Wi Fi For Education And Information Systems
Wi Fi for Education and Information Systems in Indian Rural Communities Throughout developing
nations, access to Wi Fi is limited to none. There are huge advantages to having access to the Internet
in various ways. An extremely important advantage to Wi Fi availability is so one can access the
Internet for information to educate their selves. The Internet is filled with information right at ones
fingertips that can be accessed at any time. Some countries such as India have numerous rural
communities that cannot access this information. Lack of Internet access in today s world can prove to
be detrimental to one s life. People who live in these communities throughout the world that do not
have access to Wi Fi are often less educated and at ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is where the MDG Wi Fi for Education comes into play. Wi Fi for Education is a MDG discussed
in the book Designing A World That Works For All by Medard Gabel. This MDG discuss the strategy
to provide those living in the developing world with Internet access via affordable Wi Fi so that
education related material could be provided to them as it is to many throughout the world. According
to the book, Its goals include providing Internet access (email plus phone service) to 4 billion people,
living in the developing world, for $1/month and to use the Internet as a medium for education... This
is an important factor because people living in these rural communities would not be able to afford Wi
Fi when offered if it was not at an affordable rate. This is because most people living in these
communities live a life of poverty and simply cannot afford to pay substantial amounts for Internet
access. There also seems to be a few choices in setting up a Wi Fi infrastructure in developing nations,
including a solar powered communications station. Costs range from $500 per village to $1000 per
village to set up a Wi Fi infrastructure, to $2000 for a village wide solar powered communications
station. These numbers may seem to be quite affordable, but one must understand how many rural
villages in India have a need for this infrastructure. Prices can total up $638 million in order to

Pawley s Island Research Paper
If you were forced to pick your paradise, where do you think your thoughts would take you? Would
you go to the quaint wooden cabin in Michigan that has been in the family for years? Or would you
think of your cozy apartment a top a skyscraper in your favorite concrete jungle? Without a second
thought, my mind rushes to Pawley s Island, South Carolina. As locals describe it best, the elegantly
shabby beachside town 40 minutes from Charleston has been my chosen vacation spot since
childhood. Between the hammock shops, crabbing in the creeks and ghost stories, there is always
something to entertain you on the island. With only the best memories there, never did I think that
there would be something to hold me back from indulging in the lazy ... Show more content on

My serenity swam away with the drifting jellyfish that left nothing but pain. How could this happen to
me in the most harmonious place in the world? I had spent countless hours jumping and swimming in
the water with the sand encompassing my toes. Never did a thought of worry flip through my mind.
Now I never wanted let my toes indulge in the warmth of the sand or let my piecey hair fall across my
tanned back. I was brought out of my painful daze while looking down at my dad pouring vinegar and
rubbing a credit card repeatedly over the sting. Not knowing what to expect I looked down to see that
my shin had puffed up multiple inches and turned a purple color. I was escorted upstairs to the
condominium and had strict instructions to stay on the couch in front of the sliding glass doors. I
peered out to see the dark, eerie water filled with many unknowns. No longer was it a sight of beauty,
it had turned into an ominous view that was filled with gloomy and painful memories. My eyelids slid
shut as I tried to escape my once paradise, and now nightmare. Sitting on the beach 3 years later, I let
my pale skin burn to a crisp in hope to bring home a tan that my friends will be envious of. A drip of
sweat fell down my cheek and I peered out to the massive waves crashing onto the gentle sand. The
overcast clouds reflected a gloomy reflection down onto the waves. I watched as the tide pulled on the
sand in different directions. The sand, not being able to resist

Network Security And The Network
Abstract
Network security is a broad term used to refer to processes and procedures that are configured by a
company s network administrator to provide visibility and prevent denial of service, unauthorized
access, modification and exploitation of the corporate network or respective resources. The resources
refer to files or computer programs available on the corporate network infrastructure. The
infrastructure comprise of corporate software and hardware resources that facilitate communication,
connectivity, management and operations within the corporate network. (Vacca, 2014)
This infrastructure thus provides a communication path between applications, users, services,
processes and external networks like the internet. Typically, a ... Show more content on

The network security manager can equally use intrusion detection systems and anti virus software to
prevent unauthorized access and blocking harmful viruses and malware from entering a network
respectively. This paper however, does not focus on these approaches but primarily focuses on how
firewalls enhance network security. A firewall is a security technology designed to avoid unauthorized
access to or from a private network. Firewalls can be placed in both hardware and software, or can
also be placed in both hardware and software. Firewalls are usually used to prevent unauthorized
access on a network. All messages entering or leaving the network go through a firewall, the firewall
analyses all the messages and then blocks the messages that do not meet the security standards. The
administrator sets the security standards which packets need to meet, he/she will decide which packet
is suitable to pass through the firewall. (Webopedia.com, 2017), (Services, 2017). Once an
administrator has set up a policy, it then needs to be tested to determine if the firewall has been
correctly implemented.
Introduction
Network security has become a major concern in the computing industry, including organizations,
personal users and the military. The reason for this is due to the large number of security threats that
occur on a daily basis. The internet architecture itself allows many threats to

Procedure Of Company Incorporation Of A Company
PROCEDURE OF COMPANY INCORPORATION The company incorporation is carried out in
following two steps: Step 1 Name approval Submission of application for name availability An
application is required to be submitted online in Form No. 1A to RoC to ascertain the availability of
the name along with filing fee of Rs. 500. The application should mention at least four names upto a
maximum of six 6 names, in order of preference. It is at the discretion of the RoC which of these four
they choose to allot. It may be noted that the RoC usually insists that the name of any Indian company
should be reflective of the main activities carried on by it. The significance and use of the word
(Brand name) should be justified. Board resolution should be passed by the promoter companies
considering following matters:  incorporation of a company in India.  allowing the usage of Brand
name in the name of Indian company (this will be required to be stated in the board resolution of the
promoter company whose name is proposed to be used in the Indian company).  authorization of an

Similarities Between Crossing And Dwelling
Before, the Africans were forced to migrate to the America, they had their own individual religions.
They practiced their tribal religions which varied because they were from different parts of Africa.
During the African Diaspora, African s were deported to America in the Atlantic Slave Trade. These
Africans were from the same continent but they had their own identities, languages, and beliefs. The
Europeans captured and enslaved these Africans from different countries in Africa so they weren t able
to communicate with each other and possibly rebel. In Crossing and Dwelling, Tweed s theory is about
how religion is geographical meaning it is distinct to a particular location. This explains why the slave

Talent Attrition and Retention Efforts in Maersk
1.0 Introduction
In today s highly competitive environment, the biggest challenge that most successful businesses face
is to arrest attrition and retain talent. What is more, people s ambitions are fast changing and concepts
like loyalty do not seem relevant anymore. Tried and tested methods are fast losing their effectiveness
as talented employees become immune to such formula driven approaches. Money is important but
not adequate to solve the problem. That your attrition rates are comparable to industry is no
consolation. Companies are losing highly talented people, walking away with accumulated knowledge
and experience that is not easily replicable.

As much a gain the diversity brings on the table, the elements of managing the expectation becomes a
greater test to preserve harmonious relationship while acknowledging the need for difference in
anticipation of ideas thrown across.
Lack of proper motivation and being a victim of different sets of expectations, kills off the burning
desire to excel and may drag to eventual departure of a talent from the organization. Imagine a young
Japanese manager (product of talent pool) being tasked to perform at an Indian office, where the
culturally varied working ethics at the latter organization hinder the bonding and performance of the
young Japanese manager. The different sets of approach from the local offices complicate the young
manager s drive to succeed. The Indian office fails to harness the benefits of the Japanese working
ethics, rather prefer to broadcast the differences for its own bragging rights.
For this assignment, I have collected data from year 2000 to 2004 (myself being a M.I.S.E. graduate

