Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs is presented as a triangle with five levels. The bottom level includes physiological needs like food and water. The next level up is safety needs, followed by love and belonging. Esteem needs are fourth, and self-actualization is at the top. The hierarchy suggests that lower level needs must be satisfied before progressing to meet higher level needs.

Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs was created
by Abraham Maslow, who was born on 1st
April 1908 and died on the 8th June 1970
and was an American psychologist.

3. Physiological
These needs are physical requirements for humans to survive.
They are seen as the most important needs and that they
should be met first.They are requirements for survival in
animals and humans.

4. Safety
Once a persons physiological needs have been successful they
can now move on to safety requirements in order to be free
from the threat of physical and emotional harm. If a person does
not feel safe in an environment, they will seek to find safety
before trying to move up the triangle.

5. Love/Belonging
After physiological and safety needs are fulfilled, the third level
of the pyramid needs to be met. It includes friendship, family
and sexual intimacy. Friendships means the start of building a
relationship with someone for their company, family which can
include wanting to spend a lot of time with and be close to.

6. Esteem
The fourth level of the pyramid.The factors are self-esteem,
confidence, achievement, respect of others and respect by
others. As the levels in the pyramid increase they become more
important, harder and will take longer to achieve as they involve
more difficult developments.

7. Self-actualization
The top level of the pyramid.The factors include morality,
creativity, spontaneity, problem solving, lack of prejudice and
acceptance of facts. “Maslow describes this level as the desire to
accomplish everything that one can, to become the most that
one can be”.This section is making sure you have achieved all he
previous stages the best they can be completed.
