2. The Events Of September 11th
One of the most controversial events ever to occur is still being talked about to this day.
September 11th, 2001 will forever go down in history as one of the most tragic disasters to hit
the United States of America. It was heartbreak for all of us to see those towers fall and
thousands upon thousands of American lives destroyed. One might ask themselves; didn t
everything get explained a little too quickly? Why did everyone so quickly forget the details to
this tragedy? The events of September 11th, 2001 are surely going to be remembered for its
brutal truth and will always remind us of the hate that we as humans can create. The events of
September 11th happened so fast that lots of details were overlooked but now, six years later one
can finally take a breath and really look into what happened. The inevitable outcome is simply that
George W. Bush and his government secretly put together the events of September 11th to rally the
support of the U.S. citizens on many issues. This is such a strong accusation to make but a little
common sense and evidence can quickly refute that our president is anything but a human being.
What really happened to the World Trade Center on September 11th? One of the most confusing
things about the tragedy of September 11th is the collapsing of the World Trade Center s. The
World Trade Center s collapse in such a short amount of time that any human with simple common
sense would raise an eyebrow as to why. How many buildings in our history

4. The Internet Of Things, And Its Influence On Globalization
The Internet of Things (IoT), and its influence on globalization, is changing the way of life in
developed and developing countries. Making great strides in connecting the world, technology
brings people together through email, live chats, social networking, and video. Yet, with increased
technology comes increased threats to data loss, identity theft, and privacy concerns, especially
considering the underbelly of the IoT where cybercrime threats challenge security. The IoT
contains three general areas known as the Surface Web, the Deep Web, and the Dark Web (see
Appendix A). The Surface Web is much smaller than the other two put together. The Surface Web
only makes up about four percent of the Internet and the Deep Web/Dark Web combined makes up
the balance of about 96%. However, the Dark Web itself only comprises about 0.01% of the
Internet. The Surface Web is the section of the Internet that the general population surfs daily using
an ever expanding availability of commercially developed web browsers, such as Chrome, Firefox,
or Internet Explorer. Surface Web sites are accessible through Bing, Google, Yahoo, and other
search engines. Made up of publicly searchable sites, the Surface Web offers corporate sites, email,
forums, government sites, news outlets, online storefronts, and social networking. The Deep Web
holds countless sensitive databases, medical and legal information, government reports, sensitive
papers, publications, password protected data, and private

5. How Does Adichie s Collection Explore The Notion Of...
How does Adichie s collection explore the notion of identity? In the anthology The Thing Around
Your Neck, our author exposes her readers to various characters who face challenges about their
identity and sense of belonging. Many of Adichie s characters weigh their value and sense of self
against their gender. Some of her characters find security in the fact that they are male. Conversely,
some of her other characters feel lost and in despair, and this may be contributed by the fact that
they are at the receiving end of prejudiced treatment. Also, Adichie uses narrativestrategies in order
to explore some deep rooted mentalities regarding identity. By keeping some of her characters
unnamed and describing them using only their race or nationality, she seems to be challenging
the concept of homogenous identity. She also seems to be encouraging her readers to recognize
her characters as singular people, not as representatives of certain a certain race or nationality.
Adichie also uses second person narration in some of her short stories in order for her readers to
be more involved in the narrative. She exposes her readers to feelings of loneliness, anonymity
and loss faced by her characters in order for them to have a more relatable grasp of their situation
in the hopes that they would be able to understand and accept her characters more readily. By
subjecting some of her characters to sexist and biased treatment, Adichie seeks to expose her
readers to the reality of how a

6. Killer Queen Description
Killer Queen by Queen is very intriguing to me for one big reason, depending on how I look at
the lyrics; I cannot decide whether the song is about a classy prostitute or a homosexual man;
however, before going into this ambiguity, I must establish some background for the song and its
history. Queen is a British rock band formed in 1970; at the time of this song being written, the
lineup was: Freddie Mercury, on lead and backing vocals; Brian May, on electric guitar and backing
vocals; Roger Taylor, on drums and also backing vocals; and John Deacon on bass guitar. Though
the band started out with heavier rock, this song marked their transition towards a more glam rock
or pop rock tone of music; a change that proved extremely successful for... Show more content on

