Cisco Systems (2001): Building and Sustaining a Customer Centric Culture
Introduction/General Problem Statement:
Doug Allred was Vice President of Customer Advocacy organization of the Cisco s corporation. This
organization was erected to consolidated all functions that directly touched the customer but sales to
provide high quality customer service. Since August 2001, the IT market turned down and brought
severe challenges to Cisco as the company had to lay off 18% of its employees and reorganized its
structure, transforming from decentralized organizational structure with three business units to
centralized organization. However, these changes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Alternative Solutions: In such a situation, since the bad economic environment, it is not possible to
keep the original structure to fit its culture. One possible method to solve this problem is to collect
continuous customers feedback and to subdivide the feedback by different departments. The culture of
Cisco is to keep paying attention to the customers, no matter the amount of resource. But the new
structure made the whole resources of the company useless to satisfy customers. Thus, a good way to
know what customers need is to collect the feedback from them. In the article How to Change a
Culture: Lessons from NUMMI, the author told us that those of us trying to change our organizations
culture need to define the things we want to do, the ways we want to behave .iv By collecting the
feedback of customers, each Cisco s employee could be clarified of what they need to do to satisfy the
customers.
To make the feedback effective, Cisco should pay attention to two aspects. One aspect is to look for
attitudes of the customers. Unlike the common survey of other companies, Cisco should constantly to
collect the data and feedback from new customers. By this method, Cisco could have the newest
tendency of the customers need. The other aspect should relate to the employees of Cisco. Just as in
the article Leading by Leveraging Culture, the author says, the strong culture

Stereosonic Target Audience
1. Billboard, vehicle, street press and outdoor campaigns are used by Stereosonic to capture a larger
audience. Patron postcode data is used to place billboards and posters at key spots (Marketing
Magazine 2011). The majority of Australians spend more time out and about in summer (Adshel
Summer Campaign 2012). This increase the opportunity for Stereosonic s billboards and outdoor
advertisement to be seen. It is broadcasted by location, universities, bus/tram shelters, bus/tram
exteriors, shopping centres, malls, roadsides, free standing panels and mobile billboards (Huynh
2014). Future Music Festival uses this strategy too but also see guerrilla marketing as an effective
method (refer to Appendix A). Outdoor advertisement may be used to drive the target audience online
and in particular to the festival s website. Thus, billboards and outdoor advertisement is an expensive
advertisement method and may not be as appealing for small festivals like Listen Out nor bring much
in return. This due to their media savvy target indie millennium audience, which they may use other
more appealing strategies to reach.
2. The three investigated festivals have also been identified on social media and YouTube to advertise
by using emotional tools such as a pictures or video clips of punters dancing and having a good time.

Nova FM sponsors Stereosonic and Future Music Festival. Nevertheless, Listen Out has sponsorship
from Triple J. Different stations attract different listeners and the festivals have intentional put these
media partners in place. It is a win, win situation for all parties involved. The radio stations benefit
from the exclusive back stage interviews with popular artists, (as identified in Appendix B); it is
promotion for the DJ/musician; and the festival will gain awareness. Research found that radio drives
brand browsing by over 52 percent and also has a reputation of being a strong call to action medium

Personal Identity Essay
Personal Identity Nell Bernstein is the author of Goin Gangsta, Choosin Cholita: Claiming Identity, an
essay describing how the youth in certain parts of the country are choosing their preferred identity
rather than accepting their own. For example, in Bernstein s essay a girl named April, living in
California, wants to be Mexican; therefore, she dresses like and attempts to talk in the same accent as
a true Mexican, even though she is Anglo. The essay also specifically talks about the state of
California, where all this identity changing is happening due to the great diversity of race there.
Bernstein claims that this is a positive situation when a youths choose an identity other ... Show more

The idea of people trying to change their identity just strikes me with stupidity. It is God s decision as
to what color, nationality or such a person will be, and I believe He has a purpose for everything;
therefore, each person should respect His decision with acceptance and serve Him well under the
identity chosen for them. The biggest mistake of this essay is the misuse of the word identity.
Bernstein claims that, Identity is not a matter of where you come from, what you were born into, what
color your skin is, but rather, It s what you wear, the music you listen to, the words you use... (45).
This is all wrong! Identity is exactly what she thinks it is not. The color of one s skin describes their
race. That is one piece of their identity. Where they come from is their nationality. That is another
piece. What they were born into, such as family, beliefs, religion etc...., is their culture, Furney 2
which is yet another piece. All these pieces together describes who a person is. Clothes, music, and
accent only describe who a person appears to be. April, who is in fact Anglo and should be proud of it,
dresses like a Mexican because she thinks this will make her Mexican, but it will not. Frankly, if I
were Mexican and April came to me in her imitation Mexican costume trying to speak Spanish to me
even though the only thing she probably knows in Spanish is, Yo Queiro Taco Bell, it would annoy the
hell out of me.

School Council Meeting Report
I am grateful for the opportunity to attend the council s meeting. I was a little nervous about this
assignment because I never been to a meeting and I never ask to interview a council member, so I
went down to my local city hall and inquired some information about what day and time the council
meetings are held. So I chose to go to the meeting to get some insight on what really goes on at a
council meeting. I did want to interview a committee member because I was afraid that they would
decline the offer, but my plan is to talk to a council person if time permitted.

New York s 9 1 1 Emergency Line
Problem: New York City s department must devise a campaign that would differentiate emergencies
from non emergencies without reducing citizen confidence in the 9 1 1 emergency system.
Situation Analysis: The New York Police Department had made available to the citizens information
that all emergency calls were to be handled very fast. Currently, people in real emergencies in the city
are losing faith in the emergency system as the police fail to reach them on time.

9. It tells the management as to where action is required for solving problems without delay.
Disadvantages or Limitations of Budgetary Control
The following are the limitations of budgetary control:
1. It is really difficult to prepare the budgets accurately under inflationary conditions.
2. Budget involves a heavy expenditure which small business concerns cannot afford.
3. Budgets are prepared for the future period which is always uncertain. In future, conditions may
change which will upset the budgets. Thus, future uncertainties minimize the utility of budgetary
control system.
4. Budgetary control is only a management tool. It cannot replace management in decision making
because it is not a substitute for management.

