The Growth And Peak Stage Of A Business Cycle
Business cycles contain several stages which span GDP and time itself. These stages are growth, peak,
recession and a trough or depression. These cycles repeat themselves over and over through out time
in the business world. The growth and peak stage of a business cycle are when companies are building
and providing great products and services. This is also the period when jobs are most abundant and
harder to fill because job positions are in demand. After the peak stage a risky point in time follows
which is the recession stage. During this time people tend to loose their jobs and it is a much harder
time to find a job as well. The depression stage is depressing to both companies and people because
many consumers lose their jobs and can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We entered a depression period and this period lasted longer then some of the other periods in our
history. Many economists wonder why a recovery, which leads out of the depression and into the
growth stage, took longer then normal to begin. When looking back at history, I may have found the
answer. Big spending is required to make companies produce more and the biggest factor of spending
money is war. This paper will examine a close relation in our history of recession, war, and recovery.
Since 1950, there have been many recessions in the US, which greatly affected all Americans. At the
same time there have been innovations, technology, banking changes and political activities which
have been thought to have caused the recessions, and ultimately fixed the recessions. We will explore
a potential relationship between recovery and war as to the potential for speeding up a recovery. Not
too long ago, during the Great Recession of 2007 2009, employment had peaked in the first part of
2008 and then it declined. According to McConnell (2015), In the first part of 2010 job growth was
very slow to recover and economists have been vigorously debating why employment recovered so
slowly after the Great Recession of 2007 2009. The Great Recession began December 2007 and ended
in June 2009 (p.18). Banks had loaned excessive amounts of money to consumers

Afghanist The Struggle Of The Taliban
Afghanistan is a very unstable country. It struggles socially, economically and politically. A big reason
why they struggle is the Taliban taking over their country and not letting them have their freedom. The
Taliban doesn t let women go outside without covering their faces with a burqa and without a male
escort. There are many other reasons but I believe that Afghanistan struggles so much because of lack
of education and having an unstable government.
Afghanistan has struggled so much socially because of their lack of education. After the Soviets left,
the Afghans wanted to keep shooting at something so they decided to shoot at each other (The
Breadwinner.) With an education, they would realize that killing people of your own kind is not

Quality Time Redefined Analysis
In today s society with cell phones, television, internet, and social media, it is very difficult to stay
connected. Our ability to stay balanced in a society with technology exponentially improving will
benefit us when connecting to more things that are real and in the moment. The idea is not to become
completely disconnected with the tech space, but rather to connect and be involved with life outside of
technology as well. The point is to become more involved with family and quality time. Yes, we can
still be connected with technology; however, if we take time to disconnect we can understand what is
really going on in our society. Technology is universal no matter where we go, one use it every day if

One just does whatever technology wants them to. For instance you have an iPhone 5 and it perfectly
fine, but just because the iPhone 6 comes out you have to get it. People are oblivious to the negative
effects of technology. Technology does has its benefits but look at the long term effects: the human
race is growing thoughtless with each generation because of the internet and not have real connections
with people. Andrews states, Most people have no idea how much information is collected
surreptitiously about them from social networks and other websites (Andrews 713). With most sites
that one has to make an account in, it usually asks for both first and last name, email including a
conformation within the email, sometimes credit card number, and even sometimes your address. That
right there is enough information to steal someone s identity. People aren t realizing actually how
much information the internet knows about them. The more advanced we get in technology the lazier
people become. More and more children would rather stay inside and play video games than go
outside to play. Our communication is getting to the point where people barley have face to face
conversations without being distracted by an electronic device. According to Williams, Even before
iPads, there was evidence that Web centric home life might not, in fact, be eating away at family unity

Differences Between Britain And India
To answer the question, it is important to understand the various factors that affected control and
differences between India and Britain. Did Britain control all of India, sections of India around the
early 18th century were controlled by other european powers such as France, portugal and Spain.
France had established control over Yanam and Karakal on the east coast. Whereas portugal s
territories were limited to Goa, Daman and Diu around the mid 18th century. In addition, after these
forces were expelled from India the British empire did not have complete dominion over India. By
1857 Britain had direct control over most of India. Britain had undergone an industrial revolution
during the 1760s which allowed them to modernise more efficiently. ... Show more content on

