Antibiotics Resistance
Antibiotics are powerful very frequently used potential drugs in fighting bacterial infections
worldwide, [1]. These agents saved millions of lives in the past fifty years in both hospital based
and outpatient settings. Inadequate measures to control the spreading of infections, overprescribing
as well as inappropriate selection and dosing of antibiotics by healthcare providers, unfettered
access to antimicrobials by public, failure to adhere to clinically desired treatment regimens are
some of the driving force to spread of antibiotics resistance, [2]. In addition, lack of regulations to
promote the rational use of antibiotics in humans, infection prevention and control are some of the
other factors that lead to emergence of resistance to antibiotics, [3].
In under developing and low middle income countries (LMIC), inadequate regulations and high
levels of availability of antibiotics without prescription have led to higher incidence of
inappropriate use ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In addition, counterfeit or substandard medications including antibiotics have been identified in
many resource limited regions, particularly in sub Saharan Africa, [5,6]. Health systems in poor
countries often cannot offer the most optimal therapies required to appropriately deliver rational
antimicrobial medicines, [6]. Ringertz et al study highlighted that prophylactic and irrational
antibiotics use were exacerbating resistance in Ethiopian hospitals, [7]. There is a correlation
between antibiotic use and subsequent resistance [7].The inappropriate prescribing including lack
of education and training for health professional are wide common in low resource countries, [8]. It

their cultural preferences, beliefs and by the health administration system,

Alcohol In The Media Analysis
Shaken or Stirred?
How alcohol in the media affects young minds.
Media plays a big part in portraying alcohol to be something that young Australians feel they need
to try. Media does not just refer to their portrayal in television shows and movies, but also the role
advertisements have on television, radio, music, billboards, internet, signs, video games, public
transport and magazines. Television advertisement plays a major role in the attraction of alcohol to
adolescence, and a key aspect of this is the timeslot in which they are shown. The timeslot in which
television advertisements depict alcoholic beverages are more often than not in between programs
that are popular amongst the younger generations. This includes cartoons and programs ... Show

Many youth even try to study these portrayals in order to look and act like the people they see in
the ads. They often show that increased social status and an overall acceptance by society will
most certainly be the result of consumption. This gets even more complicated when celebrities
and role models often associated with adolescence are portrayed with alcohol, as the younger
generation will feel more compelled to try alcohol if their role models do. This can lead to a
subconscious abuse of alcohol simply due to the fact that they don t know any better.
Advertisements aren t the only form of media that draws younger viewers in. Movies and television
programs that depict main, or even minor, characters consuming alcohol can also cause adolescence
to feel that there must not be that many negative effects if these people are doing it, or that the
negative effects must be worth it. A study shows that 52.1% of movies contain alcohol brand name
appearances, while 83% contained the consumption of

The Tort Of Negligence Developed
A tort might be stated as a civil wrong not happening out of a contract or a relationship created
on trust, which is considered by a harm of the legal right preserved on others and an act for
repressible damages. Therefore the objective of torts is toward recompense the victim and not
penalizes the wrong person. Before we start a ride into in what way tort lawoperates it would be
sensible to know the nature of the torts committed and their growths over the years. This would not
lone help in considerate the current situation in a clearer manner but can also deliver a logic of
history about torts.
During the early primary 1800 s the tort of negligence developed as a single type of torts owed to
the fact that events in the tort of negligence were growing suggestively throughout that period.
Then, the awareness of the imposition of a duty of care in negligence developed alongside cases
such as Heaven v Pender (1883), and extra outstandingly case of Donoghue v Stevenson (1932)
that remains the leading case in negligence. This case clarifies that; Mrs Donoghue and her pal
went to a cafe in Paisley. At the cafe, Mrs Donoghues pal purchased her a drink which was a
ginger beer float consisting of ginger beer that stood in an cloudy bottle. After Mrs Donoghue
drank out of the drink in a beer cup, her pal topped up the drink, and then they found in the ginger
beer bottle decomposed leftovers of a snail. Mrs Donoghue claimed that the recalls of seeing the
snail in the ginger beer

Essay On Asylum Seekers
I created this article on asylum seekers and Australia s refusal to cooperate in the acceptance of
these refugees as an attempt to raise awareness the issue of asylum seekers. It is also intended to
examine the reasons why people are asylum seekers in the first place. I hope that We ve
boundless plains to share: Terms and conditions apply will provide a factual, emotive and relative
read. My title We ve boundless plains to share: Terms Conditions apply) is my attempt at a witty,
insightful title. We ve boundless plains to share is an exert from the second verse of the most
important song in Australian s hearts and minds, our anthem. It is also provided for ironic

Terms and conditions apply depicts the conditions you require to gain access to Australia as a
refugee. This being an authentic work or living visa or the forced attending of an offshore detention
centre for evaluation. This title was developed to be a shot at the government who are not
upholding the lyrics to our respected anthem that many Australian s base their life choices and
values on.
This article was not just written for those who agree that Australians should accept refugees but
also those who do not. It was written so that the people who disagree with the acceptance of
refugees could get an idea of the struggles that millions of people go through. It was written to
provide information as to why we don t accept refugees, but also why we should. This article is
not intended for a particular age, if you are able to read and understand politics then it is suitable
for you. It wasn t a particular age i was catering for but a certain audience, mainly those who do
not agree with the acceptance of refugees. I wrote to my audience by using examples of well
known, respected and loved refugees such as Anh Do and Munjed Al Muderis.

Charles Robert Darwin s Life and Accomplishments
Charles Robert Darwin was an English naturalist who was born in Shrewsbury, England on
February 12, 1809. He was the second youngest of six children. Before Charles Darwin, there
were many scientists throughout his family. His father, Dr. Robert Darwin, was a medical
doctor, and his grandfather, Dr. Erasmus Darwin, was a well known botanist. Darwin s mother,
Susannah Darwin, died when he was only eight years old. Darwin was a child that came from
wealth and privilege and who loved to explore nature. In October 1825 at age sixteen, Darwin
enrolled at Edinburgh University with his brother Erasmus. Two years later, Charles became a
student at Christ s College in Cambridge. His father wanted him to become a medical doctor, as he
was, but since... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Darwin believed all plants and animals had changed from past families by natural selection. An
example of natural selection would be the different coloration between beetles (Understanding
Evolution, 2008). There are two different colored beetles, one is brown and the other is green.
Since the environment cannot have an overpopulation, the green beetles will get consumed by
birds and not be able to survive and reproduce as much as the brown beetles. The brown beetles
have offspring because the trait has a genetic basis. When they produce more offspring, they
become more common in the environment and if this process continues, the population of beetles
will be mostly brown. Certain characteristics are innate within a species which help them reproduce
and survive more than other species with no such inborn characteristics. These species will become
more favorable and most common in the population. Darwin s theory of natural selection favors
organisms that are prone to adapting well to the environment, it makes it easy to pass on their genes
stabilizing the population and making it stronger. Species begin to die out according to, what
Darwin calls, survival of the fittest.
Darwin s Survival of the Fittest theory is a natural process resulting in the development of a
species best adapted to the environment. This is when the species only the species that are best
adapted the environment and its conditions are able to survive and reproduce. If they are not

Therapeutic Recreational Types Of Therapeutic Recreation
What does therapeutic recreation mean to me? Therapeutic recreation is a process that utilizes
recreation and education as a way to enable a being with any type of disorder, mentally, physically
or emotionally. My personal belief is that recreation can be used to help anyone become happier or
more comfortable than they already are. To put it simply, I believe that therapeutic recreation is a
very organized way to help people, no matter the circumstance, without prejudices, or
discrimination, and judgments. It doesn t matter whether the person was born with a disability,
physically or mentally, or even if they were born with no disability and are considered to be
clinically healthy , I believe as a TR representative it is our job to improve the lives of others in
any way we possibly can because if someone isn t as happy as they can be we theoretically can at
least try to help. Although I have yet to work in a therapeutic recreational type environment, I
feel that I have learned many helpful skills that translate from other fields that I can apply to the
field of TR. This past summer I worked two jobs in two completely different fields from each
other and therapeutic recreation. Working at a bar taught me that you need to be patient and
accommodating to peoples needs and wants. I also learned how big of an impact you could make
on someone s day just by doing the simplest tasks. This is especially important in TR because our
goal fully revolves around improving health and