The Decision For A Company
The decision for a company to merge with another company, especially a rival firm, can be both
rewarding and challenging at times. In an effort to ensure that businesses do not attempt to merge with
an intention to deceit, the Federal Trade Commission was established. The Federal Trade Commission
(FTC) defined as an independent federal agency whose main goals are to protect consumers and to
ensure a strong competitive market by enforcing a variety of consumer protection and antitrust laws
(Investopedia, 2015). The FTC has the responsibility to ensure that businesses are adhering to good
business practices and following business rules. If violations are discovered, the company needs to be
handled in accordance with the laws set ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to ftc.gov, it protects the consumer by stopping unfair, deceptive or fraudulent practices in
the marketplace. We conduct investigations, sue companies and people that violate the law, develop
rules to ensure a vibrant marketplace, and educate consumers and businesses about their rights and
responsibilities. We collect complaints about hundreds of issues from data security and deceptive
advertising to identity theft and Do Not Call violations, and make them available to law enforcement
agencies worldwide for follow up. Our experienced and motivated staff uses 21st century tools to
anticipate and respond to changes in the marketplace (FTC, 2015). In this scenario, the FTC is
concerned with the merger and the market power of the through the merger. The FTC is also
challenged to promote competition. Competition in America is about price, selection, and service. It
benefits consumers by keeping prices low and the quality and choice of goods and services high. By
enforcing antitrust laws, the FTC helps ensure that our markets are open and free. The FTC will
challenge anticompetitive mergers and business practices that could harm consumers by resulting in
higher prices, lower quality, fewer choices, or reduced rates of innovation. We monitor business
practices, review potential mergers, and challenge them when appropriate to ensure that the market

Viva La Vida And The Count Of Monte Cristo
While each piece of literature is completely different, some of them have similar patterns and ideas.
One of these ideas would be human nature. Human nature is anything that is natural for a human to do
and can not be stopped easily. Things like greed and too much power can change someone greatly.
This can be the cause of many problems and can make someone who is a good person into a bad
person. In Viva La Vida and The Count of Monte Cristo, the writers use of allusions and metaphors
convey the idea that human nature can be the cause of misfortune.
The story of Viva La Vida, by Coldplay, is about a king who has too much power and ends up being
overthrown from people in his kingdom. Coldplay expresses this story in metaphors.
I used ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This king had the key to the castle, meaning that he knew what the people wanted. The way Coldplay
explains this story makes it seem like the people living in the king s castle turned on him, hence the
reference to the walls closing in on himself. This king must have been hated for something he did,
then again, every human makes mistakes. Although, this must not have been the first time because he
lost his whole castle just from a mistake. Then he starts to realize why he was wrong. The downfall of
this king could have been from bragging about his power too much since it is human nature to brag.
Or possibly being overwhelmed with too much power giving his enemies a chance to attack. Another
metaphor with the same meaning can be found in The Count of Monte Cristo. The same thing that
happened to Brutus the night before the Battle of Philippi: I saw a ghost. And that ghost told me I have
lived long enough (Dumas 381). At this moment in the story, the count is preparing for his duel with
Albert. He then tells Maximilien that he plans on dying during the duel and leaving Maximilien his
will. Maximilien is shocked and asks the count why he would ever do such a thing. The count
responds with the above quote. This quote is a metaphor and shows how it is in a human s nature to
want to forget the people who you don t like. This quote uses the example of Mercedes since she was
the ghost that came to Dantes the night before the duel and begged him not to kill her son. Dantes
responds by saying that he can not live with the dishonor of backing away from a duel, so he agreed to

Literary Analysis Of Faith And Roses
Faith and Roses
Love can be a strange and wonderful thing. Some will have their first kiss at the end of elementary
school, and some will only start dating once their adults. Some can fall for a childhood friend they
knew all their life, and some will be awe struck by a stranger passing by. Some will marry their high
school sweet heart, while some others settle down much later in life. To say love is complicated is an
understatement, and trying to understand it can by quite puzzling. Luckily, there are always people
who have firsthand experience willing to share a snippet of their wisdom. Both Robert Herrick and
Barbara Greenberg try to caution naĂŻve virgins about love in To the Virgins, to Make Much of Time
and The Faithful Wife respectfully. While one poem incites young people to make the most of their
freedom, the other warns of the dangers of marrying too quickly. Both works use a number of various
techniques and also share a few in common.
Other than sharing the general theme of love, both poems take it upon themselves to advise young
lovers of risks they taking by marrying early. Even though the poems have an overall similar message,
they deliver it in completely different ways. To the Virgins, to Make Much of Time strongly suggests
the virgins have fun and explore while they are still capable. Herrick explicitly stats so with his
opening verse: Gather ye rose buds while ye may, In this case the rose buds are opportunities ripe for
picking, however one must be inclined to act fast because they will not stay that way forever. The
author encourages the virgins to pick the rose buds, in this case the opportunities, while they can,
before old age prevents them from doing so. Not only that, but Herrick dedicates a whole two
strophes, half the poem, to the passing of time. By doing so, the author greatly emphasises how quick
time can go by, and a person s youth with it. On the other hand, The Faithful Wife is a poem solely
based on the question What of? The speaker in the poem begins said poem with a completely
hypothetical statement: If she were to have a lover. This immediately implies that the speaker is in a
rather rocky marriage. As she goes on and adds more and more detail to her

My High School Experiences
Many people think that I ve got everything going for me. I m captain of my school s varsity

future ahead of me. Few people understand that getting to where I am hasn t been easy. I have to admit
that I m disappointed with some of today s youth. Most of us want to get high paying jobs that don t
require tedious work. They want to forget college, to forget the future. They don t care about the
outcomes of their doings. They think that school should be something that shouldn t be taken

We were careless, and we forgot to use our time wisely. The team geared up to defend our

road to winning. I could only pray that God would have pity on us. Our routine was amazingly
choreographed, and I knew that if we pulled it off perfectly, we would have no problems. Surely, I
thought, God would bless us for a fifth time. Unfortunately, two days before the competition, a
teammate of mine got injured during one of our practices. At first, we all thought it was a sprain, but it
turned out that she had fractured her ankle. It was the same day of prom, so most of us were blissfully
unaware of what had happened. The next day, however, we found out what really happened. I was
crushed. I cried for hours, just worrying and praying to God. What would we do? We couldn t back
out, we were the defending champions. I just prayed that God would help us find a way through this;
that God would take care of us. The day of the competition, we had no choice but to alter the routine
completely. We had to change the stunts, the blocking, and the skills. We also had to clean it up as
soon as possible. We arrived at the Manila Coliseum prepared, but not completely sure of what we
were to do. I was extremely nervous. We did our best, but it turned out that our best wasn t enough. I

The Outsiders In The Outsiders By S. E Hinton
The book The Outsiders by S.E Hinton, Ponyboy forms a different identity throughout the book. At
the beginning of the book, Ponyboy s identity is an outsider to the greasers and to his community. He
does different things, like watch movies without being disturbing, he s good in school and he likes to
read books. Out of the gang Ponyboy didn t have friends. His gang doesn t read books or watch
movies like he does. The greasers just work hard and long on cars at gas stations. Ponyboy has
potential though, he is smart. Ponyboy s identity is different then the the others in his gang. On page 2,
it says, When I see a movie with someone it s kind of uncomfortable, like having someone read your

Snow White And The Huntsman Film Techniques
The film Snow White and the Huntsman depicts the journey between the two main characters Snow
White and Ravenna the evil Queen. Snow White, who is played by Kristen Stewart for majority of the
film, has been locked in her slain father s castle for years. The character is imprisoned by her father s
evil second wife played by Charlize Theron, whose now queen. The Queen also lives in fear of losing
of her young appearance and uses the blood of virgins to restore it. She tests the success of this with
the well known mirror on the wall. When the magic mirror reveals that Snow White is the source of
her immortality, the queen seeks to kill Snow White. In Snow White and the Huntsman many patterns
are used like the camera shots of the film, lighting and color. The pattern of camera shots is seen
throughout the movie using close ups shots and wide range shots. For example, when Snow White
fled from the castle and is chased by the Queen s horsemen into the Dark Forest, there are close up
shots of medieval like armor enforcing the idea that the film is not in modern day and the action of the
film will be done with weapons like swords and axes. Close up shots of Snow White and Ravenna
dictates who is in power and who is not. The shots show Snow White wearing peasant s clothing,
whereas the Queen wears jewelry, expensive clothes and a crown. Wide range shots are shown in film
with vast plains, castles and battles giving a sense of realism to the setting. Lighting is another pattern

Ginger And The Natural Morning Sickness Remedies
Ginger And The Natural Morning Sickness Remedies
One of the most amazing fact about this herb is its power for treating morning sickness symptoms.
Several studies determined that ginger is equally as effective as vitamin B6 in treating vomiting and
nausea of pregnancy.
Because it s not advisable for your developing baby to be exposed to any drug, ginger being a herb
can be one of many safest cures for morning sickness.
Ginger tea has long been utilized for treating morning sickness in several countries. This beverage is
often made by slicing or grating moderate volume of peeled ginger roots poured with very hot water
and a few drops of honey and lemon to add flavor. In some areas of Asia, the tea is made by boiling
peeled, sliced ginger and in most cases added with brown sugar and lemon or sliced orange to
incorporate flavor.
In many studies, ginger has been verified to be more therapeutic than simply a placebo for morning
sickness and motion sickness. When other home treatments don t appear to work for you, try the
ginger tea, it s possibly all you need to get rid of the woes of morning sickness.
Vomiting and nausea could be the most terrible part of pregnancy. Even so, it can be controlled when
you understand the several natural cures for morning sickness. The therapies are probably hiding
within your kitchen. If you happen to know them, you may not have to go elsewhere.

