Walkalong Collides
Did you know that walkalong gliders can stay in the air as long as you want? This happens because of
wind constantly pushing wind against the glider, therefore keeping the glider in the air. According to
recent experience with gliders, the hypothesis is going to be which glider is faster, and which one
stays up longer, and if the hypothesis is correct then the seagull glider will be the best. If the
conditions are not perfect, then this will affect the project majorly. To understand more about
walkalong gliders you must know the science behind gliders, the condition the paper must be in, and
also possible weather that will affect the project. Do you know what it takes to make walkalong
gliders fly? Walkalong gliders are very fun to use, and one of the things walkalong gliders need, is
aerodynamics, Aerodynamics is the properties of a solid object the manner in which air flows around
it, but the good thing about aerodynamics, is that it substitutes for engines Aerodynamics is for those
who cannot manufacture good engines (Enzo Ferrari). Another thing that walkalong gliders need to fly
is wind resistance, and wind resistance is where the airplane is able to fly without being affected by
wind. Another thing that you NEED for a walkalong glider is a cardboard surface, and it forces ...

What you need for a walkalong glider is certain paper and that paper must be in a certain condition.
One of the paper, is common tissue paper, and this is the best paper to use if you are using your plane
inside. Another paper, that is not commonly used is normal printer paper, and if it is used it is used
outside. The quality of the paper has to be as close to perfect paper as possible, and if it is not it may
affect how the plane flies. The paper you use shouldn t have holes, rips, and should not be crumpled.
If the plane is a good one, then it will have the right to be called ....a perfect paper airplane (Ellen

The Cultural Structuring Of Mealtime Socialization

Shattered Socialization
The ways of the past are becoming more and more obsolete as the years go by, because our society is
rewriting how we should live our lives on a daily basis. With this world constantly changing we have
shattered our socialization for the worst when nit comes to communication with other people on a
daily basis. Mealtimes have become scares, because everyone wants to do their own thing, get done
quick for the day light is fleeting fast, and most importantly no one has anything to talk about when
they come home. According to Elinor and Shohet in their article The Cultural Structuring Of Mealtime
Socialization expresses the issue of mealtime socializing. They state the mealtimes are more of a
tradition passed down from generation to generation and then becomes a symbol with in a home.
(Elinor and Shohet, 36) With them implying that parents actually have to take effort in passing this
tradition down to their children and so forth has become a dying art form, because of the lack of
parenting and teaching. According to Mona and Benga their article The Relationship Between Cultural
Model, Socialization Goals And Parental Ethnotheories: A Mixed Method Study Brings up a lot of
good points about how children learn from their parents. There are three main key factors that help out
with these socialization issues passed on to each generation. They are, Parental Cultural Models,

Haille Selassie Haile Selassie was an emperor of Ethiopia whose influence as an African leader far
surpassed the boundaries of his country. Although his popularity declined near the end of his sixty
year reign, Selassie remains a key figure in turning Ethiopia into a modern civilization. In 1931
Selassie began to develop a written constitution (a system of basic laws of a country) to symbolize his
interest in modernization and intention to increase the power of the African government, Haile
Selassie s efforts were cut short, however, when Benito Mussolini s Italian army invaded the country
in 1935. The Italian military used superior weaponry, airplanes, and poison gas to crush the ill fated

Hirohito became emperor when his father died in 1926. The emperor was regarded as divine by many
Japanese. In reality he had little power, with civilian and increasingly military officials deciding
national policy. He reluctantly supported the invasion of Manchuria and the war against China, and
attempted to encourage cooperation with Britain and the USA. However, he had no choice but to
approve the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor that led to war between Japan and the United States in
December 1941. Despite his lack of enthusiasm over the decision to go to war, he was pleased with
the Japanese military and naval successes that followed. He frequently appeared in military uniform to
raise morale. By the spring of 1945, the defeat of Japan seemed imminent. The Japanese government
was deeply divided between military leaders who favoured continuing the war and civilians who
wanted to negotiate for peace. Hirohito appears to have favoured peace. Following the atomic bomb
attacks on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Hirohito insisted that Japan surrender. On 15 August 1945, he
made a radio broadcast announcing the end of the war this was the first time the people of Japan had
heard the voice of their emperor. Some Allied leaders wanted to try Hirohito as a war criminal.
General Douglas MacArthur, who was in charge of the United States occupying forces in Japan, felt it
would be easier to introduce democratic reforms if Hirohito