Poverty Of Poverty And Poverty
About 22,000 children die each day as a result of poverty ( Child Mortality Rate Drops ). On their
website, The World Bank calculated that the amount of people living in extreme poverty was likely to
fall below ten percent in 2015. Even though the poverty rate has decreased, there are still many people
living in extreme poverty. One billion children in the world live in poverty and organizations like
Compassion International are helping give them a new life ( Poverty Facts and Stats ).
What is poverty? There are two specific aspects of poverty. The first aspect is material poverty. This is
the lack of life sustaining materials. Many people do not have the resources or money to obtain these
materials. Examples of these materials would be clean water or nutritious foods. The second aspect of
poverty is spiritual poverty. People living in spiritual poverty have no way of hearing about the gospel.
They do not have churches or missionaries in their villages to tell them the good news of God. There
is a large number of children living in both of these types of poverty and are searching for ways to
escape them. One of the main reasons why poverty is so prevalent in the world is because people are
ignorant and selfish. They would rather spend their money on expensive cars and clothes than help
buy clothes to dress a child who has nothing at all. Another reason why poverty is so prevalent is
because there are not enough job opportunities for people to support their children. With no

Why Is Algebra Important
Algebra
When I decided to return to school to get my degree I did not think that much about which courses I
would be required to take. I knew there were basic classes such as English, Science, History and Math,
and then the courses that would be required for my degree. I knew I would be taking Algebra at some
point but was not expecting it to be so early on. I am not sure I see a lot of need for Algebra itself in
Human Resources, but I do know that I need it to graduate. I do not feel I am being forced to take
Algebra, it is just another required course, like Intro to Computers, or Student Success, or English.
Math has never been my favorite subject, but more out of fear of not being able to figure all the
problems out, than just a general dislike for the subject.
When I hear the term liberal arts, I think of general education classes not degree specific classes. A
liberal arts degree gives students an education in all the major areas of study such as History, English,
Math, Science and the Arts. Students with degrees in the liberal arts can find employment in a lot of
job fields, as they are educated in various areas. STEM, or Science, Technology, Engineering and

The Corporation s Management Role
The corporation s management role is to increase the firm s value to its stockholders. Corporate
finance handles the financial issues such as achieving the firm s goal, how to raise, manage, and invest
its monies. Corporate management has become sensitive to the creation of value for businesses due to
the shifting from tangible assets to intangible assets. Although the intangible factors that drive value
creation differ by firms, some of the major categories include technology, innovation, and employee
and customer relations. Creating value helps customers by selling products and services. Value is
when a business generates revenue that surpasses expenses. Understanding what creates value will

Cash flow projections predict the working capital needs for future operations. Working capital is
determined by current liabilities subtracted by current assets. This is established by the cash coming in
and out of operations. Revenue from a firm s services will be the main source of projected cash
inflows from operations. Cash flow enables a business to use capital budgeting methods to decide the
feasibility of the capital assets that may need to support future activities. The cash flow projection
helps one to decide their future financing needs and ability to meet there long term debt obligations.
Projected earnings and cash flow numbers aren t always correct but give management an idea of what
could be expected from a project or investment. In Deuteronomy 8:12 19 (New Living Translation),
people are reminded that their abundance comes from God. God made His people lives comfortable.
He provided fertile land for them to use; God also multiplied their gold, silver, and livestock. If an
entire community prospered there would be very little concern for charity. The people would have
more than enough for everyone. Christians should always want to acknowledge God as their provider.
There are three major categories of ratio analysis are profitability, leverage, and liquidity ratios.

Project Lead The Way
Having the right education is an important part of becoming a successful industrial engineer. Learning

Campus Sexual Assault And Rape
ACKNOWLEDGMENT

in making this dissertation possible to do. I would like to give thanks to all the students who have
participated in this dissertation.
ABSTRACT
The aim of this dissertation is to observe whether female or male students have a similar or different
perspective of the meaning of consent in a sexual context; specifically, on the subject of campus
sexual assault.

In the United States (U.S.), sexual assault on campuses remains to make national headlines, and now
this problem is increasing and occurring in the United Kingdom (U.K.). The term sexual assault varies

radical feminists describe rape as a subject to be recognised and understood as a major pillar of

norms and values that are linked with masculinity (Johnson, 2005: p.

Holmes has a lot of admiration because of his name but many individuals cannot relate to him because
of his arrogance, nonetheless when you are reading, Watson is the character we can relate to more. If

The Uses of Enchantment by Bruno Bettelheim Essay
In The Uses of Enchantment writer Bruno Bettelheim states that fairy tales allow children to find
themselves and [...] find the other with whom they will be able to live happily ever after (162); I agree
with this because fairy tales present lessons in simple forms to help the child grasp the concepts,
present daily life issues and anxieties, and allows children to understand the difference between good
and bad. Fairy tales expose life in a fundamental way in which children are able to see that life is not
always rainbows and unicorns. Bettelheim argues that these stories address basic human predicaments

In the end, children must learn simple things such as life issues and anxieties in order for them to
apply it to their lives when the time may come which will guide them to a happier life. Unlike some
modern stories, fairy tales can have the characteristics of presenting the problems of everyday life. For
example in the story of Peter Pan, Peter Pan is afraid of growing up because of the responsibilities of
adulthood and because adults no longer act childlike. In this fairy tale the main characters are children
but still worry about growing up because of the changes they must encounter. They see that only
children play and have fun while their parents and other adults work and have responsibilities. In the
end children learn that they must grow up in order for their lives to continue but they may be children
at heart because one should never fully grow up. The story of Peter Pan guides children to find
themselves as Bettelheim says by growing up but also remaining a child deep inside. Because of
fairytales, children are able to maneuver through many of their anxieties and dilemmas while gaining
lessons on character. Through fairy tales, a child can acknowledge good or bad people because of how
the characters look and behave. In such fairy tales, the hero is the beautiful or handsome character that
is kind, loyal, and courageous. But the

Abdominal Wounds Research Paper
Chest and abdominal wounds were nearly always fatal. Treatment of abdominal wounds often
involved pushing in protruding organs and suturing the wound. Food was withheld because fecal
material leaking from the intestines caused contamination. Opium was often administered to halt the
action of the digestive system. Chest wounds were cleaned and the wound was sutured. Abdominal
wounds were fatal in almost 90 percent of the cases reported by Union surgeons.
An example of this is the case of Henry A. Barnum. Major General Henry A. Barnum was injured at
Malvern Hill, Virginia on July 1st, 1862, by a musket ball that passed through his left lower abdomen.
The ball penetrated his intestines and hip bone. The wound was determined to be fatal and he was left
in a field hospital. A few days later, he was captured by the enemy and taken 18 miles to Libby Prison.

The grisly wounds caused by bullets and shrapnel were often contaminated by clothing and other
debris. Cleaning such a wound was time consuming and often ineffective. However, amputation made
a complex wound simple ( To Bind Up the Nation s Wounds ). Amputation performed within 24 to 48
hours after injury was considered a primary amputation. A secondary amputation was one performed
more than three days after injury. Surgical manuals taught that an amputation should be performed
within the first two days following injury. Confederate General Thomas J. Stonewall Jackson, who
had his left arm amputated, was said to have stated that the sound of the saw on the bone was the
sweetest music he had ever heard. He also described chloroform as an infinite blessing (Wheat, T. A.).
Of the approximately 30,000 amputations performed in the Civil War there was a 26.3 percent
mortality rate. In the 1870 Franco Prussian War, despite the lessons learned in the Civil War, the
mortality rate for amputations was 76 percent (Burns, Stanley