Long Term Effects Of The Holocaust
The Holocaust was a tragedy. According to ushmm.org, The Holocaust was the systematic,
bureaucratic, state sponsored persecution and murder of six million Jews by the Nazi regime and its
collaborators . This is a perfect explanation of the Holocaust seeing that so many innocent people were
killed. If they weren t they inevitably went through a great deal of pain whether it be from the abuse or
watching all of their loved ones die. The Holocaust was intolerably devastating for many, tight
quarters in all ghettos, and gruesome experiments on twins caused extreme pain for over 3,000 twins
(thoughtco.com).
Resources were lacking in all respects during the Holocaust. Scarcity of necessities made life in the
ghettos tortuous, at best mildly tolerable. The ghettos were broken down in many ways. The plumbing
was horrific, there was garbage everywhere especially in the streets, as well as human defecation.
These conditions, as well as tight quarters made the ghettos a breeding ground for numerous diseases.
Once the diseases started spreading there was no good way to stop it because the immune systems of
many were compromised, as a result of the almost nonexistent rations of food they were provided. To
remedy this many of the small children would squeeze through the barriers of the ghetto and find
food. However, they did this at great risk because if caught there would be severe consequences, if not
execution. In addition, winters were even worse, on account of the fact that many

Coming Of Age Films Essay
For this paper, I am going to be discussing gender in the institution of films. Specifically, I am going
to be discussing femininity in coming of age films. Coming of age movies set an expectation for teens
and young adults because it lays out what they should fear and what they should thrive achieve in
order to transition into adulthood successfully. The media defines cultural and gender norms that are
often very stereotypical. The cultivation theory suggests that exposure to stereotypes in the media can
lead to adopting these beliefs in their real lives (Giaccardi et al., 2016). In the media, masculinity is

Unemployment On The Us Economy Essay
Name: Instructor: Subject: Date: Unemployment in US economy The unemployment turnover view
has a strong base on the contemporary thinking about unemployment in the entire United States.
Joblessness or unemployment takes place when an individual searches for another new job and
devotes most of time searching for another job. Moreover, unemployment comes into being if an
individual goes in search of a new employment after being out of labor force for a long time. The
individuals in search of employment get employed in monthly duration in a range of 10% to 40%. The
unemployment varies directly with separation rate and varies indirectly with the rate of searching for a
job. For a long time, labor market students have believed that the time of acute rise in unemployment
or recession were due to increased rates of separation from jobs and decreased rates of finding jobs.
From this perspective, the period of recession starts by the trend of layoffs. The trends of layoffs are
mainly done in industries of durable goods. As labor market gets crowded with those seeking for
employment, the rate of finding jobs decreases and the after unemployment duration rises. In contrary,
recent research and data have disapproved this argument. The new perspective views separations as to
have no contribution to the increased problems of unemployment during the period of recession. The
reason behind increased unemployment during the recession is difficulties in finding jobs, not the
dumping of those

Robust Routers Job Offer Negotiation
In the simulation involving a negotiation over a job offer at Robust Routers, I played the role of the
human resource director; Leigh Bultema, and my partner played the role of Joe Tech; the recent MBA
graduate seeking permanent employment with the technology company. Joe is not in agreement with
the terms of the original offer and would like to negotiate the terms of certain issues within the
bargaining mix. One key issue Joe is negotiating is the relocation to Robust Routers headquarters in
Silicon Valley, California. He would rather remain in Nashville, Tennessee and become a
telecommuter. Other issues within the bargaining mix include the annual salary, signing bonus, and
stock options. In this negotiation, a variety of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since relocation was an important issue, I set my resistance point to $7,000 for the relocation bonus as
a sweetener if needed during the closing process (Lewicki, Barry, Saunders, 2011).
Collaborative Bargaining The negotiation between Joe and Leigh had elements of distributive
bargaining, but their relationship and the outcome of the negotiation were important to both parties,
thus, this negotiation also had collaborative bargaining characteristics (Lewicki, Barry, Saunders,
2010). When using this strategy, the objective is to maximize your outcome on the substantive issues
while enhancing the quality of the relationship with the other party (Lewicki, Barry, Saunders, 2011).
In a job offer negotiation between two familiar parties, it is important to find a mutually satisfying
solution to also enhance business performance.
Settled Upon Agreement An agreement was reached on the negotiation for a job offer at Robust
Routers, and assuming the role of the human resources manager, I was satisfied with the outcome of
the negotiation. The final offer excepted by Joe Tech consisted of the following terms: $95,000 annual
salary to be paid bi weekly, 1,000 stock options plus another 1,000 stock options over the three year
vesting period in addition to the 500 incentive options granted on each employment anniversary,
$5,000 signing bonus, and $5,000 moving expenses. I am satisfied with this agreement because the

The Apalachee Indians
The Apalachee were a group of farming Indians who inhabited Northwest Florida ever since around
one thousand A.D. The Apalachee were concentrated around the present day city of Tallahassee, the
capital of Florida. In this essay, the diet, traditions, family life, clothing, government, architecture and
more about the Apalachee Indians will be explored. A precis of their timeline in the Florida panhandle
will also be examined.
The Apalachee had a diet made up of the things that they grew in their fields, hunted, and gathered.
Women were the gatherers and men were the hunters. The men hunted many animals in the area
including fish, deer, birds, and bears. Women gathered fruits and nuts for their families. As for

Proper Healthy Lifestyles
Proper healthy lifestyles start at the households and begin with parenting. Our leaders of Guam need
to recognize that diabetes is a growing issue on the island. Diabetes leads to strokes and heart attacks,
which are some of the common cause of death on this island. The main problem is that people on the
island of Guam fail to understand the seriousness of diabetes. It is always fun and nice to see a
supposedly overweight child because to the cultural norm it is acceptable in society.
People fail to realize that we are placing a huge burden on innocent lives who somewhat don t have
any control over their eating habits. We must start to treat the patients on Guam rather than the
statistical numbers. The life expectancy is estimated around 76 years, but it used to be longer in the
olden days. The lifestyle as well as the economy has made a major impact on the people of Guam s
health. Parents are not doing their children a favor by practicing poor eating habits and partaking in
smoking and drinking routines. This issue is definitely obvious and the dialysis treatment centers are
continuing to grow. That is one treatment center to be proud of because it just states that the island of
Guam has an underlying problem with health issues. If the community cannot participate and promote
good health the island will not be the same in 10 years.
Diabetic patients will not have a comfortable lifestyle and they will continue to worsen over time. The

In 1688, the Protestant Queen Mary and her husband, William of Orange, took the British throne from
King James II in a bloodless coup. The Glorious Revolution had significant long term effects on

Coast Guard Leadership Philosophy Examples
1. Leadership influences can be placed into two categories, those to model and those to avoid. Every
member in the Coast Guard can categorically place his or her leadership experiences within these
categories. In some cases one particular leader can provide examples from both categories, in some
cases a leader has only those traits and characteristics that should be avoided. Regardless of the case,
junior members, senior members, and peers alike are watching and adapting their leadership style
based on things that they perceive as helpful. I realized that in every instance throughout my career
where I was in troubled waters, I had either isolated myself or surrounded myself by people that have
no vision of moving the organization forward. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As previously stated, my personal leadership philosophy is to be the leader you aspire to be. This
leadership philosophy sets a framework for individuals to model their behavior after those that have
been successful within the organization. Generally speaking, our greatest leaders have attributes and
traits that have directly contributed to their successes. The key here is to understand that if you want to
be a great leader in the organization, then you have to look for, identify, and model those behaviors of
those ahead of you that have become successful. Take for instance a small boat coxswain. The
coxswain is a position of great responsibility. There are good boat drivers and there are great boat
drivers and when making a parallel to this leadership philosophy it makes sense that an up and coming
boat driver will want to model their behavior and performance after a great boat driver; i.e. be the
leader you aspire to be. The same method of mentorship and learning is true when it comes to
leadership. Some leaders possess personality characteristics that naturally allow them to lead people
with ease. These same leaders are made even greater when they incorporate teachable leadership
principles into their leadership styles and techniques. When they utilize these techniques in their day
to day leadership their actions may appear natural to an onlooker, but in fact leadership is a practiced
art and in order to and maintain proficiency within leadership it must be continuously refined. Being a
great leader is more than just watching and mimicking behavior. More important than constant
observation, continually life long learning and application of styles, techniques, and models of
leadership will help propel individuals to the forefront of

