One contemporary problem of health is obesity. Obesity is considered a lifestyle
disease since it is not infectious or contagious and because it is chronic. But since
it is labeled as a lifestyle disease, many people, both lay people and experts, only
look at overweight and obese individual s lifestyles and criticizes them. But not to
look at wider possibilities that could be having a great influence on this epidemic
(Warwick Booth, Cross, and Lowcock, 2012). This can be seen in how people talk
about obesity and also obese and overweight people. It also affects how people try
to solve this problem. The most popular view about how obesity is formed and
why it is increasing is that people are eating a lot more food or more calorically
dense foods and not exercising enough. Which is true, people are not as active or
eating as healthily as before. This could be due to more busy lifestyles where
people cannot work out as much or prepare healthy meals at home so they eat out.
Life in modernized countries has become very convenient, we have cars and other
types of transport, plus we have grocery stores (in most places), convenient stores,
vending machines in many public builds, restaurants (both fancy and fast food)
that we can go to or deliver to us and we can order junk food online to have junk
food from different countries. This causes less activity since now we don t need to
close by walk places, but it also causes less healthy food choices since they are of an

What s wrong with the world today? That we can t pray at a football game, but
cussing the ref. is okay? (Goodson) This country was founded by people who were
tired of the way their government was telling them how to worship God. And that
is exactly what is happening now. Our government doesn t want the atheists to get
offended so they hurt the majority of the people by going against our own God
and telling us not to pray for the safety of some people. The Bible tells us to pray
without cease. And why should we stop? The prayer is even asking for the safety
of the atheists. We don t say the prayer, Please God keep all the Christians safe from
injury. We pray for the safety of EVERYBODY.
If the government would be a little less involved in our religious beliefs or non
beliefs, we might have a balanced budget or less of a debt. The constitution grants us
the right to freedom of religion. We re not asking that atheists be converted
Christians. If they don t want to participate, they can go to the bathroom or put on
some headphones. As an ex atheist and recently converted Christian, a prayer never
offended me. They shouldn t be offended either.

Hutsi Groups In Rwanda
The country of Rwanda is a small, land locked country in Eastern Africa. By the early
1990s, Rwanda s population of 7 million people was composed of three ethnic groups.
Approximately 85% was Hutu, 14% was Tutsi, and the remaining 1% was Twa
(United Nations, 2015). Animosity between the Hutu and Tutsi groups had grown
substantially since the European colonialization period in the 1800s. During the
colonialization period, European colonists considered the slimmer, taller, lighter
skinned Tutsis to be superior to the shorter, stockier, darker skinned Hutus
(Putterbaugh, 2010). As the Tutsis were more like the Europeans, they were treated

Although the culprits of the crime are still currently unknown, Hutu extremists
blamed the leaders of the Rwandan Patriotic Front (RPF), a Tutsi group. Within an
hour of the crash, the Hutu extremists began their systematic massacre of hundreds of
Tutsis and moderate Hutus (History.com, 2009). Roadblocks were set up throughout
the country to prevent the Tutsis from escaping. Hate radio stations, like the Radio

Rheumatoid Arthritis Case Study
I chose to research Rheumatoid Arthritis because two people that I am close with
suffer from this disease. This terrible diagnosis has impacted their life greatly. My
best friend was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis at the early age of thirteen.
When she first started experiencing joint pains, her doctor misdiagnosed it as
growing pains, because she was the tallest one in her class. After many months of
prolonged pain the doctor decided to reassess the problem, and concluded that she
was experiencing the onset of Rheumatoid Arthritis. At the time my friend was
modeling, so she was always on her feet. After a while she was unable to continue
this hobby because the was experiencing so much pain in her knees. The doctor
prescribed her steroid injections that she could give herself when her mobility was