Data Management And Information Systems
Introduction
With 3.2 billion internet users [1] and 6.4 billion internet connected devices by 2016 [2],
unprecedented amount of data is being generated and process daily and increasing every year. The
advent of web 2.0 has fueled the growth and creation of new and more complex types of data which
creates a natural demand to analyze new data sources in order to gain knowledge. This new data
volume and complexity of the data is being called Big Data, famously characterised by Volume,
Variety and Velocity; has created data management and processing challenges due to technological
limitations, efficiency or cost to store and process in a timely fashion. The large volume and complex
data is unable to be handled and/or processed by most current information systems in a timely manner
and the traditional data mining and analytics methods developed for a centralized data systems may
not be practical for big data.
The paper provides background and related literature on the Big Data, studies the concept from
Relational Database to current NoSQL database which have been fueled by the growth Big Data and
importance of managing it. And surveys the Big Data challenges from the perspective of its
characteristics Volume, Variety and Velocity and attempts to study how those challenges can be
addressed.
This is where NoSQL systems have been created to solve the data management challenges posed by
Big Data. NoSQL is not a single system that can solve every single Big Data problem

Favelas In Brazil Research Paper
Favelas in Brazil have always had a somewhat rough background in getting along with outsiders.
Meaning drug lords, gangs, and occasional gun shootouts with the police. There is no doubt that it is a
dangerous area to be in. Though you d expect the people living there to want to leave to get out of that
situation. It is actually quite different they like where they re at. None of them really mind where they
are and favelas support a total of 1.5 million people, which is about 24% of the population in Brazil.
Though living in one is also a close resemblance to slum life, or an overcrowded area, occupied by
very poor people. There are some that are seen as a more high functioning, and have been developing
in new and extraordinary ways. Favelas do indeed have a darker side. Since they are such tight space
with so many people, this area, have become a popular spot for crimes, and for drugs. Most are ruled
by drug lords. Who traffic cocaine, and encourage gang violence. The government brought in military
force to try to help with this, with a high success in 2010. The protection is slowly deteriorating, as
shoot out are now occurring more, and more often. The recent occurrence of the Olympics in Rio,

Analytical Essay on Dulce et Decorum Est
By ZA 2010 and 15 years of Age
British war poet, Wilfred Owen, incorporates many techniques of poetry writing in his works. As a
soldier, Owen often wrote poems which described the misery and hardships on the fronts of World
War One. To illustrate the image and scenes of the conflict, Owen uses an array of techniques which
can be noticed in his poem Dulce et Decorum Est
In the poem, Dulce et Decorum Est , Owen recollects the event of a gas attack on returning soldiers.
Owen writes the poem in his own voice and from his own experiences of war. He addresses the
misery, plight and hardships of war to his primary audiences in Britain. Owens main objective of
writing Dulce et Decorum Est was to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The slow rhythm relates with the slow and tired group of retreating soldiers. Words such as haunting
flares and trudge / sludge slow the poem and add heaviness. Rhythm increases at the beginning of the
gas attack (second stanza), as the soldiers scatter into panic. The tone then slows again as Owen
depicts the death of the soldier and delves into a reflective mood, as the wagon slowly departs with the
dead soldier. Owens uses words ending in ing to create a sense of heaviness and slowness in the pace
of the poem.
To illustrate the scene of the gas attack, Owen uses many poetic techniques.
Owen uses horrid and unpleasant forms of imagery to make the reader realise the reality of war.
Instantly from the opening lines, Owen makes an impact on the reader s impressions about war. Bent
double, like old beggars under sacks, Knock Kneed, coughing like hags, we cursed through sludge .
Such phrases convey hardship, pitiful conditions and anguish of war. They are supported by detailed
visual descriptions such as, limped on, blood shod , floundering like a man on fire or lime , guttering,
choking, drowning , white yes writhing and come gargling from the froth corrupted lungs . These
images are striking and appealing to the reader. They illustrate an intolerable and unpleasant scene,
additionally exposing the lies of propaganda poster images.
Techniques such as similes also add to develop an ugly image. Such as, Bent double like old beggars