Susan B Anthony Women s Rights Movement
For decades, the fight for women s rights has been a constant struggle in a male dominated American
society. During the early 1800s, women s traditional roles included providing for the household, such
as educating and raising their children. At this time, women were not given the right to own property
or vote, and they had very minimal economic independence. However, throughout the Gilded Age and
the Progressive Era, a time of business expansion and social reforms, the women s civil rights
movement had escalated due to the actions of many influential figures and reform groups. One of the

Innovation Through Source Analysis For The Classroom
Innovation through Source Analysis If teachers want to revolutionize the way that history or social
studies is taught in the classroom, they must move away from the idea that history is a series of facts
that need to be taught to students. Instead of simply giving students the answers to historical
questions, teachers must impart the practice of historical inquiry to their students. This ability to think
like a historian allows students to be active participants in all history lessons. Such a revolutionary
transformation is only possible if teachers generate innovative lessons that propagate historical
analysis in the classroom. At the same time, teachers are expected to adhere to the Common Core
standards that require students to be able to read, understand, and utilize complex informational texts
(80). In order to transform history in the classroom and adhere to these Common Core Standards, it is
important that teachers understand the importance of source analysis in lessons, know how to choose
and create age appropriate adapted sources, and successfully incorporate such lessons into larger units
that ensure students learn to think historically. To ensure that students are able to engage in the
practices utilized by historians, teachers must provide students with the proper tools to do so. Since
historical thinking takes practice, students need materials to practice with. Primary sources offer the
perfect opportunity for such practice. In fact, according to

Machiavelli And Warfare
The Prince by Niccolo Machiavelli (1469 1527) is one of the most important surviving texts on
political philosophy to date. In The Prince, Machiavelli provides a guide to ruling, complete with
some of the more unpleasant necessities that come with maintaining power. Though Machiavelli
explores a myriad of ways to achieve political power, one of his biggest focuses is on how to conduct
warfare and its importance to a healthy state. The importance of warfare in Machiavelli is great
because it informs the rest of his reign and the surrounding politics. He himself outlines the
importance of arms by saying that, the chief foundations of all states, whether new, old, or mixed, are
good laws and good arms and that there cannot be good laws where there are not good arms, and
where there are good arms there must be good laws (44). It is based off of this importance of the
military that Machiavelli devotes much of The Prince to the conducting of good war and the
importance of its role in politics and the stability of state. To understand the work of Machiavelli is to
understand law and politics, topics that, for Machiavelli, are founded on military strength.

repercussions for this action are a stronger and more dedicated force. While mercenaries and

Analyse The Streingths and Weaknesses Of The Boston...
In this essay I will look at the strengths and weaknesses of using the Boston Matrix to help make
decisions in business. I will first briefly explain the Boston Matrix and then analyse its effectiveness
as an aid to making a marketing strategy.
Like Ansoff s matrix, the Boston Matrix is a well known tool for marketing managers. It was
developed by the large US consulting group and is a way that a business can compare all of its
products. The two aspects it looks at are market share (relative to that of competitors) and market
growth. To use it you would look at all of your products and sort them into 4 categories, stars
(products with a high market growth and a high market share), cash cows (high market share in a
market with little ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are several advantages and disadvantages of using the Boston Matrix to help make decisions
like this...
Firstly, there is a common assumption that a high market share will automatically mean high
profitability of a product. This isn t always the case, as the costs of development of a product must be
taken into consideration. For example, when Boeing launch a new jet, yes they have a high market
share but they still must cover the extremely high development costs. Although jets are a very
specialised product, it is the same for other more simple products as a large chunk of a companies
resources go on design and research. Also, at the launch of a new product lots of money must be spent
on advertising to ensure that the product does get the market share it wants. The good thing about this
is that if this risk is undertaken, the product may in the future become a cash cow and the companies
will be able to reap the benefits and the product will be able to support new products. Do you see the
cycle that the products follow?, this all links very closely with the product lifecycle. Of course a
company should not just assume that a product will follow this cycle, there is no guarantee that a
product will follow this cycle and a marketing department would be stupid to assume that a product
will. This is another problem with using the Boston Matrix to make decisions (as it is a problem with
all other aspects of marketing), that markets just aren t that predictable.

Joan of Arc and the Siege of Orleans Essay
Between 1428 and 1429 during the Hundred Years War between France and England, the city of
Orleans was besieged by English forces. The 5000 English soldiers lead by Thomas de Montecute,
attacked for months. Around this time, Joan of Arc Appeared in at the court of Charles, and lifted the
siege in 1429. This was the major turning point for the French in the war.
The events leading up to the Siege of Orleans were mainly victories for the English. The French were
attacking land which King Edward III, the king of England, owned in France. He declares himself
King of France, arguing that he can legally claim the French throne through the line of descent via his
mother, Isabella of France. (Kip Wheeler) . King Edward of England was not ... Show more content on

A few years later, Henry V landed in France with ten thousand men and besieged Harfleur, a port town
along the French coast. The siege lasted for a month, and Henry marched into the town, victorious,
with very few men, because most of them died from disease. He then set course for Calais, but was
stopped by French forces in Agincourt. Henry had only about six thousand men and the French force
had twenty thousand. Henry used the woodland to give his forces a better chance. The French, on the
other hand, set up three lines with knights in front. The knights were easily taken down by English
longbowmen, the second line was slowed down by muddy swampland, and the third line retreated.
This was a decisive victory for Henry and his outnumbered army. Henry continued advancing to
Calais. Next, Scottish and French armies join forces and raid English holdings in Normandy. The
English forces were decimated by the combined forces of France and Scotland. Soon after that battle,
The French and Scottish tried once more to remove English control of Normandy, but their forces
were easily cut down by longbowmen. Scotland stopped aiding France in the war, and England kept
their hold in Normandy. The English started to take control of most of France again, started winning
more battles. The balance of power changed in 1429, with the appearance of Joan of Arc,

It is defined as an Abnormality of mind . Abnormality of mind can arise from three areas, a condition
of arrested or retarded development of mind, any inherent causes or induced by disease or injury . In
this case it could be argued that Steve was suffering from paranoia in the he instantly accuses Jane of
having an affair or depression as he was placed on medication by his doctor. These are both inherent
causes, Anthony Martin. It could also be argued that the defendant was provoked. Provocation exists
at common law but is also contained under section three of the Homicide Act 1957. To establish
provocation the jury must be able to find the person charged was provoked by things said or done or to
a sudden loss of self control enough to make a reasonable man do as he did. In this case the things said
or done were Jane laughing and taunting the defendant, also the fact that she said it would serve him
right if she had an affair as he was the most boring man she d ever known. This may be considered as
cumulative provocation which the jury may consider Humphreys 1995. The test for loss of self control
stems from Duffy, there was a sudden loss of self control as Steve immediately flew into a rage and it
was sudden as there was no cooling off period as in the case of Ibrams and Gregory. The case of DPP
v Camplin stated that the question is not whether a reasonable man in similar circumstances would be

The Christus St. Joseph Hospital s System
CHRISTUS ST. JOSEPH HOSPITAL SYSTEM Christus health, a Catholic health ministry, will be a
leader, a partner and an advocate in the creation of innovative health and wellness solutions that
improve the lives of individuals and communities so that all may experience God s healing presence
and love. This is the mission of Christus St. Joseph Hospital. The Christus health is unique. We unite
fundamentals of Christianity, hospitality and health care with a foundation of the management and
staffing nuts and bolts essential to support our facilities and residences. It is a fact that our
environment is progressively more competitive. It is also a fact that funding sources and financing are
intricate and unpredictable. Financing for organizations is limited, so new programs and structural
modifications to augment operations and stay competitive are restricted. Additionally, we serve a
population, in quest of different stages of health care, and the very consumers that we seek out to serve
are finding it more and harder to pay for the level of care that they need. So, how can an organization
meet cutthroat pressures, progress access for our residents and their families, and keep the staff
working efficiently with smaller number of resources? The answer to this dilemma is Strategic
Planning. Since a person has to deal with different people in any work, it is imperative that they have a
vast knowledge on personality in order to read the behavior of another person. Personality

