Execution Of Justice Analysis
The Ohio State University Theatre Department s performance of Execution of Justice, by Emily
Mann, was performed ten times between April 4th and April 10th, 2018. It was directed by Tom
Dugdale, this play is a dramatic retelling of the trial of The People vs Daniel James White of the
killings of former Mayor of San Francisco, George Moscone, and former City Supervisor, Harvey
Milk in November of 1978. The play uses actual transcripts from the trial and brings in voices of
people who would not have been in the courtroom, but whose voices should have been heard. I
believe this play was a success in its performance and directing and technical aspects. It made me
sympathize with the prosecuting attorney and want to know more about what happened and why
Dan White only received two manslaughter charges instead of the two first degree murder charges
I came to believe he deserved. A very impressive performance by Ohio State senior, McKenna
Willis, who... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Dan White appeared alone center stage in his own lighting with the rest of the stage dark on the
raised platform speaking to the audience, saying that he just wanted to do a good job for the city.
I found this moment to be very strong because it felt lonely for him and it showed physically and
metaphorically that he would have been alone in receiving his sentencing and in saying that he
wanted to do a good job and that he was a lonely vote on the board, it reflected his words. After
his final line the lights cut out and into a jagged pattern across the stage, and the the words
Execution of Justice appeared in large font across the back wall. This was really cool, especially
with the music in the background because it all seemed to blend together, I could see the
collaboration that would have occurred between media, sound and lighting very clearly in these
final cues. The collaboration notable in the piece as a whole was very

Cardiac Output ( Co )
Cardiac Output (CO) is defined as the volume of blood pumped out by the heart, specifically by
the left and right ventricle, per unit time (usually in 1 minute). It is the product of Stroke Volume
(SV) and Heart Rate (HR) [1].
CO = SV x HR
Jessica s pre exercise cardiac output can therefore be calculated as 70ml x 70bpm = 4900ml/min
or 4.9L/min, whilst her post exercise cardiac output is 110ml x 130bpm = 14.3L/min. In an adult
at rest, the average cardiac output is 4.9L/min for a human female and 5.6L/min for a male [2].
Throughout normal life, however, cardiac output can vary continuously depending on the
metabolic demands of the body. As seen with Jessica, cardiac output may be raised during exercise,
and may also be reduced, for example in sleep [3].
Stroke volume is the amount of blood pumped out from a ventricle in one heartbeat, and is
dependent on several factors such as heart size, contraction duration, contractility, preload, and
afterload [1]. Stroke volume can be calculated as the difference between the volume of blood in the
ventricle just before a heartbeat (end diastolic volume; EDV) and the volume following contraction
(end systolic volume; ESV) [4].
SV = EDV ESV
Average stroke volume is around 70ml (in a healthy 70kg man; with approximately 120ml and
50ml measurements for EDV and ESV, respectively) [4]. Jessica s stroke volume is also 70ml,
which increases (as expected) to 110ml following exercise, achieved by a drop in ESV due to a
more complete emptying

Violent Video Games Do Not Cause Gun Violence
The killings in Marshall County High School, Kentucky. The slaughters in Marjory Stoneman
Douglas High School, Florida. The shootings in Great Mills High School, Maryland. All of these
tragedies are results of gun violence. But gun violence cannot just occur out of nowhere; there has
to be a cause. Many people believe that violent video games are the direct cause of abusing the
power of guns. But research has proven that this is not true; violent video games do not cause the
actual school shootings.
In Japan, statistics show that 90% of all children ages 10 14 have video games in their houses. In
America, the statistics are the same, 90% of all children play video games [PDF]. Similarly, 95%
of all children in France ages 10 14 play video games [PDF]. In fact, Japan even has Call of Duty
and other violent video games in its top 50 most played video games [PDF]. For France, Call of
Duty and other such violent video games have even made it to the top 10 most played video games
of the year [PICTURE]. In 2014, only 6 people in Japan died of gun wounds, compared to the 33,
599 people that died in America [PDF]. So how is Japan and France not breaking out into a killing
spree equivalent to America s? 32, 500, 000 units Call of Duty Black Ops 111 has been sold world

empathy, and sensitivity to aggression. They deemed that violent video game usage has a direct and

The Cheesecake Factory Essay
The name says it all, Cheesecake Factory. Who would not want to go somewhere where the main
product is cheesecake? When you think of a factory, you think of a large room filled with lots of
equipment and employees all with very specific duties. The Cheesecake factory is no different. The
restaurant is set up to run just like a factory using classical approaches of organization. The
Cheesecake factoryis a very successful business, constantly growing. Everything about it is large,
from the portions to the amount of employees working for them. The reason for their success is due
to their high expectations of workers, their managerial set up to ensure customer satisfaction, and