Social Cognition And Its Impact On Recovery Success
Schizophrenia is a severe and persistent mental disorder that has many facets to consider when
treating individuals with this condition. The ability to function in different areas of everyday life,
both in and out of the home, has been a goal seldom achieved by patients treated for schizophrenia.
While new approaches to treatment have been developed that focus on neurocognitive and social
cognition, many treatments fail to fully address the social environment and its impact on recovery
success. Success is not simply a reduction of symptoms but the improvement of neurocognitive and
social cognitive impairment. Neurocognitive aspects include working memory, visual memory,

recovery, this study uses SCIT or Social Cognition and Interaction Training with the assistance of a
close family member or friend in the training protocol (F SIT), as their treatment condition, and the
control group simply received training in a social stimulation (SS) program. It was hypothesized
that the treatment group would improve their quality of life, social functioning and social
cognition more than the basic social stimulation group. Participants were recruited from the Celal
Bayar University Psychosis Unit and randomly assigned to each group in a 1:1 assignment. This
was later changed to 1:2 to reduce a variance discovered in the social stimulation group, which
would decrease noise and improve data quality. Data was collected at baseline, before
randomization and sixteen weeks after randomization. Of the originally recruited fifty two
participants, 19 became part of the treatment group and 22 became part of the control group. Both
groups received fourteen weeks of treatment, with the treatment group meeting every week and the
control group meeting every three weeks, with final data collection occurring two weeks after the

In the wine industry, some of the most extensive research on market segmentation has come from
Australia+ One of the premiere studies was that of McKinna, in which he focused on the
geographic segment of consumers in the South Australian wine industry, and then was able to
divide this consumer grouping more specifically into a psychographic segmentation based on five
wine lifestyles ~ McKinna, 1986!+ This research was further expanded upon and empirically
validated by a cadre of other wine marketing researchers ~ Bruwer, Li, Reid, 2001; Hall Winchester,
1999; Johnson, Ringham,
Jurd, 1991; Spawton, 1991a!+ The most recent empirical findings using this lifestyle segmentation

How People Cope With Loss Research Paper
How do People Cope with Loss? Dealing with loss affects an individual physically and
emotionally. Loss can take a huge toll on anybody. When we talk about loss we are not just
talking about the death of a person, but loss of a job or a divorce. People cope with loss in
various ways. There are more than just physical and emotional affects that loss can have on a
person but these are the main affects that we hear the most about. When people talk about the
physical effects of loss they think of abnormal sleeping patterns, eating disorders, and lack of self

but make sure that when you rise back up, you rise stronger than you have ever been. I like this

sector I see corporate like the officers of the military and those that s not in corporate like the

Education Of Autistic And Related Communication...
Abstract
Autism is a developmental disorder that is having a great effect on our nation. Something must be
done to slow the rising instances of cases of autism. Treatments and interventions must be
implemented into a child with autisms life. Without these interventions the level of autism in a
child will increase (Francis, 2005). The Treatment and Education of Autistic and related
Communication Handicapped Children (TEACCH) method and Early Intensive Behavior
Interventions (EIBI) method are two well known methods that help decrease the severity of Autism
Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a child (Francis, 2005). The two interventions differ in the age that
they are implemented (MacDonald, Parry Cruwys, Dupere, Ahearn, 2014). TEACCH ... Show more

The two most useful and known interventions are the TEACCH method of intervention, which
stands for the Treatment and Education of Autistic and Related Communication Handicapped

Interventions. Both of these methods are known for decreasing the effects but neither are foolproof
methods (MacDonald, Parry Cruwys, Dupere, Ahearn, 2014). Limiting the effects that Autism has
on the body and limiting the effects that Autism has on the individuals social life, are the main
focus for many doctors and therapists (Francis, 2005). The two methods differ drastically in the age
group that the focus on. This is where controversy is known to exist. The TEACCH method focuses
on the intervention of school age children, elementary through high school (Francis, 2005). The
EIBI method focuses on intervention in the toddler age (2 3) (Matson Konst, 2013). The two
interventions show major aid to decreasing the effects that ASD has on the body and has shown the
change the lives of children with autism throughout the world (Francis, 2005).
Methods
The TEACCH method is based on a Psychoeducational approach (Francis, 2005). The method is

Chernobyl s Fallout When I was informed we were doing a multi genre project I chose
Chernobyl because it was interesting what the radiation could do when it wasn t being contained
correctly. What sparked my interest for this topic was when I was watching the show River

that was common there, he commented Wow! This fish is huge. This fish looks to have mutated
from the incident that happened a few years ago. (Wade) This also caught my interest the most
because there is also a game called Fallout, this game took place in the aftermath of a world

The people then started to panic and evacuate once they started to get affected by the radiation.

away from the radiation exposure, they have survived but there still was a fallout of the
radiation might have killed more people, but the other survivors most likely died from the
thyroid cancers that they developed. The fallout of the Chernobyl meltdown was also very
destructive, the radius of the fallout (the worst parts of it) was at max 100Km all around
Chernobyl causing the surrounding areas to also get a dose of the Chernobyl incidents radiation.

Gays in the Military, is it right ?
For nearly 50 years, it has been the U.S. military s official policy to exclude homosexuals from
service. In November 1992, President elect Clinton told Americans that he planned to lift the
military s long standing ban on gays and lesbians. Homosexual men and women, he said, should not
be prevented from serving their country based on their sexual orientation. Soon after taking office
in 1993, Clinton faced powerful military and congressional opposition to lifting the ban. General
Colin Powell, then chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and Senator Sam Nunn, who was
chairman of the Senate Armed Forces Committee between 1987 an 1994 and left Congress in 1996,
announced that they would seek to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Throughout the 1980s, concerns about the spread of AIDS further solidified some military leaders
opposition to allowing gay people to serve. The directive remained in place until 1994, when it
was supersede by the don t ask, don t tell policy. Between 1980 and 1990, the armed forces
discharged an average of 1,500 service members annually because of their homosexuality.
Defenders of the don t ask, don t tell policy argue that the military must do what it needs to
maintain the strongest possible fighting force. In order to carry out that obligation, they say,
military leaders must have the authority and discretion to set rules as they see fit to keep up morale
and maintain order. On the issue of gay people s service, they say, if military commanders maintain
that allowing gays and lesbians to serve openly would be detrimental to morale and discipline, then
courts and public should respect that decision. Defenders of the ban and of the military s current
policy dispute the notion that military personnel should be afforded the same constitutional
protections as civilians. Policy supporters maintain that the military is a unique institution with its
own set of rules. Opponents of the current policy believe that while the military may have a

Marshmallow Experiment Dbq
The Marshmallow Experiment Does willpower matter? According to an experiment that took
place in 1968, children who had more willpower generally ended up being more successful than
those that were not able to control themselves. The marshmallow experiment is an experiment that
involved four year olds where they were given the option to either one marshmallow immediately,
or if they waited fifteen minutes they would receive two marshmallows. I believe that willpower
plays a major part in being successful. According to source 1, The difference between a child who
could only wait thirty seconds and a child who could wait fifteen minutes was that the high delayer

When the experiment was revisited at the University of Rochester they found out, Behavioral
cues play a big role in determining who holds out for that second marshmallow, and the results
call into question how much self control actually has to do with it. (Source 2) There are some
people that say that self control does not have to do much with the experiment, however, the
children that took place in the experiment in 1968 were coming up with strategies to avoid the
marshmallow. They would avoid thinking about the marshmallow and did just about anything to
avoid thinking about the marshmallow. Some of the other children were not able to control
themselves and rang the bell almost immediately. Self control is a major key to delayed
gratification. In source 2 it says, If a child or adult lives in an environment where promises
always get broken and outcomes are unreliable, the most rational response is to eat the
marshmallow right in front of her and not wait for the promised marshmallows in the future. This
can be true but self control and mindset come into play here as well. If you can control yourself
to wait and have the mindset that the marshmallow that was promised will be delivered you will
be able to wait. The children or people have never seen the professor that promised them this
marshmallow and it depends on their mindset if they believe he/she will truly deliver the second