This Boy S Life Practice Essay
6. It is Jack s lack of a stable, male role model that is to blame for his actions. To what extent do you
agree?
Tobias Wolff s memoir, This Boy s Life , explores the idea that an individual s actions can be altered
due to the people they are exposed to. The protagonist Jack Wolff lives an impressionable life where
he undergoes somewhat of a dilemma in relations to his actions, being incapable of changing for the
greater good of himself. The absence of a proper male role model plays a large role on Jack s actions,
though is definitely not the only reason. Jack s actions are influenced by Rosemary s abusive and
power craving ex husband Roy, as well as Dwight s violent and arrogant personality. However, Jack is
also responsible for his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Following this quote, Wolff uses an author intrusion when he brings forward the fact that over time the
innocence [he] laughed at began to irritate [him]. Wolff s intrusion brings to light the foolishness of
his actions which he had caught from a lousy role model. Wolff presents the idea that Power can be
enjoyed only when it is recognized and feared , and that power can make an individual undertake
actions they normally wouldn t. Jack s association with an abusive man such as Roy shows that Jack
has been influenced by Roy s unjust habits, and that he is to blame in terms of the actions that Jack
chooses to undertake.
INCOMPLETE: Similarly, Dwight s abusive and violent traits have an impact on Jack, and the actions
that he undertakes. Chameleon like identity
On the contrary, Jack chooses how to act regardless of his role models, meaning that he can be held
accountable for his own actions. From the beginning of the memoir Jack is depicted as an immature
child whose dream it was to transform into someone different. Jack s dreams of transformation get
further and further from reality predominantly due to how he decides to act and the people he chooses
to spend his time with. Jack is responsible for his own actions as he is the one who actually decides
how he acts. A moment in the memoire where Jack s delinquency is depicted is when Jack states that
[he] was a thief.

Mc Escher Tessellation Essay
A tessellation is a pattern put together by identical shapes that fit together perfectly with no gaps or
overlaps. M.C. Escher is the man who created the idea of tessellations, who is a Dutch graphic design
artist. He had a very tough early life since he suffered from very common skin infections, which in
turn caused him to do very poor in his core curriculum. Although he was very bad in his main
subjects, he excelled in his music and art classes. As an artist, M.C. Escher began by drawing
landscapes primarily of nature. After a few years of this, he decided to go in a different variety of art
by using the dimensional planes to his advantage to create illusions and trick the eye. He would sketch
landscapes of Italy from very unique perspectives that alter reality, later he would sketch artwork from
his mind rather than looking at nature. His form of artwork is commonly referred to as impossible

drawing, there is a tessellation drawn on the table, made up of lizards. Then, the lizards appear to be
coming out of the drawing and wrap around back into the tessellation. This tessellation is made up of
many geometric shapes; such as many circles, squares and triangles, but the main geometric figures
used to create this tessellation are thousands of dots and lines. This drawing is a mezzotint which is
made by hatching, layering lines and dots. The mathematics behind this certain tessellation can get
pretty complicated. Escher s work mainly involves the mathematics of the geometry of space and
planes. In this tessellation, it is evident how the planes change as the lizards go into the tessellation
and leave. Lizards would be classified as an irregular tessellation, something that Escher was very
interested in, where the tessellation interacts and often leaves the

Essay The White Man s Burden and The Recessional
The White Man s Burden and The Recessional
In The White Man s Burden and in The Recessional , Kipling outlines his idealistic concept of empire
which is based on service and sacrifice.
England sends some of their best man to defend and help India. The white man has the mission to
civilize the Indians. It is their responsibility to culture them, to put them on the right path. They are
there to make India a better place to live and bring the population up to date on the style of living.
This journey will be hard, and a lot of sacrifice will have to be made from the Englishman. It will be
difficult to be far away from their home land and their family. A lot of hard work will be needed to
reach the final goal, to have a civilize and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Englishman is doing all of this for the native of the country, all for their good. The Indians won t
understand what the white man is doing for them; they will see the white man as a threat. The English
man will receive no gratitude or respect from the native.
The white man has to remember that they are not there to control the Indians or to take over the
country but they are their help them, to bring a better life to them. They will have to sacrifice a lot to
obtain what they want for the other culture. A lot of time and effort will have to be put in the mission.
A lot of sweat and blood will be lost during the journey but it will be all worth it. The British can not
let the power go to their heads; they are there to serve the native, to help them out, to bring them
closer to God.
I find that Kipling embellish a lot on the role/responsibility/mission of the man white. He made the
British look very good, even superior and made he native looks naives and helpless. The Indians are
seen as half devil and half child said word per word in the White Man s Burden . Kipling is making
the white man look better then he actually is. The British might actually though they where there to
help the natives out but in the end they used the Indians for their good, even though this is not said or
mention in the poems.
If people would think or act the way the British did back then I do not

Compare And Contrast Italian And Renaissance Art
Anna Jacoby
AP European History
Ms. Sennett
September 2017
Italian vs. Northern Renaissance Art During the Renaissance, the people of Europe experienced a
rebirth of culture and study of classical antiquity. New ideas arose that transformed every aspect of
European life. Beginning in Italy, the Renaissance spread northward to the rest of Europe. Italy had
the advantage of not being hit by the Black Death or the Hundred Years War, in comparison to the rest
of Europe, and therefore was able to trade to Asia and maintain prosperous cities during the Middle
Ages. The Italians, as a result, had merchants who were proud of their success in business, which they
believed was possible because of their merit as an individual. The merchants were able to fuel the
Renaissance in Italy by commissioning artists and writers to produce specific works. Northern Europe
still needed to recover from the Black Death and Hundred Years War to gain political and economic
stability to have a Renaissance. While both the Italians and Northern Europeans went through a
Renaissance, they experienced the Renaissance differently, and the similarities and differences
between their experiences in terms of how they each developed the ideals of humanism,
individualism, and secularism is evident in Renaissance artists works, specifically Michelangelo s
David and van Eyck s The Madonna of Chancellor Rolin. Humanists of the Italian Renaissance
worked to understand human nature by studying classic

Let The Right One Is A Stage Adaptation By Jack Thorne
On October 1, 2016, I attended a production of Let the Right One In at The University of Oklahoma in
the Weiztenhoffer Theater. Let the Right One in is a stage adaptation by Jack Thorne based on the
Swedish novel Marla Rubin Productions Ltd. and it was directed by Tom Huston Orr as a fall main
stage production for the university (University Theatre Program). Let the Right One In was
captivating and occupied the space with great power. Immediately once the show began, I noticed the
forwarding aspect of the overlapping scenes to help bring momentum to the production. The specific
reference I am making is to the introduction of the character Oskar, who was played by Sam Pinson,
coupled with Hakan s first murder. Hakan was played by Weston Vrooman and his first victim in the
production is Torkel who was portrayed by Austin Reid. The overlapping of their two scenes set up a
fast pace that added to some of the suspense the show itself calls for in its mood. I really enjoyed this
directing choice to have the bar placed for high energy and pace right as the show began. Another
aspect that I thought worked well for this production was the casting choice of Sam Pinson for Oskar.
The reason I mention this is because Sam is not what I would expect in the casting of a young teenage
boy. He is tall and not the typical type for that role. I had been skeptical of this decision because of
how Sam is not visibly close to a child in the least, but Sam portrayed the role in a way that was

