Helicopter Parenting Observational Study
After observing parents and the way in which they behave towards their children, it has became
apparent that parents are more likely to display the behaviours and traits of helicopter parenting
towards females, rather than males. In the observation charts, it is clear that many of the parents
portray the qualities of helicopter parenting. Ten out of thirty parents were displaying the qualities of
helicopter parenting, to be exact. The way in which the notion of helicopter parenting was determined
in the observational study, was not the parents that simply just constantly watch the child, it is the
parents that are actively involved in the child s activities. For example, a parent who will watch the
child from a distance, and occasionally ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This would explain why parents are more likely to exhibit the behaviours of helicopter parenting
towards females, more than males. Due to the rise of helicopter parenting, many studies have been
conducted to find out what the implications of helicopter parenting in university may be. One study
being The Ramifications Of Helicopter Parenting which was conducted by the University of Houston
Law Centre. The study outlines in conclustion, that [i]ndeed, higher education professionals decry the
over involvement and interference of helicopter parents, which is more intense and regarding matters
of minutia they have never before experienced (Olivas et al, 2011, p. 34). The rise in helicopter
parenting is ultimately having an effect on how the professors and university operates, which is why it
is a major social issue in society. Throughout the study, some aspects that may have been beneficial to
change was the amount of helicopter parents that were observed. Maybe only recording data on
helicopter parents themselves may have given more concrete

Navajo Peacemaking
CAV Paper Navajo Peacemaking
Throughout Indian Country tribes have their own courts to address legal matters. However, the Navajo
Nation has a court system that stands apart from other tribes. Howard L. Brown Esq. wrote, The
Navajo Nation s Peacemaker Division: An Integrated Community Based Dispute Resolution Forum
which was published in the American Indian Law Review 1999 2000 issue and was reprinted in the
May/July 2002 issue of Dispute Resolution Journal. As a former judicial law clerk for the Supreme
Court of the Navajo Nation, Brown gained firsthand experience with the Peacemaker Division within
the Navajo Nation s Judicial Branch. He details the history, development and ceremonies associated
with this resolution forum. Two ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While talking things out family and community members will explain to the offender how they have
violated tradition and failed to fulfill the expectation of their role as a family or community member
and how it has impacted them. Brown s description of the peacemaking process is similar to Pinto s
which is illustrated via a table comparing three model s of dispute resolution. The table clearly shows
the importance of Navajo tradition in peacemaking and how it is reflected in each step of the process
via a healing ceremony and focusing on restoring harmony to the community.[8] Pinto also includes
three pages detailing the seven steps and components of the peacemaking process. The outline format
makes the process easy to understand and reinforces many points brought up by the other two authors.
Meyer describes the peacemaking process in terms similar to Brown and Pintos, but compares the
Navajo process to other tribal resolution methods. Using the Ojibwe example of cleansing the spirits

Effect of Asean Economic Integration
ASEAN: The integration effect

The Association of Southeast Asian Nations is gradually bringing the region s economies closer
together. Private equity investors stand to benefit but not all businesses are suited to cross border
expansion
The trouble hit euro zone is hardly a poster child for regional economic integration, but it has yet to
dent similar single market efforts underway in Southeast Asia.
Although the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) has been around for 45 years, it is
only in the last half decade that policies have been put in place to bring the 10 member economies ...

There is no turning back. It s not just policymakers agreeing on pie in the sky issues; there is a real
demand in the business community to get it right.
Since the region s ninth summit in 2003, when the concept of an ASEAN Community was first
endorsed, GDP has risen from $722 billion to $1.8 trillion in 2010, while GDP per capita more than
doubled to $3,100. Trade also rose twofold to $2.1 trillion, one quarter of which is intra ASEAN trade.
Over the same period, China leapfrogged the US and Japan to become ASEAN s largest trading
partner, accounting for $232 billion in imports and exports in 2010, or 11.3% of the region s total.
Foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows rose from $24.5 billion in 2003 to $76.2 billion in 2010. Intra
ASEAN capital flows have increased more than fourfold, accounting for 16.1% of the regional total in
2010 compared to 11.1% seven years ago. Only the EU contributes more.
It is a matter of debate as to who has benefited most from these developments. We have seen
multinationals take advantage of the FTA, but the problem is small and medium sized enterprises
(SMEs) don t have the manpower and resources to do the same, says Sanchita Basu Das, lead
researcher for economic affairs at the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies (ISEAS) ASEAN Studies
Center in Singapore. Around 90% of firms in the region still fall into this category.

Essay On Gst
GST India: Effects on Indian Economy
Abstract
The introduction of GST is a single move enveloping all indirect taxes that will make country single
unified common market. It is a destination based multipoint tax system covering in its ambit both
goods and services. It is single tax on the supply of goods or service, right from the manufacturer to
the consumer where credits of GST input taxes paid at each stage shall be available in the subsequent
stages of value addition, thus, makes GST essentially a tax only on the value addition at each stage.1
Hence, the final consumer will bear only the GST charged by the last dealer in the value chain along
with set off benefits at all the previous stages. All other indirect taxes will be abolished ... Show more

It has been long pending discussion to abolish various types of indirect taxes and implement a single

Poppy Flower In The Great Gatsby
The delicate beauty of a flower has been recognized by every generation, starting at even the
beginning of time and prevailing during even the grimmest of situations. In 1920, two years after the
end of WWI, a now hailed woman by the name of Moina Michael began a tradition that would last for
years to come. She, like so many others, had been deeply affected by the war and, inspired by the
poem In Flanders Fields, proposed presenting the poppy flower as a symbol of remembrance of those
who had given their lives to the war. This small proposal led to the poppy flower being worn every
Armistice day. It became a tribute to those who were strong enough to fight and die for their country,
and those who fought to right the flaws and weaknesses of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Wilson is one of the smallest yet most important people in all of The Great Gatsby. He is claimed by
his wife, Myrtle, to be a dirty little coward, which is most likely one of the reasons she leaves him in
the dust behind her (137). This statement establishes the fact that Wilson has a weakness of living
almost in fear. However, this fear backfires when Wilson finds a beautiful, silver dog collar. After
finding it, he jumps to the conclusion that it was a gift to his wife from a lover. Due to this realization,
he locks Myrtle in her room and plans to move West, proving that he had more strength than she had
anticipated. However, he does not have the emotional strength to follow through with it, and in a fit of
hysteria, Myrtle runs into the road and is instantly killed after being run over by a car. He was so
fearful of her that he did not stop her, and so ignorant that he did not realize his situation until death
came knocking at his door. As it is gracefully put by Tom, He s so dumb he doesn t know he s alive
(26). After Myrtle s death, something changes inside of him, something snaps, and it is best explained
through the words of one of Wilson s neighbors, Michaelis: He was his wife s man, not his own (137).
After placing so much into Myrtle and allowing himself to be completely taken over by her, her death
caused him to lose a sense of identity