Kiliba Rough Diamond
Kiba lived in a place he considered heaven on earth. It was a lonely isolated area of Alaska. It was
certainly rugged, but Kiba thought it was beautiful like a rough diamond found among worthless
rock. Kiba lived in this isolated area with his father, a lifelong fisherman like his father before him.
Kiba s only desire in life was to be a fisherman like his father. Kiba s mom died when Kiba was a
little boy. Kiba had faint memories of her soft voice. He was allowed to visit her in her bedroom if
he promised to be a good boy and not talk too loudly. Kiba had distinct memories of the yellow
nightgown his mother liked to wear. Yellow was her favorite color. It was the softest and palest
yellow cotton from so many washings. Kiba s mom seemed to slip from life with little fanfare like
she lived. Kiba missed her because she was his mom, but as the years passed, he had a harder and
harder time picturing her face. He basically remembered a thin body draped with a soft, pale
yellow gown.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

While other fishermen had to struggle to earn a living, Kiba always managed to more than make

yellow flecks visible on it. This made Kiba think of his mom when he was out fishing. His mom

religions in Singapore. The country is diverse in many aspects such as culture and religion. The
government ensures that Singapore healthcare is affordable by implementing Medisave,
MediShield, Medifund and ElderShield (Hwee Sing, Yee Wei and Vrijhoef, 2014). Out of
pocket expenses may be small, but cost do accumulate over time. Patients are treated like private
patients even within a public system. Private sectors offer services to religion patients, privately
insured and public patients if they can afford the cost because the out of pocket cost is
ridiculously expense. Singapore healthcare today is acceptable and reasonable. Singaporeans are
required to have a saving plan which is Medisave (Hwee Sing, Yee Wei and Vrijhoef, 2014).

Symbolism In Alice In Wonderland
Walt Disney s first attempted to produce Alice in Wonderland in the 1930 s. Like Alice, he had a
dream. Both dreams knew no bounds and discovered that the only thing certain is uncertainty.
Alice in Wonderland was the 13th animation that Disney ever produced. Thirteen is thought of as
an unlucky number, a symbol of rebellion and lawlessness which suits the context of this novel
perfectly, especially considering its initial unpopularity. Why we dream is one of the biggest
unanswered questions of modern science. What we do know is that it is based on the
subconscious. Alice plunges into a world of mystery and magic where the extraordinary is ordinary
and a new adventure waits around every corner. The novella starts with a characteristically Dream

In this instance, Alice is reflecting on the never ending nature of her sister s monotonous reading
tone. She escapes to another realm, which offers her an exciting life that moves at an exponential

Green Bay Packers Characteristics
The Green Bay Packers are one of the most notable teams in the NFL and all of sports. The four
time Super Bowl champions have a few negative qualities, including bad defenses in the past and
recent years of unsuccessful playoff runs. However, the negatives do not outweigh the team s
powerhouse offense and Super Bowl trophies. The team was founded in 1919 and had very little
success until 1929. This is the start of the Green Bay Packersthat most people know as Titletown .
From 1929 to present day, the Packers have won 13 championships. That being the most
championships won by a single team in NFL history. While the Green Bay Packers are a very
successful team, they have had their up s and down s.
One of the team s biggest strengths is their powerhouse offense. But the man under center is what
makes that powerhouse offense run. That man is Aaron Rodgers. Aaron Rodgers is one of the
best quarterbacks in the league if not the best. His statistics are unbelievable. He has the highest
quarterback rating in NFL history at 103.8, while the second closest is 98.9. He has thrown 300
touchdowns to only 74 interceptions. That being a 4:1 touchdown to interception ratio, also the
best in NFL history. One of his most impressive streaks was his success at home. In 2015, he threw
an interception at home. The last one he threw at home before that was in 2012. He went three
years without throwing an interception at home. Truly a remarkable feat. In 2011, Aaron had one of

Smallpox Vaccines Argumentative Analysis
Ever since the invention of the first smallpox vaccine by Edward Jenner (In 1788, the scientist
Edward Jenner inoculated a healthy, 8 year old boy with cowpox, a disease caused by a virus that
closely resembles variola, this eventually led to the development of the smallpox vaccine), there has
been much controversy since then over the morality, ethics, effectiveness, and safety of vaccination
and immunization. It has recently been argued whether laws should be introduced that render some
or all vaccines obligatory for all school age children (Singer, 2009). Parents, physicians, school
nurses, teachers and children all have an important voice in this issue. Parents rightfully argue that

Dalai Lama s Invasion On Tibetan Culture
During 1950, china invaded tibet and the small tibetan army couldn t handle the stronger chinese
army and had to give in. In 1951, a peaceful liberation took place and was signed by Tibet making
many agreements with China. The biggest condition was giving authority to the chinese over Tibet.
The upcoming anniversary of this liberation should not be commemorated because this was an
invasion on the tibetan culture and on the lives of the tibetan people.
A previous icon during the time of the peaceful liberation in Tibet, was the fourteenth Dalai Lama.
He tried to preach non violence to all the angry Tibetans. People refused his ways and began to
fight the communist ways and the Lama did not support them. When Dalai Lama returned to
India to celebrate the Buddha, he did not want to go back to Tibet with all the fighting.
Eventually a big fight broke out with the chinese army and tibetan gorillas and the Dalai Lama
had to flee and was no longer welcome in Tibet with his people. This liberation ruined a religious
icon in Tibet and that is no reason to celebrate.(Gale Group)

Human Papillomavirus ( Hpv ) Essay
According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), we know that Human
papillomavirus (HPV) is a kind of severe sexually transmitted infection (STI) and it is so
common that the majority of sexually active people may infect HPV during their lives. The
majority of HPV infections cause no severe symptoms and can be resolved spontaneously in two
years. But some of them preserve and lead to premalignant condition or warts. The premalignant
condition will increase the danger of several kinds of cancers, such as the cervix cancer, vulva
cancer, vagina cancer, mouth cancer and throat cancer. According to the information from the
CDC and WHO, HPV16 and HPV18 are two kinds of high risk HPVs, which may cause cervical
cancer among women; HPV6 and HPV11 are considered to be the common causes of genital warts
and respiratory papillomatosis.[2]
Introduction of HPV
A Brief Overview
Human papillomavirus (HPV) is a kind of DNA virus from the papillomavirus family. There are
more than 150 types of HPV discovered till now. Over 40 types of them are transmitted by sex and
infect the anus and genitals.[5] Early age of first sexual intercourse, poor immune function,
smoking, and multiple partners are all high risk factors for Continual HPV infections [2] The
major routes of transmission are continuous direct skin contact with anal sex or vaginal. Babies
may get HPVs from their mother during pregnancy sometimes. People can be infected with several

Thomas Hobbes Leviathan
Hobbes, in Leviathan, immediately embarks on an ambitious task: not to explain tedious small
morals, but rather those qualities of mankind, that concern their living together in peace, and unity
(Hobbes, 239). Hobbes asserts that no ultimate goal or greatest good exist; a universal goal in life
simply does not exist. Thus, no natural hierarchy can be established with respects to an individual s
capacity to achieve this ultimate good i.e. no one person is naturally better than the rest in
achieving some virtuous goal because no such goal exists. The alignment of human existence,
therefore, is not towards an ultimate good, but rather to avoid the ultimate evil: death. Therefore,
the voluntary actions, and inclinations of all men, tend,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although commonly interpreted as being such, the state of nature is not equivalent to everyone
acting out of self preservation. The state of nature arises from humans ill perception of what is, in
fact, self preservation. While we may wish to act out of self preservation, we often seek to satisfy
immediate needs without considering the consequences, thus leading to conflict. Likewise, Hobbes
thinks we are often too concerned with others perceptions of ourselves, evident by his discussion
of glory as a principle cause of quarrel. Humans ought to follow the laws of self preservation, and
thereby ought to endeavor peace, but yet, our shortsightedness prevents us from doing so. An
objection may be that there is no strong evidence that shows that self preservation leads to peace. To
explain this, I turn to Aristotle and his teleological explanation of human nature. Aristotle believed
that the good of human beings must be that at which the activity of living a human life aims at.
What would a human life aim at living other than living itself? Self preservation is the excellence
that Aristotle valued, and, as Aristotle argued, excellence leads to happiness, or