As an example we can look at the first verse; it opens by informing listeners that this queen keeps
a very fancy wine (MoГ«t et Chandon) in her cabinet, showing that she is a person who wants to
come across as refined and fancy, and then moves into saying that she recites the famous Let
them eat cake quote, Just like Marie Antoinette , the queen of France before the French
Revolution. This line is where it starts alluding to the fact that she is not simply the refined and
high class lady she appears to be. Marie Antoinette is famously misattributed to that quote, and
while initially well received and liked by the French populace, people grew to dislike her and
accused her of being promiscuous in addition to other accusations. So while the line seems to
just be painting her as a refined person, it is actually alluding to her true nature. The song goes
on in many other lines to describe this Killer Queen ; she appears to be a high class woman who
is at times, as Mercury himself put it, a whore. This forms the basis of the most accepted (and
perfectly valid) interpretation of the song; however, as it is already well accepted, it is not the
interpretation I would like to focus on getting

7. Importance Of Measuring Meridian Arcs Essay
The completion of the survey of a great chain of first order triangulation s along the arc of the 30th
meridian of east longitude, from South Africa to Egypt, is considered one of the most exceptional
surveying feats to ever be executed in Africa and thus its history has interested geodetic surveyors
throughout the world. This paper aims to expatiate on the importance of measuring meridian arcs,
the need to establish a geodetic survey in a country or continent and subsequently will recount the
sequence of events that led to the 75 year length completion of the African arc.
The size and shape of the Earth have been of interest to man since the earliest of times, dating as
far back to Eratosthenes in the third century. Throughout the years during the 18th and 19th
century, geodesists were pre occupied with the task of devising a more accurate determination of
the size and shape of the Earth. This led to the observing of necessary triangulations along arcs to
determine the radius of the Earth and its degree of flattening (MacDonald, 2000). The African arc,
conceived by Sir David Gill, Her Majesty s Astronomer at Cape Town, was created with the
understanding that it would contribute immensely to the better knowledge of the form and
dimensions on the Earth (Smith, 2006) therefore adding value to the advancement of geodesy.
However, besides the need to determine more accurate dimensions for the Earth (Hendriks, 1955),
there was a pressing need to establish a reliable and

9. The Importance Of Nursing For Their Patient s Spiritual...
Nursing is a profession that involves caring for people from many different religious, cultural,
ethnic, or racial backgrounds. The world is full of unique individuals. All people have needs,
however in nursing, most of these needs are physical and/or psychosocial; but spiritual needs are
important and should not be overlooked. Since patients do need spiritual care, nurses have a unique
opportunity to minister to the needs of their patients. Nurses also may find themselves in a position
that calls for them to minister to the family and friends of their patients. There are differing
opinions of how nurses should care for their patient s spiritual needs. I will discuss why nursing
should include spirituality in their efforts to delivering holistic care to their patients.
Keywords: Nurses, Spirituality, Religion, Holistic, Transcendence, Ethics The Role of Spirituality
in Health Care
Spirituality can be seen in everyday life as well as in the areas of philosophy, literature, sociology,
and health care. Many scholastic programs have begun offering courses in spirituality, religion, and
health. Many nursing schools have incorporated spirituality and holistic health care into their
curriculums. Meeting the spiritual needs of our patients should be as important to health care
providers as meeting their physical, mental and emotional needs.