The Emergence of The Musical Rent Essay
The Emergence of The Musical Rent
The 1996 hit musical RENT stars an amazing cast, each with his/her own powerful voice. This
musical, Jonathan Larson s first produced show, has become one of the biggest things ever on
Broadway. The concept of the show is nothing immaculate. RENT is a musical updating La Boheme
and setting it in NYC s East Village on Christmas Eve. In the opera, the Parisians are afflicted with
tuberculosis. This plague was modified to today s equivalent of the AIDS virus. This rock musical has
a majority of its cast living with, not dying from disease. We start out learning of Roger Davis who is

Destination-Personal Narrative
Arriving at our destination was a large relief for me. I was finially free from the confines the truck.
The sight before my best friend, Braden and I was a simple two story builsing where we would be
spending the weekend. I love places like that nice and secluded in the middle of nature with trees
sprawling the landscape without the eyesoars of tall buildings and the sound of dreadful traffic to
disrupt the serene environment. We were with Lew, the youth minister and other members of the
church on a great church bweekend. Just like most things that sound too good to be true it was. When
we entered the building we saw through the door a tall wooden homemade zipline made built onto a
tree. The towering structure provided much joy for the others ... Show more content on

Ethics And Moral Analysis
Introduction
Everyone s views of ethics and morals are different because we all have experience different things in
life that have contributed to the way we view things ethically acceptable. Throughout my 21 years on
this earth my views on ethics and morals have change. I think that ethics and morals are taught to us
by the people we surround ourselves with and the environment that we are in. For example, the
behaviors that I experienced in public school on the regular basis, would seem bazar to the people in
the North Hills school district, where I transferred to in my junior year of high school. In public school
people would roam the halls, talk over teachers, and do a whole lot of other things that aren t normal
in a high school setting. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In college people value their education, respecting others, communication, and other things that
rational people value. I learn a lot about ethics just from being in the college environment and also
from a lot of my course material. I actually took a business ethics class last year that focused on ethics
and I spent a whole semester talking about the subject. In the class, we learned about how your
environment can affect your ethics and values. I also learned this in my psychology life span class,
which was about studying humans and how they evolve over a life time. In this class we learn about
how your parents can have an effect on your ethics; but, they only can teach you so much. People
learn more from experience than they learn from their parents. We also learn how your perspectives of
life change through different stages of your life. For example, when you are young, you value the
opinion of your parents more than anything. In your early grade school years you try your best to
make your parents proud. At a young age parents have control of persuading their children to act in a
way that is ethically correct. If a parent encourages their child to be respectful to others the child will
try their best to follow their wishes. If a parent encourages their child to curse and hit people as an
adolescent the child will think that type of behavior is acceptable. This is

The Impact Of The Kyoto Protocol
The current status of the Paris Agreement is accompanied with very high aspirations in limiting
emissions to relatively safe levels. It lies with a new style of international cooperation, one that has
allowed 195 countries to adopt an agreement that is likely to have a significant impact on the
emissions that breaks new ground in international climate policy, by setting free to make their own
commitments. However, the global surface temperatures are predicted to rise by are predicted to rise
by 3 4 °C, far above the agreement s goal of limiting increases to 1.5 °C. This implies that chances of
success for Paris will be determined by the overall efforts to reinforce or integrate these nonbinding
commitments included in the national pledges ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In fact, both China and India s emissions increased dramatically as well as the United States is ranked
as the largest emitter per capita in the world. The absence of these three countries made treaty not as
successful. Furthermore, the system was relatively less flexible, which could be another reason the
Kyoto Protocol failed. Less flexibility is based on the concept of strictly binding commitments that
would lead countries offering conservative promises that ultimately have no real impacts on
combating emissions. In contrast, the nations approached with a new style of the treaty that aligns
with their self interests made deeper cooperation. Instead of tailoring the agreement with the
traditional top down approach where countries are centralized with a concept that the starting point of
creating a solution is to develop one concrete collective goal to resolve the issue, which was a stagnant
process with mere achievements, Paris fully implemented the model of nationally determined
contributions. By creating their own commitments, it brought greater flexibility. Divisions between the
so called developed and developing worlds were one of the major causes to yield the meager results

The Short Story Of Bravery In Unbroken
This summer I was at the Ottawa County fair doing the off road Derby. I wasn t sure about doing it at

The sandinista Revolution Essay
During the forty three year Somoza dictatorship a revolution was proved inevitable. During the period
of the Somoza regime many conflicts between the government and the people arose. Some of these
conflicts were mainly with the National Guard, but in 1978 conflicts hit its climax. In 1978, Pedro
Joaquin Chamorro, a salient newspaper editor and leader to the Somoza opposition was assassinated;
it is believed that by one of Somoza s business man. This mans death gave a deep feeling of
commotion throughout the country, establishing a nation wide strike against the Somoza government.
The National Guard responded to the attacks by assassinating many civilians and violating many

This victory sparked the general population, many uprisings followed. The National Guard did not
react well to these uprisings; many massacres came, and this made the general population angry. This
gave the Sandinistas an advantage; they were gaining many recruits for their revolution, and the
business class of Nicaragua supported the idea of ones again calling to a general national strike.
Negations to take Somoza out of power were developed by the United States, but these efforts where
crushed when Costa Rica, Venezuela, and Panama joined Cuban efforts and supported the Sandinistas.
The majority of the business class then decided that despite their Communist ideals, the Sandinistas
were the best option that they had, and supported them. On July, 19, 1979 Somoza was forced to
resign, and a forty three year dynasty came to an end. The government was the turned over to the
Council of National Reconstruction, which was selected by the Sandinistas.
The Sandinistas had appointed a broad based cabinet which included non Sandinistas to rebuild a
destroyed nation. Their goals were mainly to improve healthcare, literacy and land reforms for the
poor. It did not take much time to prove that power rested only on the Sandinistas. By 1980, all non
Sandinista leaders had left the government. The relation with the Catholic Church deteriorated greatly,
and the relation with the United States had been blocked. In

The Love Of My Life Analysis
In T. Coraghessan Boyle s story The Love of My Life, it centers around the teenage relationship of
Jeremy and China who claim to be in love with one another and nothing else matters to them. Their
relationship; however, is centered around what a relationship is like in movies and based of the
physical attraction to each other as well as being naive to what real love is as this is their first real
relationship with a significant other. The relationship between the two is great until they encounter