The Pros And Cons Of Military Technology
Conclusion
It is common knowledge within the tech community that some commercial technology lags at least
a decade behind new military technology. The lag time will allow for an adjustment period to help
facilitate the acceptance from the public on a mass scale.
The merging does not have to be at the extremes of what is demonstrated on television shows such
as Star Trek, and there will be those who stand against the changes due to religious and
philosophical beliefs. Nevertheless, those who embrace the newfound world will outnumber those
who do not. Just as people rush to get the newest iPhone or tech gadget, they will slowly integrate
new hybrid technology into their lives. It will be only a matter of time until all humans assimilate
into a future where man and machine co exist as one organism thus breaking the biological barriers
that have constrained human evolution thus far. A.I Summoning the Demon illustrates the
consequences of creating advanced artificially intelligent machines and discusses possible solutions
to the problem. The importance of regulations is discussed along with the need for the human race
to become a hybrid species. These solutions together will ensure the longevity of the human species
well into the next millennium.

The reasoning behinds this is that it has a great symbolic meaning to it. The color symbolizes
anything in the real world that has been tainted by the other world and is used to suggest really
explosively emotional moments and situations. A scene that helps support this is when Cole
was at the birthday party. Cole s red jumper at the kid s party, and the red balloon, both pre empt
the ghost sobbing in the wall. It has also been said that the image of the balloon rising up
towards the light through the center of the spiral staircase is representative of a spirit rising up
towards God, with the staircase representing life s journey. The fact that Cole wears red here
could be symbolic of his situation at this point: he is naive and uncertain, but is drawn to the
voices nonetheless. Red is the color of the spirit world, and so by wearing it he is inadvertently
drawing spirits towards him. Whenever Cole was scared he would run to the Church which had
a big red door, or he would run to his sanctuary which was a red tent in his house. So,
contradictorily, red is both a color of danger and ghosts, and of safety and refuge. I think the key
to understanding this contradiction is in religion and all its contradictions and promises. Cole s
understanding of religion is a simple one. He sees the church as a place to escape the spirits voices
that are haunting him, and yet he enters possibly one of the most spiritual places

Summary Of 7 Habits Of Highly Effective Teens
Throughout reading Sean Covey s 7 Habits of HIghly Effective Teens you made undergo
modifications in your own life if you are considering the life changing statements he made. The
purpose of this book was to inspire and change young adults habits that they have conjured up. I
have actually been able to apply some of these habits in my own life.He has taught me and some
of my classmates many lesson as we have read and overviewed the text. These principles or
habits have taught me about a healthy relationship, how to make smarter choices for my life,
trusting that I have self worth, and how to make me and my parents relationship better. When
people talk about being proactive they are most likely referring to the first habit in the 7 Habits
of Highly Effective Teens. This chapter is about controlling your responses to certain situations.
For instance if you are in a tough position instead of overreacting and handling a difficult
situation badly you could calm down and thoroughly think your response out.If you look in the
listen to your language section it says, You can tell the difference between proactive and reactive
people by the language they use. This is true just by the way you sound you can tell how people
will react to a situation. This habit is crucial when it comes to problem solving and if you end up
in a bad situation. You can not control what happens to you but you can control how you react. If
you apply these concepts to your life things will not be as complicated.

Penalty Shots In Soccer And Field Hockey
Penalty Shots in Soccer and Field Hockey
Why it is easier to score a soccer penalty shot than a field hockey penalty stroke
Ryan Andrew
23.05.2017
11TH Grade Physics
INTRODUCTION
Soccer and field hockey are two of the most widely played field sports in the world. Both sports
involve a team of players moving a ball around a field, and attempting to score in their opposing
team s goal. At certain points in the game, if the opposing team has infringed upon certain rules,
soccer players may take a penalty shot and hockey players a penalty stroke. The penalty shot
(soccer) involves the player kicking the ball from 11m in front of the goal s centre, and
attempting to get it past the goalie, who is the one player allowed to defend against the shot. A
penalty stroke (hockey) is essentially the same as a penalty shot, but the player stands 6.4 metres
from the goal centre, and they hit the ball using a stick. It is believed that it is easier to score a
penalty shot in soccer than a penalty stroke in hockey, for the reasons outlined below.
DISCUSSION
Ball Speed and Goalkeeper reaction time/s:
The average reaction time of a goalie has been previously investigated by Taskin et al., and found to
be 225.59 milliseconds (2016). Secondary data for average ball speeds for field hockey and soccer
were located, and a calculation revealed the amount of time that goalies would have to act in if
they react from when the ball is hit (see journal pages 5 6). These figures would suggest that it
would be easier for a goalie to block the ball, but given that the goalie must move much further to
protect the ends of the goal area, it is, in fact, harder to score past the hockey goalkeeper than the
soccer one.
Goal Coverage:
It has been calculated that the ratio of the percentage of the goal covered by the goalie to the
percentage of the goal covered by the ball was, for soccer, 82.14:1, and for hockey it was 827:1
(see journal pages 3 5). If you are on the attacking team (the team that is attempting the shot), you
want this ratio to be small, as it allows the ball more area to move in that the goalie cannot cover
standing still. As such, it is evidence that it is easier to score a soccer penalty shot than a hockey
penalty

The Is Not The Case With Neil Gaiman
Fiction, as a genre, is a tricky form of prose. It is made out of imaginary characters and
situations. Often these are very disconnected from reality that the readers are almost always
aware that they are reading a book. That however is not the case with Neil Gaiman. His
characters and situations are always tied back to the reality we live in. As outrageous as events
get in his worlds there s always an element of reality, a real world problem that sucks the reader
in. Even if he s talking of ancient gods or a fictional London where rats can talk and fox like
creatures have a taste for fine china, there s a balancing element such as the ancient gods who
enjoy a couple games of checkers or a protagonist who is about to marry a woman who he... Show

The mirror , Foucault writes, functions as a heterotopia in this respect: it makes this place that I
occupy at the moment when I look at myself in the glass at once absolutely real, connected with
all the space that surrounds it, and absolutely unreal, since in order to be perceived it has to pass
through this virtual point which is over there (Of Other Spaces, 4). Gaiman s worlds do exactly
that, the reader can perceive this entire new world as real as the one he lives in but the quirky
elements would suggest otherwise because they are in fact within the borders of virtual.
However, that which is virtual does not mean it is completely out of reality as Foucault s

cannot be qualified either as utopias but dystopias, they are mere reflections of mundane reality.
In one of his lectures We writers [...] have an obligation to our readers , Gaiman says, it s the
obligation to write true things, especially important when we are creating tales of people who do
not exist in places that never were to understand that truth is not in what happens but what it tells
us about who we are. Fiction is the lie that tells the truth, after all (Why our future depends on

Women Of The Indian Society
INTRODUCTION
Not enough people understand what rape is, and until they do ... , not enough will be done to stop
it. Rape victim, quoted in the book by Groth in 1979 (p. 87)
India, a nation which had Mahatma Gandhi as its role model of uprightness became so
remarkably violent and corrupt that the women can no longer be safe within their bodies.
Mahatma Gandhi who defeated the Britishers to save the Indians by relying on non violence is
considered as the father of the nation, but his sense of honor are being deceived so easily that a
woman is raped every twenty minutes in India [1] In the world s largest democracy and even
children of five years are subjected to rape [2]. Women in contemporary Indian society are really
leading if we compare them from the ancient time. Women are the congenital part of our society
and cannot be cast aside due to their less power and authority. The basic section of society is a
woman. As woman makes a family, a family makes a home and homes make a society. So we
should never think that a society would come into continuance without the contribution of
women. But with the development in the society as women is becoming empowered , Indeed
there are few categories of crime that affect the community and their victims as much as rape,
sexual assaults, and the other sex related crimes. The impacts of sexual assault and rape crimes can
be easily seen in the very way we live our lives and raise our family because it has a great affect on