11. The Lives Of Lee Boyd Malvo And John Allen Muhammad
D.C. Snipers
Randall Pace
Wiregrass Technical College
Abstract
The purpose of this research paper is to examine the lives of Lee Boyd Malvo and John Allen
Muhammad. They are known as the D.C. Snipers who initiated a killing spree that lasted over 20
days and resulted in 10 deaths and 3 injuries. This paper gives insight into the manipulation and
control of John Allen Muhammad over Lee Boyd Malvo who was child during this reign of terror.
Information is given to aid in understanding the contributing factors that led to innocent lives taken
from society, the loss innocence of a minor, and the molding and shaping of a cold blooded killer.
D.C. Snipers Children are the most precious human beings on the Earth. They represent such a
pure and innocence of mankind. They are to be loved, nurtured, molded, and trained by their
parents to be law abiding citizens and good moral and responsible adults. However, what
happens when this does not happen? When innocence is turned into evil, what is the result?
When children are not exposed to model parents and influenced by others who do not have their
best interest in mind, society gains troubled children who have the potential to become
dangerous and unstable. This is the case of the making of Lee Boyd Malvo: The D.C. Sniper.
Lee Boyd Malvo was a child in 2002 when terror struck and our nation was in fear (Albarus,
2012). Lee was manipulated and brainwashed by an adult figure in his life named John Allen

This was all made possible by strong centralized control over sources of raw material and labor,
through the office of the vizier.
In order to more efficiently run the nation, some responsibilities had to be decentralized, placing
authority in the hands of local nobles and governors. Some were too tempted by the thought of
holding power, and began to break away from the royal government at Memphis up in the Delta.
Others, like Qar, who served in the 6th Dynasty under King Merenra, recalled that he sailed
upstream to the nome of Edfu as sole companion, nomarch, overseer of Upper Egyptian barley
and overseer of prophets, because I was capable and appreciated in the esteem of his Majesty. I
came to be accorded the office of lord of every leader of all Upper EgyptВ…I gave bread to the
hungry and clothing to the one who went naked in this nomeВ…It was I who buried every name
in this nome who had no heir, with linen drawn from my own property. Qar was later deified and a
cult for him grew.
After the First Intermediate Period, authority was not given to important regional families, but
capable members of the middle class were appointed to offices, creating a devoted class of civil
servants. The capital was also moved away from the Delta, to Lisht, in Middle Egypt.
The autobiographical text of Vizier Ankhu of the 13th Dynasty refers to other family members who
served as vizier, and indicates that the office was passed from father to son.

17. Description Of The Electrocardiogram ( Ecg )
1. Introduction
The electrocardiogram (ECG) is one of the most widely used tools for non invasively assessing
the cardiac state of a subject. It is used internationally for the early detection of acute myocardial
infarction and arrhythmias such as atrial fibrillation [1]. Due to the high mortality rate of
cardiovascular disease (CVD) it is of paramount importance to optimise the use of the ECG as it
detects the presence of CVD. The World Health Organisation estimates this disease will kill
approximately 17 million people per year [2]. Currently, the ECG is normally represented on a
paper printout, which is then interpreted by human observers. Given the prevalence of mobile
devices in medicine it is becoming apparent that the ECG will be interpreted using such devices in
the near future [3]. Clinical interpretation of the ECG has yet to be routinely supported using
mobile decision support algorithms. With this in mind an initial literature review has been carried
out to identify potential research questions, gaps and hypotheses.
2. Overview of Key Research Areas
Identified within the initial literature review are a number of key research themes including 1)
mobile based clinical training of ECG interpretation, 2) telemedicine, 3) ECG signal visualisation

18. Power Of Choice In John Steinbeck s East Of Eden
The book of Genesis demonstrates the history of creation. In the process of creating the world,
the reader can see that there are three sections demonstrated: the creation, the fall, and redemption.
The way that these three sections are exhibited is the amount of imagery and parallelism
displayed in each story. However, in the book, East of Eden, there is an allusion of Cain and Abel
story in which demonstrates the power of choice. This idea of the power of choice comes back to
the original story of the human creation: Adam and Eve. With the combination of the history of
Genesis and Steinbeck s novel East of Eden, demonstrates the idea of liberation especially with
Steinbeck s character Cal.
In the book of Genesis, the story of Adam and Eve is the example of individual choice for the rest
of humanity. When God confronted Adam He stated, Thou shalt not eat of it : cursed is the
ground for thy sake: in sorrow shalt, thou eat of it all the days of thy life (3:17). Here in ... Show