China s negative outlook on teen pregnancy can be concluded to the individuals around her as why she
believes what she does. Parents affect their children s views on many topics concerning various
aspects, and it seems as if China s parents have created a negative outlook on teenage pregnancy.
China says, I will never be like those breeders that bring their puffed up squalling little red faced
babies to class (Boyle 558). Her negative outlook has obviously been skewed as she believes teens
become pregnant based off of their own choice and not the product of chance. She does not seem to
understand that all the right steps can be taken to avoid pregnancy when having sex, but still the
woman can become pregnant. Her take on this subject can be attributed to believing the views of her
privileged community, families who have never been affected by teen pregnancy, and therefore, can
not give an accurate representation of their lives or how teen pregnancy may have helped their life for
the better. The quote shows her naive nature as the education on teen pregnancy does not seem
evident, but instead the words of her parents and those unaffected by teen pregnancy and taken in and
believed. Her view on pregnancy, of course, can be attributed to why she never told her parents or
anyone that she was pregnant. Now she appears as a hypocrite as she is the one who is a

A Nightmare On Elm Street Book Comparison
The year is 1987 and A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors is coming out in theaters. What
better time to capitalize on Freddy Krueger, than by releasing novelizations of A Nightmare on Elm
Street, A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy s Revenge and Dream Warriors. The first two movies
never had novelizations at the time, so it was the perfect chance to put them in book form. As for
Dream Warriors, the author XXX, based his book on an early screenplay of the movie, so the story
comes out much different than the movie we got, which makes it one of the top reason to buy the
book.
We ll start with the first A Nightmare on Elm Street. The book follows the movie as close as possible,
never deviating from the main story at all. So, if you ve seen the movie, you ve read the book. The
dialog is the same and the scenes are the same. Nancy and her friends are all dreaming of Freddy
Krueger, who systematically starts killing Nancy s friends, until it s just her and him in a standoff. It
was fun to experience the story in book form, but nothing new is provided, which is a real bummer. I
love when extra bits are added in novelizations, so colour me disappointed.

Bernardo is known as a Canadian serial killer and rapist, specifically in the southern Ontario area. He
came from a home of abuse and neglect. Despite his childhood, he graduated from University of
Toronto in the Scarborough area with a commerce and economics degree. This proved that Paul was

The Drug Crime Link Between Crime And Crime
There is a popular widespread belief in the media, politics and society that illegal drugs and addiction
to illegal drugs, in general, is the cause of a significant proportion of crime (Seddon, 2000). This idea
has exerted an increasingly strong hold on drug policies around the world (Bean, 2008), including
New Zealand. The drug crime link refers to the argument that crime is one of, if not the major,
consequent problems of drug use (Bean, 2008), essentially, crime is a problem that arises from drug
use and drug use can arise from crime also. Drugs and crime are consistently related to each other in a
number of studies, however, despite popular belief, the connection between the two are far too
complicated to summarise as a straightforward ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The drug crime link is incredibly complex and can not be simply summarised as a straightforward
relationship between the two. The prevalence of drug use and the prevalence of crime is hard to
measure and there is also a possibility that other factors influence both drug use and crime
(Hammersley, 2008).
Drug use is a largely illegal activity consequently making it extremely difficult to measure (Bean,
2008). There are a lot of problems measuring the prevalence of drug use in society as it mainly hidden
away to avoid prosecution. Coomber et al. (2013), indicates that in the last 50 100 years drug use
around the world has had an enormous growth and around five percent of the world s 15 64 year old
population had used an illicit drug at least once in the past twelve months, and additionally this seems
to be more or less the case for the recent past history. This essentially indicates that quite a number of
the population have used an illegal drug recently. If this is the case, wouldn t crime be a bigger
problem in the world? Both crime and drug use are hidden to a certain extent, known as the dark
figure where certain crimes are committed but there are no offences that have been officially recorded
(Higgins and Marcum, 2016). Even with prevalence studies and research, no one knows the exact
figure of how many people are involved, or how

Redistricting Essay
Redistricting is defined within our textbook as the redrawing of Congressional and other legislative
district lines following the census to accommodate population shifts and to keep districts as equal as
possible in population. Redistricting occurs after a census has been completed every 10 years to
maintain a more equitably distribution of fairness among minorities within each state but each state
also retains the right to request to redraw district boundaries more frequently if then need should arise.
Our study and its subsequent design ensure that the voters that who were moved into these districts are
comparable to the voters that still remain within the existing districts. Redistricting also permits us to
fittingly model the miscellany procedure. To guarantee the voters a sense of fairness and to fight
against vote reduction and weakening, these regions are drawn concisely so that a margin of the voting
age population within the newly drawn districts are minorities. In both 1990 and 2000, after each

I Thank The Great Creator For Bringing Us All Together
My fellow brothers, I thank the great creator for bringing us all together today in a time of such great
importance for the future of the Cherokee Nation. The Cherokee are a great and ancient people. Our
great ancestors together settled our nation at the beginning, coming from beyond the great waters, to
our land that surrounds what the white s now call the Appalachian mountains. Our lands were great,
vast, and provided everything our ancestors needed as a Nation. Together as one people, one Nation,

When the American people were born and became their own fledgling Nation the Cherokee Nation
again treated with the White Man to smoke the great pipe of Peace between the two Sovereign
Nations. The Cherokee nation was a patient nation, as America struggled to learn to govern among the
existing Nations of the World. When the U.S. created its new government under a new Constitution it
recognized the various native peoples as sovereign nations and established the federal government s
sole authority to enter treaties with these nations. The very Act of entering Treaties is an act between
sovereign nations.
As you know I am very old man who has seen much of the history between our two great Nations. I
have treated with the great white father Washington. The great white father recognized the Cherokee
as a sovereign nation. He treated with the Cherokee Nation just as every father of America has since.
In these treaties with the great fathers of the U.S. The Cherokee Nation and the United states defined
their borders just like any treaty the U.S. has entered into with the Nations of Spain or Great Britain.
We repeatedly tried to accommodate our white brothers insatiable appetite by ceding much of
ancestral land in hopes of quenching this thirst. In return the U.S government agreed to protect their
Cherokee Brothers just like an alliance with other foregone nations. Yet the states repeatedly ignored
these treaties and encroached upon our lands to continuously

Structure Properties Of The Polymers
I. Concept Properties of the polymers are determined by the molecular structure that comprises these
polymers (Structure Property Relationships).
A precise conclusion of the properties can be obtained if we have exact information about its chemical
structure and the force that prevails between the atoms and the molecules (intermolecular and
intramolecular forces)
Structure of the polymer can be described at various levels. From the chemical structure (i.e. its
molecular formula) it can be determined which elements are present and in what ratio.
Properties that can be determined based on their chemical structure
i. From backbone Linearity, Flexibility, Strength, Oxidation stability, etc.
Examples:
C ¬ C: helps determine flexibility, Low barrier to torsion, but sensitive to chemical attack.
C = C: helps determine Stiffness, Higher Strength, and High barrier to torsion in solids.
Aromatic Rings: Helps determine rigidity in liquids, and higher strength in solids.
Aromatic Ladder: Helps determine Ultimate rigidity. Etc.
ii. From side groups Solubility, Crystallinity, Surface properties, Steric properties, Polar interaction
between same chain or different chains, etc.
Examples:
Hydrogen as side group
C H: Helps determine hydrophobic, sensitive to free radicals, insensitive to various chemicals. If side
group with backbone C C than determines minimum barrier to torsion, etc.
Alkyl groups as side units
Aryl groups as side units
Mesogenic side groups.