Autotomy Essay
Abstract Autotomy occurs in many animals, but most research focuses on lizards as the trait occurs in
the majority of all lizard families (Downes Shine, 2001). The most common form of autotomy in this
order is caudal autotomy, relating to the tail. What has possibly made this adaptation so advantageous
is the ability of many lizard species to regenerate their tail after autotomy. Being able to grow a
secondary tail that can perform the same antipredator function is highly beneficial, and other tail
functions such as post autotomous thrashing and bright coloration enhance autotomous behavior
greatly. The loss of a limb may appear catastrophic for some organisms, but there are many species
that will do it voluntarily when faced with a threat. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In some species, post autotomous tails retain the ability to flex, diverting the attention of the predator
away from the escaping lizard to the rapidly undulating tail. Acrobatic flips are occasionally
performed by the severed tails of some species, and many others enjoy great dexterity even when not
attached to their parent body (Hingham Russell, 2009). The movement of the autotomized tail is
independent of brain activity and is instead governed by a network of neurons inside the spine. While
predictable central pattern generators are not uncommon in nature, lizard species like the Tokay gecko
(gekko gecko) have incorporated erratic and complicated movements into their autotomized tail
displays (Hingham Russell, 2009). This unpredictable behavior is meant to appear novel and thus
noticeable to the predator, preventing it from pursuing the rest of the gecko body. The mechanism of
tail loss involves the coordination of many tissues in the tail to prevent serious damage or danger to
the lizard. Vertebrae are specialized in intravertebral autotomous lizards, containing a fracture through
the side of vertebra near the disconnection site (Gilbert et al 2013). Most autotomous lizards contain
fractured vertebrae, but a few others autotomize intervertebrally, separating between

Child Witnesses
Courts within United Kingdom, along with several other countries have made several propositions for
addressing the vulnerability of child witnesses within the courtroom, although these provisions
generally do not directly address the linguistic difficulties. Thus, in some jurisdictions, child witnesses
are allowed to give evidence on closed circuit television, in order to alleviate them from trauma of
being face to face in court with a suspect against whom they are testifying against. However, children
are often required to be present in court for cross examination, sometimes provided with support by a
screen between the child and the accused (Birnbaum, and Bala, 2010).

The Trail Of Tears Analysis
Although the Trail of Tears was a miserable experience that Native Americans were forced to endure,
there is one white man who shines with his kindness and good deeds. The name John Burnett may be
unfamiliar to many people today, but it was quite well known to the Native Americans who endured
the pain and suffering on the Trail of Tears. Burnett was an charitable man who led a life of kindness,
and accompanying the Cherokee Indians who were removed from their lifelong homes in 1838. The
Trail of Tears was one of the most difficult challenges he ever endured. For over six months, Burnett
watched innocent people suffer pain and dying along the way. As a teenager in Beaver Creek, Burnett
spent much of his time hunting deer and other animals in the wilderness. It was on his long hunting
trips that Burnett met and became acquainted with the Cherokee Indians in the area, and they taught

psychologically combat his moral beliefs about the white man s ways and being a soldier. He also had
to endure watching the Native Americans experience torture and hardship, which hugely impacted him

Types of Cataract Surgery
Cataract surgery is among the most common procedures performed in older people and is one of the
oldest procedures known. It is done due to the lens becoming cloudy and leads to the vision being
affected. This happens when proteins in the lens clump together causing the cloudy area to become
larger, affecting vision more over time. The most common cause is age related, but it could also be
due to other reasons such as traumatic, diabetic, radiation, secondary and congenital.
The first type of cataract treatment done was known as couching. This technique could only be
performed on lenses that were completely opaque, rigid and heavy to the point where the zonules were
fragile. The eye would then be struck with a blunt object with enough force to cause the zonules to
break causing the lens to dislocate and lie in the vitreous cavity, restoring limited, completely
unfocussed vision. Centuries later, this technique was modified where a sharp instrument was inserted
into the eye to break the zonules.
In 1748, the first surgical cataract removal occurred in Paris. Topical anesthetic was instilled and an
incision was made that went halfway around the cornea and the entire opaque lens was removed. It
was important that the lens was ripened meaning completely hardened so that the lens would not break
into pieces when being removed. Thus this surgery was restricted to only the most advanced cataracts.
Fine sutures weren t available at that time so patients were immobilized with

Earthquakes With Earthquakes
Earthquakes: The Same Effects, but Different Responses
Earthquakes occur as a result of the abrupt release of energy in the Earth s crust that creates a series of
waves known as seismic waves. Earth quakes greatly affect people whether they are living in
economically disadvantaged countries or in economically developed countries. However, the way
each of them responds to the hazard is different.
The tectonic movements in the earth s crust are the initial causes of earthquakes. These movements
bring about forces of tension and pressure, these forces stress up the earth s crust. As the stresses
increase, an imbalance in equilibrium of the rocks which results into breaking of rocks and displaced.
The energy accumulated during the process is released giving raise to waves. The waves cause
vibration of objects they come across with causing a lot of impact on them. This may include shaking
and rapture of the ground. As a result there is damage of infrastructure, landslides, fires due to damage
caused to electric and gas lines.
Volcanic eruptions can also cause earthquakes since they are often very violent and can cause
vibrations to the earth s crust, this can result into rupture of geological faults. This is as a result of the
movement of lava beneath ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Sigmund Freud s and Carl Rogers Differing Concepts of...
This essay is to describe Sigmund Freud s and Carl Rogers differing concepts of human psychology
concerning determinism. Freud is known to be a determinist. This means that he believes that humans
don t have free will, that there are forces beyond the individuals control which control their actions
and underlying reasons behind behaviours. (http://plato.stanford.edu/entries/determinism causal/).
Rogers is known as a non determinist. This is the belief that humans have free will, that they control
their own behaviours, desires and are not bound by laws
(http://www.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/english/free will?q=free+will). However a new idea
which mostly stems from the cognitive approach has been created called Soft Determinism. This is the
idea that people have a degree of free will. That our behaviours and desires are mostly determined
however we can choose specific ways to act in particular situations.
Freud created the Psychodynamic Approach to explain behaviour. Within it, he describes that there are
3 components of the human mind: The conscious, Pre conscious and Unconscious. The conscious is
the part of the mind which is in our awareness; it contains behaviours and desires which we are aware
of. The pre conscious is the part of the mind between the conscious and unconscious, it contains items
such as memories and desires which we are not currently thinking about but can easily bring to
conscious awareness. Lastly is the unconscious. This part of the mind is

Hillary Clinton Trump Persuasive Essay
Americans take their right from the first amendment very seriously; freedom of speech. Politics is one

year Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump it is no surprise it brings up such a dispute. In 2012, almost
130 million Americans casted a vote for the presidential election. With all the argument between
voters and nonvoters, it brings a lot more pressure onto Trump and Clinton to try to gain supports and

university to use race as a factor in the future admission process. Ms. Fisher argued that race or
ethnicity should not be a factor in the application process because it is simply unfair. The university
responded that using race as a factor is only part of the admission process and is only used to ensure a
large diverse group of students. The University of Texas automatically admits students in the top ten
percent of high schools in the state. The school also used the affirmative action policy to admit