He states, the Hebrew word, the word timshel Thou mayest that gives a choice. It might be the
most important word in the world (303). This idea of timshel is a recurring theme all throughout
the third and fourth part of the novel. Lee does state two other definitions in which one states, a
command and the other one states a promise. At the end of the novel, Lee is pressuring Adam to
forgive his only living child, Cal and break a curse. For many scholars, the ending of the novel
can be a little ambiguous just because there is no clear indication of the action of stating,
Timshel. In my interpretation of the ending of the novel is a sign of liberation that started from
the garden of Eden to the story of Cain and Abel , until now. At the end when Adam states,
Timshel, it shows that Cal is free to be who wants to be. Cal can have the liberty of choice and not

19. Why Democratic States Do Not Fight Each Other
Why democratic states do not fight each other
The German philosopher Immanuel Kant outlined an original relevant idea in his essay
Perpetual Peace (1795). Kant s theory is based on a world with countries sharing a common a
constitutional republic as political regime, where people would appeal for a continuous or
perpetual peace as an ideal for living. The principle of Kant s idea is that people will not decide to
go on war unless to defend themselves and because of this there would be no aggressor nations and
the war occurrences would end. For Kant, the reluctance of the people to support war and its related
costs restrains democratic leaders from engaging conflicts with other nations.
The democratic peace theory is perhaps the most influential liberal contribution to the debate on the
cause of peace and war in the study of international relations. This theory refers to the impression
that states that are democracy by nature do not go to war with one another, a fact which historically

20. The, The Salem Witch Trials And The Civil Rights Movement...
It is often affirmed that as the most dominant species on planet earth, human beings essentially
rule the way in which our world has evolved; we have cognitive abilities that allow us to explore
a multitude of complex variables, utilize logic, formulate a wide range of choices, and act out our
decisions. However, even as highly logical creatures, humans have the propensity to be influenced
by the choices of others or information presented to them, form groups of like minded individuals,
and participate in behaviors they would likely not have undertaken on their own. This particular
behavior has been coined the mob mentality and under it, people appear to become mindless
automatons that lack any ability to act on their own thoughts. While there are perfect examples of
mob mentalities doing good, such as the pivotal march on Washington during the Civil rights
movement of the 1960 s, to something as simple as the yearly gathering of like minded individuals
at the Burning Man Festival, there are far more insidious examples such as the Holocaust, the
Salem Witch trials, and Bacon s Rebellion. In the realm of human behavior, each of these events is
representational of what psychology defines as a mob or herd mentality and this group behavior has
been an intrinsic quality of human civilizations throughout history. As such, this writer believes that
Bacon s Rebellion is a prime example of the negative implications mob mentalities are capable of
generating. However the

23. Argumentative Essay On Forensic Evidence
In 1984, a British geneticist named Alec Jeffreys stumbled upon one of our most important forensic
tools: DNA fingerprinting. Since his eureka moment, the scientific technique has been used
successfully to identify perpetrators of a crime, clarify paternity and exonerate people wrongly
convicted (Jones). DNAevidence, specifically simple mixture, is the most accurate type of
forensic evidence we currently have at our disposal, but even it is not infallible. Other types of
forensic evidence are much less accurate, but unfortunately their use is still permitted in U.S
courtrooms. Jurors may be misled by experts within the courtroom as well. These
misconceptions about the accuracy of forensic science and the field in general lead to many
problems in the courtroom. The most reliable type of forensic evidence is DNA, but it is still
not perfect, and the results should be portrayed that way in court. The reason DNA evidence is
so accurate is because it is highly objective. This objectivity makes it far less likely that an error
will be made during the analysis of the DNA sample. However, errors are still possible. For
example, samples may be switched or contaminated which could give a false result. There are
two different kinds of DNA evidence, simple mixture/single source samples and complex mixture
samples. The vast majority of DNA analysis currently involves samples from a single individual
or from a simple mixture of two individuals (such as from a rape kit) . . . the