General managers, who run all aspects of a restaurant, receive a new BMW their first day on the
job. Salaries for general managers can be in the six figure range, according to Wensing from
$150,000 to $200,000, by some accounts (Ruiz 2006). This sounds like the perfect place to work
but there is always room for improvement to make sure that the employees are able to keep an
open flow of communication not only with each other but with other franchises and corporate. This
way, if there are any concerns within a particular field that can t be settled by management alone,
they can be addressed by cooperate. After all, it was the vice president of performance and
development, Chuck Wensing that said, One of our biggest challenges is the notion of how to get
big, but remain small (Ruiz 2006).
My recommendation for this would be to hold quarterly and annual events that allow the
executives to mingle with the employees so that they may hear their thoughts and opinions in
person. It would allow for idea sharing between franchises and offer more training that can lead to
higher pay or recognition. This would also help to bolster employee morale and overall
performance.
Another thing the Cheesecake factory does that works well is create a simple managerial set up that
follows the principles of organizational structure. There is unity of command among the employees,
meaning that employees receive orders

Differences Between Star Wars And Star Wars
In this article I ll be talking about the difference in the famous films: Star Wars and Star Trek have
a lot of movies and series.
Introduction:
These two films: Star Wars and Star Trek are films which have to do from the first to the last to
understand. These two films are classified as the two most fanatical movies starting with children
and ending with the elderly. These two series of films I put them to the title: Fantasias Wars
Star Wars information:
Star Wars is an American epic space opera franchise, centered on a film series created by George
Lucas. It depicts the adventures of various characters a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away .
The first film in the series, Star Wars (later subtitled Episode IV: A New Hope), was... Show more

By contrast, in Star Trek we are told the story of a future in which the inhabitants of the Earth take
to the exploration of the universe in search of new planets and new life forms. The original series

Gains movies
While Star Wars has raised its six films about $ 5,670 million, Star Trek with its dozen films he
has reached $ 1,760. And yet here we do not have the latest animated film, which also must be
much . The film pocketed more money from the Star Wars saga was the original 1977 about $
1,610 million while Star Trek are barely reached $ 235 million with its Star Trek IV 1986
Conclusion:
I choose Star Wars vs. Star Trek because I like science fiction and fantasy movies. I liked Star
Wars more because it has more special effects and the characters demonstrate more action; however
the part of the movie as the main character. Star Trek didn t Convince me. I think it was boring.
Comparing to Star Wars if doesn t have that much

A Sunny Afternoon Of A California Bank
It s a sunny afternoon in a California bank. The air is crisp and clean, the birds are bright and
cheery, and the weather is all but perfect. Suddenly, a man bursts through the front doors, gun in
hand. He orders everyone to drop to the ground and forces the bank manager to open up the safe.
In that situation, everyone would know what to do. But what if the man had walked through the
doors in a suit, claimed to be from corporate I.T. and wanted to check the power voltage on the

Both the government and the private sector have been aware of the threat social engineering poses
to information security since the 1980s, but it has only gained public notoriety within the last
decade. Still, while today s corporations may be prepared for a raid by anonymous cyber terrorists
striking from overseas, they continue to turn a blind eye to the dangers of socially engineered
attacks. Thanks to a combination of corporate oversight and poor employee training, hackers with
zero coding knowledge are able to penetrate their secured buildings and wreak havoc. In order to
combat this vulnerability, the Department of Homeland Security should take an active role in the
operational security of major American businesses through extensive auditing and employee
training.
Of course, this problem did not emerge overnight. Low tech attack techniques have existed long
before the invention of the computer. Dumpster diving is one of the oldest methods of information
gathering, a vital step for any attack. Today, most firms simply toss their paper out in the trash
without shredding. These documents can contain confidential information such as passwords or
financial data. Even papers headlined with Do Not Disseminate or Confidential get tossed in the
trash with everything else. Johnny Long, a penetration tester, jokingly proposed that those

The society as a whole is losing the ability to interact with and understand the people we come in
contact with every day. Nations such as Japan and China used to be extremely interdependent
communities (Gilovich et al., 2012), meaning that their societies were connected and citizens
thought collectively rather than independently; however, while still more interdependent that the
United States, the emergence of new devices, including the new iPhones, is causing a cultural shift
in those societies as well. The more a society avoids interaction and continues to find comfort in
phones, the more independent we become; this is turn is leading to a very isolated and cruelly
individualistic society.

Health information exchange (HIE) is the electronic sharing of health information between
different healthcare organization and providers. The primary goal of HIE is to provide effective,
timely, safe, and secured healthcare information to ensure a patient is receiving the best care
possible. This concept is not new, it has been around since the early 90 s and with the advancement
of computer technology, and it is becoming the way of the future. Even with all the benefits
associated with HIE, there are however still some challenges that need to be addressed. Benefits of
HIE The use of HIE helps aid provider and healthcare facilities to provide fully coordinated patient

Holden connects to people and more importantly items of his inability to face growing up, this
portrays that Holden suffers from adolescent disillusionment. He was always happy as a kid so
he still keeps those memories close to him in his thoughts. Holden wants to utilize his memories
as an advantage to become a teacher to those who are young, innocent, and naive to protect the
children from facing reality. Holden wants to portray that he does not want other people going
down his rocky path so others won t have to suffer as well as he did. Throughout the novel,
Holden explains his journey to New York and the events that occurred there. In the beginning of
the novel, the readers are informed of his dead brother, Allie. Allie is Holden s incentive to try
and create a greater impact on others lives since he could not do the same for his brother. It was
then too late after, Allie died of leukemia. Holden couldn t thoroughly form a childhood bond with

develop throughout the film. I will be focusing on how they interact with adults, what adults think
they are incapable/capable of doing and how the children control their emotions.

