The Flexural rigidity of fabric’s bending stiffness is important for both consumer and industrial applications of fabrics. While fabric stiffness may not be wanted too high for a good drape in apparel and garment fabrics, it may be an important requirement especially for industrial fabrics to be used widely in heavy duty applications such as geotextiles and forming fabrics. For example, a forming fabric that easily bends under load and its own weight between the drive rolls may cause poor sheet formation during process.
The compact spinning is a process where fiber strand drawn by drafting system is condensed before twisting it.Following methods are used by machine manufacturers to condense the fiber strand.
1. Aerodynamic condensing.
2. Mechanical condensing.
3. Magnetic condensing.
Compact spinning has a promising future because of the higher production and improved quality of compact yarns

Analysis of Stranded Multi-Conductor Cable in Multilayered Dielectric MediaJimmi James
ABSTRACT
Due to complexity of electromagnetic modeling, researchers and scientists always look for development of accurate and fast methods to extract the parameters of electronic transmission cables. These parameters play a critical role in various applications like electro surgery, fault location in cables and many more. In this paper, the modeling of stranded multiconductor cable in multilayered dielectric media is illustrated. We specifically determine the distributed parameters of two wire transmission lines in two-layered dielectric media. The effect of frequency change on the parameters is also discussed. This numerical analysis was successfully implemented for modeling of a cable which connects the hand piece of an electro surgical device to its generator. Comparison of the theoretical and the practically measured results is demonstrated with good agreements.
Design and modeling of solenoid inductor integrated with FeNiCo in high frequ...TELKOMNIKA JOURNAL
In this work, the design and modeling of the solenoid inductor are discussed. The layout of integrated inductors with magnetic cores and their geometrical parameters are developed. The quality factor Q and inductance value L are derived from the S-parameters and plotted versus frequency. The effect of solenoid inductor geometry on inductance and quality factor are studied via simulation using MATLAB. The solenoid inductor geometry parameters considered are the turn’s number, the magnetic core length, the width of a magnetic core, the gap between turns, the magnetic core thickness, the coil thickness, and solenoid inductor oxide thickness. The performance of the proposed solenoid inductor integrated with FeNiCo is compared with other solenoid inductors.
Design of the Probe Sensor for the TDR Soil Moisture Sensor SystemIJLT EMAS
The probe sensor is of two parallel plates type which is used to determine the moisture content of the soil. The probe sensor is connected to a resistance to time period converter circuit of the TDR soil moisture sensor system whose output time period depends upon the resistance of the soil which in turn depends upon the moisture content of the soil acting as medium between the plates of the probe sensor. The TDR probe sensor is designed and simulated using the Integrated Electro software in order to determine the effects of the parameters like length, thickness and gap between the plates on electric field and energy density. The simulation results are used to predict and determine the geometry of the probe sensor, the materials that should be used in making the plates of the probe sensor and coating the plates of the probe sensor for reducing the effects of the fringing field and noise in the environment.

The Q-factor of the sensor is 174.
the effect of nickel incorporation on some physical properties of epoxy resinINFOGAIN PUBLICATION
The J-E characteristics of samples of epoxy resins mixed with nickel powder in different concentrations have been tested and a log-log straight line behaviour in both the low- and high field regions is observed. Ni-concentration has significant influence on the calculated constants of the J-E relationship. The d.c. electrical resistivity (ρ) of the samples are measured from the room temperature up to about 400 K. The variation of ρ with T obeys the exponential relation of ordinary dielectrics in three temperature regions. The parameters characterizing the ρ -T dependence change considerably with Ni-concentration. Due to the existence of nickel in different concentration a "true" compensation effect is observed with three characteristic compensation temperatures. The mechanical hardness of the samples was investigated as a function of Ni-concentration.