The Social Aspect Of A Self Image
Introduction Oxford Dictionaries awarded the term Selfie as word of the year in 2013 and define this
phenomenon as a photograph that has taken of oneself, typically with a smartphone or web cam and
uploaded to a social media arguing the selfie to be the modern approach to self portraiture with More
then 1 Million Selfie s taken each day . The global popularity of this ritual of social networking has
even had a song dedicated to this trend, symbolising of an era of youth culture. The bandwagon
mentality fashioned from this phenomenon of a popular trend, in effect attracts greater popularity as a
result of people doing something, not based on its merit, but based on what others do. The concept of
a self image is not a new idea as the involvement of self portraits pre dates the Internet and evolving
technology. Even the photo booth dates back as far as 1880, and attracted groups of friends much as it
does today . So it would be easy to argue that there was already a social aspect to controlling your
pictures and a slowly developing technological advances would allow. Until the 1970s, instant
Polaroid cameras could be held at arm s length and encouraged people to take more intimate photos as
well as instant developing pictures. History/ Culture Lots of people claim to be the originator of the
Selfie. Since 1981 Hollywood cameraman, Lester Wisbrod claims he is first person to take celebrity
selfies. However Australia also lays claims to inventing the

The Discipline Of Applied Sciences
The discipline of applied sciences has been around for many thousands of years. Over time, the
writings in the discipline have evolved along with the progressive discoveries and advancements.
From this, a well refined template to structure writings off of has been developed. Subsections of this
discipline have been able to take this template and run with it, modifying it to fit the specific needs
and values of their individual discourse communities. Kinesiology, as one of these subsections in it s
infant stages being only 50 some years old is still progressing in it s writings. Video games have been
around since the early 1970 s, starting with the arcade classic Pong. Early incarnations of video games
had low quality graphics, and generally little effect aside from the enjoyment or frustration from
playing the game. As time and technology have progressed so have the effects that video games have
on their players. People have attributed lifestyles, addictions, and even violent acts to things they have
seen or experienced while playing video games. Authors Christopher Ferguson and Brad Millington
have both looked into some of these effects that video games have produced. As an associate professor
of psychology at Texas A M University and holding a Ph.D. in criminal psychology, Christopher
Ferguson looks at the effects that video games have on the mind in his works. Brad Millington holds a
Ph.D. in kinesiology and is an assistant professor for the Department of Health at the

Drug Addiction And Behavioral Or Process Addictions
There are many different types of addiction that people become dependent on and they are devoted to
it. There are 2 main categories of addiction, which are substance related addiction and behavioral or

According to Wikipedia, addiction is a state characterized by compulsive engagement in rewarding
stimuli despite adverse consequence . When becoming addicted it is being reliant on a certain
substance or an activity, physically and mentally. When addicted you feel as if you need to have it and
are unable to stop taking it. Substance abuse or misuse is when you are dependent on a certain
substance, most common substances are alcohol and drugs. When misusing substances it affects a
person s physical and mental health and their social responsibilities.

I was standing on the logo in Oracle Arena, home of The Warriors. The bright lights and vibrant blue

I got the chills thinking I was really going to play on the same court that NBA players play on. The
best part was if we win the tournament then the parents and players both get tickets for the game later
on. I laced up my all white sneakers and thought to myself it s gametime.
As the other starters and I took the court, I started imagining myself on TV, as if I were in the NBA.