Espionage In WW2

Espionage in World War 2 to Post War was a rampant epidemic that involved high levels of trickery,
psychological tactics, and incognito infiltration; consequently, many different countries were
involved in retrieving various pieces of information that could have been detrimental had the Axis
or Allies retained these blueprints, documents, and possibly voice recordings. In World War2 every
piece of evidence was needed. The war efforts in various countries were at somewhat of a hault

Light Detection And Ranging ( Lidar )
Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) has grown to become a vital technology used in remote
sensing technology from aerial or land based platforms. Environmentalists have used LiDAR
extensively in resource mapping for conservation efforts in the past. However, one of the
promising applications of LiDAR is planning and designing of engineering projects of varying
magnitudes and complexities. Some of the outstanding drawbacks of using traditional data
acquisition methods include the amount of time spent collecting the data and the reduction of
the data during processing. Such issues are significant in engineering projects due to the
corresponding cost and safety implications. Using LiDAR from aerial platforms allows
engineers to acquire and process data quickly with high levels of accuracy as compared to the
traditional methods. LiDAR involves the use of directing single laser pulses on targets and
performing an analysis on time taken to receive the reflected pulses (Finkl, 2013). The data
collected helps in the determination of elevation details of an area. Additionally, engineers can use
the global positioning system (GPS) and digital photography with the LiDAR elevation details to
present accurate and comprehensive information about the desired location for a project. The

audience is probably people who look at unhealthy food as a problem in the world, and agree
that healthy food is a better choice. This report is just another explanation on why unhealthy
foods can be bad for you, but it was explained very thoroughly with a lot of helpful information.
The graphs and maps shown on the report are very useful for my research because it shows

To start, we note that there is no allegation that Yelp directly threatened economic harm if the
business owners refused to purchase advertising packages from Yelp. While the lack of such
express threats does not alone dispose of the extortion claims, see United States v. Marsh, 26 F.3d
1496, 1501 (9th Cir. 1994), it does make the business owners case considerably more difficult.
Absent explicit threats of economic harm, the business owners must allege sufficient facts to
support the inference, In re Century Aluminum Co. Sec. Litig., 729 F.3d 1104, 1107 (9th Cir.
2013), that Yelp inten[ded] . . . to induce payment through the use of threats or the exploitation of
[economic] fears, United States v. Greger, 716 F.2d 1275, 1278 (9th Cir. 1983). Applying this
standard, we conclude that the business owners have not alleged sufficient facts to support their
claim that Yelp authored negative user reviews of the businesses in question. For these reasons and
the reasons explained in Part II.B of this opinion, we conclude that none of the business owners
have stated a claim of unlawful conduct on the basis of extortion. We therefore affirm the dismissal
of the separate claims of civil extortion and attempted civil extortion, as

Bread was not rationed, but by law had to be sold by weight and not by the loaf. Even so, the
government took steps to decrease its consumption further by banning the sale of bread until
twelve hours after it had been baked. The government decided that fresh bread was very difficult to
cut thinly so, if everyone cut their loaves in thick slices, they would consume more. Additionally,
the more appetising taste of fresh baked breadcould encourage people to eat it immoderately. Plans
were put in place to substitute the established white loaf with a national loaf made from
wholemeal grain. It is a loaf we are familiar with today but in 1918 many thought the taste and
colour unappetising, and some blamed it for a variety of digestive problems.... Show more content

Transnational corporations (TNC s) have often been regarded by many commentators as the
dominant institutions within the contemporary global economy, and popular discourse has
regularly painted TNC s as amoral financial behemoths that transcend state boundaries and plunder
the earth s resources at will. Dicken (2007), in his examination of TNC s, attempted to allay some
of the misconceptions of TNC s, particularly the notion that such enterprises are truly global in form.

One of the features of economic globalization is what is known as economic interdependency i.e.
an economic downturn in one country can have negative effects on trading partners in other nation
states. One such example of this interdependency was during the 1970 s when OPEC (organisation
of petroleum producing countries) increased the price oil. This price hike increased the cost of
energy production, which caused price inflation in many other countries. Manufacturing and
transport became costlier, so profits dropped, and unemployment rose in many countries because of
the inflated price of production, so enormous pressure was heaped on the welfare systems and many
investors lost confidence (Martell, 2010).
Another prime example of global economic interdependency was the financial crises that occurred
in the United States during the latter stages of 2007. Various factors, including the sub prime
mortgage crises, had contributed to this financial catastrophe, which lead to the stock market
falling 15% below its peak in 2007 (Grynbaum, 2008:C1, C7), and another dip in 2008 was
indicative of an economic recession. The idea that the world s strongest economies could flourish
independently was soon proved to wrong (Ritzer Dean, 2015). Since US is a consumer of many of
the worlds goods, nations that usually export their