William Shakespeare s Titus Andronicus
Blood is the red fluid flowing in the arteries, capillaries, and veins of humans and other
vertebrates...Also the blood of an individual...[consisting of] red blood cells [and] white blood cells (
Blood ). Titus Andronicus by William Shakespeare exploits the word blood profoundly to illustrate the
dreadful doom the characters face. The play seeks to remove the term blood from the medical and
physical definition, and redefines blood in characteristics of honour, loyalty, emotional states, murder,
villainy, and cultural and familial bonds. As the discussion of characters and their uses of the word
blood demonstrate, Titus Andronicus represents the theme of revenge as a dish best served bloody. It
illustrates how the term blood can also be manipulated by its character s circumstance. This allows the
reader to construct a deeper analysis of the characters, and the plays themes of human loss, and the
tragic hero.
In the beginning, Marcus introduces Titus character as one whose traits are connected to that of a hero:
A nobler man, a braver warrior (1.1.25). Marcus first uses the term bleeding to illustrate the great
loyalty Titus has to Rome: Five times he hath returned/ Bleeding to Rome (1.1.33 34). The term
Bleeding insinuates Titus valiant acts in war, fighting for Rome and its people. It links violence to
heroism, empowering Titus by showing his strength in being wounded but surviving. Marcus plays a

about it that way because it seemed like it was just wasting my time. However, I ve discovered that the
older I get, the more I analyze things, whether it be school work or general life questions. Over the
summer, I had an abundance of time to think things through and work out everything in my mind. I
believe that service learning can help you realise your passion as it did with me. I volunteered at

I spread mulch in areas of dry soil and around the playground, so the kids could play without fear of

routine of washing food bowls and dog blankets too. During my time volunteering at Tender Mercies,
I learned that no matter how many times you think you ve seen it all, you will always find something
to amaze you. I ve previously said that over the the summer, I thought about things and sometimes

Things looked bleak from the get go with this one, as the threat of rain made it s presence felt,
postponing the start of this one by 30 minutes. That didn t stop Jean Segura from doing what he s been
doing, as he stayed hot looking for the franchise record for hits in a season. Segura led things off with
a single, setting the table for the D backs to strike first and maybe end this thing before the rain had a
chance. Chris Owings obliged, moving Segura to 2nd with a single of his own. After an excellent
double steal, Goldy was in prime position to get the team on the board and he did, lining a hard
grounder into deep shortstop. Espinosa had no shot at home plate, and threw onto first for the first out
of the inning and a 1 0 D backs lead. That was it however, as Castillo and Drury flew out and struck
out respectively to strand Owings at 2nd. Still not a bad way to start the game. Shelby Miller s
performance today was what we expected from him after the blockbuster trade brought him over in

ABSTRACT
Wireless communications is, by any measure, the fastest growing segment of the communications
industry. It has captured the attention of the media and the imagination of the public. However, the
fundamental phenomenon which makes transmission unreliable is time varying fading. The
phenomenon is described as the constructive/destructive interference between signals arriving at the
same antenna via different paths, and hence with different delays and phases, resulting in random
fluctuations of the signal level at the receiver. This paper investigates Rake receiver method of
combating fading.
The rake receiver uses a combination of correlators to separately detect M strongest multipath
components, code generators, and delays, or fingers , to spread out the individual echo signals of the
multipath. Each signal is then delayed according to peaks found in the received signal. The rake
receiver uses several sub receivers each delayed slightly in order to tune in to the individual multipath
components. Each component is decoded independently, but at a later stage combined using delay
compensate combiner and MRC dispreading in order to make the most use of the different
transmission characteristics of each

The Four Noble Truths Essay
The Four Noble Truths One of the most important sharing in the Buddha s first sermon is the Four
Noble Truths. The First Noble Truth is the truth of duhkha that life is dissatisfactory. The Buddha
explained it from four aspects physical changing, mental emotional process, unpleasant things, and not
processing the things one wants. The Second Noble Truth illustrates the cause of duhkha. It seems that
craving is the cause of all sufferings. Actually, it is the idea of selfness which produces ignorance, the
first constituent of the twelve nidhana, and leads to craving and thirst. The Third Noble Truth
demonstrates the cessation of unsatisfactory state. According to the twelve nidhana, removing
ignorance will eliminate craving and finally cease ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Buddha explained it from three aspects. First of all, we can t prevent the changing condition of
physical life. We can t stop from growing old, can t get rid of getting sick, and can t control dying or
giving birth in the six realms. The physical changing itself already lets people down. Lack of ability to
manage the physical changing makes us even more unsatisfied about lives. The second point is that we
can t get permanent happiness. Although no one will deny that we feel happy sometimes, all pleasure
we get will not last forever. For example, during the time I applied for universities and colleges for
undergraduate study, I was so happy when I received the offer from UNC. But, one month later, I can t
feel the same level of happiness as the day I saw the congratulations on the letter. We always believe
that we will get lasting happiness after we realize something, however, we won t. Therefore, the gap
between what we want and what we actually get causes the dissatisfactoriness. The last aspect is that
personal and social duhkha are caused by changing states of human. If one has the negative emotions
like angry, hatred, greed, and delusion, he or she will project these personal feelings to family and
friends, and even cause war, political repression or other social turbulences. All three points
demonstrate that life is dissatisfactory, which is exactly the truth of

Animal Assisted Therapy ( Aat ) Essay
There are many positive effects of owning a pet. Animals can increase the health and well being of
individuals and can be a useful tool in the counseling arena. Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT) has been
in use since the early 18th century. England hospitals used animals as a method of socialization and to
boost morale ( History of animal assisted therapy, 2014). Since it s early roots, AAT has evolved as a
method of therapy that helps individuals and group members overcome obstacles and achieve goals.
One of the more well known successful therapy animals is Oscar the cat. Oscar the cat comforts
patients at a Rhode Island Nursing Home shortly before their death. He has the ability to know when a
patient in the home is close to death and he naps near them to bring individuals a sense of peace and
calmness in their final hours.
This author will investigate how animals play a role in the therapeutic process. The group theory and
tenets, the organization and function, the benefits, the limitations, and this author s thoughts will be
explored.
Group Theory/Tenets
AAT is not limited to one theoretical orientation. As defined by the American Humane Association,
AAT is a goal oriented intervention in which an animal is incorporated as an integral part of the

Wisdom In Plato s Apology
Ignorance isn t something that someone inherits from the moment they are born. Humans do not enter
the world with the wisdom to make the correct choices in life, but they do gain the ability to acquire
wisdom through teaching, learning and learning from their mistakes. This lack of wisdom, this
inherent ignorance is exactly why there has been a struggle since the beginning of man. According to
Plato, this is the best thing for human life is wisdom. Plato s Socrates indicates that wisdom is the
acknowledgement of ignorance. This statement may be hard to prove as true. In the Apology, Socrates