As we enter the arena once again, the first thing i could smell was the sweet cinnamon from the

The Warriors scored the crowd erupted as if they had just made a game winner. Once it was halftime,

Special Needs People In The 1960 s
Although special needs people in the 1960 s were considered useless, Eunice Kennedy Shriver took a
stand for them. She created the special olympics, and camp shriver. She used the Joseph P Kennedy Jr.
Foundation as well to bend her will on the country of America. The legacy she left behind is still felt
today; with the special olympics having an attendance of over 3 million people. Along with that, we
have seen the rights and view of special needs people increase ten fold, compared to what they were in
the 1960 s. They are as much a part of modern society as anyone else is. Let s begin with some

But Eunice Kennedy Shriver worried about something completely different, (and no, it wasn t Soviet
spies). She was concerned about the state how mentally disabled people across America were treated.
In the 1960 s, there was no conclusive research done that explained why mentally disabled people
were how they were. Because of this, society casted them aside, considering them useless and a waste
of time to deal with. The mentally disabled were frequently placed in mental facilities where
conditions were awful. A young patient at a mental facility recalled a punishment he received at
Rockland County Mental Asylum in the 60 s: When we started to misbehave, they would tie us down
with icy cold wet sheets. These were the types of punishment administered to mentally disabled
people because they didn t really know what else to do with them. Another social stigma around the
mentally disabled was that they brought a sort of shame to their families. In turn, many mentally
disabled children were kept hidden by the families to avoid embarrassment, and also because no one
thought they could function like normal members of society. Eunice

Factors That Have Been Used By Managers
Introduction
There are many theories and strategies that managers used to achieve business success. The strategy
research and practical models assumes that organizations are able to adapt to their environment.
However that is not necessarily the case as there are many examples of mainstream approach that has
been criticised for not taking into account how environments can also constrain individuals and
organisations. Mainstream approach such as organizational ecology and institutional theory is argued
for not considering on how environments are also one of the factors that constrain individual and
organisations which are also known as task environment. Task environment is the external

Examples of strategies that have been used that do not take environment into account are such as
organizational ecology and institutional theory.
Organizational ecology is the combination of organizational demography and the population ecology
of organization which focus on scientific analysis and study of interactions among organisms and their
environment. Organizational ecology utilizes the insights from biology, economics, and sociology, and
employs statistical analysis to try to understand the conditions under which organizations emerge,
grow, and die. This strategy analyse the effects of the environment on organization structure
population. According to the organizational ecology theory by (Dimaggio Powell, 1983) the strategy
research and practical models assume that organizations are able to adapt to their environment.
However this is not always true as the theory did not take account of economics problems such as
sunk costs caused by environmental changes such as the case of The Celler Kefauver Act of 1950 was
just such a shock, in that it opened horizontal and vertical mergers to federal scrutiny and encouraged
firms to spend excess capital on other kinds of acquisitions. Other factors such as not enough

The Effects Of Advertisements On Society By Krina Modi
Summary:
Effects of Advertisements on Society, written by Krina Modi. The purpose of writing this essay is to
inform and debate the effects of advertisement on the society. The essay debates the impact of ads on
individual as well as the message they send to society of today. It also highlights the fact that
advertisements of today may have good effects as well as bad effects on the society and the fact that
the bad effects can over shadow the good ones. The author also gives a clear warning signs about the
dangers of advertisements.
One of the fascinating debates presented by the author was the fact that advertisements can be like
advice that can evaluate the nature and behavior of a certain society. In addition, she discussed how

First one is it manipulate and plays with the public emotions and second is encouraging materialism as
an activity that s essential in everybody s life. The agreement in those two arguments makes me as a
reader doubts them for two reasons. First is manipulation takes a great amount of effort to make it
sound or appear convincing and not all firms have the financial means to achieve that goal. Major
corporation invest huge sums of money on ads to generate profit but if consumers are the only victims
how come no one figured a way to stop this endless cycle? It s because consumers themselves are
allowing this to continue, they want to consume more. The society has reach the point of no return ,
our minds are only programmed to consume not to create or stop , we just keep consuming infinite
amounts and the only pocket feeling the burn is the pocket of those less fortunate. Materialism is
something that been brought on us as a curse, but for advertisements its gift that keeps on giving. The
author made a convincing argument about materialism that I agreed with till a certain point which was
the fact it creates this obsession in us to own items that we may or may not need. Also, the fact it
compensates missing happiness that a person might have been derived from as child or a grown
person. However, the only flaw in this argument is that happiness as we know cannot be bought by