25. The Role Of Hero In Aristotle s Tragic Hero
Hero is a specific character of many literatures. They are imaged as to worship, or character that
saves the universe on the literature. However, some heroes face tragedy by heading to their
darkest abyss of their path. In Aristotle s Tragic hero thesis, the hero gets called from adventure
and achieves aids from supernatural phenomenon. But by hero s own flaws, he/she transforms his
/her identity with sinister ambition to achieve the goal. However, the hero fails his/her goal
because during the steps hero takes, he/she commits evil actions that makes hero fall in challenges
and temptations. The most important cause that fails hero is the flaw of hero in him/her self. The
definition of flaw is a feature that mars the perfection of something; deflect; fault; Hero s tragedy is
being caused by hero s antagonists or hero transforming him/herself malice. In the play Macbeth,
both of these ways are related to supernatural phenomenon affecting tragic hero s journey. The steps
of tragic hero are starting from call to the adventure, supernatural aid, saving, transformation,
challenge temptation and facing the abyss at the end. By hero making a journey of this path, it
consequences the great fall of him/her self. The antagonists are also being an important part of
hero failing. They plan conspiracies to make hero fail in most painful and desperate way. In the

27. Arab and Muslims and Stereotypical labels in Movies
Movies are something that people of all color, religion and race watch. Directors of movies have
a big influence in the way they portray certain kind of people in films. It is obvious that these
people have a motive in bringing down a certain race or religion from the many accounts we see.
Arab and Muslims have been given stereotypical labels and have been looked upon as the monster
for many years even before the September 11th attacks. Filmafter film you see many incidents
were there is someone doing a terrorist act and people look at these and start to believe this is
how things actually are. The power the media has is unbelievable and over they years you can see
they have used there power to increase stereotypes of Arab Americans. Arabs are represented in
Hollywood as the villain, before and after 9/11 and this has contributed to the to the outlook of
Arabs and Muslims in the public sphere.
From the beginning of film making Arabs and Muslims were grouped as one by Hollywood.
This is one of first stereotypes they created. Only one fifth of Arabs in the world are Muslim,
and there are more then 20 million Christian Arabs in the world. It is obvious that Hollywood
has a huge impact on many people. In 2002 alone the total box office sales was more then 9 billion

In 1983, Pope John Paul II visited Nicaragua in response to word that a growing alliance between
priests and Marxists revolutionaries was emerging in Latin America. Historically, the Catholic
Church in Europe had taken a strong anti communist stance. And so the emerging alliance troubled
Pope John Paul II despite the fact that priests claimed they were simply doing what Christ would do

philosophical underpinnings suggest that change comes through political activism and even war
and revolution if peaceful means have failed. In addition, liberation theologians view sin as the
root of poverty and capitalism as the most ruinous form of sin on earth. Thus, Liberation
Theologists argue that capitalism should be confronted as pure evil and replaced by a more just
and equitable socialist system. The Pope unequivocally denounced these ideas as ideologically
misguided. Many Nicaraguan Catholics were disappointed with the Pope s position on political
action because they felt like he missed a chance to bolster the revolution and support much needed
change for the people. They had lived under years of tyranny and oppression at the hands of the
conservative regime. And thousands of innocent Nicaraguan citizens had suffered gross social
injustices and even death at the hands of their oppressors. If the Pope had supported their
revolutionary cause, the people would have enjoyed the backing of the Catholic Church. And if that
had occurred, it would have provided the people with a sense of spiritual support in their fight for
freedom and equality. But the Pope s denouncement of Liberation Theology and the

A recent medical ethical controversy that resurfaces every few years is the debate of abortion. The

women the choice to terminate pregnancy without requiring eminent health risks to the mother.
(n.d., 2015) The ethical debate of abortion continues even with the practice being legal.
The 2016 GOP elections are placing the debate of abortion back in the limelight. (Milligan, 2015)

Planned Parenthood videos discussing this practice has brought much exposure to this practice. The