An Overview On The Investment Services Industry
Industry Information and Overview:
The investment services industry is one of the fastest paced and rapidly evolving sectors of the
economy. The industry is highly dependent on the state of the economy and is highly cyclical. In 2000
when established firms in the industry began to tap the potential of the Internet, trading volumes
crashed in what is now termed the Dot Com bubble. In 2002 when it seemed that innovative
technology and telecommunications companies would continuously improve business productivity,
the technology and telecom sectors crashed. More recently, just when the industry thought it figured
out how to rig the mortgage market to secure record profits with little to no risk, the entire mortgage
market crashed and created a liquidity crisis and a recession that would be later described as the Great
Recession. Investment services firms have learned time and time again that they still must contend
with an inevitable cycle of boom and bust.
The primary functions of an Investment Bank:
Raising Capital and Security Underwriting: One function of an Investment Bank is to package and
issue securities for sale to clients, companies or the general public. An investment bank would for
example facilitate the sale of shares of a previously private company that would like to go public and

The Bible As Tool For Guide Them Throughout Their...
In the Seventh day Adventist church uses the Bible as tool to guide them throughout their Christian
lives. The Bible teaches beliefs that the Christian are expected to follow and apply to their lives. Along
with following these beliefs, Christians are expected to teach these beliefs as well, so that future
generations may carry them out and be a positive example of the church. One the beliefs is the trinity.
In Ephesians 4:4 6 it is written that There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one
hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism: one God and Father of all, who is over
all and through all and in all . There is one God, who in Himself is the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit;
the unity of the three; Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one (Deuteronomy 6:4). The
trinity is God, who is immortal, all knowing, and above all. God is all powerful, love, worth of our
worship, ever present, and who created everything. In 2 Corinthians 13:14 May the grace of the Lord
Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all , explaining
that the trinity, who carries multiple characteristics, is with us to guide us. Another belief is the
creation. In Isaiah 45: 18 it is written that For this is what the Lord says he who created the heaves, he
is God; he would fashion and made the earth; he who fashioned and made the earth, he founded it; he
did not create it to be empty, but formed it to be inhabited

Sushi And Hibachi, Roseville, Minnesota
Osaka Sushi and Hibachi, Roseville, Minnesota, 5PM. Feeling a bit nauseous, nervous, walking up to
the entrance of the restaurant, mother and grandmother a few steps in front of me. Today was the day,
I waited three months for, the day in which I get to try Japanese cuisine. What should be expected?
What if it tastes less than desirable? Will my etiquette be correct? I prepared and researched several
hours in advance regarding this. Once inside the restaurant, following closely, the three of us were
seated at an interesting table; like none of other restaurants in the area. A large, open, flat topped stove
stands in the center, behind it, a chef stands, smiling as we sit down and open the thick menu of food
items. Scanning the chef, noting his tall white hat, his crisply clean white apron, black uniform,
posture, it s not difficult to tell that he had been an employee for a significant amount of time.
Flipping through the menu, it was apparent the variety of sushi, sashimi and nigiri was overwhelming.
Luckily enough, my mother and grandmother came into this with a plan. Initially we ordered our
drinks, personally I ordered a Japanese soda, and when it was brought to the table I was surprised by
the appearance of the bottle alone. A rather curved glass overall, the bottom portion was similar to that
of other bottles of soda made from glass, but your eye drew upward. The similarity to the shape of the
number eight, a marble perched between this pinched area and that of the

Theories Of Scientific Management Theory And Human...
Executive Summary
The National Institute of Personnel Management (NIPM) of India defined human resource
management as that part of management which is concerned with people at work and with their
relationship within an enterprise. Its aim is to bring together and develop into an effective organization
of the men and women who make up an enterprise and having regard for the well being of the
individuals and of working groups, to enable them to make their best contribution to its success.
Human resource management always seeks the best theory to fulfill their intent in managing the
human resource. Some of the famous theories are scientific management theory and behavioral
management theory.
Scientific management theory is the starting point where people start to think scientifically. They do

it is not only about the number and quantitative things. We need something that we called qualitative
thing which can support the quantitative thing. We cannot ignore that the satisfaction of employee can
affect the productivity. That is why, scientific management theory and behavioral management should

Views Of John Calvinism
The inevitable spilt of Western Christianity thus created two different and unique forms of the
religion, Catholicism and Protestantism. In an effort to reform, many great individuals and
perspectives stepped up in order to cast their beliefs and interpretations of the Christian Bible unto the
world. Among the many individuals was French theologian John Calvin (1509 1564). This is the most
unique form of Protestantism due to its dark perceptions of human nature, strict followings of the
Bible, and drastic change in the religious political system. While many forms of Protestantism believe
in the goodness of God and the goodness of human beings, Calvin s view is much darker and does not
put a positive spin on the nature of the people. While people saw themselves as sinful, ... Show more