to acquire target estimation information to bolster vital instructive choices, for example, instructional
strategies, evaluating, diagnostics, position, direction, educational module guides, and authoritative

Validity According to McMillan (2014), validity refers to the extent to which a test measures what it is
supposed to measure (p. 64). Additionally, validity is concerned with the degree of correspondence
with assessing the course of study or standards being taught within the classroom. In other words,
validity relates the level of significances of the inferences, excluding the test, instrument, or
procedures used to collect information (McMillan, 2014). Darling Hammond, Herman, Pellegrino, et
al. (2013) denote that with a specific end goal to be genuinely legitimate for an extensive variety of
learners, validity quantifies well what assessments imply to gauge, precisely assesses students
capacities, and correlate testing connections between the test administrators and test takers. For
classroom assessments, Bonner (as cited in McMillan, 2014) states, one of the important
consequences to consider for validity is the impact of the assessment on student learning (p. 65).
Therefore, consistently reflecting whether the assessment is reasonable in its effect on student
motivation and learning within the context in what is being taught. Concurrently, the meaning of
validity can alter in specific situations pertaining to unique perspectives of students, parents, and
stakeholders need to be taken into consideration (McMillan, 2014, p.

Driving Stick Tips Essay
Most cars include automatic transmissions, with the gears shifting systematically. Other vehicles have
a manual transmission, requiring drivers to control the shift points with a clutch, a stick shift, and the
accelerator pedal. A manual transmission provides drivers with a more engaged driving adventure,
something you can learn as you follow our tips for driving with a stick.
Driving Stick Tips
Familiarize yourself with the interior arrangement. The first of our driving stick tips will have you
getting acquainted with the interior of a car outfitted with a manual transmission, especially by taking
note of a few important distinctions. Instead of just two pedals a brake and an accelerator (gas pedal) a

Place the stick shift in neutral, hold down the clutch with your left foot and press down on the brake
with your right foot. Once the car starts, then remove your foot from the clutch.
To move the car you will depress the clutch and either put it in first gear or move the stick shift into
reverse gear. Moving to the reverse gear typically means pulling up on the stick and moving it to the
reverse position as you depress the clutch. Once engaged, begin to slowly move out of your parking
space, applying slight pressure to the gas pedal to put the car in motion. Slowly take your foot off the
clutch as you begin to move. Keep in mind that whenever you brake you must depress the clutch or
the car will stall.
On the Road
The next step in our driving stick tips will have you taking to the road. Here, you will begin your
journey in first gear and start shifting to second gear when your speed reaches 15 mph. Switching
gears to correspond to every 12 to 15 mph increase in speed is a good rule to follow. Thus, if you are
approaching 30 mph, you would shift from second to third gear. Conversely, downshift to the next

Green Lake Observation
Green Lake in the Bishop Creek Canyon is a sacred place and the happy hunting ground for the
ancestors of the Paiute people. Evidence of the habitation of these people goes back thousands of
years and indicates that this area was of prime importance for food gathering. The men hunted deer
and mountain sheep while the women and children gathered and prepared food. Everybody pitched in
on all the other chores like making camp. Summer was a wonderful time in the mountains of the
Eastern Sierra for the Paiute people. They looked forward to getting up to the higher elevations to beat
the heat of the infernal Owens Valley. Many happy times were shared in the high mountain camps of
the Paiutes. They established relationships, enjoyed the flowers in the meadows, and lived their life to
the fullest just like we do today. The only difference was that they were the only people around at the
time living a wild existence in an even more wild land inhabited by Grizzly Bears, coyotes and ravens.

Symbolic Perspective Paper
Symbolic Perspective The culture of an institutions is highly tied to the symbolic leadership (Bolman

the power of a strong and coherent institutional culture and their role and responsibilities in creating
and sustaining that culture (p. 125). Symbolic leaders view their responsibility to tell the institutional
history/stories, set the vision for the future, as well as use ceremony, rituals, and symbols to capture
the attention of others to frame the image/meaning of the university (Bolman Gallos, 2011; Pourrajab

An essential element of the symbolic prospective is knowing the institutions past, often done through
telling stories. It is through these stories that one can infer the culture and shred experiences of the
constituents of the institution. There is a lack of story telling though on a wider scale at this university.
Colleagues share their stories informal and there has been resent efforts to better use alumni for this
purpose, but there is not a systematic means to coordinate these efforts. The availability of technology
though opens up great possibilities to address this concern. Possibilities could include providing

As previously discussed the relatively short life span for students at the basic science campus prevents

Women Discrimination Paper
The word discrimination can be described in many ways around the world. My paper talks about
female discrimination in the workplace and the battle for equality. Women have been fighting for their
rights since the early 1800s. During the 1960s, women started to demand equal rights and the same
opportunities that men had been given. In 1963 John F. Kennedy signed into law the Equal Pay Act, a
federal law amending the Fair Labor Standards Act signed into law by President Franklin D.
Roosevelt in 1938 ending the gender based pay discrimination.

Piaget’S Cognitive Developmental Theory States That Children
Piaget s Cognitive Developmental Theory states that children go through four stages of cognitive
development as they actively construct their understanding of the world. Stage one of this theory, or
the sensorimotor stage, infants of the age newborn through two years construct an understanding of
the world by sensory skills (hearing and seeing) with physical actions. This for example could be a
simple game of peak a boo. Skye, the infant in the video clip, giggles at his mother playing the game.
According to Piaget s theory, young infants do not know what happens when object go out of sight.
During the first year, infants learn that objects have life of their own, even when not visible. This is
known as object permanence. Mya knew to look ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When asking the child which has more, she counted and stated that they were the same. When
spreading out the quarters in only one row, making it look like there was more in it than the other, the
child states as observed; the row with the more spread out quarters has more. This is because one row
was longer than the other. The final experiment consisted of Graham crackers. The young girl was
handed one cracker while the adult had two. The girl did not think it was very fair for the adult to have
more. When her cracker was cut in half, she instantly believed she had the same amount and was
content. These experiences were an excellent example of this stage. It would take an older child to
realize it was the same amounts. Children in this experiment was going by what they saw.
During stage three, or the concrete operational stage, children can now reason logically about concrete
events and classify objects into different sets. This stage consists of children who are older in age.
These children are between the ages of seven and eleven. Concrete operational thinkers though cannot
image the steps needed to complete a math equation. This is because it would require a level of
thinking that is too nonconcrete for this stage of development. An example of this stage uses the same
experiment in stage two with the liquids, which I believe is easy to understand because it is already
been experimented with just at a