TO WHAT EXTENT WAS THERE A MID TUDOR CRISIS DURING THE REIGNS OF EDWARD
VI AND MARY I? The mid Tudor crisis is a term often used by historians to describe the reigns of
Edward VI (1547 1553) and Mary I (1553 1558). This period can be seen as a crisis, due to the fact
that there were so many problems financially, socially, religiously and constitutionally, which led to
rebellions, and placed the country in a very unstable position. It is clear that many of the origins of this
crisis have their roots in the reign of Henry VIII. He left a very difficult legacy to his successors, but it
must be remembered that Somerset provoked the problems already in existence and Northumberland
and Mary I then had the difficult task of resolving them. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Northumberland also established the Privy Coffer to provide contingency funds. Mary herself
reformed the customs and introduced the book of rates in 1558. There was also, as Guy perceives a
shift towards national finance . Although the period 1552 8 is still described as a crisis, it must be
remembered that there were some productive reforms and that the situation did not decline. Historians
such as Pollard who see government as sterile, impotent and unproductive at this time do not seem to
have taken into account these positive financial developments. It is evident that Henry was at the root
of the financial problems and that Somerset exacerbated them. However the positive achievements of
Northumberland and Mary must not be forgotten. Somerset lacked charm and made enemies easily.
His arrogance and pride created resentment. He was a weak administrator who refused to listen to the
experts. The crisis came for Somerset, in 1559 when he failed to deal decisively with rebellions in the
west and in Norfolk (which had been partly caused by his own policies). As Dale Hoak points out his
colleagues decided to get rid of him at this point not because he supported the poor but because he was
incompetent . When Northumberland came into power, even though his reforms were far more
extreme, with no possibility of alternative

A Clinical Syndrome
Introduction
Sepsis is a clinical syndrome that arises from inflammatory response to infection. The response from
the host is associated with immune, hormonal, metabolic, bioenergetic and autonomic nervous system
modification. This is associated with an overall catabolic state, excessive adrenergic stimulation, high
catecholamine levels and myocardial depression. This effects are mainly mediated via
cathecholaminergic action and cytokine production (1). β blockers modulate both these pathways.
There are several studies that have shown the benefits of β blockers in sepsis. Animal studies have
shown benefits of β blockers (2,3,4,5). To date there is no published systematic review on the effect of
β blockers in sepsis. We sought to summarize ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Embase from 1947. Bibliographies of all selected articles were searched. We also searched the grey
literature via the medical university database. Additional search was done on clinical trial database (7).
Study selection and Data Extraction
Two investigators (CJC SG) and the medical librarian (SP) independently reviewed the identified
abstracts. All potential relevant studies were obtained and critically appraised. We used the following
inclusion criteria 1) diagnosed sepsis or septic shock 2) on β blockers or treated with β blockers during
their ICU admission 3) adult population (age 18 or older). Exclusion criteria were 1) paediatric patient
s 2) animal studies 3) non septic patients. The eligible studies were heterogeneous and therefore did
not permit statistical pooling.
Data Extraction
We (CJC SG) independently reviewed the finalised articles to extract information on the following
characteristic. Year of publication, sample size, study population, heart rate control, mortality rate,
adverse incidence change in metabolic parameters with administration of β blockers. Individual
authors were contacted to clarify overlapping of patients between studies. Authors were also contacted