Calvin decided that there would be no ministers, which is a crucial aspect in former Protestantism.
This practice threatened their highly democratic, religious political system at the time, and because of
this many believers of Calvinism were forced into exile. (Molloy, 375) But because of this exile,
Calvinism made its was throughout Europe, and eventually the United States, Asia, and sub Sahara
Africa. If Calvin were the only one to have these interpretations, than the spread of Calvinism, and
eventually Presbyterianism, would not have been as great. Although Calvinism appears to be
somewhat out there and strange compared to some of the other reforms, I think they most definitely
have the same goal in mind, and that is to learn about God from the Bible and do their best to worship
and satisfy Him. If I were to live back in this era, I would not choose to follow Calvinism because I
disagree with some of Calvin s interpretations of the Bible, such as the organ less congregational
singing and the use of symbols and

Agency Costs and Financial Decision-Making
Agency Costs and Financial Decision Making
The Concept
An agency relationship is a contract under which one or more persons (the principal(s)) engage
another person (the agent) to perform some service on their behalf which involves delegating some
decision making authority to the agent. If both parties to the relationship are utility maximizers and
they may have divergent goals and objectives, and there is good reason to believe that the agent will
not always act in the best interests of the principal (Jensen, Michael C., and William H. Meckling.

In the majority of large publicly traded corporations, agency conflicts are potentially quite significant
because the firm s managers generally own only a small percentage of the common stock. Therefore,
shareholder wealth maximization could be subordinated to an assortment of other managerial goals.
For instance, managers may have a fundamental objective of maximizing the size of the firm. By
creating a large, rapidly growing firm, executives increase their own status, create more opportunities
for lower and middle level managers and salaries, and enhance their job security because an
unfriendly takeover is less likely. As a result, incumbent management may pursue diversification at
the expense of the shareholders who can easily diversify their individual portfolios simply by buying
shares in other companies. (http://www.referenceforbusiness.com/encyclopedia/AAr/Agency
Theory.html#ixzz14WVaUW4g)
Managers can be encouraged to act in the stockholders best interests through incentives, constraints,
and punishments. These methods, however, are effective only if shareholders can observe all of the
actions taken by managers. A moral hazard problem, whereby agents take unobserved actions in their
own self interests, originates because it is infeasible for shareholders to monitor all managerial
actions. To reduce the moral hazard problem, stockholders must incur agency costs.

Investigating The Detection Limit And The Concentration Of...
In the following experiment, fluorescence methods and techniques will be used to determine the
detection limit and the concentration of quinine in tonic water. As shown in the graph of the quinine
standard samples, the concentration was on average was 350 ppm. This concentration is incorrect,
since it did not factor in the max emission and the emission at smaller concentrations. Despite the
error in the calibration data, the pH data was able to be observed and assesse the relationship of pH to
emission. As the pH increase the emission decreased, which showed that there was minimal
concentration quenching. The detection limit of the fluorimeter was calculated using the data from the
calibration. Meaning that there will be slight error within the calculations. It was determined to by
approximately 3 ppm. Introduction: Fluorescence spectroscopy, like all spectroscopic methods and
instruments, involves the excitation of a sample and the measure of the sample s response to such
excitation. However, the response measured varies from what is needed to be analysis and the
instrument used. For fluorescence, the sample is excited at a certain wavelength. This excitation
causes the molecule to jump energy levels, from the ground to the excited state as shown in the figure
below:
Figure 11. As shown, fluorescence is characterized by the path the molecule takes returning to the
ground state. As the molecule loses energy from the excited state; it falls back to the ground in steps.

I attended the University of Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra and Symphonic Wind Ensemble concert
on Thursday, October 8. The concert was located at the Ruth Lily Performance Hall in the Christel
DeHaan Fine Arts Center. The venue was calming and comfortable. It is a very nice set up, but not
extremely fancy. People arrived in anything ranging from suits and dresses to jeans and t shirts. The
environment was welcoming and approachable for all the guests. I was able to see almost all of the
parts of the stage and all the members of each group. Noise levels throughout the concert were very
low. The only thing that would ve have been nice is if they could have dimmed the audience lights to
create a better mood. The lights in the auditorium just seemed to be very bright at times. During the
Chamber Orchestra and Symphonic Wind Ensemble all the performers were wearing all black. I
imagine they did this for style and consistency. By wearing all the same color, it helps them look

Nutritional Assessment Paper
2. Identify the categories important for a total nutritional assessment. The total assessment includes
the anthropometric data, biochemical data, clinical data and the dietary data. Firstly, the
anthropometric data consists of the height, weight, ideal body weight and body mass index. Perform a
skinfold measurement to determine fat stores. You can measure the most common site (triceps)
skinfold by utilizing a special caliper that measures in millimeters. First, locate the midpoint which is
halfway between the acromion process and the olecranon process, then pinch the skin vertically along
the axis of the humerus. Place the caliper 1 cm below your finger to measure the thickness of the fold