Medical professionals that choose to work within the abortion industry are met with much
controversy and at times danger to their well being. The 1991 murder of Dr. David Gunn started
several years of murders, assaults and bombings against abortion clinics and employees. The irony
of these individuals committing murder to protest a woman s right to obtain an abortion, is
blatantly obvious. The fact that medical professionals have to fear for their safety because they are
providing a legal service to patients is ridiculous.
Whether a person would choose to obtain an abortion for themselves, does not provide them for
the right to make a decision about what another individual would choose to do. Personally I am a
Pro choice supporter and support any woman who deems that an abortion is the right decision
based on her individual circumstances. The ethical dilemma of abortion will not be disappearing

is there a personal flotation device for each passenger, to include the operator? What about alcoholic

Did anyone bring any along or had anything to drink earlier; hope not, it is illegal to drink alcoholic

Necessitating the use of life preservers is not limited to the United States; one Canadian official
fined a resident $200 for not having a life preserver aboard his boat (Ballingall, 2011). This
problem often occurs, because many people are over confident in their ability to swim away from
a mishap, or think ending up overboard only happens to other people.
Alcohol can distort an operator s ability to drive a boat as well as a car. There are many hidden
dangers in the water that require an immediate sober response, for instance, floating logs from old
boating docks often litter the waters. US Coast Guard statistics recorded three hundred eight
boating accidents which resulted in one hundred fatalities and 300 injuries in 2009 (Kelley, 2007).
Furthermore, Boating under the influence laws (BUI) are federally enforced by the US Coast
Guard (Dunlap, 2011). These laws are in force for the protection of all boaters. Another good
example of boating under the influence is it can distract from paying attention to the depth finder.

per hour this can result in a sudden stop, resulting in extensive damage to the vessel, causing
personal injury, or possibly death. Fire safety is another important

The Beatleswere one of the greatest and influential musical acts of all time. They were one of

Biblical Worldview of my Chosen Vocation
Introduction
The way we see God influences everything we do in life the way we treat each other (as individuals
being created in God s image), our stewardship of God s creation, our understanding of our
vocation as a way to glorify (Etzel and Gutierrez, p.3). If I were to choose just two examples of
how man was created in the image of God, I would have to choose integrity and moral ethics. Upon
completion of my B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis on Leadership, I will enter the
business world that requires both examples.
Integrity
Integrity is the quality of being honest and having strong moral convictions. He never sinned, nor
ever deceived anyone (New Living Translation ,1 Peter 2.22). I was made in the image of God
and he spoke the truth and kept His word. Leaders know that honesty and integrity are the
foundations of leadership. Leaders stand up for what they believe in. Leaders with integrity may
not be the most famous or flashy of leaders, and they don t care. Integrity means doing the right
thing because it is the right thing to do. Neither should we become antagonistic or agnostic to the
existence of truth. Jesus said the Word of God is truth, and that is a great starting point for us
(Etzel and Gutierrez, p.23). The book of Proverbs provides an abundance of verses on integrity.
He who walks in integrity walks securely, but he who perverts his ways will be found out
(Proverbs 10.9). A person that has integrity will have a good reputation and not have to fear that
he or she will be exposed as a person that can t be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

33. Functionalist Perspective On Divorce
Divorce is such a personal and common thing in America. There are so many couples who go
through the act of divorce every day. According to Kanewicher and Harris (2014), forty to fifty
percent of couples will end in divorce within the first few years of marriage. Divorce is the legal
dissolution of a marriageby a court or other competent body. There are many factors that may lead
couples into divorce. Some of those factors are, marrying too young, low education levels and
overall just lack of preparation (Kanewischer, 2015). Although divorce is common now, it was not
like this back in the late 1900 s. Divorce was not allowed and most of the time people did not want