There are always problems with this approach, but the profit of doing so is significant.
3. Poor or No Requirements poor requirements are probably one of the most difficult issue that can be
faced by a project. The incapacity to identify good requirements has also led to other project delivery
problems such as the desire to narrow the scope of the project so as to minimize the requirements
workload and risk. Users should understand what it is they want, and be able to identify it specifically.
if you don t get the business requirements right, however well you deliver the project, the
client/business will be dissatisfied.
4. Scope Creep
Scope creep is a risk in most projects. it is the change or growth of project scope. Scope creep more
frequently occurs during the later stages of a project, such as programming and testing, than during the
earlier stages, such as design. This can occur when the scope of a project is not properly defined,
documented, or controlled. This is a management issue similar to change control. Management should
be able to figure it all out at the start. A project manager often tries to manage scope creep. The goal in
managing scope creep is to try to minimize the impact of any changes on the project, such as on the
timeline and cost.

ocean floor. Some drilling rigs have drilled into methane hydrates (where methane gas is stored
underground) and while the density of that water did decrease and the ship sunk; there was plenty of
time to send a mayday call and evacuate the ship. With the methane gas theory, there would be no
reason why a ship could not make a mayday call, but disappearances in the triangle are sudden.
Researchers know some of the first sailors did not have the technology to send a mayday call, but
would have been able to evacuate their ship if it was slowly sinking. Methane ... Show more content

The Sargasso Sea is seven hundred miles wide by two thousand miles long. The Bermuda Triangle is
on the western edge of the Sargasso Sea. The water is covered in dense seaweed which forms a thick
mat on the surface, known as Sargassum (Rudolph pg. 9). Christopher Columbus thought he had
reached land when he reached the Sargasso Sea (Bhattacharya). It is bound by ocean currents on all
sides, which separates it from the surrounding Atlantic. Trash and other objects are pulled into the sea
by swirling currents. The thick mat of seaweed and trash could bring a ship to a halt when the winds
are low. Some ships have been found floating in the seaweed with no passengers. One ship, Fannia E.
Wolston, floated for five years covering 7,025 miles. Spanish sailors often found themselves stranded
for weeks and had to jettison their war horses to conserve water, which was why an area of the
Sargasso Sea is called the Horse Latitudes . However, there was no direct correlation to missing
airplanes and large freighters that can sail through weak winds and seaweed

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Futurisation
Introduction
Swaps in simple language means, the act of exchanging one thing for another. In financial terms it
means an agreement in which two parties agree to exchange series cash flows at some future times
according to terms stated in the agreement (Chance and Brooks 2012). They are derivatives because
their value is ascertained from some other financial instrument, such as a loan or bond. Swaps are
generally priced based on a notional value, which is the dol¬lar value of a contract. The most common
type of swap is the interest rate swap in which the two parties agree to enter into an agreement which
involve the exchange of payments of fixed rate interest for the payments of floating rate interest or
vice versa in the same currency calculated by reference to a mutually agreed notional ... Show more

For examples this disparity may arise in fixed coupon rates. The company may be exposed to other
risk, if it does not have an exact or close enough match for the risk being hedged. In realty these
futures contract may not adequately hedge risk and this would lead increase in earnings volatility and
the company may face greater risk (Banwait 2013).
Increased risk for clearing house
The margins on swap contract are calculated differently and are higher than futures contract which has
led to the migration of swaps to futures. The volume of transactions cleared by futures clearing house
has risen significantly as the movement of swaps to futures take place. But as this volume increases,
the futures clearing house can be exposed to a greater risk of failure (Litan 2013).

Organizational Overview Of The Western Connecticut Health...
Western Connecticut Health Network
Western Connecticut Health Network (WCHN) is a fairly large regional network, with a scope
encompassing the vast majority of specialties and services as would be expected between several
hospitals and a plethora of outpatient facilities. A well organized executive leadership model helps
ensure quality, through the core values WCHN has established, whilst keeping themselves in check
through third party surveys and analysis. WCHN s quality improvements have simply built onto an
already strong foundation of health care quality, with a focus on the patients.
Organizational Overview WCHN is a not for profit organization comprised of 3 hospitals, over 30
physician offices, and an urgent care center as well as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Network leadership has been organized in such a way that it can account for quality and excellence in
every area possible. The CEO of the network is also president of Danbury and New Milford Hospital,
while the CSO maintains presidency of Norwalk Hospital. The COO is also a Chief Nursing Officer,
while a separate executive holds the title of Chief Clinical Officer. A Chief Audit and Compliance
Office helps ensure HIPPA compliance, as well as maintain the various accreditations the network
holds. Like most organizations, it has a CFO, CIO and CDO as well as a Chief Human Resources
Officer due to the immense size of the organizations staffing, especially with integration between the
various hospitals. Three executive directors hold the final seats, Chief of Staff, WCMG (outpatient
services) and Vice President, as well as Research and Innovation ( about WCHN n.d.).
Quality Defined and Measured WCHN has laid out a comprehensive, yet surprisingly simple set of
values which help them achieve quality excellence, integrity, compassion, teamwork, and fiscal
responsibility ( about WCHN n.d.). These broadly align with Deming s Principles, allowing for quality
improvement across the board. These values are further instilled into

Monsanto s Ethical Culture, Costs And Benefits Of Growing...
Monsanto Corporation based on my reading is a company that initially specialized in chemical
distribution, after years in this industry switched over to biotechnology, or the genetic manipulation of
organisms. After years of growth, controversy and legal issues, they still have been able to maintain
the company growth and even has now started producing other goods. This paper specifically
discusses efficacy of Monsanto s ethical culture, costs and benefits of growing GMO seed, and
management of harm to plants and animals.
Efficacy of Monsanto s Ethical Culture
Monsanto was founded by John T. Queeny in 1901 in St. Louis, Missouri, he named the company
after his wife, Olga Monsanto Queeny. (Ferrell, et.al 2017 p. 383) Monsanto Company ... Show more

They were not maintaining an ethical culture since they did not fully comply with the licensing
standards they had agreed.
Costs and Benefits of Growing GMO Seed The genetically modified seeds that Monsanto Company
used had its greatest benefits for the farmers that chose to use the seed. Having a genetically modified
seed helped farmers know what to forecast for the upcoming harvesting season. According to Ferrell,
et. al (2017 pg. 384 para. 3), Monsanto scientist, through their work in biotechnology, were able to
implant seeds with genes that make the plants themselves kill bugs. They also created seeds
containing the herbicide Roundup, it s an herbicide that kills weeds but spares the crops. Having a
seed that contained an herbicide was beneficial to the farmer because that potentially saved them
money on the need to buy weed killer to save the crop. Another benefit for using the GMO seeds is
that farmers will use less space and have the ability to grow more crops and in turn will increase crop
yield. The traditional seeds require more space, which decreases a farmer s crop yield. According to
Conway, Gordon (2000 para. 5) he says, most of the new varieties that are grantees are developing are
the result of tissue culture and marker aided selection techniques and do not