I didn t know at first that there were two languages in...
I didn t know at first that there were two languages in Canada. I just thought that there was one way to
speak to my father and another to speak to my mother. Louis St. Laurent. As the second French
Canadian prime minister of Canada, Louis St. Laurent had a very influential role to Canada. St
Laurent became prime minister in 1948, after a selection authorized by a Liberal Convention. He was
a well respected prime minister and was given the name Uncle Louis for reshaping and improving
Canada as an international well known country. Actions and policies, including the Trans Canada
Highway Act, the joining of Newfoundland and the St. Lawrence Seaway, were introduced by St
Laurent to impact Canada into a more developed country with a ... Show more content on

The Trans Canada highway was an important achievement for Canada and Louis St. Laurent s prime
minister career that was hugely beneficial for Canada due to its impact on the economy and the
convenience that was contributed by this amazing construction.
In order to build the Trans Canada highway, Newfoundland s decision to join Canada as one of the
marine provinces can be viewed as extremely meaningful. Newfoundland became part of Canada on
April 1st, 1949, and the following will be Louis St. Laurent s speech addressing on the entry of
Newfoundland into Confederation, representing Canada and on the behalf of the other nine provinces:
Newfoundland is in the very centre of the North Atlantic Community. Canada as a whole occupies a
large part of the North Atlantic area. The nations of that whole area will be more secure in the new
North Atlantic association. In the same way, Canada and Newfoundland will have greater security in
being bound together in federal union. From today all Canadians, old and new, will work as one to
preserve peace and to win security. And in a world where free people can work in security and peace,
the opportunities for the enlarged Canada, with its ten provinces, are immense. But while there is yet
room for improvement, there is no country in the world where that improvement is more possible, or
indeed, more certain. The wealth of Canada is

Spina Bifida Disorder
Spina Bifida Spina Bifida literally means split spine . It is the most common permanent disabling birth
defect in the United States. It happens when the brain, spinal cord do not completely develop. It is the
most common neural tube defect in the United States affecting 1500 to 2000 of more than four million
babies in each year. An estimate shows 166,000 individual lives with Spina Bifida in the United
States. I choose this disorder because many people do not about the effects, causes, symptoms and
treatments about the disorder and I wanted to know more about spina bifida. Symptoms: Symptoms of

The prevalence went down from Oct 1998 to Dec 1999 was 2.02 per 10,000 live births. It reduced by
22.9% (Mark, 2016). Later in the years from 1999 2000 and 2003 2005, the prevalence of spina bifida
falls by 6.9%. The reason of the decrease is still unknown. This decreases the prevalence of spina
bifida with black population, but not within the white or Hispanic population. Those frequencies about
spina bifida had been evaluated toward 1 2 cases for every 1000 population, with certain population
hosting a greater frequency based on genetic predilection. Research showed folate can reduce spina
bifida by 70% and decrease the severity of the disease. Myelomeningocele is the most common form
of spina bifida. In the United States, approximately 1500 babies are born with myelomeningocele each
year (Mark, 2016). The myelomeningocele and other neural tube defect had been declined since 20th
century. According to CDC, the prevalence of spina bifida is higher in white and Hispanic population,
than in the black population. According to Mark, spina bifida is detected 2 and 1.96 per in 10,000 live
birth in Hispanic and white population and 1.74 per 10,000 live birth in black

How Does Saving Affect The Economy
CHAPTER 1
AN INTRODUCTION TO RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
1.1 Statement of the Research Problem
Consumption and saving play an important role in the world economy and what determines
consumption and saving is income. As Keynes pointed out, When individuals are saving their money,
they are actually hurting the economy because saving reduces aggregate demand and thus reduces
company revenue . From this study, it is seen that one s expenditure becomes another s income. On the
other hand, saving is also important because of future consumption which has to be maintained for
meeting any kind of emergency or to be able to face any level of risks and uncertainties. For this very
reason precautionary saving has become very essential for migrants since migrants face higher risks
and uncertainties than the local people who do not have to worry so much about their future.
In today s scenario, the study shows that with increase in migration, there is an increase in the total
spending within the economy which leads to an increase in the supply of labour and increase in
demand. Therefore, an increase in spending within the economy brings about an increase in the GDP.
Generally individuals or households look at the prices of the products and the quality before making a
purchase because price of commodities determines their consumption behaviour. How much they save
depends on how much they earn and how much they consume. Consumption and saving behaviour
differ from place to place. A person