What Makes Jack Nickolson A Hero
I love scarey stories. If a new scarey movie is out with a really bad villan, I will go immediately.
Most people are wimps and can not handle a loit of blood and gore, but not me. I m thick skinned
and don t close my eyes at all.
Everyone want to badmouth the villian, but he is critical to the success of a story. Without a
villian, you just don t realize how great the hero is. The villian plays many important roles. He
helps develop the plot. He is the antagonist, the opponent, the enemy. usually he loses too, so we
usually get to celebrate victory of good over evil. this makes us all happy, smile, and enjoy the
movie more. The actors love this too because they make more money.
i do not have a favorite villain, there are so many to chose from. Certainly the Joker in the
Batman movies stands out for me. Jack Nickolson plays the part so well. His voice, his makeup,
his actions are just so mean. Nickolson was also very good in A Few Good Men. When he
exploded at the end of the movie, you could feel his anger. An odd choice might be the fiance in

The American Dream Of An Unbiased Judicial, Executive, And...
Many Americans have the good fortune to be brought up believing that they can trust their

legislative branch cannot be equally accessed by all Americans. Some parents find it is necessary
to dispel the myth of the American Dream for their children, to protect their young minds from
future mental strife and in some cases to protect their bodies from future physical harm. This is a
reality in our country today. In the increasingly tense political and social environment corruption
festers and bad politics reign. While the situation may seem hopeless, it is important to realize that
the struggle to ensure equal rights for all has been a cause that countless people have been
committed to throughout the history of our country. They have dreamt and continue to dream of a
better future, one in which race and economic status do not define a child s potential. People have
been fighting for equal treatment since nearly the founding of the nation first to end slavery, then
to stop the legal and social practice of segregation. While discovering its point of origin is unlikely,
it is possible to examine the time frame which saw the struggle for equality fully developed into the
Civil Rights Movement. The movement reached its peak in the 1950s and 1960s with significant
figures like Martin Luther King Jr., Bayard Rustin, and Thurgood Marshal. Contemporary with the

Economic Liberalisation Of India And India
Economic liberalisation in India
India is a country which was and still is diverse in terms of cultures, languages, ethics and beliefs.
During the 1970 1990 when the British rule had just been over in India, it soon started to face
problems in their balance of payments. By the end of 1990, it was in a serious economic crisis.
The government was close to bankruptcy, the central bank of India had refused new credit and
foreign exchange reserves had been depleted to a point where India could barely finance three
weeks worth of imports which made the Indian government airlift the nations gold reserves as a
pledge to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in exchange for a loan to cover its balance of
payment debts.
The main causes of the crisis was 1) currency overvaluation,2) the current account deficit, and the
confidence of investors played a significant role in the sharp exchange rate depreciation
/devaluation. The economic crisis was primarily due to the large and growing fiscal imbalances
over 1980 1985... During 1985 1886, India started to have balance of payments problems.
Precipitated by the Gulf War, India s oil import bill increased, exports decreased, credit dried up,
and investors that had invested their money in India took their money out. Large fiscal deficits,
over the time, had a huge spill over effect on the trade deficit, culminating in an external payments
crisis. By the end of the 90 s, India was in deep economic trouble. The gross fiscal deficit of the

Why I Should Do Or Should I Not
Two things kept going back and forth in my head, should I do or should I not. As walked to my
car from work, I kept starring at my phone thinking an answer would appear on the screen. Then
I sat in my car contemplating for another fifth teen minutes, which felt extremely short knowing
that I needed more time. Out of the blue I heard a voice in my head saying. Do you really want
mom to kill you? Sadly, due to my non conformist personality and being the strong minded one of
the family, I stumble upon this question quite often. Just like all the other times, I went with my
impulse and decided to go for it. On my way there, I was wondering how on earth will I be able to
pull this off without my mothers permission and maybe that was why a thirty minute car ride
somehow felt like five.
Finally, I pulled my car into a gravel path and hoped for the best as I walked into the building
nervously. But as I walked closer to the front desk, I felt a sense of ease and I remembered my
whole purpose of being there. Then receptionist asked me, Can I help you? and in returned I said I
am here for Pup Pup. As I following the nice lady to the back, there was huge difference from the
waiting room to where placed the rest of them. The moment I stepped foot behind there, this
disgusting odor instantly hit me and all I heard was something screeching against the medal fences.

Edgar Allan Poe Symbolism
Poetry Analysis Essay: Alone by Edgar Allan Poe
Alone; Alone is one word that perfectly describes Edgar Allan Poe s devastating life of sorrow; a
never ending depression. This poem is the basic rundown of how loneliness played an important
factor in the life of Poe stating how he was never like the others and how with even joy and
happiness, despair affected him. The poem, Alone by Edgar Allan Poe, has an abundant usage of
symbolism and a unique way of using tone to create the poem that brings his true meaning of a
man s life who has been living in isolation and melancholy.
One poetic element used in this poem is symbolism. Symbolism is used in Alone as a way for
Poe to express his true feelings by using words to create an image or representation of the way he
wants his readers to interpret the poem; using symbolism will generate a time period of Poe s
life. The reason behind this is, because the words chosen, symbolize the ongoing idea of
loneliness in the poem. For example, Poe writes, (When the rest of Heaven was blue) Of a
demon in my view (Poe 21 22). This is the representation of how around Poe, there was happiness
around him but all Poe saw was great despair from within due to the great loneliness. Another line