Disadvantages Of Gonorrhoea
Gonorrhoea are fastidious gram negative, facultative, intracellular and typically appear in pairs
(diplococci), in the shape of coffee beans. Among various species of Neisseria that colonize humans,
only N. gonorrhoeae is clinically important responsible for transmission through sexual contact (Elias
J et al., 2011).They are non motile, aerobic, capnophilic, non sporulating, possess pilli to adhere the
surfaces of mucous membrane of warm blooded hosts (Janda Wet et al., 2007). The type IV pili (Biais
N et al., 2008) operate mechanically similar to a grappling hook, which extend and attach to a
substrate that signals the pilus to retract, dragging the cell forward. N. gonorrhoeae are able to pull
100,000 times their own weight, and it has been claimed that the pili used to do so is the strongest
biological motor. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Porin channels (porA, porB) in the outer membrane play key role in virulence of bacterial.
Gonococcal strains with porA may have natural resistance to normal human serum and an increased
capacity to invade epithelial cells; Gonococci attach to the host mucosal cells and enter within 24 48
hours through the subepithelial space. A typical host response is characterised by invasion with
neutrophils, followed by epithelial sloughing, formation of submucosal micro abscesses, purulent
discharge and if left untreated, macrophage and lymphocyte infiltration replaces the neutrophils. Some
gonococcal strains causes an asymptomatic infection, leading to an asymptomatic carrier state in
persons of both sex (Brian Wong,

Internal Conflict In Short Stories
Every day, people face conflicts. Whether the conflict is caused by an outside force or something
going on in the person s own mind. The conflicts that are caused by outside forces are called external
conflicts. Some examples of this are man against man, man against nature, and man against society.
While on the other hand, internal conflict is when the narrator of the story is going against himself.
Many times when the narrator faces internal conflict it is because of something that they are needing
to do or something that they are being forced to do even if it goes against every value they believe in.
When they are forced to do something that they do not believe in, this will force the individual to
think about what they are about to do. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He knew he must find his way through that cave, or hole, or tunnel, and out the other side (Lessing
98). After Jerry found the opening of the cave, he was determined to find his way out the other side.
For the remainder of his vacation, every free minute he had was going to the ocean and working on
holding his breath. However, this task may sound easy, Jerry had a hard time accomplishing his goal.
He got many nose bleeds and many times he contemplated giving up on his goal. He had a very hard
time learning to hold his breath long enough to get through the tunnel and back up into the air. Jerry
thought about giving up on his goal many times. When the boys came back and he saw them jumping
off the cliff, he thought that he might not be good enough to make it under the rock. The last day of his
vacation Jerry knew that it had to be the day that he would go under the rock. When he went to the
bottom of the rock, he started to go through the tunnel. About halfway through the tunnel, Jerry s
lungs started to burn and his nose started to bleed. When his lungs began to burn with lack of oxygen,
he started to doubt that he was going to make it out of the tunnel. However, he kept pushing through
the tunnel thinking that he would either die trying or be able to get through the tunnel and up into the
atmosphere. When Jerry is almost at the point of needing

(Investopedia, 2010). Included in this briefing, a comparison of the governmental and for profit
financial accounting will be discussed, an understanding of the government reporting and reporting

The Constitution details a limited number of circumstances under which funds can be appropriated
from the BSA, one of which is a favorable vote of at least three fifths of the members of each house of
the Legislature (State of Washington, CAFR, 2010). In the government wide and proprietary fund
financial statements, long term obligations of the state are reported as liabilities on the Statement of
Net Assets. Bonds payable are reported net of applicable original issuance premium or discount. When
material, bond premiums, discounts, and issue costs are deferred and amortized over the life of the
bonds. Conclusion While a budget might indicate that a specific government or agency has financial
trouble and debt because of excess spending or mismanagement within the select grouping of general
fund accounts presented, the CAFR may indicate, in whole, the same government entity, has many
facets possessing large holdings considerably over what is shown in a budget report.

The Benefits of Mouth Guards
Mouth guards come in many different forms and ways. They are very versatile and can be used for
many different uses for people. In this guide I will discuss the different type of mouth guards that are
available. I will also be discussing the use of mouth guards, application of mouth guards, some of the
risk as well as some of the benefits of them. I will talk about the background of the mouth guard, for
example, how long they have been around and when they were introduced. Finally, I will discuss the
basic information and other topics about the product. Mouth guards have been around since the early
1800 s. No one knows an exact date. The first to use mouth guards were boxers. Back in the 1800

McTigue was winning the fight until they had to forfeit because he chipped one of his teeth and it cut
his lip. Then in the 1940 s and 1950s dental offices saw a huge spike in dental and teeth injuries in
football players, and because of the rise in injuries the ADAA (American Dental Association of
America)made it recommended by 1960 that all in contact sports used mouth guards. In the late 1960
s and early 1970 s a children s dentist was so appalled by all the injuries he was seeing and having to
treat that he made the first professional mouth guard that is used in all contact sports today. By 1973
the NCAA requires mouth guards for all sports that consisted of contacting with other people. These
sports include: football, hockey, lacrosse, rugby as well as basketball. Since the mouth guard there has
been a decrease in injuries to the mouth as well as dental injuries in contact sports. Mouth guards can
come in all different shapes, sizes, types, and even ones that are used for different purposes. In
general, mouth guards usually just cover your upper teeth. With the advances they now have full
mouth guards available. In the dental field, mouth guards can help with many things. For example, if
you have braces or a fixed dental object in your mouth, your dentist may make you a guard for your
lower mouth. This will help protect your gums and lips while you are sleeping

4 Cranial Nerves Lab
Introduction:
The purpose of this experiment is to evaluate the 4 cranial nerves that are used for vision and eye
movement based on their functions by performing several tests. With that being said, there are 12
cranial nerves in the body. The first cranial nerve is known as Olfactory Nerve I. This nerve is used for
smell. Next, is the nerve that is used for vision and that is Optic Nerve II. The third cranial nerve is the
Oculomotor Nerve III, which allows movement of the eye in several directions including up, down, up
and inward. In addition, this nerve controls the pupil. Next, is the Trochlear Nerve IV. This nerve
moves the eyes in a down and inward movement. The next nerve is responsible for the sensory