The Viscosity of Liquids
39. The Viscosity of Liquids
After studying the present lecture, you will be able to
Define viscosity and viscosity coefficient
Outline the method to measure viscosity using Ostwald viscometer
Determine the average molecular weight of a polymer
Determine the surface concentration of 1 butanol in aqueous solution
Measure the distribution coefficient of a solute betweenn two solvents
39.1 Introduction
Viscosity, one of the transport properties, arises because of intermolecular attractive and relatively
long range forces. Viscosity coefficient ([pic]), a specific constant characteristic of a liquid could be
expressed by the following equation of Poiseuille.
[pic] ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The constant a is sensitive to the shape and varies from zero for hard sphere or 0.5 for random coils to
2.0 for rigid rods.
Variation of specific viscosity of a solution [pic] (specific viscosity or reduced viscosity) is defined as
[pic], where [pic] is the viscosity of solution i and [pic] the viscosity of pure solvent) with the
concentration of solute is given by the equation:
[pic] (39.7)
where, c is concentration of the polymer in g/mL and K is a constant.
The determination of average molecular weight of polyvinyl acetate in acetone and methanol uses the
following Procedure:
Prepare solution of polyvinyl acetate in acetone containing approximately 1 mg/ mL. From this
prepare four more solutions of 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8 mg/ mL by dilution. Measure the specific viscosity of
all the four solutions as described above.
Repeat the above experiment with solution of polyvinyl acetate in methanol.
Plot [pic] versus c and calculate [pic] and K from equation (2). Also, using the empirical formula (1)
and constant of K and a from the table given below, determine the molecular weight of polyvinyl
acetate in these two solvents.
|Solvent |K |a |
|Acetone |21.4 x 105 |0.68 |
|Methanol |38 x 10 5 |0.59 |

The Effects Of Parental Incarceration On Children s...
The Impact Parental Incarceration on Children s Development and Attachment Style
The greatest threat to a child s well being in the United States is parental incarceration The Sentencing
Project. A 500% increase has made The land of the Free the top country in the world for housing
inmates in its correctional facilities, with more than 2.2 million currently incarcerated (BJS, 2011).
Excusing one s views on the appropriateness of the justice system and incarceration, it is evident that
parental imprisonment disrupts the relationship between a parent and a child tremendously. In addition
to the absence of nurturance, economic stresses are heightened which can cause the remaining family
to become unstable. Because there has is not a lot of research dedicated to the wellbeing of children
who have a parent incarcerated, it is vital that more attention be paid to the nations children. Our goal
in this paper is to examine the impact of parental incarceration on children s development and
attachment style.
The background literature for this topic has been subdivided into three categories. To understand the
impact of incarceration we must first look at the parent child relationship, warm parental interactions
are associated with effective problem solving in adolescence and adulthood, while hostile interactions
are associated with destructive adolescent behavior (Ge, Best, Conger Simons, 1996a; Rueter conger,

Analysis Of The Film 3 Of Yuma
In the film 3:10 to Yuma emphasizes a family of four going through a downside, and in order to
recover back his home, save the town, is to be a hero. The hero needs to catch the suspect that is
ruining the town, and killing innocent people. Therefore, the suspect needs to be escorted to a train
that goes to Yuma, but it only comes at a certain time, which is at 3:10 pm. That hero is Dan Evans
that has a lot of experience with weapons because he comes from the civil war. Also Evans has a
missing leg that prevents him from doing things that he cannot do before. However, he has a son name
William Evans that looks up to him, but Dan manages a way to save the town, so he can have a happy
family. Ben wade is the killer that is looking for trouble, along with his crew, and also has escaped
from prison twice. Although, in reality not all heroes wear capes or have super powers, but has a mind
that can control the situation to help out the community, for a happy life.
A hero is does not have to apply to a fairytale, movie, or a book, but a person, who likes to help out an
individual, or the community from killing, raping, or even bullying. In the beginning of the movie
Evans noticed gun shots outside of his ranch, and he saw part of place was getting burn. He knew who
was the person, and was disappointed because he owed money, but he manages somehow to payback.