Rosalie Metaphors
The way this book is written tricks me up sometimes because it goes from talking in past tense to the
quotes being in present tense and she also refers to the readers. It was strange to read at first, but once
I got the hang of it the book was made more enjoyable because of it. Matilda seems to be in the
background the whole time. She is present, but in the background. She seems to like to keep to herself
and listened to her sister when Rosalie was around, but never makes large impressions on Agnes.
Rosalie on the other hand makes that huge impression, when she turns back and gives Agnes that hug.
I almost forgave her for messing with all those boys. It showed to me that deep inside she does have a
heart and cared about people. Then when Agnes gets that letter from Rosalie I realized that she was
always going to be a little bit of a brat. She, what I took as, whined for Agnes to come and visit her.
Then she went on to tall Agnes about her charming child. I feel bad that her husband does not like that
it was a girl, but technically it was his fault. I feel bad for that child though. She is going to have to
grow up with a brat of a mother and probably become a brat herself because of it. ... Show more

It broke my heart to read it. I hate it when people die in books and movies. Then what Mr. Murray said
made it even worse because he was so blunt. He was of course correct, but still have a little sympathy.
Then my heart shattered when she got to the house and he was died. I felt so bad for Agnes and her
family. It made me want to cry. Then when they were talking about money it made me feel horrible for
them. I was proud of Agnes s mother for standing up to her father though. That man deserved it.
Nobody should turn away family just because of who they marry. I get that it was improper and
scandalous of her to marry Agnes s father, but she was your daughter old man get over

My Personal Narrative
My personal narrative
It was a normal summer morning, the sun came up, and I woke up and got ready for the day, but it
wouldn t be any normal summer day. It all started when the same summer morning, when my dad
asked, Hey Gavin, you want to go to the Makers Fair at Union Station? I didn t know what he was
talking about, so I asked him a few questions about what the makers fair was. He told me that it was a
fair where people made products and technology. My dad stated, I wouldn t ask you if I didn t think
you would like it. I was sure whether to say yes or no. It sounded cool because I has an interest, but I
was a little worried that I would let my hopes up too high and be upset when it turned out to not be as
good as I expected. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I was amazed at the fact that this kind of technology was at the fair, yet I was a little hesitant about
going to it first. If I knew that there was stuff this interesting at it, I would have been the one asking to
go there. Believe it or not, this wouldn t be the most interesting thing I would see that day.
After exploring for a while, my parents and I moved on to the next section. One of the most interesting
things we saw was a rover made by students from the University of Missouri Science and Technology.
A rover is a remote controlled robot on wheels designed to help humans complete certain tasks.
Rovers have many different designs. This rover had six black wheels that were very flimsy. Above the
wheels was a rectangular compartment that held the computers and power supply. The was also a pole
with a camera on top, not a typical camera, but a small rectangular cube with flat lenses. I also a
robotic arm on the front of the rover used to pick up move objects. Since it had a similar design to the
rovers that NASA has sent to Mars, I became interested in it since I was passionate about space travel.
I examined the rover for a while, and then one of the students, noticing how I was interested in the
rover came over, and asked: Do you have any questions?
Wanting to continue my observations without being interrupted, I said, I don t have any questions right
now. However, I heard my mom and talking

Student affairs is the unit at a higher education institution that typically provides support and services
for students on campus. Growth and development are focus areas and students are encouraged to turn

Texas at Austin s Division of Student Affairs. It will also review its mission, position on assessment
and diversity, essential competencies, organization frames and archetypes, and applicable
development theories.

Speech On Becoming An Adult
When asked the question When do you become an adult? many people would give an age but in
reality the answer isn t that easy. To me adulthood is when you are able and willing to accept
responsibility. If you cannot or will not be responsible, you have no right calling yourself an adult.
What does make you a grown up? Is it moving out of the house? Hitting a certain age? Having a
relationship? Getting a job? How is it that we can do. those things, that we consider to be adult , but
we still feel like kids? Or that we feel like grown ups, we re certainly old enough, but we haven t.
seemed to have accomplished any of those things grown ups have done? People never seem to quite
understand the meaning of being an adult. It has always seemed to me that age is irrelevant. You can
be 12 and understand things better than a 30 year old or you can be 40, have two PhD s and still
wonder if pigeons are migratory birds . Many people my age think that getting out of ... Show more