The Analysis of Cisco Systems Wenmao Yang MBA 610AE: Organizational Behavior Professor Tammy MacLean November 16, 2011 Cisco Systems (2001): Building and Sustaining a Customer Centric Culture Introduction/General Problem Statement: Doug Allred was Vice President of Customer Advocacy organization of the Cisco s corporation. This organization was erected to consolidated all functions that directly touched the customer but sales to provide high quality customer service. Since August 2001, the IT market turned down and brought severe challenges to Cisco as the company had to lay off 18% of its employees and reorganized its structure, transforming from decentralized organizational structure with three business units to centralized organization. However, these changes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Alternative Solutions: In such a situation, since the bad economic environment, it is not possible to keep the original structure to fit its culture. One possible method to solve this problem is to collect continuous customers feedback and to subdivide the feedback by different departments. The culture of Cisco is to keep paying attention to the customers, no matter the amount of resource. But the new structure made the whole resources of the company useless to satisfy customers. Thus, a good way to know what customers need is to collect the feedback from them. In the article How to Change a Culture: Lessons from NUMMI, the author told us that those of us trying to change our organizations culture need to define the things we want to do, the ways we want to behave .iv By collecting the feedback of customers, each Cisco s employee could be clarified of what they need to do to satisfy the customers. To make the feedback effective, Cisco should pay attention to two aspects. One aspect is to look for attitudes of the customers. Unlike the common survey of other companies, Cisco should constantly to collect the data and feedback from new customers. By this method, Cisco could have the newest tendency of the customers need. The other aspect should relate to the employees of Cisco. Just as in the article Leading by Leveraging Culture, the author says, the strong culture ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Stereosonic Target Audience 1. Billboard, vehicle, street press and outdoor campaigns are used by Stereosonic to capture a larger audience. Patron postcode data is used to place billboards and posters at key spots (Marketing Magazine 2011). The majority of Australians spend more time out and about in summer (Adshel Summer Campaign 2012). This increase the opportunity for Stereosonic s billboards and outdoor advertisement to be seen. It is broadcasted by location, universities, bus/tram shelters, bus/tram exteriors, shopping centres, malls, roadsides, free standing panels and mobile billboards (Huynh 2014). Future Music Festival uses this strategy too but also see guerrilla marketing as an effective method (refer to Appendix A). Outdoor advertisement may be used to drive the target audience online and in particular to the festival s website. Thus, billboards and outdoor advertisement is an expensive advertisement method and may not be as appealing for small festivals like Listen Out nor bring much in return. This due to their media savvy target indie millennium audience, which they may use other more appealing strategies to reach. 2. • 4. Personal Identity Essay Personal Identity Nell Bernstein is the author of Goin Gangsta, Choosin Cholita: Claiming Identity, an essay describing how the youth in certain parts of the country are choosing their preferred identity rather than accepting their own. For example, in Bernstein s essay a girl named April, living in California, wants to be Mexican; therefore, she dresses like and attempts to talk in the same accent as a true Mexican, even though she is Anglo. The essay also specifically talks about the state of California, where all this identity changing is happening due to the great diversity of race there. The idea of people trying to change their identity just strikes me with stupidity. It is God s decision as to what color, nationality or such a person will be, and I believe He has a purpose for everything; therefore, each person should respect His decision with acceptance and serve Him well under the identity chosen for them. The biggest mistake of this essay is the misuse of the word identity. Bernstein claims that, Identity is not a matter of where you come from, what you were born into, what color your skin is, but rather, It s what you wear, the music you listen to, the words you use... (45). This is all wrong! Identity is exactly what she thinks it is not. The color of one s skin describes their race. That is one piece of their identity. Where they come from is their nationality. That is another piece. What they were born into, such as family, beliefs, religion etc...., is their culture, Furney 2 which is yet another piece. All these pieces together describes who a person is. Clothes, music, and accent only describe who a person appears to be. April, who is in fact Anglo and should be proud of it, dresses like a Mexican because she thinks this will make her Mexican, but it will not. Frankly, if I were Mexican and April came to me in her imitation Mexican costume trying to speak Spanish to me even though the only thing she probably knows in Spanish is, Yo Queiro Taco Bell, it would annoy the hell out of me. ... On their website, The World Bank calculated that the amount of people living in extreme poverty was likely to fall below ten percent in 2015. Even though the poverty rate has decreased, there are still many people living in extreme poverty. One billion children in the world live in poverty and organizations like Compassion International are helping give them a new life ( Poverty Facts and Stats ). What is poverty? There are two specific aspects of poverty. The first aspect is material poverty. This is the lack of life sustaining materials. Many people do not have the resources or money to obtain these materials. Examples of these materials would be clean water or nutritious foods. The second aspect of poverty is spiritual poverty. People living in spiritual poverty have no way of hearing about the gospel. They do not have churches or missionaries in their villages to tell them the good news of God. There is a large number of children living in both of these types of poverty and are searching for ways to escape them. One of the main reasons why poverty is so prevalent in the world is because people are ignorant and selfish. They would rather spend their money on expensive cars and clothes than help buy clothes to dress a child who has nothing at all. I knew I would be taking Algebra at some point but was not expecting it to be so early on. I am not sure I see a lot of need for Algebra itself in Human Resources, but I do know that I need it to graduate. Fairy tales expose life in a fundamental way in which children are able to see that life is not always rainbows and unicorns. In the end, children must learn simple things such as life issues and anxieties in order for them to apply it to their lives when the time may come which will guide them to a happier life. Unlike some modern stories, fairy tales can have the characteristics of presenting the problems of everyday life. For example in the story of Peter Pan, Peter Pan is afraid of growing up because of the responsibilities of adulthood and because adults no longer act childlike. In this fairy tale the main characters are children but still worry about growing up because of the changes they must encounter. They see that only children play and have fun while their parents and other adults work and have responsibilities. In the end children learn that they must grow up in order for their lives to continue but they may be children at heart because one should never fully grow up. The story of Peter Pan guides children to find themselves as Bettelheim says by growing up but also remaining a child deep inside. Because of fairytales, children are able to maneuver through many of their anxieties and dilemmas while gaining lessons on character. Through fairy tales, a child can acknowledge good or bad people because of how the characters look and behave. The most common form of autotomy in this order is caudal autotomy, relating to the tail. What has possibly made this adaptation so advantageous is the ability of many lizard species to regenerate their tail after autotomy. Being able to grow a secondary tail that can perform the same antipredator function is highly beneficial, and other tail functions such as post autotomous thrashing and bright coloration enhance autotomous behavior greatly. The loss of a limb may appear catastrophic for some organisms, but there are many species that will do it voluntarily when faced with a threat. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In some species, post autotomous tails retain the ability to flex, diverting the attention of the predator away from the escaping lizard to the rapidly undulating tail. Acrobatic flips are occasionally performed by the severed tails of some species, and many others enjoy great dexterity even when not attached to their parent body (Hingham Russell, 2009). The movement of the autotomized tail is independent of brain activity and is instead governed by a network of neurons inside the spine. While predictable central pattern generators are not uncommon in nature, lizard species like the Tokay gecko (gekko gecko) have incorporated erratic and complicated movements into their autotomized tail displays (Hingham Russell, 2009). This unpredictable behavior is meant to appear novel and thus noticeable to the predator, preventing it from pursuing the rest of the gecko body. The mechanism of tail loss involves the coordination of many tissues in the tail to prevent serious damage or danger to the lizard. • 27. Types of Cataract Surgery Cataract surgery is among the most common procedures performed in older people and is one of the oldest procedures known. It is done due to the lens becoming cloudy and leads to the vision being affected. This happens when proteins in the lens clump together causing the cloudy area to become larger, affecting vision more over time. The most common cause is age related, but it could also be due to other reasons such as traumatic, diabetic, radiation, secondary and congenital. The first type of cataract treatment done was known as couching. This technique could only be performed on lenses that were completely opaque, rigid and heavy to the point where the zonules were fragile. The eye would then be struck with a blunt object with enough force to cause the zonules to break causing the lens to dislocate and lie in the vitreous cavity, restoring limited, completely unfocussed vision. Centuries later, this technique was modified where a sharp instrument was inserted into the eye to break the zonules. In 1748, the first surgical cataract removal occurred in Paris. Topical anesthetic was instilled and an incision was made that went halfway around the cornea and the entire opaque lens was removed. It was important that the lens was ripened meaning completely hardened so that the lens would not break into pieces when being removed. Thus this surgery was restricted to only the most advanced cataracts. Fine sutures weren t available at that time so patients were immobilized with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This is the belief that humans have free will, that they control their own behaviours, desires and are not bound by laws (http://www.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/english/free will?q=free+will). It has captured the attention of the media and the imagination of the public. However, the fundamental phenomenon which makes transmission unreliable is time varying fading. The phenomenon is described as the constructive/destructive interference between signals arriving at the same antenna via different paths, and hence with different delays and phases, resulting in random fluctuations of the signal level at the receiver. This paper investigates Rake receiver method of combating fading. The rake receiver uses a combination of correlators to separately detect M strongest multipath components, code generators, and delays, or fingers , to spread out the individual echo signals of the multipath. Each signal is then delayed according to peaks found in the received signal. The rake receiver uses several sub receivers each delayed slightly in order to tune in to the individual multipath components. The Second Noble Truth illustrates the cause of duhkha. It seems that craving is the cause of all sufferings. We can t stop from growing old, can t get rid of getting sick, and can t control dying or giving birth in the six realms. The physical changing itself already lets people down. Lack of ability to manage the physical changing makes us even more unsatisfied about lives. The second point is that we can t get permanent happiness. • 40. Animal Assisted Therapy ( Aat ) Essay There are many positive effects of owning a pet. Animals can increase the health and well being of individuals and can be a useful tool in the counseling arena. Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT) has been in use since the early 18th century. England hospitals used animals as a method of socialization and to boost morale ( History of animal assisted therapy, 2014). Since it s early roots, AAT has evolved as a method of therapy that helps individuals and group members overcome obstacles and achieve goals. One of the more well known successful therapy animals is Oscar the cat. Oscar the cat comforts patients at a Rhode Island Nursing Home shortly before their death. He has the ability to know when a patient in the home is close to death and he naps near them to bring individuals a sense of peace and calmness in their final hours. This author will investigate how animals play a role in the therapeutic process. The group theory and tenets, the organization and function, the benefits, the limitations, and this author s thoughts will be explored. Group Theory/Tenets AAT is not limited to one theoretical orientation. As defined by the American Humane Association, AAT is a goal oriented intervention in which an animal is incorporated as an integral part of the clinical health care process [...] delivered by a professional health or human service provider (Uyemura, 2016). • 41. Wisdom In Plato s Apology Ignorance isn t something that someone inherits from the moment they are born. Humans do not enter the world with the wisdom to make the correct choices in life, but they do gain the ability to acquire wisdom through teaching, learning and learning from their mistakes. This lack of wisdom, this inherent ignorance is exactly why there has been a struggle since the beginning of man. According to Plato, this is the best thing for human life is wisdom. Plato s Socrates indicates that wisdom is the acknowledgement of ignorance. This statement may be hard to prove as true. Socrates actual quote indicates that he knew when others were ignorant, but merely thought they were knowledgeable. He simply never made the mistakes of either by overestimating his extremely limited knowledge of or really underestimating his actual knowledge. That made him a lifelong learner and wiser than those who thought they knew what they did not know. This goes back to the argument that Plato makes that taking a risk with your wisdom whether it s ignorant or not is worth more than sitting there and basically looking stupid. In comparison of today s culture would it make any sense the youth holds the majority of ignorance more than past generation I would bet to say that Plato would agree with this statement. Most of the youth are preoccupied by social media and electronic devices that they never have the time anymore to look up from their phone and hold a full conversation. The toxic combination of government lacking public education, extremely unprepared curriculum to unmotivated and unambitious student have produced a generation of young people ignorant of the fundamental parts of life. The incapacity to identify good requirements has also led to other project delivery problems such as the desire to narrow the scope of the project so as to minimize the requirements workload and risk. Users should understand what it is they want, and be able to identify it specifically. if you don t get the business requirements right, however well you deliver the project, the client/business will be dissatisfied. 4. Scope Creep Scope creep is a risk in most projects. it is the change or growth of project scope. Scope creep more frequently occurs during the later stages of a project, such as programming and testing, than during the earlier stages, such as design. This can occur when the scope of a project is not properly defined, documented, or controlled. This is a management issue similar to change control. Management should be able to figure it all out at the start. A project manager often tries to manage scope creep. The goal in managing scope creep is to try to minimize the impact of any changes on the project, such as on the timeline and cost. 5. No Change Control System Business needs are