In general, children from divorced families did have more behavioral problems than children from
non divorced families. They continue to struggle with the behaviors well into their adolescence
stage and into their adult stage (Weaver, 2015). It makes maintaining relationships and trusting
others difficult. There are three different theoretical perspectives. Functionalist perspective, which
emphasizes the way in which the parts of a society are structured to maintain its stability.
Functionalists see the contribution that it makes to society. The conflict perspective, assumes that
social behavior is best understood in terms of tension between groups over power or the
allocation of resources, and political representation. The interactionalist perspective, which
generalize about everyday forms of social interaction in order to explain society as a whole
(Schaefer). In the topic of divorce, it seems as if the functionalist perspective explains it well. Most
of the people get a divorce because they are unhappy within the marriage. If the couple continued to
be married it could cause more problems such as affairs, theft, depression, etc., therefore ruining the
society s stability. Both individuals would be happier and there would be fewer dysfunctional
families. Through the functionalist perspective, the idea of divorce is

34. Classical Theory Vs Strain Theory Essay
Key Characteristics
Both classical theory and strain theory are widely known and established theories that although
have similar goals are vastly difference in terms of their key characteristics. Classical theory was
developed in the 18th century during the enlightenment era and is the foundation of the classical
school of criminology (Clinard and Meier, 2008, p65 67). Classical theory is the theory that
individuals are self seeking rational actors who under their own free will commit crimes after
weighing up to pros and cons of the situation (Loughran et al. 2016, para 4; White, Haines and
Asquith, 2012, p28 31). This theory takes an individualist approach to explaining CCB that sees
individuals as rights holders who have the equal capacity to make rational choices and focuses on
the criminal act rather than the offender (White, Haines and ... Show more content on

The theory believes the most appropriate response to crime is through swift and punitive
punishment based on the pleasure pain principle and see punishment as the key mechanism to
preventing crime, arguing that if punishment is swift, just and certain both the individual
(specific deterrence) and society members (general deterrence) will be deterred from committing
crime (Akers, 1990, p654 659). Strain theory, on the other hand, is an adaption of Durkheim s
anomie theory and branches off sociological positivism (Brezina, 2011, p99 103). Strain theory is
the theory that society pressures individuals to achieve socially acceptable goals (SAG), and when
individuals cannot reach these goals due to lack of means (e.g. poverty), individuals experience a
strain and turns to crime (White, Haines and Asquith, 2012, p67 71; Walters, 2010, p316). This
theory takes a sociological approach to explaining CCB that sees social strains and inadequate
structural opportunities to blame for crime and highlights that individuals are not equal in their
capacity to make rational choices (Clinard and

uphold the group cohesion of the deployed team, and the training is more adaptable to different
types of military operations (Zamorski, Guest, Bailey, Garber, 2012).
Type of evaluation
In determining the type of evaluation used in this research, I supposed that the evaluation cannot be
formative, because there is no recommendation based on the findings (Posovac, 2011). Then, I
hesitated between the summative evaluation and the monitoring one. Firstly, the evaluation could
be summative because of the comparison between the old and the new programs, there is no
indication in the article stating that the evaluation s findings will be used to decide amongst the
two programs, and the findings could be used for accountability purposes (Posovac, 2011).
Secondly, because the new program is a refined program stemming from the quality improvement of
the old one, this could be a monitoring evaluation, since the authors only gathered the feedback to
confirm that the program was still effective (Posovac, 2011).
Purpose and focus of the evaluation
Since it is not stated in the article, I deduct that the Department of

woven plaid, and as with the real thing, where the colours intersect there is a subtle change of hue.
A modelled fringing, decorated with green, lilac, and yellow complete the shawl s decoration. A

most successful and profitable. The figures were an instant success, and over the next three
decades, he would continually produce editions by customer demand. Both these figures require
many piece moulds, and the decoration of the subject s overdress is far more elaborate than in his
previous design Lavender Girl, and in consequence the more labour intensive, and expensive to
produce. The overdress is an invention of multi coloured, vertical stripes, black, orange, yellow,
purple and green, applied in varying widths, some straight, some wavy. Not to tire the eye with this
seemingly riot of colour, the apron is unpainted and white. A critical examination reveals that the
modelling is by necessity pragmatic. Vyse has pragmatically modelled the subject arm supporting
the child into the figure s mass. Undercutting here would cause fragility of structure and the
possibility of more piece moulds. The moulded tulips, ranged around the outer edges of the basket,
minimise accidental damage from the over zealous housemaid s duster. They protect the separately
hand modelled blooms. The combination of mould cast and hand modelling conveys to the viewer
both variety and liveliness. Vyse usually supplied a wooden base to support his figures to guard
against accidental chipping and to protect the polished surface of furniture. An

WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM GENETIC ALGORITHMS?
Nearly everyone can gain benefits from Genetic Algorithms, once he can encode solutions of a
given problem to chromosomes in GA, and compare the relative performance (fitness) of solutions.
An effective GA representation and meaningful fitness evaluation are the keys of the success in GA
applications.
Gas are useful and efficient when the search space is large, complex or poorly understood,
traditional search methods fail, domain knowledge is scarce or expert knowledge is difficult to
encode to narrow the search space and no mathematical analysis is available. The advantage of the
GA approach is the ease with which it can handle arbitrary kinds of constraints and objectives; all
such things can be handled as weighted components of the fitness function, making it easy to adapt

Why does it matter he was president? Well, during that time, there was a lot of segregation in South
Africa, all of the presidents were white before Mandela. There was a huge split between whites
and blacks. White South Africans ruled the country, and black South Africans suffered
discrimination in all aspects of their lives.... South Africa adopted an official policy of racial
separation called apartheid . Mandela didn t stand for any of this, and decided to do something
about it. So whenever he got the chance he would make speeches and speak out for the way they
were getting treated. This led to Mandela s arrest, and he still kept aiming for his goal to end the
injustice even if he was in harsh conditions or not. In the end he managed to end the policy of

Don t be surprised if you have to use a little extra force to pull the tail light assembly off your
vehicle. In addition to the screws, there are pegs that keep your tail light affixed to your vehicle.
You are probably going to need to use both of your hands to pull of the tail light assembly package;
if the pegs are rusted, you may even need to use a crowbar.
Replace The Lens
Now that you have the entire tail light apparatus off of your vehicle, inspect it and make sure that
you only need to replace the lens. If the entire apparatus is damaged, you can purchase a new one
at the same used auto parts supplier where you purchased the lens.
If the rest of the unit is in good shape, all you have to do is replace the lens. You are probably
going to have to remove a few more screws that are holding the lens in place in order to remove
the old lens. Once you have removed the old lens, set the new lens in place and screw it into the
tail light assembly.
Putting It Back Together
Now that you have the lens on the tail light, you are going to need to line up the pegs and push
them back into your vehicle. Keep in mind that if you had to use some force to pull the assemble

43. Memory Consolidation Essay
In recent years, much debate and research has occurred over the process of memory
reconsolidation. Understanding the processes that underlie memory formation retrieval and storage
is key to understanding and guiding treatment for patients with conditions such as posttraumatic
stress disorder. This essay discusses the processes of consolidation and how that impacts on
reconsolidation and the implications of this knowledge on patients suffering posttraumatic stress
disorder.
Much psychological research suggests that new memories require time to stabilize and transfer to
long term memory and that these newly acquired memories are disposed to to interference by
competing stimuli. Memory consolidation is the processes involved in the stabilization of a long
term memory after it s initial acquisition (Dudai, 2004). Consolidation is described by two distinct
theories: synaptic consolidation, which transpires in the first few hours after learning and systems
learning where memories are stabilized over a period of weeks to years (Dudai, 2004).
Synaptic consolidation suggests that memory can exists in two ways, short term and long term.
Short term memories must either transfer to long term memory or be lost (Bramham Messaoudi,
2005). Synaptic consolidation occurs quickly, in the first few hours following the encoding of a
new stimulus (Bramham Messaoudi, 2005). Reverberating neural activity in closed circuits allows
memories of new experiences to be stored in the short term