By using TPS, information is easily available and helps managers to monitor operations within
organization. Information systems must be computerized in order to improve efficiency and
effectiveness in an organization. So, TPS are also computerized. (Valacich Schneider, 2014).
For example, At DHL Company, a world leader in logistics, they have a computerized information
system that helps clients worldwide to track their shipment and also helps the managers at DHL to
control all activities and processes with the organization. If a client asks information or an inquiry
such as where does my package reach? The staff in charge at DHL will be able to easily find
information and respond to the client due to a computerized system. This supports the operational
level of management.
Second, we have management Information Systems. This type of information systems supports
management level of an organization and it gives them a customized reports and ability to analyze the
performance of an organization. With MIS, an organization can predict the outcome of processes and
they can easily manage the information that is made by the TPS. (Valacich Schneider,

What Is The Difference Between The Godoras Box And...
Loo Wit the Fire Keeper and Pandora s Box
Some people are under the idea that myths can only explain how things were created. However, this is
disproved by many myths. The myths Loo Wit the Fire Keeper and Pandora s Box show that some
myths can also teach universal themes. Even though both Loo Wit the Fire Keeper and Pandora s box

and harmony with mankind while in Pandora s Box Zeus wants to punish mankind. In the myth
Pandora s Box, the gods create Pandora to punish the humans because of Prometheus actions. The
gods give the gift of curiosity to Pandora which causes her to eventually open a box filled with evil.
One of the many differences between the myths are that Pandora s Box explained the creation of
something completely different than Loo Wit the Fire Keeper. In Pandora s Box, the myth explained

The character of Flynn is very likable and relatable. It s easy to care about her. She s not perfect but
that s why the audience likes her. Consider exploring the idea of her fear of abandonment a bit more.
She mentions her father leaving when she was young. This would explain her need to give Chase a
consistent and secure father. It would also trigger some feelings about Nathan leaving her and her
feelings that he abandoned her, especially when she was pregnant, even though he didn t know about
her pregnancy.
At the end, she grows as a character as she realizes not just what is best for her, but what is best for

Wearable Health Monitoring Devices Can Be Enhanced By...
There is an explosive growth in wearable computing devices over the past couple of years mostly due
to technological advances in smart devices. Although most of these are self care monitoring devices
the need for assisted living where a patient can be monitored continuously using these devices are
emerging fast. In a typical tracking system, various vital biological signals, fall risks and changes in
predetermined health conditions are collected via sensors and shared with medical professionals for
intervention if necessary. Most popular applications of self care monitoring include daily activity
monitoring, emergency and fall detection, and rehabilitation. Despite these useful applications, the
paradigms such as autonomy, context awareness, and spontaneous interactions are not well integrated
into these existing systems yet.
Existing wearable health monitoring devices can be enhanced by adding adaptive biofeedback and
control capability. This will transform the current wearable health monitoring devices from a passive
monitoring device to a real time treatment assistive device. Such a device is capable of not only
collecting, storing, and monitoring raw and synthesised data similar to the current wearable healthcare
devices, but can also provide autonomous reconfiguration, controlled treatment processes by using
collected data to provide intelligent local and remote feedback with decision making. There are a large

Climate Change And The Global Economy
As climate change continues to insist on the impending destabilization of the global economy, climate
change is observed from a multitude of angles that identify threats to sustainable development. The
corollaries generated by climate change are regularly interlinked, insinuating exponential exacerbation
for the issues at hand.
Nonetheless, prompt action can yield positive results in the overlapping constituencies.
As one of the most pressing issues of our time, it is of paramount necessity to speculate what policies
are in place to enforce the mitigation of climate change. What has been done ? What can we continue
to do and to what effectiveness ?
With the figure ground reversal and the perpetual shifts that have followed, Earth has emerged as a
human work of art . Human beings were the creations of the Earth and we are beginning to take over
that role partly because of our increasing power over parts of the biosphere, our ability to affect
natural systems, but more significantly because now that we can grasp the Earth in our mind s eye, we
increasingly see that we have it in our grasp (UofT, 1993, pg. 1). The encroachment and appropriation
of natural resources have contravened with the natural state of the planet, to the extent in which
Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions have drastically weakened our atmosphere.

The Origins Of The Chubb Corporation Essay
Corporate Overview
The origins of the Chubb Corporation date back to 1882 when Thomas Caldecot Chubb and his son
Percy opened their marine underwriting business in the seaport district of New York City. Having
collected $1,000 from each of 100 prominent merchants to start their venture, they focused initially on
insuring ships and cargoes. The Chubb s were adept at turning risk into success, often by helping their
policyholders prevent disasters before they occurred. By the turn of the century, Chubb had
established strong relationships with the insurance agents and brokers who placed their clients
business with Chubb underwriters. Chubb Son did not value size in itself but regarded it as a measure
of what had been achieved. Upon the Company s 75th anniversary in 1957, Hendon Chubb who had
joined his older brother Percy in the firm in 1895 noted, I think there is perhaps a tendency in
American business to overemphasize mere size, whereas to me it should be a by product of a job well
done.
Mission Statement:
CHUBB s mission statement explains that The Chubb mission is to provide excellent services to its

electron and gamma being the release of energy at the speed of life known as gamma rays). In this
experiment, the M Ms without m represent the decaying atoms, which are launching themselves out to

Credit Card Vs. Credit Cards
In today s economy cash or a credit card is needed to meet the basic human need. It is a clear fact that
we need cash or credit to purchase items such as food, clothing, to pay bills, as well as buy gas for our
daily travels. However, when you are out shopping and discover that you have used all the cash in
your possession, which is when we realize that the benefit of having a credit card is very beneficial.
Although cash and credit cards are similar in that, they both are used to pay for goods and service.
Both can be useful for the card user when they are managed wisely. While both cash and credit card
share several differences that can affect the individuals who have them such as being stolen, high
interest rate, and personal identity. With cash you are limited to the amount that is in your wallet or
purse, unlike with a credit card, you are allowed to pay for your purchase at a later date. Both cash and
credit cards are similar in that they both are easy to carry around, and used to pay for goods and
service at the time of purchase. When making a purchase using cash, the items are paid for in full.
Cash is broadly accepted in every establishment such as department s stores, food chains, grocery
stories, as well as schools and more. Moreover, using your money to pay monthly bills carries
significant benefits such as increasing your credit rating. Same as with cash, when buying with a
credit card it allows you to pay for all your items in full as well. Equally,

The 1937 Constitution
Introduction
I propose to discuss in this paper the evolution of the 1922 Constitution followed by 1937
Constitution. I will briefly outline the political structure that was present at the time of the enactment
of both constitutions. This essay will then outline the main areas of difference between the 1922 and
1937 Constitutions and highlight the major influence that Eamon De Valera had on the creation of
Bunreacht Na hEireann. I believe the main areas of difference between the 1922 and 1937
Constitution were the religious beliefs, the powers of State and the fundamental rights.
Political background
On Easter Monday, 24th April 1916 the Easter Rising broke out. This was a Rebellion of the Irish
Nationalist against the rule of Great Britain. This rebellion marked the beginning of Ireland gaining
their Independence. Another attempt to gaining Independence of Ireland took place in 1919 when the
IRA fought the British Army in the war of independence which lasted over 2 and a half years and ...