The Sargasso Se The Disappearances In The Bermuda Triangle While methane bubbles can sink an entire ship, it does not prove to be the cause for all disappearing ships and plans in the triangle. The area of largest methane gas releases was not in the Bermuda s but somewhere along the Carolinas coast. This decreases the likelihood of methane gas releases from the ocean floor. Some drilling rigs have drilled into methane hydrates (where methane gas is stored underground) and while the density of that water did decrease and the ship sunk; there was plenty of time to send a mayday call and evacuate the ship. With the methane gas theory, there would be no reason why a ship could not make a mayday call, but disappearances in the triangle are sudden. Researchers know some of the first sailors did not have the technology to send a mayday call, but would have been able to evacuate their ship if it was slowly sinking. Methane ... The water is covered in dense seaweed which forms a thick mat on the surface, known as Sargassum (Rudolph pg. 9). Christopher Columbus thought he had reached land when he reached the Sargasso Sea (Bhattacharya). It is bound by ocean currents on all sides, which separates it from the surrounding Atlantic. Trash and other objects are pulled into the sea by swirling currents. The thick mat of seaweed and trash could bring a ship to a halt when the winds are low. Some ships have been found floating in the seaweed with no passengers. One ship, Fannia E. Wolston, floated for five years covering 7,025 miles. Spanish sailors often found themselves stranded for weeks and had to jettison their war horses to conserve water, which was why an area of the Sargasso Sea is called the Horse Latitudes . • 45. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Futurisation Introduction Swaps in simple language means, the act of exchanging one thing for another. In financial terms it means an agreement in which two parties agree to exchange series cash flows at some future times according to terms stated in the agreement (Chance and Brooks 2012). They are derivatives because their value is ascertained from some other financial instrument, such as a loan or bond. Swaps are generally priced based on a notional value, which is the dol¬lar value of a contract. Costs and Benefits of Growing GMO Seed The genetically modified seeds that Monsanto Company used had its greatest benefits for the farmers that chose to use the seed. Having a genetically modified seed helped farmers know what to forecast for the upcoming harvesting season. According to Ferrell, et. al (2017 pg. 384 para. 3), Monsanto scientist, through their work in biotechnology, were able to implant seeds with genes that make the plants themselves kill bugs. They also created seeds containing the herbicide Roundup, it s an herbicide that kills weeds but spares the crops. Having a seed that contained an herbicide was beneficial to the farmer because that potentially saved them money on the need to buy weed killer to save the crop. Another benefit for using the GMO seeds is that farmers will use less space and have the ability to grow more crops and in turn will increase crop yield. The traditional seeds require more space, which decreases a farmer s crop yield.
