Managing the how goods and services enter or leave this country (import/export) is an important
process that allows for us to control the economic status of our nation. Sometimes imposing tariffs on
the goods imported balances our labor cost, resources and government supported industry. A tariff by
definition is a tax or duty to be paid on a particular class of imports or exports.
Economic policy of nations and states, tariffs are tools used to control the flow of goods, services and
resources being brought into the country. The overall purpose is to create security for the domestic
industry from the imported product. These products can sometimes be less expensive to purchase than
the goods being manufactured in the local economy. (McEachern, 2015) The government does this
either stimulate or deflate trade with other countries. (Fontinelle, 2012)
There are quite a few forms of tariffs that the government may apply based on the condition of the
country s economic welfare. The pros and cons of these forms of tariffs will be reviewed. Discussion
on how these tariffs positively or negatively affects the economic stance of the country will be
displayed. Tariffs such as the ad valorem, the taxing a percentage of the value of an item and the
specific tariff or tax which is a set amount based on weight or sum of items. (McEachern, 2015)

Although most African Americans in the United States are Protestant, 78% compared with only 51%
of the United States as a whole. I will note that Protestantism in the U.S. and in the black community
is not homogenous. It is divided among three main steam traditions, evangelical Protestant churches,

Other similarities that African Americans and Lebanese Americans share are their love for food and
family. African Americans love to eat, as do Lebanese Americans and what better way to do this than

decided by the family with attention to its overall interest, (American Studies Journal). Where most or
should I say some, African Americans, although we share rituals and traditions, they are not kept
among the family. Some African American families stand behind their children to help them fulfill

I am not even able to say exactly how much I owe. All I know is, I make nowhere near enough to pay
it back. An article from About.com reports that over a lifetime, people with a high school diploma earn
$1.2 million dollars, while people with a Bachelor s degree earn $2.1 million, and people with a
Master s degree earn $2.5 million. Good news! I have a Bachelor s degree! And I almost have a
Master s! And yet, I am still not feeling very confident no, not at all confident that I can pay this back.
Being able to follow the career of my dreams is worth it. The education is worth it too, I am convinced
of that. If I did not have the opportunity to stick my head up out of the daily grind and dabble in
academic activities, I d be drowning. Unfortunately, I am drowning anyway, but in money instead.
There is one small light at the end of my tunnel, but it is getting smaller year by year. Most of my
student loan debt as is most of everyone s student loan debt is in Stafford and Perkins loans. There is a
program offered by the government that allows me to have my loans completely forgiven 100% taken
away! All I have to do is...well, a lot. It works like this. I am studying to become a teacher, so when I
graduate with my teaching certificate, I have to make sure I get hired by a low income school. That is
not so hard, really, since to be low income a school only has to have a certain percentage of students

Mount Ruapehu Essay
The Māori definition for Mount Ruapehu is exploding pit of noise, a phrase that is suitable for the
2787 metre tall volcano. Mount Ruapehu is the highest active volcano in New Zealand and the most
dangerous of the Volcanic Plateau region, see figure 1. Often defined by its large Crater Lake, the
classic cone volcano is shaped by a layered landscape with a ring plain at the summits peak. All of
these surface features seen today, are the result and combination of internal and external geological
processes.
Mount Ruapehu is located at the Southern end of the extremely active Taupo Volcanic Zone, close to
the centre of the North Island in New Zealand, see figure 2. As a result of continental drift, volcanic
landforms are developed by collisions and movement of tectonic plates in the Earth s crust.
Earth is made up of five major layers including the inner core, outer core, mantle, upper mantle and
crust. The upper mantle of the Earth is a approximately 1100C, a temperature so hot that the rock
melts to form a molten layer, causing the pieces of the Earth s
crust to move and collide. Convention currents is a progression where hot magma from the upper
mantle rises towards the surface where it then cools and forms a surface skin, see figure 3. The skin is
pushed aside as more magma develops, then forced back under the upper mantle. The skin melts and
the process is repeated.

was established in the Energy Independence and Security Act (EISA). RFSP requires oil refiners to

The officers visit the corporate headquarter without warning Hailey. During their visit, they

million in fraudulent renewable energy credits. His assets were confiscated, and he was required to

When analyzing the secondary structure predictions of the query sequence from the five prediction
programs, the majority of the programs seemed to detect the presence of one long, uninterrupted helix
on the N terminal side of the pilE protein. However, some programs, such as PORTER (Pollastri et al.,
2005) and SSpro (Magnan et al., 2014) indicated the presence of two helices interrupted by a small
gap of random coils. While these results appear to contradict each other at first, upon further
inspection, this can be explained by the fact that when two helices are very close to each other, some

of each other, some of their secondary structures may slightly differ from one another. Another
possible reason for this discrepancy may be because, as briefly mentioned before, secondary structure

Four years ago I wrote my first Personal Philosophy of Leadership paper. The personal leadership
style I identified with, at that time, was the democratic style. I had chosen this style of leadership
because of the teamwork, constructive criticism, motivation, good communication, dedication, and

His name would soon become a celebrity status of the south.
Nat Turner s rebellion was one of the largest slave rebellions in the United States. Nat turner was born
into slavery in the year of 1800 in Southampton, Virginia. People on the plantation believed he was a
prophet and chosen by God to lead them to great things. He knew of stories that were told before he
was alive and his grandmother and mother knew then that he was special and sent from God.

In the process they killed fifty five people and inspired close to sixty enslaved men on the journey to
follow them. They continued to the town of Jerusalem with the purpose of destroying the town and
killing all of the white people. During this time the governor called a few thousand of armed
militiamen to end the rebellion. Slave masters at this time was terrified and didn t know if they were
next for this slaying or if their slaves were plotting the same rebellion. The militiamen gave the white
people a slight relief of security. As the rebellion approached the town of Jerusalem the militia stopped

skinned his body. The other men were executed by the state or decapitated and heads posted on stakes

nothing to do with the Nat turner s rebellion. These white mobs killed up to three hundred blacks. The
governor of Virginia attempted to put a stop to these white mobs. The state legislature of Virginia
considered ending slavery but ended up voting to restrict blacks freedom, hoping to prevent any future