A difference in both the constitutions is the replacement of the Governor General by The President of
Ireland. This shows the elimination of British influence in Irish politics. Another major change was
that the Prime Minister is now known as the Taoiseach and that the government of Ireland takes on the
role formerly known as the executive council of the Irish Free State. From a fundamental right
prospective the 1937 Constitution is deemed to be superior to any other source of law and regards to
making laws there is very little difference between both the 1937 and 1922

Employee Act Case Study
In 1998, Congress passed the IRS Reconstructing and Reform Act after hearings held by Congress in
1996 and 1997. There were many changes to the Internal Revenue Code of 1986. Relating to
individuals, the act states that people who fail to provide their taxpayer identification numbers are not
allowed to take the earned income credit for the year in which the failure occurs. Individuals can
deduct interest expense paid on certain student loans. Also the exclusion, from income, of gain on the
sale of a principal residence is prorated for certain taxpayers. And the use of a continuous levy must be
specifically approved by the IRS before the levy is effective.

Congress can pass legislation that alters the agencies activities, abolish existing programs,
investigative agencies and compel bureaucrats to testify. As well as influence presidential
appointments of agency heads, write legislation to limit the bureaucracies discretion.
The judiciary can rule on whether bureaucrats ha9ve acted within the law, rule on constitutionality of
all rules and regulations, and issue injunction.
The most effective check or balance on the bureaucracy is the legislative branch s power of oversight
and budget. The legislature has the power to set the budget for any bureaucratic agency. It also has the
power to summon officials from the agencies to appear at Congressional hearings to explain their
actions.
The term iron triangle is a mutually advantageous relationship among an agency, a committee, and an
interest group. An example of this kind of relationship is of the NRA and how they can lobby to block
new gun control measures. This can become an iron triangle issue if politicians respond to the NRA
lobbyists and block an initiative such as universal background checks, even if the initiative is
supported by most

In addition, it expresses the structure of words and its meaning in order to get the intended meaning.
Surface structure of discourse should be `marked`, for example, when people have speech and they
don`t use normal intonation, it should mean something, why they do that. Also when the headline of
news in the news paper use big size rather than a normal size, it should also have a meaning. In a sum
up, surface structure is kind of signal that everything means something and it can be realized through
the analysing of discourse structure. Syntax is the study of structure. It is used as approach to analyse
the intended meaning of the text through the structure, such as the structure of sentences in news

dominant personality, underscoring her leading position in her relationships. When she first appears,
Trainer wears a red jacket with a blue pencil skirt. The color red represents her outgoing
characteristics, shows her passionate feelings toward life, and reveals her aggressiveness in controlling

Explain the purpose of the study. Use the PICO or PICo format to identify the research question.
(150 words) This study does not pose a clear research question, but makes a declarative question that
identifies the purpose of the research as follows: Do you use social media? A study into new nursing

Quantitative data were collected from 112 (93%) survey respondents from a 2014 sample of 121
nurses and midwives. Findings from each method are integrated into the interpretation phase of the
study (Richardson Tench et al 2014). It is, however, important to note that quantitised qualitative data
is vulnerable to collinearity and statistical measurement limitations, as small sample sizes can fail to
support the research.
Identify and explain sampling and recruitment procedures were in the research.
(200 words) The study sample comprised of 112 Australian and New Zealand newly graduate nursing
and midwifery respondents in a 2014 sample of 121 participants. The sample participants were mainly
women (96%) reported as mostly registered nurses (93%) who had graduated in 2009 (60%) and 2008
(40%) (Tuckett Turner 2016). The small sample size is not a representative of all graduates in
Australia and New Zealand, and participants are geographically confined to these countries, which
limits global generalizability of findings (Tuckett Turner 2016). However, table 1 within the study
does provide clear information on the demographics for the study participants. The response rate of
the participants is also clearly stated. The type of sampling used within the study appears to be non
probability sampling. In purposive non probability sampling, participants are selected based on the

Essay on The Poor Law
The Poor Law
The Poor Law was a system established since the reign of Queen Elizabeth I, about two hundred years
before the Poor Law Amendment Act of 1834. In this system the able bodied poor should be set to
work, whilst the others had to be provided for by their parish of birth. By 1795 when the whole system
was under strain, an attempted solution was the Speenhamland system also know as the allowance
system that was devised in 1795. This was devised to relieve the acute distress of the poor by giving
money to families calculated according to the number of children and the price of bread.
As the Poor Law was becoming increasingly costly throughout the years, there had to be change in
order ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was obvious that the same new measures were needed primarily to save money on the rates but also
possibly to tackle the causes of poverty. No solution appeared other than the complete abolishment of
the poor allowance, which few wanted. Under the allowance system, one could work and receive
outdoor relief in the form of cash payments as long as you resided in the parish of your birth. This
system was said to encourage laziness as the poor would have no incentive to work hard or to respect
their employers as they knew that their parish would look after them. The allowance system was
regarded by the ruling class as an unmitigated evil . Payment of allowances was thought to encourage
reckless breeding and immorality and the inflated poor rates were a grievance burden on agriculture,
hindering investment and enterprises, crushing the small tenant or freeholder. Farmers no longer had
to pay their labourers decent wages when they could get relief from the parish.
The administration of the Poor relief and contracts for Poor Law work for supplying food, were
awarded to local tradesmen rather than put to open tender. Overseers were the ones who would
determine who was deserving and who was undeserving . But concerned ratepayers suggested that
these two sections were one way in which vested interests were exploiting the system. This led to
criticisms towards these as it was believed that