Electrical transport properties of nanocrystalline and bulk nickel.pdfProximaCentauri15
In this work, the comparative study on the electrical transport properties of nanocrystalline nickel
ferrite (NiFe2O4) and its bulk counterpart has been carried out in detail by using complex impedance
spectroscopy in a wide range of frequencies (100 Hz–1 MHz) and temperatures (40 °C–320 °C). The
dispersive nature of the dielectric constant and loss factor is explained by the Maxwell-Wagner model
and Koop’s phenomenological theory. The value of the dielectric constant for nanocrystalline nickel
ferrite is found to be more as compared to its bulk counterpart. The frequency variation dielectric
permittivity is well fitted with the modified Debye formula, which suggests the presence of multiple
relaxation processes. The temperature dependent ac conductivity follows Jonscher’s universal power
law and reveals the presence of multiple transport mechanisms from small polaron hopping (SPH) to
correlated barrier hopping (CBH) mechanism near 200 °C. The estimated values of Mott parameters
are found to be satisfactory. Thermally activated relaxation phenomena have been confirmed by
scaling curves of imaginary impedance (Z) andmodulus (M). The comparison between the Z and
M spectra indicates that both long-range and short-rangemovement of charge carriers contribute to
dielectric relaxation with short-range charge carriers predominating at low temperatures while longrange
charge carriers are dominating at high temperatures. Analysis of the semicircular arcs of Nyquist
plot indicates the presence of grain boundary contribution to the electrical conduction process for the
nanocrystalline sample at high temperatures. The non-Debye type of relaxation has been examined by
stretching exponential factor (β) which has been estimated by fitting the modifiedKWW
(Kohlrausch-Williams-Watts) equation to the imaginary electric modulus curve. The value of β is
found to be strongly temperature dependent and its value for the nanocrystalline sample is less than
that of the bulk system which is explained on the basis of dipole-dipole interaction.
Heat transfer is the exchange of thermal energy between physical systems. The rate of heat transfer is dependent on the temperatures of the systems and the properties of the intervening medium through which the heat is transferred.

True Bayesians actually consider conditional probabilities as more basic than joint probabilities. It is easy to define P(A|B) without reference to the joint probability P(A,B). To see this note that we can rearrange the conditional probability formula to get:
P(A|B) P(B) = P(A,B)

Embracing GenAI - A Strategic ImperativePeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

3. INTRODUCTION.
Fibers and textile materials have been the
subject of study in relation to electrical and
dielectric behavior for a long time. Research
on the electrical and dielectric properties of
such materials has been carried out in many
directions.
4. DIELECTRIC PROPERTIES DEPEND ON
Textile materials such as fabrics and yarns are
basically assemblies of fibers. The fibers are
generally made of linear long chain polymers
and have a large length to diameter ratio.
Hence, the behavior of textile materials as
dielectrics depends on the dielectric behavior of
the fibers and also on the fiber forming
polymers.
5. DIELECTRIC PROPERTIES OF
POLYMERS.
Based on such studies, the following types of
molecular motion and their associated
dielectric relaxation were identified:
(i) Primary main chain motion in both crystalline
and amorphous regions,
(ii) Secondary main chain motion in both
crystalline and amorphous regions,
(iii) Side chain motions, and
(iv) Impurity motions.
6. DIELECTRIC PROPERTIES OF
POLYMERS.
The relaxation processes that occur in a
particular polymer are denoted as α,β,γ,σ in
the order of the increasing frequency at
which they occur for a fixed temperature.
7. MEASUREMENT METHODS OF
DIELECTRIC PROPERTIES OF FIBERS
AND TEXTILES..
Shaw and Windle reported a measurement
technique at 3 GHz using a modified cavity
resonator which is schematically shown in
Figure1. When a cavity is excited to resonance
at a frequency f0, in the fundamental or TM010
mode, the electric field in the cavity is directed
parallel to the cylinder axis.
8. MEASUREMENT METHODS OF
DIELECTRIC PROPERTIES OF FIBERS
AND TEXTILES….
The effectiveness of such a resonator for
dielectric constant measurements is due to
the fact that when a dielectric specimen is
placed in the cavity the resonance frequency
is changed and such change in frequency can
be related quantitatively to the dielectric
properties of the specimen.