The negative sign indicates that the Price and the Quantity are related, which you would expect for
most price/demand relationships as a rise in price will fall in the quantity demanded. This is
important due to the magazine supplier being able to estimate the revenue that will be affected by
the change in price. From above, the revenue at ВЈ1.00 is ВЈ500,000, but falls to ВЈ30,000 after the

The government has many products which are imposed to indirect taxation, an example of this is

Literary Analysis Of Shrek 2
Nowadays, when we hear Shrek we think of him as an icon of the internet. In a world where
appearances seem to be societies focus, Shrek 2 reminds us that looks are fleeting, but what is
on the inside is what is important. Shrek 2 is a movie written in 2014 that follows the main
character, Shrek an ogre, on his journey in the kingdom, Far Far Away as he tries to acquire the

teaching a life lesson in the use a medieval style with numerous references to pop culture and iconic

Although set in what seemingly resembles medieval times and the characters costumes fit the
backdrop, Shrek 2 presents modern references which enable the audience to realize the mockery

where the royals live. The film creators draw this city in a way that looks strikingly similar to
Hollywood. As Shrek and Fiona arrive in front of her parents castle, crowds await them cheering.
Royals are put in a standard and admiration similar to those of celebrities, while the cheering
crowds at the gate resembles obsessive fans. The creator s use of this medieval Hollywood works
well because people are often idolized and idealized. Shrek displays an obvious hesitance on
visiting the in laws since he is aware his image

Existing problems
After interviews with staff regarding our daily operations, which mostly involve liaising with
buyers, handling customers enquiries and following up on orders, the following problems have
been identified:
Twelve new employees have been hired since December, increasing our headcount to twenty four.
However, only twelve functional laptops and five printers are available now and this slows down
the work procedures of the company. Moreover, staff training is inadequate, especially when we
have installed a new software programme for our inventory management system. The management
agreed in the last meeting to allocate $80,000 for additional equipment and training.

Purchasing new laptops and printers

Bucky Cantor s Heroic Struggle In Nemesis By Philip Roth
In the novel Nemesis, by Philip Roth, the central character, Bucky Cantor, has a personal desire
for some heroic challenge. This desire originated from his upbringing from his maternal
grandparents after his mother died giving birth and after his father left Bucky at an early age. His
grandfather in particular raised the young Bucky Cantor to embody and espouse the masculine
virtues. These virtues included bravery, accepting responsibility, and making the best out of what
is provided. With the life lessons of his grandfather, Bucky was able to grow up, in spite of
severely poor vision and lack of immediate parents, to become a young man of excellent physical
prowess and mental fortitude. One roadblock Bucky overcame was when he was barred entry into
the military, preventing him from fighting with his close friends and for a chance at challenging
gallantry. True to his grandfather s lessons during childhood, he made do with his circumstances
and fought another conflict of a different nature.
During most of the novel, Bucky Cantor was employed as a teacher and playground director of a
local school in a closely knit, family oriented Jewish community of Weequahic neighborhood in
Newark, New Jersey. While he worked in 1944 near the summer, a polio outbreak had... Show

Another sentiment he experienced is the feeling of remorse for what he sees as utter failure, all
because of what he sees as letting his charges down and doing more harm than good. Bucky s
sentiments are fueled by his desire to accept responsibility for his events and actions, though the
narrator does not blame Bucky and attempts to absolve his childhood hero for the past

Escapism In The 1920s
The Oxford English dictionary defines escapism as the tendency to seek, or the practice of
seeking, distraction from what normally has to be endured . This definition could help explain
why musical artists in the 1920s were more prone to focus on escapist themes such as privacy and
romance rather than on political and social views of the time.
Given the amount of racism that persisted during the early 1920s, it would make sense for artists
to make music that would enable them to seek an escape from the reality of everyday life. From a
different perspective, (as we progress through the 20 s) we also see this as a time of optimism
where race records and hillbilly records we able to cross over into other ethnic groups. With these

However according to the researches organizations must be careful in choosing the type of the
employee involvement. In order to choose the right type of employee involvement in the process of
change organizations should pay attention to the criteria s as follows; roles, skills, resource,
commitment, outputs, and data (Vidal, 2007). Furthermore the author argues that choosing the
right type of employee involvement effects positively in the process of change, commitment and
also reduces cost. Whereas choosing the wrong employee involvement type will negative impact in
time planning, solutions, and also in financial resources. However, (M.Gale J.Clay, 2001) believes
that in order to gain the level of the commitment during the change, the organizations should highly
consider to use some of the other involvement tools such as; communication, education, group
discussion, support, feedback and reward. By giving the people the opportunity the express their
opinions in the individual basis, it is great way to understand their feelings for any concern or any
possible fear they might have for the process of change. On the other hand education is also another
indicator that certainly increase the level of employee commitment before and also during the

What Events Led Up To Pearl Harbor
The Article I selected for this assignment was President Roosevelt, Admiral Stark, and the Unsent
Warning to Pearl Harbor: A Research Note. This article clarifies some of the more controversial
events leading up to pearl harbor. Specifically, why pearl harbor was not prepared for the attack.
The article starts off with the writers interviewing Admiral Harold R. Stark who took most of the
blame for the incident when it occurred. The interview itself was a regurgitation of information
the writers already knew but after they finished up the interview and were heading out the door
Admiral Harold R. Stark said Somebody had to stand up and shoulder the blame. It was up to me
to do that. I ll carry that burden, always. I ll keep that secret, always.