  • 2. Helicopter Parenting Observational Study After observing parents and the way in which they behave towards their children, it has became apparent that parents are more likely to display the behaviours and traits of helicopter parenting towards females, rather than males. In the observation charts, it is clear that many of the parents portray the qualities of helicopter parenting. Ten out of thirty parents were displaying the qualities of helicopter parenting, to be exact. The way in which the notion of helicopter parenting was determined in the observational study, was not the parents that simply just constantly watch the child, it is the parents that are actively involved in the child s activities. For example, a parent who will watch the child from a distance, and occasionally ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This would explain why parents are more likely to exhibit the behaviours of helicopter parenting towards females, more than males. Due to the rise of helicopter parenting, many studies have been conducted to find out what the implications of helicopter parenting in university may be. One study being The Ramifications Of Helicopter Parenting which was conducted by the University of Houston Law Centre. The study outlines in conclustion, that [i]ndeed, higher education professionals decry the over involvement and interference of helicopter parents, which is more intense and regarding matters of minutia they have never before experienced (Olivas et al, 2011, p. 34). The rise in helicopter parenting is ultimately having an effect on how the professors and university operates, which is why it is a major social issue in society. Throughout the study, some aspects that may have been beneficial to change was the amount of helicopter parents that were observed. However, the Navajo Nation has a court system that stands apart from other tribes. Howard L. Brown Esq. wrote, The Navajo Nation s Peacemaker Division: An Integrated Community Based Dispute Resolution Forum which was published in the American Indian Law Review 1999 2000 issue and was reprinted in the May/July 2002 issue of Dispute Resolution Journal. The table clearly shows the importance of Navajo tradition in peacemaking and how it is reflected in each step of the process via a healing ceremony and focusing on restoring harmony to the community.[8] Pinto also includes three pages detailing the seven steps and components of the peacemaking process. The outline format makes the process easy to understand and reinforces many points brought up by the other two authors. Private equity investors stand to benefit but not all businesses are suited to cross border expansion The trouble hit euro zone is hardly a poster child for regional economic integration, but it has yet to dent similar single market efforts underway in Southeast Asia. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There is no turning back. It s not just policymakers agreeing on pie in the sky issues; there is a real demand in the business community to get it right. Since the region s ninth summit in 2003, when the concept of an ASEAN Community was first endorsed, GDP has risen from $722 billion to $1.8 trillion in 2010, while GDP per capita more than doubled to $3,100. Trade also rose twofold to $2.1 trillion, one quarter of which is intra ASEAN trade. Over the same period, China leapfrogged the US and Japan to become ASEAN s largest trading partner, accounting for $232 billion in imports and exports in 2010, or 11.3% of the region s total. Foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows rose from $24.5 billion in 2003 to $76.2 billion in 2010. Intra ASEAN capital flows have increased more than fourfold, accounting for 16.1% of the regional total in 2010 compared to 11.1% seven years ago. Only the EU contributes more. It is a matter of debate as to who has benefited most from these developments. We have seen multinationals take advantage of the FTA, but the problem is small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) don t have the manpower and resources to do the same, says Sanchita Basu Das, lead researcher for economic affairs at the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies (ISEAS) ASEAN Studies Center in Singapore. Poppy Flower In The Great Gatsby The delicate beauty of a flower has been recognized by every generation, starting at even the beginning of time and prevailing during even the grimmest of situations. In 1920, two years after the end of WWI, a now hailed woman by the name of Moina Michael began a tradition that would last for years to come. She, like so many others, had been deeply affected by the war and, inspired by the poem In Flanders Fields, proposed presenting the poppy flower as a symbol of remembrance of those who had given their lives to the war. This small proposal led to the poppy flower being worn every Armistice day. It became a tribute to those who were strong enough to fight and die for their country, and those who fought to right the flaws and weaknesses of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Wilson is one of the smallest yet most important people in all of The Great Gatsby. He is claimed by his wife, Myrtle, to be a dirty little coward, which is most likely one of the reasons she leaves him in the dust behind her (137). This statement establishes the fact that Wilson has a weakness of living almost in fear. However, this fear backfires when Wilson finds a beautiful, silver dog collar. After finding it, he jumps to the conclusion that it was a gift to his wife from a lover. Due to this realization, he locks Myrtle in her room and plans to move West, proving that he had more strength than she had anticipated. However, he does not have the emotional strength to follow through with it, and in a fit of hysteria, Myrtle runs into the road and is instantly killed after being run over by a car. He was so fearful of her that he did not stop her, and so ignorant that he did not realize his situation until death came knocking at his door. As it is gracefully put by Tom, He s so dumb he doesn t know he s alive (26). After Myrtle s death, something changes inside of him, something snaps, and it is best explained through the words of one of Wilson s neighbors, Michaelis: He was his wife s man, not his own (137). After placing so much into Myrtle and allowing himself to be completely taken over by her, her death caused him to lose a sense of identity ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Ethics And Moral Analysis Introduction Everyone s views of ethics and morals are different because we all have experience different things in life that have contributed to the way we view things ethically acceptable. Throughout my 21 years on this earth my views on ethics and morals have change. I think that ethics and morals are taught to us by the people we surround ourselves with and the environment that we are in. For example, the behaviors that I experienced in public school on the regular basis, would seem bazar to the people in the North Hills school district, where I transferred to in my junior year of high school. In public school people would roam the halls, talk over teachers, and do a whole lot of other things that aren t normal in a high school setting. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In college people value their education, respecting others, communication, and other things that rational people value. I learn a lot about ethics just from being in the college environment and also from a lot of my course material. I actually took a business ethics class last year that focused on ethics and I spent a whole semester talking about the subject. In the class, we learned about how your environment can affect your ethics and values. I also learned this in my psychology life span class, which was about studying humans and how they evolve over a life time. In this class we learn about how your parents can have an effect on your ethics; but, they only can teach you so much. People learn more from experience than they learn from their parents. We also learn how your perspectives of life change through different stages of your life. For example, when you are young, you value the opinion of your parents more than anything. In your early grade school years you try your best to make your parents proud. At a young age parents have control of persuading their children to act in a way that is ethically correct. If a parent encourages their child to be respectful to others the child will try their best to follow their wishes. If a parent encourages their child to curse and hit people as an adolescent the child will think that type of behavior is acceptable. This is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It lies with a new style of international cooperation, one that has allowed 195 countries to adopt an agreement that is likely to have a significant impact on the emissions that breaks new ground in international climate policy, by setting free to make their own commitments. However, the global surface temperatures are predicted to rise by are predicted to rise by 3 4 °C, far above the agreement s goal of limiting increases to 1.5 °C. The absence of these three countries made treaty not as successful. Furthermore, the system was relatively less flexible, which