This document provides instructions for opening PowerPoint and performing basic tasks like inserting text, themes, backgrounds, transitions, animations, sounds, headers/footers, and notes. It explains that to open PowerPoint, the user can click Start then All Programs > Microsoft Office > PowerPoint, or click Start then Run and type "PowerPoint". 2. HOW TO OPEN POWER POINT
 CLICK START
 GOTO ALL PROGRAMS OR PROGRAMS
 GOTO MICROSOFT OFFICE
 THEN CLICK ON MICROSOFT OFFICE POWER POINT 2007
OR 2010
OR
 CLICK START
 CLICK ON RUN
 THEN TYPE POWERPNT
 THEN PRESS ENTER OR CLICK OK

3. TO START & TAKE NEW SLIDE
1. Select any type of slide from the ‘New
Slide Icon under ‘HOME’.
2. Choose type of slide .
3. Enter Text and Picture.
4. To insert new slide click on New Slide

4. TO INSERT TEXT BOX
1. Click on INSERT.
2. Click on TEXT BOX .
3. Click left mouse button and drag to
specify text area.
4. Type text.

5. TO SELECT SLIDE THEMES
1. Select any type of slide design
themes from the different theme list
under ‘Design’.
2. Click on selected type of slide
theme .
3. Entire theme will be changed.

6. For Different Slide design background
1. GOTO ‘Design menu’.
2. Then Click on “Background Styles”.
3. Then Click on Format Background.
For single colour
For multiple colour from preset
For texture from texture option
for Picture from file or clip art option

7. TO INSERT SLIDE TRANSITION/ ANIMATION -
CLICK ON TRANSITION
FOUR DIFFERENT SLIDE ANIMATION
1. Slide transition style
2. Slide transition sound
3. Slide transition time
4.Advance slide
SET TIME
Click on Individual style to different slide or click
“Apply to All” to give same effect on every slide.

8. FOUR TYPES OF CUSTOM ANIMATION
1. ENTRANCE:- HOW SELECTED THING WILL ENTER THE
SLIDE
2. EMPHASIS:- HOW SELECTED THING WILL BE
EMPHASISED OR HIGHLIGHTED OR SPIN
3. EXIT:- HOW SELECTED THING WILL GO OUT OF SLIDE
4.MOTION PATH:- HOW SELECTED THING WOULD
CHANGE POSITON OR SHIFT POSITION
Custom animation can be
only applied on any shape;
picture or text box

9. TO INSERT SOUND
1. Click on INSERT.
2. Click on Sound.
3. Click on “Sound from File”.
4. Select sound file by browsing computer
and click “Ok”
5. Then a message will appear for getting
your choice about sound playing option.
6. Click “Automatically” or “when Clicked”.
(Automatically is preferable)