Why Is Elementary School So Important To Me
My elementary school years, to me, and I think a lot of people could agree with that. I have literally
zero good memories from my grade school years. The only things that comes to mind when i even
think of elementary school are upset teachers, disappointing grades, and terribly mean students. I was
a˜ very hyper active child but a lot of teachers mistakened my hyperness for a bad apple. This led to a
lot of phone calls home, letters to my mom, and my desk being seated next to or in front of my
teacher. It was horrible, to have a teacher scold you over and over for doing something you are not in
control of. There were a lot of recess missed and lot of things written 50 to 100 times. It was almost
depressing. If it weren t for my incredible imagination ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I remember one recess I nearly broke my fingers trying to write I will be quiet in class 50 times just to
go out and play with the other kids. But because of my AdHd I failed and missed it. It almost killed
my spirit to see everyone play and even kids that that had to do the same assignment were finishing
before me. When Second grade came I had went to two schools. The first one was a catholic school
that I hated and still hate now. They didn t have a cafeteria and most importantly they didn t have a
playscape. They made me wear some stupid dress code that i wouldn t mind much today but back then
I had a burning passion of furry against wearing the white collars and snap on ties that simulated the
exact feeling of being slowly choked by an angry toddler. And if that wasn t enough, because it was a
catholic school my teacher was a mean pric. It wasn t just her actions, it also was how she looked. I
mean like I know that not everyone loves their job but emulating how much you don t like it doesn t
help. Especially if your job is teaching a class of 2nd graders. But to top it off, we had to go to this
boring church that was right next to the school and give money every time we

Preoperative Glycemic Control
Diabetes is a chronic illness, if not managed adequately puts surgical patients at a greater risk of
cardiopulmonary complications and suboptimal outcome. Hence, thorough preoperative assessment
and evaluation including optimal preoperative glycemic control is key in cardiopulmonary risk
assessment and stratification. The complex correlation between surgery, anesthesia, and impaired
glucose can lead to complication such as impaired wound healing, infection, increased length of stay,

The purpose was to identify if preoperative medium term (60 90 days) glycemic control, as reflected
by HbA1c is a pre cursor to developing mediastinitis, perioperative infarction, heart failure, stroke and
kidney failure dialysis? (Santos, et al., 2015, p. 280). The study used a prospective design with a
stratified sampling plan and enrolled 170 patients for a period of two years. This research study was
thorough with a domain of preventing post CABG complications through adequate preoperative
glycemic control. In that, it provided evidence on the impacts of suboptimal glycemic control in
relation to complications as well as increased length of stay. The validity of the study is recognized in
the ways the data was randomized and compared with the controlled group, although it was limited to
cardiac surgeries only. Thus, adding an extra layer of understanding on the importance of optimal
glycemic control in the preoperative area. The study provided evidence that can be used as a guide to

