Childhood
Gerald Ford was born on July 14th, 1913 in Omaha, Nebraska. His birth name was Leslie Lynch
King Jr., after his father. Ford s mother, Dorothy Ayer Gardner King, left King roughly two weeks
after his birth. Oddly enough, Ford did not know about his biological father until he was 17.