The roof above twinkled with hundreds of light bulbs, making any audience member feel the sense of

A variety of classic sound effects replicated the projection on screen in order to specify even further
the actions being performed such as using the telephone, riding in an elevator, arriving at a train stop,
and driving in a car. The sound effects created a connection to a more traditional sense of theatre
amongst the new technological addition of projectors. With the busyness of the opening scene, a
spotlight was used to appear on each actor as they spoke. This made it clear to the audience where
they should be looking and it lessened the overwhelming feeling of multiple people being on stage at
once. After the opening, the actors took off their own set pieces making for a quick and smooth
transition into the next scene. The cage surrounding the stage was diversely used as walls, doors, and
even an elevator. A separate cage piece was often lowered from above to divide the stage in half from
left to right when the whole stage did not need to be used. I specifically admired that many of the set
pieces had versatile purposes, such as the couch also being used as the back seat of a taxi or the front

Throughout your whole life you will learn that notetaking is a skill that you will use close to everyday
of your life. When notetaking it doesn t have to just be writing down information with pen and paper.
You could simply just make a mental note in your head of something that is important and needs to be
remembered. In college, every student will not be able to listen to every word being said by the
professor, even if you have good memory. When notetaking during a lecture it s important to take
down the key information and the concepts that you will need to remember. If the professor likes to
talk for an hour straight there is no way you can remember all of that the next day. Notetaking is the
best way to cover the lecture effectively.

This mode has high assertiveness and high cooperation. It is a best style adopted to find a solution of a
conflict that would not have been generated by a single individual. This strategy works best when both
sides have trust in them and are working towards a common goal. For example, if team members are
establishing initial parameters for how to work effectively together, then collaborating mode could be
quite useful to complete a task. The Chinese proverb is even the teeth would sometime bite the tongue

Comparative Politics Is An Essential Field Within...
Comparative politics is an essential field within political science, as it is always present and always
prevalent. One of the most alluring elements of comparative politics is the stark contrast one can
observe between two or more nations in terms of their sociopolitical climate. Every nation has distinct
political intricacies, and one particularly controversial issue that is gaining interest globally is political
corruption. Corruption can manifest itself in a myriad of ways in a nation s government regime, and
widespread corruption can have significant repercussions on sustainability, the balance of power, and
individual rights within a nation state. In 2015, Transparency International ranked North Korea the
second most corrupt nation in the world, while Norway was ranked the sixth least corrupt. This paper
will examine the staggering juxtaposition in corruption levels between the two nations based on the
contrast in their respective governmental regimes and institutions. It will dissect the causes for this
disparity in corruption levels, and examine how this factor has impacted both countries in an attempt
to uncover the motivations and costs linked to corruption.
When corruption takes root in a nation, it can be very difficult to extinguish. Corruption has embedded
itself deep within North Korea s government, and it has become a driving force of the nation s
economy, as well as its overall identity. North Korea has, become incredibly good at raising revenue

Examples Of Mercy And Compassion
There are so many ways on how to practice mercy and compassion. There are three simple steps given
to us by Pope Francis during his apostolic visit here in the Philippines on how to become ministers of
mercy and compassion. First is to rest with God. Second is to renew one s self. Third is to love others.
Pope Francis tells us that To be an ambassador for Christ means to invite everyone to a renewed
personal encounter with Christ. (Evangelii Gaudium). A renewed personal encounter with Christ is
witnessed when we rest with God. Rest is very crucial to everyone s life. But some people seldom

And also there are people that we love so much but doesn t return our love back. Real love is about
loving God, and letting Him love us back. Another way of practicing mercy and compassion is to love
others. Loving others unlike the renewal of one s self focuses on giving love to other people. Loving
others is bringing Jesus to others. Loving others is not just about giving them what they need, it s
about teaching them how to provide for themselves. Let us practice mercy and compassion by resting
with God, renewing ourselves, and loving others. During the season of lent we reflect on the passion,
death, and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. Lent is a source of mercy and compassion in a way
that we practice fasting and abstinence and as much as possible drink water. Water has a chemical
formula of H2O which means, H for Honesty, H for Humility, for being humble enough to admit your
mistakes, and O for Obedience, for obeying the people in authority like our parents. These 3 are the
sources of mercy and compassion. That s why we should be honest, humble and obedient. Always
drink H20 on the season of Lent. The author spent his holy week in the Philippines.