Examples Of Racism In The Play Fences
When you look at field of dandelions, you can either see a hundred weeds, or a thousand wishes...
It s known as perspective in which, I have learned that two people can look at the exact say thing
and see something totally different. In Fences and Say yes , both authors reveal that different
perspectives about racecreate conflict with those that you love.
The overall play Fences, deals with racism in various types of ways. In the play fences the
perspective on racism has trickled down from generation to generation. Firstly before Troy even
knew what racism was his father was greatly affected by it. Troy s father was profoundly
affected by slavery during his time of life. Troy said that all his father wanted was for them to
learn how to walk so they could work. The only thing my daddy cared about about was getting
them bales of cotton in to Mr. Lubin, this shows how slavery and racism greatly affected Troy s
father. Due to his father being so caught up in his work he treated Troy and his siblings very
poorly, which kind of influenced Troy s views on white people.
Troy and his son Cory have a really heavily impacted love hate relationship. Troy and Cory both
view racism and white people in various types of ways. Firstly on page 2 Troy states Why you
got the white mens driving and the colored lifting, this already shows a discrepancy that Troy
has towards white people. Troy views him and his friends unequally to the white people in the
society during the time period. Now Troy sees that he has a lack of equality compared to white
people. Did white people feel they had more privilege compared to blacks? It s just a perspective
that Troy has about white people right off the back, now he later runs into some conflict with his
loved ones.
One of the biggest disagreement points in the story revolved around Cory wanting to pursue his
dream in college football due to the scholarship he had been offered. The white man ain t gonna
let him get nowhere with that football, said troy, again this quote shows a lack of trust in white
people as he believes that one of the white recruiters won t really take Cory and that Cory will
never make a living out of it. What Troy does not understand is that times

Women s Movement During The Civil Rights Movement
The activism era was an era where different groups of people worked to change how things were
seen and done in America. These people took different social issues and brought them to the front
of the table to be discussed and noticed by the American people. Although many of them caused
great controversy, all of the movements made a great impact on how our country is the way that is
is today. The Civil Rights Movement, Women s movement, and counterculture were all different
movements during the activism era, however, they were all working towards a common goal:
equality.
One of the most popular and successful movements of the era was the Civil Rights Movement. The
Civil Rights Movement consisted of African Americanand white citizens wanting to get rid of
discrimination in America. There were different approaches to this movement including mostly
nonviolent approaches. Martin Luther King Jr. once said that Negroes had been humiliated and
oppressed just for the sole fact that they were Negro citizens. This shows us what African
Americans went through during that time, and it also shows us why they wanted equality. Another
movement that was modeled after the Civil Rights movement was the Women s movement.... Show

These people wanted equal opportunities to be provided for women such as jobs, wages, and ability
to vote. The National Organization for Women states that their goal is to bring women into full
participation in the mainstream of American society now... in equal partnership with men. If their
goal was to bring women into mainstream American Society, then that means that they were not
already there, and they had to work to achieve equality. The National Women s Organization
wanting to be equal with men also shows that the goal of their movement is to achieve equality in
American society. The Civil Rights and Women s movements both paved the way for the
counterculture

Robin Chase is the co founder of a business called Zipcar, which is the largest car sharing

transportation field due to her major successes not only on Zipcar, but other companies called
Buzzcar and GoLoco. Mrs. Chase not only creates transportation companies, but she also builds the
network for these companies through Veniam (robinchase.org). Mrs. Chase is a graduate of

I would ask this because there is always at least one person who tries to abuse the system and I
would like to know what prevention techniques there are for this. My second question would be:
How did you come up with the idea for Zipcar? I would like to know this because it is
inspirational to hear those who have had success, discuss their success and allow others to learn
and potentially develop great ideas as well. Speaking to those that are experienced in the field is
something that many young entrepreneurs would love to hear more about. My final question that
I would ask is: What was a major hurdle that you had to get over in the early stages of Zipcar? I
would ask this because overcoming obstacles is something that everyone can relate to and when
you see a majorly successful businesswoman it is often forgotten that they had to overcome
obstacles. Recognizing that they were in your shoes once is humbling and can often refocus your
efforts and can motivate you to continue working towards your

Character Analysis Of Cat On A Hot Tin Roof
The 1950s is a time well known for the introduction of colour television, the Corvette sports car,
and rock and rollers. Along with this new stream of optimism was a focus on family result from
the end of the world war 2 .They were more people starting to get married and the birth rate has a
sharp increase that became known as the baby boom phase. In the 1950s, media, magazines, and
books were used as messages to instil the idea of the perfect family and life into the minds of
Americans. Cat on a Hot Tin Roof came out in 1955 and tells the story of a Southern family in
dealing with its various struggles. One of the story s most vital characters is a woman, Maggie.

A showy and occasionally inappropriate woman, Big Mama is just like Maggie in that both are
married to men who cannot stand them. Big Mama is openly devoted to her husband, and
throughout their whole marriage, she has stood by him. Despite Big Daddy s frequent insults,
Big Mama refuses to become offended and does not allow the marriage to fall apart. The
difference between Maggie and Big Mama is that although Big Mama has a very hard marriage,
she has had children and served her husband well. A good wifes role was to serve her husband s
comfort and know her place. The man was the master of the house, and therefore it was
inappropriate for the woman to complain to her husband and talk about her problems. Listening to
the man was important because his conversation topics were the most important. A problem
Maggie has is that although she wants to be an ideal wife and mother, she does not carry out all
parts of the expectation. She is stubborn and against to taking into account what Brick wants, and
she continuously complains and fights with him. Big Mama on the other hand is a piteous
character in that she is so desperate to stay away from problems and argument that she embarrasses
herself in order to avoid them. This is why, although Maggie and Big Mama share

We Carry Our Children In Our Hearts
Motherhood is awesome and trying at the same time. Men cannot carry children, therefore
motherhood is akin to a secret society of sisters. There are so many interesting things about
momness. We re a pretty cool bunch, and I hope you enjoy the varied 13 Amazing Motherhood
facts I have compiled.
#### We Carry Our Children in Our Hearts, Literally
There are scores of saccharine quotes about children being our hearts living outside of our body
or our hearts carrying a part of our progenies with us wherever we go. That said, I m not waxing
poetic when I tell you that we literally carry our children in our hearts, and in our lungs, liver and
kidneys. Even our brains are sometimes infused with our child s cells. This happens when the

Ethos In Joe Clark
Joe Clark uses the appeal of credibility of character, also known as ethos, to encourage his
students and teachers at Eastside High to work hard and improve. One example of how Mr. Clark
showed ethos is at the beginning of the movie when he first came in and kicked out all of the bad
students from the stage. These students were the worst of the worst, they had been selling and
using drugs and not doing anything to improve in school. By coming right in and laying the
hammer down on the students, this showed the students that there is now authority in the school
and they cannot keep messing around. The school had not seen any type of real leaders in the
school in a while, and that is why it got so bad there. With Joe Clark arriving, things will surely
change. Another example of ethosin this movie is how Mr. Clark ensured that each one of the
students lives were doing okay and they had a place to stay. He would always ask people how
they were doing in the hallway and that made the students look up to him as a person who really
did care for them. Joe took the time and personally went to Kaneesha s house and made sure she
had a safe place to permanently stay and convinced her mom to keep letting her live there. This
put Kaneesha s trust in Mr. Clark as a person she can really rely on and look up to. A final
example of when Joe Clark used ethos is when he said that everyone could succeed on the test
and in life if they are really willing to put the work in for it. He said he truly believed in them
that they will pass if they become motivated. Joe saying that he believed in the students put
encouragement in them that they had possibly never seen. Another way that Joe Clark
motivated the students and staff of Eastside to work harder is by using the appeal of Logos, or
statistics and logic. A powerful example of when Mr. Clark used logos is when he had a meeting
with all of the staff and made 70% of them put their hands up to signify the 70% of students who
failed the exam. This really made the staff really think that they can make a big difference in these
kids lives. Another example of when Joe Clark used logos to get the students motivated is when he
made a speech before they took the exam. He made the