  • 2. The Growth And Peak Stage Of A Business Cycle Business cycles contain several stages which span GDP and time itself. These stages are growth, peak, recession and a trough or depression. These cycles repeat themselves over and over through out time in the business world. The growth and peak stage of a business cycle are when companies are building and providing great products and services. This is also the period when jobs are most abundant and harder to fill because job positions are in demand. After the peak stage a risky point in time follows which is the recession stage. During this time people tend to loose their jobs and it is a much harder time to find a job as well. The depression stage is depressing to both companies and people because many consumers lose their jobs and can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We entered a depression period and this period lasted longer then some of the other periods in our history. Many economists wonder why a recovery, which leads out of the depression and into the growth stage, took longer then normal to begin. When looking back at history, I may have found the answer. Big spending is required to make companies produce more and the biggest factor of spending money is war. This paper will examine a close relation in our history of recession, war, and recovery. Since 1950, there have been many recessions in the US, which greatly affected all Americans. At the same time there have been innovations, technology, banking changes and political activities which have been thought to have caused the recessions, and ultimately fixed the recessions. We will explore a potential relationship between recovery and war as to the potential for speeding up a recovery. Not too long ago, during the Great Recession of 2007 2009, employment had peaked in the first part of 2008 and then it declined. According to McConnell (2015), In the first part of 2010 job growth was very slow to recover and economists have been vigorously debating why employment recovered so slowly after the Great Recession of 2007 2009. The Great Recession began December 2007 and ended in June 2009 (p.18). Banks had loaned excessive amounts of money to consumers ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A big reason why they struggle is the Taliban taking over their country and not letting them have their freedom. The Taliban doesn t let women go outside without covering their faces with a burqa and without a male escort. There are many other reasons but I believe that Afghanistan struggles so much because of lack of education and having an unstable government. • 5. Quality Time Redefined Analysis In today s society with cell phones, television, internet, and social media, it is very difficult to stay connected. Our ability to stay balanced in a society with technology exponentially improving will benefit us when connecting to more things that are real and in the moment. The idea is not to become completely disconnected with the tech space, but rather to connect and be involved with life outside of technology as well. The point is to become more involved with family and quality time. Yes, we can still be connected with technology; however, if we take time to disconnect we can understand what is really going on in our society. Technology is universal no matter where we go, one use it every day if its traffic lights, bikes, phones, cars, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One just does whatever technology wants them to. For instance you have an iPhone 5 and it perfectly fine, but just because the iPhone 6 comes out you have to get it. People are oblivious to the negative effects of technology. Technology does has its benefits but look at the long term effects: the human race is growing thoughtless with each generation because of the internet and not have real connections with people. Andrews states, Most people have no idea how much information is collected surreptitiously about them from social networks and other websites (Andrews 713). With most sites that one has to make an account in, it usually asks for both first and last name, email including a conformation within the email, sometimes credit card number, and even sometimes your address. That right there is enough information to steal someone s identity. People aren t realizing actually how much information the internet knows about them. The more advanced we get in technology the lazier people become. More and more children would rather stay inside and play video games than go outside to play. Our communication is getting to the point where people barley have face to face conversations without being distracted by an electronic device. According to Williams, Even before iPads, there was evidence that Web centric home life might not, in fact, be eating away at family unity (Williams ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. An Overview On The Investment Services Industry Industry Information and Overview: The investment services industry is one of the fastest paced and rapidly evolving sectors of the economy. The industry is highly dependent on the state of the economy and is highly cyclical. In 2000 when established firms in the industry began to tap the potential of the Internet, trading volumes crashed in what is now termed the Dot Com bubble. In 2002 when it seemed that innovative technology and telecommunications companies would continuously improve business productivity, the technology and telecom sectors crashed. More recently, just when the industry thought it figured out how to rig the mortgage market to secure record profits with little to no risk, the entire mortgage market crashed and created a liquidity crisis and a recession that would be later described as the Great Recession. Investment services firms have learned time and time again that they still must contend with an inevitable cycle of boom and bust. • 12. The Bible As Tool For Guide Them Throughout Their... In the Seventh day Adventist church uses the Bible as tool to guide them throughout their Christian lives. The Bible teaches beliefs that the Christian are expected to follow and apply to their lives. Along with following these beliefs, Christians are expected to teach these beliefs as well, so that future generations may carry them out and be a positive example of the church. One the beliefs is the trinity. In Ephesians 4:4 6 it is written that There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism: one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all . There is one God, who in Himself is the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; the unity of the three; Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one (Deuteronomy 6:4). The trinity is God, who is immortal, all knowing, and above all. God is all powerful, love, worth of our worship, ever present, and who created everything. In 2 Corinthians 13:14 May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all , explaining that the trinity, who carries multiple characteristics, is with us to guide us. Another belief is the creation. In Isaiah 45: 18 it is written that For this is what the Lord says he who created the heaves, he is God; he would fashion and made the earth; he who fashioned and made the earth, he founded it; he did not create it to be empty, but formed it to be inhabited ... Feeling a bit nauseous, nervous, walking up to the entrance of the restaurant, mother and grandmother a few steps in front of me. Today was the day, I waited three months for, the day in which I get to try Japanese cuisine. What should be expected? What if it tastes less than desirable? Will my etiquette be correct? I prepared and researched several hours in advance regarding this. Once inside the restaurant, following closely, the three of us were seated at an interesting table; like none of other restaurants in the