39). Part of the role of an efficient leader is to recognize that conflicts and unexpected situations
will be presented in any type of organization. Leaders will have to make critical and tough
decisions that might bring tribulation. A leader should be able to take control of the situation and
provide guidance, always taking in consideration the safety and well being of those who follow. It
is important that leaders make choices that protects the organization and others from undue
distraction to the mission (Dees, 2013, p. 44).
Integrity
Integrity is simply telling the truth or staying true to a set of values (Dees, 2013, p80). Integrity
is essential in the effectiveness of a leader. Integrity is often cited as a critical component of
leadership (Palanski, Simons, TreviГ±o, 2011). An effective leader understands the need to be an
example of honesty and truthfulness. While leaders may wholeheartedly agree with the concept
for a subordinate to fully embrace effective followership, he or she must trust in the leader
/follower relationship (Satterlee, 2013, p. 7). Followers will place their trust in a leader that act
upon values, moral principles and beliefs. Leaders should understand that every decision would
have an effect on those around themselves. The more choices you make based on integrity, the
more this highly prized value will affect your relationships with family and friends, and finally, the
fundamental acceptance of yourself (Dees, 2013, p.

Introduction
Since the development of the EMTALA Act in 1986, any individual which presents to the
emergency department, must be accessed and triaged by qualified medical personnel.
(www.cms.gov) Individuals are aware that if they present to the emergency department, regardless
if it is for just a tooth ache or a major illness like a heart attack, they will have to be treated. This
mandate does not extend to private physician offices, however, which creates an incentive for those

(Mann, 2014, p.2) These strategies include: broadening access to primary care services; focus on
individuals who frequently utilize the emergency department (super utilizers); and targeting the
needs of individuals with behavioral health problems. (Mann, 2014, pp 2 4) Many resources and
processes have been implemented in order to help decrease inappropriate emergency department
visits. This paper is going to demonstrate some resources and processes that are in place to help
individuals obtain health care at the appropriate health care setting.
Body When focusing on the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Systems strategies for
improvement with unnecessary emergency room visits, a major key area is accessibility to health
care at the appropriate health care setting. For many years, there has been the perception that the
emergency department is the only place for someone who is uninsured or underinsured can go to
receive the needed and appropriate health care, and in some situations that may be the case. (Rhodes
et al, 2013, p.394) Due to the decreases in reimbursements for the publicly funded, more and more
physicians are opting out to treating these patients, thus leading to an increase in emergency
department utilization. According to a study conducted by Rhodes, Bisgaier, Lawson, Soglen,
Krug, and Haitsma, this is becoming a greater concern for the

Streptococcus Pyogenes is More than Strep Throat Essay
Streptococcus Pyogenes: More than Strep Throat
S. pyogenes infections may vary from mild to life threatening with a plethora of symptoms due to
the many types of infections it causes. This bacterium is responsible for the diseases of pharyngitis,
rheumatic fever, impetigo, erysipelas, cellulitis, necrotizing fasciitis, acute poststreptococcal
glomerulonephritis, and toxic shock syndrome, just to name a few. Each of these infections has its
own unique set of symptoms as will be explored in depth below.

Initial diagnosis of Streptococcal pharyngitis is determined by a point system awarding 1 point
for each of the following; temperature greater than 38 C, absence of cough, tender anterior
cervical lymph nodes, tonsillar swelling, age younger than 15, subtracting a point for age older
than 45. If these symptoms are met, a rapid strep test will be performed before antibiotics are
given, a precaution taken to prevent super bugs from developing.
If a streptococcal infection such as pharyngitis or scarlet fever is left untreated, there is a small
(~3%) chance that within approximately 20 days, the patient will present with rheumatic fever.
After the first bout of rheumatic fever, if the host acquires a second untreated S. Pyogenes
infection, the chance of coming down with rheumatic fever jumps substantially to ~50%. Most
often this secondary disease will strike people aged 6 15 years old, roughly 20 days after the
streptococcal infection, with a 2 5% mortality rate. One of the major diagnostic symptoms of this
disease is Erythema Marginatum, snake or ring like eruptions covering the trunk, upper arms, and
legs. Other symptoms include fever, arthritis (elbows, knees, wrists, and ankles), swollen joints,
pain in the abdomen, nodules

S. C. Verma, (2000), explained about the linkage of talent acquisition management and engagement
with business strategy of the organization. In this context author has stated that, historically,
organizations have not treated the recruitment process as one of strategic significance, but latterly