Self Assessment Life History Report
Self assessment Life History Report
The identity of a person can be influenced by many factors depending on the environment in
which they live (Kuada Chachah, 1999). I am a 23 year old Ghana national. I came to this country
in 2002 when I was ten years old, and I am a Christian by religion. Many factors have influenced
my current identity and described my values and beliefs. Such factors include gender, sexual
orientation, age, family, race and ethnic identification, religious identity, and socio economic status
among many others. These factors have determined the person I am today, and it makes them
significant in my life
Ghana is a democratic state in which all people are expected to obey the Constitution. That is why
I believe in the rule of law and that all people within the country have their rights and freedoms.
Ghana has over 100 ethnic groups, which peacefully coexist. These groups vary in population with
Akan being the largest which I am a member. In this country, the different ethnic groups are known
to have diverse talents such as the craftworks of the Akan tribe in making products such as fertility
dolls and hand carved stools.
Family is the basic unit of the society in Ghana, and it provides the primary source of people s
identity. It creates a sense of responsibility and loyalty among people. In Ghana, different ethnic
groups have different family values. For instance, the Akan believe that women in families possess
higher status, and they determine the

The Five Social Classes In America
The five social or economic classes in America are based on the large disparity of income gaps
in the American class system. The naming of the different class systems may have different
names depending on the author, but the American social class system has a wide income gap
between the richest to the poorest in the nation. According to the article, Who We Are written by
Emily Barone, the income gap is wider than ever before in America. The income gap is wider
than ever. Climbing out of poverty is increasingly difficult. (Barone, 2014, p. 1) The richest are
receiving record high incomes, while the poorest in the nation are finding it ever harder to rise
above the poverty line. The author Ms. Barone divides and names the five social classes... Show

However, not many studies have made it clear as to how wide is the gap between CEO pay here
in America compared to the minimum wage worker and how does this gap compare to other
countries. There is an article called CEOs Get Paid Too Much, According to Pretty Much
Everyone in the World by Ms. Gavett. The article is interesting to point out the differences in
CEO pay gaps according to the minimum wages around the world. The article also gives what
many people perceive as an ideal pay gap between the wealthy and poor around the world. I was
not surprised to see that the America CEO pay gap is the highest in the world and by a large
margin. The ideal pay gap for America according to the study should be around 6.7 to 1 in
America. For example, the largest desired ratio difference Australia at 8.3 to 1 would be
hypothetically making over $500,000 a year. (Gavett, 2014, p. 1) While most Americans feel
that CEO pay gap is larger at around 30 to 1. However, Americans would be stunned to know
America s real wage gap related to CEO to the worker. America s real pay gap is the highest in
the world at 350 to 1. Many of the heated debates about whether CEO pay should be capped or
the minimum wage increased are debates based on an extreme lack of knowledge about the true
state of affairs. (Gavett, 2014, p. 1) Judging by the actual current pay gap figures, I suggest placing

Women s Influence Of Women In The Renaissance
The Renaissance is defined most simply as a time period of societies renewed interest in the
importance of art, education, literature and architecture. These ideals inspired many people to make
advancements in these fields and make their mark on history. Before the Renaissance began,
women were shoved into the background; they were not given many opportunities to lead their own
lives. This reform movement guided women away from the oppression of societal norms and
allowed them to form their own personas by becoming inspiring authors, arguing for their equality
to men, and using the societal situations to become inspirations to others.
In society in the 1300 s, women had integral parts in the running of a family and household. They
cared for the children and visitors, while also looking after their husbands accounts. This meant
that women were expected to keep themselves out of the public eye and behave according to their
social class. In the online article it is stated that, First a woman was a daughter and then a wife,
mother, or widow. In contrast, male roles were generally defined by social position or occupation (
Women In The Renaissance and Reformation ). This proves that women were held to certain
expectations and standards. These standards kept women under the control of supreme male
authority and did not give them the freedom to lead their own lives. Women were silenced before
the Renaissance period. Society told women they were to be respectful daughters and