  • 2. Wi Fi For Education And Information Systems Wi Fi for Education and Information Systems in Indian Rural Communities Throughout developing nations, access to Wi Fi is limited to none. There are huge advantages to having access to the Internet in various ways. An extremely important advantage to Wi Fi availability is so one can access the Internet for information to educate their selves. The Internet is filled with information right at ones fingertips that can be accessed at any time. Some countries such as India have numerous rural communities that cannot access this information. Lack of Internet access in today s world can prove to be detrimental to one s life. People who live in these communities throughout the world that do not have access to Wi Fi are often less educated and at ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is where the MDG Wi Fi for Education comes into play. Wi Fi for Education is a MDG discussed in the book Designing A World That Works For All by Medard Gabel. This MDG discuss the strategy to provide those living in the developing world with Internet access via affordable Wi Fi so that education related material could be provided to them as it is to many throughout the world. According to the book, Its goals include providing Internet access (email plus phone service) to 4 billion people, living in the developing world, for $1/month and to use the Internet as a medium for education... This is an important factor because people living in these rural communities would not be able to afford Wi Fi when offered if it was not at an affordable rate. This is because most people living in these communities live a life of poverty and simply cannot afford to pay substantial amounts for Internet access. There also seems to be a few choices in setting up a Wi Fi infrastructure in developing nations, including a solar powered communications station. Costs range from $500 per village to $1000 per village to set up a Wi Fi infrastructure, to $2000 for a village wide solar powered communications station. These numbers may seem to be quite affordable, but one must understand how many rural villages in India have a need for this infrastructure. Prices can total up $638 million in order to ... • 3. Pawley s Island Research Paper If you were forced to pick your paradise, where do you think your thoughts would take you? Would you go to the quaint wooden cabin in Michigan that has been in the family for years? Or would you think of your cozy apartment a top a skyscraper in your favorite concrete jungle? Without a second thought, my mind rushes to Pawley s Island, South Carolina. As locals describe it best, the elegantly shabby beachside town 40 minutes from Charleston has been my chosen vacation spot since childhood. Between the hammock shops, crabbing in the creeks and ghost stories, there is always something to entertain you on the island. With only the best memories there, never did I think that there would be something to hold me back from indulging in the lazy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... My serenity swam away with the drifting jellyfish that left nothing but pain. How could this happen to me in the most harmonious place in the world? I had spent countless hours jumping and swimming in the water with the sand encompassing my toes. Never did a thought of worry flip through my mind. Now I never wanted let my toes indulge in the warmth of the sand or let my piecey hair fall across my tanned back. I was brought out of my painful daze while looking down at my dad pouring vinegar and rubbing a credit card repeatedly over the sting. Not knowing what to expect I looked down to see that my shin had puffed up multiple inches and turned a purple color. I was escorted upstairs to the condominium and had strict instructions to stay on the couch in front of the sliding glass doors. I peered out to see the dark, eerie water filled with many unknowns. No longer was it a sight of beauty, it had turned into an ominous view that was filled with gloomy and painful memories. My eyelids slid shut as I tried to escape my once paradise, and now nightmare. Sitting on the beach 3 years later, I let my pale skin burn to a crisp in hope to bring home a tan that my friends will be envious of. A drip of sweat fell down my cheek and I peered out to the massive waves crashing onto the gentle sand. The overcast clouds reflected a gloomy reflection down onto the waves. I watched as the tide pulled on the sand in different directions. The sand, not being able to resist ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Network Security And The Network Abstract Network security is a broad term used to refer to processes and procedures that are configured by a company s network administrator to provide visibility and prevent denial of service, unauthorized access, modification and exploitation of the corporate network or respective resources. The resources refer to files or computer programs available on the corporate network infrastructure. The infrastructure comprise of corporate software and hardware resources that facilitate communication, connectivity, management and operations within the corporate network. The network security manager can equally use intrusion detection systems and anti virus software to prevent unauthorized access and blocking harmful viruses and malware from entering a network respectively. This paper however, does not focus on these approaches but primarily focuses on how firewalls enhance network security. A firewall is a security technology designed to avoid unauthorized access to or from a private network. Firewalls can be placed in both hardware and software, or can also be placed in both hardware and software. Firewalls are usually used to prevent unauthorized access on a network. All messages entering or leaving the network go through a firewall, the firewall analyses all the messages and then blocks the messages that do not meet the security standards. The administrator sets the security standards which packets need to meet, he/she will decide which packet is suitable to pass through the firewall. (Webopedia.com, 2017), (Services, 2017). Once an administrator has set up a policy, it then needs to be tested to determine if the firewall has been correctly implemented. Introduction Network security has become a major concern in the computing industry, including organizations, personal users and the military. The reason for this is due to the large number of security threats that occur on a daily basis. The internet architecture itself allows many threats to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Procedure Of Company Incorporation Of A Company PROCEDURE OF COMPANY INCORPORATION The company incorporation is carried out in following two steps: Step 1 Name approval Submission of application for name availability An application is required to be submitted online in Form No. 1A to RoC to ascertain the availability of the name along with filing fee of Rs. 500. The application should mention at least four names upto a maximum of six 6 names, in order of preference. It is at the discretion of the RoC which of these four they choose to allot. It may be noted that the RoC usually insists that the name of any Indian company should be reflective of the main activities carried on by it. The significance and use of the word (Brand name) should be justified. Board resolution should be passed by the promoter companies considering following matters:  incorporation of a company in India.  allowing the usage of Brand name in the name of Indian company (this will be required to be stated in the board resolution of the promoter company whose name is proposed to be used in the Indian company).  authorization of an individual (representative of Promoter Company) to:  sign all documents and to do all acts necessary for the incorporation;  for subscribing to the Memorandum and Articles of Association of the proposed Indian Company; and  sign and execute a Power of Attorney for on behalf of the company. These Africans were from the same continent but they had their own identities, languages, and beliefs. The Europeans captured and enslaved these Africans from different countries in Africa so they weren t able to communicate with each other and possibly rebel. • 7. Talent Attrition and Retention Efforts in Maersk 1.0 Introduction In today s highly competitive environment, the biggest challenge that most successful businesses face is to arrest attrition and retain talent. What is more, people s ambitions are fast changing and concepts like loyalty do not seem relevant anymore. Tried and tested methods are fast losing their effectiveness as talented employees become immune to such formula driven approaches. Money is important but not adequate to solve the problem. That your attrition rates are comparable to industry is no consolation. Companies are losing highly talented people, walking away with accumulated knowledge and experience that is not easily replicable. As much a gain the diversity brings on the table, the elements of managing the expectation becomes a greater test to preserve harmonious relationship while acknowledging the need for difference in anticipation of ideas thrown across. Lack of proper motivation and being a victim of different sets of expectations, kills off the burning desire to excel and may drag to eventual departure of a talent from the organization. Imagine a young Japanese manager (product of talent pool) being tasked to perform at an Indian office, where the culturally varied working ethics at the latter organization hinder the bonding and performance of the young Japanese manager. The different sets of approach from the local offices complicate the young manager s drive to succeed. The Indian office fails to harness the benefits of the Japanese working ethics, rather prefer to broadcast the differences for its own bragging rights. For this assignment, I have collected data from year 2000 to 2004 (myself being a M.I.S.E. graduate from the batch of 2004) to present the empirical statistics of talent attrition in Maersk globally. In an effort to ensure that businesses do not attempt to merge with an intention to deceit, the Federal Trade Commission was established. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) defined as an independent federal agency whose main goals are to protect consumers and to ensure a strong competitive market by enforcing a variety of consumer protection and antitrust laws (Investopedia, 2015). According to ftc.gov, it protects the consumer by stopping unfair, deceptive or fraudulent practices in the marketplace. We conduct investigations, sue companies and people that violate the law, develop rules to ensure a vibrant marketplace, and educate consumers and businesses about their rights and responsibilities. We collect complaints about hundreds of issues from data security and deceptive advertising to identity theft and Do Not Call violations, and make them available to law enforcement agencies worldwide for follow up. Our experienced and motivated staff uses 21st century tools to anticipate and respond to changes in the marketplace (FTC, 2015). Competition in America is about price, selection, and service. It benefits consumers by keeping prices low and the quality and choice of goods and services high. By enforcing antitrust laws, the FTC helps ensure that our markets are open and free. • 9. Viva La Vida And The Count Of Monte Cristo While each piece of literature is completely different, some of them have similar patterns and ideas. One of these ideas would be human nature. Human nature is anything that is natural for a human to do and can not be stopped easily. Things like greed and too much power can change someone greatly. This can be the cause of many problems and can make someone who is a good person into a bad person. In Viva La Vida and The Count of Monte Cristo, the writers use of allusions and metaphors convey the idea that human nature can be the cause of misfortune. The story of Viva La Vida, by Coldplay, is about a king who has too much power and ends up being overthrown from people in his kingdom. Coldplay expresses this story in metaphors. I used ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This king had the key to the castle, meaning that he knew what the people wanted. The way Coldplay explains this story makes it seem like the people living in the king s castle turned on him, hence the reference to the walls closing in on himself. This king must have been hated for something he did, then again, every human makes mistakes. Although, this must not have been the first time because he lost his whole castle just from a mistake. Then he starts to realize why he was wrong. The downfall of this king could have been from bragging about his power too much since it is human nature to brag. Or possibly being overwhelmed with too much power giving his enemies a chance to attack. Another metaphor with the same meaning can be found in The Count of Monte Cristo. The same thing that happened to Brutus the night before the Battle of Philippi: I saw a ghost. And that ghost told me I have lived long enough (Dumas 381). At this moment in the story, the count is preparing for his duel with Albert. He then tells Maximilien that he plans on dying during the duel and leaving Maximilien his will. Maximilien is shocked and asks the count why he would ever do such a thing. The count responds with the above quote. This quote is a metaphor and shows how it is in a human s nature to want to forget the people who you don t like. This quote uses the example of Mercedes since she was the ghost that came to Dantes the night before the duel and begged him not to kill her son. Dantes responds by saying that he can not live with the dishonor of backing away from a duel, so he agreed to let Albert ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Literary Analysis Of Faith And Roses Faith and Roses Love can be a strange and wonderful thing. Some will have their first kiss at the end of elementary school, and some will only start dating once their adults. Some can fall for a childhood friend they knew all their life, and some will be awe struck by a stranger passing by. Some will marry their high school sweet heart, while some others settle down much later in life. To say love is complicated is an understatement, and trying to understand it can by quite puzzling. Luckily, there are always people who have firsthand experience willing to share a snippet of their wisdom. Both Robert Herrick and Barbara Greenberg try to caution naĂŻve virgins about love in To the Virgins, to Make Much of Time and The Faithful Wife respectfully. While one poem incites young people to make the most of their freedom, the other warns of the dangers of marrying too quickly. Both works use a number of various techniques and also share a few in common. Other than sharing the general theme of love, both poems take it upon themselves to advise young lovers of risks they taking by marrying early. Even though the poems have an overall similar message, they deliver it in completely different ways. To the Virgins, to Make Much of Time strongly suggests the virgins have fun and explore while they are still capable. Herrick explicitly stats so with his opening verse: Gather ye rose buds while ye may, In this case the rose buds are opportunities ripe for picking, however one must be inclined to act fast because they will not stay that way forever. The author encourages the virgins to pick the rose buds, in this case the opportunities, while they can, before