  • 2. Execution Of Justice Analysis The Ohio State University Theatre Department s performance of Execution of Justice, by Emily Mann, was performed ten times between April 4th and April 10th, 2018. It was directed by Tom Dugdale, this play is a dramatic retelling of the trial of The People vs Daniel James White of the killings of former Mayor of San Francisco, George Moscone, and former City Supervisor, Harvey Milk in November of 1978. The play uses actual transcripts from the trial and brings in voices of people who would not have been in the courtroom, but whose voices should have been heard. I believe this play was a success in its performance and directing and technical aspects. It made me sympathize with the prosecuting attorney and want to know more about what happened and why Dan White only received two manslaughter charges instead of the two first degree murder charges I came to believe he deserved. A very impressive performance by Ohio State senior, McKenna Willis, who... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Dan White appeared alone center stage in his own lighting with the rest of the stage dark on the raised platform speaking to the audience, saying that he just wanted to do a good job for the city. I found this moment to be very strong because it felt lonely for him and it showed physically and metaphorically that he would have been alone in receiving his sentencing and in saying that he wanted to do a good job and that he was a lonely vote on the board, it reflected his words. After his final line the lights cut out and into a jagged pattern across the stage, and the the words Execution of Justice appeared in large font across the back wall. This was really cool, especially with the music in the background because it all seemed to blend together, I could see the collaboration that would have occurred between media, sound and lighting very clearly in these final cues. The collaboration notable in the piece as a whole was very ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Cardiac Output ( Co ) Cardiac Output (CO) is defined as the volume of blood pumped out by the heart, specifically by the left and right ventricle, per unit time (usually in 1 minute). It is the product of Stroke Volume (SV) and Heart Rate (HR) [1]. CO = SV x HR Jessica s pre exercise cardiac output can therefore be calculated as 70ml x 70bpm = 4900ml/min or 4.9L/min, whilst her post exercise cardiac output is 110ml x 130bpm = 14.3L/min. In an adult at rest, the average cardiac output is 4.9L/min for a human female and 5.6L/min for a male [2]. Throughout normal life, however, cardiac output can vary continuously depending on the metabolic demands of the body. As seen with Jessica, cardiac output may be raised during exercise, and may also be reduced, for example in sleep [3]. Stroke volume is the amount of blood pumped out from a ventricle in one heartbeat, and is dependent on several factors such as heart size, contraction duration, contractility, preload, and afterload [1]. Stroke volume can be calculated as the difference between the volume of blood in the ventricle just before a heartbeat (end diastolic volume; EDV) and the volume following contraction (end systolic volume; ESV) [4]. SV = EDV ESV Average stroke volume is around 70ml (in a healthy 70kg man; with approximately 120ml and 50ml measurements for EDV and ESV, respectively) [4]. Jessica s stroke volume is also 70ml, which increases (as expected) to 110ml following exercise, achieved by a drop in ESV due to a more complete emptying ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The shootings in Great Mills High School, Maryland. All of these tragedies are results of gun violence. But gun violence cannot just occur out of nowhere; there has to be a cause. Many people believe that violent video games are the direct cause of abusing the power of guns. But research has proven that this is not true; violent video games do not cause the actual school shootings. In Japan, statistics show that 90% of all children ages 10 14 have video games in their houses. In America, the statistics are the same, 90% of all children play video games [PDF]. Similarly, 95% of all children in France ages 10 14 play video games [PDF]. In fact, Japan even has Call of Duty and other violent video games in its top 50 most played video games [PDF]. For France, Call of Duty and other such violent video games have even made it to the top 10 most played video games of the year [PICTURE]. In 2014, only 6 people in Japan died of gun wounds, compared to the 33, 599 people that died in America [PDF]. So how is Japan and France not breaking out into a killing spree equivalent to America s? 32, 500, 000 units Call of Duty Black Ops 111 has been sold world wide [PDF]. Yet, the Earth... Salaries for general managers can be in the six figure range, according to Wensing from $150,000 to $200,000, by some accounts (Ruiz 2006). This sounds like the perfect place to work but there is always room for improvement to make sure that the employees are able to keep an open flow of communication not only with each other but with other franchises and corporate. This way, if there are any concerns within a particular field that can t be settled by management alone, they can be addressed by cooperate. After all, it was the vice president of performance and development, Chuck Wensing that said, One of our biggest challenges is the notion of how to get big, but remain small (Ruiz 2006). My recommendation for this would be to hold quarterly and annual events that allow the executives to mingle with the employees so that they may hear their thoughts and opinions in person. It would allow for idea sharing between franchises and offer more training that can lead to higher pay or recognition. This would also help to bolster employee morale and overall performance. Another thing the Cheesecake factory does that works well is create a simple managerial set up that follows the principles of organizational structure. Both the government and the private sector have been aware of the threat social engineering poses to information security since the 1980s, but it has only gained public notoriety within the last decade. Still, while today s corporations may be prepared for a raid by anonymous cyber terrorists striking from overseas, they continue to turn a blind eye to the dangers of socially engineered attacks. Thanks to a combination of corporate oversight and poor employee training, hackers with zero coding knowledge are able to penetrate their secured buildings and wreak havoc. In order to combat this vulnerability, the Department of Homeland Security should take an active role in the operational security of major American businesses through extensive auditing and employee training. Of course, this problem did not emerge