Inadequate measures to control the spreading of infections, overprescribing as well as inappropriate selection and dosing of antibiotics by healthcare providers, unfettered access to antimicrobials by public, failure to adhere to clinically desired treatment regimens are some of the driving force to spread of antibiotics resistance, [2]. Media plays a big part in portraying alcohol to be something that young Australians feel they need to try. Media does not just refer to their portrayal in television shows and movies, but also the role advertisements have on television, radio, music, billboards, internet, signs, video games, public transport and magazines. Television advertisement plays a major role in the attraction of alcohol to adolescence, and a key aspect of this is the timeslot in which they are shown. This includes cartoons and programs ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Many youth even try to study these portrayals in order to look and act like the people they see in the ads. They often show that increased social status and an overall acceptance by society will most certainly be the result of consumption. This gets even more complicated when celebrities and role models often associated with adolescence are portrayed with alcohol, as the younger generation will feel more compelled to try alcohol if their role models do. This can lead to a subconscious abuse of alcohol simply due to the fact that they don t know any better. Advertisements aren t the only form of media that draws younger viewers in. Movies and television programs that depict main, or even minor, characters consuming alcohol can also cause adolescence to feel that there must not be that many negative effects if these people are doing it, or that the negative effects must be worth it. The Tort Of Negligence Developed A tort might be stated as a civil wrong not happening out of a contract or a relationship created on trust, which is considered by a harm of the legal right preserved on others and an act for repressible damages. Therefore the objective of torts is toward recompense the victim and not penalizes the wrong person. Before we start a ride into in what way tort lawoperates it would be sensible to know the nature of the torts committed and their growths over the years. This would not lone help in considerate the current situation in a clearer manner but can also deliver a logic of history about torts. During the early primary 1800 s the tort of negligence developed as a single type of torts owed to the fact that events in the tort of negligence were growing suggestively throughout that period. Then, the awareness of the imposition of a duty of care in negligence developed alongside cases such as Heaven v Pender (1883), and extra outstandingly case of Donoghue v Stevenson (1932) that remains the leading case in negligence. This case clarifies that; Mrs Donoghue and her pal went to a cafe in Paisley. He was the second youngest of six children. Before Charles Darwin, there were many scientists throughout his family. His father, Dr. Robert Darwin, was a medical doctor, and his grandfather, Dr. Erasmus Darwin, was a well known botanist. Darwin s mother, Susannah Darwin, died when he was only eight years old. Darwin was a child that came from wealth and privilege and who loved to explore nature. In October 1825 at age sixteen, Darwin enrolled at Edinburgh University with his brother Erasmus. Darwin believed all plants and animals had changed from past families by natural selection. An example of natural selection would be the different coloration between beetles (Understanding Evolution, 2008). There are two different colored beetles, one is brown and the other is green. Since the environment cannot have an overpopulation, the green beetles will get consumed by birds and not be able to survive and reproduce as much as the brown beetles. The brown beetles have offspring because the trait has a genetic basis. When they produce more offspring, they become more common in the environment and if this process continues, the population of beetles will be mostly brown. Certain characteristics are innate within a species which help them reproduce and survive more than other species with no such inborn characteristics. These species will become more favorable and most common in the population. Darwin s theory of natural selection favors organisms that are prone to adapting well to the environment, it makes it easy to pass on their genes stabilizing the population and making it stronger. Species begin to die out according to, what Darwin calls, survival of the fittest. Darwin s Survival of the Fittest theory is a natural process resulting in the development of a species best adapted to the environment. This is when the species only the species that are best adapted the environment and its conditions are able to survive and reproduce. If they are not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Therapeutic recreation is a process that utilizes recreation and education as a way to enable a being with any type of disorder, mentally, physically or emotionally. My personal belief is that recreation can be used to help anyone become happier or more comfortable than they already are. To put it simply, I believe that therapeutic recreation is a very organized way to help people, no matter the circumstance, without prejudices, or discrimination, and judgments. It doesn t matter whether the person was born with a disability, physically or mentally, or even if they were born with no disability and are considered to be clinically healthy , I believe as a TR representative it is our job to improve the lives of others in any way we possibly can because if someone isn t as happy as they can be we theoretically can at least try to help. Although I have yet to work in a therapeutic recreational type environment, I feel that I have learned many helpful skills that translate from other fields that I can apply to the field of TR. This past summer I worked two jobs in two completely different fields from each other and therapeutic recreation. On the issue of gay people s service, they say, if military commanders maintain that allowing gays and lesbians to serve openly would be detrimental to morale and discipline, then courts and public should respect that decision. Defenders of the ban and of the military s current policy dispute the notion that military personnel should be afforded the same constitutional protections as civilians. Policy supporters maintain that the military is a unique institution with its own set of rules. Opponents of the current policy believe that while the military may have a ... • 21. Marshmallow Experiment Dbq The Marshmallow Experiment Does willpower matter? According to an experiment that took place in 1968, children who had more willpower generally ended up being more successful than those that were not able to control themselves. The marshmallow experiment is an experiment that involved four year olds where they were given the option to either one marshmallow immediately, or if they waited fifteen minutes they would receive two marshmallows. I believe that willpower plays a major part in being successful. When the experiment was revisited at the University of Rochester they found out, Behavioral cues play a big role in determining who holds out for that second marshmallow, and the results call into question how much self control actually has to do with it. (Source 2) There are some people that say that self control does not have to do much with the experiment, however, the children that took place in the experiment in 1968 were coming up with strategies to avoid the marshmallow. They would avoid thinking about the marshmallow and did just about anything to avoid thinking about the marshmallow. Some of the other children were not able to control themselves and rang the bell almost immediately. Self control is a major key to delayed gratification. In source 2 it says, If a child or adult lives in an environment where promises always get broken and outcomes are unreliable, the most rational response is to eat the marshmallow right in front of her and not wait for the promised marshmallows in the future. This can be true but self control and mindset come into play here as well. If you can control yourself to wait and have the mindset that the marshmallow that was promised will be delivered you will be able to wait. The four time Super Bowl champions have a few negative qualities, including bad defenses in the past and recent years of unsuccessful playoff runs. However, the negatives do not outweigh the team s powerhouse offense and Super Bowl trophies. The team was founded in 1919 and had very little success until 1929. This is the start of the Green Bay Packersthat most people know as Titletown . From 1929 to present day, the Packers have won 13 championships. That being the most championships won by a single team in NFL history. While the Green Bay Packers are a very successful team, they have had their up s and down s. One of the team s biggest strengths is their powerhouse offense. But the man under center is what makes that powerhouse offense run. That man is Aaron Rodgers. Aaron Rodgers is one of the best quarterbacks in the league if not the best. His statistics are unbelievable. He has the highest quarterback rating in NFL history at 103.8, while the second closest is 98.9. He has thrown 300 touchdowns to only 74 interceptions. Thomas Hobbes Leviathan Hobbes, in Leviathan, immediately embarks on an ambitious task: not to explain tedious small morals, but rather those qualities of mankind, that concern their living together in peace, and unity (Hobbes, 239). Hobbes asserts that no ultimate goal or greatest good exist; a universal goal in life simply does not exist. Thus, no natural hierarchy can be established with respects to an individual s capacity to achieve this ultimate good i.e. no one person is naturally better than the rest in achieving some virtuous goal because no such goal exists. The alignment of human existence, therefore, is not towards an ultimate good, but rather to avoid the ultimate evil: death. Therefore, the voluntary actions, and inclinations of all men, tend,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although commonly interpreted as being such, the state of nature is not equivalent to everyone acting out of self preservation. The state of nature arises from humans ill perception of what is, in fact, self preservation. While we may wish to act out of self preservation, we often seek to satisfy immediate needs without considering the consequences, thus leading to conflict. Likewise, Hobbes thinks we are often too concerned with others perceptions of ourselves, evident by his discussion of glory as a principle cause of quarrel. Humans ought to follow the laws of self preservation, and thereby ought to endeavor peace, but yet, our shortsightedness prevents us from doing so. An objection may be that there is no strong evidence that shows that self preservation leads to peace. To explain this, I turn to Aristotle and his teleological explanation of human nature. Aristotle believed that the good of human beings must be that at which the activity of living a human life aims at. What would a human life aim at living other than living itself? Self preservation is the excellence that Aristotle valued, and, as Aristotle argued, excellence leads to happiness, or ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The reasoning behinds this is that it has a great symbolic meaning to it. The color symbolizes anything in the real world that has been tainted by the other world and is used to suggest really explosively emotional moments and situations. A scene that helps support this is when Cole was at the birthday party. Cole s red jumper at the kid s party, and the red balloon, both pre empt the ghost sobbing in the wall. It has also been said that the image of the balloon rising up towards the light through the center of the spiral staircase is representative of a spirit rising up towards God, with the staircase representing life s journey. The fact that Cole wears red here could be symbolic of his situation at this point: he is naive and uncertain, but is drawn to the voices nonetheless. Red is the color of the spirit world, and so by wearing it he is inadvertently drawing spirits towards him. Whenever Cole was scared he would run to the Church which had a big red door, or he would run to his sanctuary which was a red tent in his house. So, contradictorily, red is both a color of danger and ghosts, and of safety and refuge. I think the key to understanding this contradiction is in religion and all its contradictions and promises. • 38. Penalty Shots In Soccer And Field Hockey Penalty Shots in Soccer and Field Hockey Why it is easier to score a soccer penalty shot than a field hockey penalty stroke Ryan Andrew 23.05.2017 11TH Grade Physics INTRODUCTION Soccer and field hockey are two of the most widely played field sports in the world. Both sports involve a team of players moving a ball around a field, and attempting to score in their opposing team s goal. At certain points in the game, if the opposing team has infringed upon certain rules, soccer players may take a penalty shot and hockey players a penalty stroke. The penalty shot (soccer) involves the player kicking the ball from 11m in front of the goal s centre, and attempting to get it past the goalie, who is the one player allowed to defend against the shot. A penalty stroke (hockey) is essentially the same as a penalty shot, but the player stands 6.4 metres from the goal centre, and they hit the ball using a stick. It is believed that it is easier to score a penalty shot in soccer than a penalty stroke in hockey, for the reasons outlined below. DISCUSSION Ball Speed and Goalkeeper reaction time/s: The average reaction time of a goalie has been previously investigated by Taskin et al., and found to be 225.59 milliseconds (2016). Secondary data for average ball speeds for field hockey and soccer were located, and a calculation revealed the amount of time that goalies would have to act in if they react from when the ball is hit (see journal pages 5 6). These figures would suggest that it would be easier for a goalie to block the ball, but given that the goalie must move much further to protect the ends of the goal area, it is, in fact, harder to score past the hockey goalkeeper than the soccer one. Goal Coverage: It has been calculated that the ratio of the percentage of the goal covered by the goalie to the percentage of the goal covered by the ball was, for soccer, 82.14:1, and for hockey it was 827:1 (see journal pages 3 5). If you are on the attacking team (the team that is attempting the shot), you want this ratio to be small, as it allows the ball more area to move in that the goalie cannot cover standing still. As such, it is evidence that it is easier to score a soccer penalty shot than a hockey penalty ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Often these are very disconnected from reality that the readers are almost always aware that they are reading a book. That however is not the case with Neil Gaiman. His characters and situations are always tied back to the reality we live in. As outrageous as events get in his worlds there s always an element of reality, a real world problem that sucks the reader in. The mirror , Foucault writes, functions as a heterotopia in this respect: it makes this place that I occupy at the moment when I look at myself in the glass at once absolutely real, connected with all the space that surrounds it, and absolutely unreal, since in order to be perceived it has to pass through this virtual point which is over there (Of Other Spaces, 4). Gaiman s worlds do exactly that, the reader can perceive this entire new world as real as the one he lives in but the quirky elements would suggest otherwise because they are in fact within the borders of virtual. However, that which is virtual does not mean it is completely out of reality as Foucault s description of heterotopia suggests. The mirroring element to Gaiman s work shows that they cannot be qualified either as utopias but dystopias, they are mere reflections of mundane reality. In one of his lectures We writers [...] have an obligation to our readers , Gaiman says, it s the obligation to write true things, especially important when we are creating tales of people who do not exist in places that never were to understand that truth is not in what happens but what it tells us about who we are. In the play fences the perspective on racism has trickled down from generation to generation. Firstly before Troy even knew what racism was his father was greatly affected by it. Troy s father was profoundly affected by slavery during his time of life. Troy said that all his father wanted was for them to learn how to walk so they could work. The only thing my daddy cared about about was getting them bales of cotton in to Mr. Lubin, this shows how slavery and racism greatly affected Troy s father. Due to his father being so caught up in his work he treated Troy and his siblings very poorly, which kind of influenced Troy s views on white people. Troy and his son Cory have a really heavily impacted love hate relationship. Troy and Cory both view racism and white people in various types of ways. Firstly on page 2 Troy states Why you got the white mens driving and the colored lifting, this already shows a discrepancy that Troy has towards white people. Troy views him and his friends unequally to the white people in the society during the time period. Now Troy sees that he has a lack of equality compared to white people. Did white people feel they had more privilege compared to blacks? It s just a perspective that Troy has about white people right off the back, now he later runs into some conflict with his loved ones. One of the biggest disagreement points in the story revolved around Cory wanting to pursue his dream in college football due to the scholarship he had been offered. The white man ain t gonna let him get nowhere with that football, said troy, again this quote shows a lack of trust in white people as he believes that one of the white recruiters won t really take Cory and that Cory will never make a living out of it. What Troy does not understand is that times ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 42. Women s Movement During The Civil Rights Movement The activism era was an era where different groups of people worked to change how things were seen and done in America. These people took different social issues and brought them to the front of the table to be discussed and noticed by the American people. Although many of them caused great controversy, all of the movements made a great impact on how our country is the way that is is today. The Civil Rights Movement, Women s movement, and counterculture were all different movements during the activism era, however, they were all working towards a common goal: equality. One of the most popular and successful movements of the era was the Civil Rights Movement. The Civil Rights Movement consisted of African Americanand white citizens wanting to get rid of discrimination in America. There were different approaches to this movement including mostly nonviolent approaches. Martin Luther King Jr. once said that Negroes had been humiliated and oppressed just for the sole fact that they were Negro citizens. This shows us what African Americans went through during that time, and it also shows us why they wanted equality. Another movement that was modeled after the Civil Rights movement was the Women s movement.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Speaking to those that are experienced in the field is something that many young entrepreneurs would love to hear more about. My final question that I would ask is: What was a major hurdle that you had to get over in the early stages of Zipcar? I would ask this because overcoming obstacles is something that everyone can relate to and when you see a majorly successful businesswoman it is often forgotten that they had to overcome obstacles. A showy and occasionally inappropriate woman, Big Mama is just like Maggie in that both are married to men who cannot stand them. Big Mama is openly devoted to her husband, and throughout their whole marriage, she has stood by him. Despite Big Daddy s frequent insults, Big Mama refuses to become offended and does not allow the marriage to fall apart. The difference between Maggie and Big Mama is that although Big Mama has a very hard marriage, she has had children and served her husband well. A good wifes role was to serve her husband s comfort and know her place. The man was the master of the house, and therefore it was inappropriate for the woman to complain to her husband and talk about her problems. Listening to the man was important because his conversation topics were the most important. A problem Maggie has is that although she wants to be an ideal wife and mother, she does not carry out all parts of the expectation. She is stubborn and against to taking into account what Brick wants, and she continuously complains and fights with him. Big Mama on the other hand is a piteous character in that she is so desperate to stay away from problems and argument that she embarrasses herself in order to avoid them. • 46. Ethos In Joe Clark Joe Clark uses the appeal of credibility of character, also known as ethos, to encourage his students and teachers at Eastside High to work hard and improve. One example of how Mr. Clark showed ethos is at the beginning of the movie when he first came in and kicked out all of the bad students from the stage. These students were the worst of the worst, they had been selling and using drugs and not doing anything to improve in school. By coming right in and laying the hammer down on the students, this showed the students that there is now authority in the school and they cannot keep messing around. The school had not seen any type of real leaders in the school in a while, and that is why it got so bad there. With Joe Clark arriving, things will surely change. Another example of ethosin this movie is how Mr. Clark ensured that each one of the students lives were doing okay and they had a place to stay. He would always ask people how they were doing in the hallway and that made the students look up to him as a person who really did care for them. Joe took the time and personally went to Kaneesha s house and made sure she had a safe place to permanently stay and convinced her mom to keep letting her live there. This put Kaneesha s trust in Mr. Clark as a person she can really rely on and look up to. A final example of when Joe Clark used ethos is when he said that everyone could succeed on the test and in life if they are really willing to put the work in for it. He said he truly believed in them that they will pass if they become motivated. Joe saying that he believed in the students put encouragement in them that they had possibly never seen. Another way that Joe Clark motivated the students and staff of Eastside to work harder is by using the appeal of Logos, or statistics and logic. A powerful example of when Mr. Clark used logos is when he had a meeting with all of the staff and made 70% of them put their hands up to signify the 70% of students who failed the exam. This really made the staff really think that they can make a big difference in these kids lives. Another example of when Joe Clark used logos to get the students motivated is when he made a speech before they took the exam. He made the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

