TEACHING AIDS
AND
MATHEMATICS
OBJECTIVES:
At the end of lesson, students will be able to:
• define A.V.aids with two examples
• differentiate between different kinds of A.V. aids.
TEACHINGAIDS
All those materials/ aids which try to make the
knowledge clear to us through our senses.

understandings of the learner
 A textbook is usually lent to students by a school to
accompany a course the school is teaching.
BLACK BOARD
Oldest, simple, easily available, for all subjects,
Clarify concepts, make diagrams, summarize
points, gain attention of students, cheaper, use
again & again
Unable to present two dimensional images,
careless work done may be worse, if chalk
• A white board is a glossy, usually white surface for
nonpermanent markings.
WHITE BOARD
BULLETIN BOARD
Used to display pictures / information
Interest creating device, provide info, permanent as displays can

 Scale: duplicate the appearance of real objects
 Diagrammatic: emphasized the selected feature and
suppressed others for clarity
 Large size, visible, must resemble the actual
specimen, low cost hand made models
OVER HEAD PROJECTOR
Highly versatile
Portable
Used for large class
Saves time as compared to writing
board
Transparencies are used – simple ,
readable- permanent