overnight. Low tech attack techniques have existed long before the invention of the computer. Dumpster diving is one of the oldest methods of information gathering, a vital step for any attack. Today, most firms simply toss their paper out in the trash without shredding. • 17. Light Detection And Ranging ( Lidar ) Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) has grown to become a vital technology used in remote sensing technology from aerial or land based platforms. Environmentalists have used LiDAR extensively in resource mapping for conservation efforts in the past. However, one of the promising applications of LiDAR is planning and designing of engineering projects of varying magnitudes and complexities. Some of the outstanding drawbacks of using traditional data acquisition methods include the amount of time spent collecting the data and the reduction of the data during processing. Such issues are significant in engineering projects due to the corresponding cost and safety implications. Using LiDAR from aerial platforms allows engineers to acquire and process data quickly with high levels of accuracy as compared to the traditional methods. LiDAR involves the use of directing single laser pulses on targets and performing an analysis on time taken to receive the reflected pulses (Finkl, 2013). The data collected helps in the determination of elevation details of an area. Additionally, engineers can use the global positioning system (GPS) and digital photography with the LiDAR elevation details to present accurate and comprehensive information about the desired location for a project. The current paper focuses on the LiDAR data generated from aerial sources although several types of data exist. While the lack of such express threats does not alone dispose of the extortion claims, see United States v. Marsh, 26 F.3d 1496, 1501 (9th Cir. 1994), it does make the business owners case considerably more difficult. Absent explicit threats of economic harm, the business owners must allege sufficient facts to support the inference, In re Century Aluminum Co. Sec. One of the features of economic globalization is what is known as economic interdependency i.e. an economic downturn in one country can have negative effects on trading partners in other nation states. One such example of this interdependency was during the 1970 s when OPEC (organisation of petroleum producing countries) increased the price oil. This price hike increased the cost of energy production, which caused price inflation in many other countries. Manufacturing and transport became costlier, so profits dropped, and unemployment rose in many countries because of the inflated price of production, so enormous pressure was heaped on the welfare systems and many investors lost confidence (Martell, 2010). Another prime example of global economic interdependency was the financial crises that occurred in the United States during the latter stages of 2007. Various factors, including the sub prime mortgage crises, had contributed to this financial catastrophe, which lead to the stock market falling 15% below its peak in 2007 (Grynbaum, 2008:C1, C7), and another dip in 2008 was indicative of an economic recession. Edgar Allan Poe Symbolism Poetry Analysis Essay: Alone by Edgar Allan Poe Alone; Alone is one word that perfectly describes Edgar Allan Poe s devastating life of sorrow; a never ending depression. This poem is the basic rundown of how loneliness played an important factor in the life of Poe stating how he was never like the others and how with even joy and happiness, despair affected him. The poem, Alone by Edgar Allan Poe, has an abundant usage of symbolism and a unique way of using tone to create the poem that brings his true meaning of a man s life who has been living in isolation and melancholy. One poetic element used in this poem is symbolism. Symbolism is used in Alone as a way for Poe to express his true feelings by using words to create an image or representation of the way he wants his readers to interpret the poem; using symbolism will generate a time period of Poe s life. The reason behind this is, because the words chosen, symbolize the ongoing idea of loneliness in the poem. In a world where appearances seem to be societies focus, Shrek 2 reminds us that looks are fleeting, but what is on the inside is what is important. Overwhelming, the movie is able to depict a fantastic children s romantic fairytale by teaching a life lesson in the use a medieval style with numerous references to pop culture and iconic soundtrack. Although set in what seemingly resembles medieval times and the characters costumes fit the backdrop, Shrek 2 presents modern references which enable the audience to realize the mockery of today s world. Knowing that Fiona is a princess as well, we instantly know that Far Far Away is where the royals live. The film creators draw this city in a way that looks strikingly similar to Hollywood. As Shrek and Fiona arrive in front of her parents castle, crowds await them cheering. Royals are put in a standard and admiration similar to those of celebrities, while the cheering crowds at the gate resembles obsessive fans. • 41. Bucky Cantor s Heroic Struggle In Nemesis By Philip Roth In the novel Nemesis, by Philip Roth, the central character, Bucky Cantor, has a personal desire for some heroic challenge. This desire originated from his upbringing from his maternal grandparents after his mother died giving birth and after his father left Bucky at an early age. His grandfather in particular raised the young Bucky Cantor to embody and espouse the masculine virtues. These virtues included bravery, accepting responsibility, and making the best out of what is provided. With the life lessons of his grandfather, Bucky was able to grow up, in spite of severely poor vision and lack of immediate parents, to become a young man of excellent physical prowess and mental fortitude. One roadblock Bucky overcame was when he was barred entry into the military, preventing him from fighting with his close friends and for a chance at challenging gallantry. True to his grandfather s lessons during childhood, he made do with his circumstances and fought another conflict of a different nature. During most of the novel, Bucky Cantor was employed as a teacher and playground director of a local school in a closely knit, family oriented Jewish community of Weequahic neighborhood in Newark, New Jersey. This definition could help explain why musical artists in the 1920s were more prone to focus on escapist themes such as privacy and romance rather than on political and social views of the time. Given the amount of racism that persisted during the early 1920s, it would make sense for artists to make music that would enable them to seek an escape from the reality of everyday life.