According to the article, Who We Are written by Emily Barone, the income gap is wider than ever before in America. The income gap is wider than ever. Climbing out of poverty is increasingly difficult. There is an article called CEOs Get Paid Too Much, According to Pretty Much Everyone in the World by Ms. Gavett. The article is interesting to point out the differences in CEO pay gaps according to the minimum wages around the world. The article also gives what many people perceive as an ideal pay gap between the wealthy and poor around the world. I was not surprised to see that the America CEO pay gap is the highest in the world and by a large margin. The ideal pay gap for America according to the study should be around 6.7 to 1 in America. For example, the largest desired ratio difference Australia at 8.3 to 1 would be hypothetically making over $500,000 a year. (Gavett, 2014, p. 1) While most Americans feel that CEO pay gap is larger at around 30 to 1. However, Americans would be stunned to know America s real wage gap related to CEO to the worker. America s real pay gap is the highest in the world at 350 to 1. Many of the heated debates about whether CEO pay should be capped or the minimum wage increased are debates based on an extreme lack of knowledge about the true state of affairs. • 49. Women s Influence Of Women In The Renaissance The Renaissance is defined most simply as a time period of societies renewed interest in the importance of art, education, literature and architecture. These ideals inspired many people to make advancements in these fields and make their mark on history. Before the Renaissance began, women were shoved into the background; they were not given many opportunities to lead their own lives. This reform movement guided women away from the oppression of societal norms and allowed them to form their own personas by becoming inspiring authors, arguing for their equality to men, and using the societal situations to become inspirations to others. In society in the 1300 s, women had integral parts in the running of a family and household. They cared for the children and visitors, while also looking after their husbands accounts. This meant that women were expected to keep themselves out of the public eye and behave according to their social class. In the online article it is stated that, First a woman was a daughter and then a wife, mother, or widow. In contrast, male roles were generally defined by social position or occupation ( Women In The Renaissance and Reformation ). This proves that women were held to certain expectations and standards. These standards kept women under the control of supreme male authority and did not give them the freedom to lead their own lives. Women were silenced before the Renaissance period. Society told women they were to be respectful daughters and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