important, 2016). Researchers have found that the genetic makeup of a person can

Boone Recital Hall Performance Essay
I attended the December 8th student recital at 7:30pm in Boone Recital Hall. I saw
performances from ZoГ« Tucker, Leah Jeffers, Aleesha Yan, and Saif Saigol, all
accompanied on the piano by Kyungmi Kim. ZoГ« Tucker is a soprano and sang
the Italian aria Se tu m ami with great pronunciation. ZoГ« seemed a little nervous
at first, but gradually became more comfortable as the piece continued. ZoГ« wore
a flattering black dress with a long sparkly skirt, and black flats. Her breathing was
rather silent with little shoulder movement, but the rise and fall of her chest was
rather noticeable. ZoГ« had nice clear high notes with vibrato that rang throughout
the performance hall. ZoГ« did a good job of making the performance dynamic by
varying her volume throughout and was very engaged with the lyrics giving the
impression that she had a good understanding of the meaning behind the aria. Leah
Jeffers is a soprano and performed the German aria Die Nacht and the French aria Je
veux vivre from Romeo and Juliet. Leah was very comfortable on stage, with a lovely

Hemingway...
One of the most important aspects of a work of fiction is the development and use
of characters. Edgar Allen Poe and Ernest Hemingway are two of the best writers
at developing intriguing characters that serve many purposes, and have
subsequently been analyzed for decades. Poe s The Cask of Amontillado and
Hemingway s Hills Like White Elephants are two prime examples of brilliant
character development and usage. Poe and Hemingway develop and utilize their
characters in varying ways. For example, while Poe s characters in The Cask of
Amontilladohave symbolic first names, Hemingway s characters in Hills Like
White Elephants do not even have their first names mentioned. Poe and Hemingway
prove in their respective works that characters can serve purposes far beyond simply
executing the actions that take place in the work. Poe gives the characters in The

Ethical Issues Facing Walmart
This case study involves America s largest and most recognizable retail chains.
Walmart steadily grew from its founding in 1962 as a small Arkansas based retail
store into the multi national giant that it is today. One of the issues that Walmart s
unprecedented growth has raised is how it can maintain the ethical standards and
principles held by its founder, Sam Walton, when it has grown past its humble roots
and continues to grow in an ever more competitive and hectic world. Some of the
current ethical issues that Walmart is facing are the treatment of its employees, the
methods it employs to obtain retail goods at low prices, the sustainability of its
products, and the use of bribery to further corporate interests (Ferrell 407). Therefore,

Since the first days of nursing school, nurses have always been taught to advocate for

Everyone strives to go to college and get a degree in something they love to do.
There is just one small problem in the way of many people s dreams, college
textbooks. Now at first it sounds pretty dumb until you see that the average student in

in the 80s. In the 90s the firm tried to increase its world visibility linking its image

A Common Problem Today For Adolescent Christians
A common problem today for adolescent Christians is the lack of intimacy with God,
and not fully experiencing Christ in their lives. The solution to this problem can be
found in the spiritual disciplines. Spiritual disciplines are practices that aid in
transforming believers into the image of Christ, and help them to develop a more
intimate relationship with Christ. They help to bring a Christian into the presence of
God, and to bring them a portion of heaven. According to Isaac Ambrose, an English
Puritan minister from the seventeenth century, spiritual disciplines are the vehicles to
God. He said: ...the saints look upon duties (the Word, Sacraments, Prayers, etc.) as
bridges to give them a passage to God, as boats to carry them into the bosom of
Christ, as means to bring them into more intimate communion with their heavenly
Father, and therefore are they so much taken with them (Schwanda 1). Ambrose
argued that through spiritual disciplines, one could experience an intimate
relationship with God. The spiritual disciplines are broken into three categories,
inward, outward, and corporate. From these three categories, the three main focuses
are meditation, service, and worship. Through the application of these three spiritual
disciplines, the main goal is to enter a deeper, more intimate relation with Christ and
to be shaped into the image of Christ. The first spiritual discipline is meditation.