could be another reason the Kyoto Protocol failed. Less flexibility is based on the concept of strictly binding commitments that would lead countries offering conservative promises that ultimately have no real impacts on combating emissions. In contrast, the nations approached with a new style of the treaty that aligns with their self interests made deeper cooperation. Instead of tailoring the agreement with the traditional top down approach where countries are centralized with a concept that the starting point of creating a solution is to develop one concrete collective goal to resolve the issue, which was a stagnant process with mere achievements, Paris fully implemented the model of nationally determined contributions. During the period of the Somoza regime many conflicts between the government and the people arose. Some of these conflicts were mainly with the National Guard, but in 1978 conflicts hit its climax. In 1978, Pedro Joaquin Chamorro, a salient newspaper editor and leader to the Somoza opposition was assassinated; it is believed that by one of Somoza s business man. Negations to take Somoza out of power were developed by the United States, but these efforts where crushed when Costa Rica, Venezuela, and Panama joined Cuban efforts and supported the Sandinistas. What better time to capitalize on Freddy Krueger, than by releasing novelizations of A Nightmare on Elm Street, A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy s Revenge and Dream Warriors. The first two movies never had novelizations at the time, so it was the perfect chance to put them in book form. As for Dream Warriors, the author XXX, based his book on an early screenplay of the movie, so the story comes out much different than the movie we got, which makes it one of the top reason to buy the book. We ll start with the first A Nightmare on Elm Street. The book follows the movie as close as possible, never deviating from the main story at all. So, if you ve seen the movie, you ve read the book. The dialog is the same and the scenes are the same. Nancy and her friends are all dreaming of Freddy Krueger, who systematically starts killing Nancy s friends, until it s just her and him in a standoff. The Drug Crime Link Between Crime And Crime There is a popular widespread belief in the media, politics and society that illegal drugs and addiction to illegal drugs, in general, is the cause of a significant proportion of crime (Seddon, 2000). This idea has exerted an increasingly strong hold on drug policies around the world (Bean, 2008), including New Zealand. The drug crime link refers to the argument that crime is one of, if not the major, consequent problems of drug use (Bean, 2008), essentially, crime is a problem that arises from drug use and drug use can arise from crime also. The prevalence of drug use and the prevalence of crime is hard to measure and there is also a possibility that other factors influence both drug use and crime (Hammersley, 2008). Drug use is a largely illegal activity consequently making it extremely difficult to measure (Bean, 2008). There are a lot of problems measuring the prevalence of drug use in society as it mainly hidden away to avoid prosecution. Coomber et al. (2013), indicates that in the last 50 100 years drug use around the world has had an enormous growth and around five percent of the world s 15 64 year old population had used an illicit drug at least once in the past twelve months, and additionally this seems to be more or less the case for the recent past history. This essentially indicates that quite a number of the population have used an illegal drug recently. If this is the case, wouldn t crime be a bigger problem in the world? Both crime and drug use are hidden to a certain extent, known as the dark figure where certain crimes are committed but there are no offences that have been officially recorded (Higgins and Marcum, 2016). Redistricting Essay Redistricting is defined within our textbook as the redrawing of Congressional and other legislative district lines following the census to accommodate population shifts and to keep districts as equal as possible in population. Redistricting occurs after a census has been completed every 10 years to maintain a more equitably distribution of fairness among minorities within each state but each state also retains the right to request to redraw district boundaries more frequently if then need should arise. Our study and its subsequent design ensure that the voters that who were moved into these districts are comparable to the voters that still remain within the existing districts. Redistricting also permits us to fittingly model the miscellany procedure. To guarantee the voters a sense of fairness and to fight against vote reduction and weakening, these regions are drawn concisely so that a margin of the voting age population within the newly drawn districts are minorities. Climate Change And The Global Economy As climate change continues to insist on the impending destabilization of the global economy, climate change is observed from a multitude of angles that identify threats to sustainable development. The corollaries generated by climate change are regularly interlinked, insinuating exponential exacerbation for the issues at hand. Nonetheless, prompt action can yield positive results in the overlapping constituencies. As one of the most pressing issues of our time, it is of paramount necessity to speculate what policies are in place to enforce the mitigation of climate change. What has been done ? What can we continue to do and to what effectiveness ? With the figure ground reversal and the perpetual shifts that have followed, Earth has emerged as a human work of art . Human beings were the creations of the Earth and we are beginning to take over that role partly because of our increasing power over parts of the biosphere, our ability to affect natural systems, but more significantly because now that we can grasp the Earth in our mind s eye, we increasingly see that we have it in our grasp (UofT, 1993, pg. 1). The encroachment and appropriation of natural resources have contravened with the natural state of the planet, to the extent in which Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions have drastically weakened our atmosphere. The Origins Of The Chubb Corporation Essay Corporate Overview The origins of the Chubb Corporation date back to 1882 when Thomas Caldecot Chubb and his son Percy opened their marine underwriting business in the seaport district of New York City. Having collected $1,000 from each of 100 prominent merchants to start their venture, they focused initially on insuring ships and cargoes. By the turn of the century, Chubb had established strong relationships with the insurance agents and brokers who placed their clients business with Chubb underwriters. I will briefly outline the political structure that was present at the time of the enactment of both constitutions. This essay will then outline the main areas of difference between the 1922 and 1937 Constitutions and highlight the major influence that Eamon De Valera had on the creation of Bunreacht Na hEireann. I believe the main areas of difference between the 1922 and 1937 Constitution were the religious beliefs, the powers of State and the fundamental rights. Political background On Easter Monday, 24th April 1916 the Easter Rising broke out. This was a Rebellion of the Irish Nationalist against the rule of Great Britain. In this system the able bodied poor should be set to work, whilst the others had to be provided for by their parish of birth. By 1795 when the whole system was under strain, an attempted solution was the Speenhamland system also know as the allowance system that was devised in 1795. This was devised to relieve the acute distress of the poor by giving money to families calculated according to the number of children and the price of bread. It was obvious that the same new measures were needed primarily to save money on the rates but also possibly to tackle the causes of poverty. No solution appeared other than the complete abolishment of the poor allowance, which few wanted. Under the allowance system, one could work and receive outdoor relief in the form of cash payments as long as you resided in the parish of your birth. This system was said to encourage laziness as the poor would have no incentive to work hard or to respect their employers as they knew that their parish would look after them. The allowance system was regarded by the ruling class as an unmitigated evil . Payment of allowances was thought to encourage reckless breeding and immorality and the inflated poor rates were a grievance burden on agriculture, hindering investment and enterprises, crushing the small tenant or freeholder. Farmers no longer had to pay their labourers decent wages when they could get relief from the parish. The administration of the Poor relief and contracts for Poor Law work for supplying food, were awarded to local tradesmen rather than put to open tender. Overseers were the ones who would determine who was deserving and who was undeserving . But concerned ratepayers suggested that these two sections were one way in which vested interests were exploiting the system. This led to criticisms towards these as it was believed that ...