Magwitch s Manipulations of Pip in Great Expectations

exploited by Magwitch to meet these goals. To meet the expectations of the gentleman, Pip must leave
his family and any possibility of earning his living in order to satisfy the educational and societal

The title of gentleman therefore denotes one who passes his time idly without and obligation or
responsibility besides remaining socially amiable. The emergence of the middle class in the nineteenth
century allowed people not of noble birth to enter the ranks of gentility. Becoming an educated and
morally noble gentleman had come within the reach of those who had previously been excluded.
Industry made it possible for someone of the working class to elevate his social position through his
own efforts. This new definition of the gentleman had a great appeal among the emerging middle class
because high birth, the traditional passport to recognition as a gentleman, could be side stepped at
least in theory (Platz 152). This new opportunity created a split between the traditional upper classes
and the newly established English bourgeoisie. Dickens recognized the paradoxical aspiration toward
the position of an idle gentleman through labor. Obtaining the appearance of a gentleman became
more important than the means by which the facade is constructed. Platz writes, Dickens Great
Expectations can be interpreted as an attempt to dismantle both the legitimacy and symbolic authority
of the gentleman (162). Pip deceives himself by accepting the old

The problem in which Russia s economic system possess involve many different areas of crisis.
Russia s economic growth has been decreasing due to oil pricing and Western financial sanctions.
Without investment, the economy cannot grow. Russia dealt with this problem in 2012 when Putin
rose to power as it seemingly stopped growing. In 2014, investment eventually started to decline
which resulted in the crash of the Russian economic system.
The Russian economy has been deep in ostensibly low growth rates. Poverty and unemployment are a
huge factor resulted from a declining economy. Unemployment is said to be low, while poverty is
considered to be decently high in the formerly known Soviet Union. With the 50% decline in the value
of the Russian ruble, it has adversely impacted the standard of living in Russia at a great amount.
According to this impact, it is said that Russia is in more danger of economic crisis than the global
economic recession that occurred in 2008 2009.

Deviance Is A Violation Of Social Norms
Imagine someone rich or powerful committing crimes without the fear of serving consequences. The

Deviance is nonconformity to these norms. Social norms can vary from culture to culture and is
defined in numerous ways. Many researchers believe that deviance is a violation of social norms.

Privileged Deviance is economically costly because some powerful individuals attempt to escape the
consequences of deviant actions. Deviance occurs through interactions between individuals and
groups. The labeling theory discusses the social behavior of how and why individuals continue deviant
activity to maintain their identity or label. Thio, Taylor, and Schwartz state the word interaction
deviance is a human activity involving more than one person s act (Thio, et. al, 2013, p. 35). The
theory suggests individuals reflect on their behavior and how others view their actions. The labeling
theory can be linked to the symbolic interaction foundation perspective. Understanding deviance and
criminal behavior are addressed through the labeling theory. Thio, Taylor, and Schwartz suggest that
the deviant act begins with the hypothesis that no act is essentially criminal. Criminality is recognized
by individuals who feel powerful through the design of laws and the interpretation of law
enforcement. Deviance is determined by the interaction between deviant and nondeviant actions and
how the community interprets the actions. Individuals who adhere to the law and promote acceptable
behaviors are the main source of labeling. For example; this may include police officers, courts, or

