a worldview is almost essential to human beings because we cannot live without belief and guidance, which a worldview serves as (Wolters, 76). As Christians, we must have a biblical worldview, and in order to have a biblical worldview, it is critical for Christians to understand and discern structure and direction. Structure and direction are the main biblical themes, which Christians use to reform and renew every sector of their lives. I. Structure Structure is one aspect that defines an individual s worldview. Wolters defines structure as the essence of a creation that God placed in His creational law (Wolters, 682). It does not change despite human s perversity. For Christians, it is necessary to discern and understand structure since it is in all aspects of society, and it serves as a standard in all those areas. It acts as an anchor that provides definition and places boundaries and limits. As an example, a structure in government defines what it is supposed to do and places boundaries and limitations for it to run like a government, not like a school or a business. In a way, structure is God s mercy because not only does it set a limit for creations, but it also sets a limit on the enemy and prevents its dominion and bondage. Structure helps us to think about the questions in this world in a different perspective. It enables us to think in a Godly, scriptural perspective, which will serve as a guideline for us to ... Puerto Rico is currently experiencing an economic crisis. In the midst of a 10 year recession, it is now $72 billion in debt. The unemployment rate is currently 11.8 compared to 6.6 in Alaska, which has the highest unemployment rate of any state. The island also has a poverty rate twice that of America s poorest state, Mississippi. In a CNN Money article titled Why Puerto Rico s economy is in a death spiral by Patrick Gillespie the author explains that despite Puerto Rico having a similar population to that of Connecticut, 3.5 million, it carries the same debt load of New York State, 20 million. Gillespie believes that the problems stem from massive government overspending, a big dependence on debt and a costly, inefficient energy system. The Puerto Rican government has not been able to grow the economy for years leading to a rise in unemployment, business moving away from the island, and Puerto Ricans moving the United States for employment opportunities. Unlike other islands in the Caribbean, Puerto Rico imports crude oil to generate electricity for its residents, which results in a very costly process. Gnosticism can be defined as the mystical perception of knowledge and was considered to be a heresy that was condemned by those who followed the traditional Orthodox form of Christianity. In the second century the movement of Gnostic Christianity occurred; it is also referred to as a Christian sect (Carus). Though people viewed Gnostic Christianity as a sect, it has never been denied that Gnosticism is older than Christianity and the relation and importance between the two groups have never been acknowledged (Gnostic Discoveries). Since the discovery of texts found at Nag Hammadi which presents Jesus as a Gnostic teacher, the connection between the two groups has grown exponentially, and Paul Carus the author of The Monist even believes that Christianity is a branch of Gnosticism. Marvin Meyer a professor of Bible and Christian studies, has found that the discovery of the Gnostic texts allows scholars to get a deeper understanding of Christian teachings and relate the findings to biblical texts (Gnostic Discoveries). It is said that Gnosticism formed when early Christians did not agree with the Old Testament and that Gnosticism was another way for them to understand Jesus teachings, which is why there are differences between Orthodox beliefs and Gnostic beliefs (Mansager). According to Kristen Caschera, the three most significant challenges an adult learner faces are balancing school and life responsibilities, accessibility, and cost (Cashera, 2013). This is an issue in policy development because in order to run an effective educational program, it must need to meet the needs of an adult learn, focusing on ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 25. Reflection On Psych Clinical On November 2, 2015, I went to my psych clinical at BHH. I was assigned to the adolescent floor for the second time this semester. I was eager to go back on this floor because I found it very interesting the last time I was there. I got the opportunity to go to breakfast with the adolescent patients. I initially thought that they would not want to talk to me, just because I was in my white attire. It took the patients more than half the time to warm up and start to feel more comfortable talking to us. A lot of the patients wanted to know what college was like, if it was hard, and is it expensive. They became very talkative and wanted us to know what their plans were when they got out of this department. When breakfast was over, the patients went back to bed and I looked into what patient ... The primary underlying cause of the war was control of land used in the lucrative fur trade. Both the French and English wanted to profit from selling the popular pelts of the American beaver and otter. French and British settlers gradually expanded until there were many lines of friction that caused disputes. One of the immediate causes of the war was the Battle of Fort Necessity in 1754. Days before the battle, George Washington was sent by the British to insist that the French vacate an area around modern day Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and to use military force if necessary. The American author, teacher, and mythologist, Joseph John Campbell, is universally known for his work in comparative folklore and culture. Throughout the play Master Harold and The Boys Hally and Sam s characters are introduced, and there are numerous times when Sam s positivity will outshine Hally s negativity, or vice versa. Hally s pessimistic attitude shows a clear juxtaposition to Sam s optimism. This is seen through Sam trying to make sure Hally has something good in his life to remember, Hally being verbally negative about the comic books, later on physically and verbally attacking Sam, and Sam attempting to stay calm and positive. After having Hally attack Sam, Sam manages to stay calm through it, and in the end, he ends up asking Hally if he wants to try again to fly a new kite (59). The time and styles of the artwork are not similar at all, other than the intention to capture everyday life events. Leyster s Self Portrait focused primarily on herself, how she viewed herself, and how she desired others to view her. This type of painting was extremely rare, if not unheard of during a time when female artists were seen as inferior. The Baroque style of painting exhibits bold colors and dramatic lighting with loose brush strokes. Leyster painted herself looking straight, a slight smile, and comfortable posture; showing a sense of confidence and engagement she desires to capture as though she were looking at the viewer directly. Leyster also had a smooth finish to her painting making it look more like a photograph, than a painting. Daumier s work however, is related closely to the working class and the deep impact the time had on people, using warm colors. Daumier s heavy paint application with harsh dark outlines related to his art as a caricaturist. Daumier worked to express the struggles that time had brought among the lower or working class by the truth relayed in his painting. • 45. Cirque Du Soleil s Current Existing Methods For... To manage new talent and keep it fresh, Cirque Du Soleil needs to reevaluate current existing methods to recruiting new performers. Simply refreshing the current existing method of casting allows for Cirque to get consistent and reliable results without clearing out their bank accounts. An ideal way of refreshing it is to publicize the auditions they currently hold with 20 countries. Instead of holding private sessions like they do now, make it available to the public audience. The venue will be paid for with cheap tickets that Cirque Du Soleil can sell. Casting talent will not only be up to the casting director(s), but the audience as well since they can influence the decision to cast auditioners by their reaction to their performance. While this won t necessarily yield any immediate profits, it will expand brand recognition, eliminate some of the issues that arise when it comes to casting, and allow Cirque Du Soleil to see the kind of talent and performances that truly resonate with people. Agnès Roux statement supports this best. He states that each performer came to work for the company in a different way. I auditioned in Paris, but some friends have been spotted in competitions, on TV programs or during performances with other companies (Zar, 2013, p. 17).