old age prevents them from doing so. Not only that, but Herrick dedicates a whole two strophes, half the poem, to the passing of time. By doing so, the author greatly emphasises how quick time can go by, and a person s youth with it. On the other hand, The Faithful Wife is a poem solely based on the question What of? The speaker in the poem begins said poem with a completely hypothetical statement: If she were to have a lover. This immediately implies that the speaker is in a rather rocky marriage. As she goes on and adds more and more detail to her ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Few people understand that getting to where I am hasn t been easy. I have to admit that I m disappointed with some of today s youth. Most of us want to get high paying jobs that don t require tedious work. They want to forget college, to forget the future. They don t care about the outcomes of their doings. We were aiming for the fifth win in a row. We came across a lot of speed bumps on the road to winning. I could only pray that God would have pity on us. Our routine was amazingly choreographed, and I knew that if we pulled it off perfectly, we would have no problems. Surely, I thought, God would bless us for a fifth time. Unfortunately, two days before the competition, a teammate of mine got injured during one of our practices. At first, we all thought it was a sprain, but it turned out that she had fractured her ankle. It was the same day of prom, so most of us were blissfully unaware of what had happened. The next day, however, we found out what really happened. I was crushed. I cried for hours, just worrying and praying to God. What would we do? We couldn t back out, we were the defending champions. I just prayed that God would help us find a way through this; that God would take care of us. The day of the competition, we had no choice but to alter the routine completely. We had to change the stunts, the blocking, and the skills. We also had to clean it up as soon as possible. We arrived at the Manila Coliseum prepared, but not completely sure of what we were to do. Locking mechanism in DDBS is similar to that in RDBS, but it is more complex because of data distribution and transaction concurrence in distributed database system. state that the Lock table and Two stage Locking convention (2PL) are utilized as a part of Relation Database Management System (RDBMS) with multi granularity convention for accessing operation of lock scheduler. The lock table correspondence describes each element that s locked in the lock table. There are 3 locking models for RDBMS namely DB2,Oracle,Sql server 2005. An exclusive lock allows only one user/connection to update a particular piece of data (insert, update, and delete). When one user has an exclusive lock on a row or table, no other lock of any type may be placed on it. If they weren t they inevitably went through a great deal of pain whether it be from the abuse or watching all of their loved ones die. The Holocaust was intolerably devastating for many, tight quarters in all ghettos, and gruesome experiments on twins caused extreme pain for over 3,000 twins (thoughtco.com). The plumbing was horrific, there was garbage everywhere especially in the streets, as well as human defecation. These conditions, as well as tight quarters made the ghettos a breeding ground for numerous diseases. Once the diseases started spreading there was no good way to stop it because the immune systems of many were compromised, as a result of the almost nonexistent rations of food they were provided. The media defines cultural and gender norms that are often very stereotypical. The cultivation theory suggests that exposure to stereotypes in the media can lead to adopting these beliefs in their real lives (Giaccardi et al., 2016). • 21. Unemployment On The Us Economy Essay Name: Instructor: Subject: Date: Unemployment in US economy The unemployment turnover view has a strong base on the contemporary thinking about unemployment in the entire United States. Joblessness or unemployment takes place when an individual searches for another new job and devotes most of time searching for another job. Moreover, unemployment comes into being if an individual goes in search of a new employment after being out of labor force for a long time. The individuals in search of employment get employed in monthly duration in a range of 10% to 40%. The unemployment varies directly with separation rate and varies indirectly with the rate of searching for a job. For a long time, labor market students have believed that the time of acute rise in unemployment or recession were due to increased rates of separation from jobs and decreased rates of finding jobs. From this perspective, the period of recession starts by the trend of layoffs. The trends of layoffs are mainly done in industries of durable goods. As labor market gets crowded with those seeking for employment, the rate of finding jobs decreases and the after unemployment duration rises. In contrary, recent research and data have disapproved this argument. The new perspective views separations as to have no contribution to the increased problems of unemployment during the period of recession. The reason behind increased unemployment during the recession is difficulties in finding jobs, not the dumping of those ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As previously stated, my personal leadership philosophy is to be the leader you aspire to be. This leadership philosophy sets a framework for individuals to model their behavior after those that have been successful within the organization. Generally speaking, our greatest leaders have attributes and traits that have directly contributed to their successes. The key here is to understand that if you want to be a great leader in the organization, then you have to look for, identify, and model those behaviors of those ahead of you that have become successful. Take for instance a small boat coxswain. The coxswain is a position of great responsibility. There are good boat drivers and there are great boat drivers and when making a parallel to this leadership philosophy it makes sense that an up and coming boat driver will want to model their behavior and performance after a great boat driver; i.e. be the leader you aspire to be. The same method of mentorship and learning is true when it comes to leadership. Some leaders possess personality characteristics that naturally allow them to lead people with ease. These same leaders are made even greater when they incorporate teachable leadership principles into their leadership styles and techniques. When they utilize these techniques in their day to day leadership their actions may appear natural to an onlooker, but in fact leadership is a practiced art and in order to and maintain proficiency within leadership it must be continuously refined. • 33. Innovation Through Source Analysis For The Classroom Innovation through Source Analysis If teachers want to revolutionize the way that history or social studies is taught in the classroom, they must move away from the idea that history is a series of facts that need to be taught to students. Instead of simply giving students the answers to historical questions, teachers must impart the practice of historical inquiry to their students. This ability to think like a historian allows students to be active participants in all history lessons. Such a revolutionary transformation is only possible if teachers generate innovative lessons that propagate historical analysis in the classroom. At the same time, teachers are expected to adhere to the Common Core standards that require students to be able to read, understand, and utilize complex informational texts (80). In order to transform history in the classroom and adhere to these Common Core Standards, it is important that teachers understand the importance of source analysis in lessons, know how to choose and create age appropriate adapted sources, and successfully incorporate such lessons into larger units that ensure students learn to think historically. To ensure that students are able to engage in the practices utilized by historians, teachers must provide students with the proper tools to do so. Since historical thinking takes practice, students need materials to practice with. Primary sources offer the perfect opportunity for such practice. In fact, according to ... • 36. Machiavelli And Warfare The Prince by Niccolo Machiavelli (1469 1527) is one of the most important surviving texts on political philosophy to date. In The Prince, Machiavelli provides a guide to ruling, complete with some of the more unpleasant necessities that come with maintaining power. Though Machiavelli explores a myriad of ways to achieve political power, one of his biggest focuses is on how to conduct warfare and its importance to a healthy state. The importance of warfare in Machiavelli is great because it informs the rest of his reign and the surrounding politics. He himself outlines the importance of arms by saying that, the chief foundations of all states, whether new, old, or mixed, are good laws and good arms and that there cannot be good laws where there are not good arms, and where there are good arms there must be good laws (44). It is based off of this importance of the military that Machiavelli devotes much of The Prince to the conducting of good war and the importance of its role in politics and the stability of state. • 37. Analyse The Streingths and Weaknesses Of The Boston... In this essay I will look at the strengths and weaknesses of using the Boston Matrix to help make decisions in business. I will first briefly explain the Boston Matrix and then analyse its effectiveness as an aid to making a marketing strategy. Like Ansoff s matrix, the Boston Matrix is a well known tool for marketing managers. It was developed by the large US consulting group and is a way that a business can compare all of its products. The two aspects it looks at are market share (relative to that of competitors) and market growth. To use it you would look at all of your products and sort them into 4 categories, stars (products with a high market growth and a high market share), cash cows (high market share in a market with little ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are several advantages and disadvantages of using the Boston Matrix to help make decisions like this... Firstly, there is a common assumption that a high market share will automatically mean high profitability of a product. This isn t always the case, as the costs of development of a product must be taken into consideration. For example, when Boeing launch a new jet, yes they have a high market share but they still must cover the extremely high development costs. Although jets are a very specialised product, it is the same for other more simple products as a large chunk of a companies resources go on design and research. Also, at the launch of a new product lots of money must be spent on advertising to ensure that the product does get the market share it wants. The good thing about this is that if this risk is undertaken, the product may in the future become a cash cow and the companies will be able to reap the benefits and the product will be able to support new products. Do you see the cycle that the products follow?, this all links very closely with the product lifecycle. Of course a company should not just assume that a product will follow this cycle, there is no guarantee that a product will follow this cycle and a marketing department would be stupid to assume that a product will. This is another problem with using the Boston Matrix to make decisions (as it is a problem with all other aspects of marketing), that markets just aren t that predictable. ... Compare And Contrast Italian And Renaissance Art Anna Jacoby AP European History Ms. Sennett September 2017 Italian vs. Northern Renaissance Art During the Renaissance, the people of Europe experienced a rebirth of culture and study of classical antiquity. New ideas arose that transformed every aspect of European life. Beginning in Italy, the Renaissance spread northward to the rest of Europe. Italy had the advantage of not being hit by the Black Death or the Hundred Years War, in comparison to the rest of Europe, and therefore was able to trade to Asia and maintain prosperous cities during the Middle Ages. The Italians, as a result, had merchants who were proud of their success in business, which they believed was possible because of their merit as an individual. The merchants were able to fuel the Renaissance in Italy by commissioning artists and writers to produce specific works. Northern Europe still needed to recover from the Black Death and Hundred Years War to gain political and economic stability to have a Renaissance. While both the Italians and Northern Europeans went through a Renaissance, they experienced the Renaissance differently, and the similarities and differences between their experiences in terms of how they each developed the ideals of humanism, individualism, and secularism is evident in Renaissance artists works, specifically Michelangelo s David and van Eyck s The Madonna of Chancellor Rolin. The mid Tudor crisis is a term often used by historians to describe the reigns of Edward VI (1547 1553) and Mary I (1553 1558). This period can be seen as a crisis, due to the fact that there were so many problems financially, socially, religiously and constitutionally, which led to rebellions, and placed the country in a very unstable position. It is clear that many of the origins of this crisis have their roots in the reign of Henry VIII. He left a very difficult legacy to his successors, but it must be remembered that Somerset provoked the problems already in existence and Northumberland and Mary I then had the difficult task of resolving them. ... Historians such as Pollard who see government as sterile, impotent and unproductive at this time do not seem to have taken into account these positive financial developments. It is evident that Henry was at the root of the financial problems and that Somerset exacerbated them. However the positive achievements of Northumberland and Mary must not be forgotten. Somerset lacked charm and made enemies easily. His arrogance and pride created resentment. He was a weak administrator who refused to listen to the experts. Study selection and Data Extraction Two investigators (CJC SG) and the medical librarian (SP) independently reviewed the identified abstracts. All potential relevant studies were obtained and critically appraised. We used the following inclusion criteria 1) diagnosed sepsis or septic shock 2) on β blockers or treated with β blockers during their ICU admission 3) adult population (age 18 or older). Exclusion criteria were 1) paediatric patient s 2) animal studies 3) non septic patients. The eligible studies were heterogeneous and therefore did not permit statistical pooling. Data Extraction We (CJC SG) independently reviewed the finalised articles to extract information on the following characteristic. Year of publication, sample size, study population, heart rate control, mortality rate, adverse incidence change in metabolic parameters with administration of β blockers. Individual authors were contacted to clarify overlapping of patients between studies. Authors were also contacted for data on subgroup analysis. Study selection Our electronic database search identified 1242 studies for initial abstract review. Abstract were reviewed by ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