  • 2. Walkalong Collides Did you know that walkalong gliders can stay in the air as long as you want? This happens because of wind constantly pushing wind against the glider, therefore keeping the glider in the air. According to recent experience with gliders, the hypothesis is going to be which glider is faster, and which one stays up longer, and if the hypothesis is correct then the seagull glider will be the best. If the conditions are not perfect, then this will affect the project majorly. To understand more about walkalong gliders you must know the science behind gliders, the condition the paper must be in, and also possible weather that will affect the project. Do you know what it takes to make walkalong gliders fly? Walkalong gliders are very fun to use, and one of the things walkalong gliders need, is aerodynamics, Aerodynamics is the properties of a solid object the manner in which air flows around it, but the good thing about aerodynamics, is that it substitutes for engines Aerodynamics is for those who cannot manufacture good engines (Enzo Ferrari). Another thing that walkalong gliders need to fly is wind resistance, and wind resistance is where the airplane is able to fly without being affected by wind. Another thing that you NEED for a walkalong glider is a cardboard surface, and it forces ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 3. The Cultural Structuring Of Mealtime Socialization Mark Irish Melissa Grunow 399 General Education Capstone November 25, 2014 Shattered Socialization The ways of the past are becoming more and more obsolete as the years go by, because our society is rewriting how we should live our lives on a daily basis. With this world constantly changing we have shattered our socialization for the worst when nit comes to communication with other people on a daily basis. Mealtimes have become scares, because everyone wants to do their own thing, get done quick for the day light is fleeting fast, and most importantly no one has anything to talk about when they come home. According to Elinor and Shohet in their article The Cultural Structuring Of Mealtime Socialization expresses the issue of mealtime socializing. They state the mealtimes are more of a tradition passed down from generation to generation and then becomes a symbol with in a home. (Elinor and Shohet, 36) With them implying that parents actually have to take effort in passing this tradition down to their children and so forth has become a dying art form, because of the lack of parenting and teaching. According to Mona and Benga their article The Relationship Between Cultural Model, Socialization Goals And Parental Ethnotheories: A Mixed Method Study Brings up a lot of good points about how children learn from their parents. There are three main key factors that help out with these socialization issues passed on to each generation. They are, Parental Cultural Models, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. history fact files Essay Haille Selassie Haile Selassie was an emperor of Ethiopia whose influence as an African leader far surpassed the boundaries of his country. Although his popularity declined near the end of his sixty year reign, Selassie remains a key figure in turning Ethiopia into a modern civilization. In 1931 Selassie began to develop a written constitution (a system of basic laws of a country) to symbolize his interest in modernization and intention to increase the power of the African government, Haile Selassie s efforts were cut short, however, when Benito Mussolini s Italian army invaded the country in 1935. The Italian military used superior weaponry, airplanes, and poison gas to crush the ill fated resistance led by the emperor. After the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Hirohito became emperor when his father died in 1926. The emperor was regarded as divine by many Japanese. In reality he had little power, with civilian and increasingly military officials deciding national policy. He reluctantly supported the invasion of Manchuria and the war against China, and attempted to encourage cooperation with Britain and the USA. However, he had no choice but to approve the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor that led to war between Japan and the United States in December 1941. Despite his lack of enthusiasm over the decision to go to war, he was pleased with the Japanese military and naval successes that followed. He frequently appeared in military uniform to raise morale. By the spring of 1945, the defeat of Japan seemed imminent. The Japanese government was deeply divided between military leaders who favoured continuing the war and civilians who wanted to negotiate for peace. Hirohito appears to have favoured peace. Following the atomic bomb attacks on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Hirohito insisted that Japan surrender. On 15 August 1945, he made a radio broadcast announcing the end of the war this was the first time the people of Japan had heard the voice of their emperor. Some Allied leaders wanted to try Hirohito as a war criminal. General Douglas MacArthur, who was in charge of the United States occupying forces in Japan, felt it would be easier to introduce democratic reforms if Hirohito ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A separate cage piece was often lowered from above to divide the stage in half from left to right when the whole stage did not need to be used. I specifically admired that many of the set pieces had versatile purposes, such as the couch also being used as the back seat of a taxi or the front seat of a car as other cast members pushed it around on stage in order to create the sense of driving .