area. A large, open, flat topped stove stands in the center, behind it, a chef stands, smiling as we sit down and open the thick menu of food items. Scanning the chef, noting his tall white hat, his crisply clean white apron, black uniform, posture, it s not difficult to tell that he had been an employee for a significant amount of time. Flipping through the menu, it was apparent the variety of sushi, sashimi and nigiri was overwhelming. Luckily enough, my mother and grandmother came into this with a plan. Initially we ordered our drinks, personally I ordered a Japanese soda, and when it was brought to the table I was surprised by the appearance of the bottle alone. A rather curved glass overall, the bottom portion was similar to that of other bottles of soda made from glass, but your eye drew upward. • 16. Views Of John Calvinism The inevitable spilt of Western Christianity thus created two different and unique forms of the religion, Catholicism and Protestantism. In an effort to reform, many great individuals and perspectives stepped up in order to cast their beliefs and interpretations of the Christian Bible unto the world. Among the many individuals was French theologian John Calvin (1509 1564). This is the most unique form of Protestantism due to its dark perceptions of human nature, strict followings of the Bible, and drastic change in the religious political system. While many forms of Protestantism believe in the goodness of God and the goodness of human beings, Calvin s view is much darker and does not put a positive spin on the nature of the people. While people saw themselves as sinful, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Calvin decided that there would be no ministers, which is a crucial aspect in former Protestantism. This practice threatened their highly democratic, religious political system at the time, and because of this many believers of Calvinism were forced into exile. (Molloy, 375) But because of this exile, Calvinism made its was throughout Europe, and eventually the United States, Asia, and sub Sahara Africa. If Calvin were the only one to have these interpretations, than the spread of Calvinism, and eventually Presbyterianism, would not have been as great. Although Calvinism appears to be somewhat out there and strange compared to some of the other reforms, I think they most definitely have the same goal in mind, and that is to learn about God from the Bible and do their best to worship and satisfy Him. If I were to live back in this era, I would not choose to follow Calvinism because I disagree with some of Calvin s interpretations of the Bible, such as the organ less congregational singing and the use of symbols and ... Agency Costs and Financial Decision-Making Agency Costs and Financial Decision Making The Concept An agency relationship is a contract under which one or more persons (the principal(s)) engage another person (the agent) to perform some service on their behalf which involves delegating some decision making authority to the agent. If both parties to the relationship are utility maximizers and they may have divergent goals and objectives, and there is good reason to believe that the agent will not always act in the best interests of the principal (Jensen, Michael C., and William H. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Berlin: Springer Verlag, 1987.) In the majority of large publicly traded corporations, agency conflicts are potentially quite significant because the firm s managers generally own only a small percentage of the common stock. Therefore, shareholder wealth maximization could be subordinated to an assortment of other managerial goals. For instance, managers may have a fundamental objective of maximizing the size of the firm. By creating a large, rapidly growing firm, executives increase their own status, create more opportunities for lower and middle level managers and salaries, and enhance their job security because an unfriendly takeover is less likely. As a result, incumbent management may pursue diversification at the expense of the shareholders who can easily diversify their individual portfolios simply by buying shares in other companies. (http://www.referenceforbusiness.com/encyclopedia/AAr/Agency Theory.html#ixzz14WVaUW4g) Managers can be encouraged to act in the stockholders best interests through incentives, constraints, and punishments. These methods, however, are effective only if shareholders can observe all of the actions taken by managers. A moral hazard problem, whereby agents take unobserved actions in their own self interests, originates because it is infeasible for shareholders to monitor all managerial actions. To reduce the moral hazard problem, stockholders must incur agency costs. Measuring Agency ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the following experiment, fluorescence methods and techniques will be used to determine the detection limit and the concentration of quinine in tonic water. As shown in the graph of the quinine standard samples, the concentration was on average was 350 ppm. This concentration is incorrect, since it did not factor in the max emission and the emission at smaller concentrations. Despite the error in the calibration data, the pH data was able to be observed and assesse the relationship of pH to emission. As the pH increase the emission decreased, which showed that there was minimal concentration quenching. The detection limit of the fluorimeter was calculated using the data from the calibration. Meaning that there will be slight error within the calculations. It was determined to by approximately 3 ppm. Introduction: Fluorescence spectroscopy, like all spectroscopic methods and instruments, involves the excitation of a sample and the measure of the sample s response to such excitation. However, the response measured varies from what is needed to be analysis and the instrument used. For fluorescence, the sample is excited at a certain wavelength. This excitation causes the molecule to jump energy levels, from the ground to the excited state as shown in the figure below: Figure 11. As shown, fluorescence is characterized by the path the molecule takes returning to the ground state. As the molecule loses energy from the excited state; it falls back to the ground in steps. ... • 28. How Does Saving Affect The Economy CHAPTER 1 AN INTRODUCTION TO RESEARCH METHODOLOGY 1.1 Statement of the Research Problem Consumption and saving play an important role in the world economy and what determines consumption and saving is income. As Keynes pointed out, When individuals are saving their money, they are actually hurting the economy because saving reduces aggregate demand and thus reduces company revenue . From this study, it is seen that one s expenditure becomes another s income. On the other hand, saving is also important because of future consumption which has to be maintained for meeting any kind of emergency or to be able to face any level of risks and uncertainties. For this very reason precautionary saving has become very essential for migrants since migrants face higher risks and uncertainties than the local people who do not have to worry so much about their future. In today s scenario, the study shows that with increase in migration, there is an increase in the total spending within the economy which leads to an increase in the supply of labour and increase in demand. Therefore, an increase in spending within the economy brings about an increase in the GDP. Generally individuals or households look at the prices of the products and the quality before making a purchase because price of commodities determines their consumption behaviour. How much they save depends on how much they earn and how much they consume. Consumption and saving behaviour differ from place to place. A person ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
